Use our rumours form to send us liverpool transfer rumours.

27 Oct 2012 22:08:57
Some investments are just being so wasteful, I'm afraid but I dnt think Borini would've scored anytime soon. Made worse by his injury. That money on Sturridge would've paid off differently at least with several goals more than Borini (if at all he's scored any goals in his entire Liverpool career). Hit the 'disagrees' if u think Borini is more value for money than Daniel Sturridge.

RedBeer. {Ed001's Note - what a ridiculous question, you don't even know what Sturridge's price would have been! Nor his wage demands. Clueless waste of time.}

27 Oct 2012 23:41:55
Mate neither Borini or Sturridge are our answer. We need quality foward which will be out of our reach its better we should stick with what we have rather then waste money on overrate/average players like STURRIDGE or WALCOTT or HOOPER. We should learn from Borini mistake. We have got lots of pontential players in our squad we don't need anymore.

You are clueless. You don't even know if he has scored or not. Says it all...

pronin

Learn from the Borini mistake, i worry about the future of our club after reading these pages over the years, an increasing amount of ridiculous posts on this forum. The lad has played out wide and has less than half a dozen appearances under his belt. Sick and tired of players getting battered before being given a chance. Other team supporters must laugh at us when reading this forum

We had jackson martinez, and jovetick, this 2 wouldve make wery big difference, and wot rodgers does get rid of kuyt and bring another kuyt, but this borini its worst worst worst than kuyt.

28 Oct 2012 11:12:37
To above poster we are not in a position to buy players and give them chance or time coz it will take years to be back in champions league. We need players who have immediate IMPACT. If we need to give them chance or time then why buy players from outside we should just give our youngsters chance or time rather then buy.

Everton don't worry me in the slightest, the ref? Now that's a different story! Ignore Moyes, he is just getting the ref on side before a ball is kicked after whats happened with Luis lately, roles reversed I would expect Rodgers to do the same...Heres hoping for a strong referee who wont be swayed!

Waro

I hope that Liverpool are brave enough to play their usual way and not get drawn into a kicking match with Everton. The issue is if the likes of Sterling and Suso (if they play) dont go into their shell if the boots are flying in. This is were we will need a strong ref. If we can withstand the first 20.minute onslaught then the footballers should come out on top.

The Irish Rover

27 Oct 2012 23:26:45
I don't think Rodgers would do the same if the roles were reversed - he is too respectful. So many managers are jumping on the bandwagon regardIng Suarez now, I dont see how it is so much of a problem as he is getting nothing from the ref at all, and other playing are exploiting this and he is getting kicked about on the pitch now. Truth is people are scared of what he can do, he is hardly prolific in front of goal but man does he worry defenders with his spectacular skill. He goes down at the slightest touch, but many players, especially foreign players have been told to do this in order to win advantages for the team. It's not right by our standards, but players from different cultures have been taught differently to English Players. The only thing that annoys me about it is that by now he should have learned that refs are giving him nothing and he should be doing all he can to stay on his feet. It would be fair enough if he wasn't exclusively pinpointed, but I never saw Drogba get the same treatment, and Welbeck and Young are pretty much untouched in the media. The two of them should know better being more familiar with the English game. People just want a reason to hate Suarez because he is a bit cocky and knows how talented he is. I expect him to score a few tomo and silence our blue neighbours.

27 Oct 2012 21:12:48
Ive a gut feeling that Johnson will play right back tomorrow which will probably mean Enrique playing left back. I just think Rodgers might go for a bit more experience.

The Irish Rover

I would not be surprised if we never see Enrique in a red shirt again.
He has become a liability

Enrique has been getting way too much stick. In form he is the best defending left back we've had in years. I think he will get his act together now that he sees that he doesn't have an automatic spot in the team.

In games with Assaidi in front he will be the balance we need defensively.

pronin

I'd have enrique playing lb and johnson rb

enrique just needs sit down, take off his shirt and read the number, go on wiki and have a look at the position it says he plays in.

then look at his picture and above it the name (it reads Jose Enrique) not messi, quaresma or ronaldinho..

he is not a Left wing back..

and once he understands that then he will be a force at LB.

he is fast, strong and has excellent technical abilities but it's like he plays with no brains.

i would also stick with suso and sterling but deffo bring on assaidi to finish the game strongly

also keep allen, sahin and gerrard again with shelvey coming on to finish the game strong

and carragher, wisdom, henderson, downing & jones as further options on the bench

Enrique should get his chance just like downing and Henderson have got theirs. Plus Enrique is better than wisdom going forward.

Wisdom is an all round better player than Enrique.

Mighty reds

Wisdom doesnt play left back.

