Loved Klopp's comment about 71 goals in his short time as manager.

Klopp simply replied "Nice. Can we watch all of them? ”

proper liverpool fan.

28 Sep 2016 16:21:25
That was cool.

27 Sep 2016 21:50:48
Just looking at rm and dortmund game, just a draw whereas we beat dortmund when we played them. . how do people think our current squad would get on against real madrid now? Just thinking and looking back last time we met in the champions league and they bet us our starting 11 consisted of mignklet manquillo skrtle toure moreno Allen can lucas lallana markovic and borini. Mad to think only one of those started our game at the weekend crazy how much a team can change in the space of two years and u nearly forget all the players who come and go, even our bench had Gerrard Johnson sterling balotelli etc, I'd be so much more confident facing them this year!

Believable4 Unbelievable9

27 Sep 2016 22:34:44
I've just been to that game and I think we'd stand a chance against either of them. Not necessarily beat them but at least a chance with the way we are playing.

Madrid were not that good today but took their chances well. Dortmund looked good going forward but not great at the back.

Bale wasn't great but that is more down to Dortmund and the way they controlled the game. 63% possession in the first half against Real Madrid.

Dembele looks like he'll be a world beater one day. Shame we missed out but Mane will have to do! Pulisic was also lively when he came on. Hope we land him in the next few years.

28 Sep 2016 01:37:41
Id rather have mane anyway :/

Liverpool the way we are playing could give any team a good run for their money, even barca. I believe we're good enough when in this form.

28 Sep 2016 12:30:39
calm down guys, there's a desperate need for balance on this site. after the burnley game it was all doom and gloom, nothings changed, mid table team etc etc (which was clearly an over-reaction) . now we've won a few games and played great football we can all of sudden take on the real madrids of the world.

one step at a time, there's a long way to go until we find out if our team finishes high enough to have the opportunity to prove you right.

you can't site our game against dortmund as a barometer for how we stack up against madrid. we beat them, it was a special night but we could just as easily draw or lose to them now.

all this expectation hype will lead to another massive over-reaction if we lost a couple of our next games.

one game at a time guys and let's see where we end up!

queue the disagrees ;)

28 Sep 2016 14:19:24
You may be right but you can't argue that on our current form we can take on anybody? We're playing incredible, yes it's early. All of this means nothing. Point is, against higher profiled clubs we'd give them a good go. To me, we're a much better team now when you compare to the team what beat dortmand. Early or not have some confidence. I do understand your post but try not be so negative.

28 Sep 2016 16:26:10
he can be hopeful, excited and be realistic, all at the same time, 87red. As for us going against RM and the like, we have no problems with giving these teams a good game in the past and with the team we have now, we are more than a match for anyone more so now than in the past due to Klopp`s ability to outwork and out play and outcoach teams/ managers. Also remember, Klopp has played Real before and they got a right good hiding in one of the 4 times he beat them so if he ain`t scared, I ain`t scared.

28 Sep 2016 18:00:59
Ha, I'm really not being negative lads. I'm delighted with our form, I'm just keeping my feet on the ground that's all!

27 Sep 2016 21:29:02

27 Sep 2016 19:44:12
Hi Eds

Ive seen a few thing flying about regarding Munich coming back in for Klopp in the summer. Is this nonsence? I hope so.

Believable0 Unbelievable14

{Ed001's Note - it is September mate, come on, think about it.}

27 Sep 2016 20:19:48
Klopp hates bayam did you not see the joke last season he was laughing because they lose.

27 Sep 2016 20:20:48
Comedy post of the year and a superb reply Ed001.

28 Sep 2016 16:30:13
It must be Open Mic night at the comedy club hence, Lfc Forever is honing his jokes.

27 Sep 2016 20:10:41
How funny is that! Big Sam's dream job gone because he must have dreamt about a few more quid a little more than managing his country.
So it seem's being the highest paid manager on £3 mill wasn't enough, greedy ****. Good riddance to him.

Believable13 Unbelievable14

27 Sep 2016 20:31:35
Highest paid manager? You mean highest paid England manager? I think what's important from this is some of the revelations he made during the interview. It seems there's more corruption than I once thought, but it's not really surprising. I always knew there where indirect ways of influencing the game, and even sometimes results. I bet one of the names he mentioned was Alex ferguson.

