Pilkington
Allen
Hoilett
McClean
Defoe

Young, British, Cheap, Realistic

Yeah Hoilett is british. Because Canada is a country in the UK

Pilington and McClean are IRISH!

Defoe is 30 numpty

Defoe is not terribly young either... the only players from that list that are anywhere near good enough are Allen and Hoilett (and Hoilett only on a free)- would be surprised to see us sticking to British this summer tbh

DP

Yea and defoe aint young or cheap

Ed's do you know of any interest of Falcao? And if so do we have any chance of getting him. {Ed003's Note - No }

I predict we'll get Falco, Hazard and Villa. They might be getting on a bit but they served Spurs well.

Hi kidmillions - the word is 'have' not 'of been'. As your grammar is so great here is one for you: yyuryyubicuryy4me - glasgow kiss, ex-Scottish Centre-Half, ex-England wicketkeeper.
Dutchmal

Dutchmal: Have you been drinking or are you having some sort an attempt at humour?
kidmillions

Kid millions - too wise you are, too wise you be, I see you are too wise for me! glasgow kiss = butt, ex-Scottish Centre-Half = Ure, ex-England wicketkeeper = Knott. (but you're not!). That is humour but sadly for you it is also the truth.
Dutchmal

Has kidmillions been banned Ed? {Ed002's Note - He is resting for a day or two.}

I just want to say an opinion as a first time poster, im a lfc fan living in the midlands, only ever been too 4 games, but have watched all my life so go easy on me!

Firstly, on the new signings:
Dalglish speaks of how he wants to play pass and move, Carroll cant. Have you all noticed how he drops, take two touches and lays the ball back, hes obviously been working on it, but still its not his style. He is so unstable, i know collymore slated KK when he said that carroll didnt dive but fell over, but i actually agree! he looks like hes on ice skates.

Downing, i like him? at times he can be exciting and makes us sit forward when on one of his runs, thing is he doesnt do it consistantly, and hasnt contributed to assists or goals...also he bottles headers and tackles, something that annoys me.

Hendo, jury is still out, look how much we loved Raul M when he started playing cm, Woy kept him out on the right and every week i was like what the hell? Just ease up on him i ask.

Adam, Useless, utter useless, hes a better attacking player, but sits and holds far to much, too slow when passing, always trying hollywood balls, and gives away too many free kicks!

Enrique, credit where its due to kenny, what a buy! first proper left back since the great john arne. Yes hes been naf lately, but he must be so tired, he plays week in week out as we have had no other option.

My summary on kenny, i dont want him to go. Hes a good manager, and always honest. however i would just like to walk up and slap a bit of sense into him, regarding the stop start of carrolls playing time, the hendo on the wing, the playing carra over coates, but big of all, how with only 5 minutes against wigan, Raheem sterling excited me. He is something that is different class, a real gem. I was so happy when kenny played him, but then he let us all down when raheem wasnt including at newcastle, instead sterling went and ran rings round villa reserves.

Just wake up kenny, please.

everyones thoughts are welcome, ive tried to be open minded but some will obviously slate me!

Benny boy

I argee with everything you say , think most of the fans do , heres hoping for a better leauge campain next season ...............lfc

I think everyone would like to get in on that slapping action mate. but yh your right. although in the summer i would like to see a first team; winger, strike partner for suarez [mario suarez], and Javi Martinez and an AM [kagawa, gaston.r or honda]

03 Apr 2012 22:42:52
I come in peace! No mention of messi tonight then? not his greatest...mind you I wouldn't mind seeing him in a spurs shirt like I did maradonna....pretty sure none of us will see him in premier league colours! but we can all dream?

Oh, I think we might yet see the wonderful Messi in the Premier League.
I can see Maxi Rodriguez having a word in his compatriot's shell like and get him to join the Carling Cup winners. I'm not saying he'll oust Carroll but he'll give us an option from the bench.
Rigsby.

Hi eds is there interest in Glen Johnson from real madrid?

Also whats the latest on the stadium?

Last question is one of Liverpools priority in the summer pace out wide?

Thanks

Lads,,,
Just watched Barca beat Milan their and I think I have the solution to all our Liverpool problems,,,
Why don't we just ask Pep Guardiola to swap Lionel Messi for Andy Carroll ??
Easy

Did you not watch the game? we need
Alves

Raffa had him on a plate but management spoiled it

What harm could it do let Sterling,Adam Morgan, Suso have a go, after all, 30 odd games l8r, Carroll, Downing, Henderson have done f*** all. we are not gona get CL or relegated, bleed them in over the last league matches 15 - 30 mins second half, look how well Sterling did in 16 mins!
JayB

He didnt do a thing in those 16 minutes !

Yes he did, his pace made their left back and left sided midfielder think twice about going foward and he took on a couple of players, ...so what game were you watching?

Also he drove towards the box drawing a free kick in a dangerous area. i dont think that counts as nothing

The harm could be their long term LIVERPOOL futures playing them too much in the physical EPL too soon!

Keith

All Sterling did for 16 minutes is get two girls pregnant!!.
Ha, ha.
Condomless joke!.

What!!??
i don't think 15-30m for three games will have any harmful side effects on their anatomy. unless they get a warm welcome to the EPL by a De Jong type tackle.

Watching Mascherani today and Alonso this weekend I cannot but wonder what Liverpool would have achieved if them jokers hadn't driven Rafa out. Rafa had made us great in Europe again. Look at us now.

From what I remember it was Rafa who drove Alonso out.
Alonso was quiet happy where he was until Rafa started all that Gareth Barry nonsense.

Alonso was driven out by rafa trying to sell him! mascherano wanted to leave, know your facts.

Rafa drive Alonso out , No ?

Alonso was also under performing until all the Gareth Barry nonsense! No doubt he is great but w only had 1 good season out of him! masch is a different story!

Danski

Mascherano left coz Rafa got the bullit and he did'nt want to play under Hodgson!

Rafa wanted Alonso to go to Milan and play against Inter, in the return leg of the CL. Xabi stayed at home for the birth of his 1st child. Their relationship was never the same after that. Mascherano forced his way out and refused to play.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Isn't it amazing how time confuses the facts!.

Yep, must be something in the Argentinian water Blair...

Cuchulainn's Hounds

Really..rafa got rid of alonso...what did KK do with the 100 mill he recieved?? bought a new alonso?? rafa ca nbe proud saying...i was the last manager who took liverpool to CL...KK will never do that with this team...

Isn't it amazing how time confuses the facts!.
only for some people!

King kenny is about to prove what hes worth

Hi all, I've just read this American news article about Huntelaar from last week..

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/soccer/news/20120323/huntelaar/

It says further down the article that he is... "out of contract in 2013 and can leave for a fixed fee of €20 million ($26M) in the summer"...

I've converted into pounds and this is roughly £16.5m, right? Is this actually true? If so, is this something that has gone under the radar or something? At £16.5m for a proven CL level goal-scorer, this is a steal right? And he 'dreams' of playing in England doesn't he?

Can anyone, including the Eds, find out if this is true? If it is, he'd be perfect for Liverpool, he knows Kuyt well and used to play with Suarez too.
RedChris

I'm pretty sure Ed002 mentioned lately that he was open to a move in the summer or his club were open to offers. I think!

The Irish Rover {Ed002's Note - No interest from Liverpool that we are aware of, but I understand he is open to hearing any offers made to Schalke, but they certainly do not want to sell as it is going well for him in Gelsenkirchen.}

Huntelaar is 28 & slow. He does not suit the 'Liverpool Way' . Just because he has scored for them has no bearing on how he will perform for us if he doesn't fit our chosen style of play. A little clue - think of a proven goalscorer that Liverpool bought who is slow and doesn't suit their style of play and no longer scores.

He'll be 30.

Why would we want him for that much?

BthekingB

Doesn't suit the pool way ? That's rite, he wins

He did'nt have the best of time's at Madrid!

SP hasn't posted in a while, I wonder why? I hope he returns soon.
Talking of people who haven't posted in a while, where's Jonson?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - SP posted yesterday but it had to be deleted after it was defaced. Jonson - I don't know where he is.}

would love to buy a Marco Reus or Alan Dzagoev for cam
why not take a punt on any of Emmanuel Mayuka, Lacina Traore, Robert Lewandowski or Olivier Giroud for a st
we also need a nigel de jong or sven bender
i also think we need a cb and rw for that i would buy Jan Vertonghen or play kelly cb where he should be
rw hoilett Jakub Blaszczykowski Patrick Herrmann
most realistic targets in my opinion and would all be great additions to Liverpool along with Lucas coming back

03 Apr 2012 21:04:55
I think the big problem with liverpool is that you have missed big players for a good chunk of the season and you lack 1 player....a goal scorer.

If you look at newcastle we have a worse defence (since taylor got injured) but we had a goal scorer is Ba and now another in Cisse.

That is the main difference between a lot of home draws and a lot of home wins for you lot.

The thing I like about NUFC transfers is that the owner has a plan and budget and sticks to it, we were quoted £15mil for Cisse in the summer, waited and got him for 8 instead of panic buying and paying over the odds for 2nd/3rd choice.

The main thing with LFC's transfers is that there seems to be no plan. You bought players like downing and carroll who should play well together wth traditional wing play and a big centre forward, then bought suarez who is suited to playing a pass and move game.

I know it is important to have options but 80/90% of the transfer budget should surely go on buying players for your main style. LFC seem to have no idea of the main formation/style of play they want.

This is just looking in from the outside, I don't see many games other than what is on TV but that seems the big problem.

ToonFan

Very well said. I ask the same thing daily.

Nice to see a reasoned, intelligent analysis of our problems from a fan of another club.

I also have to add if downing just stood his crosses up for carroll instead of drilling them across he would do so much better.

No problem guys, I enjoy the banter during games but after its good to actually discuss things reasonably nd share some good views.

too many times i hear fellow newcastle fans discussing how we have missed our chance for champs league cause Prdew didnt do this or didnt sign him etc.

All clubs have a mix of sensible and stupid fans

ToonFan

As an arsenal fan i understand your perspective...different players with contrasting style of play and then a game plan which changes alot. ive seen liverpool play against us like they were barcelona, yes it was lucky we won, but at the same time the clinical finish was just not there. Suarez had to do too much and he was unlucky but just looking at how the games have gone on, liverpool seem to be missing something. i think daglish is not the man for the job, although they will keep him on, i think they need to improve the roster, have a very tactical manager like benitez dare i say, and as good as suarez is...somehow i feel had torres stayed it would have been a fairytale right about now for the club and for the players

But we should have more people in the box, ready for the cross, and our play in the final third has been very poor, Suarez has been great at times but he can`t do it all on his own Ross

Dear Toon fan.
You are one very astute and well informed fan.
Your input and analysis is greatly appreciated.
Well done on the victory, and all the best for the rest of the season.
Regards Shankly's Red Army.

Suarez has also been absolute rubbish st times though.

Does anyone know what went wrong at rangers {Ed002's Note - Try asking on the Rangers page.}

We were two nil up with fifteen minutes to go and then...........no, I don't want to talk about it.

I think it's clear for everyone to see that liverpool need new players. A creative midfielder, a pacey winger who can actually beat a defender and a poacher.
I think Gaston Ramirez would be a great signing as he can play on both wings, behind the striker or in a central attacking midfield role. He looks very promising.
Junior Hoilett/Dries Mertens/Matt Phillips/Cristian Tello seem like the most mentioned names for the wing. I personally think we should invest in both Matt Phillips and Junior Hoilett, both possess incredible pace and both can beat a man (unlike downing).
For a striker it seems like Luuk De Jong could be a great option, very young and scoring goals for fun in Holland. My preference would be Klass Huntelaar as we know he worked well with Luis at Ajax but it seems like Shalcke may qualify for the Champions league which probably rules out a move to us.

YNWA

This may hurt so I'm sorry! Was chatting to a close friend of juniors, they claim he would find it hard to gain first team football in what they claim as a group a of teams, man utd, man city, spurs, arsenal & chelsea, he feels that he would gain first team football with a category b team which would include liverpool, unfortunately I got the idea that they would favour newcastle?

FSG have to take some of the heat for this shambles. They want it all ways. They expect success but impose transfer criteria with priority on reale value. Granted its a business but they don't want to pay high wages and want resale value. What exactly do they mean by this? Bring a player in, improve him and then when he reaches his peak, sell him on at a profit? Kenny has had his hands tied with this American resale nonsense. We needed a right winger but bought a central midfielder as there were no right wingers fulfilling the resale criteria. It's small wonder there's no balance in the side. There is clearly promise with the young talent we have but surely FSG must realise that we need to also compliment this with established talent, (a competent centre forward and right winger). If they don't see this then they should get off Kenny's back and wait for the fruit to ripen.

Ozone

Kenny bought Henderson for the RW and it flopped. But ya, surely should have bought

Newcastle, Everton, Sunderland and Swansea have spent a fraction of what we have spent in the last 18 months. Some or all of these clubs will finish above us. And it's FSG's fault?

Not even close to plausible. Try again.

That's my point mate, he bought Henderson (a central midfielder) to play on the right purely because Henderson fulfilled this resale criteria nonsense. It hasn't worked and Hendersons going backwards not forward.

