Liverpool have let in 15 goals in their five warm-up games (ed what do you think the problem is) A strong Liverpool line-up struggled in Norway

Valerenga game "it just wasn't good enough, especially in the first half, The amount of goals we've conceded is not good enough" we cannot afford to concede so many goals" Agger {Ed001's Note - Valarenga are mid-season, our season hasn't started, of course they gave us a hard match.}

Rumors of a former player return may be true, Benayoun is rumored to be re-signing. I'd be quite happy with that myself, should never have been sold he was one of our few players who could play between the lines

After kennys comments on Aquilani would that not suggest he may stay? Not like the king to make comments he did and behind the scenes try an offload him desperately, does kenny want to keep him after all? Comments welcome {Ed001's Note - remember what he said about Babel?}

03 Aug 2011 22:48:47
Liverpool's bid for Enrique was rejected by Newcastle. Because of this, Dalglish is now looking to Stephen Warnock to return to his former club, and solve the LB situation.

03 Aug 2011 22:47:49
No one doubts Aqualani's skill if he was to stay he would be a great asset to the team BUT he doesen't want to stay and while that posistion is already so contested it's better for everyone if he left. He has contantly said he wants to play in Italia and with our wages needing a trim he will probably leave.

Yes if we can't buy a buyer then he may stay and he will say all the right things about the club but his heart won't be in it and what is Liverpool FC without heart? -Mc

03 Aug 2011 22:38:54
surely the main aim of being a professional football player is to play football so why do the likes of poulsen ngog refuse to leave to play regular football for a bit less money.these players are a joke.

03 Aug 2011 22:23:02
Torres slagging us off again in he press saying it was no coincidence that Alonso and Mascherno left.
That our future does not look bright..
And that it was impossible to the league at Liverpool.
Chelsea have more potential.

Hi Ed do you think Raheem sterling will be loaned out in the nw season?i hope kk decides to keep him and give him plenty of first team football this coming season.the kid has undoubtably got raw talent {Ed002's Note - I think he is too young to be considered for a loan just yet.}

03 Aug 2011 22:14:52
According to KopSource, former player returning is Steve Staunton in a coaching capacity.

Did phil Thompson not say ages ago Enrique To LFC was a done deal, now others are saying it, this seems to be a case of seeing is believing, I'll believe he will sign when he actually does

03 Aug 2011 21:18:51
ed in your opinion do you think meireles should be given the pay rise that he was promised by the last shower, it's just he was named our player of the year in his first season, thats got to count for something doesn't it?
Thanks
Eoghan {Ed002's Note - If a promise was made the club should honour it.}

03 Aug 2011 21:17:20
I'm not a naysayer but I think people need to adjust their expectations. English fans are a little too optimistic at times.

You're all expecting a title win in kennys first full season with the club captain injured star striker only just returning and 4 new signings to gel into the team (maybe 5 if enrique does join)

Give kenny a break guys, I think the expectation should be simple: improve on last year.

Be fair people or you're all going to demand he quits if he doesn't win the league. The odds are against him here not with him. Peace out

The King

03 Aug 2011 20:41:12
Whats this positive news about Gerrard? I keep hearing there is good news about his injury but don't know what they mean. Is he responding well to the treatment? Is it not as bad as he thought?? Will he be back sooner? Edd do you know? -Mc

I've just read this on joey Barton's twitter page.

"I shall not flag or fail. I shall go on to the end. I shall fight in France, I shall fight on the seas and the oceans, I shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, I shall defend my future club, whatever the cost may be. I shall fight on the beaches, on the floor outside the met quarter, I shall fight on the landing grounds, I shall fight in the fields and in the streets, I shall fight in the hills; I will never surrender.

Kind regards,

Joey Churchill"

He's crackin' up. Appropriate for him though.

P.s Please go to Everton

Ed, i hate to say this but if Aqua stays i think AC will be forced onto the bench because the team below would be stronger.
Reina
Kelly ---- Carra ---- Agger ---- Johnson
----------- Lucas -- Adam -----------
-- Gerrard --- Aquaman --- Downing
--------------- Suarez ---------------
Ed would you agree or do you think AC will still start if Aqua stays or goes? {Ed001's Note - seriously? If you really need to ask I am amazed.}

03 Aug 2011 20:21:48
Aqualini is going nowhere, he's
impressed K.K. in pre - season and is definitely definitely staying.

