Balotelli is going to Ajax.

04 Aug 2016 23:58:07
Long weekend or whole week?

05 Aug 2016 00:55:31
Haha love it Zeddicus.

05 Aug 2016 01:02:48
As long as he's not blood tested when he gets back! He'll never pass!

05 Aug 2016 03:03:10
LOL good one. Balotelli is like an old car that can't be rid of so you end up becoming the last owner. No one wants to buy him nor has interest to have his antics at their club, such a waste.

05 Aug 2016 08:28:01
Balotelli + Amsterdam = diplomatic incident.

05 Aug 2016 10:54:51
Thank god the Dutch have a sense of humour as a nation!

04 Aug 2016 21:14:31
Eds is Klopp holding up Lucas departing because of the injurys we have in the defensive department?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Lucas is injured.}

04 Aug 2016 19:42:45
I know Klopp has bought manninger in as third choice but I'm just wondering with karius injured.

Believable6 Unbelievable6

04 Aug 2016 22:51:33
what? he'll be 2nd choice?

05 Aug 2016 00:10:22
Yeah, I agree with John L8. Last I checked three minus one equals two. Therefore - 2nd choice.

04 Aug 2016 19:34:41
Milner left back is not a good thing
Does he even want to play there

When he signed I remember a reason been to get more games center mid.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

04 Aug 2016 19:43:38
He was pushed to the flanks immediately.

04 Aug 2016 20:07:32
Rodger's promises hold no water with Klopp. I think he will do alright at lb, 100% as always and should get plenty of assists again.

04 Aug 2016 22:07:00
As long as he will play he would be happy anywhere on the pitch. Midfield is crowded and Milner is the kind ofnplayer who would rather play as a keeper than sitting on the bench. Which is the right attituded in my mind.

04 Aug 2016 19:05:06
Hi eds and reds, read a rumour about Martin Ødegaard going on loan to Germany but he isaid apparently 'holding out for an offer from Klopp' is there any substance to this?

Off to wembley for the game on Saturday, hoping for good game!

Cheers.

Believable0 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what he has said.}

04 Aug 2016 18:40:10
Question for the Eds

Do you think its feasible lazy journos trawl gossip / rumour / chat sites such as this ones and then generate stories off the back of it?

Only saying as it strikes me a poster put on here approx a week ago about Benteke going to Everton if they sold Lukaku and was quite rightly told transfers don't work like that.

Now, its in the press.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Typically not.}

04 Aug 2016 19:38:32
That was me - I'm secretly Benteke's agent and Ed002 was throwing everyone off the scent. He's in on the deal too.

04 Aug 2016 17:29:11
I haven't seen Jonas Hector play much and I was wondering if you think we should pay up?
Is he as good as everyone is making him out to be, or has our desperation affected people's views?

Believable2 Unbelievable4

04 Aug 2016 17:43:47
I'm sure I saw an Ed say he wasn't that much better than Moreno :- (

04 Aug 2016 17:45:32
I'd say he's solid rather than spectacular, but that's probably what we need right now and I for one would like to see us bring him in even if we have to pay up given its the last piece in the defensive puzzle. Besides if we can get 15mln for Ibe then 20mln for a German international is fair enough, even if a LB.

In terms of his play
1) he's defensively very reliable
2) while not as attacking as some other fullbacks, he's got a good cross on him and decent dead ball delivery
3) he's 6'1 so useful on set pieces and good in the air
4) he can also play defensive midfield which might be a major bonus if Can struggles or there are injuries.

04 Aug 2016 18:20:42
No, i'm sure ed001 said rodriguez or guerriero wasnt much better than moreno.

Hector is the opposite. He is unspectacular yet solid, an actual good defender. Quite frankly i couldn't care less about whether he is good at attacking or not, i just want a good defence. An experienced german international would certainly help boost our squad.

04 Aug 2016 18:26:54
You know what Zimbo, I'd take that - we need a solid platform for our multiple attacking mids to operate from - 4-1-4-1 formation anyone with one holding mid anyone?