Ozone

He didn't say it was fsg's fault... He said they need to take some of the heat for the situation we find ourselves in. There is a difference

Peter

Now we are clutching at straws, will it be the cleaner tomorrow! Ross

Try again!! Why don't you try grasping the point mr nameless, I'm not being critical about the sums, it's the criteria imposed by FSG that has limited the audience and because of this they may have missed a trick. It certainly hasn't helped the balance of the team.

Ozone

Furthermore, jelovic 27, Cisse 27, ba 27. This serves to illustrate my point, the owners wouldn't sanction the purchase of any of these as they don't fulfill the transfer criteria. The audience is significantly narrowed due to the transfer policy, it's a nonsense.

Ozone {Ed002's Note - I appreciate you seem to want to turn the hate against the owners, but I think you are overplaying this. Bellamy, Downing for example.}

Well said Ed

hi eds all reds firstly i want to say how dissapointed i am with recent results. but, not with all the performances lots of good things still going on. also less we forget , no aggerr no johnson no lucas!! we have missed them. however, there are mistakes being made by kenny and the players. why pick carroll and not downing? before adams injury , why restrict him as much as he was? did he play like that for blackpool? jordan henderson is a very good young player , but needs to be played in the middle! stevieg should be on the right or even on the bench. i think we have had a lot of bad luck along the way this season but thats no excuse for where we find ourselves in the epl now! one or two players signed this summer , no fantasy names from me! , dempsey for me , would be a good signing , either along side carroll if suarez goes , or , if suarez stays , on the right. if ashley young had come to anfield with downing, kennys original plan, things i, i belive , would have been different. having said that , there were , and are , other very good alternatives out there. demble, dempseys teamate at fulham , is a very talented and strong player. steven fletcher at wolves , a natrual goal scorer , as i said , no fantasy football names just realistic. heres hoping for a win on saturday and , please god , we stuff the bitters! godbless the 96 and all reds steviep48

Every time we get a corner Carroll gets the shirt pulled off him maybe one day we will get a ref like tonite.

Sadly we don't have a messi or anyone else who can take a penalty ..

Without wishing to sound like a victim why did Carroll get decisions when he played for Newcastle that he doesn't get when he plays for Liverpool?

Toon fan here refs need to be consistent Williamson was sent off for much less against Mackems .Tbf on the same issue Jose had a right pull at Ben Arfas shirt.
Anyway hope you beat the Toffees

Bit of a dream team:
3-1-4-2
25.Pepe Reina
4...Martin Skrtel
5...Daniel Agger
3...Jose Enrique
6...Javi Martinez
17.Ibrahim Affelay
8...Steven Gerrard (c)
11.Kevin Strootman
10.Raheem Sterling
7...Luis Suarez
9...Klaas Jan Huntelaar

I like it... but maybe Lukk De Jong as well as Sterling? just so Sterling dosnt get burnt out...

Phooey

With that formation and tht team, the team will get ripped off and masaccred.....

LiverBird

We'd get ripped to shreds mate.

Stu.

Would we? The best form of defence is attack. I hate that we don't have Lucas in there though. In my opinion he is one of the best CDM's in the world with a very good tackling statistic.

Seems that the bring back rafa brigade have given up the ghost, it's easy to forget the bad times and remember two champions league finals but all wasn't always well under rafa. While I'm watching Barcelona v Milan I am reminded that when we needed a striker to cover for Torres Rafa signed Alberto Aqualani and Vorenin. When we were so close to winning the title and we were playing teams at home who we should be beating he played two holding midfield players and left Robbie Keane on the bench.
Had he been more adventurous we would have won that title.
I like all Liverpool fans have some fond memories of Rafa's time but I also have dark vivid memories of some terrible performances and dull scoreless home draws .
Never go back.
Everyone remembers when kenny dalglish left the club after a game against Everton last time.
Could the same thing happen again should his players not get anything for him in Our premiership matches with Villa and Blackburn and we get rolled over at wembley

If your going to moan about rafa lets get dome facts right.aqualani is a midfielder not cover for torres. voronin was free why do you think rafa got him because he didnt have money because of the two cowboys. soul man

Take note:

1. We have a lot of new players at the club, learning a new style. It takes time. Even Alonso was very avg his first season.
2. We have had injuries and 3 of our best players from yester year, Stevie, Carra and Kuyt are past their best.
3. Thanks to Rafa our squad is still relatively week. A strong squad leads to consistency in the league.
4. Admit it or not, we have had a lot of bad luck and off field distractions this season, which play a part.
5. We are building a team and changing the way we play. It takes time.

Yes, Kenny has made mistakes but he has also done a helluva lot of good. Give him time to build our next succesful era. The players Kenny bought are decent players, I think its just the pressure and expectation that is killing their confidence. Lighten up, support them and they will relax, confidence will return and they will play.

Lastly, I would go dutch and buy: Strootman, Mertens & De Jong and have a real go at top 4 next year. All those players available, affordable and realistic. Maybe Sissoko instead of Strootman who looks set for ManU.

Have a good evening all. Eds, love your work.

Chuck Norris {Ed002's Note - And we love you for that.}

Rafa had 6 years and over 200 million to spend in his time and had more than enough time to get a good team. When he he was sacked, the current team was very poor Ross

Agree with what you said about the bad performances but don't forget what Rafa had to put up with in his last season and that was when most of the bad performances were. He completely ran out of patience with the two idiots, his frustration boiled over and admittedly he lost the plot a little bit but don't forget that he was promised money to spend and got almost nothing, that's why he bought badly towards the end. I'm not saying Rafa is the answer but do you really think he would do a worse job than what we are seeing now?

Rafa sucked, face it. I supported him while he was manager but hated what he was doing to the club. Him and Houllier ruined this club.

Rafa spent £200m in 6 years, Kenny spent £110m in 6 months. What a joke!

Think youll find its more than 6 months and not 110 mill

Rafa signed his own p45 the day he spent his whole transfer budget on Aquilanti. Talk about out of the blue. No one can claim he had no funds. He may not have had bucket loads of cash but he was given the Aquilanti money. Had he been such a genius he would have brought a goal scorer to cover for the then constantly injured torres.
Back then he could have signed two decent players if not more for that money. What was he thinking . Voranin like so many players who sign for Liverpool was never given a serious run in the side. It seems Suarez is undropable but his not exactly a deadly prediture in the box, far from it.
As for andy Carroll has there ever been a squarer peg in a red shirt.
We hit the jack pot with Torres , right from the off, his injuries would have some baring on our positions in the league during his time. Has he missed 1 game through injury at Chelsea yet ? t**t

With fees/add ons etc it's more than 110

Okay not 6 months 8 months

Ridiculous...pls give kk another 100 mill and 5 more years..i guarantee..he will not even come close to Rafa..rafa won Fa cup, a Cl, a CL final, 4 years consistent in CL QF apart from one season...rafa was feared in europe. he looked liek a top tactical manager...i still recall him buying big greek CB..its only coz..he didnt had a penny to spend for henderson, adam, and downing..his highest purchase apart from torres was babell for 11.5 mill...most of teh players purchased by him have been resaled over double, torres, alonso, mascherano, etc...

Mascherano was 17m

03 Apr 2012 19:54:05
I think we should have

two pairs of holding Full Backs - we have the holding players.

Two Pairs of Attacking Full back-We need someone on the left that can attack full out with Glen Johnson.

it would give use more from the bench.

Enrique is a great full back for attacking and defending...what more would you want, he is twice the player of johnson

Enrique good at attacking? Goes round in circles, can't cross and will never score a goal.

03 Apr 2012 19:49:08
If Kenny doesn't win the FA cup then he's out, that's a fact. Wether you like Kenny or not the FA cup will save him.
Sired

If you are embarrassed to be a Liverpool fan then don't worry. You aren't a Liverpool fan

Non sensical thoughts

LiverBird

Even if we win he is not going to be manager in the summer unless theres some sort of miracle and we destroy every team we play for the next 8 games..

Steve Parker will be happy with Barca's second penalty. A referee who correctly punishes holding in the box at corners!

The Robin

Can we sign that referee?

No skrtel holds on like no ones business

According to the LFC wesite, Flanno is 'Living the dream'. Can somebody please wake me up from my nightmare.

I wish you woke up......
I wish all our fair weather fans woke up

LiverBird

Fairweather must mean tunnel vision.Cos i go most games and support. But were carp

LiverBird,

So supporters who have the intellect to think critically are "Fair weather fans"?

Get a grip and wake up (Like op says) to the fact Kenny is completing the transition from CL team to mid-table team (In style too, he's even got fans content about it).

Just wait to the summer and (If Kenny stays) see the tripe we are linked with, mark my words, if we are lucky, one might actually be Liverpool quality.

NoNameNeddy

His your's and my dream is to play for LFC! and he's living his dream! and been our best player in the last two game's!

03 Apr 2012 19:46:21
Everyone keeps saying we need to buy better players, but do you not think a lot of our problems are down to a lack of confidence not playing the right formation, and people are not getting a decent run in the team, Carroll starts to improve then gets dropped same with Downing, and Maxi does not even get a start. He never seems to play Henderson in his best position, Gerrard is playing to deep, our defence is lacking a leader. There has to some consistency with Team selection.

We have been saying for too long that we are missing a couple of players and we could challenge for the title. These players need to be found and we need to play our strongest team and win the PL I am sorry that is the only trophy for LFC Ross

Either way its down to management meaning dalglish?

03 Apr 2012 19:41:57
Kenny needs to put Raheem Sterling, Nathan Eccleston and Suso in the team a.s.a.p and let them have ago?

What harm could it do , after all, 30 odd games l8r, Carroll, Downing, Henderson have done f*** all. we are not gona get CL or relegated, bleed them in over the last league matches 15 - 30 mins second half, look how well Sterling did in 16 mins!

Evening eds and fellow reds .just a question to the EDs what do you as fans think is missing in the liverpool squad? And do you think we are as far away as everyone thinks .my thoughts are a poacher and a right winger both of top quality and we would be up there . thought please .cheers psv {Ed001's Note - same here, though I think we need to replace Gerrard as well now, we can't wait any longer, it is time to return to the ruthlessness that won us titles.}

Who would you realistically choose to replace gerrard ed001? I would like Martinez but ofcourse that's not realistic.

Square tomato

And some continuity in the team, get a winning team/formation and stick with it!

I agree. Carra and Gerrard have been our best players for the last decade, or so. But time is catching up with them and we need to be looking at replacements. Not just players in their positions but players with similar ability and character. Players who will step up when needed and lead by example. The players we brought in are not up to that and with Lucas's injury and Agger's problems, we were right up against it.
A couple of strong signings and a bit more balance could really improve the signings Kenny brought in. They need leading; they are not leaders.
Rigsby.

I agree with Ed...

Gerrard needs to moved to the right... I know I may be slammed for this cheeky suggestion but it might not be bad idea to put Lucas as an attacking midfielder....

Not only are we missing his screening of the back 4 but he also plays some fantastic through balls for Suarez and Company....

We should go for a defensive midfielder...not sure abt tht atm....

On the right hand side, we should buy Affellay or LeeChung Yong (Bolton)....Both of them will bring balance to the team and wont cost us a lot both in fees or wages....

LiverBird

Ild like to see Agger as a DM, knows how to defend and can be dangerous going foward, with Coates behind him

Does anyone know why Liverpool didn't buy anyone in January? Even if it was a loan player or two {Ed002's Note - Try the search function and the archive.}

Was it a management decision. I know we wanted people, but deals never happen and bit of new blood just changes the club.

Clubs with small transfer budgets get it right and out performance us in the last couple of seasons.LFC is spending huge amounts on players who earn big sums of cash and yet under perform. There is something seriously wrong with the strategy employed by the coaching staff, that seems to be failing every season. We supposedly turn good players to under achievers season in and season out. When we sign them they are quality, some where through the season they are no good. Playing them out of position has been our biggest problem and needs to be sorted out.We need the best sports motivators to help our players confidence. Some players can cope with the big price tag they come with and under pressure under perform. All in all we are getting it wrong and it hurts each and every fan we have.

Where lacking an Experience fullback,.. {Ed002's Note - You mean someone like Johnson, Enrique or Aurelio?}

They are injured. flanagan has caused most of our defeats in the past three games. Having someone more experience might of saved our season {Ed001's Note - how has he caused it? Do you bother to watch the games or do you just talk utter nonsense? It is imbecilic comments like that which stop our youth players being blooded early. Management knows the youngsters will get these ridiculous and untrue comments flung at them and the players will have their confidence destroyed. Flanagan didn't play too badly, he was certainly less at fault for our defeats than Enrique (where the hell was he when Ben Arfa had acres of space to deliver a cross??), Gerrard and Carragher. But none of them were responsible on their own either.}

Well said Ed0001, I thought Flanno was one of the better players against Newcastle.

Ozone

The back 4 have been out of sync ever since Agger has got injured.... Kenny plays a higher line than Benitez and Carra gets exposed due to lack of pace....

Result - The gap betweeen defence and midfield gets widened due to back 4 dropping off to protect Carra and the midfield gets ovverrun by the opposition...

Enrique is out of gas....Kenny hasnt played Aurelio at all....Hence he is apotential worry for the rest of the season......

LiverBird

Flanagan had a good game. Enrique, Carragher and Gerrard cause the last defeat.