03 Aug 2011 20:19:30
Lets get behind the new lads that we've signed this close season. Downing has never been to me outstanding but is consistently good, can play left and right wing, good crosses, a decent finish, and is a model professional. We seen with riera, who wasnt the paciest, or the trickiest of widemen what a difference a natural winger gives you, and he was the last since mcmanaman. Adam doesnt look like a footballer, but he proved last season that he can play. Its just that playing for liverpool he might find that every ball cant be a forward one, especially when teams come to defend, whereas at blackpool his passes were good on the counter. I'd prefer him over poulsen any day. and as for henderson, he's got an 'engine', but can play too He's a younger, more skillful version of Kuyt. People can say that we've overpayed, but if they settle and play first team regularly, then with all the good young players coming through, it will just be a matter of tweaking each and every year in the future, as it was back in our heyday. Got a better feeling this season than last. Optimism lads and lasses

So regarding the long drawn out saga that is Aquilani, just been watching KK's press conference from today and he says that he is delighted to have the Aquaman as part of his squad.

Is he lying to us all?

Have we ever heard from Aqua's mouth that he really is desperate to move back to Italy?

Are we trying to up the price by saying we want to keep him?

Are any of the rumours of any of the interest from any of the Italian clubs true?

Will we really let ourselves get mugged by accepting nearly half of what we paid for him?

I just don't know what is going on anymore...... somebody please help... And not neccesarily the stubborn as a mule "he's going" Ed002, somebody with an objective point of view that can weigh things up in an unbiased manner would be good. (sorry Ed002 I just feel that you have had an underlying agenda all the way through this never ending story) {Ed002's Note - What underlying agenda? Idiot.}

Liverpool to sign Scott Dann from Birmingham within the next ten days.

Joe Cole's move to QPR has broken down. He's now said to be in talks with Coventry City, where new investment has given manager Andy Thorn the opportunity to wheel and deal.

regarding todays press conference, i thought downing was dead prfesional, adam seems to beleive in himself, hendo , for his age talked a good game, but it was downing that made me take notice, someone that knows the craic that allways knows their profesional ability, who can come in and play strait off with whoever, het, a leader at the back 1 in the middle 1 up front and 1 for the wings, well it seems promising to me.kyb

Just read somewhere that KING KENNY is looking forward to working with Alberto Aquilani as he had a great pre season with loads of promise , dosent look like he s going anywhere

Now i see Steve Staunton, another ex red who served our club with distinction is being ridiculed for being appointed to the coaching staff. I'm sure 90% of posters on these sites are not Liverpool fans. Every move thats made gets ridiculed from the signings to the coaching staff to the current players and even the new owner's who saved us from oblivion have been on the end of the f***in bulls**t. I'm sure its my dads tougher then your dad syndrome when you go to work on a Monday ya little bitch's. Start supporting because you aint supporters especially the nameless toss pots who defo cant consider themselves fans, more like fanny's. When were right up their in october watch a load of new names appear out of nowhere saying how they knew that we were gonna do well and all that s**te. Jonson6

Rumors are saying that an ex LFC player is linked with a move back to Anfield. We don't know yet who it is, but my guess would be either Bellamy or Crouch.

Good eveining ED. I wonder why people on this site bother asking you for any info. When they don't believe what you say. They would rather believe the wonderfuly informed sites like goal .com. SSN. for exsample. Metro are an absolute joke. all they do is repeat what is said on clubs forums.
I don't obviously know your sources but I get hhe feeling they are more reliable than most. However the more important issue is your site is a RUMOUR SITE. I personally enjoy the site it's fun and sometomes thought provoking and there is humour to be had, which are two very good reasons to keep me at least. to keep using the site.
You must have the patience of Jobe with the same questions repeated over and over again. AnywayIt's a very good site and I appreciate for your efforts.

Right then for my imput : We won't sign Enrique or Hawcrosss. I have a very strong gut feeling we will sign Mata and Goddin. No LB will be signed.

Thank you. (The Robe)

Hi Ed's

Was just wondering if KK and DC were still looking at Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at Southampton? I'm surprised no-one has made a move for him yet and would meet all the criteria FSG seem to have set, and a blinding bit of potential to boot?

Any thoughts?

Just a thought all.imagine in place of kenny you are the manager.you have signed suraez already and you receive 50m for torres to spend as chelsea bought him for that amount also man city was also willing to pay same money 2 seasons ago.
So without calling each other names or giving explanations let's have simple vote you agree with spending till now or disagree.
Remember if you are manager not kenny true response pls.
Ed you also must state your answer.
My vote "disagree"

Ps:no long explanation just simple vote. {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about, sorry.}

Mickey Quin On ATR says enrique to us Done Deal

03 Aug 2011 19:00:00
Enrique doesn't offer a great deal going forward but he is strong with good balance and quick feet which is what is required to counter the big powerful or quick wingers and fullbacks of the likes of Chelsea, City, Utd, Arsenal, I would be happy playing Robinson against most of the lesser teams but not the bigguns

03 Aug 2011 18:58:06

Hmmm... Liverpool fans coming over to our page and having a pop at the 8-2 loss against Marseille. Did you lot actually watch the game? You should've noticed that the only 2 players you could say are first team players were Evra and Park. We had a 40 year old in goal who hasn't played a game of football since he retired in Fabian Barthez.