04 Aug 2016 19:42:34
Ah, rhis is what I read

{Ed002's Note - Hector is a decent player who has shown he can play going forward when three centre backs are played. DEfensively in a more traditional system he is well thought of. But not young and the asking price is very high. }

Defensive quality works for me - it'll probably not happen though.

04 Aug 2016 20:35:43
I don't care if he never ventures over the halfway line as long as he is solid defensively and has pace, that will do me.

04 Aug 2016 21:00:29
He certainly ventures over the half way line, he dribbled 50 yards past 4 defenders and scored for his club.

05 Aug 2016 00:56:52
Wooly, I disagree. The Guerrero I saw for Portugal was top drawer. Better than Moreno offensively and defensively and lethal on the set piece as we saw in the final. He is the one I wanted because he is just class but Dortmund came and got him. I would've taken Hector but not at that price.

04 Aug 2016 16:43:45
If we replaced Migs or Karius was fit and got a decent left back but still didn't challenge, who is next on the pecking order to be "pecked" at? Will we blame Milner, Sturridge, Clyne? A team is always going to have strengths and weaknesses. Obvious ones or otherwise. Let's not include the supporters as a weakness and get behind our team!

Believable12 Unbelievable5

04 Aug 2016 17:08:44
I remember Lucas getting in torn to shreds In his first season or 2 . I'm sure most would agree that before his injury against Chelsea, his name was probably first on the sheet . I know not all players are the same and show the same character as he did but we need to support what's in front of us. They also thrive off support.

04 Aug 2016 17:34:46
Pecked at? Oh of course we're not allowed to voice legitimate concerns of make honest critiques of players not up to par. Let's all just be quiet and bleat "come on you reds" and discuss nothing on a website designed for fans to discuss things. Excellent logic.

For the record I, personally, have been critical of Clyne for most of last season - he is awful going forward and average (at the very best) defensively.

Milner runs around lots and that is literally it. No positional sense, no tactical acumen, zilch. Top earner at the club yet not even our 4th best midfielder (I'd rank Henderson, Can, Lucas and Grujic above him) at the club. Seems likely we are shoehorning him into the LB role because of our stupidity/ lethargy in trying to sign a left-back. And we have aspirations of challenging for the title? It's a joke. We have an excellent manager, a very good attacking team and, if the club as run properly, we'd have made the extra signing or 2 needed to really complete the team. Instead we are woefully understaffed in a position of serious weakness.

Do you think other clubs and managers are not aware of our weakness? When we line up with either Moreno or Milner at LB and Mignolet in goal what do you suppose opposition instructions will be? "Attack the left-wing and put in some lofty crosses" or "win set-pieces and just pump it in". Writing is on the wall - we were inconsistent last season for precisely this reason and have done nothing to resolve it - we're going to be inconsistent again. I would be surprised if we scraped 4th - that is the best case scenario in my eyes and I honestly don't see it happening.

This is not "pecking" - I'm a genuine supporter of the club with genuine concerns about how we operate with regards to transfer - it is amateurish and it will leave us further behind others, that is the reality.

04 Aug 2016 17:52:57
Also Henderson who is our current captain was the target of some bile not so long ago and if memory serves came within an ace of being sold to Fulham under Rogers, towards the back end of last season whilst injured he was surely missed, prefer Henderson and Grujic to Can and Grujic as the middle 2.

04 Aug 2016 17:53:55
If we don't get top 4 it would be are fault it be because United and Chelsea has gone out there and got really quality players . And the the others have real quality.

04 Aug 2016 18:10:00
Spot on Seano.

04 Aug 2016 19:25:30
Spot on Seano I've been saying that too. I think we'll struggle early on and there are certain teams who will know how to beat us and they'll beat us soundly as the same problems exist that were there last season. I could be wrong and I hope I am, but to me going into a season with the worst keeper in the premier league last season as first choice (albeit through injury), no left backs (Moreno isn't a footballer from what I can tell. ) and a weak and tactically naive centre midfield is a recipe for disaster.