27 Oct 2012 21:05:43
It is quite clear that the senior players are trying to knobble the youth project. If the likes of Gerrard really had the club's best interests at heart he would not play in the Europa League and instead allow the likes of Coady to get a game. If Gerrard had any interest in the Premiership he would play at centreforward and allow Suarez to play on the left of the front 3 instead of Gerrard stopping the likes of Shelvey getting picked in midfield.

Liverpool as usual will mess up against Everton because Rodgers will play Suarez down the middle and he will miss his usual 8 or 9 attempts on goal while the most overrated goalie Reina if selected will fumble another shot into his own net. Suarez like last season at this time is set to go on a long run of not scoring at all.

Our club has caught a disease. No named 'supporters' who embarrass us.
Daniel YNWA

Because Gerrard picks the team, tactics and formation. What a ridiculous post.
Do you really think when Gerrard was picked on Thursday he would have turned around to Rodgers and said 'I don't really want to play, am 32 now and Coady looks good so give him a game instead'?
And 'Liverpool as usual will mess up against Everton', did you watch the last few derbies, we are on a three game winning streak against them and lost only 4 in the last 10 years!

Jay

This post is like farting in a lift - wrong on so many levels.

Nick

What a ridiculous post. Why not just drop Gerrard and Surez and we might be playing in the Championship if we're lucky. Not sure how you can knock Suarez. He'd get in any LFC side from any generation, he just needs someone to play ahead of him

The op is a deffo blue nose.
Come back tomorrow and say the same my bitter little friend.

Phooey...

27 Oct 2012 21:47:37
You evertons are making me laugh your more worried about liverpool then your small tiny club. Moyes is one of the most overrated manager ever in the History of football and I mean EVER. In his TEN YEARS have just won 4 derbies and couldn't built a decent side to atleast win trophys such as carling cup or FA cups at the same time he thinks he is mourinho or Guardiola !. People say he might get man united job? I say NO CHANCE he will turn them in to HOOFING and POOFING side and at best turning them in to midtable team forever. There is a reason that top teams don't even think about him being their assistant manager forget about manager

Diploma is in the mail for being the lousiest supporter of the year. You clearly don't understand how things work either. Gerrard is not the one who selects the team.

pronin

I don't see Conor Coady pushing for a first team place above Suso, Adorjan, Shelvey, Allen, Lucas, Sahin, Texeira etc.

BthekingB

Guys in derby games league standing, form, players mean f*ck all. It is just a coin flip situation.
Andrew

Suarez has never gone more than 4 league games without scoring for us so... hardly a long run of not scoring

28 Oct 2012 00:28:36
Why be disrespectful about Everton? They have had a great start to the season, and Moyes is a really good manager - very unprofessional for him to slate Suarez like he has, but still, don't let wanting us to win tomorrow cloud your judgement.

Baio would play in the first team before coady

Disrespectful about everyone - Who, us? - you must be thinking of someone else mate. We really love them......honest ;)
ND

27 Oct 2012 20:31:35
Rodgers needs to stop thinking that winning one of the 3 mickeymouse cups this season is more important than finishing in 4th place. Arsenal are weak this season.

The same Arsenal that taught us a lesson 2-0 at anfield?

Jay

Arsenal haven't had consistency for years, Arsene tinkers quite a lot and injuries often unsettle their back four. They were great against us, but I see them struggling a little this season. Spurs are the major contender for me, well them and our inability to score.

Papa G

Football is 80% confidence and im sure if Liverpool played the gunners now you might get a differenr result. The 4th spot is there for the taking and while it is i see no reason why Liverpool dont have as much chance as any.

The Irish Rover

Yea but lads were only just buying into system when we played Arsenal

Newcastle and Everton will be thereabouts as well

Football is a lot about confidence Rover. Just wondering which study had it nailed down at 80%? I read a study in football formula's weekly were it distinctly had it for a British player requirement as persperation 30% inspiration 5% making confidence 65% mate. Those numbers are adjusted according to nationality. Very good read folks ha ha.
PS Spanish players persperation and inspiration numbers are the total opposite of the British. Xenophobic twerps ha ha.
JohnBoy

28 Oct 2012 10:36:46
I would honestly rather win the Carling Cup every season and finish outside the top 4, than be like Arsenal an be in it every year and never win it, or anything else.

27 Oct 2012 20:11:41
Am i the onlyone who thinks.samid yesil will be a world class.striker in years to come.

27 Oct 2012 21:06:13
No my friend you are not on your own there

27 Oct 2012 20:00:48
No matter what happens tomorrow win, lose, draw i will continue my support of my beloved liverpool, but i,m confident of a win.Any one else with me,COME ON YOU REDMEN SHOW THE BLUESh...t why they are inferior to us.

