when lucas is back, it will feel like a 50 mil signing compared to what we have in our squad now. just saying, i hope we learnt our lesson with signings and do some good business for next season.
looking forward to the final, looking forward for the euros andd looking forward for next season.

Tom Ince looks a real talent, it's a shame he was such a greedy, arrogant fool. Or maybe his Dad was. Ed01 what was the story there?

Papa G {Ed001's Note - he was asking for first team wages. Not sure what people see in him. Yes he might do something good, but then he loses the ball, then he loses it again and again and again. Even his shot was going way off target before Davies stuck a foot out.}

Sounds like dirk kuyt to me

04 May 2012 21:06:38
Eds, it appears we'll be buying a right-back in the summer, any chance of Gregory Van Der Wiel? Think we'll buy Dempsey who will be a brilliant signing as is what FSG are all about. £10million on an aging player doesn't seem great, but he's a good player, a consistent performer and is very well supported in USA. He's someone who'll bring in revenue from shirt sales all across America where we are definitely branching out. It's a perfect move. {Ed001's Note - I doubt either are targets}

04 May 2012 19:28:35
Hi eds/macca have you have any idea what the team may be tomorrow?? {Ed001's Note - not a clue sorry.}

04 May 2012 18:33:47

1. Cuana from barca
2. kroos from bayern
3. A.Johnson from manc
4. ELM
5. De jong
6. higauin
7. Ramirez
8. suaesta
9. Munian
thanx

This should be placed on the wish list

04 May 2012 21:55:17
is it normally a late kick off for the FA cup final?

Traditional was always was always 3pm.

No, its the FA screwing liverpool fans again

04 May 2012 21:52:54
Hi Macca

Keep the team to yourself lad, we can wait til 1 hour before KO ;)

04 May 2012 21:51:19
Macca

If you know the team why don't you tell us? Or would that jeopardise your source?

Thanks

James

Because it would jepordise the team. dont think Kenny wants the team leaked a day early

04 May 2012 21:40:49
Hi all Ed's great site thank's a mill for all your HARD work....Please,please can anyone tell me around what month the new strip will be launched+will warrior sports put in on a site so we see it before it goes on sale??..Can anyone help?...Ive a good feeling for tomorrow people...YNWA!! {Ed001's Note - the strips will be shown on the official Liverpool site prior to launch, so people can pre-order them, this month I would expect.}

Cheer's Ed001 your a star mate.... {Ed001's Note - sorry it's taken a while, huge backlog of questions I am trying to get through, my internet has been a pig today and 002 is away so it has been a bit of a struggle keeping up.}

04 May 2012 21:40:35
Come on Macca - let us know the team for tomorrow.. please tell me Maxi will start here, Maybe not Bellers because we will need to shackle Ramires... They will be full of beans I'd say with recent outings suggesting the tide is turning but we have to believe we are Liverpool and finals suit us down to the ground.. we love the buzz the edgeyness surrounding the last 20mins, we made for it. COME RED MEN YNWA

04 May 2012 21:31:53
The team I think should play for tomorrow :

Reina

Agger Skrtel Coates

Johnson Enrique

Spearing

Maxi Bellamy
Gerrard
Suarez

In this team, we have a good defense, with aerial ability. We have goals with the front 4. We have pace with the full-backs and wingers. We have a holding player, to allow the front 4 to push on. It seems to be perfect.

Apart from the fact spearing aint good enough

04 May 2012 21:27:03
Can't wait for the game tomorrow I hope the team is
Reina
Johnson
Skrtle
Agger
Enrique
Downing (right)
Hendo
Spearing
Bellamy(left)
Gerrard
Suarez

Come on U reds!!!

04 may 2012 21:26:41
riena johnson skrtel agger enrique
kuyt gerrard downing
bellamy suarez maxi

04 May 2012 21:19:56
T.ince is looking better than downing at the moment why did we let him go again?
Alfiedean

Cos him and his dad are greedy

04 May 2012 21:18:11
Tom Ince is quality! Anyone watchin him play for Blackpool, very talented, quick and tricky, we need him back, him and sterling on either wing. Roblfc86

Championship quality player

04 May 2012 21:17:27
Watching blackpool and Tom Ince seems handy player..could have saved millions we wasted on Downing.....

You've formed that opinion on one game then!!
What about the opinion of the youth and reserve squad they had a lot longer to judge him before deciding to let him go.

Lyndon

04 May 2012 21:09:54
Macca,

Not sure he was enquiring about whether or not you knew... Was more interested in who is starting!

Come on mate... Spill the beans!

reading some of this banter is very disrespectful.Carra as been one of our most loyal and best players and if anyone apart from stevie carra is red thru n thru show some respect for heros.we all dream of a team of carragers.good luck 2moz lads do it 4 your selves and 4 that wonderful liver-bird.YNWA

Respect where respect due, absolute legend and we'd all love a team of carraghers from 5 year ago, but for now it's gotta be agger skrts.

Dissecting the results of LFC what Ian Ayre didn't tell
1) The losses accruing from the stadium that never was (40m) was offset by the profits made on Torres and Mascherano ( 43m)
2) Liverpools Matchday revenue decreased and LFC lost 4.5m due to decreasing attendances inspite of playing same amount of matches at Anfield
3) Liverpool's revenue was down 0.5%
4) But at the same time, Wages to Revenue ratio rose to 70% from 62% ( Uefa allow 70% for FFP)
5) Operating Profits of Liverpool fell by a whopping 63% ( basically suggesting Liverpool are punching above their weight finance wise in the transfer market)
6) Liverpools revenue has decreased but wages have increased manifold
7) Liverpool are basically operating a Champions league squad without the CL money ( this point is especially to those lfc fans who said that CL money is not imp as FSG have the money)
8) Interest payments have decreased hugely ( good news for lfc)
9) Liverpool have a negative Cash inflow of 42m
10) despite being out of UCL and top 4, LFC wage bill is the 4th highest in the league

Fenway have a very big challenge keeping Liverpool competitive in the next few years. The Warrior kit deal next season will add c. £13m (7%) to revenue, but there was no Champions League football in the current season and there won't be any next season.