Everyone is moaning about Kenny. He is someoe who loves this club so you don't think he tells the players to play s**t do you? The players brought in aren't all KD's fault yes they're crap but what did our scouts say? What was DC's part? Did the manager actualy have much choice.
The players aren't performing and that is not the managers fault. They are all highly paid pro's and should start accepting the blame themselves.
We need to buy some top class players to get to the top where we belong then we can start to buy for the future.

I heard people saying they want Rafa back. Short memories! He is the one who destroyed the club Kenny will build it up again given long enough and with the backing of the fans and owners.

No one is.

Clutching at straws there mate trying to defend kenny. Fact is Kenny had the final say on players.
More facts are we currently sit in 8th and have won the carling cup, wouldnt really call that a great season, and before people say we can win the FA cup, the optimum word is COULD. We havnt won it yet and on current form you would have to say it looks bleak.

Kenny didn't have he final say, he was choked by the 'resale criteria' in the selection process. FSG's transfer policy needs relaxing.

Thats it, Carra is the blame for all thats going on at LFC

Along with Carra, its bad luck, bad ref's, goalkeepers who wait for liverpool to have their MOTM day

Wait I can the diference between dreams and reality, Can You?
Its nothing to do with KD, SC or SK

I was watching Rodolfo's reserves last night and I for one believe that this guy as the right credentials to become our future manager.I am not saying we should replace Kenny soon, but we should think about promoting this guy if and when the time comes. He sets his team out to go and win games.

Carra has been an amazing player in the past and has saved us on so many occasions, but I really do think he should hang his boots up, his positioning has been poor when he has played and he really has no pace, and I think Wisdom or Coates should be given the chance can they do any worse. Ross

Carra's obvious lack of pace is affecting Reina and causing him to be hesitant.

1. Johnson can't defend mate. He flys up the field and leaves gaps for the break aways. When he is there people go past him anyway. I personally don't think he can cross his legs either. He has a shot on him but how many go in?

2. Rafa can say what he wants. In fact I can say I would have spent that money better so there you go. Makes no odds though because its Dalglish who has the say and that really maybe the problem along with Comolli as to who we are bringing in.

Spriggo

I am certain last seasons signing where Kennys choices. He wanted to go with players who had prem experience.Comolli wanted Matudi instead of Adam.Sisokho rather than Hendo and Boudabouz instead of Downing.

And when did he tell you this?

LiverBird

The ed's said that they were comolli targets or the interest in those player where likely to be initiated by him.

sissoko and boudabouz defiantly where and he also said himself matudi had the best ratings in Liege 1 as defensive middle, tackles won etc etc...i saw it somewhere..

here it is......

Liverpool chief Damien Comolli has confirmed interest in St Etienne midfielder Blaise Matuidi.

The 24-year-old midfielder now has two French caps to his name and strong tackling stats make him a hit with Comolli.

"In France, all the figures prove that the player who wins the most possession at the feet of his opponents is Blaise Matuidi," Comolli told the News of the World.

"That is an extraordinary strong point. When the team plays high, it means a goal chance."

boudebouz

Reds director of football Damien Comolli has made personal trips to watch the Sochaux starlet on a number of occasions, most recently over the weekend in a 2-1 win over Lyon.

And, when questioned by France Football regarding the interest of Liverpool, Boudebouz admitted that he was well aware that he was being tracked.

"I was told that he had spoken to the president of Sochaux, but I don't know what they said. We'll see," responded the 21-year-old.

sissoko

and we all know what the said have said about comolli telling sissoko or hes agent that he sees sissoko as a replacement for gerrard.

sahko

we tried with sakho but PSG was then taken over and he was made captain.

kenny has to go at the end of the season ,no point in keeping him in charge just because hes a club legend, truth is very bad buys with the money he spent and were now falling apart on the pitch ,players lack confidence and now hes changing our style of play to more direct ,this shows he has lost confidence in himself and his ideas at the start of the season.

Rumor has it LFC is signing what they believe to be the missing link this season. His name is Lucas Leiva defensive mid-fielder. Would allow Gerrard and Henderson central attacking roles.

If we signed the big foot it wont make a difference

Lucas isn't a defensive midfielder!
Rafa used him there to replace Didi Hamaan but it's not his natural position.
He's grown into the role but he's a more attacking player.....not a goalscorer but a player who, if played right, could bolster the attack.
If we are to progress then we need to play our players in the right positions....Glen Johnson at right/left midfield, Martin Kelly at Centre-Back, Dirk Kuuyt as a Centre Forward, Charlie Adam as a substitute.

Raheem sterling is a waste of talent and pace. Fair enough the lads young but downing is better off playing for rhyl or just going on britains got talent or something. Bellamy has sore nees but come on hu doesnt i have a friend who can predict the weather with his nees. If bellamy has this ability then we could use this to our advantage. And carrol looks like kyriakos's ball boy. if we dont sign messi and xavi this summer we might aswell play olympia in stanley park.

Hi eds I really think this is the time that alonso will come back forvet fsgs pollicy of younger players with selk on value alonso can still give 5 years like scholes does for united walks with ball he can see liverpool r in a strugle and I'm sure he will want to help sort it out along with alonso expect another striker 2 wingers and maybe a defender with suso and sterling pushing into 1st team squads . We al no we need to get rid of the no performers and splash out on talent buh ppl need to foger the name hazard cavvani lazzezi etc alonso is the only high profile proven player hu is coming in the restwill be good. But will make their name in a liverpool shirt as did suarez

Ive been told the after game program on LFCTV only let certain calls through the majority of fans were not allowed because of the points made . This just shows how they try and help kenny but roy was lamb to the slaughter. Kenny should be told what the fans really think of him. There aint no king in liverpool no more

Eds important sick of this run down Kenny can some Liverpool fans not see what is happening if i had asked them before Liverpool signed Andy Carrol would they sign him they would of saying yes the rest of them were second choice they went after downing after there main target went to man u we just can't get players with our name anymore and that's it we don't have a money ball owner we all know Andy Carroll isn't good enough and after that dive when all he had to do is kick it and it was a goal i for one don't want him but we will not be getting a big name player to replace him end of so cut kenny a bit of slack he is doing his best with what he has with isn't very much.
Eam

If you read this site before we signed Carroll many of us said he wasnt good enough

F**k cutting him slack he made his bed he needs to go ASAP

LFCTV dont have a call in show on Mondays anymore when we have a bad result over the weekend, and on Fridays of that week they have the same callers who never complain and always have a good excuse to give for the poor performance we have just had,Maybe honesty would be the best thing !!!!!

Loads of us didnt fancy Carrol,or Hendo. Were split on Adam and Downing.Dont make up stuff to defend Him,you,or signings

Hi eds, this is probably my 3rd post on here. I just wanted to say that, I believe kenny should be throwing some of our talented youngsters in now like, sterling, Morgan, suso etc. Coates definetly needs to be starting the remaining prem games as he has the talent but just needs to adjust to the English game. And unfortunately carra just hasn't got the legs to be a starter anymore and he is becoming a bit of a liability.. Andy carrol also needs to start every game from now until the end of the season, as it is the only way he will get form and fitness. I think he will come good because he has shown in flashes what he can do and had a run of good games last month but then was dropped evertime he started getting confident. I do hope kenny is bold and chooses to do this in the remainder of the season as it is the only way he can keep his job atleast until january. I know it is a long statement, but what do the eds think? Thanks alot. LangLFC YNWA

I am a Liverpool supporter. I will give my unbridled support whether we win, lose or draw. It's been said many times before, it's always easier when you're winning - but being a true supporter means giving support during the darkest times. Believe me, our forunes will improve immensely, I honestly think that.

KK took the very difficult job on, and is not so stupid to think it would be easy, or that his reputation alone would bring automatic success.

There are so many doom mongers on this site who just want short term glory and think that throwing millions at the team is the answer, but it isn't.

I see a lot of great work going on below the first team level, and remember KK brought in Shelvey & Sterling, and these 2 will have a big part to play in our future.

I am old enough to remember when Utd were in our position & actually got relegated. They built a yeam 'in house' below the first team, and when the right time came they all piushed on together, and the rest is history, as they say.

No multi million pound foreigners, just good home grown talent.

I would rather us go down that route, which in the end provides a longer term basis for success.

It is tough right now, very tough, but we will come through it stronger.

Don't forget, we can't get in the top 4, we are in the Europa League (for good / bad), so the mindset is definately not where it should be.

I hope it is in the right place come 14th April !!

KBL

I see you have joined us at last.........

Sorry KBL but Kenny did'nt sign Jonjo or Raheem! Rafa signed Raheem and agreed to buy Jonjo but was given the boot before he signed!

Kenny suggested the acquisitions of both sterling and more predominantly shelvey whilst on london scouting missions whilst working in a previous role. as rafa would say *fact.

Well thats it then.Let Kenny return to scouting role

Hey guys, 2 things:

1) Why is everyone so keen on selling G.Johnson? I personally think he does a great job at RB and would really like to see him continue at LFC. I'm perfectly happy with his performances and I think he has better crosses than probably our entire team other than Gerrard.

2) I don't know if it's lies, or if anyone else has seen it, but apparently Rafa has said that he 'wished he had the money Kenny does, because he would of spent it much better'. I just see that as hinting so FSG will notice him if the LFC Manager position comes free. I don't think it's very respectful to King Kenny to say something like that, and although I obviously appreciate and like Rafa for everything he has done I don't agree with what he said. I'm not saying he's wrong, because he probably would've bought better players, but there's no need to bring it up again. Thoughts?

Thanks, Ell.

Haha you are making yourself look like a knob head mate, you're fans are known for only singing when you win, any sign of trouble and you call for your manager to be sacked, blame the owners, boo your own players, fight with your own fans and stop going the games, much like some of the plastic fans on here. You talk about your fans being known for singing, our fans are known world wide. Tbh the atmesphere at Anfield this year has been poor, however we have the best away fans in the League and only sing about our own team and players the majority of the time. No it isn't, The whole structure, taste and density of a Gooseberry and Grape are totally different and cannot be compared to each other.
Although wine can be made from both fruits this does not mean they are similar in any way.

Just a quick question, who is the reserves' top goal scorer? I know it is hard to fully work out as so many of the players interchange between the u18s and reserves now but i would have thought eccleston has scored a fair few this year. I know he has had a few controversial issues with twitter etc. and he was given a couple of games under rafa i think but worth a go for a few games at the end of the season perhaps? Obviously Morgan looks like he has a lot of support but i also think Ngoo would be useful to throw in.

Eccleston is top scorer so far with 7. Sterling has 6 and Coady has 5

03 Apr 2012 16:29:23
Ok, first of all, I believe if Gerrard is going to get a regular place on the team then he has to play high up the pitch just behind Suarez or Carroll. I don't think he can cut it as a center midfielder anymore. That possibly means having Carroll or Suarez on the bench, so be it, we need to find an answer to our goal scoring issues.

Secondly, if we are to buy a few descent players in the summer then it looks like we are going to have to do a bit of wheeler dealing. I personally would take a few risks to free up some wages & get some transfer money in. I would sell Johnson & free up his wages & get a respectable fee in for him & have my right backs as Kelly & Flanno. I would get rid of Aurelio & free his wages. I would also let Carra go & promote the best CB we have in the reserves to join Skrtel, Agger & Coates. Aqualaini will be gone for a small fee & hopefully Joe Cole as well. Between Cole,Johnson,Carra,Aurelio & Aqua must be close to £400,000 a week (£20 miilion a year)in wages & possibly £15/17 million in transfer funds. Most of these players I believe we wouldn't miss too much, yet free up a fair wedge of money. Its probably no where near enough to buy the right midfielder, center midfielder & forward that we desperately need, but it's a start. The main point is if the owners don't dig deep into their pockets, then whoever is in charge will have to take some risks to freshen up the team.

I also would hope that we play players mainly in the position that they are used to. I think it's be proven as futile & unfair on Henderson to keep playing him out on the right. Play him in the middle if he makes the team or stick him on the bench if he doesn't. Playing out of position is draining whatever confidence he has left. Clint Dempsey is coming into the last year of his contract! Why not try & get him? He could be ready for a new challenge. A good premier league player at a good price.

The Irish Rover

Well Said.

I would push Kelly into CB and buy a back up to Johnson for RB. Although Kelly is good in this position he just isn't built to be bombing up and down the flanks and is probably the reson why he gets injuried a lot. Skrtel, Agger, Coates and Kelly looks pretty solid to me!

Personnaly I would push kelly over a bleedin cliff

He's way over rated

BJH (YNWA) You are a complete tool lad, if you look at any of my posts you will see I am not blindly backing Kenny I am in fact stating that any manager (kenny or whoever) should be given more than one season to achieve success, you see yourself as a football expert you t*t because things you have said you have been proved right with, thats for others to decide if your right or not! I WILL SAY IT ONCE MORE FOR YOU, AND READ THIS NICE AND SLOWLY! DO WE KEEP CHANGING THE MANAGER EVERY SEASON IF IN YOUR CLOWN LIKE OPINION THEY ARE NOT UP TO YOUR STANDARDS? DO WE SPEND MILLIONS ON A NEW MANAGERS CONTRACT AND PAY HIM OFF AFTER A SEASON? DO WE LET HIM SPEND MILLIONS ON PLAYERS THEN GET RID OF THEM AFTER A SEASON? You are clueless lad. FACT!!