04 Aug 2016 19:30:44
I think most of the supporters are rightly behind Klopp and there isn't a lot of negativity on the site, compared to last year. One player does not make or break a team, although they can certainly damage it, but despite my initial optimism with regards to signing Moreno he is a glaring weakness in the team and we as supporters have a right to point this out. I do agree that some of the hate speech levelled against Moreno, Ayre, the transfer committee etc. is taking things too far, however you have idiots in nearly every group and said idiots will always shout the loudest and make it look like a majority. If you don't think this is the case I advise you to look at the support Wenger received last year.

Each to their own, but I am looking forward to the new season and I believe most of our fans are as well.

04 Aug 2016 17:20:37
the team is only as strong as the weekest link its a 50/ 50 who that is with migs and moreno in the squad combined they mite have cost us 15 points last season alone if we get a new lb then we have no excuses on paper we would have a very good 11.

04 Aug 2016 20:50:44
It is pecking. because all ya'll do is find somethong to oeck. Once that is sorted or rather, hasn't been as bad, then ya move onto summin else to peck at. OP is right.

04 Aug 2016 23:42:08
Fact is we have serious problems and weaknesses that other teams have been able to exploit ar will, those are left back (Moreno), goalkeeper (Mignolet) and our centre midfield. Those issues will still be problems at the start of the season as Moreno is likely to be our first choice left back, Mignolet will he first choice keeper and our centre midfield is the same as last season that got battered at will and exposed our centre backs too often. The way things are I can see the kinds of defeats we suffered against Southampton, West Ham, Sevilla, Swansea, Newcastle, Man United etc happening again.

04 Aug 2016 16:02:06
Hi eds/ reds
I don't know about you guys but I personally am very excited for the season ahead after what I believe have been some very good transfers in and out. The lack of a left back signing is disappointing for sure but you never know, maybe just maybe the pressure now put on Moreno with the club looking for a replacement and Milner being ahead of him (according to ed001) will help him finally start to try and learn from his mistakes.
He must surely know that if Liverpool force him out then he's not going to be moving to a better club. Maybe he'll get his act together. I'm hopeful but not expecting much improvement. Other than that I think we're ready to give this season a real good go and with klopp at the helm the motivation should be sky high. Absolutely buzzing for the gunners, YNWA.

Believable9 Unbelievable5

04 Aug 2016 16:16:56
Hertford, I love your optimism but Moreno has never been, nor will ever be a full back.

04 Aug 2016 15:17:34
Hector, on the list finish this deal, and this will be the last brick in the building of the klopp house. (Hopefully not Hector's house) 😇.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

04 Aug 2016 16:06:48
Lots of talk about an official bid for Hector going in today. 🙂.

04 Aug 2016 14:30:06
Any chance Liverpool could look to Johannes Geis? Understand that they said a few weeks ago that he wasn't for sale, wondered if anything could have changed. Think he is a great player with potential to be world class.
Cheers.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

04 Aug 2016 14:26:23
With it looking more likely Milner is going to be our left back let's all support him and wish him the best. I am wondering though with more attacking players this season and signing a keeper who's strongest part imo is his distribution if we will look to have our fullbacks be a bit less adventurous to make us more solid at the back.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

04 Aug 2016 14:45:10
We had an entire window to get in a quailty left back. Milner playing there would be a disgrace and most likely a shambles.

04 Aug 2016 15:14:01
Especially now the transfer window is closed, Big Al.
Oh, hang on.

04 Aug 2016 15:26:28
Best form of defence is attack. You may be suprised this year.

04 Aug 2016 15:59:08
Annie
That's why I stated *would be * if it comes to that. Left back should have been address by now.

04 Aug 2016 20:40:01
I just had a vision of bolassie in possession running at Milner at lb. it didn't work out good for us. please sign a left back. we have faith in u klopp but we can't all be wrong.

04 Aug 2016 23:38:32
You also said we HAD an entire window, Big Al.

04 Aug 2016 13:50:29
Hey eds and reds. My random left back of the day is Rico Henry of Walsall. i'm pretty sure his name hasn't bobbed up yet.