When your lot drew 3-3 there was a reason to have a laugh at that result and that was basically the fact that you had 9 players that are classed first team. Reina, Johnson, Agger, Carragher, Henderson, Downing, Adam, Kuyt and Carroll.

The results you scousers have been getting in pre-season are poor. You're going to have to play 100 times better if you're to qualify for the champions league next season let alone challenge for the Premier League.

'Nuff said.

Best of English: What was the last time all of Liverpool transfers have been within the premiership

Does anyone here know about Liverpool finances.

How are liverpool able to purchase players for £20m, £20m, £10m, £10m.

I thought liverpool top spend would be near £40million cash. They seem to be over stretched

Alberto Aquilani has been the taking point of this summers debates, some supporters want Aquilani gone as they fell he has displayed a lack of commitment by making comments to the club and through his agent that he wishes to leave the club, and there are many supporters who desperately want him to stay, demanding that he is given a fair chance to prove himself at Liverpool.

To be fair to Aquilani, he wasn't given a fair chance under Roy Hodgson who sent a perfectly injury free and fit Aquilani on loan to Juventus for the whole of last season, so any impact Aquilani was going to make, was taken away from him by the then manager Roy Hodgson, then Hodgson made an even bigger mistake by bringing in Polusen to replace Aquilani, no two players could be so apart in class as them two, it was the sort of intelligent decision Hodgson would use regularly during his disastrous and idiotic time in charge.

Aquilani has the potential to become a great player for Liverpool but the constant loan deals and lack of opportunity's at Liverpool has properly made Aquilani's mind up for him, and to be honest if he goes I cannot say I will lose sleep purely because I have not seen enough of him to judge whether he would have been great or not.

Paul Konchesky and Joe Cole are other players which the footballing mastermind Roy Hodgson subjected Liverpool fans too during his time at the club, the only one which can be classed as acceptable is Raul Meireles who has been a decent player for LFC since getting to grips with the English game, that unfortunately could not be said for Aquilani, as Liverpool's results plummeted under Hodgson, where was Aquilani? Playing well week in week out for Juventus on loan and while Steve Gerrard was injured, another tactical master class from Hodgson, Konchesky has to be the worst ever Liverpool signing other than Paul Stewart, that is the only thing Hodgson will be remembered for at Anfield.

Roy Hodgson is not the world class managerial mastermind that the media set him up to be or a top four club manager that he believed he was, he made bad signings and displayed awful tactics when faced with a challenge, so if there is anyone to blame for Aquilani wanting to leave look know further than our ex tactical genius Roy Hodgson the best managerial person in the business.

If Liverpool's fans want to thank anyone for his departure, then every year send Blackburn Rovers players a Christmas card and flowers to their wife's, because boy did they do us a great big favour that night, the job had shoes Roy's little feet could not fill, and when Liverpool's owners realised that fact, they gave it to a man who's feet were just the right size and fit, the one and only Mr Kenny Dalglish.

03 Aug 2011 18:03:04
Just caught up with the game from the other night and I thought it was a great pre-season. Couple of points;

1 - Norway is HALF WAY THROUGH their season. This was a serious test for the LFC squad as clearly our little Viking friends have about 17 first class games in them - so are obviously more of a unit, fitter, tighter. I'd much rather LFC had this then beating a bunch of easy beats 9-nil. This was more like playing a tough mid-table team, half way through the season..

2 - I find it odd the comments on here sometime, because what I saw was; Henderson, Adam, Downing - all looked proper, proper players. Passing the ball neatly to space and to feet, always looking up. They're getting used to each other and dealing with a target man like Carrol - who is quite unique. But in a few touches, you could see the pattern. Good midfield play, into Carrol, supported by players running into box.

3 - Anyone notice how Downing was playing on RW at some points and even down the middle? Obviously LFC looking at options, combinations, trying a few things.

Also - could Henderson play on RW too? He looked really good bringing ball through the middle from the CB, nice flat passes on the ground, always moving forward. But - can go past people and he looks great coming into box for 2nd and 3rd ball. So do you put him on RW?

4 - Aqualani nonsense He does not want to play for LFC and I don't think he's good enough or strong enough. Great in an exhibition game, but how would he fair against the physical demands and lack of time on the ball from the likes of Chelsea, Sunderland, Wigan, Bolton, Stoke? What is this sudden love affair some fans have with a player because he can look 'cool' on the ball, has a latin name, but never do so against tough opposition? Its a myth he's a great player who never had a chance - he had loads of chances and its well known he could not handle the training demands. Get rid.

5 - Revelation was Agger. He's finally looking like he was 2-3 years ago - when I saw him live, I thought he was incredibly good player. Really composed CB, who can shoot, cross, header. He looked really happy the other night - and I wonder whether the Dalglish effect is now having its impact on him now. If Agger is fit, could be like a new signing for LFC...