A reply to Issac Young concerning Andy Carroll. Before he left Newcastle Carroll had achieved his boyhood dream, playing number nine for Newcastle, he was a hero, he had also just broke into the England setup. Now he is not liked at Liverpool, cant get a regular game and is no where near the England team. The reason, and this is a fact because I was at a talk-in with Alan Pardew recently and he stated that on transfer deadline day Andy Carroll looked him in the face and said I want to leave. So dont feel sorry for Andy Carroll and dont have a go at the Geordie supporters for booing him. He had achieved his goal and threw it away - FACT!

That's not what Carroll said last January.

Newcastle the club has to say this because they cannot be seen to be willing to sell their best players at the drop of a hat.

I remember the day he signed and the fact that Fat Ashley offered to fly him down to Liverpool in order for the deal to be done in time

So what ,fact is he signed a 5 year contract if he wanted to stay they couldn't force him to go .

15th october 2011

thats when our season was over and fergie won .....since then its been a disaster

FACT!!!!!!!!

So what you are saying is that Suarez has wrecked Liverpool's season, as the 15th of October was the day he racially abused Evra.

CnM

Yes CnM its been a witchhunt ever since the press have absolutely dogged us ...there is no way you can keep a team focused on the job in hand when something like that happens .....and no i aint blaming luis ....but lets not get into that again ....we all know the truth .....and we all know what we are fighting against from now on

Tbh I'd stick with Carroll as the main striker. Let's be honest, we're not going to get a £20m+ striker in the summer and anyway I don't think that's the problem.

If you watch our play, we create chances but I'd say they were 'half-chances'. We don't have any clearcut ones compared to the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Bayern, etc.

So I'd say we need a new centre mid to up the tempo. There are a lot of good young ones out there ATM, I'd personally like Eriksen. Then we need a winger to cut in and challenge defenders, not an orthodox one likes the players we have at the moment. Someone like Mertens, Marin, Ramirez or maybe Munian.

Then maybe a versatile back-up striker who can play as the main striker if Carroll still fails to deliver. Maybe Luuk De Jong.

Then, here comes the bizarre bit. In my opinion, we lack a leader on the pitch, someone who's been there and done it and drives the players on. True, we have Stevie and Carra but I think we need a bit more. So how about a move for Ballack? He'd be free and although he wouldn't play all the time, I believe the mental effect he would have on the team would be really positive. Then we should maybe get Pranjic on a bosman for cover for lft-back and all across the midfield.

So what are the finances of it? I'd say:
Eriksen £18m
Mertens/Marin/Ramirez £10m OR Munian £20m
De Jong £12m
Ballack free
Pranjic free
TOTAL £40/50m

TEAM
Reina
Kelly Skrtel Agger Enrique
Gerrard Lucas ERIKSEN
(WINGER) Carroll Suarez

SUBS
Doni, Coates, Carragher, Henderson, Ballack, Downing/Bellamy, De Jong

Then I think we could make at least £20m by selling Adam, Johnson, Kuyt, Maxi, Aurelio, Jones and don't forget about Cole and Aquilani so it might be pushing £30m. So net spend would be around £20-25m.

Shelvey, Robinson and maybe Flanagan should go out on loan to Prem teams for experience.

I reckon with this team we could challenge for honours and I'd say it's quite realistic too.

You're miles out on the likely prices for players in and Ballack and Pranjic would cost a fortune in wages. No one thinks Eriksen would come and neither I suspect would most of the WINGER you mention. Stick with the computer games mate. JimK

JimK you've got to give it to him, there's no Hazard, Cavani, Higuain, like some delusion fans have got. I think Eriksen is quite possible.

Your forgetting one vital thing .You can't offer CL football and arn't likely to in the near future so your player options are not going to be that good.Welcome to midtable mediocrity.

What's everybody's views on aldo's comments? Strikingly honest it has to be said.

Sam Adzii jft96

The King is no more he is a failed manager who wasted millions on rubbish. Most managers buy quality players from around europe our poor excuse for a manager looked in the skip.If he loved liverpool he would have handed in he's resignation he is as useful as a left hand pair of sissors.

Hard to disagree with anything he's said really, the players need to step up but the manager needs to pick the right players.
For me the next game against Villa Carroll should start in a 4-4-2 with Suarez supporting him hopefully distracting one of Villas CB's, then Downing on the left and Gerrard on the right putting balls in the box for the entire first half. If he still doesn't score in a team 'playing to his strengths' then there's no hope for him. Mind its not just Carroll who needs to perform in fact he didn't play that bad on Sunday, judging by the weekends performance everyone bar Shelvey and Flano need to up their game.
The club are in crisis but the next 3 games could snap us out of it.

always a red

But left handed scissors are very useful to anyone left handed?!?!

I don't mind Reina being out for a few games tbh- I think his head was going a bit anyway, his judgement has been uncertain, and his form hasn't been very good for a while.

I posted about six months ago that I thought his form was starting to dip, and got slated. He's just gotten worse since then, although class is permanent and I'm sure he'll be right back with the very best before long.

In the meantime, how bad can Doni be? He was Roma's first choice for six years, so fingers crossed he can do a good job.

In fact if he shows some real class and consistency, I wouldn't automatically give Pepe the shirt back. Let's hope we have some real competition for it.

Only problem is when did he last play a game of football.

Derek

Theres paper talk of a return for Brad Jones. If true what does it say about clubs faith in Doni?

Can honestly see Pepe putting a transfer request in at the end of the season!

Even Kennys staunchest advocates must admitt 3 of 5 of Kennys buys have failed.Carrol,Adam,Hendersen.Juries out on Downing,And after great start Enriques gone backwards. You can never be certain on transfers, but 35m on potential which is what KK kept saying is a risk few clubs can condone. Now is it the blend, styleve play or players that dont fit re the others?Either way a large part comes down to Kenny. And of course some-coaches and players themselves.Do LFC look into attitude and aptitude of players before buying,or is a lot now Commolis Stats?Because whatever way you slice it Kenny fans-"A work in progress",has ups and downs. There aint much to be up about.Ok a Cup(whose merits often contested)Pathetic Goals for record, shocking Leauge performances especially at home.(Against the lower sides in particular)Ok Hodgsons approach awful, style of play and mans demeanour, yet had 3 more points.Kennys "tierd",now "sorry for themselves"(People losing jobs every day when their wages 20-100k a week!)Is making us become increasingly butt of others jokes.I aint got answers, wish fookin did.But this hurts,is tarnishing Kennys status. And there HAS to be drastic change.What-only"Insiders",truely know what has gone wrong and where"BUCK" lies,BUT its got to change and quickly before were just another fallen giant ala Wolves,Leeds etc. Were already at huge disadvantage and playing catch up Revenue wise. Now being outve Champs Leauge-Who will come?ILL be called doom and gloom, but a lotve Reds got to face up to the realitys. These are the facts

Downing is a FLOP there aint noy jury out
20 million fee 80,000 a week wages 0 goals 0 assists in PL

Downing isn't a flop. In my opinion he's been incredibly unlucky striking the bar/post a few times, and if the finishing on some of his assists were better, his stats on assists would have improved. I can immediately think of a few crosses were Downing put it in nicely, but we couldn't finish. I think he's a good player, although he's not playing at his full potential because the rest of the team aren't. I think he'll play well with other the players when they step up because he'll link up well with them.

Thanks, Ell.

Carrol was forced out of Newcastle..that Mike Ashley guy wanted 35m.. I don't think he ever wanted to play for Liverpool..It must have broken his heart having to leave his boyhood club..I feel for the guy..Money talks and it stinks to high heaven. The Newcastle fans should be ashamed of themselves for booing him like they did, he gave his heart and soul for that club. Without his sale they wouldn't be in the position they are in now. That poor lad must be feeling suicidal after the experience he went through on Sunday. Kenny should have known better and let him play for the 90mins..Why do people feel joy out of others poor fortune? This is whats wrong with the world not just football.. Don't get me started on the greed and selfishness of the Tories but I guess thats for another forum...People need to wake up..Coming to think of it Im gonna cut and paste this post and put it on the Newcastle Page too. Isaac Young

The main problem with Carroll is the money Liverpool paid, he's not doing too badly for a 5-10m forward and at the end of the day thats all he is.

As a Newcastle fan I've seen him in the Championship and the Premiership, he did alright in the Championship but only ended the season with 18 league goals, that is with a team that won the Championship relatively comfortably and a team that played to his strengths.

Last season in the Premiership he'd scored 11 goals at the point you bought him off us, 3 of those were a hat trick against Villa in our first home game of the season, so that's 8 goals in the remainder which isnt overly impressive.

If you look at the games he scored those goals in, they were nearly all in games we were winning anyways, he hardly ever got a goal when we counted on it.

Lambias and Ashley said earlier on in the season they would have sold him for 20m but were trying to get as much out of you as possible, when we turned down the 30m and you came back with 35m Lambias said he would have gone back to you and said we'll take the 30m if you hadnt upped it.

I watch our reserves a lot and been watching Carroll since he was 15 and I'm sorry but you're never going to get more of 10m striker out of him even when he's playing well.

Finally, even if you do sell him in the summer, its worth baring in mind that we have a 25% sell on clause in the deal.

According to Alan Pardew, Andy looked him in the eyes and told him he wanted to leave. Don't know if it's true or not.

"When a player looks you in the eye and says he wants to go like Andy did, and the fee was what it was, there is no going back," the Magpies boss told Journal Live.

MR EM

Alan Pardew said Carroll asked to leave after 30 million was rejected so he was not forced to do anything

We all know that, but he is a professional.

Andy you've been transfered, good luck at Liverpool. Professionals take their wages and play for anyone.

There is no sell on clause in the contract.

You don't know what to believe anymore. In honesty I think Carroll was forced out. We offered 35m and I think the owners wanted the money over him, so I don't think they said 'Get out now', but something like 'They've offered too much money and we want to take it.' You couldn't stay at a Club if they said that to you.

However, I have faith in big Andy, and although I don't think he'll ever become a world-wide famous number #9, I do think he'll step up and score quite a bit for us.

Thanks, Ell.

Look at the system Newcastle used when he was scoring for fun and adopt a version of that with hopefully better players then sell him on.

Hodgson had 3 points more and went

Hodgson was playerpowered through the door...
The LFC fans stood for it coz he was and never would be (in their view ) one of them!

KD on the other hand was part of LFC istry so he WAS (not is ) revered as a coach...
However the thin veil of bravado ...sentimentality and downright BS is rapidly becoming very transparent INDEED!

Well, continuing from the Marco Bueno post, he's now 18. Thus making him eligible for a move to Liverpool? There's not much info on it at the minute, so i hope the deal hasn't fell through! It's important for us to bring in talent from around the world to strengthen our academy. Building for the future is important!

My assessment of the players this season

Reina - sloppy compared to previous seasons. conceded a lot of goals from corners. but he still is good so hang on to him.

Johnson - good season so far. he has been better that what people think. his contract may be a problem. keep him.

Kelly - looked good whenever he has played. very injury prone. should be moved to central midfield if Johnson stays.

Skrtel - our best player of the season. has improved immensely.

Agger - very good season. he also has played a few more matches than the previous seasons.

Carragher - past his prime long back. disturbs the defence whenever he plays. has no pace and the whole defence has to stay back a bit more. no point in playing him again. kelly or coates to take his place.

Enrique - good season so far. has been out of form lately. also has to improve this decision making. he struggles against quick wingers but still a very good buy.

Kuyt - not up to his normal standards. he has also stopped scoring goals. move him if a good offer comes.

Henderson - average. he has been played too often and too often in wrong positions. with a bit more confidence he can become a decent box to box midfielder. should give him another season to improve.

Lucas - was our best player until he got injured. hope he returns the same.

Adam - poor. he was bought because he was a dead ball expert, took corners and free kicks well and good at taking penalties. but has done none of this well this season. sell him

Spearing - he is no lucas. distribution is poor. but has a good tackle. keep him

Gerrard - has not been the gerrard we know of. we still depend too much on him. he should not be played too often as he can not put in 100% each week

Downing - i still think he has had a decent season. definitely not as bad as people here think. give him another season

Bellamy - good. but because of his fitness issues can only be considered as a squad player

Carroll - poor. lacks the awareness that is so important for a poacher. should be loaned for a season and then decide

Suarez - has not performed upto his ability. too dependent on him. i would definitely keep him

we need a right winger, some one who can play on both the wings, a striker, a attacking mid, a deep laying playmaker and a goal keeper. we should buy 4 or 5 players and promote a few youths

oldmonk

We need more defensive cover after we score the goals. Attacking is great, but we need to change the midfield in order to hold on the the score.

Ed there were stories this morning that kenny would have to write a report on the season and how he would fix it next year. In these reports it says that kenny is under no immediate pressure to be sacked. Do you think immediate means the next few weeks or means that he won't even go at the end of the season? Surely they won't sack him/keep him based on what he writes in a report {Ed002's Note - My opionion remains that he will see the season out and then will be part of an assessment with the board and owners.}

God they'll be giving him lines next. Why don't they get their lazy arses over here an sort this mess out hands on...

Peter

This is the owners laying the groundwork for Kenny's departure from the manager role.

