Hi All,

Does anyone know if Man will be available for the Utd game on 15 Jan? Shame is not as I feel his pace as been key for LFC this year.

YNWA.

28 Dec 2016 22:36:11
Mane will miss both UTD and Chelsea.

28 Dec 2016 22:38:37
No he misses that game unfortunately.

28 Dec 2016 23:29:38
Quincy Promes will be available for that game though.

29 Dec 2016 00:57:54
So will Studge and Couts. By the way, who is this Quincy Promes you speak of?

29 Dec 2016 01:18:22
I think Promes is the 3 week rental that will win us the league!

29 Dec 2016 07:14:43
Ha ha ha. Faith restored Faithinworks.

29 Dec 2016 12:12:24
Faithinworks, u could do stand-up comedy. sitting down.

29 Dec 2016 18:28:05
Spot on, Wembley. That post from Faith was boss.

28 Dec 2016 21:00:24
Just read a comment with regards to Coutinho not been match fit for the city game.
Footballers should be supremely fit guys, but for some reason (in my mind anyway) they seem to be given an easy time when it comes to fitness. I would expect Coutinho to return to training with barely a dip in his v02 max, so long as he's been keeping reasonably active. I realise they need to regain a little bit of sharpness but they've been playing footballnsince babies, so surely this shouldn't be hard to pick up? Or am i missing the point? Is it more to do with the muscle or ligament itself not been fully repaired?

Believable1 Unbelievable15

28 Dec 2016 21:32:07
It's probably more to do with ankle strangth. It was a nasty injury. You very rarely throw a player straight into a 90 minute game, after doing a joint. You need to give it time to recover its strength. the V02 max will ofcourse dip, I'm not sure by how much, but he clearly won't be match sharp in terms of fitness having missed 5 games.

28 Dec 2016 21:32:51
Agree with other players in less demanding situtations but were not talking match fit here were talking klopp fit. can't have any passengers.

He will be back soon enough. can't say where haven't been alright without him, few blips but back to ourbbest now :)

28 Dec 2016 21:44:52
Actually, your VO2 max drops a reasonable amount after only a couple of weeks of no training. Of course he would still be very fit compared to the average joe, but his "fitness" of course will have dipped, especially from the levels Klopp seems to demand.

28 Dec 2016 21:56:55
I imagine you have to get over it mentally as well, I wouldn't want to face 90 mins of my foot being stomped on knowing it's only just healed, I wouldn't want to do any 50:50s or anything like that either, scared it's going to go again.

28 Dec 2016 22:07:48
Your VO2 max starts to drop after just 2 days in most people.

28 Dec 2016 22:37:55
All good points, but would definitely expect him to have trained (swimming, arm cycle. something haha) I guess its probably more a case of the injury having healed correctly and game sharpness. Hard to remember the fine margins in the game these days. I can not play for 6 months and still return to the same poor standard as previous. obviously very different at the top.

28 Dec 2016 22:58:45
Just had a look at the top 30 vo2 max scores of all time. and sneaking in there amongst the cyclists and cross country skiers was one of our old boys. But definitely not one i would have expected to see (looking at you Dirk kuyt) Oyvind Leonhardsen of all people. Who'd have thought it?

28 Dec 2016 23:46:19
He can keep fit, but it's different muscle groups you're using and different fibres, fast and slow twitch. You then have to rebuild the muscle memory.
There are lots of things you can do to improve VO2max, ranging from altitude training to eating bluberries. I;m sure the LFC physios are well versed in what's best for pipco.

28 Dec 2016 23:54:42
Why so much focus on vo2 max? Its not the be all and end all of performance. He may be able to run in a straight line at high speed 1000 times, or run for hours but not have the match sharpness to react, change angles, make quick decisions under pressure etc etc.

29 Dec 2016 01:04:00
There is a huge difference between being physically fit and being match fit. You can be in good physical shape yet lack match fitness because the demands of in-game action are much higher (running, physical contact, endurance levels are higher. muscles are used more and more, etc. than one might believe.