Believable8 Unbelievable3

04 Aug 2016 14:14:10
Ha, very random .

04 Aug 2016 13:29:05
Curious to ask. Would Liverpool fans play manniger before mignolet until karius is available?

Believable8 Unbelievable6

04 Aug 2016 13:32:19
I probably wouldn't because he wasn't that good in his prime, which was sometime ago. That injury to Karius was seriously untimely.

04 Aug 2016 13:33:16
well he knows arsenals set up!

04 Aug 2016 13:33:38
No, I know migs has some problems but at least he's been playing regular premier league football. He does have his moments of brilliance as well (not frequently I know! ) He needs replacing if we want to win the league but he's still a premiere league keeper in my opinion (mid table)

04 Aug 2016 13:57:47
Recall Danny Ward? Haha.

04 Aug 2016 14:40:57
Yes definitely! But klopp won't for several reasons.

04 Aug 2016 15:09:36
Remember what happened with a certain Adam Bogdan?

04 Aug 2016 15:22:49
Yes although now it looks a mistake to let ward go out on loan. Could have sold mignolet and had ward start the season.

04 Aug 2016 17:02:58
I'd try it in a friendly.

04 Aug 2016 18:31:29
Considering we let Ward and Bogdan go out it should be fairly obvious this was the situation where Mignolet becomes starter and Maninger comes onto bench.

04 Aug 2016 20:22:48
Didn't mean the post to be as snappy as it sounded, was just trying to keep it brief.

04 Aug 2016 12:37:00
Liverpool being priced out of hector signing is nonsense. Expect a bid within the next week of around 22m.

Believable3 Unbelievable11

04 Aug 2016 13:26:36
Looking at our previous business on LB your very optimistic to say the least.

04 Aug 2016 13:54:24
Very :)

04 Aug 2016 11:44:48
Long shot I know. Anyone with a spare ticket for Wembley match? I could trade in / offer a bed for the nite?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

04 Aug 2016 12:18:54
Now if it was LADY bunton you might have a chance 😝.

04 Aug 2016 12:32:59
As well the ticket cost of course 🙏🏻👌😀.

04 Aug 2016 14:03:42
Haha Waro. It's the old porno name thing. first pet meets mums maiden name 🙄😏.

04 Aug 2016 14:55:22
Seriously tho chaps I'm one stop away from Wembley stadium and with the last train back to Lime st at 811 I could be handy. Big sofa and spare room on the go if spare tickets available!

04 Aug 2016 15:24:39
How about, you stop on the sofa, and I'll sleep in your room with Lassie Bunton?

In all seriousness though, I don't have tickets.

04 Aug 2016 17:40:41
Haha MK. Thanks for letting me know you don't have tickets also 🙄😂.

04 Aug 2016 11:38:36
Just been reading that if Everton sell lukaku they will come in for benteke. No idea if there is any truth in it, or if we would even sell to them. Just putting it out there.

Believable1 Unbelievable7

04 Aug 2016 12:59:22
Well if Liverpool don't deem him good enough then what is the problem selling Benteke to Everton?

04 Aug 2016 14:41:33
I don't see any problem. Last time we sold anyone to them was in 92 I think. And he always seems to have a nack of scoring against us.

04 Aug 2016 17:04:18
Because if skrtel many people scored against us.

04 Aug 2016 11:16:56
With the start of the season round the corner, and the debates turning to where we would finish- was just thinking about how our players rate against others in the "top 6"

As an example, if I was to rate GKs from Man Utd, Chelsea, spurs, arsenal, man city and us I'd probably put ours down as 6th.

I hope Jürgen can turn the sum of our component parts into something great, as, if you continue the GK rating across a 4-2-3-1 system we don't have very many positions in all honesty where we have players in the top 3.

However, Claudio did it last season so here goes for optimistic outlook for the new season.

Believable2 Unbelievable5

04 Aug 2016 11:58:19
Don't rate hart .

04 Aug 2016 12:59:28
I don't rate Hart but he's better than Migs. Our goalie situ will cost us for the first 2 months. We need a tried and tested goalie if we want top 4 this season. Last seasons top 7 all had better goalies than ours not discointing courtois. Our attacking players are quality, our defence would be a stronger unit if we had a decent comanding keeper. Maybe Karius will be the answer?