Got it from my united mate, have no clue about finance so would appreciate if any of the Eds confirm whether this is true or not.

Cheers,
Daniel Rogers.

Most of those points hold no water as the wage bill has been reduced dramatically since then.

Martin

You have just made that up

04 May 2012 21:03:44
My team sheet
Reina
Kelly Agger Skrtel Enrique
Kuyt Hendersen Bellamy
Gerrard
Suarez
Carroll

04 May 2012 21:03:42
I've thought long and hard about whether I still want Kenny in charge next season. My heart says he deserves another season and my head says he should move upstairs. So, I am still undecided.

However, I might be clearer in my mind when I see the team sheet tomorrow. If Kenny names Carragher at centre back and Agger out of position at left back, I'll know the time for him to go has come. Basing key decisions on sentimentality is not the way this club needs to go to progress.

04 May 2012 20:47:15
Hendo will start the game tomorrow on one of the flanks!

Not his position and he is completely lost out wide!

I agree and i think he has been improving lately but he just doesnt look comfortable at right mid, got to play him through the middle.
cobra

Yeah and that's why we've flopped in the league, good player central..awful out wide. Not his fault, why the hell kk plays him there is beyond me. Gotta start kuyt or downing on right.

Aldos

04 May 2012 20:38:32
Macca,

Knowing that you have been told the team, but maybe a little early for you to release it.......

With what you know...........

Are you confident we can do what is needed to be victorious tomorrow?

Hope the eds print this? as a spurs fan whl is n/e london so I doubt any of you will be in that area of town! but two places where fans may go if your down here early may be camden town/chalk farm area and the more central, tower bridge area, these are normally spurs areas I'm sure all will be fine but just be careful?

Hello Eds and fellow reds here's an amazing stat curtesy of the BBC. Liverpool have only scored 2 first half goals in our previous 13 FA Cup final appearances. So for a Cup final question of sport name the 2 games and goalscorers.

el pistolero ,the type of player that thrives on being heckled by fans who after all are only following a fashion thinking that it might just knock him off his stride .the same can be said regarding rafa ,except the difference is rafa fell for it .in any case the majority of the time the only way to silence the hounds is by throwing them a bone ,and against norwich last he did just that only this bone would of made fred flintstone proud ,so all due respects to the little uraguayan for giving the chelsea defence a sleepless night .suarez3.1, come on you reds.

I'm an Everton fan and I just wanted to say good luck in the cup final. You were better than us in the semi and you deserve to be there on that performance.

ToffeeDave.

Thanks, nice to know some fans are not using the rivalry to abuse other fans.

Great sportsmanship

04 May 2012 19:57:37
Maxi and bellamy seem to link well and hav a nack of playing well against chelsea, bearing that in mind I think I would start them tomorrow. My team would be:
Reina.
Johnson, skertl, agger, Enrique
Spearing, Gerrard
Bellamy, Suarez, maxi
Carroll.

Idealy spearing wouldnt be in the starting 11 but think he is better defensivly than shelvey and hendeson allowing Gerrard a bit more freedom to get box to box!!

Ryan.

04 May 2012 19:46:26
General consensus in my local pub is that we want gerrard up there with suarez, not sittin deep most of his career hes been off striker eg torres, i think suarez could have scored a lot more should gerrard have been in the team,
My team.
Reina, glen johnson, m. Skrtel, agger, enrique, henderson, spearing, bellamy, maxi, gerrard and suarez
Jones, kelly, carra, shelvey, downing, kuyt, carrol

04 May 2012 19:38:37
HEY LFC FANS...........

i am sure most people are wondering.............who will be the centre back pairing?

and will he play agger left back...................to get roasted by pace from the chelsea wingers...

we all want lfc to win.....................but i guess we all hope for common sense with the selection...over favouritism..or loyalty

04 May 2012 19:32:47
Can't see any room for Carroll tomorrow,I think Ivanovic and Terry will win the aerial game all day,but there might be room to get in behind Boswinga and Cole with Bellamy and Downing. I think Suarez is also likely to cause Ivanovic in particular some problems. I see a 4-5-1 with Spearing,Henderson and Gerrard,Bellamy and Downing on the wings, and hope Dan and Martin at centre back, think Drogba will rip Carra if he plays! WelshBoyDave

Just been told that maxi and bellamy will start tomorrow, don't know if its a red herring, but I think the team will b
1.Reina. . 2 .Carragher 3.Skrtel 4.Agger. 5. Johnson. 6. Enrique. 7. .Spearing
8. Maxi. 9.Bellamy
10.Gerrard
. 11. Suarez

Don't know if its a red herring but what ever team KK picks, we should win, (touch wood), just as long that every player leaves nothing left on that pitch, then we will be proud of the team, and the badge! Are we gonna be wearing the new kit or not? Good luck REDMEN! Y..N..W..A jft96! And to the chelski fans who booed at the minute silence remembering the people/fans who never came home! Let's hope the right fans come home happy! Thanks! DHH L20 KOPITE!

Emery has been touted in the Spanish press for the Liverpool Job,if the king was to abdicate, then Emery would be a perfect choice .He has done wonders with Valencia, despite the financial restrictions, and the forced sales of their best players.