6 - My pick for first squad?

More 4231 / Adam / Lucas to sit?
Reina
Johnson Carra Agger Enrique
Kuyt Henderson Adam Lucas Downing
Carrol
Bench; Doni, Skyrtel, Ngog, Cole, Merieles

Mid Sept - 4231 / diamond with wing backs? /
Suarez maybe more a natural '#10'?

Reina
Johnson Carra Agger Enrique
Gerrard Adam Lucas Downing
Suarez
Carrol

Bench; Doni, Skyrtel, Henderson, Kuyt, Ngog, Meireles

Anyway. 'nothing is achieved without hard work' is the proper LFC mantra from Shanks and Paisley and I think KK has a plan and he knows the road he wants to go down. It may take a few more weeks to settle down, but he knows where he's taking the squad, the club. And us...

Sometimes I feel really sorry for plastic clubs that will never have anybody remotely like King Kenny, nor the legendary Kop and the greatest, most famous fans and football anthem in the World, all built on hard work, loyalty, passion and a very special connection with the fans to win the European Cup five times... (chew on that Sir Alex, use fingers and thumb..)

Ah, come to think if it. Nah..

God be with the days when there was talk of Hazard, Mata, Benzema etc. Those were good days Now we are getting excited about Enrique having watched the recent matches are people genuinely excited about the season, i'm not, not witht he quality and creativity on show recently(bar Aquilani)

03 Aug 2011 16:50:05
I think it is high time, we just stopped squabbling about who is better than who and leave them to prove their worth and value to the team in the coming season. I for one am not exactly jumping for joy at our summer transfers, but I know enough to recognise that KK knows a lot more about the game than I do, and will just pray that he is getting the right pieces to fit the puzzle he believes will bring us success. Great site Eds, thank you.

The picture of the new signings together is great. What's the difference between Doni, Adam, Henderson & Downing this year, and Konchesky, Jova, Cole & Meireles last year......hair And lots of it

See, Kenny knows the secret to a good player is all in having some hair to grow, or shave, depending on your mood. It's what makes a man happy

to all eds are Liverpool bluffing the true nature of the injury to gerrard so he doesn't get called up for the meaningless friendly for England and be ready for the arsenal game.

This season Liverpool will be seeing things differently. Premier league will take priority. Fa cup will be our Champions league and the Carling cup will be our Fa cup.

03 Aug 2011 16:34:50
At the moment Liverpool might not be the most attractive club to join for foreign players. This problem might be attributed to the lack of European football and the outflow of Spanish stars from the club.
If Liverpool sign Jose Enrique, then we will be solving our left-back problem area along with boosting our Spanish contingent. If Enrique is a success then Liverpool could be back in contention for a Champions league spot.
This could also provide extra reason for other Spanish players to join Liverpool in the future because Reina and Enrique are meant to be popular and Friendly amongst other Spanish players, particularly with the Spanish national team.

Just a little reminder to the Spam fan who tried his little heart out to be funny. Want me to tell you something funny. Michael Carricks stats from last season crack me up. Dear Ed, Macca, or any other enlightened
visitor of this sight.
I read that Suarez was bought to play with
Torres, and that Caroll was supposed
to be a (this) summer target. And
given that we bid (unsuccessfully)
for Jones and Young, as well as the players we have already purchased, wouldn't that
suggest that there is still plenty of
money available to KK.
I agree that the unwanted squad
players on astronomical wages
should, and need to be moved, and I know it has been said many times that we need to sell
before we buy, but could this be a
ploy to transfer fees low? Maybe there
is a surprise instore before the end of the window?

Freddie Flintoff posted on his twitterpage before that he had indeed seen steven gerrard going into a clinic in yorkshire as he was coming out. check his tweets. {Ed002's Note - So Flintoff has "come out" - good for him.}

Ed please post this: Tomorrow when we play Valencia Mata will see close up what Anfield and the kop is all about and maybe, just maybe if KK is still interested in him and with the the passion of the crowd, it may just sway him towards us.
I truly believe the signing of Juan Mata aswell as a left back and centre back will really fire us up for the league title

03 Aug 2011 16:03:53
I know many fans, including myself, feel we have over spent on pretty average premiership players, but hopefully if they can give their all and sneak us 4th place then I feel we can really go out and spend on quality players next summer. The only problem is if these players simply are not good enough to get us champions league then we really wil be stuck. It's a pretty dangerous tactic if you ask me but Kenny has some kind of plan I guess we'll have tpo tryst him.

P.S Ed, when I post something on the site I cant se half of what i'm typing because the box for posting my message seems too small and my writing just runs runs off screen hence why their may be some mistakes in the post. Is it just me or have others reported the same problem.