04 Aug 2016 13:39:02
Redmen Reus - me neither

I had: De Gea, Courtois, Lloris, Cech, Hart, Mignolet.

{Ed001's Note - Butland, Forster, Schmeichel etc all far better than Mignolet. He is nowhere near 6th best.}

04 Aug 2016 18:34:34
Also don't get why so many English people don't rate Hart but rate someone like Czech (who was calamity to start to calamity for Arsenal) and De Gea (who still would rather use his feet than his hands to try to save) . Don't rate Mignolet as their level, do rate Hart as being at least on a par with Courtois (over-rated), Czech and De Gea and would say Lloris is above the lot of them. From the feedback and his age Karius could become a top level keeper but very early days.

04 Aug 2016 20:24:21
Be interesting to see this season if Butland just had a purple patch or he is going to be something good.

04 Aug 2016 20:44:53
Er hart struggled with shots that were hit directly at him with unimpeded sight within saving distance. The lad is just not a good keeper fella, on a par with mignolet for me.

De gea is hands dowm the best keeper, what does it matter if he uses his feet as long as he saves it. I remember peter scmiechael being pretty handy with his feet and he was also one of the best keepers in the world in his time as was grobellar etc.

04 Aug 2016 23:40:02
Migs 6th best in league? Are you kidding me? Not only are the 3 ed mentioned better there's probably at least another 4 or 5 to add to that list. Plus most of the top teams reserve keepers are at least on a par with him if not better ospina, caballero, begovic, romero and vorm . He's probably around 15-18th best in the league. Basically a relegation level keeper which was where he was before coming to us.

05 Aug 2016 07:06:52
Someone didn't read the full OP.
Here's hoping the sum of our parts add up because I agree. But it only takes a few to step up a level or week in week out like we know they can and suddenly that all changes. I'm thinking Can, couts, Sturridge etc.

05 Aug 2016 08:51:38
Lol yes seems I did jump the gun, that's what comes of reading and replying on a phone when waiting at traffic lights.

04 Aug 2016 08:56:53
Hi Ed's,
This Player Rafa Silva from Braga.
He looked a good winger, did Liverpool try to sign him?
Spurs are trying tk sign him for 10 mill and it looks a bargain transfer.
Your thoughts.

Believable1 Unbelievable6

{Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of, we can't sign every player.}

04 Aug 2016 14:06:13
Ed001 thanks for replying.

{Ed001's Note - you are welcome.}

04 Aug 2016 10:05:24

More hector rumours today.

04 Aug 2016 08:47:27
Rodríguez from Wolfsburg, would this be an option? I think he is pretty decent and has a touch of quality about him.

04 Aug 2016 08:35:15
Debate based on eds' opinions of Klopp; ed1 is a big fan of how he seems to improve what he has got, ed2 is less impressed, citing mainly tactical deficiencies.

So, early impressions of Herr Klopp from you lot?

Believable2 Unbelievable5

04 Aug 2016 09:04:26
Winner.

04 Aug 2016 09:11:00
Time will tell. As kloppo himself has said, this season is his team, his players and his real yardstick to be judged. We have an awful opening 6 games. I hope our season doesn't begin and end in August/ Sept like it usually does.

04 Aug 2016 09:21:45
He's the best manager for our club and will make things happen over the coming years. no doubts at all.

04 Aug 2016 09:35:23
Has won nothing yet and took the team to 8th in the league when in charge for the mojority of the season. Has proven nothing so far. i'm hoping for a massive improvement this season.

04 Aug 2016 09:35:49
I love kloop he is the best thing happend to us in years. i'm very sure we will be around the champions league spot for atleast few years. I don't see us chalenging yet but will surely play good footy and get in to the later stages for other cups. But i totally agree with ed002 that his system is found out. He has to change his system based on the opposition. The first and the most important thing for lfc and kloop should be a change in player recruitment. I am a big fan of how Sevilla works, even how our premier leaugue champions do their bussiness. We have to find the right balance in being successfull on the pitch and in our bussiness. that's the main reason i would have preferred Emery as my first choice. But i'm very very happy having Kloop.

