I'm surprised with all these cavani and tevez rumours that lavezzi's name hasn't been thrown into the mix?

Yeh it'd just sound unrealistic then...

LFC are not interested in signing Carlos Tevez.

Tevez is not interested in moving from Manchester to Liverpool.

The Andy Carroll saga is a weird but understandable one. Weird because I don't understand why you would buy the lad if you don't have a team that plays to his strengths. Understandable though, as he is out of form and confidence.

I don't see him moving on at all though. He has good potential and shows a good work rate. Also, 35million just thrown away in a year... I don't think the club would want that sort of image.

Ed do u Eva think we will give sterling a chance were looking for a winger so y not .
Befor u say he s only17 qaulity comes befor age ,
so does this mean the king dose not rate him {Ed001's Note - but what does come before quality is being physically up to the task. He has not shown himself to be ready to face the physicality of the Prem, if we were in Europe I would have expected him to play there though.}

Look at Jack Wilshire. Bolloxed for a year cos playing too much footy at such a young age.

Hey Eds and Macca
Firstly this post isn't a stupid rumour or a transfer question. I just enjoy reading your opinions. As no-one seems to have any idea who we're looking at. How do you all feel about the current squad? Do you think we'll get fourth or not? As hard as it is to say! But i'm just saying judging on the quality. Also would you rather have a cup (or two) or the fourth spot (ignoring the financial value). As i think a trophy would do us the world of good.
Sorry just realised i posted this in the rumours form and not the banter form. Anyways, would like to hear your views?
Would be disappointed if no-one comes like but i myself feel with Suarez back after Tuesday, the rest will have refreshed him and think he'll be awesome. So with him up top and Bellers playing with him (when he can), i think them two are one of the most frightening pairs in the PL.
Cheers guys
Dale B {Ed001's Note - I think the squad is certainly good enough to challenge for a top four place, but I would take a cup over that any time.}

Dont u want us to be in the champions league, ed? Plus revenue earned wud be higher, hence better quality players.

Ok great week for the reds.... but more importantly 3 points is desperately needed in the next league game, hope we don't take our foot of the gas because we did well against United and City.
I think we should keep Carroll untill the end of the season, bit harsh after a year shipping him out !
Would like us to sign some quality midfielders, been very disappointed in the amount of money King Kenny has spent on Henderson and Downing, there not good enough and Adam has been average, although he was cheaper.
Would like to see a Mata/Modric/Silva type player in the middle of the park with Stevie.
To think we could of got Mata for 17 million in the summer but went for Downing is killing me !!
YNWA STE21 {Ed001's Note - it wasn't that simple, I wish people would stop with that nonsense.}

I think if Mata would play for downing's wages and preferred LFC to Chelsea and fitted into KKs plans we would probably have bought him. But that wasn't the case, was it?

Food for thought for Tuesday night. Wayne Hennessey has conceded the 2nd highest number of goals in the league ... BUT ... he also has the highest number of saves. For every goal he concedes, he makes about 3 cracking saves. I've seen him a couple of times this season, and while Wolves' defence has been dreadful, he's been their man of the match by a mile. We need a really good attacking display on Tuesday to get the three points with lots of shots on target and lots of decent crosses into the box. Big Andy will thrive against their defenders if he plays as well as he did yesterday.

Sean.

Hi Macca, (if you're on)

Any updates on Steven Gerrard? Times saying he's a doubt for Tuesday with a Hamstring injury.

Any truth in it mate?

Cheers, SN.

Gordon Taylor certainly lives in 'cloud cuckoo land'. Now an attack on Liverpool fans for booing evra. For some reason he appears to think that evra is completely innocent in this affair - every normal- thinking person knows that this is not true. It's almost as bad as his previous statement that Liverpool is responsible for educating all its players in what is right and wrong while neglecting to say that the same rule applies to manchester united (a club that is actually not above any law). We all expect Luis Suarez to be booed at old trafford and I don't expect Taylor to come out and say that it is wrong and that Suarez has served his (over-excessive) sentence. I thought that it was great yesterday that Suarez was accompanied by HIS OWN wife!

can't believe the support andy carroll IS receiving fom the guys on here today with all the rumours that are flying around,

always knew football fans were 2 faced but my gosh, for one FULL year you have slammed the lad EVERY day on here, 35 million what a joke, he's useless, get rid, he's out of his depth, he offers nothing, he's lazy, 35 million, 35 million, 35 million, if this site worked like twitter 35 million would have trended everyday,

i have always supported every player we've had in a red shirt, i have no problem with people giving their opinion but the turd hits the fan and someone maybe wants out of our club or we want rid don't change your tune in a second and start feeling sorry for them, if he goes he goes, and we'll replace them as we always do,

dear me people, get a grip and stay true to your word !!

So you supported el hadji diouf then well whatever floats your boat mate

To be fair I've always backed him, only player I've slagged off was Adam when he had 0 successful tackles and like 5-6 fouls

Don't know for sure but I wonder if the AC thing is spur to get th e las playing and visibly putting n an effort. Think we all know that Tevez would be a huge risk, but as AChas played his best for us over the weekend it might just jar him into pulling his finger out! Then again I might be wrong, bring in another decent striker and let them compete.

After all, we didn't pay £35m, Chelsea did and we got £15m on the deal...

Bulls**t WE payed newcastle united 35 m for caroll. End of

"The socialism I believe in is not really politics. It is a way of living. It is humanity. I believe the only way to live and to be truly successful is by collective effort, with everyone working for each other, everyone helping each other, and everyone having a share of the rewards at the end of the day. That might be asking a lot, but it's the way I see football and the way I see life."

Siggle, (in gay Paris at the mo)

That you Karl? Karl Marx? Cheers Mate.

It was shankly that said that, not marx! thats why it mentions football, not sure Karl was a big fan!!

Karl was definitely a Red

Was stating that it sounds like something an important socialist figure would say, not that one actually did as it is very insightful.

Just read the guardian online, breking news andy carroll does not want to leave liverpool and loves it here and the players,he went on to say he is only a year into his contract and is staying, his agent is angry liverpool didint tell him there trying to get rid of him, if they are trying to sell him.personally i hope they keep him....irish kopitie

Darren bents name is being mentioned again could be a very interesting on tuesday

29 Jan 2012 22:38:33
We do not need tevez as he dont want to stay in england. The only striker that would be suited to liverpool would be CAVANI, also he would keep suarez happy as we need suarez to stay at anfield. If suarez is happy the fans are happy. If not now then the summer, maybe a loan deal for torres will do till CAVANI comes :)

We'll win when we want, we'll win when we wannnnnttt were liverpool fc, we'll win when we want haha sorry iv not been sober since full time yesterday what a game and anyone saying we need to buy lfc showed yesterday they dont bellamy is the buying of the centuary he just pull defenders away leaving gaps and the joy on suarez's face when kuyt scored was brilliant.... oh and also i kno we got a few aussies on here anyone know of any welding jobs going i want to move country

Hmmmmmmmmmm I may be the only one here but getting rid of Carroll after a year is maybe harsh on the kid.
He hasn't performed, yes, fair enough but does anyone think he deserves at least till the end of the season ?
The reason he has struggled is because we don't play to his strengths, we did it once against Bolton, high ball, he flicked it on and Bellamy scored. Simple.
But we don't play like that so he hasn't fitted in, beggers belief why Kenny bought him really if he had no intention of playing to his style.
I'd rather sell him in the summer if the situation has not changed and buying a quality midfielder... Question to the ed's though, how much do you think we would get for him if we did sell him ??

Hi there great site, our approach play is great, defending is great, finishing- woeful. We should sell kuyt much as I like him move Jonson to rw, sell Carroll to Harry's spurs and buy an out and out goal getter like soldado or cavani if possible. Also Nigel de Jong would be a great signing. Keep up the good work. YNWA.
Scotsred

De Jong will never score again in his remaining playing career. But, somehow, as soon as he received that pass from Silva the other night, I had this instant feeling that was gonna happen. Does anyone else ever get that ?
The Real KB {Ed001's Note - I had exactly the same feeling mate, it was obvious from the moment Adam slipped and left the gap for him to shoot.}

I was about bang in line with him from the Kemlyn ed, and it was like a horrible slow-mo. An instant feeling of dread. Lol.
I suppose it goes back to our caveman roots, fight or flight. I've never seen him hit more than a 5 yard pass prior to that.

Anyone think the transfer window should be reduced to one day? Just imagine, only transfers can be done on 31st Jan. No messing about, dancing around, pointless rumours........just one manic, exciting day when everything happens!

Agree or disagree

Mark from Selby

The Transfer window should be done away with altogether. You would have less transfers and certainly a lot less panicky ones. In any other business if all parties are in agreement employees can change from position. I don't know who brought it in but has in no way improved the transfer situation.
Dutchmal {Ed001's Note - it has nearly killed clubs like Crewe, they can no longer sell players when they peak for maximum profit. It has become a waste of their time having such a fantastic youth system. The transfer window helps no one, I would be glad to see the back of it personally.}

29 Jan 2012 21:45:28
We will NOT sign Tevez!! His wages are a major issue! He is quite happy to be in Argentina and collect his 200,000 a week off citeh!
If we do sign a striker luk de Jong would be great although interest has died down from the red men.

As for Carroll being "swapped" with another player I've heard Barcelona were prepared to do a straight swap for messi but Kenny told them where to go! :)

Great site eds

Tevez hasn't collected his wages since around November I believe.

Jolly Red

200k pw till end of season works out about £5m.. Not bad price if he shoots us to 4th place...
Would work for all concerned, he needs to play and prove he is worth someone buying him..

Just my two cents here, everyone is claiming we need a striker and with good reason. I am actually a huge fan of Carroll but I also acknowledge that his development hasn't been as rapid as many hoped for. With these Tevez rumours circulating (no doubt prejudice gutter press reaction to our beating both the Manc teams in a week) it's just made me ask what type of striker do we actually need to compliment our attack? We already have a nippy creator in Suarez, a hold up power house in Carroll and the energy and pace of our utility strikers, Kuyt and Bellamy respectively. What we need is a striker who can role off the shoulder of the last defender with pace and who is a natural finisher. I doubt a player like Tevez would be signed (definitely not him specifically) as this would be too similar to Suarez. That is why names such as Barrios,de Jong, Teixera, Gomez and even Torres have been touted around. By buying a striker of this caliber, our attack would be complete with healthy competition and an option against even the most stubborn of defences. along with a tricky right winger in the summer, I think our squad will be complete. Here's hoping for a surprise on Tuesday night.