We are in need of a proven Premier League goal scorer and we had one for 6 months and let him go before he had a chance to get goin. I vote we bring Robbie Keane back. Great player and would cost next to nothing as Spurs don't want him. I know he's over the age the owners are looking at but he is proven to grab a pocket full of goals. Who agrees?

You say yes i say no, you say stop i say go go go, thats how pathetic some of the so called supporters are on this site, if Kenny was going to buy Alonso people id say we want Mascherano, if we are going to buy Enrique now people want Cissoko , Marcelo blah, blah blah, Grow up for F sake, it is nauseating and embarrassing , its not a PS3 game, its about the right players in the right positions , at least we have spent money so give some credit , i seriously wonder if these people are true LFC supporters, we are not Man City with a Sheikh not Man Utd, Chelsea or Arsenal with Champions league so we have to be realistic , we have responsible owners who have and will continue to back Kenny who will take us back to the top four and beyond and we have a team who are working tirelessly to put Liverpool amongst the Elite, So get behind your team thru the thick and thin, wind and rain with hope in your heart, its the minority i am speaking of , site great Eds must wreck your head sometimes bless ya loads Liam

Its not just about English youngsters you 'clued up supporter', Rafa brought these kids to the club and he had to constantly answer questions as to why he wasn't playing them (the answer being they weren't ready), Hodgson at least played these same kids but everyone called him 'clueless' because the they weren't ready, but Kenny plays them and he's amazing?? That's what I don't understand and all the foreign kids being sold or loaned out are better than some of the english kids we're keeping e.g. Bruna's better than Amoo in my opinion, Mavinga's better than Robinson, anyway, a lot of people are blinded by Kenny's past because I'm sure if Hodgson had spent £35m on Carroll, £40m on Hendo and Downing he wouldn't be walking around today Stop the double-standards and see the man as just another manager who has a job to do and I pray he does it well for his sake and all of ours because you cannot spend £70m on mediocre and not expect to be judged on those purchases when they don't work out. IMO carragher has looked well past it for the previous two, possble three seasons. Great servant but enough is enough, he's a liability and should be replaced with Dann, Elokobi or samba. Lets give him the assistant managers job then move him into the hot seat at the end of this year.

Hi Ed , not a rumour just a quick question. How is Skrtel these days I know he had a bit of bother but time is running out before season start and his fitness will be crucial with agger's history and all that.
Thanks Ed {Ed002's Note - May be fit for the start of the season.}

I'd just like to say, I'm please with the Summer dealings so far.

We have signed decent, premier league proven players who will need no time to adapt.

We have a strong squad now and a team which, I believe, compliment each other in all areas of the pitch; take for example Downing and Carroll. Hopefully, Downing will be a great provider for Carroll with his crossing. Similarly, I believe Carroll and Suarez will work wonders together, with Carroll being able to knock balls on and hold the ball up and Suarez working his wonders.

I would be pleased with 4th place this season and a good run in a domestic cup competition.

When we are in the CL next season, then we will see some more "marquee" signings coming in.

Season looks good IMO.

to all eds

just watched the press conference from anfield regarding the 4 new players and Kenny

and would it be like Kenny to agree a deal for a player today right under all the press at melwood

Carroll is still carrying the same injury as he had last season. He is not 100%.
The last post I made was about Gerrards injury complication the day before the club announced it. I was laughed at and abused. But I'll keep them coming.
My info comes from an "in the know" source from within the club.

03 Aug 2011 15:10:49
with the huge amount of money spent by KD I still think the Squad is still not good enough to finish in the top 4, there was so much of hype about charlie adam but when we got him, he is so usless , keep aquaman and get rid of adam in January

Not really a rumour, just a thought.
Why not tell all the deadwood who are refusing to move and take a cut in wages that they will be playing and training with the reserves for the whole of next season. This should force them to move on. If not then anytime they miss training, which I assume would be fairly often, we deduct them 2 weeks wages thus not having to pay them anything.
What you think Ed. {Ed002's Note - They are not refusing to move on. What you suggest is never going to happen - it is simply not an option. IT is a pity you think so little of the Liverpool players that you find it necessary to call them "deadwood".}

Sorry Ed001 it went up later mate. Just like to say that i said on the previous posts i was on about not going up i wrote Enrique would help us play for Spain and before i get pure smart asse reply's i ment playing for us would in his mind help him become a Spanish international. Ed's 01 and the enrique haters needs to review their thoughts on enrique tbh.

cause this guy has immense talent, great skill and pace.

doesn't see any thing like this in our current LSB such as aurelio or robinson.

and talking about other players such as jose angel or cole they are over-rated without any doubt.

