RE:". well craig bellemy is poor excuse for a human. "

Sorry mate but that's just out of order. You might not like him but there is a lot more to Mr Bellamy than golf clubs.

Its the way he treats people.he is very arrogant and self centred. He gave my kid a lecture when kids on the training field wanted a few autographs. He made the kid cry. When my wife went over to talk to him. He had the cheek to give her his number.

Said she would lucky to have his cock in her. He really meant it. She should be greatful for the offer! he is a piece of s* t and i hope he rotts away in 1st div.

Julien Faubert, Valon Behrami in from westham. i like Behrami and westham r a swllin club and the players would come. they already play in the prem.

Roy. . will you get to bed. . . we have a big game tommorrow! !

Seems Liverpool spiralling downfall is turning for the better and a win tomorrow will be great, with Nesv and Roy promising we will be fighting for the best signature's money can buy I don't see any reason why we can't by challenging again next year. Just a few players here and there and we will be back at the top were we belong in no time!

Come on you Reds YNWA . .

O and also for all you fans slagging off the club , Go and support someone else! !

Yes Rafa was manager when we won the CL in 2005. .with Houllier's team. That second half in 2005 was down to Didi marking Kaka out of the game (fair one Rafa) and the PLAYERS getting a grip and playing with pride. .coz there was fcuk all else left to play for at half time.

Carra was EVERY LFC FAN EVERYWHERE. He would have died for the club that night. Awesome living legend.

In 2007 it was Rafa's team and Rafa played absolutely sh*te tactics against a Milan side ready for the taking . .and lost.

What I am getting to is why is Rafa considered to be such a fcuking answer to everything by some of you? ?

Was I the only one watching some of the most boring football ever played by LFC by a selection of the all time top ten worst players ever to put on a LFC shirt??

A LOT of Raf's signings have been utter sh*t. Just like his tactics.

Get a grip.

Frenchy.

Can't believe some of the things I've been reading on here. It's a sad day when Liverpool 'fans' are becoming just like fans of every other team. I know the club has been in turmoil recently over the ownership (which hopefully has been resolved for the better) and the change of manager (which had to happen for so many reasons) but I can't believe that so-called fans have turned against Hodgson so quickly and are now turning on Carra! On top of this we've got an editor who would prefer to have an inexperienced Championship manager in charge of our beloved club (and presumably from his comments would rather have Ayala in defence ahead of Carra). Of course our club deserves better than what we have seen in the last 18 months. LFC is one of the biggest clubs in the world in terms of history and fanbase. But the fact is that we won't get back to the top if we get dragged into a spiral of constant scapegoating and cynicism. First it's the owners, then the manager, and now the players who we once hero-worshipped who are now not good enough. Have some faith! ps. could you also please stop hankering after every average player who has a half decent game for their club once in a while, it's embarrassing. In my opinion the new owners will only sign young, ambitious players who are fit to wear the shirt and who are way above the quality we can bring up from the reserves. Sorry for the rant but I think it's time to get real and get behind the team.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I'm always behind the team mate. But how can i get behind Roy IF some players don't even believe in him?

I never ridicule our players but i have to ridicule our manager for me he's just not good enough the league dosn't lie.

RE: switch to a 3-5-2

Hodgson hates having 3 at the back because they are unable to cover the pitch space. 4 men at the back can cover the space better.

Plus CBKs hate moving out of central positions because it makes them look stupid. eg Agger playing on LBK, too much space around him. CBK are strong big and good at head, but hate lots of space around them and prefer to stay central

If we had the players at the club. Then this formation could work. Rememeber the england team 1990. they played 3-5-2, but Stuart Pearce was a LBK playing centre. He could play both positions. The same for RBK position.

England played one CBK and two players that where lbk/ cbk and rbk/ cbk players. England also had Paul Ince dropping back into CBK position to cover the space.

Now for liverpool to play this positon. we would need Emiliano Insúa back and javier mascherano back. Plus Carragher would have to step into a time machine and get his legs back.