For all the Twitter worshipers have yous all missed the breaking news carroll to spurs for 10 mill haha wait for the Defoe for carrol to start, roll on Wednesday,

29 Jan 2012 21:31:12
Andy carol does deserve all of our support but if we r honest Liverpool have always been a better team playing counter attack football how r we gona continue that with the main man being the slowest man on the team it was the same with Peter crouch and he gave 100% every game All we need as the missing piece of the jigsaw is someone like Bellamy who is quick and nos were the goal is that no matter how hard he tries wil never b andy Carrol

29 Jan 2012 21:30:22
Feel really sorry for carroll, didn't ask to be 35million but he is not up to standard, good for mid table club which we will be unless we start signing quality mixed with young players, we need a goal machine poacher who doesn't have to be mr unselfish/always do for the team, we have one in kuyt, quite a few players at the end of the road in my opinion, carra, kuyt, maxi, Jonson, aurellio, cole, Carroll, the team plays well but in mid and defence but we need guys who live for goals up front inzaghi, van nistelrooy, type of player. Tevez not the answer , too much hassle and works too hard, cavani, soldado would be great but doubt it. ynwa.
THE BAD GUY

29 Jan 2012 21:26:17
Is it just me or did anyone else think Andy Carroll was much improved in the last couple of games.
Particularly in the Utd. game.
It's a shame if we're trying to rid of him now behind his back ( assuming we are) how can we expect him to start performing without support and trust.

Love the site, following from Philadelphia-Who are the realistic names that we might see arrive before the deadline?

Wrong place to ask lol.

Is this just me or did any one else notice in Dalglish post match interview that he has more faith in carroll than some people do. I thought this was a dig at the press at first but could Comolli have tried to go other his head. also if you watch sunday supplement they hinted this could of happened

please post in rumours

Could have meant the owners...?

to all you scousers if liverpool player sign a class player before wednesday you must scream for 30 seconds like a girl and post it on here. but in all fairness that shining bright light that was there when the window opened that liverpool would sign a team changing player is slowly fading out and come wednesday the wind will blow it out.

I thought the transfer window closes on tuesday?

Rewflo {Ed002's Note - Take it as a warning that fake posters get a ban.}

Someone pretending to be Rewflo? Interesting..

Hmmm, I read a Rewflo post the other day and thought that it didnt come across as Rewflo - ish, many posters have a style or way that they post, why people feel the need to imitate other posters, can only assume it is a manc or a kid of 5! If anyone has anything to say about what other posters put then they should just come out and say so instead of trying to purposely make others look bad by imitation. Got to say its been a lot more positive on this site recently (amazing what a planned trip to Wembley and an FA Cup win over Utd can do), lets just hope if worst happens and we get beat by Wolves that we dont all of a sudden become a bad team, just like a win over Utd doesnt make us the best!
I can see this season turning out to be a good season come the end, Carling Cup FA Cup double anybody? 4th Place aswell? All possible at this time..... LFC = making dreams become reality!

After digesting the whole Carroll swop for tevez deal I have come to the conclusion it maybe a good thing but not in swopping Carroll. I think Liverpool did this to test the water and expected the idea to be shut down by man city. I think tevez might sign on a loan deal until the end of the season as this will benefit both parties, man city in particular. The Milan teams look like they have dropped their interest because the fee is too high for a player that hasn't played for months! Liverpool don't play man city again this season but still have to play man united, spurs, chelsea and arsenal. Loaning tevez to Liverpool could help take points of these clubs and help city win the title and also increase the Market value of tevez so when the summer transfer comes round he will have a good sale price with more clubs interested. For Liverpool, it will help to push for a CL place and give Carroll more time, which he needs. Plus the summer transfer Market is a better time to buy for the future.

Chris

He's not coming. Drop it please.

hi eds all resds what a day saturday was! went to the game with my 6 yr old son in the main stand half way line what an atmosphere ! incredible! i thought andy carroll played very well set up kuyts goal hit the woodwork again worked hard. his performance in the first half against bolton was also excellent setting up bellers goal ive supported ac all the way. so im very surprised to see the rumours about ac being involved in a swap deal with carlos tevez.just when we are seeing an improvement .also ac needed to be left higher up the field and have someone playing off him directley (kuyts goal) plus his own goal scoring threat. so i hope he stays and fineshes off the job. ironically though my lad said he thought wed sign tevez! ha ha! out of the mouths of babes etc etc. godbless 96 all reds steviep48.

Hi

Great site...... Some interesting reading! My first post and possibly my last dependent on the barracking.

As a fan, a little disappointed that Andy Caroll doesn't get the support he should from the us. It's not so long back when we were all sayin Lucas Lieva wasn't upto the job and the stick he got from the terraces..... Look how he turned out. I for one was sorry for my lack of faith.

All the while Andy continues to wear a red shirt we should give him support and show solidarity for one of our own -remember we all shout YNWA and that includes those that may or may not cut it! Had he not had such a huge price tag, been english and not a premiership player he would have been afforded a little more patience- we forget he is young and the expectancy, rightly or wrongly is high which puts massive responsibility on young shoulders! I'm not making excuses for him, it's just pointing out some facts. Ok it may not work out- some players go to clubs and no matter what it just doesn't happen for them. If it doesn't for Andy, I will be one who says, FairPlay, you gave it a shot. I'm sure if he does get it together and become all that is expected everyone will be chanting his name but how many of those will give him an apology for not being behind him 100%? Time to get behind our team, unity and YNWA

Macca, don't you think LFC is in need of a goalkeeper? Reina is getting old!

Reinas sill in his 20's he looks older than he actually is. hes still very young for a keeper got another 10 years left in him.
Carlos79

Goalkeepers can easily play until they are 40 if they look after themselves appropriately.

Tom.

Jus look at Van Der Sar and Brad Freidel, jus 2 keepers that prove you dont have to be young to be good

Carb

Very true.
And some defenders can also go on for quite a while, I stand corrected (maybe Eds can confirm), but wasn't Paolo Maldini (Milan) 40 years when he retired (remarkable).
Food for thought. {Ed001's Note - wasn't he 41 when he retired?}

41, and still doin' ok too.

What about Teddy Sheringham must of been well into his forties when he called it a day

29 Jan 2012 20:58:22
Hi Macca,
I for one look forward to your posts and I think the reason why some idiots question your info is due to frustration.
Don't take it personally, it's because we haven't signed anyone so the KIDS take it out on you.
Keep up the good work mate
YNWA

29 Jan 2012 20:54:18
Please stop posting this Tevez rubbish. He Will NOT be joining us.

1. He hates England.
2. He hasnt played for 3 months so wouldnt be match fit until March.
3. He is a mercenary and i wouldnt want him anywhere near our club.

I do think we need another striker ever if its just a short term fix - a bit like Henry returning to Arsenal.

Dan

29 Jan 2012 20:35:21
Nice to see Liverpool are getting back to normal. Still think we could do without Downing and Carroll, but as for new transfers, who knows. We'll have to wait for Tuesday.

Bit of respect mate.

To be fair downing had a gd game aswel as Carroll. I don't think downing is a bad player but I jus feel Carroll will be a gd player but jus not for us as he don't suit our style. Anyway praise wer due, Carroll had a good game.RedTurk {Ed001's Note - ok hang on, who stole your sign off???}

RedTurk didn't criticise! BLoody helL! edit please ed. {Ed001's Note - I am still recovering from the shock!}

Hi a fellow reds and eds I don't think we need anyone were really starting to gel now and Suarez back happy days.cheers Jodethered

29 Jan 2012 20:33:48
Hello

We don't need a striker this January, what we really need is to have all our key players available at the same time, fit and hitting form. Seems obvious I know but it hasn't been the case for well over 2 yrs.
Imagine having Suarez and Lucas back now with a fit Gerard, in form Bellamy and an improving Carroll!
Or is it just me that thinks that allowing a player to adapt and allowing a player to obtain fitness and confidence is quite important. I have faith in this squad, it's hungry, strong and not full of pre-madonnas. Please please just be patient and stop speculating about average continentals who don't have us as high on there hit list as we do them.

Patience really will prove to be a virtue with the players we have.

Believe!

I agree. I maintain that with a year of learning each other's games under their belts, this team can be a force to be reckoned with next season:

Reina
Johnson-Skrtel-Agger-Enrique
Lucas-Adam
Henderson-Gerrard-Downing
Suarez

Doni, Carragher, Kelly, Spearing, Bellamy, Kuyt, Suarez

Not to mention the young players in the process of stepping up (Flanagan, Shelvey, probably Sterling next season) and the likelihood that we will strengthen over the summer

Red Ollie

Just had a quick look on ssn website. Two headlines, one above, one below..

'Reds fail with Tevez approach'

'Carroll earns Kenny praise'

Ah, the irony..

Stu.

29 Jan 2012 20:27:40
Not been on this site all day then I heard from a fellow Liverpool fan that we've offered Carroll for Tevez!

Are you having a laugh - I thought he didn't want to play in the UK!! A loan deal for Tevez, but then again he's not been playing for months and will need time to get match fit - He looks the type to like his pies!

The press are stirring again thats all. They must get frustrated with the lack of info coming from lfc so try to rock the boat a little with bullsh*t like the Tevez story.

The other night after the game KD said "if Man City had any more players like Bellas they didn't want we'd be happy to take them off their hands" He could have been referring to Tevez then. Or a reporter could have heard this and thought I know how to sell a load of extra papers on sunday.

I mentioned that earlier aswell it could of been an indication?

alright eds bit of a strange one but iv just been watchin sky sports news an they had football agent sky andrew on who sed he is expectin a flurry of activity over the next two days. Now me bein not only a liverpool fan but a massive football fan in general, i am extremely excited for the nxt 2 days.

But what i wanna know eds or macca is do u think that liverpool fans shud get excited or not get are hopes up, i know people av sed before all different answers but i was just wondering about ur oppinion?

cheers in advance

big ANT

P.S one last thing sorry apparently we still maybe interested in a straight cash deal for tevez, correct me if im wrong eds/macca would saldado not be a better long term solution as the whole world knows the problems tevez can cause.

CHEERS {Ed001's Note - there is very much an attempt to sign players before the window closes, but I would still suggest not getting your hopes up. It is very difficult to sign players this January in particular, so we might end up with nothing.}

If liverpool sign cavani, I will scream like a little girl for 30 secs and post the video on here.btw it will be outside.

Would love lewandowski and kagawa from dortmund

ed 2 you have the patients of a saint to keep answering the same questions over and over. Kenny knows he needs a striker remember we signed 2 on deadline day last year both for mad money so dont worry because nothings happened yet by the 1st of Feb we will have what we want...

does anyone have faith in commolli?
the king was quite capable before wasnt he?
lets cut the wage bill with him and go back to when the manager managed?
paisleys slippers {Ed002's Note - Will you have your "Comolli Out" flag at the next game?}

Sad reply ed oo2

paisleys slippers {Ed002's Note - Normally it is player x out or Kenny out, this week Comolli out.}

Everyone have individual job to do. Kenny is busy with in filed, player section opposition player playing match. who is going to final the deal payment and terms all that?

He may not bring a flag but could well have his''Comolli''out !! B

You can't take away the fact that he discovered players like Luka Modric and Gareth Bale, so he's obviously got an eye for future stars. I for one wouldn't mind if he discovered players with similar potential for us for a minimal fee...

A.C.

Bare in mind that hes only following orders if liverpool dont buy anyone then obviously come for his superiors.

No way, he's brilliant! COMMOLI STAY!

and dont be rude to ed002!

Anfield has been rocking the last two games so let's keep it going, the fans and players can bounce off eachother. Some songs for more of the players like the old days will give them a lift and show them we are all in this together. Shook my head when stevie came off,but who am I to doubt the king.