04 May 2012 18:55:36
common reds, we need to show the blues why we have a history. we won 2005 champions league when we were 3-0 down at half time and we are gonna do it again tomorrow. it was only possible because we fan were signing YNWA at our full voice at half time and that motivated our players to give there best they can. common reds think about all the abuses we got when they booed our 1 mins silence for the hillsborough disaster victims so lets give it a justice to hillsborough victims by teaching the blues what we reds are and how we stand together when it comes to history and pride of our club. cheers

Team for tomorrow to win the cup ....
Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
Bellamy Gerrard Henderson Downing
Suarez
Carroll
Subs to come on Kuyt for Carroll , Sterling for Downing, and Shelvey for Henderson

Agree mate.

I would dearly love to see Sterling on the bench tmrw. The lad has got magic in him. Why not have him there just in case ?
Be great for him too. I dunno who Kenny'd leave out though. That would be a killer for any senior pro.
The Real KB

I never ever ever ever understand how people make changes before the game... how can you possibly know what these players input in the game is going to be like, what if Carroll is running Terry ragged? still bring him off?

While we are at it
1st game of next season bring Ramierz off at 63:18 replace him with Matt Phillips and swap Elm for Charlie Adam at 72:51, that will get us the 3 points!

G BOX

You can't put down the subs cos you don't how well the starting line up will play. Suarez could end up playing terrible with a yellow card and would have to come off.

Plain Taunt Hall

Carra will play...agger or skrtel wont...

04 May 2012 18:34:46

You posted the team for the Carling Cup Final well before it was released. Have you heard anything regarding tomorrows team?

Just been pondering about our chances of winning the league in the next few years. we have ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE. Just look at how good man city's players are, jesus christ.

You just purchased Fifa 2012?

04 May 2012 18:08:42
I'm usually quite up to date when it comes to 'being in the know' with transfers. But 'Rasmus Elm' is something I know nothing about, but am so wanting there to be some solidity in the story, I've been watching the lad all season, he is fantastic.

JT

04 May 2012 17:29:36
eds noted earlier that u didnt think adam johnson was a possibility well if am being honest from what i know that he will most definitly be on our shortlist cosidering hel be available for sale and a reasonable price and has proved in premier league i think there will be a lot of clubs sniffing around ive got to say i think he is the best winger in the egland national team he is not giving his dues he is a sensational dribbler and can strike a ball scores goals for me all thigs considered price age nationality fantastic signing. so eds iv gotta say i think this one could come back and bite you. for me right winger is between adam johnson younes belhanda and marco susaeta. strikers luuk de jong roberto soldado or giroud. other possibles from my knowledge is sissoko, armero or michu. clint dempsey will not be joining liverpool either he is being chased by bayern munich and ac milan

Man city would like to offer £30 mill plus johnson for gareth bale!

04 May 2012 17:23:42
People who say Andy Carroll is improving i think say this in kind of a hopeful way...
The fact of the matter is he doesn't act like a goalscorer, If you watch him close every game he never gets in to goal scoring positions in the penalty box. He lays it off and ambles in and is always too late. He has had a couple of ok performances just based on his hold up play outside of the area thats it.
Before people say get off his back watch him alone for a full game and watch his contribution, and remember this guy is paid a fortune by your club to score goals.
Dave

Dave. You must be blind not to see his improvement. It hasn't been rapid but he has improved a lot. For the last month or so he has started to get into the box a lot more. He passes it off and then runs to the back post which is great. The thing is.. I think we should be playing balls from deep areas for him to knock on into the net instead of from crosses [which he hardly ever scores from].

BthekingB

The thing with Carroll is he has a £35 million price tag over his head, he has been playing a lot better since the turn of the year, but to get the best out of him we need quality wingers and pretty much play route one football, we are not going to do that so i can never see Carroll becoming a massive success here.

If we had paid around £15 million for him he would be giving us what i would expect, a few goals every now and then.

G BOX

If we paid 15 MIL for him, he wouldn't get on the pitch. We'd just get rid for whatever.
He's a £35 mil Player so he more or less has to play.

He will score a goal tomorrow so lay off him . support your team

04 May 2012 17:13:30
Yes thank you for posting my pic on the sighting pages eds! didnt think you would haha!

Anyhow, to all the lucky ones going to wembley tomorrow, please sing your hearts out and get behind the team for the full 90 minutes. Show the plastics what real fans are, win or lose!

Good luck lfc and have a great day if youre going to the game, dont let us down!

Hi all, Evertonian here. Just a quick message to say good luck to you lads tmro, i think you will win, your a big game team, if i was in your shoes i would be more worried about playing a crap team or championship team as you wouldnt turn up (going by performances this season). So i think you have an amazing chance at picking up the trothy. Anyway just thought id say good luck (this isnt a sarcastic message by the way)
Im still gutted we arn't there, but too be honest i think you have a better chance of beating chelsea then we would have done.
Have a great day out and do it for the city.

RobbyMac (bluenose)

Robby, Thank you for you kind words, totally appriciated mate. I really hope we do turn Chelski over at Anfield south.

Bet u,s lot wish u had taken a chance on big jelavic now haha Carroll 35mill jelly 5mill classic

I bet Jelavic wishes we had too.

He'd already have 1 and possibly 2 cup winner medals and would know that things are only gonna get even better next season.

He'll never win a thing at Everton. Just like Moyes (even after all these years).

Seeing as we are in the final tomorrow and carroll was the one who put u bitters out the cup. I think i'll stick with carroll

7m actually blue nose shame your "big man" didn't stop us from getting to the final on Sat...