29 Dec 2016 02:34:11
He'll be targeted as well.
Don't forget that.

28 Dec 2016 18:51:42
The day we signed Klopp still remains one of the greatest days of my life, I remember being glued to my tv and phone just watching and browsing about everything tht had to do with Klopp. I had so much joy and belief such that all the problems and troublesome thoughts I had that day were washed away. When they say some people are Angels this is what they mean, Klopp is Like mr Bean you can't just hate them, Liverpool means the world to me and m proud to be part of the BIG RED FAMILY

28 Dec 2016 20:12:41
No problem with that BRAYDO keep The Faith.

28 Dec 2016 22:47:52
If that's your greatest day you really need to look at your life! 😑.

28 Dec 2016 21:58:01
Dunno what ed002 means when he says we have a messiah complex with Klopp lol.

28 Dec 2016 18:44:14
We don't need to replace him in either cdm or cb. In midfield we have Stewart, can, grujic and even chirivella in the youth team. Plus when was the last time he played in midfield for us?

Believable9 Unbelievable0

28 Dec 2016 18:34:53
A few question for anyone with some real intel: How is Coutinho getting on? Any contact drills yet? Likely to take part v City?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

28 Dec 2016 18:55:26
I reckon bench. Even if he doesn't get on he'll be a huge boost to the team.

28 Dec 2016 19:29:44
Met him in the car park after the game last night and he said he was only back training for the first time today.

28 Dec 2016 19:52:48
Stoneage, if your premise is correct, then I don`t think he`ll be fit enough to even make the bench in such a high intensity game where any weakness will be taken advantage of. If he can`t play, then don`t even risk him on the bench cos if you do and you don`t put him on, it would be stupid cos questions will be asked as to why put him on the bench if Klopp knew he wouldn`t play.

28 Dec 2016 18:22:42
If Lucas Leiva does leave this window, I'd much rather replace Leiva the midfielder than Leiva the CB. I'm aware Henderson has the position (rightfully) locked down, and that Can and Stewart can fill in. But with Europe around the corner and the high pressure style we play, it's not a bad move to make. At some point, Klopp will have to use a rotation next year, we have to make allowances for injuries, and there is no outstanding defensive, U23 midfielder waiting in the wings.

Believable1 Unbelievable6

28 Dec 2016 18:31:47
Kevin Stewart?

28 Dec 2016 18:42:11
Buy one in the summer then. Who wants to sit on a bench for 6 months?

28 Dec 2016 19:53:56
Kevin Stewart is already his replacement as he is a pure DM. Hendo is not a pure DM as he can break up play and also be a launch pad for our attacks.

28 Dec 2016 23:01:25
Lucas deserves to see out the campaign with us and decide his future in the summer. He can contribute in two areas, so unless we think Gomez is fully fit and Stewart is our best defensive midfield option, I think we should keep him.

28 Dec 2016 17:45:43
Hi Eds, with everyone asking about what is going to happen in January and throwing out random names. Before we start hearing us linked with Griezman, Messi, Bale and so forth. Can you put a summary of what you guys know and what transfer are more probable coming in and going out. Cheers Eds have a Happy New Year to you all and yeh supporters on this page.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I have already done that in the Sharkopod.}

28 Dec 2016 17:11:23
Must say I was delighted to see Waro on form and helping the Mancs keep some perspective about their recent upturn in form with a couple of posts on their banter page. I was so delighted I pitched in too to show my support (and to wind them up a little) . Hope fully, after that, we can put on a good show against City.

Believable11 Unbelievable2

28 Dec 2016 18:15:12
I hate it when we get called deluded when a Manc is saying that they're going to win two trophies this year including the Europa league and they're going to finish 2nd or 3rd.
We on the other hand are taking things one game at a time. I haven't seen one person get carried away yet. Anyway, I don't want to sound like I'm complaining, so it's nice to have friendly debates with fans of other teams. We all are biased to our own teams anyway.

28 Dec 2016 18:38:07
haha just had a look
Loving waro having a pop at the mancs
Nice to see youve found an outlet for your anger issues waro, keep up the good work son.

Please don't let harry over there though, we'll be a laughing stock by the day is out. sorry harry, but waro is the sakho/ tommy smith/ souness of these pages.
Harry is more of a djimmi traore/ harry kewell of these pages

Top job waro.

