Any interest in Cabaye? Arsenal and United have shown interest. Perhaps we should consider? I think he could be a good addition {Ed002's Note - None.}

Not LFC related but Newcastle's inability to hold a line of four at the back is absolutely laughable. Basic errors being made vs Everton in that first 45 minutes, I genuinely can't remember seeing a worse half of football by one team in all my time watching Premier League football!

Let's hope they play like that on October 19th!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Watch the game against us last year!

Agree0 Disagree0

Any team that plays like that deserves to get their a**s kicked. Everton didn`t really need help to beat NUFC tonight.

Have to say I'm getting pretty excited for the season ahead! 13 points from 6 games, second in the league! Okay it's early days, and we haven't been playing great, but that's the reason I'm so pleased! Grinding out results is a trait that you need to win things. Forget about winning the league, top 4 is what our objective is. Take it one game at a time, and don't get too carried away. It has been a very impressive start but it all counts for nothing if we don't get top 4. What we have is a squad capable of challenging for honours, with a few more quality additions we will be among the top teams in Europe once again. We have a squad full of potential and a squad that will only get better. Onwards and upwards is what I say! Cheers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Last year, we were outplaying teams for fun and at this time last season, we had only 3 points to show for all the hard work and it took 11 games for us to ge just 13 points. I`m tired of us outplaying teams and getting screwed at the end. At this stage of the season, get the as much points as you can and think of the rest later. And the self-righteous fans saying we`re playing ok or porly were prob the same ones slating us for smashing teams and getting nothing in the end last year. Take the points and ask questions later.

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe that last season it took 14 games to get 16 points? If we beat Palace on Saturday it will be 16 points from 7 games, half the time it took last season. Have faith Kopites, stats don't tell the whole story but they don't lie, we are improving and heading in the right direction.

Last season By this time, we had played all the top teams, This time we are yet to face the real test.

Agree0 Disagree0

Harry,
Some of your comments are really funny and controversial but this time I have to say after the previous posters you sound like a Party Pooper.
Lets take some positives from the start we have made and the confidence it will give the team for the future.

Liking the ballotelli links
He would be an inspired signing
He loved the prem as he felt respected by the crowds unlike in Italy.
Wait til he feels our respect ;)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bull wouldn't want him and his troubled ways

Agree0 Disagree0

He is an overrated penalty taker.

Agree0 Disagree0

I could never understand the media fascination in that kid.

In fact, he would be my last choice to have at the club as he's a big whinging sulking tart.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's got all the talent to be the best striker in the world. Unfortunately his head is not right.

Agree0 Disagree0

We are a big club and not a rehab center for highly-disturbed lunatics. We have enough problems w/ Suarez already anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

You mean an attack of Suarez and Balotelli. They would eat the Ref!

Agree0 Disagree0

He seems to be crazy. I meant that in the literal, clinical sense.

I would be astonished if he manages to sustain a career in professional sports for much longer.

He is the LAST thing LFC needs.

still a lot of work to do but can't people just be happy with the results? 2nd place with palace coming up so every chance of being top after the second international break.

I think moses deserves a bit of credit, thought he played pretty well against sunderland. Shows great desire, got pace, power and gave sturridge an extra option when crossing numerous times.

Sakho is looking like he is adapting extremely well already. He actually had the best accuracy of every Liverpool player! A few nervous moments with him but I think he will do absolutely fine.

Only real question marks are still over are fullbacks? Enrique and johnson don't concentrate enough for me, far to many mistakes. But hey, let's me happy :)

Hey eds just a quick question do you think the BR rates Suso? I hope they do i've watched him play for Almeria so far and he's been outstanding apart from the Barcelona game where his team in general didn't play too well anyway I'm a huge fan of this lad I hope he comes back and gets a place in the squad. Anyone else think he could become quite a player for us? {Ed001's Note - yes he does rate him, that is why he sent him out on loan for competitive football.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Sep 2013 19:32:41
i think the reason he sent him out is that he knew he would get in the team nearly every game at almeria rather than play less than 15 here at LFC. I see him having a big impact in the squad next season

Think toure is a brilliant bit of business . He gives everything every game and he will help the young lads.
Once we sort out are injuries I'm sure we can really push for that top four finish.

