Anyone else notice that Clive Tyldesley was gutted tonight as he watched his beloved United taught a footballing lesson?

i regained my respect for javier mascherano tonight, it was great to hear him dedicate the win to liverpool fans. even if he wanted out, tonight still proves the love he has for LFC.

I feel pity to the person who thinks gerrard demands that the team play for him..... watched him play for liverpool since he was a kid mate and dont think we could have had a better and motivated player than him... he gets the ball because other players think and know that he can work magic and possesses greater quality and ability than themselves.. have you ever seen gerrard frustrated when he is not palyed the ball when others are in better position than him like ronaldo's and rooney's... so stop the crap talk and be grateful that we have a player like gerrard who will do anything for the club

lets win the 19th for jamie and stevie

28 May 2011 23:10:04
having watched that game of the decade i can honestly say that Barca are the best team i have seen since barnes, beardsley and aldo turned out for the reds.i know you cant compare eras but the 88 team against Barca of today would be some game. they absolutely dominated spam and spam have now set a new record for the least number of shots in a CL final ever.
brilliant performance and mascheranos little comment will of hurt the spam fans as much as the defeat lmao
moving on to next year.. i cant wait i think outside chance of the league next year being realistic it will take 2 years but even so 18 and 5 is better than 19 and 3
by the way as some of you probably know i live in manchester and let me tell you it is very quiet on the streets, not much to report at all

Mascherano after the game

"I know some Liverpool supporters were disappointed after my exit, they were a little bit sad with me, but this is for them, " he told Sky Sports

He's just moved up a peg in my book. That puts him at 1.

I think realistically, if we DO sign a striker its going to have to be a very big name.
I.e. Aguero. I'm not saying Aguero will sign - what I'm saying is it'd have to be a good enough striker to alter another players position or alter the formation i.e. us going with 3 up front.
We aren't going to spend 15M or so on a back up striker just to sit on the bench! I'm guessing if we do sign, we'll sign BIG or Free...no inbetweeners to chip away at the budget.

Dalglish putting together a package to bring ken Aguero and Messi to Anfield. Package believed to include taxis from the pub to Anfield, a KFC bargain bucket at half time and 48 bottles of Carlsberg Special Brew a week. Messi quoted as saying " you're my best mate. Here's me hand here's me heart"

28 May 2011 22:47:09
from rumour page
LB: Emilio Izaguirre (Good all-round full back, sorts out our bogey position)

He impressed at the Europa League Final, likewise did Porto's two centre backs {Ed001's Note - he plays for Celtic, how could he impress in the Europa League final?}

anyone seen the poster on twitter, it is a blue motorway sign, its says liverpool 5 manchester3 now f@@k off, its brill, and the photo of stevie g holding his hand up saying 5,

28 May 2011 22:35:07
For anyone who is still slagging mash off for wanting to go to barca how can u stand in a players way if that team comes knocking regardless of how big the player is.

28 May 2011 22:33:30
as reds we should all feel sorry for the mancs.
just think how upset howard webb is now.
and fergy was right it was the game of the
decade well for barca any way.
soul man.

Its a catch 22 with your points 1, 2 Inspector X! Voronin was terrible, my point was Benitez signed most of them rubbish players but kept the golden boy Torres, but when Torres was injured who had we got? If Torres plays better on his own then you should tell Chelsea because they seem to think otherwise :D Torres is passed it now anyway, too many knee injuries taking their toll now...
Point 3- He was pretty much gone by the time Hodgson was appointed.
Point 4 - Keane scored 5 goals in the league and 2 goals in Europe in about 3 months for Liverpool, when the partnership with Torres started to grow, Benitez dropped Keane!! Why?...
Point 5 - Ngog!!! If he was a prospect i'm not surprised they changed the whole scouting system. Enough said on that one.
Point 6 - The players didn't know what they were doing half the time, it caused so much confusion and panic in the box I used to dread when a corner kick was awarded against us...
I just didn't like Benitez, thats just me and my opinion of him, anyway here's looking to the future

---------------------------
Let me jump into this topic

Under Bentitez how many times did we qualify for the champions league?
What was our record in the Champions league?
Who was ranked European no1 team and favourites in that comp?
Kean had his chance and failed.. He was that good he ended up at West Ham.
Mascherano saga- remember he went on strike against Man City and he sulked? He had to go.
Alonso- he was poor for 2seasons before Raffa look at Barry and when he realised his position was under threat he played the best football ever to get a dream move to Barca.
Zonal marking- if it was that bad then why were we so hard to beat?
Torres- how many goals did he score for us and how many was assisted by Gerrard?
I think your memory is poor

28 May 2011 22:24:06
lets all be realistic about who we sign a performance like barcelona played like, no one will win in a single game you have to be able to take your chances in the group stages this is where we need a good enough squad with plenty of depth and quality but this will be the same for the mancs and city let alone the veteran chelsea side just believe in the board and kenny lets hope for some good signings and a positive step forward in the club ynwa

28 May 2011 22:23:43
the great thing about barca players is that they dont think they are better than the team being they work for the team ie stevie gerrard take a look at xavi and iniesta and realise the team is not all about you

This is my first visit back since jan transfer window and there was a lad on here named macca who did seem to know some real transfers has he been back and had anything exciting to say guys?

28 May 2011 22:43:49
I support Liverpool, my Mrs supports Man u ... I suggested a bet via a high st bookies in case they lost. She bet on £20 a 3-1 win to Barca ... we couldn't be happier! I've suggested a weekend away in ........ Barcelona!

28 May 2011 22:42:47
When does transfer window open? {Ed013's Note - 1st of June for us and 1st of July for foreign signings }

28 May 2011 22:35:27
Dalglish
Is hungrier now than ever. His past managerial record with Liverpool was amazing. He made Blackburn champions and Shearer a star.
Newcastle was as bad as was made out because their fans was in mourning for Keegen that they never gave him the freedom to be a success. His record there was so bad.
Celtic however, was a flop.
But in my opinion Dalglish is the man to put us back Challenging.

There will be no Aguero at anfield looks like he is going to juve
-------------------------------------------------------------------
step backwards for him in my opinion - he will soon become a distant memory if he makes the move there {Ed002's Note - He is running out of choices.}

28 May 2011 22:20:28

What a class act Barca are. Pep Guardiola dosn't get enough credit imo. It's his style of football that's the reason the players, play this way.