04 Aug 2016 10:09:13
I think Klopp was by far the best option for us. The way he worked at Dortmund is exactly the same as the position we are in. We just need patience. I don't think this up and coming season will be ours, we will get there but I think it will take another 2-3 seasons. He's already trimmed down the youth set up and seems more willing to give them chances. The wage bill has been trimmed and we are still looking to trim it further. Benteke and Balo gone would help still further. We are obviously in need of a LB and must admit am a bit disappointed and disillusioned as to the fact we'll blow £25m on Wijnaldum but won't on Hector, we refused to spend £10m on Chilwell, will spend on luxury signings but not on priories. This I don't get. I have faith in Klopp and there's still time this window. Maybe Klopp has spoken to Miliner regarding LB and they have been working on it in training and Klopp has seen something he thinks he can work with. Maybe he still thinks he can bring Moreno on. We just don't know, yes LB rankles but I have faith. i'm still not convinced on midfield either but I have high hopes for Grujic so am willing to judge this again after the up and coming season. I know I come across as negative sometimes but I do have faith but at the same time I tend to speak my mind and say whatever I'm thinking at the time lol. Time will tell for us all. YNWA.

04 Aug 2016 10:29:47
The best manager we could hope for.

04 Aug 2016 10:38:23
not impressed with his transfers or with a couple of players he has or might let go . Can't fault his enthusiasm but that isn't enough . jury is out.

04 Aug 2016 12:27:19
He's solved some obvious problems already, notably
1) developed a identity/ style of play in the squad
2) built a winning/ never say die attitude that was sorely lacking
3) galvanised he supporters to really get behind the team
4) addressed the lack of presence at CB and GK with Matip/ Karius/ Klavan
5) addressed the lack of pace and goals from attacking midfield with Mane and Wijnaldum

The questions still out there in my mind are
1) can he address the lack of a specialist LB that doesn't leak goals
2) how will Hendo/ Can etc. perform at CM given we lack a top experience DM
3) will he be flexible enough to adapt to those days when the high press just isn't working (like vs Sevilla) and figure out another way to win

Overall I'm very very happy with him at the helm, would rather have Klopp Han almost anyone else for us specifically at his stage of our development, we need the fire and passion. I have a feeling we'll be doing great things in the next 2-3 years.

04 Aug 2016 13:21:14
Why not this season Zimbo if Klopp has addressed all these problems?

We're lucky to have him Klopp an Liverpool fit like a glove, the man's a winner. YNWA.

04 Aug 2016 13:39:22
Ron, winner? Without winning anything.

Like I have said before, Klopp is the right man, but, ha, there is always a but, can't se us doing much this season, oh, you might say we were in two Cup Finals last season, but how did we get on, what about the usual silly easy goals conceded, how we fell apart V Seville, I do recall some great games that we won, thinking Man City, sorry, that won't happen this season, all we can do is fully support Klopp and the team that he puts out, this season is about getting his team right, but winning something, that's for the season after this one, by then we will have our team sorted and we can expect some silerware .

04 Aug 2016 14:31:47
guy what with we finished 8th. We were 4 point or so behind 5th so honestly not so far away from 5th. Took us to two finals and we lost but when was the last time we went for a europen finals. So saying he finished 8th and forgetting the other achivements is wrong. He has already improved us. So give him the credit he deserved. And please think before u start typing.

The thing that strikes me about him is that he is not one of those mercenary guys that move every 2-3 years (whether player or manager), looking for the best deal possible. The man has signed for 6 years and that shows a lot in terms of commitment, and a real desire to rebuild LFC and win titles/ cups. It's the best possible thing that could have happened. Consistency. A direction (doesn't matter if we agree or like it or not) that will not waver and not change (in the medium term), and that's really good.

In response to the posts above about Klopp being "found out". So what? Every manager and every team style gets found out. Sometimes one game and sometimes 10 games. Everyone knew what "tiki taka" was all about. But they still couldn't stop it nor stop all the titles being won. After a few games, everyone knew what Leceister was all about. Team cohesion, defend deeply and lightning fast counter attacks. Nobody stopped them from winning the title. So being found out really doesn't matter. As long as the strategy is sound and the team has the players to execute it very well, you can still win, and win for years and years. There's no such thing as "stealth" football.