27 Sep 2016 21:12:30
Shouldn't the concern be to close this loop hole rather blame Allardyce. Shouldn't investigations be on agents who are doing it all e time as Allardyce has alleged?

27 Sep 2016 21:22:25
No Lee, as well as not rather than.

27 Sep 2016 20:14:49
Couldn't happen to a nicer fella! Can't wait to read Rafa's sympathy tweet to 'Big Sam'!

27 Sep 2016 21:52:57
Will Sam be the first manager to ever be sacked with a 100% record?

27 Sep 2016 19:16:06
Thanks eds for posting the link to my fundraising page! And thanks to those that donated.

I know you shouldn't get annoyed by the disagree button but don't understand how people can disagree with certain things on here. Doesn't make any sense to me.

Thank again for all the hard work ed's and interested to see where the next few days with the telegraph goes.

28 Sep 2016 01:42:30
Good luck with it all mate.

28 Sep 2016 07:56:12
It's called immaturity and a severe lack of intelligence - or knuckle draggers as ed02 said. Don't let them bother you mate. It's beyond sad really.

{Ed002's Note - I struggle with it as well - personally I would can the buttons.}

27 Sep 2016 06:36:29
Morning Eds/ Reds

So it seems there is ways around 3rd party ownership with transfers to England. It seems big sam is a big dope, i don't know if you've seen the news eds and apparantly there is more revelations to come!

Secondly eds if i can pick your brains on the topic of T. U. E's (steroid injections for theraputic use) i was wandering if it was used and how common in football?

Thanks as always!
LFK.

Believable0 Unbelievable10

{Ed002's Note - There is no legal away around third party ownership. Steroids can be used but exemptions are required.}

27 Sep 2016 18:31:37
How do steroids get you round 3rd party ownership?

{Ed002's Note - Only in tablet form.}

27 Sep 2016 18:58:53
Easy, steroids equal rapid exponential muscle growth and then you can beat up anyone who has a problem with you having players with 3rd party ownership.

27 Sep 2016 19:09:28
There you go ron! Didn't even have to pay big sam 400 large ones to find that out.

27 Sep 2016 19:31:42
Magician, nice one mate, that made me chuckle.

27 Sep 2016 20:00:34
What an absolute idiot he is.

When not selected previously spent ages bemoaning English coaches not getting a chance.

And messes his up immediately.

27 Sep 2016 18:48:47
Ahhhhh I see.

27 Sep 2016 17:59:26
So Ian Ayre will take over as general manager at German club TSV 1860 Munich when he leaves Liverpool next summer it's being reported.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

27 Sep 2016 19:06:56
He so bad in football knowledge he tot he went to Bayern.

27 Sep 2016 19:26:24
I'll add reading minds to your resume Leek.

27 Sep 2016 20:36:31
Back at it again Lee!

27 Sep 2016 12:51:59
Hi Ed2, I wondered if you'd like to comment on Allerdyce's situation, I'd like to hear your take.

My initial impression is that what he's said is stupid but he hasn't technically done anything wrong.

Believable1 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - I think your initial impression is correct. I also think that one EPL side are again sailing close to the wind with a player taken on this summer. If there is a problem with his ownership they will certainly be demoted.}

27 Sep 2016 18:25:38
Should we be worried Ed002?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

27 Sep 2016 18:26:08
Would that team be West Ham Ed002?!

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

27 Sep 2016 18:33:22
Please for gods sake confirm that team is not liverpool😂.

{Ed041's Note - it's not.

27 Sep 2016 18:24:13
No chance it could be Pogba Ed? 😉.

{Ed002's Note - No Ron.}

27 Sep 2016 18:55:53
This tweet made me laugh

"Sam Allardyce is a disgrace and needs to be punished, humiliated and made an example of. Therefore he should continue as England manager"