ED 02, I wanna ask you something.
Should Torres recieves a pretty good criticsm or punishment for the Scratch at Jan Vertonghen, Like suarez?
COz, If it was suarez, It would have been a straight card and 5 match Ban.

harry scousser {Ed002's Note - If the referee had seen him do it, then it would be a red card and a three game ban. Torres got accused of "acting like a girl" or similar whilst at Atletico when "pinching" the ear lobes of players - one a team mate. There was a similar incident with a Liverpool player about four years ago. It is nothing whatsoever to do with Suarez of course.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Special mention to Sakho. Great reading of the game. Already can see a good understanding between him, Toure and Mignolet because they all speak French, and when Cissokho returns, we'll see an even more dynamic defence

Agree0 Disagree0

How old is toure I wrecking based on preference 28 haha no I no he is 32 he just doesn't play like one

Agree0 Disagree0

He looked like a teenager at times against Sunderland the way he was pegging about! He'll be playing into his late 30s easily. I live in Manchester and every City fan I speak to is gutted they sold him (as well as moaning about the Barry loan as well). Happy times!

Agree0 Disagree0

His enthusiasm and love for the game is the reason he plays younger than he actually is. His work ethic, drive and passion is a joy to watch. Take a bow, sir.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said. This guy is a beast and at 32 he seems to be fitter than the other younger lads. Has anybody seen his reaction after the third goal, he was enjoying like a kid. He seems to be a red fan since birth.

Edd001, can I ask what's happening with martin kelly, he's fit and available. I think the gaffer doesn't rate him that highly, I hope i'm wrong. The lad is a terrific player, ecxellent defender and.good.going forward. He would be my firstchoice RB {Ed001's Note - he is being eased back in, it takes a long time to get back to form and fitness after the length of time he has been out. Just be patient, it will only be the second half of the season he is likely to have a chance of playing regularly.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If you watch the game against Utd when he came on as a sub you could tell his was no where near the pace of the game. He still has a lot of work to do. Maybe a loan? I don't know but i'm hoping he can stay injury free. Great player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed001,
Do you think Kelly can hack it as a wing back, if that's the way BR is going to continue?
Not sure myself, tbh. {Ed001's Note - I don't see that being the position that suits him best, he would be better suited to being part of the back 3.}

Agree0 Disagree0

His future is at CB, but with Agger, Sakho, Toure, Wisdom and seemingly Ilori ahead of him in the pecking order it could end up being elsewhere. Hope not, but he needs a couple of years injury-free to have a chance of making it happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

I like Kelly a great deal, but people like he's a kid when in reality he's only 2 months younger than Sakho, 6 months younger than Sturridge, 1 month younger than Allen, and older than both Henderson and Coutinho. I guess my point is that if he's going to knock on and push for a first team slot he needs to do it very, very soon.

Last year it took us until 11th November (our 11th Game) to get 12 Points! We are currently sat 2nd the league on 13 points after 6 games. How many times did United win the league by winning games that they played poorly in!

As long as we keep winning games, I really don't mind how we do it!

What Brendan has done is built a team of players that up until the final whistle don't give up! they might not have had the attacking flow in latter parts of some games but they have fought for their results!

Most of my mates are United fans so I can tell you that I personally am loving the season at the moment!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We still haven't played Top 6 teams. Only UTD.
city, arsenal, chelsea, spurs would decide where exactly we are.

Agree0 Disagree0

We may have only played united. But none of those teams will decide where we are. We will decide where we are mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

If I were you, I would choose my mates more carefully!

Agree0 Disagree0

That`s what progress looks like and that`s all I are about. 10 points more than last season already at this stage. AWESOME!

Agree0 Disagree0

"But none of those teams will decide where we are. We will decide where we are mate."

Couldn't agree more.

The likes of Cardiff and Villa can beat City, and we should worry about them?

All the "top" teams this season are there for the taking.