A lot of talk is about our so called transfer policy, buy them young and talented and delelop them. All very well, but to really develop a player properly we need to give them a lot of playing time, look at Henderson this year, obvious talent but one for the future, at the moment he offers very little to the team, and I believe he is holding us back and that the money would have been better spent on a proper right winger.
But I do believe he will grow into a really good player.
So my question is this, once the first team is settled and we have no more square pegs in round holes, will promising players we bring in be bought and loaned straight back?
I mean if we had bought a right winger last summer Henderson would more than likely spent most of the season on the bench where he still offers very little currently. So would he be better off staying at Sunderland for a year and at least get his head round such a massive move and perhaps work on his game more in a less stressful environment? Or is bringing him here and chucking him in at the deep end the best way to develop a youngster?
It worked for Lucas, will it work for hendo?
The fans want immediate success and that usually means an experienced team with few players still learning the game.
Buying young is obviously the most sporting way to go and if the FFP rules mattered and we didn't have the chelseas and man city's of this world then we would be in a very strong position. I feel we may have to dampen expectations a lot in the coming decade or so. We are not going to be dominant like we used to but I do believe we will get a premier league trophy within 5 years.

Discuss

MIKEY

Yeah, agree with you mate.. players like Carroll & Henderson should have been sent out on loan...

I have no problem in buying youngsters but are we trying to adopt to FFP rules by bringing youngsters for astronomical fees.. don't think its the way to do it..

If Newcastle said we won't sell Carroll for 15/20M then be it we better not buy him.. same goes for Hendo...

I don't think hendo will be/should be on the bench..
he haven't dissapointed me that much when he was playing in the center.
Offers much more than Adam though still lack killer pass, tackling & goal scoring instincts. This will develop as he matures I guess... I would play him in a midfilded of Gerrard & Lucas [not on the right side]

We need to start looking at youngsters from abroad rather than British. ANd stop paying over the odds...

04 May 2012 16:50:40
good luck tomorrow lads we can beat chelsea! i no im gona get loads of disagrees here but i hope kenny stays. i think if we get a cup double then that can be classed as a good season. ok the league has been shocking but ive always thought that 4th was gone after losing to arsenal. but overall lots of attacking and being on top of games we just need another striker n good rm. if kenny can get these positions right we can beat anybody(hopefully even the so called lesser sides ie wigan, fulham lol) rafa had 5 seasons to win us the league n didnt kennys had just 1. so win lose or draw im backin him come on redmen!.......redman matt ps b4 you all slate him if we lose tomoz just remember who this man is. possibly our best ever player n pool thru n thru.

Don't worry mate, Kenny is staying, win or loose.

Next season we'll be a very different prospect in the league and there'll be a lot of people pretending they never called for Kenny out.

Thats okay then 2 cups 8th in the league is a pretty good season and maybe next season we'll win 3 cups and finish 18th and we'll give Kenny a 10year deal.

Why do a lot of posts either started by or commented on by Shed End (or Bell End) as he should be know) end up being removed/deleted?

Is it the responses from Liverpool fans that go over the top or his posts/comments that go over the top? {Ed001's Note - the replies from Liverpool fans mostly I am afraid.}

Damn - that's not good.
I don't like him myself, but can ignore the little **** :-)

I really grate n you lot, almost like you're bitter about having a club in decline or something? Well im afraid its goin to continue lads ive still got another month off work and this has become part of my routine, i just cant wait til tommorow

I hope we get this players this summer:
R.Elm - 8mil.
Olivier Giroud + Younes Belhanda - 30mil.
one of Gaston Ramirez - 16mil. or C.Dempsey - 10mil. and if we sell downing get both.
Giroud is a mix between F.Torres and M.Gomez + big time acrobat moves, he'll be taunted as one of Europe's best strikers for years. Belhanda is the play maker we need and also the guy who unlocks Giroud's full potential.
the players will probably fit our budget after sales.
I Hope we sell this players:
C.Adam
J.Spearing
Maxi
Aquilani
J.Cole
A.Carroll

So Chavs going ahead with plans to build a new 60K stadium. Also on the verge of snatching another young talent from Bundesliga in Andre Schurle. Already got exciting talent in Marko Marin for 7M thats more than enough.

Man United closing on Shinji Kagawa, 7M it would be hell of a purchase. Certainly would hep to increase their reputation and fan base in Asia. While we just dreaming about signing ageing Clint Dempsey.

Arsenal already signed top class in Lukas Podolski & on the verge of signing Jan Verthongen.

People say stop moaning & whining but how come we... we are struggling in 8th with the back of 110M or so spending in summer with most expensive of them being so so disappointing. Its very clear most of the summer flops along with some oldies needs to be shipped out & new quality players needed but no sign of anything yet.
Yes the transfer window has not yet started but if our rivals are getting ready for next season they why we should not ... ANd to my concern Eds are saying they don't expect us to spend much. I believe with out spending 40/50m on new players irrespective of what we get from sales our squad won't be quality enough to finish in top 4. + with the fact our top 4 rivals are getting better day by day.

also still no sign of any info or decision on stadium issue.. arrghhh

Yeah we are in the Fa cup final and we 'll be playing tomorrow. we have won Carling cup.. but that must not be an excuse for our poor league form. The players brought in were just not good enough.

And this so called Stewart Downing saying don't blame me/ the new signings.. hillarious.. what do they think? they earn 40K/60K per week.. and we poor fans who didn't earn that much in months spend our hard earned money on watching them play, don't get the enjoyment and happiness we deserve. Pretty sure these big heads won't feel a thing after a defeat wrt what we feel after a disappointing performance.
We need to get rid of these players who don't know what it means to wear the red jersey.. no passion or no desire to win. may be its the problem with manager .. taking a softer stance towards his under performing big money flops & his way of making ridiculous lame excuses after every disappointing performance...

well good luck for the final tomorrow! Just make sure you bring home the title , nothing more expected from you lot... it's the only way to save your faces..

Bosco

My God, I've lost all my optimism and passion for tomorrows final after reading that. Do you listen to talk sport by any chance? Well, I needed an early night and that has done the trick (aside from the potential night-mares) and the missus can do-one if she thinks I would even consider rising to the occasion after reading that.