28 Dec 2016 19:31:14
Harry is Istvan Kozma or Sean Dundee.

28 Dec 2016 20:00:06
Da Red Man, agreed. I am not entering into talk of winning the league or even taking a top 4 place for granted. Each game as it comes.
As for united, I agree with Waro - the fixtures are quite kind to them in that fixtures against the top teams are spread out amongst a run of winnable games. I argued on the Mancs banter page at the start of the season about how often they have favourable fixtures at the start of the season.

28 Dec 2016 21:06:09
Cheers boys, just had a quick look on there page and felt they needed an attitude adjustment because of the nonsensical babbel they were posting. I just can't help myself, your right sandon mate, I need an outlet for my anger and the mancs are fair game hahahaha.

28 Dec 2016 21:54:32
That reminds me. we haven't seen disney/ sidney for what seems like years. maybe he's hiding in moyses basement

Managed to score a ticket to lpool man city on saturday in the main stand section L10. in the sandon for a burger an hour before kick off. Anyone been in the L10 part of the main stand before?
Anyone fancy a pint in the sandon, ill be wearing my favorite kit

We all

Mancs.

28 Dec 2016 22:02:11
I've got a 40th birthday party in there straight after the game the sandon, i'll look out for ye mate. On another note ed025 is looking after his brethren on the mancs page, blues living there dreams through mancs, does it get any sadder.

{Ed025's Note - i edit the united page as well waro, dont try and turn the good folk on here against me for your own agenda you toxic person.

28 Dec 2016 22:34:33
Waro, whilst I agreed with your sentiment on the United banter page, I think you're going a bit far trying to push Ed025's buttons. From what I have seen of him, he has a pretty fair and balanced opinion, except when you get him talking about Hendo.

28 Dec 2016 22:45:32
It doesn't matter Ed025. No one expect waro would turn against you I can assure you that.

{Ed025's Note - cheers harry, i would like to think your right mate as i feel i give a balanced view, i dont like the baiting of other supporters just to stir up hatred because we seen at the derby how nasty things can get, i was ashamed of some of the chanting and vile songs there mainly by blues and feel there is enough hatred in this world without it entering our leisure time..

28 Dec 2016 22:47:32
Whoa, why my flabber has never been so gasted ed025, i'm not trying to turn anyone against you at all. Look at the thread! It is about myself venturing onto the man u page then you popped up saying we're obsessed with united which may well be the case with some but not all. Do you really want to be that ed who can say what he wants but censors others? I will refrain from name calling because i'm bigger than that, i'd urge you to calm down my mate.

{Ed025's Note - my reply was in response to you baiting them waro, its not banter when it turns nasty mate and i wanted you to feel what its like to have your club trashed. we can do without the hassle..

28 Dec 2016 22:53:50
The Sandon

Not sure what you are taking about. Sticking your nose into a UTD page for no reason is not my cup of tea mate. You aren't winning the world over an argument with some UTD supporters. Did they not remind waro of our lack of success for the past 26 years?
You mean the same Waro who couldn't spare a single day without abusing FSG and owners, I am more than satisfied I am not like him.

28 Dec 2016 22:59:25
Yeah sorry ed025. i usually agree with a lot of what u say but u came across as "bitter" on your first reply onthe mancs page
If u had spent more time on here over the last few years u would know what waros just having some banter with the mancs, no more than sydney used to give us or Blayne used to give them.
I suggest using the "search function" for disney! And read into the history of the banter on here
After all this is called a liverpool banter site.

{Ed025's Note - this is sandon and i would not allow a manc to say what waro did on theirs mate, i have explained why i said what i did and thats the reason why blayne and sidney are names of the past..

28 Dec 2016 23:11:22
Harry your a buffoon and not someone I wish to challange as i'd be on a hiding to nothing as I think English is'nt your first language. Ed025, it was you who started name calling and I know you won't believe it but I wasn't bating it was my genuine opinion.

{Ed025's Note - lets just leave it there waro..

28 Dec 2016 23:16:27
Same here Waro. I have better work than having anything with you mate. Find some one who is equally good at mocking others.
Good luck mate.