Seems everyone's got it in for Hendo

My objective take on it is that his service to the forwards was very poor for a player of his ability and promise. However, he was playing in a position that is not natural to him and now Lucas is out we should be able to put him back into that role of DM and put Moses out wide which would leave room for someone more creative in the central attacking mid role I say give Aspas a chance there. When he plays in centre mid we shall be able to gauge how good or poor he actually is.

Cant wait for Saturday and the Eagles

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Sep 2013 14:01:59
Think Lucas getting suspended shows we need cover for that area, I know Allen is coming back but still would want a more defensively minded midfielder for when we miss Lucas. Last season he got injured and our defence suffered massively, plus with 5 yellows this early means he will probably get more suspensions (doesn't it go up to 2 games with 10 yellows?). But positives is that we have palace at home so should make it through, just wonder if he will move Henderson next to gerrard and push Kelly at RWB or move toure into DM and put agger into defense?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If we're playing 3 centre backs why do we need a DM in the middle as well? Surely we can play 2 'regular' midfielders and that should provide enough strength? Gerrard and Henderson should be fine in there together, and with 3 at the back they can hopefully push a little further up the pitch and link with the front 3 a little better.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't need an anchor man with 3 at the back. Allen/Hendo and Gerrard would work fine with one as a deep-lying playmaker and the other free to go forward more. We are on the look-out for a more defensive-minded CM as Coady isn't yet ready to step up, but a top class winger is priority for January. Wouldn't be surprised if we waited til next summer for a DM though as we will have more targets to choose from and our squad is big enough for this relatively small season (only 32-38 games remaining).

Agree0 Disagree0

Watching all the games so far this season it became clear very quickly that Lucas would be suspended very soon by picking up a booking in almost all the games he has played- luckily he will only miss the Palace match but I really think he needs to be more careful as we will need him for the gam against the better teams

Agree0 Disagree0

A DM is important when you put 3 at the back. The difference is the space left on the wings by the more advanced full backs. A DM allows the back three to go out wide without leaving space though the centre. Seems we are still getting used to it as well, Sunderland got a lot of joy by hitting long passes into the corners. Lucas is a worrying omission for Saturday. Really could do with some cover there. Hendo our new utility man will surely be given the honour.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Sep 2013 13:04:36
How far is Kelly away from a starting place now? He played the reserve match a couple of weeks ago and with Johnson out for the rest of the month would be great to have him available again. {Ed002's Note - As far as I know he is available.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Could start at RWB against Palace with Hendo playing in the centre with Gerrard.

Jordan Henderson is getting a ridiculous amount of stick on here! He is a central midfielder, currently not good enough to dislodge Lucas or Gerrard from their positions, but who works too hard to be dropped (very much like Kuyt never being good enough to dislodge Torres and then Suarez). Therefore, he is shifted around to wherever he is needed, and due to his incredible versatility, he performs anywhere asked. He has played left wing, right wing, attacking midfield, defensive midfield, right back, right wing back etc. The man is a true professional. He never moans, he just does his best every game. Against Sunderland, we needed a hard working wing back to get up and down the pitch all game. He was never going to stand out there. But he performed the job selflessly for the team. How many times do you hear people talking about Barcelona and saying how Dani Alves is amazing? Hardly ever, and yet for years he has been in their top 3 players every season. You can't even begin to understand how good Alves is unless you understand the style Barcelona play. Henderson performed a similar job for us to the best of his ability, and we won the game. It will be nice to have Johnson back, yes, but Hendo has performed admirably in his absence. Can I also take this opportunity for a quick "I told you so"? I was ripped to shreds on the teams page a few weeks back for suggesting Sterling at right wing back. Now we have people calling for Hendo, Sterling, Moses and even Ibe to play there! You have to understand that the right wing back position mainly requires pace, energy and attacking ability coupled with the ability to get stuck in and close opposition wingers out of the game. Its got Glen Johnson written all over it. Aly Cissokho will be far superior to Enrique in the left sided position too. When we get those two back, you'll really see the counter attacking system working to it's full effect. that's seems to be Rodgers new plan. Unleash hell for half an hour to take a decent lead, drop deeper and try to keep the ball, hit them on the break when they start to get frustrated/desperate. Works well in principle, let's just hope he can tanslate the theory of it too the pitch. I never feel comfortable defending a one goal lead.