27 Sep 2016 23:51:14
Thank god it's not us 😅👍.

27 Sep 2016 18:57:03
Would that player be Jonathan Calleri by any chance ed002?

{Ed002's Note - Yes. It is unusual and something that the football authorities would like to end. It is embroiled in an investment company called the Stellar Group who financially control Deportivo Maldonado, a Uruguayan side with no real facilities and a small fan base. They legally hold (or have held) the rights to a number of players who are high profile (Jonathan Calleri, Alex Sandro and Pablo Osvaldo all come to mind) and were "purchased" and then sold on at a significant profit to the London-based investment company and the agent who deals with most of these players, Gustavo Arribas, who is also the Director General of the Argentinian Intelligence Agency. Manchester City would like to purchase Rulli outright but only 70% of his rights are for sale and he cannot therefore play in England. To overcome this, Manchester City have sold their portion of his ownership and Deportivo Maldonado have sold part of their portion of his ownership (in reality Stellar's and Arribas' portion) to Real Sociedad and then agreed to sell the remaining 30% over a three year period to Real Sociedad to overcome Spanish rules regarding part ownership. Manchester City for their part in facilitating this has and agreement that they can buy the goalkeeper for something like €15m once he is fully owned by Real Sociedad (or for a cost of €15M plus a negoiated fee for the remaining rights). As with any buy back clause, they would need to any higher offer made by another side in the future. Rulli would not be eligible for a UK work permit but I understand that he will seek a European passport. That would be seen by the UK as a passport of convenience and would not help him. The player knew that if he moved to Manchester City he would have to be loaned out and eventually probably sold. Like Calleri, none of this is illegal but perhaps it should be - it is well beyond the third party ownership that is rife in South America. Deportivo Maldonado is a effectively a shell for Stellar and Arribas to exploit Uruguayan tax laws.}

27 Sep 2016 19:34:16
Thought so Ed002 after Valencia's transfer. Which player is it this time?!

{Ed002's Note - Calleri.}

27 Sep 2016 20:09:20
Sorry eds a little confused with it all. Are west ham in trouble for the same thing as when they signed tevez and mascherano?

{Ed002's Note - It is not the same thing but it is something that could potentially lead them in to trouble if Calleri's ownership is not what they have been told and accepted.}

27 Sep 2016 20:24:09
Thanks Ed2, it will be an interesting week.

27 Sep 2016 20:37:29
Honestly that was my take from it as well. I just feel like that is something you reveal in a book or something, not as England's manager and working for the FA. At least he outed the FA a bit, who are the reason our national team is a shambles and why the game in England is badly mismanaged.

27 Sep 2016 21:38:42
Which player Ed? Have West ham learnt nothing about 3rd party ownership from the tevez masch saga.

{Ed002's Note - West Ham were given assurances that all was well. We have to hope that is true.}

28 Sep 2016 00:21:50
Thanks for the response ed002, I remember an article at the start of the year on Brighton Hove and Albion ending their interest in Calleri because of an investment group with his rights held by Maldonado but there being no intention of him playing there just to sit with the club until he is resold.

Graham Shear was mentioned to be involved as well (the one who was involved in several Tevez transfers I think? ) . So when Calleris loan to West Ham went through I had wondered how these issues were resolved. Given your information it looks like they might not have been.

27 Sep 2016 14:25:57
I am pleased lallana is finally getting the credit he deserves. I have always rated him and he is now producing. Well done lad.

Believable11 Unbelievable7

27 Sep 2016 15:31:51
He was mostly frustrating in my opinion - he has always had all the tools in his locker, but couldn't quite use them all at the appropriate times. He appears to have gotten to grips with Klopp's ideas.

I too am delighted, partially because I have always said that he could be a great player if he knew what he should be doing. Most people seemed to want rid of him and take a big hit on his purchase price, so I am delighted that his high price tag is beginning to look like a fair price. Hopefully this time next year it will look cheap!

Long may his Cruyf turns lead to even more goals.

27 Sep 2016 15:34:05
I've criticised the lad in the past for his endless turns but fair play to him, he's played very well this season. Deserves a pat on the back🙂.

27 Sep 2016 16:28:22
Agreed Ron. Not so easy to pick holes in a player when the team is playing well and winning. Long may it continue.

27 Sep 2016 17:33:10
Early days but so far so good eh!

27 Sep 2016 17:54:30
In full agreement, lallana is stepping up to the plate and the same can be said for most of the boys.

27 Sep 2016 13:47:15
After discussion yesterday about Curtis Davis and his opinions on how Liverpool are playing at the moment, I went on his Twitter page and there saw a link to Paddy Berger's goal against Charlton in 2004. What a hit son!