Right ed Plz post this why do people speculate it is not going to make a difference whether you know today tomorrow or even tuesday nobody knows liverpools business but them so es will not be able to tell you he not a Liverpool representative so just wait people it's hardly asking a lot anyone can sign anyone do don't rule out anything nothing is impossible

29 Jan 2012 19:44:50
The tevez/carroll story was hatched by SAF in order for the papers not to talk about LFC ditching them out of the FAC and to piss Carroll off and cause disharmony in the LFC camp. We cannot let this happen!

Come on Cavani,

Manc coming in peace

Good result for you lot but not the greatest performance from either side.

I got ties with Brighton, the city not the club, and was seeing if you lot feel you will get a harder game than you did earlier this year?

Yeah you were gelling with all the new signings, but if i remember Brighton as well had a few new faces in the side.

Can see you scraping it but it is the FA cup wilder things have happened.

Gonna bang 20 on Albion should get bout 25-1 for that i hope ;)

Paso

Your right mate,
Brighton have got a lot of youth
in that team
and they look like they have a good
future ahead of them
unlike Man-U

Hiya mate,
Was just looking at the dates for the cup 5th round. They're the week before the Carling Cup final. So I'm wondering what sort of team will Kenny put out, and how their heads will be. Not like Bolton I hope. I think it'll be a tough game mate. Wouldn't be a total surprise if it went to a replay.
The Real KB

KB just seen the game is at anfield. I think this will mean it wont go to a replay but i am not saying liverpool are going to walk it - maybe a little complacencey will creep in with the win earlier this year, carling cup, and being at anfield it will be albions biggest game for a while.

Mr Nameless thanks for that really constructive addition to the thread, if it wasn't for people like yourself the average IQ of these shores may actual exceed 100.

Paso

It's a nice situation to be in. If we do get a replay would you like us to send you a post card.

Wish you were here

I went to watch Brighton against Wrexham, and Wrexham were the better team.

Paso,
Looking at our fixtures, we've got you lot at OT the week before the 5th round. Then Wembley the week after. So probably safe to say it will be a second string XI, with a few first teamers in or on the bench, for the Brighton game. It is a defo banana skin mate, even at home. Esp if they score first.
The Real KB

Completely agree KB, but if Utd beat you i can see you putting out quite a strong side, not first 11 with maybe 2-3 youngsters.
If its your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd 11 you will still be favourites and that plays into Albions hands - not expected to win means they got nothing to lose.
it's gonna be a good week of footie whatever the result.
Also anyone going down for the game there are quite a few cheap hotels, 1/2 to 3/4 the price in Brighton or Hove, in portslade that have good bus links to Amex.
Best bar for a drink would be 'king and queen' if you cant get into the SU at sussex.

Paso

Paso,
the best thing for us, is kenny's old school. he won't let whatever players go out against brighton disrespect the shirt again, like they did at bolton. I'd like to see a few of the younger lads like Robinson, Flanno, Coates etc get a bite. Them lads will give 100%. That's what will be needed. Match their work rate, maybe bring a bit of class on and finish it off second half. But I think Brighton will come and be inspired mate.
The Real KB

Will agree to that, Utd have failed in stages the last few years due to SAF wanting to switch it around constantly, what happened to the days when a player played twice a week for his club and then begged to play international friendlies?

Your youngsters are quite a cut above all bar ours and the best thing is they all look like getting a regular chance, even as a manc would like to see lil coady get a run out just to see if he cuts it.

Iwould be bit wary of coates if I were you in any formation than the 5-4-1/3-5-1-1 you play at the mo. Seen alot of the lad and he doesn't look to comfy in a standard 4 man defence. Similar to Savic at City - but time is on his side.

Also I feel like a right noob, commenting on how the game is at anfield then telling people where to stay/drink in Brighton. Fingers crossed next year you lot will get to do it again as Albion fight of relegation ;)

i have to say whoever thought man city would swap tevez for carroll need their heads tested. Carroll's form has been poor this season as has his attitude. He was great against the mancs but on his form this season why would the top scorers in the league need him. All this has done and was ever going to do is further damage the confidence of Andy. I hope this was done behind Kennys back because i believe kenny has faith that carroll will come good and i hope carroll will now prove comoli wrong in trying to ditch him...........if infact this is all true

I think that all the nay-sayers regarding AC have to remember that he is only a 22 year old lad who is still finding his feet in the EPL. Allied to that, he was forced out of his hometown club and he has the constant media reminder of his ridiculous price tag.

Give the lad a chance to settle and judge him next season when there will be no room for excuses. Look at how Lucas used to be treated and how important he is to us now.

29 Jan 2012 19:03:39
Hi Eds, I dont think we will sell Carroll. A loan would probably be best as I know a run of games will have him flying. I think it is just a confidence issue with Andy. Plus if he has a good run while on loan his value may not decrease to much. To early in my opinion to cut our losses.

Obviously for Andy to go on loan we would need a replacement, If we were to sign someone from another league (Soldado, Texeira etc etc) I would assume that the ball would have to get rolling tomorrow with the deadline being Tuesday night.

Although it is very unlikely with these cavani posts how does anyone on here know, seeing as KD has already said that they keep business behind closed doors surely no one will know untill it is a done deal, just saying.

Obviously no one knows. Just like we don't know that Messi won't be joining. Or that we haven't been secretly making a clone of Suarez in our secret underground lab which Rafa had constructed under Melwood. Oh crud, shouldn't have let that one slip...

Absolutely straight from the horse's mouth for you. My lad saw Andy Carroll with Stevie G and Aurelio amongst others in The Gallery in Formby last night. As well as describing him as "the size of a brick sh*t house" my lad asked him outright if he was leaving and Carroll told him that he was going nowhere. Anyone who was in The Gallery in Formby last night will confirm that they were all in there. The silly boy didn't take a picture though, but I believe there are plenty knocking around on facebook!

Hope he was drinking irn-bru ?

I hope he had 22 pints and a bucket of cherry vodka. Get back on the diet he was on in newcastle.

Just ask yourself this simple question.. Is tevez the player that dalglish would want in his dressing room ??.. Rather doubt it !!

If tevez can score more goals than carrol, why not?

You could say the same about bellamy and suarez. Hardly angels are they

For 4 months while both parties have something to prove? Absofeckinglutley!
ItsNotRocketScience

Bellamy wasn't exactly a dressing room fave! Look at him now, love by our club.

Jimbob

Kenny needs someone who knows where the goal is and tevez knows that one very well

With tevez playing and scoring we would have chance of getting the 35 million back when sold. {Ed002's Note - Who would buy him - nobody has even come close to paying what Manchester City want.}

Tevez knows where both goals are
and knows how to fill them,
his right and left pockets that is.
he's badsex and we don't need him.

IMO I think a swap deal until the end of the season could suit both clubs and both players. Man City claim Tevez will never play for them again so what have either club or player got to lose? Carroll would give man-kini another option and give Carroll a bit of breathing space to pick his form and fitness up. Liverpool need a goal grabber, a grafter with flair, Tevez has that in abundance. A loan swap deal, mmm could work for everybody, IMO

Sorry mate, i really have no idea..

I believe if the players are available the owners would not be frightened to spend..

Macca what you think of Tevez? He is available and if we got the money then why not spend it on goals all the way from Tevez. You think its happening or not(just a view).I am waiting for your views.

Not so much a rumour, but a fact. Sky Sports News have got no sources inside LFC. We haven't got the time of day for them. Just listen to the next interview and see how much contempt Kenny treats them with. The King won't even confirm details that are in the public domain to that blue nose Vinny O'Connor in his press conferences. Here's a real newsflash for you: they recycle crap stories, rumours and hearsay from blogs, websites, agents and those new parasites, the introducers, and give them a bigger platform to be aired on. They've got the same strike rate with their rumours as any other paper or sports show - about 1 in 10. The Carroll rumour happens to be one of the 9 in 10.

Sean.

The're in bed with Talksh!te as well so that says it all.

Sooty

Surely with us playing man city during the week if we had wanted to do a swap deal between carroll and tevez kenny would have spoke to mankini about it first to see if there was any interest where as it was reported some1 from our club phoned man city to propose the deal it makes no sense mankini was here wednesday night im sure some1 from lfc could have had a quiet word if it was true rather than allegedly phoning the next day for it to be then leaked lol

29 Jan 2012 18:25:43
Hearing 2 people lost their job today for breaching club protocol regarding leaking information to the media, also club are refusing entry and withdrawing press passes for all Times reporters. Dalglish has also ben asked to stop provoking the media. There are also high level meetings on monday regarding peoples future at the club.

LMFAO! Quality. A leak coming out about the leaks! Ha ha! Has anyone ever heard the saying quis custodiet ipsos custodes? Now we need a new one at LFC, quis rima ipsos rimes, who leaks on the leakers!

OK, thats exciting!
Maybe not good exciting, but exciting none the less.

Do Liverpool need a plumber?

So many leaks?

At least there's no leaks
in that defense these days.

Steve Clark

Steve,

Sorry about the small leak yesterday. I won't do it again.

There are lots of leaks in that defence since Lucas got injured - I'm just warning you - our CM is not good enough atm. We will pay the price if these tactics persist.

Perhaps i am being naive but I would have thought that LFC would have possibly sounded out Tevez's agent to see if he was interested in a move to Liverpool before making an offer. If the answer was negative then there would be no need to approach City, especially if it was going to leave us with an unhappy player who thought KK was trying to oust him in a swap deal.

According to Sly sports we went the other way about it. This somehow seems to be a little far-fetched. It would appear that the media would rather talk about anything other than the fact that the club have knocked both Manchester clubs out of the cups. Rather than reporting how the fans were, in the main, very well behaved in the circumstances, the focus was on fictional swap deals and one clown (who was old enough to know better) who was arrested for shaming himself and his family with alleged racial gestures.

I was at the game yesterday and although some of the abuse aimed at Evra was at times OTT it is nothing compared to the vitriol that Suarez will have to endure. It is time that the whole matter was put to bed but to watch tearful journalists on Goal on Sunday sob how KK's post match interview denigrated himself, the club and the fans was hard to accept, (especially as they avoided mentioning the whole Anton Ferdinand issue). Racism and discrimination have no place in sport or society but one-eyed media coverage simply tears at old wounds. Let's finally move on please.

Good points but i dont think Liverpool approached anyone regarding Tevez.

Well done on yesterday and getting to the 5th round of the mickey, oops sorry I mean FA Cup.
Good to see your Midfield played so well, given the total run around by a 37 year old and 38 year old.
You must be very happy and proud of your midfield with that showing, and very proud of your 35% possession against a weak United team and at home.
Congratulations, I see you have never beaten Brighton at home in the Cup, oh dear!
You guys owe me a lot of thanks after I subbed the Ginger Prince and actually allowed you to touch the ball.
Well done on your massive victory and see you at OT in a couple of weeks where I will get my revenge in a competition that matters.
Sorry I forgot it's 22 years and counting since your last league triumph.

Sir Alex x

This is just sad. I can see you sitting alone on the throne in your Crystal Palace waiting for the pizza delivery boy to come, hoping they did in fact forget the Basil on the side.