DaveyBootle

If anyone knows Bosco - keep him away from the river

Puzzled

Unfortunatley bosco it's a sad state of affairs when 5 Idiots disagree with the truth, I guess its these people from all over the world who are scared to speak thier mind or state the obvious that sit inside anfield every week and make it such a dull, life less place..
dave

Bosco, I couldn't care less about this "Asian fanbase" nonsense. I couldn't care less about how many shirts a player sells over in China, or how much Stewart Downing does or doesn't get paid each week.

All I'm interested in my friend, is watching Liverpool win trophies. Hopefully we will have another reason to smile tomorrow.

Lol, Chelsea can't fill a 60k stadium even when their team is in a final.

Hi Eds. I don't visit any other page except this one, but I'm wondering. Which team's management gets more stick from the fans > Chelsea's for buying Torres for 50Mil or ours for buying Carroll for 35Mil ? Kind of silly, but just wondering, anyways....... ra1969 {Ed002's Note - Liverpool's by a mile.}

Of course it would be Liverpool,
Liverpool owners are not Abramovich.. they don't have endless amount of money to spent... Abramovich can spend another 50M if he wishes thats not the case with Liverpool.. we have got little money compared to Chelsea and if we don't spend it wisely we have more concern than the Chavs.

If we were to lose the Final - (And I don't think we will) but if we do, it will be interesting to see what kind of reception Dalglish gets when Liverpool have to go up to get their medals from Henry and Werner. Watch for Mr Henry's facial expression.

What you talking about , give your head a wobble stop being negative , DIV !

Watch for his facial expression? That boy's got a poker face!

Hey Shed End,
I've just been reading on the BBC where Chelsea are wanting to move into the old, disused and former Battersea Power Station Site to build a new ground.
They would have to retain the 4 x chimneys which, a Chelsea spokesman has said, "would form an interesting and traditional architectural feature".
I think it's extremely laudable that Chelsea will carry on this tradition - spewing out sh1te to pollute the football landscape.
Maybe you could also exchange the tracksuits for boiler suits ?
The Real KB {Ed002's Note - They would not be looking to play inside the power station KB.}

Oh ed, and here's me thinking each pair of chimneys would be the respective goal posts so that Senor Torres would be able to do a Messi and get 70 goals a season !
The Real KB

Wow thats some poor, long winded banter. Back to the drawing board mate

SHED END

I think the chimneys would make it very distinctive. This is potentially a great move for Chelsea.

We need to get a move on.

Lol, you'd know all about that Shed.
The Real KB

I can't believe Abramovich is to demolish Stamford Bridge.

8-years of history gone just like that!

JRG

Hope your armchair is comfortable, should be ok because its where you watch all your football.Perhaps you should change your name from Shed End to My Living Room would be more appropriate.

Hi Ed's

Can someone explain to me why our wage bill is £12 higher than last season, how much are we paying Downing, Adam, Carroll & Hendo?
Does anyone else feel depressed when Kenny talks to the media? Like today putting finals over finance and top-four finishes for Liverpool, if another LFC manager said that everyone would get on there backs.

Not scared to say what I feel! {Ed002's Note - The accounts are for last year not this year - so relate to 2010-2011 when the likes of El Zhar etc were still on the books.}

Check your facts 1st

Wages only up 12 pound, thats very good

@edd002
I'm told this years accounts are going to get worse than the £49,4m.

Sorry 12 million lol

its kind of a funny day today.... there are the group who says Dempsey is deffo coming, then you have the ones who are 100% sure giroud is, next there are the group that say Luuk De Jong is coming. oh ya cant forget about the belhanda ones either! and they are all they telling each other off for being an idiot....

personally of the three id take de jong. there is a great chance. but we haven't moved for him so i'm not gonna say he is nailed on lol. JLFC

Take a step back and compare with last year at the same exact time.... I clearly remember only English (or British) names being bandied about for transfer targets, while this year there is almost none around. Almost all targets are non English players (except maybe Matt Phillips)...ra1969

whatever happens I hope Kenny does NOT play Carragher tomorrow, the guys finished too slow and is prone to making far too many mistakes. Thanks but no thanks now a squad player if that!
Agger and Skrtel in centre johnson and Enrique full backs.

If carra plays and we loose he will be sacked on sat night.

We can hope, but come tomorrow,we all know he will be playing, when he plays,we nearly always lose, kenny can't say no..

Thanks to Purslow, Carra was awarded a 2 yr extension to his contract On the Eve of the takeover, which runs out next season, so get use to him still being around. He's not going anywhere.

04 May 2012 14:18:28
My team for tomorrow
Reina
Gj. Skrtle. Coats. Enrique
Agger. Gerrard
Downing. Suarez. Bellamy
Carroll

Befor you anti Carroll start slating. He wouldn't be alone because this formation could give Gerard a free roaming roll which is when he plays best he. Suarez and Bellamy can all rotate and take turns supporting Carroll and having agger as a dm could utilise his footballing ability which is pretty good and I think he and Gerard could really dominate the midfield he could also drop back and allow the fullbacks to get forward

Eric the red

Spot on there eric, would love to see agger as dm whilst lucas is out. wont happen though am afraid, got a horrible feeling he's gonna play carra.

Only 1 recognised CM and you would have him 'free roaming'. Nice

According to rabid Liverpool basher Mark Saggers on Talks**te this week Liverpool are just about finished as a top football club after discussing yesterdays financial results and a discussion on Tuesday about Roy Hodgson becoming England manager turned into 2 hours of Saggers, Paddy Barclay and Stewart Robson slagging off Liverpool FC for removing this decent man and 'great' coach last year. Surely its about time that radio station was renamed Chelsea Radio with Saggers, Jason Cundy, Sam Matterface and Andy Jacobs all having clear affinities towards the Russian oligarchs plaything.