Dear Ed, what's the chances of signing this bloke Messi, he looks quite good?

dmedly :-)

28 May 2011 21:16:31
Heard a rumour that Fergie took 21 years to in 2 euro cups. It took Paisley 6 years ro win 3. Can't be right.....can it? LOL

28 May 2011 21:16:30
Whoever in charge.....
I would love one Messi please.

28 May 2011 21:01:42
Ed, from what you know so far, who do you think Liverpool will sign or who is most likely? Thanks.
{Ed013's Note - In my opinion the people i believe we are most likely to sign are adam, Scott dann, mata and marveaux but they are not concrete to sign as no one knows}

28 May 2011 20:27:43
Ed's, just watching Barca there and that guy Messi is no a bad player, surely we're interested?
Chances out of 10 Ed002?

28 May 2011 20:39:33
Ed i was thinking that Liverpool with DC being at the club we would look for lesser known talent and seeing as standard chartered want an asian player i would fancy us to be monitoring gamba osaka starlet takashi usami (i watch the j-league and hes a very clinical finisher with great ball control) apparently bayern munich are pondering a bid now but i think a couple of other clubs may be watching him after how the likes of miyaichi and kagawa turned out-any thoughts?
{Ed013's Note - i do believe we are in the market for a player from Asia and both players you have mentioned have good potential but I have not heard any interest in these players}

28 May 2011 20:39:01
Ed omg juan mata has moved to liverpool just seen it on wiki.... wooo... Just being sarcastic but yes some t**t has edited his wiki page. Just to warn you...lol..

28 May 2011 20:27:55
so in other words u don't know if players are going or staying unless we here it or have i just got the wrong idea
{Ed013's Note - No one knows who is joining except KK and DC. It is ok having rumours and speculation but no one knows for certain. Like everyone else I have my own opinions on who may join or who is going but no one knows for certain}

28 May 2011 20:14:25
ok Ed013 so who do u think is mostly likely thanks
{Ed013's Note - In my opinion it is possible that adam, scott dann, mata, Marveaux could join. }

28 May 2011 19:56:07
hi ed what is our transfer budget in the region of
{Ed013's Note - No one knows there has been many rumours about our budget so there is no point in guessing. The owners well spend what they feel is necessary}

28 May 2011 19:39:39
Eds - Perhaps you should put a 'league table' at the side of the creen giving your 'ou-of-ten' likely to happen to the most mentioned names.

And then ignore every post that asks for your out-of-ten opinion

28 May 2011 19:28:05
IMO not much is needed in the squad
Their not the cheapest options but I would be happy with...
Mata
Vargas
Dann
And hopefully Aquilani comes back he deserves another chance.

28 May 2011 19:17:35
COME ON BARCA DESTROY THEM CHAPS FROM UP THE EAST LANCS!!

"All football clubs are competitive, but some are more competitive than others." "To be or not to be fiscally responsible, that's the question." "Big Blatter is watching you!" "Take your stinking paws off me goalkeeper, you damned dirty ape!" "And any striker that shall seem to be Scouser, but is not formed thus is not Scouser. It is neither man nor woman. It is a blasphemy against the true Image of Fowler, and hateful in the sight of Fowler." "I don't like this club; I don't like the players; and I don't like my gaffer. That's short and sweet."

How many more times are people going to ask the eds on this site to rate the chances of the same players at joining us? The number is 5 people, any player who is likely to move away from their current club can be had if you really want to get them. There are no 0's or 1's out there. No matter what the players, agents, managers, editors, The Pope (are you supposed to capitalise here, ed?) or their mamas say. Come on, man!

hi
does anyone know if marveaux has actually signed a pre contract yet? or are we still waiting on him proving his fitness?

i personally would walk away from him if the injury has been bad enough to cause this much concern i can see it re-occuring.

would anyone else like to see momo sissoko come back in part of a deal for aquilani? i'd take giovinco and momo straight swap personally. momo loves the club and knows the english game and giovinco can play on the wings or as a forward so would be a good shout and it saves us trying to rehome aqua and gets us a prem proven dm and a bright prospect.

ed002 can you rate these out of 10 lasagne, cheese on toast, sausage casserole, treacle sponge and custard, egg and chips

28 May 2011 18:45:30
how can i launch a complaint about ed002's poor attitude? I think she should be shipped out to the Chelsea boards because she simply obviously doesn't want to be here, and does not have a good thing to say about the club.

Internet terrorists unite, Ed002 out!

28 May 2011 18:43:11
Still hard to belive that benitez wanted to sell Alonso and buy Barry!

28 May 2011 18:43:00
hi ed any new news on things happing at anfield??? {Ed002's Note - The big news is that Cointrao, Aguero and Neymar called by earlier, but no one was home.}

28 May 2011 18:40:51
I can see ED002 having to live in a nuthouse if anyone asks about Sanchez or Pastore again lol

Blimey I hope the Stevie G to Real Madrid rumour is rubbish. Barca is my second fav club and Stevie my fav player !!

On the 28th May 2011 Valencia agreed to sell Mata to Liverpool FC and the deal was quickly done after his reps agreed a deal with several Liverpool fans on Twitter. The region of the fee is to amount up to One Apple Pie/ A Ngog. Following his arrival Mata had magically learnt how to speak English and said 'My new home is Liverpool, i have always loved the club and hope to stay here forever'. He will wear the vacant number 10 shirt.

Just saw this on Wikipedia...
Hopefully now people can see how easy it is to change Wikipedias website.