I really think that Kenny will be moved upstair if we win the fa cup or not at the end of the season!

03 Apr 2012 14:49:38
Is it a mere coincidence that at the beggining of the season without Gerrard and Carra in the side we played nice quick fluent football, we looked settled, no egos, suarez on fire, granted Carroll needed to buck up but aside from a striker and possibly a winger we were as good as anyone in the league...
Losing Agger, Lucas, and Suarez for the ban has been a big miss, then when Gerrard comes back demanding the ball every oppurtunity we stop playing nice quick passing football,
I love the fella as a player and for what hes done for us but weve been a better side this season without him in my opinion
YNWA JFT96

Carra is the worst CB in th PL. He cant tackle, pass, chase back, read play, header, play it out from the back.He cant cross when he plays right back, he has less pace then an 80 year old with a walking stick. Also why was hes son allowed to walk up when we picked up the carling cup.At one stage stevie pushed him out the way he should never have been allowed to be there i dont care whos son you are.

Carra has become a symbol of what is wrong with LFC: a club dominated and run by mediocrities and has beens.

I think Carragher has to much to say in the dressing room and on the pitch! And the poster is right about his son!

03 Apr 2012 14:05:52
Ed001 Do you know if carra will be offered a new contract ? I think its time to let him move on if he wishes to play further. Whats your opinion on him ?

Also most of our signings are getting a lot of stick although I think most of them are decent and some can only improve with age on their side.
I think the major problem we are having is our foriegn quality is not upto the mark.
For instance in the Newcastle game most of their players were as average as ours the only time they looked threatening was when the ball was with ben arfa. While we had kuyt and Maxi (nothing more to say)
if we can replace the like of Kuyt, maxi, aurelio, johnson with some foreign talent which can provide flair (not necessarily a 20+ mil signing) and a decent RB who is not injured most of the time and will not put a clause in his contract saying he will not play RW WE WILL HAVE A DECENT SQUAD TO CHALLENGE FOR 4th
{Ed001's Note - I am not aware of any new contract being likely for Carra, he has another year left on his contract yet anyway. I think it is clear to see that the system we are playing does not suit him. He was great for us for years, it is now time to let him move on to get regular first team footie.}}

What do you make of these 'Kenny has lost the dressing room' accusations, ed001 ?

Not The Real Ken Dodd {Ed001's Note - not convinced myself, there are certainly still a few issues left in the dressing room that need to be dealt with. There are some 'characters' there that are not doing themselves, the club or Kenny any favours. But it is not like Preston, were the players are actively agitating against the coach in an effort to get him sacked.}

03 Apr 2012 14:41:02
Okay Andy Caroll has not delivered yet but it is not all his fault. Put simply LFC dont play to his strengths. It is obvious that if you are going to play him up front you need to deliver the ball into the box. LFC had the opportunity last summer to purchase wingers on both sides with the capabilities of beating players, getting to the goal line and crossing into an area where Carroll can do damage. For how many years have LFC had this philosophy of playing centre midfielders, or strikers out wide. It simply doesnt work we should be going after teams rather than our first priority being negative and hoping not to lose. I dont buy into this argument that players are still bedding in, we bought English players after all, they simply werent good enough as how many of the other top sides were competing with us for their signatures. Carroll/Suarez will work but we urgently need talent out wide and creativity in the middle or we can continue to watch Utd steam away into the distance. PS if the youngsters are good enough give them a go and not just a token 5 minutes at the end of game e.g how old is Oxlade Chamberlain and he is being talked about for England.

Lot true but Carrols woeful. He doesnt wana be here

Agreed caroll hasn't had a great season so far and I have to agree you don't pay 35 million for a player and not play to his strengths (torres is having the same problems, you don't turn bad over night). Plus I think it's frustration that's getting him down not the fact he doesn't want to be there

After reading the stuff John Aldridge is currently putting out about LFC...

I have a legitimate question to all LFC fans...

If John is correct in his blaming the players for the ''Crisis ''

Does this not beg the real question...has KD totally lost the dressing room?

(btw Mancini gets dissent from his players quite often ...however he has been far far more successful in the PL than KD )

Blue247

MMM, i wonder why Mancini has been more successful in the EPL than KD????

Give my nan the Man City squad an she'd also be pretty successful, and she died 11 years ago.

MR EM

In that case give your Nanna (RIP) the current LFC squad then Mr EM...

There would be a significant improvement ...trust me :)))

Blue247

And trust me, you must be very jealous and bitter to spending all this time on our page, worry about your own club and let us worry about ours.

MR EM

'' and let us worry about ours.''

I hate to pour more woes on your woes Mr EM ...
However you guys are just starting the worrying game...Get yourself prepared for a very bumpy road ahead LOL :)))

Of course I have got your replies down as a very firm....... YES ! Thanks

Coates should've played all the games agger was out for, I reckon he'll be better than Carra...Carra was a great player but I think he should slow down and maybe move into coaching, and coates should get a chance to adapting.

03 Apr 2012 14:22:50
Sorry if these have already been answered ed, If we were to sell suarez how much do you think he would go for?

Also is it likely lucas will be back before the end of the season?

Cheers Ed {Ed002's Note - I would not want to guess at what Suarez would sell for. I would have thought that Lucas will not play again this season.}

03 Apr 2012 14:14:45
The Problem with Carroll....

Ok, you buy a player for 35million pounds because you think he is the missing ingredient. He turns out not to be. Whats the issue though? Is it talent? Is it confidence? Style?

Lets take a look.

1. Is he talented enough? this is probably the most debatable point as we have only seen half a season from him in the premiership where he looked good enough. Any player can have a good season (see: James Beattie). The attributes that we saw in that half a season were; power, body strength, and tremendous heading ability. All attributes which seem to have disappeared. I think those are still there and need drawing out a little, which I will get to later.

2. Confidence? Few players can play well with an enourmous price tage around their neck. Even Ballon d'Or winner Kaka only started to play well once the furore over his (then) world record fee had died down. This is not Carroll fault but with such a price comes a heavy expectation. This can be hard on someone confidence, especially someone so young. When he is on the pitch he does not look confident inside the box, he is slow to shoot and lacks conviction when he does. Outside the box though, he seems very confident, happy to keep the ball, wins most of the headers he challenges for and his hold and link up play is generally good.

3. Style? This is probably the easiest to spot. Our style of play simply doesnt match what he is used to, thats not to say he cannot adapt but it does explain why he struggles now. When we press forward he is usually receiving the ball outside the box to lay off for someone else, thats all good if you then have the speed to sprint forward and receive it back. Andy is not that quick so this means he is outside the box when the ball comes back. Whether Dalglish is ordering him to play deep and lay it off or whether he is doing it on his own doesnt matter. What does is that he is told to stay as far forward as possible and be on the end of a move, not at the start of it.

I think this one tactical change will make a world of difference to Carrolls contribution, and it does not require us to stop playing pass and move attacking football. It just requires Carroll to be at the end of it instead of in the middle.

Thanks for reading, comments always welcomed and appreciated.

Nevada

Well said, completely agree with your post. Good to see someone giving a real explanation as to why Carroll may not be in his best form!

I think his positioning is a big problem (I know you mentioned it too). The game against Newcastle, Suarez played a cross at the back post... but Bellamy was there, NOT Suarez. Look at Carroll's header against Brighton (6-1) where Suarez put it in... he got it from the back post. If you look, a lot of the time we score Carroll is waiting at the edge of the box... it REALLY is the wrong place, especially for a number #9 who should be right in the middle of a fight, battling off everyone else and putting the ball into the net.

He did it at Newcastle, but stopped for us for some reason. Is it tactics he's getting told to do? Either way I don't agree with it. I believe he'll improve though, and I believe in Kenny.

Thanks,
Ell.

Lol,"the problem with carroll" theres no problem with AC.hes a 9-10 mil player whos playing like a 7mil player, given a bit of time he might end up playing like a 12mil player, the real prob is the 35mil KD paid for him,i mean would you walk into a shop and pay £1.75 for a kitkat when the bloke before you paid 50p for one, err no,so dont blame the kitkat, you new what you where buying.most other clubs new andy c was just a plain old kitkat but kd thought he would turn into a bar of lindt 90% cocoa, which begs the question, why did kd not just buy a bar of lindt 90% cocoa in the first place as he spent that amount anyway on a kitkat because he thought it would turn into a bar of lindt 90% cocoa,so on that basis, would i trust KDs judgement, err no,would i trust KD with my money, certainly not,"the problem with KD" feck where do start

Whether AC is played deep or as the lead striker, the fact remains, he is a professional footballer on between 50,000 and 100,000 per week. He was bought to score goals. If you are saying he is only able to play if the ball is crossed onto his head and in no other system, then perhaps he should reconsider his position. I'm sure he would be more successful as a defender. As a goal scorer, unfortunately, he's not up to standard.

If you read my post properly you wouldve seen that the only tactical change I suggested was that Carroll stay in and around the box and never drop deeper. We can still pass as before and there is no special requirement for it to be crossed to him, just that he be at the end of moves instead of starting them.

Its also faulty logic to assume that wage is an indicator of ability. Should Ecclestone never have to play well just because he is paid far less? By your rationale you should have been happy for players such as Voronin, or Piechnik (spelling?) to stay and be happy with whatever performance they give because they are paid smaller amounts of money.

Nevada {Ed002's Note - You don't think that Carroll would be offside a great deal?}

Hi Eveyone

Quick ?

What's happened to our motto The league is our bread & butter??

I mean everyone was going about it under rafa but not so much under Kenny.

TheBA300

Spot on mate...
we only just won the CC and people are going on about the FA cup as if we've already won it, and this will be progress.
to actually win FAC we have to win Everton AND THEN one of chelski/&spurs too! it can be done but a tall order.

al these fans saying we've won a trophy after 6yrs...true, but not being in the top 4 as we always were bar one season under rafa simply means less money and not attracting the top players.
torres, mascher, reina, alonso etc only came because of this.

we need to be in that top 4 and be challenging for the top, not scrapping just for 4th.

Rafa knew this and that is why it was always his priority. so even though we never won the cups, we were playing the big euro teams every season, which is 'acceptable'.
ask any fan and they'll all say the same - you'd rather beat real madrid 4-0 or barca in the nou camp than win the CC!

to do that we have to plan for the top 4, possibly sacrificing the CC next year by allowing the kids to play.

I wrote on this site a few weeks ago about how its too soon to start putting faith in the kids.......Oh how i will now eat those words. It really is time to throw a couple of them at the first team, notably sterling, morgan and maybe 1 or 2 more. Last night for the ressies Sterling was superb, caused villa allsorts of problems because as as we know defenders hate players with pace and ability running at them. Give morgan a place on the bench and maybe even suso and Eccleston. What have we got to lose in terms of the league because lets be honest things cant get any worse. In Kenny i trust.
Commolli out

FowlerisGod

I quite agree, particularly as we have absolutely nothing to lose now. Sterling simply has to be at least on the bench. And if KK wants to use a big target man why not throw on Ngoo for a couple of games? I know he's not the finished product but then neither is Carrol (although I certainly think he's 'finished' in another sense). Ngoo has got better control, neater feet and actually wants to play for Liverpool. -SH-

Commoli has been a tower of strength - tall, straight and stony !

Not The Real Ken Dodd

Hey, all blind Kenny lovers,

Heard Roma are interested in Suarez, I won't be surprised if he leaves, in fact all the good players we have, Johnson, Maxi, Kuyt + Reina & Enrique will leave too ... And this Dalglish will buy more Donkey crap,

Look at Roma they are also in a rebuilding process but where are they, they didn't spend as much as we did, they bought young foreign talents for far too much less money and with better out put.

Enough of this patience & Rome wasn't build in a day, time needed, Dalglish is dragging us to mid table beyong limits & excuses,
You folks are deluded just like Dalglish.. you can sing you will never walk alone & remain supporting him as he drags us further down, believe me you won't see that golden sky too soon if Dalglish remains in charge instead it will be storm after storm..

Eds do you think (just your opinion) Jorge Jesus would be a realistic replacement for Dalglish? {Ed002's Note - Perhaps.}

Hi eds,

Do you think the owners will sell key players in the summer ie pepe and suarez if big money is offered.

Thanks

Red raj {Ed002's Note - It will not be as simple as that, but there will be changes in the summer.}

How the f are we gona protect Doni(defence been carp lately)And attack in Semi?

To be fair Doni would probably do a better job then pepe this year

Hate to say it as he's been servant to the club but Carragher needs to be dropped. He's simply not good enough anymore and its time to bite the bullet and either play Coates or Kelly (if fit) at centre back with Srktel until Agger comes back.

Looks like cliques and splits in camp.Old guard too much input.Kenny too close to players, especially old guard

Didnt gerrard and cara have a fight with torres and pepe.thought kk may have got rid of all that.

Yes thats the problem, Kenny to close to old guard, Gerrard and Carra have to go.

Ozone

What crap! Gerrard and Carra, out in the Anfield car park for a dust up with Torres and Pepe. Be serious

The Irish Rover {Ed001's Note - they did fall out with Torres, a number of times.}

Maybe if you were closer Irish Rover yould realise-aint crap-from one who goes!