Believable5 Unbelievable3

27 Sep 2016 13:43:13
Quick question Ed001. what's your thoughts on Totti as a man and player? Would you have had him at LFC?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - I never really took any notice of him, as Italian football has been so awful to watch in his time. I know me mam loves him, but that is purely so she can wear a shirt with Totti on the back, bless her.}

27 Sep 2016 15:30:33
I know Gerrard had/ has a man crush on him.

27 Sep 2016 14:16:32
Your ma' sounds like mine mate! When David Ginola or Jamie Redknapp came on MOTD, me and my Da' used to roll our eyes "'ere we go again son".

It's a great shame about Italian football as many of my favourite players graced from Italy. Baresi, Maldini, Baggio, Batistuta, Buffon, Del Piero, Fachetti and the list carries on and on. Totti was iconic, very few players in the game have represented a club and be such a figure almost a god!

You think of cans, you think of coke. You think of burgers, you think of MacDonalds. You think of Roma you think of Totti.

Legend.

{Ed001's Note - she never cared about those, it was Paddy Berger for her. She had pictures, calendars, shirts etc. When I think of Roma, I think of those vile pricks that stab people. I hate Roma with a passion. Disgusting club and I would be happy if it went out of business. They are an Italian Millwall.}

27 Sep 2016 17:20:56
I feel the same about Celtic when they burn flags and poppies on remembrance Sunday. Scum.

{Ed001's Note - how is that the same? The Irish have a very genuine reason to detest the British forces (as do many nationalities around the world) due to their treatment. They weren't attacking anyone or stabbing people for the sake of it. Roma fans are a genuine problem in football, they were attacking old men and children in 1984 when we faced them in the European Cup final, and they have not changed now in 2016. This is nothing like the same, to even suggest it is shows a complete lack of understanding of genuine issues over vile thuggery.}

27 Sep 2016 18:01:56
well said ed01.

27 Sep 2016 18:32:02
I never knew Roma were that bad, i always thought it was Lazio who were the nasty Rome club.

27 Sep 2016 18:53:40
Batistuta was from Argentina, LOL.

27 Sep 2016 19:21:27
Saw him captain the Italy u16's at Wembley. A lad from the same youth team as me but 6 years older was England captain that day.

He now manages Bognor.

Fates a cruel mistress.

27 Sep 2016 20:08:46
Problem with that statement ed01 is they aren't Irish.

{Ed001's Note - the fans are so where is the problem?}

27 Sep 2016 23:03:24
Mickey b if you grew up here in Belfast during the troubles you might look at things differently. I think the burning of flags, emblems are totally wrong but I couldn't and wouldn't wear a poppy (no offence btw) as it would go against a lot of things I believe in.

27 Sep 2016 23:56:43
Twinkle toes
I'm interested in what you've said. There were Irishmen who fought Fascism in WW2 and more notably in the Spanish civil war
How are they viewed and remembered?
Personally I think the poppy is a universal symbol and I wear one to remember the dead and wasted lives on all sides - lest we forget and repeat the mistakes of the past - and I do respect your views and know enough Irish history to have some understanding of why you might hold those views.

27 Sep 2016 12:41:36
Klopp having worked in media before has really mastered the art of saying everything but giving away nothing. U will have thought 1 hr show he would have given away his tactics but no! How he did that?

Believable4 Unbelievable6

27 Sep 2016 13:19:54
Next thing you know we will be praising Klopp for the way he handles bathroom breaks. I love having Klopp as a manager but can we refrain from praising his every move? It's just an interview.

27 Sep 2016 14:04:17
It's magic, isn't it?

27 Sep 2016 16:52:29
Klopp knows how to handle a toilet and deserves credit for this.

27 Sep 2016 11:00:59
Hi Ed001,

What are your views on Houillers time as manager? Did you like him as well?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - mixed, I liked the trophies he won, but hated having to sit there and watch such boring, negative football. I also hated that the coaching was so bad that every player regressed at the club. Nice enough bloke outside of the game, but not a nice bloke as a manager. Most of all, I can't forgive him for choosing to side with the poison dwarf and sell Fowler. Especially the way it was done, which left a nasty taste in the mouth.}

27 Sep 2016 11:37:35
Yeah Fowler really didn't deserve that. How did Owen have that influence at the club?

{Ed001's Note - because he was Ged's baby. Ged loved him and did everything based around him.}

27 Sep 2016 12:09:58
I take it you were relieved when we decided to not go for him in 05? Did he want the return to Liverpool?