28 May 2011 18:37:30
hi ed im quite drunk now and was wandering if if liverpool have agreed to sign neymar or is that just a example don't no if im readin it right or im am really that drunk

28 May 2011 18:36:22
Hi ed002

Am I correct in thinking you believe we are going to sign Neymar. Although I think he is a very good player I don't think he would fit into the systems KK will be playing next season.
Anyway I have a friend who currently works as a chef in Madrid, he is convinced that we are talking to Atletico about one of the clubs players but it's definitely not Aguero, do you have any idea who this could be ???
Great site

Redrats {Ed002's Note - No I don't think that Neymar is going to sign for Liverpool. I don't know of any interest in any Atletico Madrid player from Liverpool at this time.}

28 May 2011 18:36:11
ed002 said McCarthy has a 8/ 10 of joining which is 80% certain to join.

28 May 2011 18:30:07
i'm sure hazard can survive 1 year without champions league football, he's not going to move to a club for 1 year , it's a long term move, if he moves to liverpool he will play champions league football in the near future, at the moment hazard is a good palyer, dalglish will make him into an excellent player, another reason why he should move to liverpool is the fact that we are the only club that can offer him guaranteed first team football. {Ed002's Note - You don't think he could get guaranteed first team football and Champions League football at Lille and then, as the guy suggested, move next summer?}

28 May 2011 18:29:36
Liverpool need quality
KK should splash the cash on

LD Fabio Coentrao £25m
CLD John Terry £20m
DM Daniele De Rossi £25m
AM Wesley Sneijder £35m
RLW Alexis Sanchez £35m
LRW Eden Hazard £25m
CRF Sergio Aguero £35m

can people stop treating the EDs like carp

I have always seen this website as a place for the average fan to place his views and transfers and the squad and that the EDs are here to look after the website and to tell people to stop being silly when they get over exicted about a stupid rumour.

However I think its disgusting that a person would have a go at the EDs (ED002). As he gives up his own time for us all (he is also my fravourite ED) like the rest. No one is forced to go on this site and if you don't like what you hear or someones opinion just ignore it it or turn the site off do no act inmature and abuse an ED or poster.

Sorry had to get off my chest -Mc {Ed002's Note - No problem. Thank you.}

28 May 2011 18:14:14
Liverpool have agreed a fee with Valencia believed to be in the region of 20m .
Also the deal with McCarthy is all but done with personal terms and medical all that's left .

when , who , how and source ?

when - last night
who - Juan Mata
how - We made a successful bid !
source - my only source who is normally correct . Sorry but I'm afraid I cannot reveal his name . Got the Luis Suarez one when the bid was submitted and got it right along with Torres to Chelsea thats all I have for now , I'll tell you more when I receive it !

-----------------------------------
alright thanks you got any idea when it will be on the official website?

28 May 2011 18:09:39
ed can u giv me 3 or more players who hav a 7+/ 10 chance of joining

{Ed002's Note - Sure: Marveaux; Dann; McCarthy}

Hello ed, This means We will no longer pursuit adam if Mccarthy is signed, Or will we still go for him.

{Ed002's Note - I don't expect both to move to Liverpool.

28 May 2011 17:54:28
so ed basically wat r u tryin to say?? i think i no wat u re sayin bt i dnt want to believe it lol {Ed002's Note - I am guessing that you will not be shocked to say I have no idea what you are talking about.}

28 May 2011 17:52:43
Is the Liverpool site the most popular and most viewed {Ed002's Note - Yes. The main site has a large number of posts but perhaps 50% or more is span type junk. The Manchester United site would be next on the list. Way behind would be Celtic, Rangers, Arsenal and then perhaps Chelsea.}

28 May 2011 17:34:57
Re. Timing of announcements of deal pre: July 1

Deals will be announced ahead of july 1 when completed but by and large the announcements will be carefully timed, so don't expect anything until after the CL hype has died down for example. Obviously if there are leaks (as with the Whu manager for example) that can change things.

28 May 2011 17:31:17
hey up all i no this ia a rumours site but keep it real lads the way some people talking we hundreds of millions to spend we be lucky to buy more than 2 players

28 May 2011 17:28:12
Ed 002 what are the chances out of 10 of Liverpool

Ed, do you know of any interest in Roberto Soldado? Would be a great signing, perhaps a double bid for him and Mata?thanks mate, keep up the good work! maka

{Ed002's Note - I very much doubt he is for sale after only a year at Valencia. Certainly there is no recorded interest right now.}

Ed lad, once senses you become slighlty bored of repeatedly answering the same old questions day after day after day. Any chance of rating the chances of us signing Hulk, Aguero and Sanchez? Red77 {Ed002's Note - We will be deleting repeat posts from now on. During the transfer window it is not worth posting "Liverpool confirm signing of Neymar" a hundred times or more. If we post it once folks should get the message they need to read the other posts. And in answer to your question: 0, 5, 8. Have a great day.}

Is that a mistake Ed? You rated Liverpool signing Sanchez at 8/ 10?? Has the chance of Liverpool signing Sanchez improved or was it a mistake??

{Ed002's Note - Man, I love this stuff.}

Ed002 you are brilliant, love the way you did that....

Re this

28 May 2011 14:04:22
A Liverpool executive team and representatives from WMG Management are flying out to Madrid next week to negotiate Steven Gerrard's move to the Santiago Bernab u, Liverpool want £30 million or a swop deal including Xabi Alonso. The manager thinks it is time to cash in on Gerrard and use the cash to start rebuilding the team. Jos Mourinho is a big fan of Gerrard and is pushing the deal through with President Florentino P rez now that the General Director Jorge Valdano has departed.
------------------------------------------------
I do hope this is true as i belive he has been one of our problems for years!! Dont get me wrong he is a good player but hes lazy!! I really can't see this coming to anything as kk is a big fan. Just remember tho we are liverpool football club and whoever we do sign we will back them all the way ynwa

Ed is this realistic/ out of 10...

LB-Enrique
CB-Dann or Jones
CM-McCarthy or Adam
Forwards-Mata, Downing, Gervinho and Marveaux.

So basically 7 players coming in. {Ed002's Note - They are all viable - some much more so than others.}

28 May 2011 16:13:53
Ed's whats your thoughts on Marveaux? i must admit i have only watched him on you tube in 3 or 4 games but he doesnt look anything special to be honest. I tend not to judge people on 3 or 4 games and tend to give players a season. Whats your thoughts? {Ed002's Note - I think is a good player, a nice guy and will be a very good addition to the squad. No medical has taken place yet.}

Alright lads, question on BBC website hoping for sum help- name 9 players who have played for 2 of man u, l'pool, arsenal, Chelsea and who have also played in Spain?

So far I have, anelka, Torres, Owen, zenden, lassana diarra, mark Hughes, pennant, petite and I need 1 more?!
Any ideas?

Ed, What about Theo Walcott? Hes a big time liverpool fan, only 22 and english! Surely we should be bidding for him? Hes JUST what we need!