Don't forget ur world class goal keeper and enjoy thurday nite

You can all the possession but it doesn't matter if you don't create chances.... besides and rather than more goals than possession -McMenemy

Ha , if thats all you have , its no wonder your season is going down the pan big time , so how does it feel to see your team dumped out of the Champions League , Carling Cup , and oh , the FA Cup , not top of the premiership , beaten 6 1 at home , I may add to that other team in Manchester , the one that we just beat , tho they gave us a good game , and add to that , you are now a selling club , on the way down , ha we can all see it , and by the way , your not going to win anything this season ,

Tell you what mate if you had carried on and called the FA Cup a mickey mouse cup it would have confirmed what a sad and bitter Manc you are, You might think that you bossed the midfield yesterday and arguably you did have the better of it, but having the better of it doesn't change the score 2-1, oh and what happens when your 37 and 38 year olds retire......oh dear you'll have nowbody. Let's face it your on a downward spiral.
Oh and it's so sad that you have to hide behind the name of your Manager, you to$$er.

Is the League title going to be another mickey title when you don't win it? It is not our problem if you lot don't have any money to buy players, and play retired players. Btw nice try..you lot thought you could win without us having Suarez. You must be feeling pretty low..I mean we DID BEAT MARK HALSEY'S Unbeaten record lmao. Still couldn't win after having a 12th man.

The truth is united were not good enough thought you could pass it around like Barca, but your not anywhere near Barca in quality or ability, and eventually as per usual your lot were found wanting again at Anfield. Scholes was shattered, was worried he might collapse, Giggs looked like a pensioner all game, and after your lot ran out of steam there was only going to one winner of this game no matter who you had available.

BTW gets the cataracts fixed, phelan will only tell you what you want to hear!

Couldn't agree more Sir Alex. I think it's only right that you refer to the cups you get knocked out of as Mickey Mouse Cups. Hence, Barcelona might win thise years Mickey Mouse League, and you'll soone be getting knocked out of the Europa Mickey Mouse League, and watching your noisy neighbours lifting the Premier Mickey Mouse League. Your trophy cabinet must be like a holiday in Disneyland.

Sorry sorry man utd

Alex,

I am not going to tell you again!
If you continue to annoy the Liverpool supporters on this site, I will be serving you Brussel Sproats with every meal this week!
It should be more than enough to be a proud supporter of the Red Devils and I have said time and time again that we need to focus our efforts on getting our beloved club out of the dark financial and footballing abyss that it is sliding ever deeper into.
We could well look at Liverpool as an example of how dedicated supporters can create a groundswell that results in real change at a club, instead of our pointless green and gold scarves, which are impotent, not to mention very bad fashion sense!

Now I want you to slip into your Bugs Bunny PJs, snuggle up under the duvet and I will be home to read you a story and kiss you goodnight in 10 minutes.

And if I see you on this site again tonight, you can forget about our special trip to Blue Peter filming on Wednesday after University!

Kisses
Mum

This is just pathetic, you're "We are out so we don't care" attitude. I'm guessing the Champions League is just old news, now I hear that Europa League is the place to be. If you didn't care about the F.A. Cup then why did all your fans big up your win over Man City by by walking around with a hard on for a week and saying that it was better than the 6 - 1 result earlier this season.

Just face it, you out of all cups but the Europa and you won't win the League.

Thanks alex we will have a much harder game in the next round than against you lot. See you in a few weeks when I will get 2 against your very bad defence and keeper...........Luis

Funny the way mate that your not going to win the prem and the only over competition your in is the europa league! were going places while you are gradually getting worst. The only reward shall I say at the end of your season will be champions league football. But unfortunetly for you there is No chance of you winning it. Whereas we theres the big possibility of us winning the carling cup. the Fa cup and europa league football. So who is having the better season? your laughable

Danny

Cool story bro, needs more dragons though.
KiwiRed

You can attempt to draw positives and come up with fancy possesion stats but the only important stat is the score line which read Liverpool 2 United 1.

You criticise our midfield and constantly put down our team but you haven't even lead against us in either game so what does that say about the United squad?

JRG

I did not really expect any other result and don't either for the match at mold trafford, going on recent history. Its hard to win things with kids but you'll win nothing with Geriatrics. Lets face it your team is stagnant and dormant like a bowl of old faeces waiting to be flushed down the tubes.

Sir alex keep quiet or i will set my dog rafa on you : )

I find it funny mancs keep saying they had their reserves out we were missing Lucas our Player of the season last year and one our stand out performers again before the injury, no Suarez enough said and no Bellamy who stepped up to become our best performer lately add to that downing on the right maxi on the left and carra in midfield plus a s.g who is getting back to full match fitness and you get a Liverpool team that's not at it's best and still tired from out playing, running and classing the league leaders still beating the worst of the mancs who are obviously a team in decline ha no wonder they come On our page theirs must be depressing

Your right mate that utd team was weak, who was the clown in goal? Must've come straight outta the youth team, clearly not ready for first team action yet! Was lindegaard injured?

Also I would go so far too say that with all your possession perhaps you could've mustered up more than three shots on target?

davethebutcher

He calls it the mickey mouse cup because Utd arent in it, if they were, he'd be calling it the FA cup, enjoy your trophyless season Alex

Carb

'Mickey Mouse Cup', we had all the possession blah blah blah. The score was 2-1 to us and that's it! Who did you lot get drawn against in the next round? Oh yeah I forgot YOUR NOT IN THE NEXT ROUND ARE YOU? Carling Cup-GONE! FA Cup-GONE! Premier League-very likely GONE! As Rafa would say.......I'm talking about FACTS!

Don't come where your not wanted ok little boy!

The FA say two footed tackles get a red card... oh, wait it is Liverpool, cant have their fans moan even more can we... he should have gone simples.

It was a poor tackle and a red card could have rightfully been given. No one is arguing with you. You should apply for a referees license though, considering how capable you consider yourself. Would fit right in, especially with a little push from the FA.

What r u talking about you tube?

Manchester who?

No where in the rules does it say two feet = red card, that is just the most common, incorrect, opinion. Red card is for a reckless tackle.

Evra gets booed at Anfield as he reported racial abuse to the FA. Your player gets banned, and your fans boo the victim? Evra may get booed at Anfield, but Suarez will be booed at every ground in the country... and rightfully so. Your fans are an embaressment to the premier league... ps I am not a Everton or Manutd fan, but this is FACT.

Not one of your fans has come on here and said, ok he got done for abuse, fair kop - pun intneded - he should be banned and then a line drawn under it. Instead your 80s manager sticks by him and makes your club the most hated in the land. Im am sure your owner and investors are proud.

We are proud.. of our club, our fans and our players NONE of which are racist and if you cant see past your MUFC tinted glasses that Suarez was guilty of nothing more than calling someone a name then ur thicker than ur post suggested..
And while were at it, 8 game ban for name calling, yet 4 game ban for stamping on someones head?.. If theres logic in that then i fail to see it..
Evra got booed at Anfield for years, nothing to do with his colour... its cos he is an arse! Same as G Nev got booed too.. Quit grandstanding and trying to avoid the real issues.... Ur team is on the decline, U have no money and ur relying on a 38 & 37 yr old retired player to keep u going, Ur manager is losing his marbles and Ur out of every competition barr the league & europa cup!
Suck it up loser!

Wish these people would leave there name, players have got booed for years
mkdlfc

It's brainless, easilly led and confused people like you, that believe what they read in the brainless main stream press that will boo Suarez when he plays. Everyone with a brain knows why Vera was being booed, and it was nothing to do with his race. It's people who boo Suarez that should be ashamed of themselves for sucking in all the cr*p that's fed to them in the media. Nick.

Just because an investigative team of numpties took one persons word against another doesn't truly clear things. They claim Evra was the victim on his version of events only, there were no witnesses! Think of it this way, if Suarez was innocent, but stupid for choosing the wrong word, he has become the victim in this cos the press are doing their utmost to destroy him. They should concentrate their efforts on John Terry, you don't need to be a lip reader to know what he said to Antonio Ferdinand! {Ed016's Note - this is done with can we just move on now}

Ed016 I would love to move on, I was responding to other messages and a truly biased media who won't let it go and who are victimising Suarez on hearsay alone whilst doing nothing against their blue eyed boy Terry. Sorry but it's totally wrong :-( {Ed002's Note - You have no idea of what is happening with Terry then? THis was dealt with a few weeks ago - try the Search function.}

For all the fans dismissing or failing to entertain the idea of a Tevez move to LFC based on his bad boy history an obvious baggage, have you all forgotten how Cantona, Anelka and our own Craig Bellamy turned out with the right man management !! I would not trade Andy Carroll for anyone as i believe he has more potential than most but having said that i would dearly love to see Teves in the shirt as he can, and probably will again soon, prove himself an awesome talent.

are people actually thick those of you who think this tevez offer is Bull are stupid to round it up its been on SKY SPORTS probably the best place to get confirmation on transfers and rumours and yet people are asking the eds who must be getting pretty peed off by the amount of times it has been asked but all in all whether we go back in for tevez is a completely different matter or maybe its just to scare carroll to get him firing on all cyclinders but we will see on deadline day.

{Ed006's Note - Dont always beleive what you see on SSN}

SSN gets its info from sites like the ones we read dailly. When it was reported on here that KK was returning as manager Sky actually reported that Kevin Keegan was the man for the job. Honestly i work at Sky and its all guess work and by the way anyone watching after midnight dont bother its actually a loop until 6am

Whoever made this Carroll / Tevez rumour up, and it is made up, must be laughing their a*se off at the thought of Jim White walking around with trousers that look like a sideways circus tent.

FFS, if Liverpool supporters haven't learnt by now that journalists and other media will make things up just to increase hits on websites, increase paper sales or increase viewing figures, they'll never learn. If Jim White said on SSN tomorrow that it was Monday, I'd check a newspaper to make sure he was telling the truth. And if the paper I checked was The Daily Mail, I'd phone the speaking clock to make sure they weren't lying as well.

I don't tend to believe anything until it's proven fact Ed's, i was merely stating the fact that i would love to see Tevez in the shirt.I know he's a bit of a scrote but most of the best players are, including a number of our own. I will not elaborate on that one but you know the score !!

I think Brighton will provide better opposition then everyone seems to think. They will come to anfield with nothing to lose and I say there will be a few scrappy moments. Now although I believe the tevez/carrol rumors are rubbish I think that Andy may get a seed a doubt about them and I fear that these suspicions could build and cause friction but then I do have diagnosed paranoia. Looking forward to the wolves game but we really need the three points and I believe that the confidence will be sky high and we could go on a run. I think deadline day will be uneventful because of the game but I still think that at least one person will sign.

Hi eds, just a question rather than a post.
Liverpool were drawn away in every match of the carling cup run and win them games and are the away team of the final. If we win it will that be another little piece of history also have been drawn home in there 3 fa cup matches, could that be a start of another sequence. Lol

why don't people read the posts here before they post ? Tevez for Carroll is stale now, no way would liverpool pay the wages he's on, not unless he's willing to at least half them.
He doesn't even want to play in England anyway so it's never going to happen, stop posting them!!