Agger may be able to LBK/ Cbk
Skrtel CBK
Carragher RBK/ CKB

This would allow G-Johnson + Insua to play the wings.

mascherano would have to play DM/ CBK play push up the pitch. So a hard tacklin quality DM is need.

Gerrard, Meireles (holding midfield.

Joe-Cole (Act Mid)

Torres (Striker)

Renia

< - - - -Carra Skrtel Agger - - - - >

javi mascherano
G Johnson Insua

/ /
Gerrard Meireles

Joe-Cole

Torres

But still you would be worried by carra and Agger ability to cover the space at the back. This formation would allow G-Johnson to run > and Insua to attck the wings. Torres would get crosses.

Joe Cole could play creative.

Gerrard and Meireles would hold the midfield. Beni could of played this formation,

Ed you day there needs to be a new board before we appoint a new manager why? If john Henry wants to sack Roy surely he can

30 Oct 2010 23:34:55
A lot of fans have commented on Joe Cole.

I have contact who was with Chelski about 4 years ago (under Jose) and from working with him he said the boy has the best first touch that he has seen. The ball usually sticks from any angle. He also said that technically he was superb. However, he was not football intelligent. He would not make the right run. invariably not play the right pass. A case of nice footballing lad but fairly ineffective at the top level. Again, his words not mine, but from evidence not too far wrong.

We are Liverpool supporters are we not? But we are starting to sound like MANURE fans, we pride ourselves on being a more knowledgeable and patient group of supporters. I know we have had a bad start, but how do we know what Roy is going to be like in the transfer market with money? When thus far he's had fu@k all to spend. As it is my understanding the new board will decide transfers on a committee basis.And don't forget KK had a say in some of the transfers this season. I didn't think Roy was the right man for the job from the get go but he's here so lets get behind him, and this great club of ours
NESV say they are here to listen so please do and don't sign Young! I would like to see Honda as he is creative also he would give service to Nando that he has been missing this season aswell taking the pressure off Stevie g, we would earn his fee back(and then some) in shirt sales in the far east. Everyones a winner we should break the bank to get him
We need start giving the likes of Kelly, Mavigna, Shelvey, Pacheco and Amoo etc more game time, they needs to be given a chance they won't win us the league yet! But they have a lot talent, what do you think ED? {ed's note - I agree to a degree mate, especially on the youngsters and Honda, but I am worried about Roy picking the players we buy. Not because of him not buying the correct players, but because he doesn't seem likely to be here long and the next man might not want those players.}
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The only thing i agree with in the original post is the youngsters getting more of a chance.

I disagree with the rest as for me it is Roy's fault we are in the bottom 3.
His tactic's are questionable and to defensive.
His comments to the media do not warrant him to be an LFC manager.
I just don't trust him at all to spend what we have in January. If we had Pelligrini, Riijkard etc in charge i would trust them more to buy or attract world class players.

For me Roy is a small fish in a big pond. Already i've seen managers Ferguson (the thief) Allardyce (the thief) etc and the media walk all over him.

Have to say, I've been watching Adam Johnson since he joined Man City, and I am extremly impressed with this lad. He is a brilliant player and I think he's the best winger England have. I think he's being wasted at Man City and I've been reading rumours of him wanting out. If this is true, I think we should go all out to get him.

If I had to choose to spend £15m on him or Ashley Young I'd pick Johnson all day long. Way better winger. City probably would want £10m-15m for him but he's only 23, he's been quality at City, quality for England.
{Editor's note - I think City will want more than that for him.}

It's this simple really. . How can any supposedly top team compete if no one from their defence can chip in with their fair share of goals or even assists? People are not getting on Jamie's back, its just that now we have someone in defence doing their fair share for the first time since Hyypia " What A Player by the way "! ! Its more noticable than ever that our best form of defence is attack, and attack starts at the back and works it way forward through clever ball control and quality delivery. . Honestly we have only one player who can pass a ball and at the moment he is injured. . We have only one player who can score goals and he is being accommadated as best as possible. Unfortunately above all how many good wing backs do we have? The correct answer " NONE " Best of Luck Lads tommorow lets keep this train rolling, there will be no stopping us once we get going! HERE WE GO* * * * *

ok setting myself up for a big hit. . . . . .