T-Dog {Ed002's Note - Is he available?}

================================

Im not sure if he is available but surely if we put a bid in for him we would get him? Arsenal should want to buy hazard since he'd love to go to arsenal and raising money by selling Walcott would be great for both of us. I'd prefer Walcott to anyone else on that right wing.

28 May 2011 16:06:34
I don't see why we're so bothered about bringing in a new left back, Jack Robinson can play there, as can Danny Wilson, we should be giving the youngsters a chance to prove themselves, and if it doesn't work out, bring someone in during the January window. What do you reckon ed? Give the youngsters. a go or not? {Ed002's Note - There is always a need to improve as well. But sure, some will make it.}
=============================
A pretty naive view, in my opinion. Everyone knows Wilson is not really adept at covering at left back and Robinson, while looking promising, is a couple of years away from being developed enough for a team hoping to compete for top 4, never mind the title. By your reasoning, we throw the youngsters in and if it fails we get new players in during January, by which time the damage to our league position would have been done.

Somtimes the manc idiots trying to take the piss just make it all way too obvious, as in this case:

"Because of where the club is right now, i think people need to realistically think about the things that they write or say. We are not going to sign big name players such as aguero or hazard or even mata, sorry to be so negative but it is where the club is at the moment. We are not in europe at all, that makes us just like the other 14 prem clubs with no doubt nothing to play for again and we will still be having these conversations this time next year about fantasy wish lists and all that stuff. We have to aim low now as we are no longer one of the best teams in europe
My signings:adam, friedel
Thats all no big names or big money"

Fact is my friend, we will spend more than you in the summer, and we will get better players than you.
And we will be right in your faces next season for the title- that's if you're up there yourselves, of course.

28 May 2011 15:46:42
Just an idea for the ed's... I know use get sick of answering the same question so heres a suggestion.. Why don't use post things about players that use have heard more news on when ever use get some news, that way we can all just read it, and we will all know when something develops with a player {Ed002's Note - Unfortunately the problem is that many folks won't read other posts at all. If you refer them to an earlier post you then get folks bleating that they can't find it and we should give everyone a lengthy diatribe. So we keep trying.}

28 May 2011 16:10:44
ed what right footed wingers are we looking it? i only seem to be hearing about the left footers
{Ed013's Note - Hazard has been mentioned}

28 May 2011 15:59:04
Alright, been reading a lot of things on this site and must say it keeps me entertained! I don't doubt that Liverpool will make a big money signing, but I doubt very much that he will be a striker. So far what we've seen this season, albeit not for long enough, is that Carroll and Saurez just can't seem to get a partnership going. Add to this Kuyt just had a great season and N'Gog is still available, I doubt a striker will be signed at all. Remember, N'Gog was out top scorer once and he's still young. I definately think the midfield region will be strengthened and that is where we might see a big money signing. McCarthy is still young but Kenny got the best out of Spearing who, let's face it, was never that good under Rafa or Woy. Blaise Matuidi will probably sign for us but remember, it's still very, very early. Anything could happen!

28 May 2011 15:37:52
There are a couple of maybes above but would personally like to see them all come! Ed would one of you mind telling me what our chances of getting these are! Thanks guys and keep up the good work! YNWA {Ed002's Note - There is a good chance of most. Very good for some and a slim chance for one.}

Hi eds! Do you think realistic signings would be
Freidel
Enrique
Dann
Downing
Mata
Marveaux
and maybe Shane Long who I have to admit has shown a lot of potential since Christmas. {Ed002's Note - Not all - there are four predominently left sided players in the list.}

Hi ed, Since marveux looks like 90% and is a lefty, We may sign only one among downing or mata or{other targets like elia, perotti, Nzogbia etc}, The other winger being Righty{payet, turan, young etc}. So we will be having 3 wingers, right ed? PLS reply {Ed002's Note - There are efforts being made to sign wingers, I am not going to second guess who might agree to come - certainly not from the lists you have provided. However, I am sure there will be two or three coming in.}

why are you so negative about aguero we have chance like everybody else if not more real madrid have came out saying they do not want him , chelsea on verge of signing neymar so he is not needed , manchester utd on verge of young and sanchez so also not needed also have rooney hernandez and berbatov , city have tevez who personally i think will stay another season and dzecko and ballotelli so not needed their also , and totenham arnt even a big team to go to and will not pay the 40m price. whereas liverpool he has says n the past 2006 to be precice it is his dream move and hopes it can happen one day to liverpool if he comes he will bring out the best of maxi for the two argentines just as kenny says about diego for lucas and liverpool have got the money to spend on him and also we need a big signing to boost the shirt sales up and bring some money in and ive also herd from rumours on this website we are in talks with hazard over a possible move to anfield and we also have a good chance in signing mata since camolli has flew over to speak to his agent witch is his dad and he is very happy about liverpool so just out of them 3 heres the possability of a move to anfield auguero 7
mata 7 and hazard 7 don't belive me about the aguero it is alover the internet his dream move is to liverpool

{Ed002's Note - I have provided an honest informed opinion. Please do not read anything more I write.}

As far as the rumour of stevie G going to madrid goes. I can't tell u weather it is true or not. All I can say on the matter is. For a man of gerrards age to wanna go to another country and start a fresh would be crazy.

Would love to see gervinho (gervais yao kuasi) his full name in premier league for liverpool. He would fit into the team perfectly

Javi Martinez would be the perfect player to replace Xabi Alonso after all these years. Good Strength, Good Tackling and Amazing Vision and only 22.