27 Oct 2012 20:00:03
Forget about the Merseyside Derby guys, we have Spearing to look forward to in February!

Piledriver

Hi - that's not much of a piledriver - Spearing is ON LOAN! This means that he CAN NOT play against in February or at any other time this season.
DM2012

Who/what are we going to spear?

What's the point of this?

pronin

He comes back then it was only a six month loan.

It's a full season loan mate.

27 Oct 2012 18:44:14
just a quick question for Macca. Are we interested in huntelaar?

Gee man

27 Oct 2012 18:12:43
Does anyone know if Brendan Rodgers and Joe Allen have the same agent? as 16.7 million for a player as ordinary as Allen is very strange.

Rodgers had some nerve at the end of the transfer window moaning about not being able to sign a striker when he had already wasted money on someone as useless as Borini who will never score in the Premiership. It is ridiculous that Morgan, Ngoo and Yesil have been overlooked in the Premiership. Suarez is a great creator but he will always be wayward in his finishing.

Clueless no name fan.

Chi-Paul

How lucky a team we are to have fans like this.

Jay

Your post is so off that im speeding home to hit the dissagree button twice on your post.

The Rob

27 Oct 2012 20:09:57
If you think Allen is ordinary then you have no business comenting of football as you clearly have no understanding of the game what so ever.......why not try a more simple game like pool or even darts maybe that would be more at your level.

MR EM

What a brilliant example of the new breed of Reds fan, if that's what he is, all moans and whines. Allen has been great. Borini had worked his socks off and been unlucky. Is it too much to have a little positivity and some praise for the good things that are happening on the pitch?
ND

27 Oct 2012 21:14:10
to be honest allen is being overhyped
hes a tidy player , unspectacular, doesnt boss the midifeld likelucas does
he hasnt been pulling upany trees so far

tom1975

Allen is a good player no question about that! I also think something fishy is going on with some of the latest signings. £35mil for Carroll is a joke. Subtract £20mil and you have the players worth. Sorry Andy but true

This is obviously a bitter or a Manc

I disagree with you Tom mate,
just one example against Udinase he had 3 players around him at one stage and came away with the ball.
he does this quite often.

phooey...

27 Oct 2012 18:08:23
Eds what is it that the announcer means when he says " commencing operation Anfield" During a home game ? {Ed001's Note - it is for the staff.}

Its the corner routine, Skrtel goes back post!

It's a security/safety drill.

Putting foundations in for the new stadium

Well just for your benefit fellow red,the newest member on the security/groundsmen on hearing this has to hot foot it to the nearest chippy for the half time fish and chips for the lads, and if he doesnt get back in time he gets a piley on from all the groundstaff, and it has been known for the team to join in on the odd occasion just for a buzz.

27 Oct 2012 15:56:47
Part of Moyesey's team talk="Ok i've started the Suarez wind up,rest've you in his ear, kick, pull him the lot."
Advice to Suarez=You know your gona get it,-shut it, don't gesticulate, reacts, most of all STAY on your feet if at all possible. Let Stevie as Captain talk to Ref. Stevie-KEEP Suarez in check!
Next part Moyesy's talk=Intimidate and kick s it out've young lads,'Derby' Debutants and foreigners in particular.Especially 1st twenty minutes.
Thats why Mr. Rodgers my side would be

Jones(just.aint bothered if Reina)

Wisdom Skrtel Agger Johnson- if fit

Gerrard Shelvey Allen

Sterling Assaidi

Suarez

Only really x3 younger.Steel,Height,Strength and experience to start with.

Subs.Keeper,Hendo,Sahin,Suso,Enrique(/maybe Paceco instead),Downing,Coates-if fit. - Young foreign lad's in physical English Derby-be mistake I.M.O. For reasons stated above. You NEVER want too many inexperienced or lightweight in a'Derby'.

I'd make a few changes...
Sahin for shelvey...
Suso for assasidi...

Suso didn't play Thursday so he should be fresh plus I would like a bit more class in the team and they are our two most classy players.

On a side note I still rate shelvey and assasidi really highly.

27 Oct 2012 15:19:45
Moyes fears suarez diving!
Moyes fears suarez antics!
In truth moyes fear suarez end of story!!
We all know there are two teams in Liverpool "Liverpool fc & Liverpool reserves" things will go back to the norm tomorrow will win 1-2, go oooooon Liverpool.

27 Oct 2012 19:12:17
Spot on mate

What a prat Moyes is! Everyone says Suarez dives. But has he gained anything this season from doing so? No. In fact, the decisions he should have had have gone against him. Really, Moyes, if you've got anyone to fear, watch out for Raheem!