YNWAdam

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Spot on Adam, he's only just 23 and played 100 games for us allready. When we get the full backs fit he will go more central and play in a more natural position for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hendo offers no end product,
and no pre-end product. He's dead
final third of the pitch. He can run and run and run but does nothing with the ball did any of his crosses go anywhere near anyone yesterday? If he was a bit switched on he could take the position of Coutinho centrally behing the attackers, but Branden knows well the attackers would never receive the ball. Crosses awful, cutting through balls non existant, running fantastic - but 20mil down the toilet.
Definition of Hendo - so far!

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on Adam, the lads versatile, it's not his fault he's played all over the pitch, what he gives is 100% always looks for the ball and never hides, even though he wasn't at his best yesterday, RedAce, I bet you one of the ones that slagged Lucas off for also.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Sep 2013 15:16:56
Cheers guys. Red Ace, I think Henderson has been a victim of his own versatility. I have only seen him start in his preferred position once in the Premier League. It was alongside Shelvey against Chelsea. We won 4-1 and Hendo even grabbed himself a goal. He is a central midfielder by trade and I hope he gets the nod there against Palace and proves all his critics wrong. £20m down the toilet? Come on mate, he was the England U21's captain for 3 years. Just watch some of the LFC tv videos, like the tennis ball kick ups. His technique is second to none in our squad. He just needs to be put in the right position so he can showcase that.

YNWAdam

Agree0 Disagree0

To me anyone who bashes Hendo needs to look at the 3rd goal. The man was running his ass of the whole game and in the 85th min. or so on that third goal the best thing to me was watching him sprint to get in the box and pull defenders of Suarez

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed entirely, YNWAdam. For me, people seem to not think you're good unless you either do a bunch of flair (but generally pointless) stepovers and the like, score goals, or get assists. By that standard, pretty much everyone we have is dross bar Sturridge, yet even he also gets a bunch of stick for some bizarre reason I don't understand either.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed Adam
He could possibly even relieve Gerrard of the cm duties with his younger engine and let Gerrard float further forward on the right. Gerrard offers more attackin threat. Remember everyone his best season for rafa was on the right side of midfield. We all moaned but the results told their own story

Agree0 Disagree0

I like Henderson, but he frustrated me so much yesterday. I can't remember one cross that got past the first man.

Playing out of position or not, there is no excuse for a professional footballer not being able to cross a ball.

I've seen Henderson do some quality things but he needs to do them more consistently and he needs to have a bit more belief in his own ability.

Agree0 Disagree0

Right on RedAce

Agree0 Disagree0

Hendo can be an absolutely vital player for us.

He can be the player who runs for 90 minutes, tackles and breaks up their play.

He is clearly not the player to make the final pass.

That is why we buy players like Coutinho.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Sep 2013 12:26:19
another 3 points in the bag, but we gave sunderland a chance and we should kill games off.
sakho is the player I wanted us to sign he is just like the vidic/chielini, he is not the best ball playing defender but his type of defending is what we have missed.
sakho has power pace and is unbelievable in the air and has 1 mission when he enters the pitch my man won't score.
our squad is not in balance we we should have bought a right winger and another midfielder.
alberto is clearly not ready and the quality gap from suarez/sturridge to aspas is too big.
knowing that sterling and ibe are still young we should have spend our budget on 2 starters.
ibe is the real deal he will be a starter before sterling.
we should have a look at porto/atletico how they scout there players because the last 4/5 years they really bought well and sold them because they needed the money.
we would not have to sell, we have more money than these clubs.
the last 3 windows we bought 15 players and 3 have made their mark sturidge/coutinho/sakho.
with all the money we wasted we could have had a great squad.
assaidi/borini/sahin you caould have bought costa.
how much depht did we really need this season with no el football?
we have our defence sorted for the coming years, we need 2 midfielders because gerrard needs a rest once in a while at his age.
we need another worldclass striker and we need a worldclass right winger.
henderson should be in midfield or on the bench, on the wing he seems lost.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sahko had the highest % passing accuracy by any Liverpool player against Sunderland.