Just a thought, Real Madrid have recently bought Coentrao from Benfica and i would presume he would be first choice left back leaving Marcelo as a bench warmer where i doubt he wants to be. Why dont Liverpool bid for him to fill the vacant left back position? Your thoughts ed? Cheers {Ed001's Note - Marcelo is unlikely to go anywhere, Madrid only had him as a left back, hence the signing of Coentrao so that Arbeloa isn't the only cover.}

question for ed001 and fellow fans- what do you think about conor coady and raheem sterling.to me coady tackles hard and has good aggression, he is technically good with the ball and for a defensive midfielder he can go forward and score goals, also he shows leadership qualites.sterling has lots of skill and his long range shooting is great, he looks so good on the ball.i know its not too good sometimes to put pressure on a 16 and 18 year old, but in a way they remind me of a young gerrard and barnes, whats everyone think who has watched all the youth games the past couple of seasons, and ed001 do you think these two players will break into the first team this season.thanks.....lfc {Ed001's Note - I expect both lads to make it into the first team in time, they both have what it takes. Coady is no defender though, I cringe when I see him named in the kids as a centre back, it is not his position at all. Hopefully he has learnt a lot from playing there though.}

Ed001, just wondering why the post that i sent hasn't been put up mate. Thought it was a positive one to be honest. Also not to clean your clacker but why should you even have to explain yourself over Aqualani and him not being fit to train but then he's fit to play. If anyone has read this site for a while, they'll know Ed001 the main man as i've always said Ed001, and Ed002 are more in the know then 99.9% of us could ever hope to be. If something is going on at Liverpool Ed001 has the contacts so shouldn't be doubted because people have fell in love with Albert even though not wanting to play for our GREAT CLUB was seen as a hanging offence to most fans but this guy has turned peoples heads that much for a good 20 mins that the'll use their selective memory syndrome again. Jonson6 {Ed001's Note - I don't know what post I missed mate, sorry, I am a little behind with things because we are doing some work on other sites. I do wonder why people these days seem to not care that a player doesn't want to play for the club. Mascherano still had a fan club after the *censored* went on strike! What is wrong with people? Anyone messing the club about like these mercenaries have done in recent years should be shunted out quick smart, not begged to stay. We are Liverpool FC and far bigger than any player will ever be, whether that player is Pele, Diego Maradona or Alberto Aquilani.}

you guys clearly have not seen Enrique play over an extended period of time. Statisticly Enrique was the 3rd most productive and consistent LB in the EPL last season. Commoli is all about stats so it was inevitable Enrique would be on our radar. He is QUALITY.

Trust me I know my football and he is extremely underated. He is premiership proven which is a common theme in our transfers this summer...premiership proven players that will get us bk into the top 4. All these superstar spanish foreign LB's etc that u guys are having orgasms about may be better footballers but would they adapt to our league?

I suggest all the posters watch this youtube vid of Enrique, a MOTM performance vs Blackburn. Yes it is only one game but his quality is undeniable and he actually performed to this standard all season for newcastle.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zw3TLhhO7v8 {Ed001's Note - you clearly do not know your football, he is extremely overrated, not under.}

I've been thinking about the Joey Barton transfer and could this really be a bad deal for Liverpool. He's experienced in the EPL and he has a sweet right foot. He could be used anywhere across the midfield and is much more consistant than Joe Cole who I'd replace him for. Also given the fact that Maxi now has the number 11 shirt he could get the number 17 which is close enough to his prefered number 7.
I do know he has a bad attitude but doesn't Andy Carroll also suffer with this? But yet we have him and he's apparently calmed now. Maybe playing for a team like Liverpool with people like Stevie G and Carra he'll calm down too.
It's just an opinion and feel free to voice your own but instead of just critisising with no valid reason give a good response.
After all we're all supposed to be Liverpool fans. {Ed001's Note - there is no need to give any kind of response to this. He is not good enough as a player or a person, end of. All this shame charity work to try and pretend to be a nice guy does not cover up the fact that he is a nasty little scumbag who causes trouble everywhere he goes. How incredibly dense do you have to be not to see that when he is offered up on a free just to get rid of him?????}

Hi all have not posted on here for quite a few
years.
Feel somewhat underwhelmed by the Pre-season
and dont feel the signings made will add to the effectivness of the First X1.
As a result i think 5th at best unless we can get
a full season more or less from SG and Suarez
and im afraid Mr Carroll looks a serious error of
judgement

03 Aug 2011 12:40:45
Ed were's all these surprises you were talking about? Enrique now, all very predictable, we knew about these signings from day 1. {Ed001's Note - what is the point in this post? Is it just to waste my time reading you whining? Or have you actually got a constructive point to make? Everyone knows we are stuck with high earning players we need to offload before we can make any kind of big signing.}

03 Aug 2011 12:14:51
hey ed, love the site as always.heard that steve staunton will be a new coach at liverpool.a really nice guy, but his record at managment level is really poor.im starting to worry about kenny if he is recruiting these kind of people. {Ed001's Note - coaching and management are completely different.}