Remember last years game at goodison? who dived and feigned injury to get rodwell sent off.rodgers has moaned more in his little spell than moyes entire 11 years

28 Oct 2012 01:05:04
Rodwell did not deserve a red card but that tackle was horrible - Everton's intention was to literally kick us off the pitch during that game, disgustIng attitude from our neighbours. None of that tomorrow please

Shelvey got the same against manutd, its down to the ref to say red...suarez didn't say to the ref send him off he tried to win a freekick which was a freekick because rodwell took his legs out from under him.

27 Oct 2012 15:24:52
Look at the amount of confidence BR has in Wisdom considering that BR won't allow the highly rated J Robinson to play on the left flank. That's not to berate Robinson but he just don't want Sterling & Robinson there together because both are so young he would prefer an older player guiding the youngster. But on the right flank he has already played Wisdom & Sterling. So its safe to say that Wisdom has made that position his. As another poster has already mentioned with Assaidi on the left & Johnson bombing down that flank we should be able to get goals. So I consider both flanks & the cb pairing of Agger & Skrtel sorted. We have all the players we need in the midfield & we are starting to get clean sheets now but we still know our best midfield combination. I would stick to Gerrard Allen Sahin. Lucas will need time & Shelvey is not going to replace Gerrard just yet. Suso or Suarez could play as attacking mids if we get a striker in Jan because its obvious we need a striker.

Shelvey very near to replacing Stevie I.M.O

Good post

Joe

Shelvey seems to have lots of mates on here pushing him all the time pity he is not the answer for lfc move him on i say and get a decent player.

27 Oct 2012 14:20:36
Wish moyes would keep his pie hole shut. He's won only 4 games against us in 10 years and still thinks he's favourites! How many times have we heard this? Our under 18 team could beat them, only half decent thing about them is that lanky lad with a bad haircut

Also jumping on the diving bandwagon noisy moisey keep it shut just play football unless he is attempting to get his interview for whiskey nose's job in with tirades against opponents and influencing refs

TC YNWA

Let them talk as they always do, every time the derby comes round theres only 1 team talking themselves up and it always comes back to bite them.
You wouldn't believe that we beat them three times last season, the best being in the semi final when everton were meant to be favourites and look what happened there.
Some people never learn.

Jay

Thought Moyes was alright til he started on Suarez. He's just confirmed that he's nothing but fergie's poodle and after his job. Lost all respect as far as I'm concerned - prat.
ND

Moyes is on a different planet . they are running scared come on you reds 0-2

Good point...except Everton finished above Liverpool last year and are likely to do so again this year. Mind you, so are Newcastle, West Brom, Stoke, Fulham...

AJH

If you had the choice between finishing 8th last year, winning the Carling Cup and beating Everton at Wembley in the FA Cup semi final, OR finishing 7th in the league, not taking the Carling Cup seriously and losing to your bitterest rivals at Wembley in a semi final, which would you choose?
I know which one I would rather have and what the better bragging rights are.

Jay

''Everton finished above Liverpool last year''

And that's all you've got to brag about in 17 years.....it shows how highly you rate Liverpool when all you do is brag about that.

MR EM

Bang on Mr. Em, sad aint it. David Price said to Snods on City today-"Suppose you'll have to rush out another DVd if you do win. Class-says it all

He joke is last year our reserves played their reverses which had 5 first team players playing and it was a draw, but should have been like 3-0 to us

adorjan and suso bossed that game.

27 Oct 2012 14:00:51
Team for everton 433
Reina
Johnson
Agger
Skrtel
Enrique
Gerrard
Allen
Shelvey
Downing
Suarez
Sterling

Downing wont be anywhere near this game and dropping Sahin?
Glad BR picks the team

Jay

27 Oct 2012 15:21:47
Downing? No suso, no Suhin, absolutely no Wisdom. Don't fix what's not broke. I'd replace suso for Gerrard maybe not for the Everton game but it should be done. Assaidi has to get a show before Downing any day of the week. Sterling Assaidi Suso suarez, wow plz. Leem

Heard the team was going to be

Jones
Wisdom
Skrtle
Agger
Glenjo
Allen
Gerrard
Sahin
Suso
Saurez
Sterling

No jonjoe, assaidi or pepe

Chi-Paul

Know its a derby but I wouldn't rule out Suso starting up top like against Norwich. Please don't give me that bunkum about this game being to physical for him because he's proved he's got the mental fortitude to play at this level no problem. It would be unlucky on Assadi who I'd stick him in for allowing Sterling to operate on his more favoured left wing. Think it'll be a close game but Suso could provide that touch of class required to give us a win against our bitter rivals.
JohnBoy