Edd chances out of 10 for this player please {Ed002's Note - 0/ 10. Sorry. He was actually a 1/ 10 for a long time but signing a news contract to keep him at Bilbao to 2016 has pushed him back to a zero. I of course expect to be trashed for this gloomy outlook I have for him joining Liverpool.}

keep it real m8, taken straight out of FM2011, nobody talks bout players vision or tacklin on here in that refrain, good player no doubt

RE:

Just been told by my Spanish Journalist friend who's got very good connection in Spanish media circle, that Liverpool are closing in on 2 major deal. First is Juan Mata from Valencia for 15mil + Dani Pacheco. Deal is almost done and will be announced within a few weeks. Second is Diego Perotti from Sevilla for 7mil + Maxi Rodriguez. Sevilla agreed the deal in principal but the stumbling block is the salary of Maxi and they want part of his salary to be paid by Liverpool. But Liverpool is not willing to do so. Both parties will sit again shortly to find a solution. But Liverpool is now pushing for deal as they have missed out on Ashley Young but KK and DC identified Perotti as the top wing target.
-------------------------------------------------------
Are these deals you heard about including the players going on loan or full ownership by Sevilla and Valencia? How would paying part of Maxis wages work unless he was on loan??? ired

There are a lot of people saying "Adam only looks good in a mediocre team", now i know for a fact that the better the team around you, the better you play, fair enough to say you won't stand out as much, but you'll always be a better player for it, i wonder if the people saying this are the same people saying "Messi only looks this good because he has a good team around him". Come on people, any of you that played or still play at ANY level know this, the better the players around you the better you will be.

No matter who Dalglish brings in this summer, he'll turn them into superstars, look at the confidence he's installed in the team, the influence he's had on Meireles, Flanagan, Suarez, Lucas, Skrtel, Reina, Kuyt, Maxi... He's an amazing manager and I've no doubt 2011/ 2012 will be a great season for Liverpool FC

A good friend of mine is mates with Juan Mata's sister, who lives in Englan. They work together at my old Uni. Never mentioned anything before because I didn't believe him, but last night I found out that he was actually telling the truth.

Anyway, I've asked him to do some digging, doubt I will be able to find anything out because he said that she doesn't really like to talk about her brother's Football career, but you never know.

Just read on BBC that Demba Ba has a clause that allows him to leave on a free due to the fact that they were relegated, I know he isnt a world beater by any means, but hes a good target man, lowish wages, i think hed be a decent back-up.

What would be your thoughts on this?

Hi Ed just heard that liverpool are in deep negotiations with Diego the brazilian. Dalglish thinks he can get the best out of lucas with another brazilian superstar. Do you know of any truth to these rumours? And also hear that Mesut ozil is unhappy at Madrid and Liverpool are interested any truth ? Dave. {Ed002's Note - Sporting Lisbon, Galatasaray, Botofogo, Lazio and others will need to be beaten to his signature if Liverpool are going to get Diego. Whilst there is clear interest I don't know if Liverpool are any any sort of talks with the player himself - who is in Brazil. As an aside, I would question whether Liverpool should take a risk on a player who was thrown out of Juventus after a year (Juve taking a £10M loss on the transfer) and who has since walked out on Wolfsburg three times this year? I appreciate the situation at Wolfsburg is dire under Magath and the new regime. It would be high risk and I am not sure where he would fit in unless a central midfield player is leaving. Certainly Wolfsburg have found a replacement to target in the form of Niko Kranjcar. I don't expect Oezil to be leaving Real Madrid this summer.}
******************************************
Didnt Lucas just get player of the year!
Has Dalgish not already got the best out of him?
Do we want a manager that needs to buy another player in order to get the best out of another?
I think no.. Dalglish doesnt need to buy other ppl to do his job for him! thats just ridiculous.

I like it how Ed002 doesn't want Apple 'Arry at Chelsea (says he'll be "depressed if he becomes manager) yet thought Roy Hodgson good enough to be given a chance, time and support at Liverpool, chastising those LFC fans who wanted the gimp out ASAP.

I also like it how Ed002 often refers to the "embarassment Comolli will have to overcome" by going back for Etienne players (following the "gentlemen's agreement" he made with Romeyer or whoever) but says that Juventus, who entered an agreement with LFC to buy Aquilani at a set fixed fee but are now renegeing on that, are only trying to get themselves the best deal. So Liverpool "can't take a moral stance against Juventus".

So Comolli going back on his (unwritten) word would be "embarassing", but Juventus renegeing on theirs (written, legal agreed, by the way) isn't "embarassing", Juve are "just tyring to get themselves a good deal"... so opines Ed002.

I'm not making anything up here. I've observed many an opinion.
I must also say that, there's no sinister motive behind, just, an observation.

The double-standards/ biases are striking.
Ed002 obviously doesn't have a high opinion of Mr Comolli, which is fine, by the way.
But using his past to constantly castigate him is just not on.
Comolli made his fair share of blunders. No person knows that better than him.

He's at a new club now. Things won't likely be anything like they were at his previous clubs.
What he needs is to be given opportunity and support to prove himself as a LIVERPOOL Dof. He can and should only be judged by what he does here.

I'm sure that John Henry and Tom Werner think the same, hence they brought him in.
That Etienne chairman's warning or whoever he is, means NOTHING.
Comolli will get on with his brief. If the board isn't satisfied, they'll do what they have to do based on Damien's work at LIVERPOOL, NOT Etienne.

I hope that you won't throw your toys out of the pram (like a certain Steve Parker), and sir, I say that with the utmost of respect.
You seem to be very fond of that lately.
I don't like it at all, though I do appreciate that this place's become a cradle of delusions, ridicule and nuisance, mainly brought about by new, irregular contributors.

I'm gonna go now, but will keep a beady on the happenings here, rest assured.

{Goodspeed's note} {Ed002's Note - Ok I will try and deal with another dismal rant from our friend who wants to continue to make himself the most embarrassing poster on the sub-continent.

Firstly, I find it surprising that you think it was wrong that it was worth providing support to Roy Hodgson when he arrived as manager of Liverpool. Liverpool fans in my experience are emotional about the club and want the best and will generally support players and staff. I am sorry that you as a Liverpool fan want simply to reject them without any sort of chance being given.

You clearly don’t understand the gentleman’s agreement that was agreed by Comolli and St-Etienne and why bring Rolan Romeyer in to this – it was nothing whatsoever to do with him and does nothing but confirm your ignorance of the entire matter. I am most sure Romeyer would agree as well.

You also don’t understand in any way at all the agreement entered into between Liverpool and Juventus as part of the loan of Aquilani. And you then have the audacity to make a libellous charge that Juventus are “renegeing” (sic) on that agreement. You evidently know nothing at all about any of the commercial matters.

I have answered questions about Comolli honestly and have not constantly used his past to castigate him. I have not shown any bias and your pitiable attempts to elicit support by make false accusations do nothing more than substantiate your need for some sort of professional help – which I truly believe you are in dire need of.