28 Dec 2016 23:20:36
Ok no probs
Id b intetested to hear what ed001 thinks about the whole banter part of the site. Its been tit for tat for years between teams
The songs sung about each other (not the ones that cross the line) . there's battles going on every week and there's never a one sided affair as its swings and roundabouts.
If the mancs start winning again and the toffees beat us once in the next 100 derbys im sure we'll get loads and crawl back under our rocks. that's surely what its all about?
as frank gallagher would say "it calms us all down and stops us going mental ". in other words wed all get bored and start kicking the crap out of each other like the 80's if we couldn't have a bit of banter at one anothers expense.
At the minute its our turn. live and let live i say.

{Ed025's Note - i cant argue with that mate..

28 Dec 2016 23:28:47
Were second in the league at Christmas. Is this the pinnacle that we now feel we can start baiting the Mancs? Its embarrassing, at least wait until we have achieved something better than being higher in the league halfway through the season.

28 Dec 2016 23:32:13
And one last thing. harry i've just done a search on the manc page and youve been all over there the last three years. so don't give me "stickimg my nose on the utd page for no reason" harry
Wrong again sunshine. back on the bus son.

29 Dec 2016 02:51:38
Is having English as your first language a necessity to post your views or start a banter?
Just want to be sure of it as today its English tomorow it will be your religion ethnicity or even the size of your $! #@
Thanks waro.

{Ed001's Note - I don't think that was his point. I believe he was trying to say there is no way of knowing whether he means what he says the way it is typed, due to language mix ups. So you can be arguing over something he doesn't even mean.}

28 Dec 2016 14:38:45
Just wanted to say the atmosphere in the Kop last night in the second half was magical.

Loads of singing. Anything from the usual classics to Christmas carols! Special mention to the "Merry Christmas Everton" song that went on in full voice for a good 10 minutes!

Loved it as always, shout out to anyone else who managed to get down there for the game last night!

Believable13 Unbelievable2

28 Dec 2016 14:56:41
Some of the atmosphere was great but a huge number of people left early which was disgraceful in my opinion.

28 Dec 2016 16:17:40
I also loved the applause and standing ovation they and the whole stadium gave to Big Ol` Crouchie. He loves us still and we have never stopped loving him to the point that I even applauded him when he was subbed off right in front of my TV. he was a wonderful player and a true gentleman.

28 Dec 2016 16:48:57
You clapped at the telly?

28 Dec 2016 16:52:43
Agreed, Hamilton, he always gave his best and scored some crackers for us. Must say I especially miss some of his celebrations as well!

28 Dec 2016 10:55:14

Square tom let's us know about young joe

All the best kid.

28 Dec 2016 12:01:52
Well spotted dot. My mistake both are very appreciated for what info they relay for us.

28 Dec 2016 13:00:05
Cheers for the mentions lads 😘

There are many great things about the site and the people who contribute, that's why it endures and also why it's popularity grows.
Lots of credit to all the eds. The site is technically user friendly, which is great for an old Luddite like me, whilst still offering some great features. The eds all make sure things rarely kick off or get out of hand, not an easy task in my opinion. Ed002 gives us lots of special insight which seems unique amongst football webpages as well as his acerbic wit. Ed001 gives us a great insight into the football technical side of the game.

To the posters - The great thing from my point of view is the diversity of styles, opinions, political leanings, cultural backgrounds but all of us proudly unite around a common focus - Liverpool FC. It really makes the website and I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone involved and everyone who contributes.

20 more league wins to go for LFC, the Title is ours 🏆😎.

28 Dec 2016 15:00:43
As much as I'd love to take the credit for the podcasts, that was Benny! I don't do public radio. My voice makes children cry ;)

28 Dec 2016 15:10:10
I'm forever be in your heart sweetie. Always here.

28 Dec 2016 15:31:05
Sweet chin thank you very much. I'll bring back the old one just for you mate.

28 Dec 2016 15:44:24
Oh thanks to both of you Big Al and Barry. Have a cracking new year ahead.

28 Dec 2016 18:37:33
Sweet chin I have to ask mate. Can you even make out what my 1st image is? No problem I will put it back up I just didn't think you could make it out.

28 Dec 2016 19:49:15
It's a picture of you and your son if I remember it correct.

28 Dec 2016 20:06:12
Not bad mate. Son on my knee in his Liverpool baby grow and daughter on my left. Son will be 2 in February.