It's a commercial radio outfit “ just don't tune in to the garbage “ without listeners it will lose adverts and either change its outlook or close down “ and never waste your money phoning in, that just keeps them going for longer

That Andy Jacobs has to be the worst of the bunch. What an out and out tool. My opinion of him is not only borne out by his irritating attitude to LFC but his general arrogant up his own backside attitude to life. The only decent slot on Talksport is with Gray and Keays.

Ozone

To be fair micky Quinn and stan collymoore show a lot of support for us, and even Adrian Durham has been supportive lately.

If we had put our chances away , I think we could realistically be challenging for top 4.

Roy went because he was useless.
He bought koncheskey and poulson , need I say more.

We will see what they are saying when we fail to get out of the group stage in the euros.
Then fail to qualify for the world cup!!

LAVERS

There are other radio stations available so if you do not like then switch off/over my friend.

Personally, it does not bother me what they say as if they were truly respected for their views then they would be with a more prestigious media outlet.

Dirks Engine Room

Wow im supprised so many of you listen to that boll*cks!

PDUK

Keys and Gray are dreadful. Always laughing at their own unfunny jokes. Micky Quinn is just there for a comic turn. Collymore and Durham are ok at times, but the station has lost its charm and broader appeal since the likes of Mike Parry and James Whale left the station since programme Director Moz Dee took over in 2008.

So talks**te are also offering financial advice to football clubs now, very worrying times. The reported loss for Liverpool last year looks bad in the cold light of day but most people (myself included) have no idea what most of it means, however i'll admit that whereas many of these 'football experts' comment on matters they clearly know nothing about.

I must admit sometimes they are very convincing in their claims that Liverpool are done, but then you have to sit back and look past the league table, the club boast one of the most financial rewarding sponsorship deals in the league, the same goes for the brand new kit manufacturers. Oh and not to mention 'average clubs' (whatever that means) don't come within one game of winning two cups in one season.

And one last thing can we all stop bitching and moaning at each other weather you be pro or anti Kenny, weather you think Carra should start or not can we all just get behind Liverpool for what is a massive game this weekend and support the lads now when they need it most.

always a red

Is Saggers the guy who supports Posh?

If that's the one I'm thinking of, his voice has to be the most monotonous, mind knumbingly boring on radio. He rambles on in that same tone, always something negative. If it's not Liverpool it's Arsenal, or a relegation candidate. Since when was football so depressing? And don't get me started on Jeremy Vine from Radio 2, Jesus Christ he just doesn't stop.

Adam

I love that. If we'd put our chances away we would be top four. If I had a penis I would be a man. But I haven't

Adrian Durham supports the Posh. But Saggers is very posh. He says he supports Cambridge but wet dreams when talking about Chelsea.

Hi Ed 002, hope your enjoying the States. I was just wondering as Chelsea fan, and therefore with no biased opinion towards Liverpool (red tinted glasses), if you were given £100 free bet today to lay on 3 liverpool signings this summer, who would you be putting it on?
I appreciate this is just a bit of fun, and you will probably not reply as people will hold you to it anyway. Just interested in your opinion as your aware of the talk of players to other clubs to.
Hope the weather is better over there.

SUAREZ GOAL AT NORWICH
luis suarez goal is lagging behind in the goal of the season voting on sky sports . com if it was beckhams goal or van persie it would be all the rage were are all the redmen get voting for luis show him hes appreciated by us at least bob paisleys skids {Ed001's Note - surely we should just vote for the best goal not the one we are biased towards? That's why these votes are a joke, they get rigged by people.}

No offence but his goal doesn't deserve to win. Cisse or Crouch or Ben arfa for me.

Suarez's, Crouchs & Cisse's goals were all class ..it's not about being biased...if someone votes for any of these goals i think it's their own wish... {Ed001's Note - I am not sure if you are talking to me or not, but in case you are I will answer it. I was meaning his call to vote for Suarez to show our appreciation of him, that is not what the vote should be about. Like you said, all 3 goals were quality, let's just let the vote be about which is the best.}

Ben arfa's was good but not amazing. not even above Van Persie for me. suarez, though brilliant, has to be demoted to third, and i just can't pick it between crouch and cisse

Cisses goal only looks so good cos it bends so much...but lets face it he didnt mean it. He was obviously trying to bend it into the near post not the far post but got too much bend on it. its a miss hit! (a good looking one though.)

Red Pete II

What did you make of Cisse's goal ed001 ?
I can appreciate he caught it well, and it was a shot, but there's no intent at all to do what happened. The swerve on it. If it had been a dead ball free kick, then OK.
But he's just lashed at that, for me.
That'll go in like that once out of a thousand, probably even less.
The Real KB {Ed001's Note - isn't that what makes it special though? That it will probably never happen again.}

I personally think his 2nd goal of the hat-trick was the better of the three, pace, power & pin point accuracy!! Anfield South beckons tomorrow, lets get behind the team!

'a system to consider'

friendly chat and banter before the final only please, the internet doom & gloom keyboard warriors on here that consistantly moan can do one!

with the arrival of hodgson as the england manager and the likely demise of glen johnson as it's current right back(just my opinion) i'd like to see the club maybe consider the 3-4-3 system used at barca and noticably of late by martinez at wigan. a perfect opportunity for kelly to play on the right side of a back 3(his natural position) with johnson on the right of him. this system would allow johnson and enrique to do what they do best, bombing down the wings.

utilising the squad next season without major upheavals.

