Norwich came out to start the 2nd half flying. Great pressing and wing play saw the away side dominate the opening 20 mins. They made their pressure count on 62mins when their best player on the night Josh Murphy hit the equaliser. His strike from outside the box took a deflection off Lloyd Jones to beat Fulton in goal. It sparked the home side to life. 3 goals in 4mins saw the home side put the result beyond doubt. A super through ball from Petersen to Dunn who rounded the keeper for a cool finish for 2-1 on 79mins. Petersen then chested the ball into space and finished left footed for 3-1 on 80mins. A lovely ball from Lussey saw Petersen round off a man of the match performance for his 2nd and Liverpool's 4th after 83mins. The match finished 4-1. A great showing by the reds who top the scoring charts to move back top of the league on goal difference with 2 games left to play.
The win virtually guarantees Liverpool a play-off place with Chelsea next up on the road before a final match away to Everton. What is great credit to the boys and the coaching staff is the stamina shown towards the end of the game. A great result for Liverpool.

A lively and very entertaining half from the U21 match. Norwich spurned an early chance with a header from close range. Liverpool took over in terms of possession, pressing and chances. A fantastic effort from Petersen who twice hit the woodwork. The deadlock was broken by Jordan Williams. Draughted into a def mid role for this match, a regular defender, he picked the ball up outside the centre cirle and drove towards the Norwich box. He unleashed a thunderbolt that flew under the keeper from 25yds out.
With Liverpool having more of the chances and better possession they were nearly made to pay the cost for missing when Norwich nearly scored a late chance from a free kick. The ball came across the box, missed by Fulton and Connor Randall smashed it against his own post. Texeira was exceptional in the 1st 45, Dunn unlucky not to have 2 goals when 1 on 1 with the keeper twice. Really looking forward to the 2nd half, more of the same please.

Hi everyone, 1st time poster long time reader.

Starting to get excited here, 1 game at a time yea yea, but to hear our fans singing "we're going to win the league" at the spurs game was class.

Please god etc etc this comes off in a few weeks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I've started listening to you'll never walk alone, tommy scouser, fields of Anfield road, and anything else on the iphone as I'm driving in to work. Last time I did that we won the champions league.

I believe and am convinced the league is ours. Just dunno what week to take off work

Fingers crossed eh. The whole team still looks fresh to me so I'm guessing fatigue won't be an issue and we can keep the momentum going.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair Mrs aaiiii is from Bolton, where we are now, and she has to endure my lfc ways bless, despite a family of mancs

Anyway, I play "you'll never walk alone" in the morning to get me set for a long shift on my ward and she's starting to feel the therapeutic benefit of our anthem!

We are in the process of fooking of to new Zealand and have been in touch with the branch of lfc supporters that are waiting to welcome us (new Zealand supporters club). those boys are so optimistic about us having the league. our lot in blighty are far less expectant

Good to know the anthem is worldwide, I'll get back to me Voddy, it's been emotional

Liverpool U21's take on Norwich this evening at Anfield. The match is live on LFC TV and online. Kick off is at 7pm.
The young reds will be looking to return to the top of the table on goal difference after a mid week defeat to Fulham at Craven Cottage. They have 2 games in hand on the Londoners.

Not really banter more of a poser for any of the Eds and my fellow Reds. As a back up forward, what do you guys think of Frasier Campbell? He is quick can finish, opportunistic, brave, has scored against some of the big boys this season and has 9 goals this season for a very poor Cardiff side. Surely he'd be a better option than Aspas! Your thoughts gents (and ladies)

If it's a player from prem I would like to see bony from Swansea he may have a clause for cl teams coming in for him only guessing mind you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Campbell would be more then decent addition to the team in my opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

Always thought Campbell was a decent player, even back in his Sunderland days. That said, I don't know that, much like Aspas and Borini, he's going to want to sit on our bench every game to get the odd 5 minute runout.

Bit of a problem we have there in that quality players aren't going to want to watch from the sidelines and we don't have the funds needed to pay the big wages (like City) to make them at least minimally happy for a few seasons if they don't play much.

For me, I'd focus on getting good young prospects or older players as that sort of 3rd choice. Trying to get someone like Aspas who is in their prime to sit and watch is always going to be difficult.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit harsh slagging Aspas off considering he has barely played. How good can anyo e be when they have to play second fiddle to Stirridge and Suarez. Iago looks like a great little player - why not give him a chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would he be a better bench warmer than aspas? Would rather stick with aspas and borini next season than waste money on a position we are well catered for.