28 Dec 2016 20:46:06
Wow Congrats Barry. Happy for you mate.

{Ed001's Note - welcome.}

28 Dec 2016 09:01:10
Not a rumour but a shout out for Asmir Begovich. Better than Migs?

Believable6 Unbelievable4

28 Dec 2016 09:25:17
Yes he is a better all round keeper. But Migs has been asked to come in and I think he has done quite well.

Baz.

28 Dec 2016 09:32:54
I think he's better but it shouldn't matter right now, he's not a Liverpool player and Migs is plus we still have Karius who isn't to be wrote off yet. Migs hasn't done bad since his return but let's see how he does against Man City, i think this is a game he will truly be tested, this is one of the only things im worried about is the GK situation but I believe it'll come right in time.

28 Dec 2016 09:36:53
Better than Migs, Yes. But we would need to offload both Migs and Ward in the summer.

28 Dec 2016 14:58:44
I don`t know if Bego is better than Migs right now cos Bego is yet to play a game for Chelsea for months while Migs IS actually playing. You don`t get better by not playing regardless of your potential, talent or past record so I can`t really say Migs is inferior to him right now.

28 Dec 2016 08:58:39
Any chance of match review ed?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - it is on the others page mate, I think.}

28 Dec 2016 08:49:17
Always loved Sturridge and I just wanted to bring this on here. I thought he took his goal magnificently. Not just anticipating the pass but the way he rounded the keeper was just class. His calmness and composure infront of the goal is second to none. He is such a quality infront of the goal.
He is one of the those players who has a magic on him to change the game in a whisker.

Believable14 Unbelievable1

28 Dec 2016 09:04:52
the goal was excellent, lovely quick feet from Sturridge. loved the goal, but not really surprised as he is able to do that.

28 Dec 2016 09:17:23
I thought his movement was Good last night as well, and although one was an own goal mane would still have scored so technically we had 4 different goal scorers yesterday something for pep to think about!

28 Dec 2016 15:00:19
Studge`s talent is well documented so the goal and the manner in which he took it, didn`t surprise me. Had he missed it, now that would have surprised me.

28 Dec 2016 15:38:25
Totally agree harry, he is the best striker we have at the club i just wish his body could hold up better. Looking forward to an extended run in the team when mane goes to afcon and he links up with firmino and couts when he is back.

Got to say i also love the fact we are not reliant on one player to score. Any one of our front three provide goal threat and then you have lalana behind them also chipping in. Is he the highest scorer in the club now?

It is also not a conincidence that we are more effective when milner plays well, with both our wing backs attacking it ensures we pin the opposition in their half and maintain posession.

I think it will be a score fest with man city with us edging them. Their defence and keeper are as suspect as ours but i believe klopps system is superior to peps tika style and i think we will pick them off on the break.

28 Dec 2016 07:52:02
Morning Ed. Just been looking through the available free transfers from the prem clubs. Is there any of them that you would like us to go for? Not saying we are going to sign them just your personal choice.
Thanks bud. Hope xmas was good.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about. Who is available on a free right now from Prem clubs? Contracts run until the summer window now. Sorry but I am just a bit confused by the question.}

28 Dec 2016 08:11:14
We cannot sign anyone within PL in January. But I guess Sanyo Carzola is a free agent coming summer.

28 Dec 2016 09:22:07
Any potential under the radar free signings like Matip on the horizon!?

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

28 Dec 2016 09:38:31
Maybe Klopp and co will unveil a surprise. cheers ed :)

28 Dec 2016 11:07:08
Apologies. I meant players that will become free from contracts in the summer.

{Ed001's Note - far too early to look at that mate, once the window shuts is a better time.}

28 Dec 2016 06:31:14
Eds, what do you make of Klavan in the last couple of games? Better than what he was at the start of the season?

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - last night's game was ideal for him, up against an opponent with no pace and no one breaking from midfield with pace to trouble him either. He has not really developed a partnership with Lovren yet though. When he got dragged over to the right, in the lead up to the goal, the pair of them never really got themselves sorted positionally. However, he did well mostly and he does have a good touch and can pass.}

28 Dec 2016 16:32:13
His solid performances of late, will definitely help his confidence. I do think his lack of pace is an issue City could profit from with Aguero and midfield runs from Silva, KDB and even Fernandinho. It will be up to our CM`s to track those runs and protect the CB`s from being overrun or isolated.