Digest this:

Six games in, second in the league, not playing near half as good as we did at the latter part of last season (yet still winning games), a new-look back four (well, close enough and still finding their feet), a world class striker who isn't yet match fit (yet still scores two goals) and one of the most youthful passionate hard-working sides in the country.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention our manager who deserves credit for taking on such a large job who is not afraid to experiment with his squad and has a proven eye for a bargain.

Forgive me for being optimistic, as I am a realist, but any doubters out there still need to bow their head in shame as this is the start of a squad for the future bright things

Imagine things when we start playing our real football?

Nice.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Plus we have young Coutinho to come back. Can't wait for a few games with him, Suarez and Sturridge up front

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree, we have had to grind out a few times this season but we are only going to get better as the season goes on and the confidence gets higher. If we can pick up 15 points in the next 6 games I think we will be well placed to keep challenging for top spot. Don't see why we should just aim for top4. The way the league is going so far it is all up for grabs and I would like to think we have enough in our squad to keep pushing at the top.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sign pastore in january and ill be buzzing {Ed002's Note - Would you take Pastore (who has been playing very poorly) as a replacement for Coutinho?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol, is that the same world class striker who would "rather walk alone" than stay at Liverpool.the same fella and his agent will be trying to orchestrate a move every transfer window from now till his contract ends, nice some people speak so glowingly about him, i'm sure he will be touched "not"

Agree0 Disagree0

For me it has always been 'results first, performance second' so I'm very pleased with August and September. I am gutted we're out of the league cup but I am prepared to forget that if our league form continues.
I'd still like us to be more clinical up front. It's been a problem since Kenny to be honest. We waste so many chances it's unreal. Also I'd like us to sort out defending set pieces, but with a new keeper and several new or injured defenders I suppose they'll need a bit of time.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed are you implying that Coutinho may depart Liverpool in January? {Ed002's Note - The speculated interest from Atletico Madrid does exist.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I think your getting ahead of yourself a little saying we can compete for top spot. Top 4 is still the ambition and with 6 clubs maybe 7 if you include Everton competing for the 4 spots. Its going to be close.

But at least were not chasing already, but we have had a relatively easy start to the season unlike last year which really knocked us back.

The acid test will be when we meet Chelsea, City, Spurs, Arsenal and Everton. Man u again. There is 33 more points to be played for and IMO this is where the positions will be sorted.

3 from 3 so far, if we can take 20 points from those games then top 4 should be as good as certain providing we don't drop to many silly points.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002, would Coutinho be replacing Koke or Raul Garcia? {Ed002's Note - They are not looking to replace either.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hmm Atletico may want Coutinho but can you really see us entertaining any offers? Very much doubt it. Can't see him pushing for a move in Jan either

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Ed. In any case I doubt we would let Coutinho go in January, his absence since injury has already hurt us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool rejected suarez bid in have faith coutinho will be kept to no way only for crazy crazy money

Agree0 Disagree0

No, I think we will compete for a top four place as I stated last night. As for the helmet criticising my use of the phrase 'world-class' in reference to Suarez, I suggest you take take note lid.

Suarez was bang out of order. End of. Though the manager will continue to pick him as we will continue to cheer when he scores. I defended that lad and he let us all down, but we're all a little fickle when the push comes to shove, and hopefully a free-scoring Suarez will get us back into the champions league spot where we belong.

After that, he can do whatever he wants as far as I care.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't see him moving we are in a similar position to were we are now and he is playing well. He has stated he wants to get into the Brazil squad and could be a risk transferring to a new club when he is settled and playing well, plus wouldn't see us making it easy for him to leave

Agree0 Disagree0

Davey bootle. I seem to remenber you saying if the player doesn't want to play for the red shirt of Liverpool, then get him out, we don't want him, he's a so and so, blah blah blah, now you praise LS and are happy to have him playing for Liverpool.