{Ed001's Note - yes and yes, he was begging to return but Rafa didn't want the poisonous little weasel.}

27 Sep 2016 12:22:29
Cheers for the responses Ed.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}

27 Sep 2016 13:04:03
Can I ask exactly what happened between Thommo and Fowler Ed? It's a bit before my time and I have heard varying accounts of what went on.

{Ed001's Note - it was a set up to get Robbie out mate. Fowler was taking practice shots and Thommo said the ball hit him on the nose and they had a big argument about it. Really it was just an excuse for Ged to sell him and not lose too many of the fans, who adored Fowler over everyone.}

27 Sep 2016 13:24:09
fowler being sold was like the Kennedy assassination everyone remembers where they where when the news broke. Gutted I was, horrible day.

27 Sep 2016 13:42:28
To be fair, if he wanted to hit that nose he wouldn't have had much trouble!

27 Sep 2016 14:55:53
Looks to be Fowler having the last laugh though. He's been a great ambassador for he club the past few years popping up all over the place and seems to be happy to be back, meanwhile the little muppet is probably digging through discarded betting tickets at the track.

27 Sep 2016 15:12:08
Difficult, even for Fowler, to avoid hitting that nose.

27 Sep 2016 15:43:33
Houllier manipulated the media, the club and the fans.
Please read Robbies autobiography its deals with this issue brilliantly.
Houlliers signings towards the end were pitiful
Rember these greats
Dioff (spelling)
Diao
Biscan
Cheyroo ( the new zidane Houllier quoted)
La Tallec
Jummy traore
Singa pongolle
I could go on and on.

Houllier shafted Roy Evans,
Let Mcmaamen go on a free . Let Michael Owen run his contract down so so he could leave for a ridiculous low price.
HE was ruthless.
He also wanted to succeed somuch he nearly killed himself.

After see what he did a villa.

27 Sep 2016 16:33:13
Comment of the day fro DecG, go lie down in the corner son you've earned it.

27 Sep 2016 14:16:48
All news to me, thanks for the info ed1.

{Ed001's Note - you are welcome.}

27 Sep 2016 16:58:06
Lad's Stevie Wonder would have hit that snoz.

27 Sep 2016 17:26:24
Carragher has always said houlier was the best coach he ever played for. If he did not have his heart attack I think we would have won the title in 2002.

27 Sep 2016 17:40:14
I take it you don't approve of Owens role within the club now then huh ed? 😂.

{Ed001's Note - he should be nowhere near the club in any role. Unless they need a target for the balls to hit.}

27 Sep 2016 17:49:03
Ed001 does the fact that Rafa then went to bring God back make his refusal to sign Owen even sweeter for you? It does me! I wonder how Owen felt about that?

{Ed001's Note - damn right it does. Rafa understood that Fowler cared about the club but Owen just cared about money.}

27 Sep 2016 18:26:54
Is Owen a better target than Thommo's beak?

{Ed001's Note - smaller target.}

27 Sep 2016 18:28:42
How did Owen get the roll in the first place Ed?

{Ed001's Note - because he is well known.}

27 Sep 2016 07:25:05
Short notice I know, but I'm back home in Liverpool this Friday for only 10 days. Anyone know how I can get a ticket to the Swansea game? I'm coming from Oz so will be a bit tired but have a hire car and am willing to make the drive. Cheers in advance.

I think it's all sold out mate, unless somebody knows of website I'm unaware of.

27 Sep 2016 10:32:04
Disagree with what exactly?

27 Sep 2016 12:14:15
Ignore it mate, it's just the trolls.

27 Sep 2016 14:23:03
Few people on twitter who do tickets. Worth a look.

27 Sep 2016 14:28:27
Always worth phoning the the home team directly. A few times I've bought tickets that way, ticket was for home stand but blagged my way into the away end because of my Scouse accent.

I think getting them from Liverpool is a no go

I'm currently trying to get some myself as it's my birthday on Saturday, revenge for the 3-1 loss last season would be nice.