03 Aug 2011 12:14:00
Ed reading various reports most have said that Alex from chavski is available for around 7m well to me he would be a great signing n should try to get him. Your thoughts on Alex ed {Ed001's Note - I rate him highly, unfortunately he does have injury problems and that is why he is available.}

03 Aug 2011 12:43:01
Just to stick my opinion on Enrique's transfer to us. As well as having ambition, he feels coming to a big club can help us play for Spain, whether that happens is another matter. I think his defending is underrated and he's a pretty robust kind of player with a sweet left peg who linked up extremely well with Big Andy at Newcastle. Not hoofs but nice clipped balls into him. Think he's one of the better crossers in the league for a full back as well. The squad is begining to take shape. Sign Dann, an attacking player who can play a few different positions rather then just a back up forward, i'd go for more a utility like the Korean guy from Monaco, or a player of his ilk versatillity wise and who knows what night happen on the last day of the window Only have to look at January's to see anythin could happen late on. I'm so positive about the squad we've got/assembling that we'll be in the top 4 come end of season. No doubt in my mind at all. Its not how much you spend its who you spend it on as K.K said. Watch us go, just watch us f***in go onwards and upwards. Jonson6

As it seems you all like to post on the MUFC site I tohught i would post on yours.
I hear all of u saying this will be your year as you spent some money.
Sorry it wont be, your be lucky to finish 6.
1, Charlie Adam is crap, never tracks back and cant tackle for s**t.
2, Andy Carroll, u take the mickey out of cheslea for spending 50mil on him. He is a lot better than carroll and how much you pay (35mil) bad business. I think your Defence is s**t. Enjoy fighting the likes of stoke, wolves and villa for league positions. U will never be in the same league as united again

Liverpool should be delighted with the players they have signed in the past two transfer windows. It baffles me to know how a team who has lost its grip on Champions league football has managed to sign players such as Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll. Dalglish has done a great job with signing players. He has brought back stability and balance to a Liverpool squad that looks capable of a top 4 finish.
The ongoing injury problems experienced by Gerrard are now less of a burden for Liverpool due to the strength and dept brought into the team, particularly in midfield positions.

Aqua, Joe Cole and Jova deals to leave are on the verge of being rubber stamped. Joe Cole with a loan move to QPR liverpool paying 30K of his 95k wages a week. Aqua deal is a loan to buy deal. 1.75mil upfront with a further 8 mil at the end of the season no option this is buy AC Milan who can afford his wages and Jova as we know is going to Anderlecht. Ngog deal to bolton is also quite close/possible as liverpool have started talks regarding lukalu. And if they manage to strike a deal will let ngog go. Don't know who replacements will be for Joe Cole and Aqua, I know for sure that DC has met hazards agent however they are good friends and this could of just been a meal between to friends. I estimate the three deals above will shave around about 250k a week off our wage bill thats 12 mill a year. Not a bad saving.

Hi eds, not really sure whats going on, Nzogbia has posted "congratulations on the transfer" on enriques twitter. I know we shouldn't believe twitter however if its a player posting for the public to see it, should we believe it? Im not sure considering BBC and SSN, even the Eds and Macca haven't even broken news of a bid.
Not sure what to think here eds, you got any info on this?

Not Enriques biggest fan, however will give him a chance and he'll have my full support if he comes, think there are better options in cissokho however if kenny wants him then i suppose i want him.

Thanks Ed's {Ed001's Note - that's simply not true and you really should check on Twitter and see that no such thing has been said. Enrique tweeted N'Zogbia, not the other way around.}

03 Aug 2011 11:51:16
For all those wishful thinkers who believe the likes of Mata, Alonso, Hazard etc, are going to join the club, then think about it logically. The media has a bigger insight into Football clubs than you think.
Firstly the media throw a few names around who they think LFC should approach, but the players' names who join LFC are frequently mentioned in many newspapers and on various channels. Then the bid is made, the player has a medical, then the player signs.

These dreamed up transfers have not followed the trend, Adam, Henderson, Downing, Suarez, Enrique and Dann have.

To the person stating that Charles N'Zogbia has congratulated Jose Enrique over Twitter regarding a transfer, you're clearly unable to grasp the concept of Twitter, or, are just stirring 'BS' for fellow fans. I've just checked and it was actually Jose Enrique who was congratualting Charles N'Zogbia on his transfer to Aston Villa.

03 Aug 2011 10:10:28
Good Morning Eds. Lots of rumours around this morning re. Enrique and it looks increasingly likely that he is going to be a Liverpool player in the near future. Some of the fees quoted are a little bit worrying. £10million seems excessive for a decent left back. Any news on what we can really expect the fee to be as this seems way too high for a player who wants away from Newcastl and for whom there has been little other interest (Arsenal aside but they always back out when the fee goes above £1million). {Ed001's Note - I doubt the fee would be over 8m.}

SSN saying Liverpool have agreed to "SELL" Jovanovich to Anderlecht.I thought every Red supporter knows we are in fact paying him off to get shut of his wage bill.