In all the DREAM teams people post on here with the multi million pound signings they would like us to sign, can you tell me this?? ?
WHY does "carra" keep getting included in these teams?? ?? ?. . .
The lad was past it 3 years ago and yet there is still this hardcore fan base that see him as invincible. . . . he's finished and should make way for youth if he truly has the clubs best interests at heart.
I, ve stood on the kop and cheered some famous names when the team was announced(can remember when the speaker would crackle and george sephton would say" the liverpool team. . .as printed in the programme"). . . .,
but when you see that a players legs have gone it gets embarrasing, you feel for that player. . .carra may have the heart of a lion and if you cut him in half he would have liverpool wrote right through him but its painful watching kids without much talent taking the p* s out of him and also it hurts our performance and hence results. . . .agger and skrtyl? ? i dunno, kelly has all the poise and grace of hansen just needs a run to build confidence then suddenly you have a sound keeper (pepe)that the team believe's in and a rock solid defence they trust. .this promotes confidence throughout the team and hey presto. . . .we play like liverpool can and should play. . even if we only pick up the odd trinket or so at first, the title's must follow. .lets just get us back to playing the liverpool way. . sorry carra, great servant but get the hammer and nails and hang up your boots and sign off with the dignity you deserve

Juventus midfielder is edging closer to a National team recall in the wake of his recent performances, claimed Italy coach Cesare Prandelli in an interview given to the Italian media. Alberto Aquilani has been in supreme form ever since he made his loan switch from Anfield based outfit Liverpool FC. Aqua man moved to Liverpool last year in a deal that was worth a reported 20 million Euros. Injuries blighted his stay there as the playmaker found it difficult dealing with the rigours of highly physical English League. Despite putting in some impressive performances for the team, new coach Roy Hodgson decided to offload the highly rated midfielder.

"Alberto is one of the strongest midfielders in Italy. In fact he was in the national team already, but left because of physical problems. If he has consistency then he will surely be important", Prandelli said.

Prandelli has also praised Juventus for their contribution to the Azzurri. Juventus traditionally focus on developing Italian players, indeed the World Cup winning batch of 2006 had no less than eight players on Bianconeri pay cheque.

"Juventus? They are a club with strategies focussing on Italian players. There are many Juventus players in the national team, but not because they wear the Bianconeri shirt, but because they are good."

Prandelli also had the time to shed some light on the case of Antonio Cassano. Cassano has been the best Azzurri player ever since Prandelli took over the reins of the National team. Il Talentino De Bari was criminally left out of the Azzurri team that featured at the World Cup 2010. Marcelo Lippi never picked the player during his second stint in charge of the Azzurri for reasons outside of football. Italy had a disastrous World Cup campaign and many blame Lippi for the failure. Prandelli believes Cassano needs to change his attitude a bit when playing for the National team.

Ed, I think we should have kept hammill for longer because his goal tonight shows he has talent. What do you think? {ed's note - I used to get a lot of grief on Liverpool forums because I thought we should have kept him. Everyone told me that he ended up at Barnsley because that was his level, when I said but he is young and will be at a bigger club soon. I am glad he is showing what he can do, he was their best player last season and again this season, it is only a matter of time before he is in the Prem. It is frustrating when we are so short of wingers and we let such a good young one go cheap!}

It was all hope though. Roy would probably do this

Free agent end of season Urby Emanuelson good attacking left back and brillant left strike. what you think ed?

bel - yes
unbel - no {ed's note - is he definitely a free agent? He can be a good player at times, with the right management he would be a good signing.}

yup he is, i watched a recent interview of him on youtube. saying that his contract expires at the end of the 2010-2011 season and the interviewer asked if he was renewing it and he said no he wants to move to a bigger club than ajax and a new challenge which is understandable as he's been there since he was 16. he would be class at both lb and lw.