-------------------reina

--------kelly-----skrtel-------agger

johnson--------------------------enrique
-----------gerrard------lucas

------suarez--(carroll??)--(bellamy?)
-----------------/de jong------/ramirez

as things stand i feel it could get the best out of the current squad and the possible arrivals being touted. de jong, belhanda, ramirez, elm and maybe isla and co would lift the weight of expectancy off johnson, gerrard, suarez, carroll and bellamy's shoulders.

i know injuries play a huge part in seasons but hand on my heart, i believe that 11 players could compete way above the position we currently sit in especially with a few arrivals and integrating sterling, shelvey, henderson, suso and co(slowly).
i put suarez to the right because i feel he does his best work coming in. he did so at ajax and as norwich found out a couple of games ago.
if we looked at each individual player i think you'd be hard pressed to say that they're not playing in their natural areas in which they thrive and are most comfortable and it also gives balance to the team. a system that is hard to break down when in defence but also allows the players to press in attack.

is this an invitation for martinez to get the hot seat at lfc? certainly not, but i'm certain it'd be his take on the players available at lfc and possibly even guardiola.

on a final note to this system, i wont' be surprised if kenny plays 3 centre backs tomorrow. he's done it before against chelsea.

s.p

Have to say i did not read all of your post :) but i must say the formation and team selection could be a winner next season

James

I can understand your point s.p but i think its more likely and frankly better that wr play 4 at the back and sell johnson

my team for cup final

Reina
Kelly Skrtel Agger Johnson
Bellamy Henderson Gerrard Downing
Carrol Suarez

Subs Doni Carra Coates Enrique Shelvey Spearing Kuyt

I think we will win 2-1 after extra time Suarez and Downing will score, everyone put £10 on it.

My team would be this mate

Reina

Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique

Downing Gerrard Henderson Shelvey Bellamy

Saurez

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Ps. I wouldn't be surprised if Carragher started.

Would play gerrard off Suarez as I think Chelsea could over run lfc in midfield as they will play three in their and mata will come inside of the flank and play behind Torres or drogba

Team I reckon Kenny puts out:

Reina
Johnson Skrtel Carra Agger Enrique
Downing Gerrard Spearing Hendo Bellamy
Suarez

I reckon he will tell Spearing to keep an eye on Mata.

Jatt YNWA

I would play carra in midfield instead of spearing.

Jatt i don't think Kenny will start with 12 men on the pitch!

04 May 2012 12:11:52
as a liverpool supporter, i got to say that there are 2 reasons why we need to win the fa cup. 1 is because of the disgusting chants from the chelsea supporters during the minute silence, we want revenge and 2 is because kenny needs to prove the critics wrong. but in my opinion, we might not win tomorrow because of our form lately. also players such as spearing, downing, henderson, adam, kuyt, maxi and shelvey, are not going to help us win matches. i know that this is a negative post but i just don't know what will happen if we lose tomorrow. what do you guys think?.

That's a good point about the minutes silence.

I dont think form will be a factor for this match especially given our history in cups. If we Lose i'd Expect KK wont be our manager for next season

04 May 2012 11:54:53
Can someone explain explain why we are getting rid of 31 year old Kuyt for 29 year old Dempsey?
They both have a career average of about 1 goal in 4 matches (although Kuyt hit about 70 in 100 in the dutch league and we have used him out wide).
Dempsey has had a good run this year but there is nothing to suggest from his other seasons that he is consistantly prorlific?
In reality could Gerrard not play this role?
RNred

Because kuyt has no pace, can't take a man on, can't deliver a cross and fails to score from any further than 5 yards and has scored 2 goals all season. Sure he works hard but that simply doesn't hack it.

Where as Dirk seems to be getting worse with age, Dempsey seems to be getting better. Dempsey has a sure touch, two good feet, a burst of acceleration, versatility, and gets goals. Dirk is sadly losing these qualities. Just my opinion.

Of all the people I wish Roy brought with him from Fulham, Clint Dempsey was the one I wanted!

And you're right, of our current options, Gerrard should be stationed on the right, why he hasn't I don't know

RedSG

My opinion is that we should take Dembele over Dempsey.

Dembele draws in defenders and then releases Dempsey to run into the space created, he does it time and time again, game after game.

It's been a Fulham trademark this season that Martin Jol seems to have drilled into his team tactics.

He can play out wide, in the middle or as a front man, oh and he's five years younger.

Dempsey is a clever player,as he finds the space between the lines.Ha i'm sounding like Rafa .

Why not buy both ,think dembele is gonna be a beast of a player simmo71

04 May 2012 11:41:46
In the last 4 years Liverpool FC have a Net spend on players of £22m (that includes carroll and co). Whilst Chelsea have spent £150m and City £400m. Maybe you should bare this in mind before bitching and moaning about our manager and players.

Where fans not owners. If the club makes a profit or not is irrelevant to us. We just want the trophies. At the moment Kenny is delivering and as long as he continues to deliver let the men at the top worry about the revenue a top 4 place brings.

Building takes time. Before anyone replies "look at Newcastle" they cleared all their overpaid, under achieving and selfish players in the championship and 3 seasons on they are now in a stable financial position and pushing for top 4. Yes they have brought in quality players cheaply but they are what has pushed there strong foundations forward. Players like colchini, Taylor, guiteriez, are either young or were written off when they arrived. And are now delivering.

Compare what they did to what we done this summer. Cleared out all the overpaid pre madonna's slashed the wage bill and put a foundation of young players in place. Yes we dropped in the league but not out of it. We have also been back to wembely (was cardiff) for the first time in 6 years and stand 1 game away from a second trophy. We have secured European football and stand on a very strong financial footing going forward.

This was always going to be a tough season but now is not the time to calling for the managers head. Those of you who go the match and suffered the performances (not results) of hodgson will know last season we were out played by the likes of blackpool as well as beaten by them. This season that's not the case. Up until 4th was out the question and the FA cup became the priority we destroyed near enough every team that turned up at anfield including the likes of united, city, spurs and arsenal.

It's obvious a few things are missing like the ability to convert the numerous chances. But the fact the chances are being created is a very positive thing and something to build on.

Let's not turn our club into a manager merry go round. Let's support them and cheer them on. Let's see what the summer delivers.