So you really think keeping an uhappy player is a good idea? I think there has been enouigh cases of keeping unhappy players and the effect it has on team morale to surely prove otherwise effect it has on team morale to surely prove otherwise
--------

My personal opinion on aqua is this:

He never stated any problems with lfc or with the city.

He did moan a bit about the physical nature of the league but he can adapt to that.

His main gripe was that he never got played, rafa constantly said he wasn't fit and was injured. While aqua agent constantly said he was ready. Hmmmm who to believe? The club doctor who cleared him to play. Rafa was very stubborn about aqua I dunno why. So if aqua was given a proper chance and shown a little faith by management. Perhaps he would adapt. Ifif not then at least we will atill be able to sell him and prob get a better price after a full season in epl.

With gerrard out for the time being I don't think its a good idea letting any players who are attacking minded in cm to go.

Mr E {Ed001's Note - because Aquilani would complain about injuries or feign illness to avoid training but then miraculously recover in time to play. I am sure the huge appearance bonus he is on is nothing to do with that........}

IN
Carroll
Suarez
Henderson
Adam
Downing
Doni

OUT
Konchesky
Jovanovic

How can people possibly complain about this transfer window, we are clearly on the up and building a squad that's full of quality and not quantity.

Remember the signings and the position the club was in last year? -

H and G, Roy, Jovanovic our strikeforce saviour, Rafa leaving, Konchesky, Poulsen, Long ball, An underperforming, injury prone Spanish striker, Being linked with Carlton Cole, Chris Brunt and Luke Young.

I COULD GO ON FOREVER.......

Let's walk before we can run people.

Hi Ed's,

With Kun's move to M city, we
thought that they will move in for
ARDA, but it doesn't seem to be
happening.

After having money this season
and nothing happening with
Turan makes us feel that there was
never any interest from KK.

It looks like KK's suppossed interest
in him was all media / fans wishful
thinking.

Thanks and keep up the good job.

I have read this morning that City are trying to bring in Lennon with Adebayour moving in the opposite direction. If and I know this is a big if, Lennon did move to City would this increase the chances of adam johnson moving to us or is that just realistically not going to happen? Of course I am also speculating we have shifted on a good portion of unwanted fringe if we were to make a move.

how about we bid for Mauro Zarate (cheaper version of aguero). He won't cost much. IMO he's on the same level as Aguero, plays very much like Suarez.

your opinion pls, Anyone or Eds?

HI eds, here is the question
(a) a shared 80 thousand seat
state of the art stadium or (b)
stay as we are. {Ed010's Note - who would we be sharing such a big stadium with? the chaps over the road would not fill it}

Hey Eds great site,

With Jovanovic leaving, I'm a little worried about out front line. Of course our starting pair (Suarez and Carroll) are fantastic and frightens any defense. But other than that we have Kuyt (good run of form last season , but I doubt he can make those performances week in week out) and N'gog who I've really lost faith in . At first I thought he was a fantastic buy with great potential but he was rushed into the first 11 and the fans and critics jeered him because he wasn't as good as torres. as a result he suffered for it (unlike Lucas he has seemed to thrive from it).

other than those two I struggle to think of any others. I guess youngsters such as Pacheco and Morgan , and although I would like to see Pacheco be given a chance , I would much prefer to see these two go on loan for the season so they can show what they can do in a competitive situation. Jovanovic isn't the greatest striker in the world but he has a good work ethic and plenty of experience and created competition . I would like to see him replaced, possibly even with Trezeguet (free agent, plenty of experience) though I'm almost certain he would demand way to much in wages for it to be viable. What are your thoughts eds

Buster {Ed010's Note - if gerrard is fit i would play him behind the striker. we do need another striker but it is a fine line between having quality and then having someone that is willing to be a bitpart player}

talk on man utd page about how people mocked liverpool for poor peformances in pre season and now liverpool fans are trying the same for the marseille game. like to point out that liverpool have been playing players that are apart of the squad while man utd was playing some of their squad with celebrities/ex players for example barthez was in goals. maybe you should worry about your own team before criticizing a charity game.

Hey everyone I was just wondering of your views what would you rather Liverpool to stay at anfield and get the capacity improved or move to a new stadium? IMO I would much rather is to stay at our home were we have seen so many great memories.

Thanks, Z the Red

dear ed(s), were are being linked with a full-back caled Gerson Magrao. Who is he and is he any good? {Ed002's Note - I can't help. I know nothing of the player ad know nothing of any intrest.}

There's a piece abput this on LFC.TV. Seems like a rouse to get the Enrique deal on the move if earlier posts on here are to believed.
If Magrao is bought would be available for about £5 000000