I still think KD will bring 2 players in because despite the 2 good results, the team is lacking. I would love to see someone like Adam Johnson, but he won't want to leave a team at the top of the table and certain Champions league football year in year out unless he's forced out by Mancini

It's hard to say who will come in and TBH, i can't wait until Tuesday night to see the comings and goings. If there is no movement tomorrow, then Tuesday will be manic and very very interesting

if liverpool don't get a decent striker this transfer window you can kiss good bye to 4th place and the champions league.
never dalglish in his right mind would he go for tevez and he is probably disgraced by the rumours.

It would be beneficail for City to loan us Tevez, We still have all the title contenders to play, it could help City win the title....Bobbinred

HAHA nice one!

PITSILFC

You are clearly just disgracing a good club like Brighton.

Typical Liverpool, no one likes us and we dont care....

My post showns no disrespect to Brighon and certainly none to their manager who i have admired for a number of years and think he is doing a great job for them. it was merely a dig at the FA as we all know united generally get home draws against lower league opposition and i thouht it ironic that we get one this time.i dont expect it to be easy our home form, their nothing to lose attitude as well as a decent side that play football should make for an interesting tie, probably be on the tele too so the world can watch us slip up. i take no game for granted too long in the tooth for that i can remember bristol, reading etc so dont presume that i do take a game against Brighton lightly.
you could also add your name so i could reply directly... but presuming you are a bitter manc, blue or anyone else that i couldnt care less about keep to your own page as irony is obviously wasted on you and you wont therefor understand half the humour on OUR page

Tevez/caroll swap sounds like a whole load of b****cks however a loan deal for Tevez could be plausible as it would give liverpool a better opportunity to take points of the top teams around city. something worth thinking about... {Ed019's Note - MCFC Don't want to loan Tevez}

Why on earth would city give us another quality player, that has already cost them an appearence at wembley this year thanks to craig bellamy, there not going to hand us tevez simply because they don't want him and maybe hand us a champo's league spot which with a striker of that quality up with suarez would put us on very much the right path

Hi Edds, first of all top job! Good fun reading everybody's views and your input, and macca big thanks for all the information you pass on, on to tevez, I feel that he additional to our current team and strike force would make our 4th position task more achiveable, I do belive that the current squad can get is ther this season but love him or hate him Carlos is a world class player, who has a bad attitude, and knows how to score goals and work hard! Even if we only sign him till summer he can make a huge difference, if not I do hope to see a signing of some sort, and continued momentum in to the rest of the league and cup games, I do think Andy can show us what he did for Newcastle but deep down I think his time will be up before he gets ther, as for the support of us fans it's been a very hard last 3+ seasons and it feels like forever since we've shown the world who we are, the good times are not so far away so keep getting behind the boys and lets get fourth and win the cups we can! Keep beleving in them and it will come as if we don't who will the players understand the frustrations and if they know we are behind them they are goin to give us more than if we go agaiinst them remember we are LFC, lfcnath

Does anyone know if Glen Johnson was carrying a knock on saturday or could he be heading away this Jan {Ed019's Note - He is likely to leave this summer}

Just seems strange a england international left on bench for 1 of the biggest matches of the season and young talented understudy playing.Doesn't add up if Johnson fit

Maybe its because kelly's a better player

He was probably resting him? he was probably tired from the City game. Same with Adam same with Bellamy?

Or could be that the last couple of games he has been poor

I rate Kelly v highly and wouldn't be sad to see Johnson on 90 g's go but Kelly's hardly been used this season and Johnson hasn't had any mares that I've seen, if I was a betting man I would put a few quid on Johnson leaving in the next couple of days.Me thinks he was wrapped in cotton wool on Sat

Or perhaps, it's the fact that he played a full game only 3 days earlier. Kelly is a solid right back and hasn't had a game in a while. Squad rotation is not always a bad thing. I know people are biased against Johnson, but to say that Kelly is a better player is just stupid. A better defender maybe, but never a better player overal. By the way, who assisted on Bellamy's goal again? Yeah, go ahead an tell me Johnson was at fault on Dzeko's goal! Sure he was!

To get a ticket for that one mate you will need to sell your family into slavery and take out a second mortgage. Robbing a bank would help as well. I wish you the best of luck. RED LENIN

Have a look on the LFC website m8, then go to Tickets, and click on the game you would like to go watch and it will tell you what sort of tickets/packages are avaialble for that game, i was lookin myself recently and i think most of the standard tickets are sold out, most of what you can get now are Thomas Cook breaks and things like that, worth a look tho

Carb

Best thing to do is, apply for membrship @ 20 pounds each and then apply for tickets when they are available.

First thing you should do is visit lfc tv and make yourself a member. this will give you better access to games as tickets go out to members before fan card holders and those left for general sale. to phone the club direct the telephone number is 0843 170 5555 this can take a while or visit the website and and follow the necessaries.

This garbage about swapping Tevez for Carroll is an absolute joke. LFC are in the process of building our reputation as a well respected and world class club, the last thing the owners want now is Tevez with all his bad publicity baggage.

The manchester supporting press would have a field day for months slagging him and us off....you can imagine the stories they would make up.....its a joke....pity they never gonna get their wishes. Cabaye of Newcastle stamps on Jay Spearings leg, scuffles with a QPR player last week and last night kicks a Brighton player on in the chest in an off the ball incident. Again no mention in newspapers, radio or TV. This lad is getting away with it because he plays for them and not Liverpool, Chavski or United.

What a load of twaddle did you see the foul on Cabaye?
Ps have you began to realise enrique has flaws?
Thanks for the 41 million...Toon

Enrique's the best LB in the league.

Martin

Yes I saw the tackle on Cabaye by the QPR player. I thought his reaction was embarrasing. And if a Liverpool player had stamped on Cabaye like Cabaye did on Spearing, the Liverpool would have recieved a ban from the FA the following day or so. It was shocking, especially when Spearing got a four game ban for a straight red against Fulham for a less worse tackle.

Enriques not even the best lb in liverpool !

Enrique was Rubbish yesterday

Of course he has flaws...what did u think he was roberto carlos? or cafu! we got him for 6 million not too much in market today! and he has been proved every worth of a player now

Could macca shed some light on this outrageous swap deal?

Can he b****cks like, he didn't have a clue. Christ haven't you lot twigged yet?

29 Jan 2012 14:03:57
More of a discussion point than rumour - pretty obvious to all that the Tevez/Carroll swap is utter nonsense but a few seem keen to get Tevez in and that is what i would like to discuss.

Tevez hasn't played since October (ish) and hasn't trained since then either - as far as i understand it he has been in Argentina with family. Somebody else pointed out earlier he wasn't in tip top form before the whole City ruckus kicked off anyway.

So what people want is a possibly out of shape, out of form player who probably wouldn't want to be here playing for a wage he deems beneath him and possibly causing ugliness in the dressing room (no pun intended) - doesn't sound like a good idea on any level.

If we are going to sign someone before the 31st i hope its either an investment for the future (for example the younger Teixera player) or someone who could slot immediately into first team and make a difference (not many names spring to mind to be fair) - Tevez would be neither.

Tevez has been a great player, of that there is not much doubt but as to whether he is a great player now/today is questionable.

Thoughts?

Joff
PS made up for Andy yesterday - i hope he gets MOTM on the liv.tv site as i reckon that would do his form a world of good. If he had scored that tight angle it would've been lovely football pie.

29 Jan 2012 13:58:15
Look at the facts, we need a goalscorer, Tevez wants out of manchester, why dont we take him on til the end of the season (obviously on a fair contract to keep his resale value), then end of the season sell him for a like type price to wherever he wants to go, we get 2nd half of the season with a world class player, but if he knows its only to facilitate his move in the summer, it could work out nicely for all parties. He is proven in the prem and with him and LS up front with bellars mixing it up with either of them, we would definately have the firepower to get 4th. As for AC, if this rumour has any truth in it, then I feel his position is now untenable, like alonso's was with Rafa

Red4Ever

No way mate.

29 Jan 2012 13:55:30
Afternoon Eds fellow reds . All this tevez talk if kenny wants him he should sign him for 25 million on six month contract with chance to extend if he happy .if not sell him in the summer for the same amount or more if he plays well and scores goals, then everyone involved will be happy.cheers psv ps i would take him and he would improve our chance of top four and trophies .

That doesn't make sense.
If we signed Tevez on a 6 month contract then he'd be a free agent in the summer and he'd leave for nothing.
And I'd be very surprised if the club were wiling to offer him any kind of lengthy contract considering his previous form

29 Jan 2012 13:54:05
Why do supposed supporters of LFC think signing Tevez is a good idea. Since he has been playing in England, he has no commitment to any of the clubs he has been at. It would be better getting a player who would be happy in the team. Stop this nonsense he will not be coming.

29 Jan 2012 13:53:44
Those FA Cup draw balls need mixing better. I bet we get Spurs or Chavski. Suspiciously that is what ITV will want. If you no what I mean.

Hey Eds,
Just want to say a huge thank you to you all for your hardwork this January. You deserve all the credit you can get as there's some very fickle fans out there who'll believe anything the media and social networking sites say!
I do hope we sign someone before the window ends on Tuesday anc personally agree with Ed002 that we'll at least bring one person in.
Thanks again,
Dale B {Ed001's Note - thank you mate, it isn't easy these days, the lies being spread seem to be multiplying each transfer window!}

29 Jan 2012 13:45:46
All these fans hoping the Carroll/tevez swap deal won't happen are mad! People saying Carroll is coming good? Are you out your minds? Carroll is not and never will be good enough for LFC! He doesn't suit our style of play, his first touch is non exsitant, he never gets into good positions, and for a 6ft+ player can not head the ball! Andy Carroll is a championship player at most, now I am not saying I believe the swap stories but tevez is an awesome player, he would run back to mid field and win the ball back then run to goal and score, something Carroll will never do... And again before people slate me and say that's no what we bought Carroll to do, well football has changed a lot and hit a ball 60yrds hope our tall lanky striker will get on the end of it is never going to happen! We need to work the ball into the box and not play hoof ball, carroll out - tevez in any day
Lpoolkris

Why don't you buy him then?
Send your c.v in Liverpool might sack kenny for you coz you seem like you know what your talking about you brainbox!
Would you still think tevez was so great in 6 months when he refuses to train? Or when he demands more money? Get a grip mate!

Ashy

Can't see kk wanting rid of Carroll personally he's stated many times carroll is he for the next five years>

After a good week knocking both manc clubs outta two cup competitions, resulting in a trip to wembley for first time since 1996. Why oh why are we having to suffer more problems because so called fans are acting like idiots! It's not the Liverpool way it's not even an intelligent persons way! We need to stop the racism and stop it now! Otherwise I feel the fa FIFA and uefa could end up making an example of us! Grow up!!

Yesterday the Liverpool haters were out in force just waiting for someone/anyone to give even the merest hint of trouble and use it as another stick to beat us with. If, and it is an if as one photo still however seemingly conclusive is not evidence, the man photographed was making offensive gestures to Evra or any other black player then he is an idiot. There was never an excuse for such behaviour and to see it at Anfield in 2012 makes my heart sink.