Agree0 Disagree0

The word, it's a little creepy you searching back over my previous posts, and how dare you question my integrity.

I'm sure it was you who robbed me Grans nickers off the washing line last week.

Morning everyone.

Thought we played alright yesterday apart from closing down around our box. Ki had far too much room to turn and shoot which led to their goal.

Henderson is wasted on the right. With Lucas suspended, I believe he should be moved into the DM position. He may not have Lucas's positional clout but with his work rate and energy to close people down I think he'd do well.

That opens up the RWB positional. With no disrespect to Palace, I believe we should be more attack minded. Sterling seems to be getting the nod from the manager but he hasn't shown anything. I'd like to see Jordan Ibe given a start to see what he can offer. More muscular than Sterling, that should suit the defensive part of the RWB and we saw in pre-season what he can offer going forward.

A decent start to the campaign by LFC. Well done.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree about Ki being given too much space to shoot. He had a shot from distance on 4 or 5 occasions and was bound to get one on target, even then it was a poor attempt and it deflected and bounced slight of McSkrtel. Mignolet probably should have caught it but I will give him the benefit of the doubt.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Sep 2013 08:42:55
Why people are mocking Henderson still is beyond me. The lad has been playing well all season working his socks off for the team and after one bad game (in which he has played out of position) he gets the abuse again. When switched to a central position he will be one of our standout players in years to come.

Seeing Henderson live, I have to say, he has got to be a supreme athlete! He was running all game and constantly putting pressure on the opposition players. With Lucas suspended for the next game, he should be given the chance in the middle, though I think BR might look at Toure in the middle too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because as much work as he does he finds himself in a good position and having no end product I think he should fill in for lucas while he is suspended I think a deeper role would suit him a lot more any thoughts

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not like he even had a bad game. First team starter every game for me

Agree0 Disagree0

Valent mate, we are not mocking Henderson but its a fact that while playing on the right against Southampton and Sunderland he was not good enough. I cannot denied that he is working his socks off in every game he is playing but it seems that he cannot beat the opposition one to one and thus lost many balls and also for a right winger his crosses are not that good.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with Cozinoz. Henderson will give guaranteed 100% and is future LFC captain.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Henderson is future captain well I fear for the future

Agree0 Disagree0

Get off the guys back - he was filling in for Johnson and was the best bet out of the players available - he did ok.
he has played well all season - if he isn't pinging 60 yard balls to feet or smashing it into the top corner then 'fans' start to jump on his back. Crazy

Simply do not understand people getting on Lucas' back. Someone said about being more positive next week without him, that's nonsense.
Lucas provides such a stable sense of confidence that the other players feel free to push up and roam, knowing that should an attack breakdown Lucas will slow them down atleast until the cavelry are back in a decent position. A lot of the time he makes a tackle while we still have players up, meaning we attack with another wave.
Lucas is not the lynchpin he's the brick wall infront of our defense. He actually tends to sit a little higher than Gerrard, take the ball from their central attacker and then drop the ball to Gerrard to conduct a counter.
Lucas is currently, in my opinion, our most important CM. He protects the back 4, without him one of the CBs would have to step up and out of position leaving gaps and and unorganised back line for the opposition to pass through. No other plauer can play that role as effectively. He will always pick up the most yellows because he knows that sometimes he will have to take one for the team and other times he just gets through that many attempted tackles, blocks and interceptions that he is going to get a couple wrong and merit a card. You jever know if the tactic was to get a yellow against Sunderland so that he misses the Palace game, which is much easier in prospect than any other game coming up, a great tactic if that wae the case.
We will be less assured going forward next week without Lucas and I thought his injury last season would have proven his worth to the team.
As an undernote I also think Sakho is settling into a sensational CB. What will we do when Agger is back? Toure, Skrtel and Sakho have all been superb so far.

"What will we do when Agger is back?"

Simple. Put him on the bench until he deserves to be back in the team.

