Sorry fellow reds, just a rant!

Anyone see the 'penalty' awarded to Spurs this afternoon? When are refs going to sort themselves out and get consistent on this? If they award one, then they'll have to award all of them, any ball that strikes a hand in whatever circumstance.
Not Livepool related but Football related. interested to hear your thoughts on this Eds and fellow reds

Steve Bruce's team got completely robbed and Tottingham get a ridiculous penalty.

Just watching the rugby highlights and the officials spend nearly no time correctly awarding decisions.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop bitching, all teams get their fair share of dodgy penalties, brother luis does well for Liverpool doesn't he!

Agree0 Disagree0

They've won 3 matches 1-0 with penalties this season hopefully there luck changes

Agree0 Disagree0

I won't worry about it - these calls get ironed out over the course of the season. They will have days when soft penalties will be awarded against them, or will find it harder to have penalties given to them.

hi! I have bought three tickets for the arsenal match on Nov 2 from a Liverpool fan. Any help on how to know whether the tickets are original or will I get cheated.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If you give them to me I will quite happily check them at the turnstiles on Sat afternoon with 2 mates to see if we get in. If not you've been had. :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha! I think I will try your idea with me and my friends!

Nice goal by Borini today. Good for him.

Not directly LFC related, but anyone keeping count of how many penalties Spurs are getting this season? Seems like every game they are getting bailed out with one.

No, they can't get Bale'd out anymore. He is playing (or not) for Real Madrid.

So Borini scores a screamer for Sunderland against Newcastle.

Good on him, I'm happy for him, but let's not go mental after 1 goal. Newcastle are not the tightest defence in the league.
I'll be more impressed if he goes on to score another 14 goals this season. 1 goal does not make him good enough.
If he wants a regular role at Anfield he needs to score regularly, not 1 goal per season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Who are you to give a player who has had a injury last season and low on confidence and comment like that give credit where it's due he's a Liverpool player you should praise him not give him a hard time you person
Special shout out to wisdom who got man of the match in his first game future looking good

Agree0 Disagree0

In my opinion if he is to have a future at Liverpool then he has to match the goal returns of Suarez and Sturridge.
Obviously we are a better team than Sunderland so let's say if he gets 10 -15 goals for Sunderland this season then that would be a good return. The problem for him is that Fletcher and Borini are too similar and can't play together in my opinion. So he is fighting with Fletcher for a place alongside the battering ram (altidore).
I think he will get some game time though as Fletcher only has to sneeze and he will be out for 4 weeks. The same could be said about Borini!

Eds001 am interested to know what you mean by Suarez wanting a big pay day, if we are really title contenders, and secure that top 4 place, is that something we could offer in a new contract? Or are we talking a stupid amount of money. Thanks, Matt {Ed001's Note - you get much more when you move club, 5% of the transfer fee, signing bonus and pay rise. It would be in the millions, stupid money is very much the description.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So I assume that's why Zlatan keeps moving clubs? {Ed001's Note - I am sure that does play a role.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Man I would happily play for Liverpool nothing! As long as they bought be a house I would find a job to pay for food and petrol.

Agree0 Disagree0

But your a Liverpool fan he grew up in a shanty town and left his morales behind him haha his don't no I hope he stays but he won't for ever we need to get crazy money for him I'll be happy roma sold two players built a good team naploli the same spurs well got good players just not a team yet so it could go either way with out Luis

Agree0 Disagree0

Dezyboy - how Hood Did we do last Time we were suppose to rebuild our team? Under hodgson and Kenny? You can rebuild a good team but we can easily fail as previosly

Hello, I've seen a lot of rumors about us being linked to el shaarawy do you think we actually are considering signing him or is it just newspapers making things up, if we are after him what is the likelihood of us signing him because I think he will be a cracking player for us, he's young, fast, descent shot and very promising, if we played him on a wing or maybe even cam he would really strengthen up our squad. I really hope we sign el shaarawy but I was just checking hoe interested we really are. Thanks
Frosty :)

Hi eds,
What a start for us so far! I ve read the Suarez posts recently. If it's money he's after. Won't Liverpool offer a big pay day to keep him? Particularly if we do well all season.
Cheers fellas timo

Hi Eds, I've read that we are in interested in two attacking midfielders - Javier Pastore and Alexandru Maxim. Both look top drawer to me. Do you know if there's any legs in these rumours? Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Read the post please.}

Just wanted to say that we have taken 5 more points from the same corresponding fixtures last season with 5 more games to go to still improve
on last season's points tally from those teams.

Utd, Westbrom & Stoke away- Sunderland & Villa
at Anfield.

If we beat Newcastle & Swansea at home and then Saints away( our new boggie team) we will equal last seasons Points tally from last season against those 3.

So anyone saying we haven't improved is completely wrong in any way shape or form you look at it. Have a complete lack of understanding of facts and numbers.

Looking at those fixtures we will have improved at least 10-12 points from the same teams.

Also Liverpool raise their game massively in the big games. All the doom gloomers like to say we will meet Everton, Arsenal, City, Chelsea & City but NO game is easy in the PL and we only lost 1 of those 5 fixtures last season by the way and could have easily picked all points at Arsenal & City. Those teams should worry about us, not the other way around, we are much stronger than the time we met any of them last year and the pressure is on them NOT us, they (apart from Everton, no disrespect) are the title contenders.