Whens Suso proved he's got Nuts, must've missed that

27 Oct 2012 13:30:56
Eds and fellow reds,
Just an off topic post to better understand people's mentality on where Liverpool are at the moment.
Say you're the boss, who would you buy come the January transfer window?
Really would like to get a response from one of the Eds, at least. {Ed001's Note - no one, we can't afford the players who would improve the first team, so I would rather let the kids gain experience this season.}

If we cant afford a forward in jan fsg should go u cant play luis every game or a kid who has not played a prem match its not fair on the german kid or morgan or br

Ed001 - I totally agree with your comment re the quality, however this scenario is nothing new, we have lacked the - finance, drawing power, lack of insight or foresight, etc to bring the quality that is needed at our club in order to sustain and maintain a top four position and more importantly a Premiership winning team/squad ...why buy and employ more players of average ability, if you never give the youngsters a go then you will never ever know.

Further, if the money or the intention to buy players (and replace those sold), wasn't there prior to the start of the season, what makes people think it will be there in January?

Many fans think simply because the obvious necessity for a striker is there then a striker will be brought in ...the need for another striker has been apparent for a number of years but has it really happened? ...what is your take on things, as it is obvious the manager simply doesn't rate Carroll and he won't return? {Ed001's Note - if the right player becomes available for the right price, then I am sure the owners would find the funds, just like they did for Kenny. The problem is that they didn't want to throw money down the drain on more and more new players, while still being stuck paying the wages of the last lot. The club runs at a loss, it needs to clear out the fringe players, rather than just adding more and more to the wage bill. We need a settled squad, with a settled manager, then we can keep spending within limits and not have such huge turnover of players year on year. People forget how much it costs us to pay off players, even when you sell them you have to pay up their contract or a percentage of it. This is why Rafa's crazy system of a revolving door for players nearly bankrupted the club. What we have now is a guy who will look to coach the players over time, it is not a quick fix, but it can be the long term answer.}

How many more can they clear out? ffs {Ed001's Note - Carroll, Cole, Doni.....}

In my opinion we should buy one world class player every year and build up the acedemy.

27 Oct 2012 12:58:19
Predict the score for tomorrow 0-2 for me have a good feeling about tomorrow.

1,1 at best for me

1-1 for me.
I would put money on there being a red card somewhere as well.

MIKEY

Anything we get tomorrow will be good ..I hope BR put in some of the older players tomorrow, Everton players will try to bully our kids and they will need some old guards to protect them ..
I agree with Mikey , I also expect a red card or two.
Roy

Liverpool -2 win thats my bet

G-Man

4-0 us
Suarez 2
Skrtel
Gerrard
Scouse_Pride

Hope Fellaini doesn't play

27 Oct 2012 12:34:39
I have been impressed with Assidi since he has come in for a small fee top scouting feed up of wasting big money on rubbish

If assidi plays against hibbert I can see hibbert seeing red

I have a friend from holland who couldn't believe lfc were signing him as he only really came on the scene over there after some hat trick and 3 assists in march. He raved about him for months though.

Assaidi £2.4m or Downing £20m?
agree or disagree

27 Oct 2012 12:27:46
We've got to let assaidi run at Hibbert. If so I think that will create most of our chances tomorrow

I think assaidi will play at some point tomorrow probably the last 20 min, I hope I'm wrong and plays for longer, he'll be a nightmare for everton defence.

27 Oct 2012 12:01:57
Hello eds and reds, not to sound negative but only 1 out of our last 14 managers have won their FIRST game at Everton! I dont really remeber who that one manger was because im only 15 but i think we could possibly get a victory!
Redmanluka

King Kenny.

The manger was Kenny Dalglish both times he was manager.

Its lucky for us that stats don't win matches then
derryred

27 Oct 2012 11:22:12
Hi ed's just a few questions for you.

Firsty if, not saying he is coming back but, if once had stayed with us do you think he would of progressed this much?
And regarding our two centre backs come right backs, who is more likely to go back to centre back wisdom or Kelly?
And finally what's your opinion on the next youth player breaking through?

Sorry for the questions Been a thought provoking morning

Kind regards

The southern red {Ed001's Note - once? I really can't think who on earth you mean, sorry. I expect Kelly to be the more likely one to play centre half, purely because he is taller. I am not going to count Yesil, so it would most likely be Robinson who forces his way in.}

I assume he means Ince.
Heard he had a bad attitude.
Thought he was better than he was.
Thought he was worth more than we were prepared to offer.
Thought he should be in the 1st team as a right.

Don't need players around with that sort of attitude, no matter who they are. {Ed001's Note - of course! Sorry, I was being dense. He has an attitude, his dad follows him around interfering and he was not good enough and still isn't. Think about it, him or Sterling? That was the choice, so Ince is gone and good riddance to that complete *censored* of a dad of his.}

I think he is talking about Tom ince .
YNWA
Jamesy

Tom ince is quality! I couldn't believe we let him go.