I agree with your coments but remember it is ONE SO CALLED FAN and not fans. cheers psv

I love LFC, but six months of visiting this site totally destroyed any illusions I once had about our fans being some way superior to other fans. Every other post makes me want to scream - this person caught doing a monkey dance yesterday is yet another one. How could he be so stupid as to drag us back into this - i'm surprised he wasnt throwing bananas.

Liverpool 2 Man Utd 1 ( superb) makes Sunday a very nice day indeed. Reflecting on this weeks results and how important this week could be for the club. There is a definite whiff of optimism bending in beautifully with the smell of a cooked breakfast. the fact that i am able to consume a breakfast is proof of my well being currently. As i doubt it very much if I have ate anything to day if the results had have gone against us.

I am going to enjoy the moment especially today, as it been a few years since our name has been in the hat for the 5th round of the FA cup and the significance of reaching this stage,of the competition. As very rarely when we have qualified beyond the 4th have we been knocked out before the semis. i have a strong feeling we will reach the final. It's been a while since we can say we have a realistic chance of winning a couple of trophies in one season. so right is the time to enjoy a little good feel factor.
Just one more thing ignore the pathetic attempts by the media to try and spoil things by trying to upset Andy Carrol and the Club by writing absolute crap abou a swap deal with Tevez, KK would not entertain the little mercenary. He is a burden to any club and we have had enough problems lately, so the idea we would be prepared to bring in a trouble maker into our club is complete nonsense. The transfer window has been rather uneventful thus far and they are desperate for sales and SSN need viewer attention so they concoct what they believe to be feasible storys.
Just sing the REDS are coming up the hills boys. ( very apt right now) no one will kick us down.
We will sign somebody before the window shuts and I am sure whoever it is will be a good signing.
The future is RED.

My Cousins best mate is a scout for LFC and reckons Comolli has Mario gotze and Eden Hazard on the top of his summer transfer list. Hope its true we need a David silva type player to like up with the striker think gotze would do a great job. Hazard would also be great on the wing. YNWA

The media witch hunt against our club was obviously going to happen after all that's happened over the past 12 months. But as Liverpool fans, we should realise that certain reactions are what these parasites pray on. We are LFC and have bounced back from bigger dilemmas from this. Let them have their moans and bitter says, don't walk alone and respond. Keep your heads held high and represent this SPECIAL club in the manner that only real fans know, with respect and dignity.

29 Jan 2012 13:00:03
sunday mirror had us on middle pages pull out when we got beat by bolton last week this week we won and our on page 4,5 of pull out . hardly anything on back page only offside goal

What do you expect from the mirror, its no wonder they are banned by LFC for their biased and unsavoury reporting. They hate us, so what, who cares ?

Look, I don't mean to sound like an ass here, but would someone like to explain to me where (even if it were to happen which it wont) there would be any sense in us signing Tevez, his form before everything kicked off wasn't even that good. It would go against everything Kenny and the club are currently trying to do, plus there is the fact that he's an absolute merchant who obviously doesn't care about which club he's at and his wages would simply be unaffordable. So for all of you going on about a Tevez/Carroll swap or possible Tevez transfer, wind your necks in and think about exactly what you are saying. I don't care what paper, website or TV channel you heard about it on, it is simply implausible crap. Get some perspective people!

Didnt tevez turn us down a couple of years ago to go to mancs!? Why would he come now? Its all good being interested in players but it has to be mutual. Andy starting to find some form now. Get off his back. Give the young lad a chance to settle in.
Jayo

Merseyside is a much nicer place to live than Manchester the Wirral in particular has been voted one of the best places to live in this Country so if Tevez joined Liverpool and lived on the Wirral we would probably never be able to get rid of him.
Look at Rafa? not exactly in any hurry to get back to Spain; as the Wirral on Merseyside is Paradise

Carrol will be going nowhere, he may not be scoring goals but his hold up play and passing has been good for someone under huge pressure , just get off his back and give him time to prove what he is worth, why cant people just support the players we have and help them gain confidence instead of putting them down and making them feel they are not wanted or we could end up him playing his best season ever then leaving us .

29 Jan 2012 12:19:35
Can't believe the standard of journalism these days. It's just so lazy and agenda driven.

They don't seem to want LFC to be successful.

If we win, it's the other team that had an off-day, too many key players missing, luck went against them.

If we lose, our players are over-hyped, we paid too much for them, they're not good enough to get into the other top 4/6 clubs.

Yesterday there was some vile chanting from the ManU end about Hillsborough and the 3 fans apparently being arrested for spitting on the memorial.

However, these stories are deemed not worth reporting on. The crowd booing Evra is the only thing on most of their minds and how sick, disgraceful etc it is/was.

There's also the stories about how we didn't deserve to win and that ManU were the better team. Just because they had more possession, doesn't make them better (at least that's the way they've been reporting on our games when we have failed to win after dominating possession etc).

The fact is KK out-thought Slur Alex with the substitutions.
We had more shots on target. More shots off target. more corners.
We hit the bar when were already 2-1 up and Kuyt somehow put the re-bound wide.

I honestly can't remember Reina having much to do the whole match.

Great win - the only stats that matter are 2 goals for 1 against but we also made more chances. No point having the ball if you cant score - weve seen that this season.
As for the press I think they had their stories already written....but unfortunately some fans played into their hands. Sure the Hillsborough/Heysel chants provoked the response they wanted and that person on twitter should never be allowed near our ground again. The loss of our good name is a real worry. We have taken years to recover from the tarnished state and we need to rebuild this again through the good behaviour, sportsmanship and humour the vast majority of our fans display.

hi everyone , i would like to ask would you as fans really like to take a chance on tevez the way he has behaved, at united forcing a move? refusing to play for city, most people im sure would give anything to play football for bags of cash, this is not the sort of player we want at liverpool, no matter how good he may or not be, he is a cash vampire, who does'nt know how lucky he is

29 Jan 2012 12:18:28
Eds I know you have stated we have not offered Carroll to City, is this another one of those fake 't**tter' rumours put out to make monkeys of the press or an attempt to destabilise LFC when we are clearly back on the up? On a side note, I'm getting really pissed off with the Dalglish/LFC baiting too, I read an article on one of the other football sites...reamwalk or something like that saying how Dalglish has not been an improvement on Roy and in not the person to take us forward. They also stated that we wasted money by focusing on English talent who are under performing [All of them seemed to have a good game yesterday though] unlike Newcastle and the like who have bought Sessingnon, Bryan Ruiz and Demba ba ooooooo I'm soooo jealous. They conveniently forgot to mention that we bought Enrique, Suarez and Adam who between them have been brilliant. I know a lot of what we discuss is subjective and highly emotive but I do feel sometimes that we are being targeted and I really want to know why.

Slimboy {Ed001's Note - the media are just full of liars, they get where they are by making up nonsense. Truth and honesty are a disadvantage.}

So its not particularly an agenda against LFC per say, but a means of selling papers or setting betting odds on non existent stories. What I don't get is why so called established and I would have thought respected journals such as the Guardian and Observer running with such rubbish without making sure it is actually true. Well shouldn't be so surprised especially with what the NOTW have been up too, they would do anything to make a few pounds from selling papers.

Slimboy {Ed001's Note - that's exactly it, it is only money and the Guardian will simply say they are reporting on other people's reports. It is simply such a quiet transfer window no one has anything to say, so they make things up to fill column inches and keep readers interested.}

29 Jan 2012 12:12:22
This Carroll tevez swap doesn't sound like the Liverpool way to me. It would now mean Andy now unsettled for the sake of somebody who doesn't want to be in England. Hope Kenny comes out and denies it,we are better than this.

And Cheeky Chappie Harry is going to be next England Manager.., sorry the same Harry who's up for tax evasion.., no mention at all, the tax man wil not walk away from this and believe me there's a surprise to come when the case is settled, no way FA will touch him, but still no reporting on it, incredible journalism or lack of.

I knew last night we would face all this tevez crap on here this morning,
Why would any lfc fan want tevez he's a proven mercenary in football he's turned his back on every club that's supported him.
Also give carrol some time the lad is busting a gut and again the problem is he's trying to adopt to a new style of play with us and he also gets poor service in the way if quality crosses,
If we had a winger like Valencia played yesterday Carroll would be banging them in,
So trust in our squad and management lads we have to take it one step at a time, I'm sure if we signed cavani higuain and tevez ppl here would be looking for messi ronaldo and neymar the big names aren't always the way forward ie suarez, alonso, etc were not all household names when we signed them, ed can I have your opinion on this,
Thanks Wayne

If we were to sign tevez who would mancs boo most with suarez and tevez together . also concerning whether evra will shake luis hand on 11th feb . wouldnt surprise me if kenny made luis captain for that day . toss up would be interesting .

alan waddle

He was made to look like a mercenary by the press and his link to Kia J
Just as suarez is made to look like a racist
Both not true
West Ham - it was always the plan that Tevez and masch would play a season on a loan basis then leave
United - they messed him around on his contract and failed promises like we did meireiles
City - he left because Mancini is a complete prat and city will not win the league under him- mourinho will be there nex season

Tevez split from wife and kids sent his world upside down but now he is back on track - if we can guarantee his exit back to corinthinians and he respects Lfc the Same way we will respect him - I see no issues
He has seen how we stood by Suarez and masch must have given us a big thumbs up
Plus inter ac psg pulled out / no interest from barca/real - you never know come weds Tevez in a red shirt

so ,do u really think we can bid and get marko marin..the guy is quality, fast & skillful and is cheap..
seems like we need 1 or 2 players coz the squad is getting stretched without lucas & suarez and we need a playmaker..

29 Jan 2012 11:56:26
This swap deal sounds dodge to me, why support Andy all this time just to move him on when he starts to look like he cares.....oh and who would want Carlos selfish playing for us. DEFFO not the Liverpool way this

Hi Eds,

Do you know how reliable Sky Sports News and their sources are? Just wondered.

Thanks.
AK. {Ed001's Note - that depends, if news is short they will make up stories to fill space and stir up the betting market.}

Sky have no big transfers to highlight on their program so they have to have something sensational so they used Liverpool FC and Andy Carrol and also the supporter who allegedly made racist remarks the BBC are just as bad they cant mention Liverpool with out implying Luis Suarez is a racist and on sky sunday supplement the reporters saying how abused evra was yesterday because the fans booed him and that this is racist well evry football match on tv you will hear boos amied at players white , black , brown , yellow or red but they are trying to cause more trouble by making these claims disgusting biased reporting

The media bias towards Harry and his alleged dodgy dealings and Alex whisky nose is obvious. There is no room for the fan's behaviour yesterday, only takes one person for the media to gorge themselves on LFC. I would look at the Home Office statistics on fan arrests, Man U top the league and have the most banning orders. Don't see that in the press too often. The 'Truth' is what we want and should never accept the media witch hunt against LFC.