Hasn't solved the glaringly obvious problem of getting a great Left back or even two. Obvious to every fan, every other team, every commentator/ analyst but looks like we're going into new season with Moreno still there or hoping Milner can be a LB which is also ridiculous.
Some very good signings but the biggest problem is still there, that's very very worrying.

Hey eds, a slight throwback of a question. Were we ever close to getting ancelotti before Klopp? I've always been a fan of ancelotti (though I like Klopp too) . Thought he could've done a good job for us as well. They're polar opposites it seems but both great managers. And if (heaven forbid) pressure were to build on Klopp, you can't help but wonder. what if we'd gotten Carlo?

Just something to shift from transfer madness.

{Ed002's Note - It was an option that was considered.}

Liverpool have failed with a bid to sign Brazilian striker Luan Vieira

Daily Star via sly sports news.

Two questions, who and why?

Can't be true, unless of course he's more of an attacking mid - we like buying attacking mids.

04 Aug 2016 08:25:11
Sounds like BS to me.

04 Aug 2016 09:05:10
Gutted 😟.

Hi Ed001 very sorry to hear about your break up I hope it hasn't effected your health to much.
Anyway my point Ed it's of course about our complete failures in some of our transfers. I know you said that with Ian Ayre going things should improve but let's remember transfers is not his specialty so someone/ somebody has to held accountable. Surely Klopp must stunned at our inept at getting deals done. I no from dealing with people you usually meet in the middle with evaluations.
Or am I missing something here?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - it is fine, if anything my health is better....

It is more than Ayre, but he was still the main man dealing with them, and football is not his area of expertise. We need someone with more knowledge of the game, someone who realises that you have to prioritise certain areas of the team and pay more for those, because you need them. Rather than looking at a standard valuation and saying attackers cost more so we pay more for them.}

Come on, the fans need to ease abit.

13 mil for Allen, 15 mil for Ibe?

Every player klopp wanted apart from chilwell and zirlinski (who might of been different tapping up options) . Its been a cracking summer by all involved apart from the lb currently.

You will all be singing his praises if chilwell flumps!

Couple more weeks yet. Personally even a loan for a siqueria type as a stop gap would be solid just to have someone as a natural lb incase Moreno continues as is, rather than a Milner.

Not popping at you ed, you were just answering a question 😊.

04 Aug 2016 05:51:00
As someone who grew up supporting Liverpool, it's amazing how little Ayre knows about football.

04 Aug 2016 07:34:21
Even his past credentials do not suggest to me that he should be a chief executive of a club of liverpools stature. Decent at the business and marketing side of things, terrible at the football side of things. This has been proven time and time again. Best thing for the club that he's leaving, but there's more rubbish that needs to be cleared out at Liverpool. Standards just somehow dropped.

03 Aug 2016 21:33:31
What is the reason for clyne being unhappy? It seems strange considering him being first choice for the whole season. Were we trying to replace him? Did he expect European football this season? I'm curious.

04 Aug 2016 02:50:35
We are trying too replace him if we can.

04 Aug 2016 07:08:13
Fingers crossed.

04 Aug 2016 07:40:46
Is the replacement not already there . Flanno.

04 Aug 2016 09:57:03
I think the injury has taken a lot out of poor flanno, wasn't the quickest to start with but I think that has slowed him down a bit more, hopefully I am wrong and he has a brilliant loan spell.

04 Aug 2016 09:44:41
People need to come in terms with the fact, Klopp doesn't rate Flanno. Hence he is sent out on loan. If he was half good as people talk here he would be replacing James Milner at LB.

04 Aug 2016 13:31:44
Just because someone isn't played it's not fair to say the manager doesn't rate them, I'm sure if he was that low down the list klopp would be trying to sell not loan. He's clearly not reached his previous form and perhaps klopp sees a loan move as an opportunity for him to regain form, rather than putting an out form RB as his first choice lb and expecting miracles.