I would suggest that this post has taken you all week to write and you have whipped yourself in to some form of frenzy and lost all perspective otherwise I see no reason at all for you dig at Steve Parker. What possible relevance has that to the matter?

As for keeping your beady eye on matters here, we would much rather you didn’t bother. Feel free to repeatedly making these personal attacks on me, and as we agreed last week, childish and pathetic remain the adjectives that most suit you.}

I've said this time and time again, but we need balance and depth, sprinkled with flair(ie: Suarez and maybe Mata).

Tell me, if you were a Man City or Real Madrid fan and you won the league, would you be proud of that? personally i think it'd be cheaper for city to go down the trophy engravers and just buy a trophy, it'd basically be the same feeling at the end of the season. If we are to win the league over the next few years it's gonna be like the old days, Staff, players and fans together have to work hard, that's what winning is, earning, not buying.

Because of where the club is right now, i think people need to realistically think about the things that they write or say.

Thats all no big names or big money.

In cockney rhyming slang that's 'pony and trap' mate - there will be at least 3 players coming in LB, LW, CM,

we have no width - your argument doesn't stand up at all, i bet you're not even a Liverpool fan!

Mr Ferguson, shouldn't you be focusing on the match tonight? Or maybe choosing which scotch to drink to drown your sorrows? Did you not see who came in January, and what Stevie, Pepe and Kenny said about transfers?

Go back onto evertons page mate, chatting rubbish. Liverpool have a big kitty to spend on player, we will see a big clear out with a few decent players coming in. The Torres money hasn't even been spent yet. We are going for a few big names, how not beening in Europe will effect us I'm not sure, but the promise of raising LFC back to the top is a great one. People keep dismissing our chances of signing top class players because we can't offer european football, frankly if a player can't recognise the improvement we have made in the last six months and is willing to commit to a club that is on its way back to the top they are not what we are after. We do not need short term glory hunters, we want players who are willing to fight and earn glory.

Ed, with your frequent but right comments about other PL clubs chasing the bigger name players over LFC where do you think we stand in the available finances league compared to the other clubs who finished top six excepting Man City, this answer may enhance realistic comments on this site...hopefully !!! {Ed002's Note - I would not like to say. Don't consider budgets at all and be realistic with the targets and it may all come true.}

28 May 2011 12:55:35
Let's face it guys, most of this is speculation or hope. Nobody knows who we will sign yet. Andy Carroll! who saw that one coming. Think we will all be surprised by at least one, if not two of our signings. Our signings need to be quality, as we have got to be challenging for the title next season not just 4th place. If we challenge for the title and fail, we finish in top 4, if we challenge for top 4 and fail we end up 5th or 6th.

you have a very valid point there but if you look at the clubs history and the fighting spirit to win, players will still be very attracted of a move to such a great club with fantastic owners!

As far as liverpools Cb options go is scott dann definitely looking more likely than cahill? and have we just lost interest in taiwo at LB? {Ed002's Note - There was never any chance of Taiwo. He has already agreed a move to Milan in any case.}

Hello, Just an observation but i have heard Rafa has been offered a lucrative deal to manage athletico madrid, Maxi's agent is the same as Aquero's and there is obvious interest from LFC (as well as every other major club). Eds, could this be a hinderance or of benefit to the club. I understand that the chances are slim but with the success of torres's move from athletico to liverpool. Maybe????? I also read that a key player for liverpool has had a hand in convincing a top south american player to come to liverpool. maybe Luis Saurez convincing international team mate E.Cavani. Just a pipe dream ( and a bit of a stab in the dark) as i am a bit of a fan of the Napoli forward. But if you know anything about it i would love to hear :-) Great site by the way!

Tom {Ed002's Note - I don't think there is "obvious" interest in the player and new coaches do not normally endear themself to the fans by selliing players to their old club.}

28 May 2011 11:58:09
Liverpool will sign Izaguirre. He is pretty better than Enrique or Cissokho. He is a solid left back and he has dribbling abilities couple with a fine crosses for Andy Carrol, Dirt Kuyt and Suarez. Aside from the above qualities, he is a good finisher. Expect LFC to sign him any moment from now. I have been posting this rumour for sometime now evn before we are linked to him. Alberto Acquilani will not be playing for us next season as he has said openly that we will love to play in Italy particularly Juventus.

Aside from that, don't expect LFC to sign Aaron Lennon, Ashley Young, Enrique even aguero.

We are going for quality and premier league proven players like Charles, James McCarthy and Charlie Adam. Elia, Arda Turan and Mata are all but realistic addition to the squad.

Ed? {Ed002's Note - Always a chance.}

28 May 2011 11:57:30
WHy are we looking for CM or CDM coz we have good players in those positions. We just wingers like mata, perotti

28 May 2011 11:56:06
To all those people who are not happy being linked with 10mil players, why? look Man utd won the league this year and although they spend alot on average players (Berba, Carrick, Anderson, Nani...) they are still average!! The reason they are successful is they have an experienced manager in league (as do we as of January) and a strong staff set-up (dido). On the pitch they have 3-4 top class players (Rooney, Hernandez, Vidic, Van Dar Sar) as do we (Gerrard, Suarez, Carroll, Reina) we also have others who ARE good enough (Kuyt, Johnson, Agger, Skrtle, Lucas, Meireles...)the problem? We don't have enough of them! two wingers, and a left back of the quality of the second bracket and one "BIG" signing and we would be title contenders. We finished so far behind united becase of our start which was a different CLUB never mind the improvement to the squad. If we made no signings this team could challenge for champs league! If they did with half a season! If we have a full season nd level points danLFCmann

Why is everyone picking out names who they want at the club and realisically they will not come the club will keep transfers quiet remember merielles last season nobody sayed his name and look how good he done i expect the club is speaking to players but there is no reason for anyone to pick out names to make us feel better.

reading all the doubters saying aguero to expensive r u all forgetting that plank of wood we bought in jan for 35mil of course we can afford him sell cole jovanovic 6mil combined add in the 180k a week saved deal done also would pay for itself in mercandise suarez aguero = goals lots of them

look - no one knows what these owners will do - there not scared to spend big money because they have big money - move on from hicks and gillette and wait and see what happens - have faith - they may surprise us all with some big signings -give them a chance

Sergio Aguero will join Liverpool to partner Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll. £39Million bid made from Liverpool last night. Permiership title in the bag!!! YNWA

Damien. {Ed002's Note - I am sorry, someone may be teasing you about this.}

All the rumours we have you turn down and say no chance. You don't know everything you know.