EVO YNWA

Just looked at the stats easily get them through a quick google, not the most up to date (09-10) but really interesting stuff, not going to jump on the were better than you on fans behaviour bandwagon, we can forget that whoever you support there will be some Neanderthal who's brain hasn't yet developed more than 10 thinking cells... Fulham, very much a family club - interesting that but for the touting arrests 20 we would have stood out really well amongst the top 6... Great post, Suffolkn'red

29 Jan 2012 11:40:57
Sorry but anyone who thinks the Tevez / Carroll swap deal is not true is 100% wrong.

It has been written about by Daniel Taylor, the Guardian / Observer NW football correspondent and he simply would not have been allowed to publish were it not true .

Go and check guardian.co.uk/football and you'll see it's 100% accurate.

It does let the cat out of the bag that we're prepared to let AC go, which leaves the player himself with two options.

Sulk - and prove all the people who have criticised him right, or pull up his socks and try & improve.

The problem is all the stories you hear about Carroll's attitude tells you he's far more likely to throw a wobbler and sulk than he is likely to knuckle down and actually prove he's good enough to play for us.

He's been at the club long enough now for the staff to get a feel for which way that is likely to go - and the fact that they are willing to get rid, even if the news has ben leaked by City - tells you all you need to know.

He's not going to last. {Ed001's Note - are you serious? You think he would not be allowed to publish it if it wasn't true? You need to get a grip!}

Nurse!? Nurse!? We need you to sedate your patients and stop them from having access to the internet.

Tevez is not the answer and this seems like a load of bull. Unless the two clubs have drummed this up to get interest in a player they each want rid of maybe, far fetched however? Not sure about this. AC should defo stay

To be honest i can't believe we offered Carroll for Tevez the lad played well yesterday an he must of had a confidence boost an then we do this to him?

Hes young an you can see he's got potential so why get rid of him for a tyrant who just cares for money and could unsettle the team?
skurks

29 Jan 2012 11:34:21
Why the hell do some LFC fans want Tevez?

Yes he can score goals but lets look at the diadvantages of siging him:

1- Has caused disquiet and mayhem in every dressing room he's been in. If he did come to us (which he won't) I'd bet my years pay on him upsetting the balance and putting half the players noses out of joint.

2- He hasn't played in nearly three months. He'd need a new pre-season to get him up to match fittness.

3-He says he misses Argentina. This may be b*#@*&^ks from him as I'd expect him to go to Italy or PSG but it's pretty clear he wants out of England.

4- His pay is ridiculous. Even if we would pay it we'd have to double Stevie Gee's pay for parity (and I'd rather give that money to someone who is at least dedicated to us), and increase Renia's, and probbly Carra's. We're now running with very little debt and living within the clubs means but some people wanna throw that out the window for a mercenary?? WTF?

Oh and just a comment on this swap twaddle they're peddling. I think it is balls. Why would we swap a young player who is starting to find form for us ( i think he was one of our best, if not our best player yesterday), who is english (remeber the quota thing!), and in a year or two will be a vital part of the team. To the Carroll haters - everyone says give the youth a chance, well, is Andy nearing retirement... he must be! He is still young and adapting to our playing style. Now I get as frustrated as any by him sometimes but am not going to write him off just yet. I learnt my lesson with Lucas (hated seeing him come on at the start (though never boo'd him) but now would gladly give him my ligaments just to get him back sooner: PS would also give bellamy my knees so he could play more often!)

Sorry, rant over!

JJ

I cannot believe any of you idiots can believe we proposed a swap with Tevez. Everyone knows that Tevez wants out of England. This is the normal press BS and if you are gullible to believe it that is up to you. Hell most of you think Torres is coming back. Dream on guys, get some reality and get behind our team.

29 Jan 2012 11:25:36
Im not usually one for conspiracy theory's but when ever we have a good run or get the rub of the green. The press react to try to pull us back own. The big man had his best game for a while and started to show why we broke the bank to sign him. Next day I wake up to this load of tosh, can people not see through this. This could of come from a number of sources but I'd put my money on some where east on the M62.

29 Jan 2012 11:24:28
Remember folks Kenny choses his words carefully on weds in 2 separate interviews he said mancini/city have my number if they want to offload a player like bellars

Kenny does the best interviews and does not just spout out rubbish like Benitez eg slagging of anyone at the club from owners to players to coaching staff / boosting his own ego / negotiating his own contract in the press - poor rafa never really understood the Liverpool way he only knew the Benitez way - hence why Kenny subtly reminds us of this in every interview

Leam Red

29 Jan 2012 11:16:35
I believe the Tevez rumours are 100% true
If Kenny can pull this off he will no longer be the King but will become the Merseyside Messiah

I think we should even forgot the player swap and offer the straight cash city are looking for (leave till Tues as final figure will be lower as all other interest from other clubs has ended)

The thought of bellars/suarez/Tevez chasing down defenders and interlinking with each other makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up

The deal is a no brainer we keep Tevez for 3 yrs then sell him to Corinthians aged 31 for 50% of what we bought with a player exchange ie their most promising youngster coming the other way

I remember a certain troubled player called Cantona who was literally thrown out from every club, moving from a championship winning side to a team on the up - this just the kickstart we need

Tevez is not a mercenary, as you could say that about Bellars who has fallen with half his managers even Benitez !! I think tevez would finally settle at Lfc under Kk - he will accept a drop in wages - he has proved Money is not his only motive otherwise he would have been back at city 11 weeks ago apologising to mancini

Leam Red

And his wages will be paid by whom? and What about our highest earners, we will have to increase their wages so who will pay that? £30+ mil for a player who is 28, and spits his dummy out when things are not going his way? Wake up son.

I think KIA and Tevez realise that no other club are going to match his wages at city - the only clubs that could come close have pulled out
Lfc will offer £120k max - think gerrards new contract no longer guarantees him the highest salary due to his age
It is better than the deal man city are now offering - £0 wages and a court case and life on the bench {Ed002's Note - But not even close to what PSG offered.}

Some1 put that tevez wood come to Liverpool in a swap deal with Carroll 1 week ago and all of u and the edds said no impossible well look like the lad did no something so next time listen and if u don't no don't disagree and slate the lad cuz he was called all sorts of names and naw looks like it is true

Big jeff {Ed001's Note - grow up, the papers and Sly Spurs News just make up guff because the transfer window has been so quiet.}

A mate of mine works in full body prosthetics. Apparently, Clint Dempsey was in last week with photos of Carlos Tevez asking if there was any chance of a perfect likeness. Guy must be really desperate to join us!

Could there be a possibility of a bettered offer for Tevez say £30 mil or loan to permanent deal? Or will we just leave it as it is? Personally I would prefer Cavani but then again I am a very optimistic fan... Lol

Thank y'all

You said on 24th you may get more info on transfers / attempted transfers after y'days game.
Have you any more info or ideas on what the club are trying?

I take my hat off to the owners and DC, if they did try that swap deal with AC & Tevez.
They've got some front!
JamieMK

Agree. Potentially a brilliant, daring move. And I have a sneaky feeling the affair is not over yet.

Tevez is definitely nightmare to manage but when he does play he gives his all. I distinctly remember him being City's best player when he used to turn out for them.

Would hate for it to be true. They would go down in my estimation bigtime.

29 Jan 2012 10:18:32
More a question than a rumour if you dont mind ED's..... i would just like to get your opinion on this one.....Why don't City loan Tevez to us for the remainder of the season? it makes a lot of sense to both clubs,
1.he would'nt have to return to Manchester,
2.he would be playing against Man C's main rivals hopefully scoring lots of goals, as you know, we still have games against Man U and Spurs,
3.It puts him in the shop window for the summer transfer market, if the loan doesn't become permanant,
So he could still help Man City to win the League title!!
What do you think?
Keep up all the good work.....YNWA Ed's

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City wish to sell the player.}

I agree it would make sense, in their eyes, to loan him to us but I wouldn't want him. Will he ever show the passion the rest of the team does? Wouldn't it be more likely that he disrupts the team? He has undeniable talent but an awful attitude and I think that would send out the wrong message to the team. We want players to play for the shirt, not for themselves. Those who walk alone will forever walk alone.

The important stats from yesterdays game.

Corners: Liverpool 5 Man Utd 1
Shots of target Liverpool 15 Man Utd 12
Shots on Target Liverpool 5 Man Utd 2
Goals Liverpool 2 Man Utd 1

Yep! Man Utd really should have won.

The Irish Rover

Irish Rover, pretty sure our captain stated in his interveiw after the game that Liverpool didnt deserve to win, on possession or general play. That Man United controlled large perioeds of the game. Maybe instead of everyone sprouting how well we supposedly played maybe listen to our captain hey? We were well below the level we played against man city midweek.

Steve

Have a look what your own captain said

Ever hear of the word SARCASM steve, look it up b4 YOU go sprouting off, maybe we were below par from midweek, never the less we won didnt we.

maybe if cavani does come he can do what he does for uraguay with suarez.

After trawling through most of the sunday papers out there, If I hadn't watched the game yesterday, I wouldn't have a clue that Liverpool had won an FA cup tie against M@n united.
But, I certainly would know that a single person in the crowd made a monkey gesture towards a player (i'm assuming it was Evra). I would also know that (apparently) we are trying to give Carroll to any side willing to offer us a bag of crisps in return for his services. I heard yesterday that a few opposition supporters desecrated the Hillsborough memorial, not a single mention of it in the articles I read.
Now, every fan out there thinks that their team is treated unfairly in someway or another, But the media bias against LFC in this country is incredible and undeniable. I've stated my opinion on racism/name calling on here before, what that person did yesterday is racism, and he will deservedly get his just desserts when the police and LFC find his identity. But in general it was a good game with both sets of fans behaving themselves, given the circumstances surrounding the game. There was no mention of the good stuff from the game, no mention of Kennys tactical superiotity over 'Old whiskey nose', No mention that Carroll had his best game for us so far, and hardly any mention of the fact that Liverpool are in the hat for the next round draw and United are not. All the media are interested in was 1 person in the crowd and how Fergie thinks they smashed us.
Also, I would have thought that the 'next England manager' about to be sent down for Tax evasion would have had more publicity than it has done so far.

Tommy Walsh

Bang on mate. It's agenda driven not football driven. I personally avoid the paper and come here it's generally the sancuatry from BS.

Great win yesterday thought we were outstanding without the ball, they only got in behind once, and caroll was brilliant. Some of his flick ons were inspired and basically finished with two assists. Delighted for kuyt as well getting the goal. Role on the wolves game let's hear the fans sing!

Realistic red

Good post tommy.
kopfiend 1978 ynwa

Tottaly agree tommy it,s not paranoia it,s true week in week out same old media guff against us so there are some divs there allways has been but that does seem to be bigger news than the actual sport.i come on here and read the echo and thats it the rest just stir it non stop.anyway nothings gonna ruin my week ha ha.KYB.

I still believe every Liverpool fan should avoid all bias "Newspapers" and Sly Sports (Other then we were playing then avoid their opinions on the match). We shall see how they cope without the second largest fanbase in the UK

Regardless of wether we sign anyone in this window or not. I believe alot of you are under estimating the impact of Luis's ban will have on the team as we near the business end of the season. He hardly had a rest over the summer without a proper pre season. But for me we have hardly seen any game time with him and stevie playing together and with the form that bellamy is in aswell I think The 3 of them in tandem we will be very satisfied come the end of the season

77!