Skrtl had to fight to earn back his place. Some rules apply to everyone.

Obviously Agger will start from the bench to begin with. But a good headache will be when Agger is back to form and we have Sakho, Skrtel and Toure aswell, who are currently playing well.
Im a little gutted about the League Cup in terms of seeing more of Ilori, Alberto and those pushing but they will get their chance and I think its a bit of a positive so far that the big teams are still in and we are not. The rest of our top four competitors still have Europe and League Cup fixtures midweek, we have only the league.

Brilliant win yesterday but need to keep on and be more consistent. However, I just can't understand the replacement of Moses with Sterling as Moses was clearly one of the most influencial player on the pitch. I just can't understand BR judgement of the game because Henderson was really awful on the right and he is the one who should have been replaced instead of Moses.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Brilliant in what sense Blood Red? Our performance was ordinary at best and defensively we are all over the place. It was a completely lacklustre performance. Our midfield is a major problem offensively and defensively.

Agree0 Disagree0

Blood, it may have looked as though on the TV that Henderson was awful on the right but I was at the end at it was totally differant. Henderson put a lot of pressure down the right and caused their defence a lot of problems. He played well and deserved his game time. Moses should not have been replaced and to me Sterling looked out of his depth. He is to lightweight at the minute and even only on 10 minutes in he looked tired to me and was walking about when I expected him to be up and down the line.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moses was OK, but dribbled too much IMO when it would have been easier and better to pick out a pass. Also, Moses doesn't seem particularly effective defensively. He drops deep to collect balls, usually from the opposition corners and runs with it and that, he did well.

Having watched a game after a long time, I have to say, I was stunned by the pace of Sterling, even though tactically I think he needs to improve a lot. Most of the time, when we lost the ball, he dropped deeper than Toure!

Agree0 Disagree0

Baz mate I am not saying that Henderson is not a good player, his best position is however in the middle. Yesterday he was not good on the right, he lost too many balls and his crosses was not that good.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree Blood Red Hendo was awful.

i don't see it why people here say we played bad against sunderland.
and people over henderson's back.
just look at his commitment, ready to play anywhere RB RWB CM AM DM . sheer commitment from him. he also was immense defensively. and he allowed both sturridge and suarez acres of space up the field. both suarez and sturridge are players who love to run at defenders and show some piece of skill. they are not static attackers that want a wingback or winger to cross for them. so they can manage it without requiring a lot of help from other players. necessarily hendo defending can always allow both S and S stay up and be ready for a counter

lucas, its a shame he got a yellow for that, misses next match,
gerrard many people say hasn't got it anymore, well that ball to sturrigde for the second and corner for the first . I don't need to say more. everything we score and make goes through or comes from gerrard. he has been not at his very best, but still is the player we need everpresent on the pitch.
sterling, well the lad has to sort out his personal life. which is seriouly damaging him as a footballer. he needs to be me more organised and responsible in his personal life.

overall play is genuine, hit teams on counter and defend with authority. we may have to work more on the defensive game if that's our plan for this season.

In all last season we played a visually great football and didn't win much, we conceded a lot, we were the better team and still lost games.

this season we are playing football (not great visually or pleasing to eye style, just plain dry football like a sport with everbody putting in effort to win and not to please viewers and more or less that's how you win in BPL), we still play better and are winning games

Maybe us Liverpool fans should hold our hands up and accept that Sydney may be right when he predicted a 30 point difference between us and Manutd. I mean its six points already!

Ed's, who do you believe Rodgers will deploy in the cdm position as Lucas will be suspended for the next game? Do you think he will change the formation to a back 4 in order to have more defensive cover in his absence? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea. Sorry.}

Hey Eds, just wondering how many more yellow cards until Lucas gets a suspension?. seems he has been getting one every game {Ed002's Note - Reading other posts, he has one.}

A dream start to the season and we can live the dream which is becoming reality hard work is still required but the boys are doing very well. A question for the eds regarding Moses is his loan for all season or until January?
Liverpool are where they should be top four. Well done BR.