28 Dec 2016 05:42:50
Good performance from the lads yesterday but it was a scrappy one for me. Without Coutinho and Mane, our midfield seem very average. Hendo is good but he offers very little going forward. Most of his passes are sideways or backward. I am worried about the City game without a fully fit Coutinho and Can. The best player for me for the last few games we've played is without doubt Lallana. For me he is actually the best English player in the EPL. He is outstanding sometimes and as if we are seeing Neymar or Messi playing. If he can produce the same performance against City like last night, then we can dream of a positive result against City.

Believable2 Unbelievable16

28 Dec 2016 05:59:10
Were you're eyes shut when Hendo was pinging the ball to both flanks constantly or when he's pass sent origi away for the third goal.

28 Dec 2016 06:15:23
Henderson seems to me to be a confidence player. when the pressure is on, he flaps and often plays quite poorly. When it's easy street he pings 60 yard diagonal passes with perfect precision. He's not a captain who will take on a game when the going gets tough, but nor is he a poor footballer. Just my thoughts. Happy Xmas all!

{Ed001's Note - you mean when the pressure is on and there are no 60 yard diagonal passes on he doesn't play them? *sigh* I give up! People see what they want to see and now they are slagging him off for not being able to magic up an option when there is no one to pass to and even the perfect diagonal passes he played are being used as a stick to hit him with!}

I honestly think people think football is like fifa and expect a forward pass and a goal every 10mims and perfection from every player. I can't belive I'm even reading this about Hendo. He played fantastic last night and if people fail to see that then you don't know how football is ment to be played.

28 Dec 2016 06:28:56
henderson is no messi or iniesta bt the sideways and backwards passing (although clearly not all of the passes are sideways and backwards bt everyone here seems to think so) that not only keeps possession, bt also moves the opposition about can't be a bad thing.

why is no one blaming Barcelona when they do the same thing.

28 Dec 2016 06:48:54
I don't think Henderson was the worst player yesterday and I am not sure what people expect from a defensive midfielder either. We have problems at the back first and foremost.

28 Dec 2016 06:49:53
It was a terrible defeat last night wasn't it. oh hang on, we won 4-1 after going a goal behind. Jeez, there aren't half some whiners on here.

The pressure was on for this game after all other teams around us had already won - perfect response for me.

28 Dec 2016 07:57:44
I am not saying that Hendo is a poor footballer nor the worst player on the pitch but technically speaking he is not that good and very often you feel he could have pass the ball differently and in a better way but he choose sideways pass. Perhaps I am wishing that he could play like Stevie.

{Ed001's Note - technically speaking Hendo is one of the best in the Prem. That is one thing that is not an issue with him at all.}

28 Dec 2016 08:22:29
I think people should watch the Everton match again and you'll appreciate Henderson.
He was a proper leader, kept the team disciplined and people should stop expecting 60 yard passes everytime. And sideways passing are necessary when you're trying to make your opponents lose their defensive shape.

28 Dec 2016 09:08:18
I must be watching a different game than you guys, Henderson was fantastic last night, he controlled the game, stopped most of Stoke threats and was constantly releasing the ball to our attacking players👏.

28 Dec 2016 10:59:55
That was a nice sideways pass from Hendo to Origi for the second goal. I accept people have opinions about football and in particular players but what I do not accept is when there opinion is wrong! 😏.

28 Dec 2016 11:13:25
Stevie G has been and gone. There is no-one that could come in and do what he done on a football pitch.
Henderson is brilliant and if he was out of the team he would be missed.

Captain of our famous club and still haters. come on guys.

28 Dec 2016 11:40:05
That long diagonal pass to the right wing was probably the best pass I have seen this season. it was a pass as his goal against Chelsea. Not too mention he put in some good balls that other players just didn't get on too. He mixes this in with generally trying to keep the team ticking over and this involves sideways or backward passes when there is no other option, attempting to keep possession etc. Some games I wish he'd tackle more, but happy enough to have him in our team. He's been given a job to do and generally does it well.

28 Dec 2016 14:22:02
Henderson is our Kanye but has better vision. I really like hendo does a lot of graft and rarely gives ball away. Great player in my opinion. Got passion for the club.

28 Dec 2016 16:33:25
Don't get why people are still slagging Hendo off, if Stevie G had done that magnificent crossfield pass everyone would be raving about what a special player we have.