Get behind the team and keep the faith:)
YNWA lads.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

When suarez is on from you should fear Liverpool he carried us last season
Sturridge is on form fear Liverpool he carried us for the first 4 matches
When SAS are in from anything is possible

Good to see our top 3 strikers all scoring this weekend. Hopefully Borini gets a decent run and some confidence now, he's got the talent just needs to show it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2013 15:39:11
Borini scored a cracker.
Why can't he do this for Liverpool. {Ed002's Note - Because he is on loan at Sunderland.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Oct 2013 16:00:38
You're too good sometimes ed:)

But because he hasn't had a decent chance? Because he had no confidence? Because of our section of boo boys who got on his back so much the guy seemed to hate his life?
Many reasons, but only an ignorant chap would write off a 21 year old Italian international for being injured badly for most parts of last season!

Agree0 Disagree0

Because on form we have the best striking partnership in the world

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah his goal put Suarez' goals and Sturridge's goal to bed. What a load of jokers you people are.
Borini is a plain striker, plays for the last team in the PL and scores just one simple goal and everyone goes mad. Get over it, we made a mistake and he needs to be shipped.

For everyone interested, there's a great video of how suso is coming along at Almeria that has been uploaded to youtube by a guy called scoutnation. Everyone should try and give it a watch. I'm really surprised at the amount of times he's trying to beat a man and he looks like he is oozing confidence.
Cheers

Hello eds, I wrote a post about a youtube video showcasing suso's time so far at Almeria and recommended that fellow reds watch it to get an idea as to how he is getting on in spain. i'm just wondering why it never got added to the page. Was because I put a link to a youtube video in the post? Just curious for future reference. Keep up the good work {Ed001's Note - it probably got swallowed by the spam filter, due to either the mention of youtube or a link if there was one.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ok thanks ed001 for the reply. The poster Notintheknow mentioned the same video anyway so its fine, as long as people know the videos there.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Was a bit strange to show a mid table game first when the top 4 were all in action;-)

Oh don't worry, Sky only wanted to show the relegation battle between Stoke and Utd to get some money!

As far as I can see Rodgers is set on this formation for now (and I like that, it's working well, and brings the best out of the players we have). So we can safely assume that at least 8 of the team that started yesterday will start against Arsenal.

But for me the biggest question is, does Coutinho come back in in AMC, and if he does, who misses out?

It won't be Stevie, so that comes down to Hendo or Lucas, both have been impeccable and both have a point to prove, who do you think will be dropped?

4-3-3. would do it.
we need some creativity in the squad. and countinho is a must.

Agree0 Disagree0

4-3-3 with Coutinho, Suarez and Sturridge up top and Hendo, Gerrard and Lucas in the middle

I've been waiting for a match to occur when I could use the incredibly bad pun 'Hender's Game' but yesterday I thought Jordan was fantastic. Lucas bridged the gap between defence and midfield, giving Jordan much more room to operate. Whilst Lucas stayed firm, Henderson was allowed to roam, and considering his energy levels and what I believe is becoming his trademark of closing down opponents all over the pitch it worked perfectly. I believe midfield is our weakest area, simply because we do not have the depth to maintain such an effort throughout the entire season, however if we can keep going until January with midfield performances like yesterday then we could deliver some big shocks to the other top teams if this area is strengthened further.

I think yesterday's game was huge for us. Game before the current leaders, against a team who beat us twice last season and who have recently beat the current reigning champions. We did it with ease.

Can't wait for the Arsenal match, I'm betting its going to be an all out battle, and as much as I dislike Suarez's character, I think he will show Wenger why that £40,000, 001 bid was insulting.

Henderson could have saved himself months of abuse from the fans if Fergies comments had been 12 months ago!

Good morning fellow reds. Just got back to Glasgow and I am still on cloud 9. It doesn't get any better than taking your son to his first game at Anfield and getting a performance like that from Liverpool. I have to thank the team and all the people in the city for making us feel so welcome and making my sons day one he will remember forever. Thank you Liverpool. Tremendous. YNWA

Hi eds
do u have any updates on the continuo injury situation I really hope he is fit for arsenal we need his creativity in midfield {Ed002's Note - He should be fine if selected.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think Coutinho will be on the bench v Arsenal. I can't see how we can drop any of Lucas, Gerrard and Henderson after yesterday. Henderson really drives the team forward and was constantly pressing there back four. We need to be at Arsenals midfield.

Rogers has got a real problem on his hands now coutinho is back, a good problem tho. I don't expect anything to change for the arsenal game but we no Rodgers doesn't change what's not broken so I can see coutinho having a spell as a sub just like agger. Only change hopefully is Enrique for cissoko.
This formation suits Suarez and sturridge. But the only way to get Lucas gerrard hendo cout Suarez sturridge in the same 11 is to play a 433 which would put Suarez or sturridge on the right. I really don't see that happening. A good problem to have tho!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why not 4-2-2-2? Or 4-3-1-2? Personally 4-3-1-2 would give defence a lot of cover, give the ability for Gerard/Henderson to move forward with Lucus holding in the middle of the 3 and cout slotted behind SAS?

Agree0 Disagree0

The 4312 leaves the fullbacks unprotected or causes the midfield players to shift to help the fullbacks and as a result leaving gaps in front of the CB.

They say average 2 points a game and you'll be there or there about come the end of the season. We are averaging 2.2 points a game.

Just a thought.

Onwards and upwards

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mate we still have to play spurs, city and chelsea. If in 10 games time we are still averaging 2.2 points a game then we can start to dream.

Agree0 Disagree0

No that's Arsenal, Everton, Spurs, ManCity, Chelsea.