Gerrard has to go?! Get a grip lad he is still quality!! Some of the things people write!! Carra should retire tho

Taggart when signing players goes into their personnality aswell.Do we do that?Ie.traits, bottle etc

No and it's the main issue with the players we have, especially Carroll who has a typical local lad/ Geordie make up. We havent got the right character in the team and Daglish is too close to the old guard.

wether Dalglish stays or not just has to be huge changes at endve season. It obviously aint working. That includes coaching, scouting, training methods, tactics, and personnel

Agreed, whether KD stays or goes dramatic changes have to be made all around. In a season where liverpool was suppose to be improving on league form, we once again find ourselves leaps and bounds behind our rivals and the prospect of a top four finish. I'd think this unacceptable wouldn't most of you? I agree that the footy we're playing is nicer under KK than it has been in years, but it does not cover up the fact that we need consistent runs of results to get back to top 4 position and that this season has very much been a failure in terms of what goals had been set by the hierarchy. Without the CC this season our situation would be dire. I believe KK is capable of achieving something much greater at this club (as he has proved to us before) with more time and a MAJOR re-evaulation of the potential of his squad and match tactics during the summer, however; I'm afraid to say FSG won't be so lenient in their decisions due to the apparent "crisis" we are in once again at this later stage of the season.

03 Apr 2012 12:35:19
I've supported LFC all my life (i'm 38).... i'm normally upbeat about our team and love it more than anything....BUT i'm really worried now. I can see dark times ahead. We have a manager who can't decided what his best team is...tactics that aren't working...players that we all expect great things from (because stupidly we paid over the odds)....a few oldies that we can't rely on any more....a good goal keeper that is destined to leave this summer...a striker that just keeps hitting the woodwork but everyone things he's amazing (he's not consistent enough) and to top it all....Man Utd are going to win the league.....

All the rumours and suggestions on here about who we buy next are pointless...i can't see them coming AT ALL....

Finally...did anyone else think KK humiliated Carroll on Sunday (of all the places to sub him)...i did, thought it was bang out of order.

''Man Utd are going to win the league..... ''

It gets worse the Toffees have spent virtually f@(k all compared and you have to look up to them in the PL...
with the world looking on in amazement and disbelief ...
I quote words aimed at Chamberlain ...'' You have sat too long here for any good you have been doing.''

hi eds, will kenny be manager next season your thouhgts and if not will the new manager get same funds as kenny did?

sparky {Ed002's Note - I don't think so and no.}

ED's I actually hope that KD will still be in charge of LFC next season as does most Evertonians... Utd fans...et al imho...

The current feeling (general consensus) throughout the non LFC fans I speak with
is KD is well and truly past his sell/use by date.
My own nightmare scenario is that you lot get as a replacement like Jose or at least someone who has more of a feel for the modern game.

Blue247

It's a well worn joke about other supporters being happy with our manager. And then you follow it by mentioning how much we've spent and how little you have....boring. Get some new material! You could always ask the United fans, now that you are getting all pally with them. Bluenoses brown nosing the Mancs? Is it because they let you have their cast offs? eg. Neville, Gibson.
But you don't spend have to spend money, do you?

"Kenny Dalglish will be asked to submit a written report on Liverpool's shortcomings during a disappointing Premier League campaign as part of an urgent end-of-season review by the club's American owners."

Translation: Dalglish will be asked to tender his resignation.

Write a report and you are sacked cop on

03 Apr 2012 11:29:27
One thing I do believe, KK will not resign nor will he be sacked. FSG and KK will review the season after the semi, should we lose, or at the end of the season. At that point they will announce the next stage. It will be controlled to instill confidence as a club with a positive attitude to a way forward. Not a Chelsea way with instant dismissals. FSG will not allow their investment to be seen as chaotic and disorganised.
Until then, support the club and try to understand that everyone is trying to be positive. If you are LFC this is the only way forward.

I know you are all rueing the day you wasted 35m on Andy Carroll BUT i bet you cant keep up with him at the Bar. Enjoy him cos we love the team we built with his 35m. Thank you Mr Dalglish, paying a little back for ruining our team all them years ago. Oh by the way, it was Keegans team that finished 2nd and runners up in cup final, Dalglish managed it, then destroyed it the season after. AND i bet you that its first time a team went to wembley to draw! The man is a fake.

Sounds like a bitter geordie

Yes, at the moment, Carroll looks like a regrettable signing but we have to live with it. But let your feelings toward Dalglish go. He was Newcastle a long time ago and he was just doing a job.
And don't give me all that about Keegan; he spends fortunes and doesn't deliver what he should. He's a fantasy football manager- he needs loads of money to sign 'names', then walks away, leaving a team that needs to be re-built.
I'd give it a go keeping up with Carroll at the bar, though!
Rigsby.

Nope not a bitter geordie, just trying to wake you deluded scousers from your past glories, as every ground in the country now sings, `` Your not famous any more``

He's not the only one that says that though. Asprilla did an interview a week ago saying that Kenny broke up the team that Keegan built and that many players didnt enjoy playing for him.

Nevada

I guess KK didn't care for Newcastle in the same way he does for Liverpool. A bit like me really :)

Newcastle fan..43 years without a trophy and wants to have a pop at us...ha ha laughable

But we're not deluded! That's just a cheap, lazy dig. Read some of the posts on here. Most are unhappy with things and realise our situation isn't good at all.
Some perhaps go too far with their feelings and comments about the club.
But the fact is, we are where we are because we deserve to be. We're not top four, anymore and we all want things to improve; that's delusional.
But we're still famous enough for other clubs to sing about us and for you to post on here.
Even if it's to give us stick, you just can't forget about us!
Rigsby.

Hey geordie boy , you have never been famous anytime , your a regional club , that will never be known worldwide , better being has beens , as never -was..............lfc

Newcastle wont ever have your not famous anymore sang about them as theyve never been famous EVER !

Never ever go on the Newcastle,Chelsea, Spurs sites, why would any one bother with any of them? All of them remind me of "You only sing when your winning!"
kidmillions

Bit rich from a liverpool fan talking about other fans, your fans are appauling, never sing or anything unless your team is winning hypocrits, all the press and pundits go on about the newcastle fans never stop singing and then they try an dsay it about liverpool fans aswell haha what a joke you never ever hear anything from your fans unless you score no passion, fair enough you used to have good fans but now you are pathetic haha the whole country laughing at you
Geordie Jonty

Geordie boy , your club wanted to be liverpool thats why you got kenny , keegan , barnes etc and your players wanted to be reds , barny , terry mac , beardlsey etc even gascoine untill venables told him he would not get into the reds team so he signed for spurs.
best wishes to the magpies wunabe kopites

Agreed geordie, and do ya know whats funny, the scousers slag of chelsea,m-city supporters for being plastics when almost every scouser between the ages of 28 and 50 are all plastics, its easy to support a team when there winning isnt it boys,so maybe in future you will keep your traps shut regarding plastic fans lmao

If Liverpool were to go after 5 players (which Macca has said we're 'trying' to) who would they be for you, and how much would you pay? I'm trying to think of realistic options but to be honest I don't know who! What would your choices be? Just a bit of fun! Realistic answers though please, no Ozil's etc.

Thanks.
Ell.

Well with Dalglish`s history i could imagine the 5 being,
Ameobi (newcastle) 25m
Bramble (sunderland) 20m
Craddock (wolves) 10m
Fuller (stoke) 10m
Nzogbia (villa) 30m
follows his excellent Donkey buying system.

YNWA

Mauricio Isla - £10m
Mehdi Benatia - £10m
Kevin Strootman - £10m
Dres Mertens - £15m
Roberto Soldado - £20m

We have enough English carp to fill the quota, time to sign real talent!

YNWA! (Adam)

CB RB: raul albiol
AM CM: esteban granero
LB LWB LM LWF CM RM: juan vargas
AM RW: ryad boudebouz or G.ramirez
ST: fabio quagliarella - LOAN

this group of players would cost around 55-60m euro and WOULD get us top 4 next season.

out
kuyt - fabio quagliarella
maxi - ryad boudebouz
aurelio - juan vargas
johnson - (KELLY), but raul albiol can also cover along with flanagan

reina
kelly, skrtel, agger, enrique
boudebouz, gerrard?, lucas, vargas
suarez
quagliarella

doni, albiol, coates, granero, downing, bellamy?, carroll

adam, henderson, spearing, carra to fight for the right to be in the team.

question mark on the players that i'm not sure could to be in the squad all the time due to inconstancy.

Now that's what I call depth

I think it's

Ryan's boudeboux
Gaston Ramirez
Luuk de Jong
Sissoko
5th maybe arbloa.

Stuff fsg lol, i demand an explanation, im suffering minor heart attacks watching liverpool lol

badger

To be fair to the owners thats the very least they should expect, this has been a very disappointing season tosay the least, if Liverpool were to win the FA cup that would take some of the sting off it but still a poor season. The target was 4th and we've fallen well short, maybe it was to much to expect considering the squad is being rebuild after the mess it was left in by previous managers (that means Rafa!).
Maybe Kenny wont be in charge after the summer as Ed002 has suggested but that doesn't mean you cant support him for the rest of the season. The players need your support now more than ever, there is no confidence in the team and booing will only make things worse. The Villa game at Anfield this weekend needs to be treated like a cup final by the fans because if we lose i really don't know where the club goes from there, so lots of singing! And anyone with tickets who is going to sit there quiet and wait for something to boo about sell your tickets.

always a red

That maybe true about rafa but he had to have been a hell of a motivator to get those players to over achieve like that for two seasons.

I just hope that LFC are able to hang onto their better players (granted there are not many in the team).
I do see the 'vultures' circling eyeing out the injured animal that is LFC presently.

Just hope we don't 'throw the baby out with the bathwater!'.

No disrespect but you haven't got anything really, gerrards getting on, was a great player and still is a very good player, but too old for the top sides, suarez is seen as a petulant racist (thats how teams would view him) as for a return on goals its quit pour, you do have a couple of good youngsters, although I'm told, still, that sterling is itching to get away! you have kelly, it certainly wouldn't suprise me if united rattled his cage? I'm sure he will be another carragher? Will spend his years at liverpool but will be a better defender! Other than that you have a centre half thats mostly injured and a keeper thats lost form! & then nothing really?

'throw the baby out with the bathwater!'. Thats no way to talk about KK

F**k a written report the owners need to go to specsavers they like stats here are some for you moneyball lovers

win percentage 17% makes steve kean look good

Form table - 2nd bottom Embarrasing like kennys tactics

Cost per point this season - 1.7 million

Ammount of points for money spent in total
Worst in europe in all leagues in the uk, spain, italy, every country Kenny has the worst points return for money spent.

Put that in you report Kenny the worst manager in Liverpool's PL history.

I have no faith in this man, the coaches, the players he has signed or the owners for not sacking him. He is not just the worst manager in england he is the worst in europe. Plymouth have won more games in 2012

The owners, the manager nor anybody else has bought players based on "moneyball".
All this talk about moneyball in football is nonsense.
I am a Kenny fan but you have to realise the players Liverpool have bought have been the players Kenny wanted to buy.

Juve have been fantastic this season.
Built a great stadium (which they own) with a shoPping mall and entertainment centre.
Obviously realised that multiple revenue streams are far better than just football related ones.
Stadium is fantastic (visited it recently), yes its small, but supporter experience is the most important thing, you are very close to the pitch and action.
The combination of stadium and other facilities provides employment to many.
I salute Juve on their initiatives.

Some posters need to re-watch the Gerrard/Dalglish incident after Pepe got sent off. It's on youtube and it quite clearly shows Gerrard telling KK that he will take Enrique's position on the right. There's no dissent as some people are suggesting

cozinoz

Does anyone remember earlier in the season, when we got battered 4-0 at Spurs? Skrtel got sent off and Dalglish was preparing to bring on Wilson to play right back (where Skrtel had played). Carragher could clearly be seen mouthing the word "Jordan, Jordan" to Kenny and Henderson duly went on to play right back. It seems our senior players do have a lot of say but there's nothing wrong with that, within reason.
Rigsby.

This was just people trying to make something out of nothing. It was obvious at the time that Gerrard was only trying to do his best for Kenny. It beats me why people always try to find another angle to some situations.

The Irish Rover

It also clearly show Gerrard telling Kenny to go with a hand gesture as well as the words used. But I dont think its dissent , as I see it a quick conversation and Gerrard telling kenny not to worry they understand what to do and he does n't need to be on the pitch.
Roy

No he was just saying yeah iknow what you are going to say but i was already going to do that so get off.

It was embarrassing to see Kenny storm onto the football pitch.

03 Apr 2012 10:20:16
Dalglish must take the blame for the mess he has us in this season. His lazy decision not to buy a striker in jan was the last straw for me when the dogs on the street knew we obviously needed one.i don't want to hear people go on about there was no decent strikers available.look at the bargin newcastle got.he has wasted 35m on carroll 20 on henderson and 20 on downing.who in their right mind would give this buffoon money to spend in the summer. He continues to play spearing and carragher even though neither are fit to play pub football. The summer cant come quick enough so he can get the blood.we won't win the fa cup.all we have is the carling cup which is worthless.so long kenny don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya.

Who would you be playing instead of carragher and spearing? everyone else is injured!

And what if there was no money to buy anyone?