Just remember suarez came to us after a 7 match ban and how good was he then? I think it's all coming together ( knock on wood)

29 Jan 2012 09:41:46
I wonder will the media report on the abuse suarez will get at utds dump and every other ground for the rest of the season. U bet ur ass they won't. U would think evra was mobed the way they we're whingeing.then they bring up a story on utv news about an lfc supporter been racist and a picture of him.no mention of the utd spam that where arrested.lfc supporters will be scrutinised every game from now on when alot of the same kind of thing goes on at every ground but lfc supporters will be the only ones punished for it.
Ben irish. {Ed002's Note - If, and it is a very big if, Suarez plays at Old Trafford I am sure that it will get full coverage in the media.}

By the time the Man Utd game arrives, Suarez will have done his 8 match ban & no doubt paid his £40,000 fine. There is no reason for him not to play. He has been punished. If he has to miss this game then he might as well have got a 9 match ban.

As a team I still don't think Liverpool train to pass an move it looks like we have tactics and stick to it but when teams pressure us we give the ball away a lot, when a player has got the ball sometimes he doesnt have an option, no 1 moves for him it drives me mad that they look static sometimes an other clubs are movin all over the place.thats my only complaint yesterday other than that good stuff!!
Just need a tricky play maker in the modric mata silva mold to keep us flowing.(prapering my self for disagrees)

Kp

You but Carra in midfield and that's what happens, notice when Bellars Adam came on we started to pass and move....

If we have a team of Reina, Johnson, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique, Bellamy, Lucas, Gerrard/Adam, Downing, Kuyt/Maxi, Suarez the team dominates possession and plays pass and move well.

I just saw that big andy has 6 goals in 22 starts for us. You think how he has been a bit unlucky, hitting the woodwork 4/5 times. Now if all those had gone in, he would have had 11 goals in 22 starts making it a goal every 2 games which is not a bad stat at all. Lets all get behind him now. Come on.

The bull

Your living in dream world, every striker hits the woodwork if we count all of them as goals we will be living in a dream world like u.RedTurk

Two minds think alike.he has only started 22 games and abit more luck and he could have at least 12 goals, not bad for the stick he gets, torres has 4 goals in over 40 games for chelsea so andy is not the worst and is still very young...irish kopitie

And 3/4 wonder saves against him to be fair too!

Rather live in a dream world than your RedTurk. How is it possible to be so negative?? You should consider supporting Everton, they're use to having a moan and not winning anything.

Anyone else think it might be a case of be careful what you wish for with Carroll, just little signs of a good player starting to come through. As a lot of us said he needs time. But if you want to play for the best club in the land, it is up to you Andy.show us you want it and you will get the support.

Controlling posession doesn't always mean controlling the game, United played exactly how we wanted them to play, the rest is history.

If we wanted to play the possession game against them yesterday, manU wouldn't have had a chance against us. We played the way we played because that was how we wanted to play from the onset.

Isn't it ironic when some of the liverpool fans were telling to sell dirk kuyt and when he scored yesterday they were singing praise forhim.a fantastic servant of clun and he will never walk alone .-mihir

MOTM fever...i still believe we should sell him, sorry...

Kuyt set the goal for Bellamy in City match.

What's ironic about that? Kuyt is 32. He has squandered plenty of opportunities in front of goal this season. He may well have made a fantastic contribution over the years but now it's just not happening. Do you want LFC to award him a new 5 year contract because he scored a goal yesterday? You sometimes have to let go...

It's time for him to move on and play a few more seasons. He could play at a high level for another 5 years but not for a team with CL ambitions.

I'd rather see him playing every match for a mid table premiership team than the last 20 minutes of every other game. The guy deserves to play the game he loves.

Kuyt is a Liverpool legend and always will be.

Same here he scored yesterday but his time has come... works all day long but way to wasteful, a decent keeper yesterday and he would have missed. thanks for the years but we need more quality.

just a quick question fro Macca ,
you mentioned you may have a bit more info after Saturday.
any luck or is it all still hush hush ?

29 Jan 2012 02:32:25
Rumours are picking up, still don't think we should expect a huge money signing until the summer.

Suarez coming back, Kuyt 's kickstarted his season, Bellamy is on fire, Carroll had a good game but when Suarez comes back I think Carroll's game time will be limited.. But hey I'm not the manager so just speculation!

I think we should spend on a winger definately, theres some talent out there but are they available is the question?

I think something may go down deadline day, we shall see!

Liverpool to make a loan move for tevez for the rest of the season in the hope this will get Liverpool in the top 4. Once in the champions league Liverpool will make there move on cavani and hazard in the summer.

U r spot on there the 2 players lfc need in the summer,if we get these then defo a push for the title this is all lfc is missing, i would love tevez on loan for the season

City won't let him go!
I told about Tevez interesest early December and no one believed me then.
City want 25/30 mill and not interested in a loan deal.
Liverpool want a loan deal but are hesitant on buying him as they know his uncertainty.

Looks like the deal is dead and buried! Or is it?

You are going to get such a thrashing at Old Trafford it's not going to be funny!

Seeing as your boys didn't see much of the ball today against our reserves you did very well!

Please, don't hate people who stand up for their right to be respected as equals.

Evra/Suarez, it is now a time for peace. It has been dealt with, and all should move on.

Liverpool/United is a great and cherished rilvalry. It is a beautiful thing in world football. No quarter offered, and no quarter given.

It must never be an event to be held behind closed doors.

Without each other we cannot truely appreciate the gift winning or the despair of defeat, and that's what it's all about, isn't it?

I am gutted tonight, you are rightly delighted, that's how it should be!

We are all the same. We love our club's, and love our football. Most important, we should respect each other as human beings.

After all, you are still only 7th in the league ya losers!

Sir Alex x

I was going to ignore your 1st 2 lines because then u started talkin sence and whilst reading it i started to respect you but the way u ended it shows after all your a spam.... 2-1 put it in your pipe amd smoke it .... Lfc786 LONG LIVE THE KING

I meant SCUM LOL lfc786

I agree with everything you said there Sir Alex, but tell me, we've been having troubles in Anfield here. What do you guys use to polish your European cup?...Oh you don't have one! Really? You don't have your own European cup? Sure it must be in the post though.... Oh your not in it anymore... neither are we.. but next year, you'll win your own though... Oh Sorry, I forgot you don't get to keep the cup anymore, so you'll never have your own European cup. Well don't worry. You can come and see our anytime.

Lots of love
JJ

Two-One, Sir alex x, Two-One :)
That's 2-1
You lot are getting used to losing these days

Ha ha a manc with a handshake.
go suffer WE ONLY HATE MANCS

So Evra, Scholes, Giggs, Welbeck, Carrick are all reserves eh?
Glad to see you mancs are realizing their true worth as well.

PITSILFC

"if you aint firs your last"-Ricky Bobby.Youre precious spam u will never catch man city for the title and you wont win anything this year...atleast we're in contention for 2 titles! and even if you guys make champions league and we dont you'll still fall out in the group stages next season cause it looks to me like man u ran out of special fundings towards certain match officials, so you guys lost that important edge that made you win so much, all in all, i just want to say sir alex enjoy mediocrity and dahm!! it feels good knocking you out of the FA cup bahaha you must be hurting son, you must be hurting!!

This month has been hectic for our players but next month will be less hectic so we'll be coming to old trafford totally refreshed to give your 1st 11 a thorough thrashing. Hope you'll be there to witness Suarez tearing old toilet to shreds and giving Evra a new one.

BooDaBooze

I can't believe what I just saw. The coffee machine in work has a man utd button on it...............its if you don't want a CUP!.......pmsl

Oh dear, that "bitter pill medication" remedy does not seem to be working!.
Can I suugest that you rather dish up a large portion of 'humble pie' to feed your rather grumpy disposition this morning.
Enjoy the humble pie, best served with lashings of angry syrup, and bottle of stale beer.
Have a good day Sir Alex, remembering what could have been, and dreaming about the next installment of the De Gea and Evra show on the cartoon network.
Food for thought.

Slur Alex x, you can't complain about using your "reserves" because you couldn't of fielded a stronger side if you tried. Our game plan was obviously to allow you to try your passing game, go up the other end where you defence is exposed and tear you apart. Just because KK got his tactics right and your senile old fool didn't, no need to pretend like you'll beat us at your stadium. I'm sure our fans will make it seem more like Anfield anyway, without the history. You remember when you lot put it YNWA (You'll never win anything?) Hmm, seems a lot as changed. I guess we will have to see if you can hold on to top 4 as by next season you'll be scrapping it out with Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs for it.

Have to say, it's been a while now since we've been feeling the 'despair of defeat' after a liverpool vs man-united match. A 1-1 draw is a disappointing result for us. Suarez will be back for the Mold Trafford game and we'll be making sure we'll have those 3 points off you (again) and pissing on your premiere league bonfire.

We only hate mancs

Brilliant result from the guys yesterday. Thought Carra and Rodriguez were a bit anonymous but still played their part. Downing is a far better player on the left in my opinion. Keeps going and pings in a quick cross with his best foot rather than when playing on the right having to cut back and slow it down a bit. Not a criticism, just an observation.

Neverthless, fantastic result and no doubt get either Chelski or Spurs away in the next round.

now peeps dont shoot the messenger, got this from a trusted source down my local tonight, andy carroll has offered king kenny to man city in exchange for tevez and 50m.Carroll has admitted to mates although kenny is good in the air he feels hes not mobile enough.carroll plans to splash 50m on cavani who he hopes will then persuade texeria to join for nothing to as he loves suarez. As i say just passin it on,will update when my mate finds his way out of mcdonalds..Rosred

There is no truth or sense in any of these rumours, and it seems some fans would welcome it.

ED01 would liverpool be interested in Mourinho? where do you see him going in the prem when he quits madrid at the end of the year? {Ed001's Note - nope and no idea, I don't really care, I hate watching his teams play so I would rather he went somewhere else so I don't have to watch them.}

Which team could he go to? By my reckoning, the only team that could possibly be 'big enough' for him and need a manager/want him as manager is Spurs, but even that sounds a bit weird to me!

DP {Ed016's Note - United}

Oo is Fergie finally on his way out?

DP

Chelsea it's pretty obvious as ed002 has been saying this for months they are made for each other

His most likely destination will be man city or spurs and he will not come to anfield at any circumstances, his success heavily depends on money and his tactics, considering our clubs policy he would never join us if he isnt backed up by cash so no anfield destination for him

The very thought of that smug a***hole being in charge of this proud club has made me very ill.

Todays win and against city were excellent wins and still have us in good stead for trophies now. United will qualify for champs league but I wouldnt swap places with them.

They might not be worth as much money but trophies and worth far more for your reputation.

Also maybe people will get off Carrolls back now as he has contributed to 3 goals in his last 3 games. If he isnt scoring then at least he needs to create which he is.

Eds do you know why Gerrard was subbed so early? Fatigue or was kenny not happy with performance?

Rewflo {Ed001's Note - he was just tired and Kenny wanted to change things around a bit.}