30 Oct 2010 19:52:06

Striker-hulk/ lopes, cb-schawcross, winger/ honda and if we are lucky banera.dont think nesv will alow roy to gamble with c.cole

All the papers and Spurs Sports News are always so negative about Liverpool, however I can't see it, even if we are in the bottom 3. They weren't as negative when only a few years ago Spurs were in this position. At the end of the day, if we can grind a result against Bolton, we could be 8= in the table, and only 5 points off 4th.

Let's face it, Chelsea, Man U and Arsenal are going to run away with it, so really it is a battle for 1st and 4th. If we can hold out until New Year and be around 7th, we can then buy 2 or 3 quality players, and then who knows if the better players stay fit, which they didn't last year.

Also I wouldn't mind a good run in the FA Cup. Lets go to the new Wembley for the first time.

Why isn't anybody giving joe cole a chance, he has shown flashes of wat he can dofor us and its only a matter of time before hes playin at his best. he is only 29 and people are sayng hes finished. its total rubbish, although hes not a winger, but i think wud be ideal in fornt of gerrard and meireles and behind torres.

what do u think ed? {ed's note - I have never been a fan of Cole, he is a show pony in my opinion, all flashy flicks and tricks with no real end product.}

Just watching the ManU game, i've always hated their ground, all the managers sit in car seats behind a brick wall, this is similar to tramps in a rough housing estate, they always sit in their front gardens in car seats behind a brick wall, field of dreams my arse!

30 Oct 2010 17:41:33

Just shows this season u never know whats goin to happen with wolves beating man city , £200m spent and can't beat wolves ha so inconsistent , Anyway that was a great result for us because even tho we have had a poor start we are definatly going to be challenging that 4th spot , if the manks beat spurs today that leaves spurs on 15 points and city are on 17 , if we win tomorrow we will be on 12. So 3 points behind spurs and 5 behind city is not bad at all , if we can string a few more results together after that because i know at december time we have a good run of fixtures , then january time we could be in the top 5 and then if we buy the extra talent in jan ( 2 wingers and a 2 strikers would be good) we can then fire ourselves even further up the table , and get that champions league place! I know we can do it , Stay positive people CMON YOU REDS!

Also does anyone have any info on the manager situation? because i hear guus hiddink has also been tipped recently but rijkard still favourite. i personally think eiva of these two or king kenny would be ideal , A big name manager at a big name club will also attract big name players ( just look at real madrid most players want to play for real madrid and under a great manager in jose mourinho)

If we are going to get a new manager in , we need him in ideally before january to give him time to look at the squad and to look at january transfer targets.

Sean odriscoll hes uselass haaaa {ed's note - and you know this because? Oh yeah that's right one bad result makes a manager useless, that, that means Shankly was useless because he didn't win every game, Paisley was useless too because he also didn't. If you are so clueless as to judge a manager based on one result against a team with a budget far in excess of his then we should just all be glad you will never be making a decision like that.}

Not bad results for us really today. If we could pinch three points tomorrow we'd move a fair few places up the table. Can't wait to see the highlights of the Wolves-City game.

Quick question, is it wrong to secretly hope Utd win today and thus keep that fourth spot more achievable? I feel dirty saying it. {ed's note - surely you love Liverpool more than you hate United? So it would be wrong to not want the best result for us, no matter what.}

All i want to c is liverpool play with some style again. Young hungry players who all show for and want the ball all the time. Players who don't hide and look proud to wear our shirt. Please Roy if u do nothing in january buy some energy and skill, someone to lift our bums off our seats, give us a team to get excited about.

Please Please Please stop mentioning Carlton Cole in the same sentence or paragraph as Liverpool FC. . it is insulting. I hope Roy doesn't even think about signing him, if he did, Nail in one's coffin I would believe. I agree with a lot of people posting about Honda (class player, inventive, skillfull great at free kicks-excellent from a commercial point of view) and LLorente(possibly the missing link and different option to compliment El Nino). One player I would break the bank for would be Michel Bastos at Lyon.OMG what a signing he would be! But probably not a chance!. We do require 2 new decent centre halves, as Skrtel has had 1 good season, Carra as much I love the guy, is tugging shirts non stop, Agger who is our best central defender when fit(which is a problem glassback) why is he not playing?.Glen Johnson just awful in every sense of the word, 18 mil we were mugged!Build the team around
Reina- (best in the world-awesome keeper)
Agger
Kelly
Gerrard
Cole
Meireles
Torres

Keep

Shelvey
Konshesky
Kuyt

Would like

Honda
LLorente
Bastos
Mata
New CB Not aware of anyone young good upcoming

Nando Ranger Shelvey
Kuyt

Finally a post I absolutely agree on! A great young CB could be Simon Kjær of Wolfsburg. 21 years old, made the starting XI at Palermo at the age of 19. Is a regular starter in the Danish national team and he and his family are huge Liverpool fans.