03 Apr 2012 10:18:47

I'd agree with that

RedIndian

That team will only happen on your playstation

Eriksen for 18 million? Is there a 50% discount this summer?
Indian Buzzer

Why the pessism? If you lot think that the only players we're gonna buy are the likes of Matt Phillips, I'd advise you to support someone else because LFC the name is capable of buying a lot better players than that in the summer.

03 Apr 2012 10:07:47
I would just like to pint to Juventus. They finished 7th last season spent money in summer got some gr8 buys and look where they are now, challenging for the title. So people saying that the manager and players need time are not long way off but atleast we should have got to top four. This is unacceptable. I am from India and every person here supports Man Utd. If this goes on our gr8 club will lose it's supporter. Kenny should leave because even if we look at earlier performances in the season we were good but not a gr8 side. Kenny's buys have been very poor and his blatantly defending wrong decisions of his is very shameful. We need a top European manager with proven record. and don't tell me it's not possible, money can do anything. Look at malaga and players they got on monetary power even Juventus and PSG. We need players too. Our sumer buys can prove to be good squad players but not first team players. We had Alonso Mashcerano Torres and look what we have now..

We can't compete with top clubs with our sub standard players and their weak mentality. Coaching staff is to be blamed too if we manage to assemble a very good coaching staff we would see these same players giving there hearts out on the field..

But we definitely need changes..

Musicnation

Mate i am from India too. the most important thing is that our club needs time and support.
i am also taking a stick from my fellow friends who support other clubs, but it doesn't hamper me in terms of supporting our beloved club, rather makes me feel stronger that in difficult times we never walk alone as is the history of the club.
we will definitely sign some good squad players this summer and next season will be good for us. but we still have got F A cup to play for and perhaps the best time for our youngsters to have some good game time. don't loose hope. YNWA .
there is never a shortage of fans as far as our beloved club is concerned.
hims_red

Guys hold on ..I too am from india..and reds fan for life..but we are actually in mess...we say money cant buy success..but can utell me a side..who has won without money?
we had the money and we wasted beautifull..the ed was supporting henderson like he is gonna be the next picture in our flag..he willl never and has never being a top player...downing for me is unlucky..he runs fast upto oppostion area..and the nsolw down and give back to our midfield...never have any trick of his own..compared to lenon, young, nani, valencia...
we are really in mess..its been 3 yeasr waiting...how much more?

Juve have been rebuilding since their little spat with the law a few years back. we've been rebuilding for 1 season, let's give it a little time...

Every season since 08 09 we've been rebuilding!

03 Apr 2012 09:26:29
liverpool need to stick with Shelvey from now on,he can only get better with more games, drop hendo, carra, adam, downing and play coates, sterling, suso drop carroll give robinson a chance

Agree with Shelvey atleast. I think some chances should be given to Downing and Hendo in his preferred position. He is **** at right. 2nd half as a sub would be nice reg Hendo. and it'd always be nice to see some youngsters getting chances. YNWA

Everyone is being negative and calling for KK to be sacked, right?
When we beat Everton and reach the final it'll be a different story!
David Moyes claims Everton are the underdogs.....they are the in form team at the minute and we, aren't :@
Do you know why he has said that!? Because when Liverpool are the underdogs we destroy teams! 2005 and 2007 Champions league finals the whole way through the other team was the favourite
This season playing Utd, Chelsea etc? Underdogs!
Wigan, wolves, Bolton? Favourites!

Anyone agree?

Kenny does not deserve to be at liverpool he has a worse record then woy he will be sacked just watch. The worst liverpool manager in living memory

It's not about being underdogs or favourites, we simply cannot break teams down consistently when they come and park the bus.

It's not rocket science, wish everyone would stop over analyzing and criticising every single player and the Management
Simple! we need a Goalsorer! goals change games; breed confidence, stop your midfield players snatching at chances, the team mentality is better, you always think your in with a chance, you have that goalscorer in the side. How many times do you hear "THE SIGN OF A GOOD SIDE IS WINNING WHEN YOU DON'T PLAY WELL"
Well you still need to put the ball in the net to do that. Were actually the opposite we play teams off the park and lose or draw.
Any player forward or midfield signed in the Summer must have an eye for Goal.
We've got enough assistants and defenders.
kidmillions

Totally agree, have been saying so for months
KJS

What we need are the sort of goals that Valencia scored last evening. There is no way that that was intended.
DM2012

Are you dumb or somthing Kenny spent 55 million on 2 forwards he should not be given another penny he is not fit to be a manager

Exactly just how many million more do you want to spend on forwards? Suarez, Carroll & Bellamy brought in for almost £60m and still no goals. Would you trust Kenny with say another £20-£30m in this department?

Gav

Wow i wish you were manager instead of kd kid millions. you have all the answers don't you! you, a person who supports a top football club and has no experience managing it on a high level, provide a "simple" explanation to a problem that is inherently more complex than that. what happens if we do as you say and fork out multi millions on a goalscorer and, like before, they do not perform and flop? It is up to the management, my friend, to get that player in a position to score goals after all isn't it?

Morning all.

Just wondered what people's thoughts are about Doni?

Can't say that I've ever seen him play if he impresses would Kenny have the bottle to keep him in the side at the expense of below par Reina?

Could it be the beginning of the end for the spaniard?

Thoughts...

Jack the Groove

Considering Doni hasn't played a proper game (incl Cup games) I doubt that he is anyway near to the calibre of Pepe.

Doni should of been played in the carling cup early rounds?

Hi kidmillions - the word is 'have' not 'of been'. As your grammar is so great here is one for you: yyuryyubicuryy4me - glasgow kiss, ex-Scottish Centre-Half, ex-England wicketkeeper.

Everyone seems to be ripping into kenny and comolli, but surely steve clarke has got to take a majority of the blame aswell hes coaches the team and works with them more than kenny.I think we lack a motivater on staff i know they shouldnt need it as pulling on that red shirt should be plenty motivation but its obviously not at the momement.Someone like Didi Haman could work in this role and be a big help to the squad.

KENNY DALGLISH will be asked to submit a written report on Liverpool's shortcomings during a disappointing Premier League campaign as part of an urgent end-of-season review by the club's American owners.

Dalglish's position is not under any immediate threat but Fenway Sports Group (FSG) want answers as to why the club's league form has unravelled so alarmingly. They are languishing in eighth place following six defeats in seven matches, the latest at Newcastle on Sunday.

The debrief will also extend to Dalglish's assistant, Steve Clarke, and director of football Damien Comolli, who will be asked to provide their own evaluation.

Liverpool's season has been split in two, success-wise.

They have struggled in the league but have won the Carling Cup and have an FA Cup semi-final against Everton at Wembley to come on April 14.

They will also be asked for ways of correcting the imbalance that has left Dalglish's first full season back in charge under intense scrutiny.

Kenny Dalglish has been asked to explain the club's form on paper

The fact that FSG, founded by Liverpool principal owner John W Henry and chairman Tom Werner, are looking to include Dalglish in discussions as they plot the shoots of recovery illustrates that there is no particular appetite to sack him. Liverpool's current sequence of league results is their worst since 1953-54 and it would require the downturn to worsen considerably for the Americans' stance to alter.

FSG acknowledged when they bought Liverpool in October 2010 that restoring the club to their former glories would not be easy but are convinced they have the business and sporting acumen to oversee a renaissance.

The review into a season that could still end with Dalglish winning two trophies represents one of a number of measures they are expected to implement.

Report Fom today's Paper's {Ed002's Note -

At least FSG are taking a measured approach unlike some of our fans! Yes, the club should be accountable but they also need to be afforded time to turn it around. Patience!

Chris Bascombe wrote this. As a comment on the Telegraph page suggests, this fat-headed traitor lost all respect from Liverpool fans. He's just like the rest of them (including the Liverpool Echo) who continue to add fuel to the fire for brownie points. There's a lot of bitter journalists out there craving for a piece of Anfield 'inside-info' yet no-one knows anything as Kenny and his staff are tight lipped. John Aldridge continues to do the same today in his column...another ex-player with his back up in the air. Don't read the rags....dont't read the Echo.

DaveyBootle

If this is to be the case, and kenny gets to review every man, boy and his dog at LFC, then who may I ask, will actually review Kenny's performance in the mess that is season 2011/2012?

Steve

I think if LFC's owners take a real '' measured approach''
They will have an in depth check on KD's antecedents and perhaps come to the conclusion that when the going gets tough, Kenny F@(ks off...
Lets face it he is there as a sop for the fans...
The time of appeasement will eventually come to an end when the fans realize KD is out of his depth in the modern game.

Blue247

The owners strike me as intelligent men and willing to play The Long Game! and so should we as supporters. Just look at the young players we have coming through? Have patience and we will reap the rewards!

after watching the young guns last nite beat villa and seeing the likes of sterling, suso play. why are we not giving the lads a try. they are what we need. i know there young but how much tme do they need they can only get better the more you mix them with the first team. time is running out for kk and as much as i want him to stay lets face facts its not looking likely unless he can pull something out of the bag.

Did you watch Shelvey on Sunday? No protection for Enrique which left hime exposed. I for one was not impressed with his showing.

iggypop

Why should Shelvey playing center mid have to protect Enrique? Flat 442 leave Gerrard hold and Shelvey get forward - two wingers who can get up and down and carroll and suarez up top. Sick to death of tactics changing everyweek, IT ISN'T WORKING!

I would like to start by saying that KK is my idol. The man is Mr Liverpool and it breaks my heart to read and listen to some of the hurtfull comments that are being directed at Kenney. The man deserves better he loves this club with every fibre in his body. So to read comments on this site from armchair supporters who are bairly out of nappies it makes me sick. Now to that end do I think we should blindly follow Kenney in the hope that he can turn things around. Well the simple answer to that is no. I posted on here a few days ago that I was on the fence with regards to KK staying on as manager. But the more I think about it the more I am thinking he should be moved on. I know people bang on about Rome not being built in a day and KK needs time. People are also making comparisons about Ferguson and how utd gave him time. But lets face facts football has changed over the past 20yrs and for a team like Liverpool to be so far behind teams like Spurs and Newcastle is just not good enough. In Kenney we trust! Really! Do you really trust KK to get it right in the summer? If so on what evidence because lets be honest his buys have been awfull to say the least. There is not one fan out there if in KK's shoes would have spent 35 mil on Carroll, 20 mil on Downing or 17 mil on Henderson. Average players at best. Now some fans are saying we are buying for the future mmmmmmmmmmmm. I think with the outlay of almost 52 million on AC and JH you expect them to at least have a bit of an impact, and if you think these players are the future then good luck. Lets face it our bread and butter has to be the lge and we are light years away at present. The longer we are out of the champions lge the harder it will be to get back. As a club we need to bite the bullet and bring in a top, top manager and give him the funds he needs to rebuild. It sounds crazy to think that we need to rebuilb after the money that's been spent last summer, but I'm afraid that is the position we are in.

You've got bluenoses agreeing with you :(
"Oh Dear!"

Football comes in cycles, no team what so ever deserves to be a champion, its worked for, its earned and then deserved, lets take what you said about spurs, not using weird for word, but you said its not right for liverpool to be so far behind spurs! could they have not said the same in the late seventies early eighties? They were first to complete the elusive double! They were first to conquer europe, ecwc, had it not been for some diabolical referring they would have been the first to win the european cup, spurs are I believe one of two teams to win a trophy in the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's & the 00's, if your young ask your dad grandad about their teams of the 60's early 70's, they had somegreat teams in the 80's as well..show some respect when mentioning other teams, newcastle have had some great teams never able to add silverwear, they have had great players other teams have plundered, macdonald, beardsley, waddle, gascoigne, ginola etc so once again respect other teams and know one absolutely know one its top assume they should always be worthy of success

03 Apr 2012 04:28:14
6 loss no worries, we have a carling cup and we are a semi finalist in FA cup, we made it to europa, the only thing we need to do is to avoid relegation. kk should have signed players in jan transfer market, he shouldnt have been that stubborn for settling wid the team, its after the jan transfer market we are loosing our form or lets say other teams being better, look at new castle they bought cisse and they won because on him, we didnt even give youngsters a chance, i hope mistake like this shouldne be made and kk should be more open minded. hope he gives us a premier league next season

redh0t

We have some great youngsters coming through and they will be thinking their time and opportunity is getting closer and closer so to go out and buy someone maybe not as good for the short term fix would only serve to deflate their ambitions: If were going to have an academy we have to be patient and leave space in the squad for them to step into: Playing the Long Game as the Americans say, I feel, will bring us success instead of the short term fix we've been attempting for years.

Relagation and liverpool should never be in the same sentence.

The worrying part is that kenny still thinks this team can challenge for the title next season. He has lost the plot.

if suso and sterling are not atleast on the bench this weekend i am going to loose alot of the respect i have left for kenny he has nothing to loose now.. can guarantee that if they are on the bench they still wont get a sniff .. has to be annoying for them knowing they are better than most of the players starting never mind the subs.. looking forward to seeing doni play hope he does well..

People mentioning certain managers they'd like to see take charge for next season,, that's fair enough.
But why dear god are some fans throwin Brendan Rodgers name into the hat???
Havin one good season and keepin Swansea from gettin relegated is apparently enough to become the Liverpool manager now?
They didnt even win the Championship last year, they finished 3rd.
For gods sake did we not already learn our lesson, if you hire a manager just because he's doing well with a smaller club you get a Roy Hodgson incident all over again.
Atleast when we hired Benitez he had already won La Liga, and not with Barcelona or Real Madrid, but with Valencia of all teams.