Matt Wollacott

{Ed002's Note - I am sorry that Coentrao was nonsense as well but I will continue to be honest. Would you feel better if I lied about the rumours? And how would Aguero fit in with Suarez and Neymar?}

Kinda remember in January when the EDs were all saying Saurez was nonsense. And how many of them knew about Carroll.

Listen I think Aguero is a no go as well simply cos of wage demands, He is off to Real, where he will get 150k plus per week, and only 20% tax compared to 50% here.

But EDs really do poo poo everything. I tink we will get Mata as the marque signing. Looking like Downing as well. A LB, CB and a back up striker. Personally I would go for Zamora as a back up, probably get for 8-9 million and he is quality. {Ed001's Note - what are you talking about? Carroll I had been talking about on the Newcastle pages regarding how Ashley was trying to force him to accept Spurs offer for a while. No offer came in from Liverpool until last minute, do you expect us to look in a crystal ball and predict which panic buy we will get? Only we had bid for just about every striker around in the last couple of days in January.}

28 May 2011 11:18:12
ed do you honestly think liverpool are going to spend a lot of money in the transfer window i think he spend some but not on the players people keep naming i think a few average players and thats it {Ed001's Note - average players? I am sick of reading that kind of disrespectful comment! Kenny is picking the players and I would back his judgement over yours or mine, if he thinks they are good enough then that is enough for me. There will be money spent, but we are not going to waste money on overpriced players for the sake of getting big names in.}

28 May 2011 11:06:57
Morning Ed I've been reading a lot over the last couple of days about Elia. I think he may be quite an exciting prospect but I've read people saying he plays wide left and is a left footer, well I'm sorry but I've seen him a few times and I've always been struck by how one footed he is and it's his RIGHT foot that he favours. Have a quick look at him and you'll see he has no left foot (not literally before you make some sarcastic remark!)
That said I would still be happy if he signed I'd like Adam Johnson too then we could have 2 wingers who are better on their "wrong side"

Chris in Tamworth

---------------------------------------------------

I took a look at him. He is literally the most one footed player I have ever seen. I saw 5 or 6 clips of him and he used his left foot 3 times to dribble and everytime he has a chance on his left foot he uses his right. He is a a good player but I don't think he is what liverpool need on the left wing. He is a Poor mans Ronaldo

NI Red {Ed001's Note - he reminds me of Babel, I really hope we don't buy him.}

28 May 2011 11:04:54
All the people who keep saying that Elia said 'Liverpool are the best club in England' should realise that if they read the post properly.

It actually said that Steve Maclaren told him that Liverpool are Still the best team in the premier league. Prior to Utd winning the 19th title.

Before you slander me i'm only refering to domestically!

what do you make of osvaldo ed? seem him only a handfull of times but looked a good forward, im sure spurs have been linked, but are we interested?

New to this site. Who are the Eds and what are their qualifications? {Ed001's Note - qualifications? Seriously?}

28 May 2011 10:41:57
Expect FSG to make a big statement of intent in transfer market this summer. These guys are winners and know how to make money from winning franchises via advertising deals etc. Plus they know the big money is around the corner when live internet streaming of every game comes in. They know they need to invest heavily in team. What is expensive today will seem cheap tomorrow. In other words Eds don't rule out any player - aguero, mata, cavani, etc

28 May 2011 10:26:10

Hearing Liverpool have a deal for Thorgan Hazard from Lens not sure if through and about other rumours like Aguero and Neymar forget them
Aguero is 1/ 10 and Neymar is no chance and do not want him anywhere here either, would rather have Ballotelli (honestly)
_________________________________

Thorgan Hazard is looking like hes going to an immense player, should be better than his older brother (Eden), but at a young age all the hipe can sometimes be detrimental to a persons mental state.

With you saying you'd rather have Ballotelli over Neymar, I presume they are both (french language) idiots

I suppose the best way of dealing with these silly rumours is asking why he would join liverpool?

Do liverpool need him? No, we have suarez.
Does he want to go to a team without champs league? No, not when he could choose chelsea/ man city etc
His wage demands are insane.
He liked the idea of working with Rafa and Torres, neither of whom are here.

Arguero rumours getting old, fast.

Ed- if the aqua news is true, do you think that would stop the adam persuit? Or is he likely to go to Italy to another team?

Also what are your views on Hamsik?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool will do what they can to offload Aquilani. The last thing the club need is someone who does not want to be at the club. Hamsik would be a good buy but I don't know of any interest from Liverpool.}

Posted yesterday that Liverpool enquired about Aguero and that the price was non negotiable. Liverpool have dropped their interest in Aguero. I can only speculate that they dropped interest due to the tax involved in buying out his contract would total for almost 80million.

From what I have being told we have major interest in Javi Martinez the Athletico Bilbao midfielder who we were once linked with back in 2009. KK and DC have offered Athletico a straight (18.6 million) for his services or a package deal involving either Pacheco or Ayala plus £15 million. Javi is a quality midfielder with fantastic passing ability with comparrisons to a young Xabi Alonso.

im not really sure on enrique and havnt seen anything of the celtic lb so id go for vargas, mata would be a real coup but i just hope we move quickley when the window opens.
Cmon barca tonight u have to destroy the mancs!!!

Anyone noticed that amidst all these talk of Aguero, Fernando Llorente has quietly slipped under the radar? SingRed

Eds, i've only been coming on this site since about Feb or so, is it always this crazy in the summer window? are people always this convinced that we're going to sign some of the ridiculously over priced players we're linked with? or is it just since the new owners have come in. I know we're always linked with some good players, but people just seem to be lappin' it up lately. {Ed002's Note - It will get really busy.}

Liverpool have bid 21m plus jovanovic for cavani, aguero is a smoke screen to get cavani without a bidding war. Would be a quality signing. Do you rate him eds?

Edinson Cavani signed a contract extension a week ago (taking him to 2016). In the press release Cavani gushed about his love for the city of Naples and the club itself. He also singled out the fans as one of the main reasons he wanted to stay. What you have said about Liverpool bidding for him is complete pish.