I am sick of 'fans' who talk about lucas and ngog like there pieces of sh*t and are like:"sell lucas and ngog in january lets face it we can't do much worse" we could very well do worse then a 21 yr old striker who has 6 goals in as many starts, who gives his all for the club despite getting unwarrented stick from the "best fans in the world" and despite attemts to pawn him off to lower clubs for buttons. and as for lucas, he is young, consistently improving and gets reguler football in a midfeild composed of gerrard, meireles and j.cole and again has the right attitude. they coul very well be our near future. of course this should be expected from these fans as they are the ones who are like"buy mata, sanchez, honda and Llorente. this team would win the league". however it is important to facter in a number of facts 1)the transfer kitty is about 50mil too light to support this fantasy(2)RH has probably not scouted, looked at or even heared of half of them(3)the people making the posts have never watched them.

Ed why do you not like ashely young because from what I see his crossing is amazing and if we got Lorente and played him as a targetman I think this would bring the best out in young and he would get a bag load of assists. {ed's note - because he goes missing when games are tough, he can't handle the physical side of the game. I don't mind that he is not going to throw himself into tackles, Barnes never did that either, but he can't handle being tackled unlike Barnes.}

To the guy who said this
October 30 at 12.19

"Finally, for all the rumours of Liverpool loosing a generation of supporters, I can safely say this is rubbish. . I'm only 18 and have completely missed out on the glory days, ., . I've never been to Liverpool. The majority of my mates are die hard Liverpool supporters and we live 10 000 km's away from England. . what many fans fail to realise is that Liverpool isn't just a club, it's a culture. . and no other club in England (bar Man United) can claim that., . . But who want's to support those rubbishes?
This club was and always will be destined for greatness, all it requires is patience"

Well in lad, you're as vital now as you've always been. YNWA

WELL SAID (include Celtic in that group though). ALL THE TALK ABOUT 'FALLEN GIANTS' IS JUST CARP(yes we have't won the PL, but we have been successful winning Cups under both Houllier and Benitez. Plus we were very unlucky under Roy Evans not to have won the PL atleast once, 96/ 97?). IT'S ONLY A COUPLE OF SEASONS SINCE WE WERE THE TOP SEEDED TEAM IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.

Just been catching up on the past few days gossip and interviews as I've been busy.
Has anyone picked up on yet another negative comment by Woy. He said

"I'm not believing naively we are going to win seven out of nine and fly up to the top of the table but I do want us to move from of the relegation zone."

What?! ! Shankley will be turning in his grave. Out of the relegation zone is not good enough. What's wrong with believing we can win 9 out of 9 games. He's accepting we're gonna lose at least 2. We have a decent enough squad to beat anyone on our day. He's the manager, it's up to him to make sure every day is our day, and any decent manager will win far more than they lose.
He astounds me with the things he says. He's accepting, even celebrating, mediocrity. This will rub off on the players, they'll end up coming off the pitch pleased with a draw with Wolves or Stoke cause Roy will be patting them on the back for not losing when he should be kicking their a* *s for not winning. Shanks, Clough, Fergie, Wenger, Mourinho would have their team sweating blood til the final whistle to get a winner, Roy will have us sitting out the last 5 minutes for a draw. That's the difference between a winner and a never will be.
He's just showing time and time again he hasn't got the right mentality for this club. I've even found myself hoping for mid table cause of the start we've had, I had to get the missis to give me a slap!
Is anyone with me on this. Your thoughts ed! {ed's note - I have given up on reading any comments he has to make, every time I do it makes me cringe. He just doesn't seem to understand the nature of the job he has taken on and it is very disappointing to see him talking about a point being a good result every single week.}