Agree0 Disagree0

Poor Iago seems so out of place in the PL (and let's face it, Rodgers has come to the same conclusion, otherwise his sub appearances would be longer than 8 minutes) that I think we need a more stringent criteria than "better option than Aspas" when considering a striker to back up Luis and Daniel.

Campbell's not bad, but he strikes me as a guy who blows a bit hot and cold and needs to play every week to play himself into form, which he won't do here. I think it'd be a safer bet to stick with Borini, personally.

Agree0 Disagree0

Iago certainly doesn't seem to think he has much of a future here either, to be honest:

" He told FTBpro: "I'm not 20 years old anymore, I can't go on loan and explode. I think the best would be to transfer to another club that I find the best fit for myself and the club." "

Agreed, Something Red, that Borini seems a reasonable choice as 3rd striker (perhaps even occasional wide player), but I'm not altogether sure he wants to stick around and sit on our bench either.

I agree with the young player option RDL. Maybe Campbell and Borini aren't too dissimilar, minus Campbell's Premier League experience. What ever happened to Yesil?

Anyone else nervous about Sunday

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No. looks like it's just you dezyboy

Agree0 Disagree0

Trade your nerves for excitement! This is what it's all about man enjoy it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not nervous.
Just want LFC to take care of business against West Ham. in the traditional LFC way . one game at a time. and we'll see where it takes us. Keep the faith, pride and voice. YNWA

Agree0 Disagree0

I am very nervous about the West Ham game. Yellow belly Downing and Andy will be treating this as a cup final and both are talented, albeit they hardly showed us that they were. The only game in the run in that I am quietly confident about is the City game at home. We should have beaten them at the Etihad and I'm hopeful we'll do the job at Anfield

If it was last season I would fear away games like this fergies big mate Sam will be drilling it into his players they aren't safe yet park the bus and hope to hit us on a set piece they will be very well organised defensively but we have scored for fun against much better teams.

Any horse loving fans out there that could give any tips for the national think my lack of knowledge I will go for walk on just for the connection of the name.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I have gone for Double Seven and Tidal Bay. I am no expert on horses though unfortunately.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you're looking for E/W I would suggest either the package or Balthazar king. I would avoid tidal bay and Long run.

Long runs jumping has become terrible, I think the taller obstacles here will bring him down pretty early. Tidal bays age and weight will seriously hamper him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Only went for name on Tidal as its to do with Area I am from and Seven becuase I like McCoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Favorites hardly ever win.personally I'm going for Mr moonshine 33/1 at coral at the minute

I'll get back to you on my feelings about horse after I try some tartare tonight at a local soul food and bourbon bistro. Could play it safe and just have the fried chicken breakfast waffles in maple syrup but where's the fun in that?

I suggested Walk On to our friends on the Everton page, but it wasn't too well received for some reason.

i was watching the Manchester United Champions league game, by chance I was in my Liverpool top, and a Manchester United fan came up to me asking if I was like the rest and thought we would win the league. Now most of you probably think you can guess his response but I thought i'd let you all know.

"I hope you do win it, it'd be good to have a great rival back on the top who doesn't buy their way to victory, but next year is different"

It got me wondering, have any of you had Manchester United fans being nice about Liverpools title dreams or LFC in general or was this rare

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I know one who says it will be unbearable if we win but who also says that we deserve to win it.

I spoke to one about Jan he was saying how well we were playing but expected utd to get top 4 ahead of us lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think they are playing us so we go easy on them if we do.

Agree0 Disagree0

The majority of my friends are United fans, and the vast majority of those friends would absolutely hate Liverpool to win the PL. Only a couple actually say Liverpool deserve it on merit. Safe to say some of them aren't the brightest bulbs in the box and still think Rooney is the best thing since sliced bread.

JFT 96

Agree0 Disagree0

I work with a few United lads, they're a decent bunch on the whole. There's not many of them wanting us to win it though.

I think Gary Neville summed the title race up for United fans this season when he said picking a winner between Liverpool and city was like 'choosing between two blokes to steal your wife' or words to that effect.

Quite funny I thought. That's pretty much how i'd feel if Everton and United were ever fighting for the title.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a pal who is a born n' bred ManU fan and he honestly always wants Liverpool to lose more than he wants ManU to win. Those ManU fan are an extraordinarily bitter crew.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mixed response for me, my brother is a Utd fan living in Manchester and he wants us to win it out of the teams in the mix. But then all my mates that are Utd fans would rather City, Chelsea or anyone for that matter win it other than us!

Agree0 Disagree0

All the United fans I know are suffering and will likely be ringing the Samaritans if we win it.
The United fans have been giving the abuse about the league for so long they have forgot how to take it.