Forgot to mention - Pastore has had one good season an prices are now floating around of 35million+ - even if we were in the champions league and he wanted to move to us (which were not and he doesn't) that sort of money for a player who has had one good season is ridiculous. Even more so when you consider its a weak serie a he's been in, no guarantees at all and the sort of buy that could turn out to be an absolute clanger, there are way more sensible options out there.

I spoke to my Chilean friend about Alexis Sanchez and he thinks he will go to Madrid or the mancs. But he also said to me that he thinks Sanchez is being hyped up a lot and that he isn't as good as people are saying. Has potential and good skills but lacks important contribution when it matters and, more importantly, lacks the heart. Again a young fella with a crazy price tag, even if Liverpool where in the running i'd say they'd be better off looking elsewhere for a more viable option.

A lot of people think Agger will be leaving - he won't. The reason why? Despite being injury prone he is world class and we look so much better defensively when he is in the team. Getting rid of our best defender because he's injury prone would be a bad piece of business in my opinion. KK said he's looking to sign quality, not get rid of it.

Unrelated subject but also realised that the 2 main reasons why English teams struggle to sign South American youth is 1) they usually have grandmothers/ parents etc etc who have Spanish passports or portugese passports, that sort of thing - very rare they have grandfather from yorkshire or something 2) Englands immigration control is far tighter and stricter than other european countries - which makes signing these players before anyone else in europe incredibly difficult.

Rumours: McCarthy rumour gathering serious momentum... have to question whether he's improving the squad or not and will his potential transfer impact on Jonjo Shelveys and Jay Spearings future - would be a shame as both have looked promising (Spearing especially since he was actually given a chance to prove himself).

We remain keen on Vargas but apparently he is on his way to Spain - my friend thinks Barcelona, its a shame would've been just the signing we were after.

I still think that everybody on this sight is underestimating the talent of Juan Manuel Mata, his high skill level in every aspect of the attacking game are second to few, and he will, mark my words WILL be a better player than Pastore, Neymar, Sanchez, Hazard and Aguero. If we miss this opportunity we will regret it in years to come, unless he goes to City or Chelski where he won't be used correctly and will be ruined forever

Ed's - can we please ban any mention of Kraptalk on this website. That fat dunc tries to profit from the Hillsborough tragedy & any self respecting Red would never go to his site or FOWLER forbid pay him money. It is a disgrace to the 96 who passed to soil this site with any mention. Please ban all IP addresses that even hint at Kraptalk. News Now got rid of him, so should we.

Now for something completely different:

I have been reading this site for the past few days in complete awe at the level of stupidity shown by the masses. It makes me think about the time in America when Orson Welles convinced an entire state that aliens had invaded, simply by reading HG Wells "War of the Worlds" over the radio. If a website claims we have signed Coentrao, then it is the FOWLER's honest truth. If Ed002 posts a link for the news story stating Madrid are the ones that actually agreed the fee, then someone asks if the language is martian. The internet is full of made up stories, yet for some unknown reason the crazies all populate this site. All true reds will trust Kenny to get the right players & if they don't want to play for our great club f***'em

an american red-----------------------------------

I just felt this needed saying again people, and by the way american red, i whole heartedly agree with every single word of that.

May FOWLER be with you.

PERSONALLY............
I would like to see King Kenny sign players that are strong enough and robust enough to deal with our league, not necessarily players of a high value and rating........
To be honest ALL Liverpool fans know that TORRES was a quality striker, his goal per game ratio was 2nd to none, but when teams got wise to his movement and attributes, he struggled with the physical side and demands of the game.
50million was good business at the time, SUAREZ is typical south american, TEVEZ like, but i think he has more to offer. Small stocky, but a tendancy to roll around abit. He may not be a 20 goals a season player. BUT will provide others the goals. Basically a team player.
CARROLL im undecided, some games he looks laboured and just a target man to play off....... perhaps lack of games and fitness.... he was awsome against CITY. Time is on his side.
The midfield is strong, but lacks out and out width, natural wingers, Liverpool fans may slag me off, but the last natural winger we had was Albert Riera. IT all depends on Kenny's tactics. The center of the park is a given with the choice of Gerrard, Meireles, Lucas, Spearing, Shelvey and maybe Maxi and Cole(their natural positions).
Ashley Young and Downing im not to keen on, Young for not being a team player, and Downing???? (I may change my mind). Neither am I keen on Enrique, good going forward BUT lacks defensive qualities. I don't see the full back positions as a problem, Johnson, Kelly, Flanaghan, Robinson. Just needs 1 addition. OUR defense is quite versatile, with Carra, Agger and Wilson being able to play at fullback. We have been linked with Scott Dann which isn't a bad shout.
AS for going back for wingers, ARDA TURAN, small stocky, targeted by opposing teams, but just rides the tackles. Passion and power, similar to SUAREZ, but a winger/ attacking mid. Skills like Zidane and Messi, but not unleashed in a better league. Dalglish himself recommended him to Rafa. BUT owners, budget, politics etc, etc stopped a bid.....

RUMOUR IS........ Arsenal and Tottenham have bid for RADEMAL FALCAO, who has recently rejected a new contract at Porto.......... now forgive me if im wrong..... BUT why haven't we entered the race for an out and out goal getter............. people keep posting about AQUERO..... but i'd rather have FALCAO.....more clinical in front of goal and the premiership wouldn't phase him, AND CHEAPER............

Just looked at Eljero Elia on Youtube, (yes I know Babel looked great too) but Elia is an amazing talent. Using Google found this story from the dutch media 'voetball international' I've used a web translation tool so it reads a bit odd, but it sounds as though he wants to come to Liverpool. I for one would be delighted. Read and see what you think...

Eljero Elia is the strong interest from Liverpool. The attacker, according to German and English media in the summer move from Hamburg to Anfield. It is not the first time that Elijah is associated with a transfer to The Reds. The attacker had earlier in the winter all the interest from Liverpool, but a transfer did not. The team of coach Kenny Dalglish then chose to change the line of attack to reinforce with Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll. Elia will not bargain to pick up in Hamburg, for the twenty international fold has a contract until the summer of 2014. The striker announced himself in favor of a possible transfer to stand. "Dirk Kuyt on the right, the striker Carroll, Suarez and I left behind. Then we make everybody mad, "