Well rodgers at Blackpool today watching somebody? {Ed001's Note - I would think it more likely to be either Brighton's Dunk or Blackpool's Phillips.}

27 Oct 2012 11:35:09
There is no point in persisting with Steven Gerrard once the January transfer window comes. He is quite clearly past it, he has no positive influence on the team anymore. His 7.8 million a year cannot be justified anymore and those wages would go significantly towards the wages of a quality finisher. He will be a passenger against Everton tomorrow.

Come January stevie gerrard will still be liverpools best player

King luis

Don't think he is past it as such.
He is just not the awesome carry the team on his own type of player that he was 5 years ago.
Maybe needs to only play once a week these days to get the nest out of him.
It was amazing how many times he gave the ball away against Anzi on Thursday.
I can't remember the last time I saw him get the ball between 15-25 yards out and thought there was a goal coming.
He can still spray the hollywood passes and links-up play well at times, but he is not captain dynamic any more.
It's a shame, but every player comes towards the end of their career and either has to adapt and change his style of play to stay at the club they are with or move onto a slightly lower level.
However, I would start his against Everton tomorrow, as he is always up for these games and hopefully can make me (and a load of others) eat my (and their) words.

Gerrard is getting older he cant play twice a week but he aint past it,still got 2 years in him.
suarez is young and played to many matches lately it will lead to a form dip.
very normal

The things these blue noses get up to on our site....so sad :-)

27 Oct 2012 13:49:45
To third poster you talk about how many times Gerrard gave the ball against Anzhi but you don't talk how he made some fantastic passes to open Anzhi defence. We don't have players who can pass the ball foward in order to open deffenders like him. Allen is good like sahin but they don't pass the ball in danger areas like Gerrard. We need some one to take risks and pass foward rather then back wards or side wards or else will have more draws then wins.

Poor effort you troll. Only surprise is how many reds take those comments seriously.
ND

Gerrard will be our best player for at least the next 2 years. Cannot believe the persons that keep knocking him. Maybe they are fans of Diouf ?

My thoughts on this weekend,s game: (1)i have this funny feeling,we will come out victorious notwithstanding current form of both teams, because as they say form is temporary but class is permanent, and we have a bit of both at the moment in the sense that we have class players all over the squad, but some have not been up to their standards(gerrard, skrtel, enrique)just to mention but a few,the only thing we are lacking is a clinical finisher like falcao. (2)Despite the fact that we use most of our first teamers against anzhi, should not deter the formation of the starting eleven, which i think should be left as it was,but making a few changes later on depending on the outcome of the game at the time (like bringing on assaidi for suso and also shelvey for either sahin or gerrad,YES GERRAD).All in all i think we are in good shape for this game ,bearing in mind that we are unbeaten in the last three games and not conceeding ,and i also think we can cope with the pressure everton will mount on us and the last positive i will consider is that we can control the tempo of the game. So,ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls lets stay positive on this one.

I know that Moyes wants (and expects) to be the successor at OT but he is beginning more and more to sound like the present incumbent with his mind games and nasty comments. I hope that Liverpool give him a real bloody nose tomorrow.
Ben Terug

Yes typical fergie stunt simulated by moyes next door noise,is it me or is it getting a bit tedious,i would of thought a little insight the game and how it ultimately pulls us together before pushing us apart in light of current occurances but alas no point, just the usual bitter tide of blue drival we all anticipated.Liverpool 3 Everton 0 and phil neville to make his third early departure, then moyes to appear in homeland as an insurgent......

I don't believe sahin should start, he hides away from the ball too much, I don't think he's done amazing since he joined I'd rather see suso there

I disagree, event hough Sahin isn't outstanding he still is better at tackling than Suso, and has more of a presence.

He can score too.

Should be Allen, Shelvey and captain fantastic YNWA

Sahin and Suso too lightweight, bang on poster directly above

People who don't rate sahin know nothing about football. Football has changed in the last 10 years. You don't see to many gerrard lamp arid style midfielders these days.

Lol

sahin and suso will be the best on the field watch.....

they both will score

MOYES ON SUAREZ: "I've got concerns about Suarez, yes." He's got history and these people are very good at it.
"Last year was a dive, and the referee made a really poor decision that ruined the game after 15 minutes."