28 Dec 2016 16:49:51
There isn't another player in his position in the league that's had half the attacking influence Hendo's had. This is just people who slagged him off last season (when he was injured) desperately trying to justify their opinion.

28 Dec 2016 17:01:42
Frankly, this Hendo issue is becoming boring and tiresome. This is no longer an open debate about opinions on a player. This has degenerated to an outright witch hunt and a farce against the boy as people who can`t stand him use the old, flaky reasons with no basis in fact, to slag him off while conveniently ignoring the great things he brings to this team and is a key figure in our progress this season.

"Side ways and back passing". Utter nonsense. I guess Pep, Iniesta, Xavi, Xabi, Modric and Deschamps where all awful players cos they passed the ball sideways a lot too, right? Yet they conveniently forget his 4 assists this season, being a candidate for goal of the season and him spraying long diagonals and his inch perfect pass to Origi for the third goal, a pass that almost broke Glen Johnson`s back, all vs Stoke. Comparing him to SG is the most cowardly comparison ever, knowing fully well that SG had more ability than him.

Memo to his haters: You hate him. We get it. Now leave us alone with your pathetic witch hunt and let the boy play his game.

28 Dec 2016 21:20:34
Hendos problem is that most of his best work is not going to make MOTD footage and so its hard to see why he is so valuable. But he is technically solid (how many times does he get caught with the ball in possession), a very good passer (invariably hits his man), high work rate, good vision and positional sense. Im not surprised he is captain of a Klopp team and many parents could do worse than use him as a football role model for their kids. I do wish he would learn to pass with his left foot but that is just quibbling and for me he is an essential part of our team.

Ed001

What was your view of the performance against stoke and what do you expect against city?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - decent performance once we got going. Pressured them and took control of the game, and I expect the same against City.}

28 Dec 2016 04:48:40
did u get to watch the game ed001?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - yes mate.}

28 Dec 2016 06:29:35
will there be a review soon? i didn't get to watch the game would love to hear your opinion.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, just writing it now.}

27 Dec 2016 21:51:16
Ed001 thanks for the book suggestions a while ago. Santa brought them for Christmas so I'm looking forward to reading them. Hope you had a good one.

{Ed001's Note - hope you enjoy them mate and merry Xmas.}

Well played milner and lallana, the stand out players today as far as im concerned. We must not start as poorly next match as we will be punished, ed001 if I may ask what are your thoughts on fat sam's return to football? I only ask as even though he bought his England debacle on himself he has been welcomed back with open arms yet other managers I could think of would have been condemned, also does this mean pardew will get the Swansea job? now that bob Bradley has got a festive p45.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Fat Scam should have been locked up years ago, all the brown envelopes he has pocketed on the sly. He should not be anywhere near the sport.

I very much doubt it would be Pardew, as Palace's American owners are sure to talk to Swansea's American owners and explain what a complete and utter arse he is and how the poor form was all completely and utterly down to his arrogance and incompetence. Having said that, Swansea have lost the plot lately, so nothing would surprise me there any more. They have lost their identity and it will see them relegated down the leagues.}

28 Dec 2016 06:50:19
Was about to ask you about Fat Sam. How did he manage to secure a job?

{Ed001's Note - because he will save them from relegation.}

28 Dec 2016 07:15:00
I don't follow international football these days but I got snippets that Fat Sam was sacked for pocketing money from transfers. If this is the case, why haven't the FA taken away his license and stopped him from being involved in football?

Didn't he get caught at Bolton taking envelopes over transfers?

{Ed001's Note - that wasn't why he was sacked and it was a BBC programme that showed the evidence, the FA did nothing about that either.}

28 Dec 2016 07:37:16
He took bribe with in the game and that is good enough for any organization to take actions on him!

{Ed001's Note - not in footie it isn't.}

28 Dec 2016 00:35:40
Was at the game today and must say the atmosphere seemed much better than it has been in the past. Could be that I was in the Anfield Road end instead of my usual Main Stand seat or maybe the doubters are becoming believers? In any case it was good to hear the fans actually supporting the team instead of just slagging them off every time they play a pass that dares to not find it's target. Loved singing merry Christmas Everton! 😂.