I think the most important thing in the transfer window is that we buy quality. The problem we have is too many average players. I worry seeing us being linked with players like C Cole and SWP. These are Average players! Please don't waste our money on players like these, spend it on quality, if we can't buy in January save it for the summer. The wide areas must be a priority and a striker. I'd like to see Mata and Turan come in personally, we need more creativity and service for Torres

I'm laughing as well. I don't know what's funnier, the fact that you think a man who is the coach of a Turkish national side is above taking a position at one of football's biggest names or the fact that you actually spell out ha ha ha and spend so much time on this site. I'd wager we have a Spud amongst us again lads.

What are the odds at drawing at Bolton today

I reckon it won't be a walk in the park like blackburn was. blackburn where all over the place in centre of def and densive midfield was out of sorts. Although blackburn where slow and lacked anything up front that could hold up the ball. Bolton should be a lot better team.

Plus bolton have a few players that like to play footbal as well as strengh in kevin davis. So i figure best result here will be the draw away from home.

This will put Roy's job back at risk, but it seems like a millions miles away from last team. The win has changed the mood. But it won't be enough. Verdict is draw.

The defeat to chelsea. Chelsea will beat liverpool by 4 goals. Really make the team look bad as they are. It will be time for Roy Hodgson to leave the club and new manager to replace him.

This then throws the question of transfers back up in the air. As people will be running for the doors

Hi Ed, typical snn Super Sunday Newcatle v Sunderlad and Bolton v "Struggleing" Liverpool, just goes to show how ssn hates us considering the formentioned teams could not fill 2 pages of our history book's between them.W
We'll be back very soon.

Does anyone else here think that Glen Johnson is a poor defender? I rarely miss a Liverpool match and I have never seen him put in a good defensive shift in a game (to my memory). He usually gets caught out easily and opposition players always seem to get in behind him at the back. He offers nothing ariel wise either.

I think Johnson is fantastic at going forward and its a joy to see him in the final third but in defence he looks shakey. I really do think its a problem that we need to deal with. Arbeloa was solid at the back and was like a rock, he rarely put a foot wrong. Infact, the left-back position is also a problem. Insua was an awful defender, Konchesky isn't good enough for this level in my opinion.

I hear rumours that Johnson wants to leave Liverpool in January, and personally I wouldn't be too bothered if he did leave. We'd get atleast £12m (if not more) for him and I'd much prefer we had a good solid right-back there.

I think people ignore his defensive short-comings due to his great offensive ability, but I'd much rather have a solid full-back who does his defensive duties well. If we want to see "Johnson type" attacking on the right hand side, then sign a good winger.

Hmmm close escape. . . .

Kenny Huang, the Chinese businessman who claimed to be fronting a takeover of Liverpool in August, was dramatically served legal papers before attending a conference at a West London hotel on Friday.
Prior to talking about the future of sport in China alongside Peter Kenyon at the Global Sport Summit, Huang was confronted by private detectives who served him a writ accusing him of fraud and deceit, an action which could end up costing him as much as $10 million. - The Telegraph

Kenny Huang, former suitor of Liverpool Football Club, served with writ

Prior to talking about the future of sport in China alongside Peter Kenyon at the Global Sport Summit, Huang was confronted by private detectives who served him a writ accusing him of fraud and deceit, an action which could end up costing him as much as $10 million.

The writ was served on behalf of Deidre Halley-Wright, a Florida-based former business partner of Huang. Huang is one of nine co-defendants in an action relating to a car import business. Huang has 20 days to respond to the summons, and could face a trial against him in his absence.

Haung made his money importing BMW's to china and selling them on a huge mark-up.

Kenny Huang wants a premier league club and is now looking at . Everton and Newcastle are leading the way with Everton firm favourites. You heard it hear first.
Whatever the club it will be interesting to see how he compares to Henry.
Kenny Huang is hoping to complete club purchase before January 1st

{Editor's Note: There will be nothing to compare.}