I almost want to see Suarez do a swan dive and get us a winning penalty in extra time after that haha

MIKEY

Of course he's got concerns about Suarez. He doesn't want to have to face him. Despite his faults, he's our best player and Moyes knows that all too well so he's just playing mind games. Although that will never work with Suarez, it'll just motivate him all the more.
solidair

I hope Suarez scores the winner infront of the Blue noses with his hand, from an off side position and celebrates with a dive

Stanz

Stanz ...us Evertonians expect nothing less from you lot and that is being honest.Stef the blue

Its a simple matter of facts, every manager has genuine worry about suarez cheating, he has a history of handballs, dives, biting, racism, abusing fans, hes a disgrace to football, yes hes very very talented when he stays on his feet and goes at defenders with the ball but it doesnt hide the fact that he goes down without contact multiple times each game, the fact he doesnt get anything when actually fouled just makes up for every time he cheats to get a free kick or penalty, and to all liverpool fans going on about fellainis elbows then saying its just because we are scared of suarez sounds to me like you are the ones who are infact scared of fellaini, seems its only liverpool fans that slate him, every fan from other clubs seem to think hes a very good player, personally im worried about the fact that you always get a penalty in the fixture, you lot have had 9 penalties given at goodison in the moyes era, where as in the history of the fixture we have only had one at your ground

scoober steve

None of us have even mentioned Fellaini!! Mind you, he does seem to het sent off on more than the odd occasion.

Steph you typical bitter-remember Pat-i don't dive Nevin? My apse he didnt

Team against Everton; 4-3-3

_______________Reina_____________
Wisdom____Skrtel____Agger__Johnson
_______________Allen______________
__________Gerrard_Sahin___________
Sterling________Suarez_______Assaidi

Reina - (if fit) has to play although Brad Jones isn't a bad replacement

Wisdom - Nothing short of brilliant since he started playing, strong, knows when to pass, pacey (going to be a great defender)

Assaidi - Owned the left flank against Anzhi M. also with Johnson bombing forward all the time we're bound to get a goal from that side.

Time to beat Everton at their own game - playing down the left with Baines and Pienaar - now pienaar is suspended.

If we get a red at the back (50/50 chance) - i think we should stick 3-3-3
with Allen infront of back 3. We have to win this game to show those evertonians we are still the best club in merseyside though current form may suggest otherwise.

JMRED

I have a feeling that Shelvey will be selected ahead of Sahin for this specific match ..........

Yeah spot on mate.
Shelvey and suso will make good impact subs.

MIKEY

Start with Shelvey!

Why is everyone talking as if Ferguson's the first manager ever to play without wingers? Dalglish used to play Henderson-Spearing-Adam-Downing all the time.

Red Ollie

And how crap was Kenny as manager.

What and downing didn't play left wing as a winger?

In his 2nd term - Yes.
He was god in his first term though!!

Kenny reached two cup finals last year, one of which qualified us for europe, how did you do?
NAVANRED

Yeah Kenny was crap alright. After all he only won 3 league titles, 2 FA Cups & 1 League Cup as Liverpool manager. Oh did I forget to mention the League title he won with Blackburn too?

And beating them to get there lol. No wonder they hate us-Beat them every Final played them also

This must be a new brand of LFC fan that seems to think it's ok to slag off KK. Yes what he achieved as a player and first time manager first time around was a long time ago. However, people forget the state of the club when he took over 2nd time. Everybody was down, he got the team playing attacking fast-paced football and I am sure the league situation would have picked up this season. Even though it didn't work out for him and he didn't get the time he should have had, please don't know an absolute legend who has given most of his life to this great club in one way or another.

£20m transfer budget, 4 targets - how to add quality & depth into Liverpool in January. No big names (big players will come in the summer, FSG are serious!)

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar; 29, ST - £5m
Victor Wanyama; 21, DM/CB - £15m
Jang Hyun Soo; 21, CB - £1m
Aly Cissokho; 25, LB - £6m

£27m

Henderson £8m, Pacheco £1.5m and Cole £1.5m will get sold in January - £11m

net spending - £16m

............................Huntelaar............................
......Sterling.....................................Suarez......
.....................Allen............Gerrard...................
...............................Lucas...............................
Cissokho.......Agger...........Skrtel.........Johnson
...............................Reina...............................

Jones, Wisdom, Coates, Wanyama, Sahin, Shelvey, Suso

+ Assaidi, Borini, Kelly, Robinson, Carragher, Hyun-soo, Wilson, Gulacsi.

Then in the summer BR will get £25m to spend which doesn't sound massive but if you add the money we'd get from player sales you'd see that is huge.!

25m + 17m(carroll) + 7m(downing) + 6m(enrique) = £55m, striker £26m, winger up to 11m, AM up to £18m.