Marcela Beilsa would be my number 1 choice, just look at how Athletic Bilbao play football and what they did to United in Europe. This guy is an absolute Icon in Argentina and Chile where he was national team coach and he's seen as Pep Guardiola's strongest influence when it comes to the style of Barcelona's play.

This is the kind guy we should be goin after,, not the god damned Swansea manager.

Could not agree more. Liverpool should be looking for the very best not one season wonders.

I totally agree with this post to me rodgers can go to spuds, and would love to have KLOPP, BEILSA or MOURINHO as they are naturally gifted yes Jose is hit and miss with the fans, but we definately need to change it around and soon and lets play some of the younger lads, Coady and Sterling and also Suso played good last night time to see how they handle the pressure of the EPL

My shortlist would be Unai Emery, Antonio Conte (Unrealistic I know) and Michael Laudrup

And exactly how do you know Rogers is a one season wonder? Is it next season yet?

Klopp is far and away first choice for me. No-one else is even close. Bielsa's team is nowhere close to top of La Liga.

The way Rafa came out in the Echo last week and said he'd wait ten year's to manage LFC again and his love for the club etc! i think that it's all PR related! that the owner's endorsed that interview! I'm putting a bet on Rafa being manager next season!

I have seen earlier answers but,
Eds I would like to know your honest opinion on dalglish.
Is he doing a great job?
Have his signings been good?
Do you think he should stay or leave?

{Ed002's Note - My "honest opinion" was contained in those earlier answers. It hasn't changed.}

The future is very bright. I believe Liverpool reserves moved 2nd today in their group. Good job young reds! Many of you deserve to be playing for the first team. Rodolfo is a great manager but I would hate to see him move up to full time management because of how useful he is with these youngsters. One of the best youth managers around for sure! Can't wait to see Texeira.

I would just like to address the issue of Dalglish vs Hodgson from my perspective, which might explain to people who can't understand why people are willing to give Dalglish more time than Hodgson.

For me, I wanted them both to succeed, but more so Dalglish due to his affiliation with the club.

Results were/are poor for both - Hodgson went, Dalglish is still here.

It wasn't just the results for me that meant people wanted Hodgson out - the guy had no passion for the club, no spine to support/defend his players and the club to the media or rivals. He was never going to get full respect from fans and players, let alone retain that level of respect.

Only a fool would think that Dalglish doesnt do what he thinks is right for the club. We should all be able to believe that this man has the club's best interests in mind. That does not mean his idea's will work out, as has shown this season, but his commitment and ethos towards the club can not be questioned.

That is why I believe people are willing to give Dalglish time - he has the same passion to be successful as what we do - he is LFC through and through like we are. He will never walk away from the club so people asking him to stand down of his own accord is ridiculous. With anFA Cup semi around the corner, he would never drop the club in to that situation. If the owners came in and sacked him, I am sure he would apologise for his failings and walk away with dignity.

Poor results this year - a big part of those i believe are Dalglish's fault - signings haven't worked out this year, tactics questionable at times etc, but I have never doubted that he has done what he thinks best, because of his evident pride in LFC - that is something I could never have said about Hodgson.

For the record, I am indifferent on the Dalglish issue - no man is bigger than LFC, even Dalglish. I want what is right for LFC and I am willing to admit that I don't have a clue if that is with or without our current boss,

Maybe people will understand why some supporters are willing to stand by Dalglish in this tough time, when Hodgson wasn't afforded the same support.

Or, maybe they still won't understand!

LIVERPRES

Very well put, Liverpres. Roy Hodgson played dull, negative football AS WELL AS not getting the results. I've enjoyed most of the games this season despite our recent poor run which I couldn't say while Roy was in charge.

Liverpress you have hit the nail on the head mate well said.

The fifth official is a bit of a duck, but it is still a funny read, even though it mocks our once-glorious

A football farce
But in this weekend of meltdowns, there is only place to start as Kenny Dalglish served up more entertainment for the folk of Tyneside in 90 minutes on Sunday than he did in the entirety of his miserable spell in charge of the club back in the late 90s. This was a public humiliation of epic proportions, as a baying mob lanced the boil on years of frustration and lapped up every last strand of despair to befall the King. It was a stage show farce so acutely amusing it should get its own three-month run on Broadway.

This is the man who signed two of Newcastle's best players for a combined sum of £41 million last year but now trails them by 11 points in the table. Chief protagonist, of course, was Andy Carroll, a man so bereft of confidence he has now taken to falling over instead of taking his chances at rolling the ball into an empty net from ten yards. His feckless flop got him a rocket from the gaffer that sold him before the home fans saluted his substitution like a Papiss Cisse goal. Kenny's reward for hauling Carroll off was a bucket of sweary language. Word has it Carroll was actually aiming to head for the bench but missed and ended up striding down the tunnel instead.

But the final, gloriously funny act was still to come as a bewildered Kenny wandered onto the playing field after Pepe Reina's Eskimo kiss with James Perch only to be told to sit down and shut up by an irate Steven Gerrard. Reina staggered back onto the pitch to offer out "Perchinho" and bestow an oversized jersey and pair of gloves on Jose Enrique who sheepishly trudged into nets as 50,000 half-naked Geordies sang at him "You should have stayed at a big club."

An even heartier rendition of "You're getting sacked in the morning," bookended a desperate day at the office for a club that have now, beyond all doubt, become a laughing stock.

:

Dalglish finished 2nd in the Prem with Newcastle , following season they played Barcelona of the park in the Champions league, lost to Arsenal in the Fa Cup Final.
Finished midway in the league.
Bet Pardew never gets any where near that with the ever under acheiving toon

Kenny is clearly out of touch. Seems to have no idea what system to play let alone our best starting line up. He is becomming an embarressment. Walking off mid interview, ambling onto the pitch after the red card. I agree with earlier poster about kevin keen, big Sami hypia's shoul of been brought in as a coach in summer. Couln't understand how it took kenny so long to make a sub when we were 2.0 down. The subs were warming up for what seemed an age and he didn't make a change until it wad too late. Why no sterling on the bench? We were crying out for someone like that with pace and no fear? Remember when owen came on the scene when we were 2.0 down v Wimbledon? Would you trust kenny with more money? Aside from wasting millions last summer, remember this is the man who gave us jimmy carter and David speedie! He destroyed an attack minded Newcastle after keegan left, signing gems like carl serrant, Des Hamilton and top striker stephane guivarc'h! He seems to be losing the team now and all respect he once had. We are becomming a laughing stock. If the unthinkable happened and we don't beat villa on Saturday kenny must do the decent thing and walk. We're stuck in the habit of losing games and that's a hard habit to get out of. If he were to stay we will not beat everton. A new man needs to come in until the end of the season to give morale a much needed boost. Then a permanent appointment can be made. Not sure who we'd get. What about a crazy one like kevin keegan? Could give the players a much needed lift and would certainly play the attacking football we crave! I'm certain he'd get more out of gerrard and Carroll indeed stevie had nothing but high praise for keegan in his autobiography.

When are we going to learn.......... What Jh and FSG going to do ? Are we in safe hands? Do we still want a new manager ? Do we need a new manager in the first place? What we do with the non performing players?

Get real, do you think anything will happen before the fa cup game with everton? why didnt you name all the good players he signed. your another Rafa man, zonal defending , constant rotating of players!

Kenny needs to get rid of the tracksuit and get his suit back on. We were playing much better when he was suited up on the touchline!

Yes, how about a white suit with a red and white tie like the '96 Wembley spice boy suites? Sexy no? ..ohh ahhh Cantona!

Eric Banterna x

Who cares what KK wears ......................I want the players to do the talking on the pitch !!!!

He needs to step down. As much as i hate to say it, he has lost the battle against whiskey nose badly.
Indian Buzzer

The battle may have been lost but the war is just beginning

cozinoz

You might laugh at that suit comment but an american sports psychologist did a study which showed that teams with a manager who wears a suit are more likely to win. He attributed it to the fact that a manager in a suit is seen as more of a professional and so players are more likely to see them as an authority figure...think of all the successful managers of recent years.

Guardiola
Mourinho
Fergie
Wenger
Ancelotti
Benitez

any of them wear tracksuits? {Ed002's Note - I have regularly seen Ancelotti in a track suit at games. There are no manufacturers who make big enough track suits for Benitez of course.}

I think the tracksuit looks awful , Every Liverpool Manager should wear a suit , its been at the back of my mind for abit how bad it looks so un-professional plus the suit hid his stomach :P

When Ancelotti won champs league at milan and league and cup atchelsea...he wore...a suit.

03 Apr 2012 00:00:46
The players seemed careless and looked like they gave up already at 1-0! They did not even try! Thats not showing heart, and does not seems like the Liverpool Way! Do you guys think they deserve to wear the famous shirt? We fight for the club, why don't they? Danieldenmark

Why do you think they are not fighting for the club? The players don't want to loose, they just do not have the quality to do well in the league. It is not complex, it is honestly that simple!

If players gave up when we are 1-0 down ......It is not worthy of playing for LFC. Improve improve improve improve
If we lose or draw with Villa ...........god bless us

Too many draws and losses when weve been the better team and should have won.. whether thru bad luck, refs decisions or just unable to score.. has now created a lack of confidence in the team, they dont beleive they will/can win regardless of what they do or how well they play... out of frustration some drop there heads and give up,. the rest try too hard and make mistakes..this season just needs to end so we can get it out of our system and move on!
Weve had a good year.. not a great one,. but a good one with one cup already under our belts.. chance for another one still..

Hope the board see sense in the summer and realise that commolli being at the club simply isn't working! Surely he too has to take some responsibility for the state we're in. Was amazed he was ever appointed given his record at spurs (with exception of gareth bale)

He had nothing to do with gareth bale all he did was to watch him sign a contract! He never found him nore did he ever go & watch him!

So you want to get ride of comolli the guy who just did his job by getting the players kenny wanted? right because that will sort out the problem of poor signings.

We all know that downing was signed as he could kick a ball into a bin so....
Sums up our transfers really

Got to feel for big andy Carroll. I still believe he can come good. He was slated yesterday by the toon fans who once adored him and clearly this got to him. I think he was our best player during the first half. Showing aggression and passion, clearly he is so frustrated he just has no service at all. We have no width, we're playing so narrow, there's no quick crossing, and the players we've brought to provide him with the crosses he craves have been nothing short of shocking. Downing far too inconsistent, but why not play him on his favoured left sided role? Adam is woeful, yet to see him beat first man taking any set piece. Last season he was simply an average player in a poor Blackpool team. Henderson paid a ridiculous fee for such an unproven player who is now totally out of his depth. At sunderland he did nothing after winning his first england cap. Maybe he'll come good given time. The best crosser we have is Stevie G get him on the right to get the crosses in. Against the toon back in December the potential was there for all to see. Andy can't play in the system we play currently. Play to strengths. Pace down wings and quick crosses in. He will come good. It's no wander he stormed off like that yesterday, the service was terrible he just wants the chance to prove he can be a success. Still don't know why he didn't take a chance when clean through tho. Remember his display v man city last season and v everton the other week? He can do it given the chance and playing to suit his strengths. Come on, get behind him on Saturday and watch him score!

I actually felt sorry for Andy Carroll as well. Why did the oaf "King Kenny" substitute him, and humiliate him in front of Newcastle supporters. Another example of insensitive management by your out of touch Manager.

I think the stick that andy took at newcastle may just help us, the lad is a newcastle fan through and through and what he got was not warented in my opinion ,just got this gut felling if us lfc fans start showing him some love he may see were his new aligaince is

martin p

To be honest, I didn't understand the NUFC fans reaction at all. Why the apparent vitriol for Andy? He played well for them, didn't really want to leave near as I can tell, but when he did left behind 35M which helped fund the much stronger side they now have. I would have thought some clapping for him may have been in order not jeering.

RDL

I dont have any probns wit handy carroll...but he is not the man liverpool needed..doesnt mean he does not play..he needs to go back to new caslte...like robbie keane went...we will never..and we did not replace torres...he was the complete defenition of a striker when he was with liverpool...its simple...i havent seen any foriegn striker better than him in EPL...find an exact replacement for torres...its hard to replace players like..gerrard. alonso, torres etc...

He was subbed off because in the 2nd half he did next to nothing. If a player cant handle being subbed try a new career then.

Steve

Carroll fell over is own feet when he had a fantastic chance of scoring , he will never be what we want him to be , kk did the right thing taking him off he should not start another game .

We dont have time for carroll to "come good " not unless you want next season to be as f#****g crap as this one, i turned off the tv when newcastle went 2 up ,something i never do , but its sickening to watch such s**te football being played by l.f.c, carroll ,hendo and adam are not and will never be good enough , unless 8th place is good enough for you

AC is a striker, paid to score goals.
His behaviour, performance and attitude on sat were all very poor.
He is just crap, with a sulky childish attitude, ruse and disrespectful.

KK has been his biggest fan at LFC, treated him with care and compassion, only to be sworn at by the ungrateful w*nker.
He is a disgrace.