Considering cissokho is a first team player for VALENCIA it is unlikelry

Did you see hunterlaar's spurs gesture after the arsenal game? Think he wants a move to spurs

I don't think Huntelaar would be a good move, if you want a short term quick fix solution, then fine, providing he almost hits the ground running..... I still feel we missed out on a striker that could have done that, and would have cost similar money, had/has more years ahead of him than KJH, and is also a natural goal scorer, the name of this striker is Jackson Martinez, he's very quick, powerful, good in the air, good with both feet, can score the "scruffy" and "amazing" goals and moved to Porto for about £7mil. I know that both players mentioned could both be flops in the Premier league, but I was very surprised we didn't really make an attempt to sign Martinez, especially going on his goal scoring record and the fee he was available for.

I would still keep Henderson as I think he has great potential and does a job when called upon. He's still young and can develop into the player Rodgers wants him to be.

We don't need a left back with the abundance of youth talent we have coming through.

I agree Huntelaar would be a good piece of business if we could get him but if not Sturridge, Walcott and Llorente are also I tot he last 6 months of their contracts in January too.

Any of these strikers would be good additions to our squad if we could convince them that our club is the place to be.

Jonesred.

No chance of four deals in January - its never a good time to buy and getting poor value and blocking the youngsters from getting more game-time in our transitional season makes no sense. Paying fees for players you can get on a free also makes little sense. And I wouldn't pay £15m for a player who you admit is back-up to Lucas.

I think there is a chance of Huntelaar in January and a summer like this would be good in terms of money spent and improving overall quality of squad.

Walcott or Sturridge free
Sahin 14m or Holtby free
Taylor 5m
Clasie 8m

Carroll (17m), Downing (8m), Enrique (5m),
Spearing (1.5m), Pacheco (1.5m), Cole
(Free), Wilson (0.5m)

Reina/Jones (or better gk to pressure Pepe)
Johnson/Kelly/Wisdom
Taylor/Robinson (Johnson)
Skrtel/Agger/Coates/Carragher (Wisdom)
Lucas/Clasie/Henderson
Allen/Sahin or Holtby/Gerrard
Shelvey/Suso (Gerrard or Holtby)
Walcott/Assaidi
Huntelaar/Borini/Yesil
Suarez/Sterling

In the near future wanyama would become DM with lucas playing the xavi role (which he is more than capable of doing) and allen along side him in a 4123

...............Huntelaar
Sterling.....................suarez
...........Allen..........Lucas
................Wanyama

With Gerrard playing Thursday night i would have to say that Shelvey would be my pick to start with Stevie starting on the bench.

Shelvey does not have the technical attributes of Stevie yet, but his legs should be a little fresher due to his age.

Don't get me wrong, Stevie is a legend and a brilliant football player but we are going to need fresh legs in the midfield.

Allen, Sahin and Shelvey for me in the Derby.

Allen will do a sensational job on Mirallas. Sahin to create and Shelvey in those attacking areas.

Thoughts?

Lee

Sahin ahead of Gerrard in a hard mans game. Do me a favour.

Stevie gee all the time untill he can not play.

I would like to get a feel for how many on here now see what Rodgers is trying to do, and sees that it's actually starting to come together. This is the right way in my opinion! Agree?

pronin

There will be plenty of ups and downs thats what we all have to realise so if we dont do well on sunday will the eds please block the negative posts. as pronin is saying we are really heading in the right direction and i have to say its great to watch at the moment kenny had the team playing well at times but not consistently enough and thats what brendan needs to get.Tommy Irish Red

hey eds and liverpool fans, missed the game last night and was just watching a few videos of it there,it looked as tho assaidi had a very good game!I think he is a quality addition to the team, very tricky and very direct.BR has done a very good job with this team, bringing through young players and he has also bought some very good players.I am beginning to really enjoy watching liverpool playing again!
this is the team id play at everton:
Reina
wisdom-agger-skrtel-johnson
allen-gerrard
sahin
sterling-suarez-assaidi/suso

ed who do you think will start suso or assaidi?
cheers
Quinner {Ed052's Note - I think it'll be Suso}

What people think about Charlie Austin. banged 18 goals in 14 games this season.

used to watch him at Swindon, mentioned him then on here over a year ago, but one of the eds thought he wasn't good enough. what do you think now eds?. would be a cheap buy. max 5 million?

think the lad is going to be a star.

J.Hunt {Ed001's Note - no and he has off field issues.}

I used to watch him at Swindon aswell!

Well, it was agreed Being Liverpool was a bit of a mis-step, but right now it feels good. In general I see myself as the "educated" LFC fan. What BR is trying is a massive gamble, but he's sticking with the players delivering what he want's and ruthlessly cutting good players not buying in. i have a optimistic persona that says 4th place is a realistic target, not a definite but a good target. We're so much better than the Kenny team from the 2nd half of last year. Com'on BR keep growing!

How could you not support that manager i think that he is the best signing we have made since ian rush was bought from chester.Tommy Irish Red