Excellent post.

I'm with you brother!

Amen..

Lee YNWA

Good post, youngsters take note!.

Spot on mate.

P.S Is the net spend of £22mill a correct figure? I'm mindful of the fact that we haven't spent a great deal over the last 4-5 years but wasn't aware that it was so little in terms of modern day spending. You could argue that Stoke have spent more.

5 conseecutive windows were more was raised than spent.

Some might think that this ensures the validity of the rumour, but in my experience, a rumour can start from anywhere, and quickly grows into a monster before the myth is revealed as nothing more than that.

The Clint Dempsey rumour however, is likely to be true. American, can score goals, PL 'proven' (for what that is worth) and won't cost 30 million (but Fulham will know Liverpool will pay 20 million). I can really see this one coming off, and would be a good addition, but at what position? Striker? Left wing? He isn't a winger and he isn't a lone striker really. My worry is that he has adapted well to the Fulham plan, and may not be as proficient with a new system. On the flip side, he does well with US national team, though they aren't exactly new to him either.

Thanks. (FYI, I did use search function for Elm, but am still not clear why he is on everyone's wishlist now).

Coop

Be fair just because you know nothing about him does not mean he would not be a good signing.
How many Newcastle fans had heard of or wanted the signing of Papis Cisse.

Derek

Apologies Derek, I wasn't implying he wasn't any good. I simply want to know more about him. I am on this site frequently and have not heard the name before.

Coop

If indeed we are chasing Dempsey, personally i think he would be a good signing. He is exactly what we need a midfielder who can score and create and proven in the premier league provided we dont pay an outrageuos figure for him.

JCRed

Good player, but not for us.

04 May 2012 11:18:15
I hope we won't sign Clint Dempsy because he is old and would only add another average plaer to what is currently an average squad

Alright Eds and supporters,
Must say i'm really looing forward to tomorrow! I have a gut feeling that we'll lift that trophy and know our lads can do it.
I believe to win this, we'll have to start off with a fast attacking tempo because if we let Chelsea dictate the pace that's when we'd be in trouble. Unlike the Fulham match, we need to press them high up the pitch and make sure they don't get a clear run towards goal.
I honestly think Suarez will be really hungry for a goal tomorrow but i also expect him to be very animated haha.
let's hope we do this which will give us more belief for next season...not to mention our 2nd trophy of the year.
Y.N.W.A
Keep up the good work Eds and good luck tomorrow Ed002 (just not too much luck!)

I just thought I'd like to bring up an interesting point about how our season has gone so far. We are in 8th place on 49 points, it sounds abysmal when we put it that way. People call for heaps of improvement to come in, but I honestly don't see the need for another 5-6 players that people are mentioning. First of all, we are 16 points behind that 4th place spot, once again, it sounds abysmal, but with the luck that we've had this season, its not at all suprising.

We've hit the post, what? 30+ times this season? And how many chances have we missed which were begging for us to hit them in? Remember that United-Liverpool game we drew 1-1 at Anfield? Those last minute saves from De Gea is what kept us away from the win, 14 points away. That Manchester City game that was 1-1, once again City were extremely lucky to cling on to that win with the chances that we had. Thats 12 points, now imagine 20 of those 30 times we hit the post went in? We're fighting for the Champions League spots.

Sure, I've been frustrated like heck this season. I think I started to rage around after that woeful loss to Fulham where we showed absolutely nothing and Anfield was dead silent.

Sure, this season can be looked at as a failure, but its only because luck decided that it doesn't want to be on our side. Next season, with the addition of a striker, I can't wait to see us fight for the top. We may not have the richest owners, but we do have the best.

Till then, us fans have some roaring to do tomorrow. YNWA

RenegadeRed

I read an article but unfortunately can't remember the details. It seemed to show other teams having just as bad luck with the post and crossbar, one of them being Barcelona who still ended up with a crazy amount of points and goals.Granted they have amazing players but the point im trying to make is that you create your own luck.I was slated back in nov/dec time when everyone was saying that the goals will come, we have been unlucky and i said what god given right does that give us for our fortunes to change, they could actually get worse. And they did.Luck plays a part but Liverpool's problem are more fundamental imo.
Galls

And if one of Everton, Spurs, Stoke, Wigan or Wolves had won every single one of their games they would have won the title.

And they say that these things even themselves out over a season ?
I'm which case, we'll have nothing to worry about on Saturday. Chelsea will hot the woodwork 22 times and we'll score a breakaway at the end.
The Real KB
ps, anyone got a ticket to sell. I'm getting desperate now ! Lol. Will cut your hedge for the next 12 years in exchange..?

I agree fully, another detail you missed was the Suarez Ban.

Suarez was banned for 9 games in a row, 8 for racism (silly boy) and 1 for flipping the bird to the fulham crowd.

9 Games is just under a quarter of the season and the ban commenced around the january transfer period if i recall correctly. This would surely have a direct effect on form by being out for that long.

He has still managed to score 17 goals (11 in the PL) so the way i see it, if he behaves next season he will be getting alot more friendly with the back of the net.

We need a little tweaking of the team, cut loose the people that dont want to help Liverpool climb back up the table and bring in 2 wingers and a striker to add much needed attacking options, something that crippled us most of this season.

And stop playing Henderson out of position... It makes no sense!

Josh LFC

And what makes you think our luck will change next season? Over a few games or a few months, yes. Over a season no...it's nothing to do with luck, it's a lack in quality.

Dalston Red

No matter what anyone says, it's not bad luck when you hit the post or crossbar, it's bad aiming. If you shoot on target and the keeper saves it, you are unfortunate, at least you got it on target. The goalposts never move, if you hit them you haven't aimed properly.

Eds/Macca - Regarding the stadium designs, which one are we actually looking at? AFL came up with two designs...
1) First genration Anfiled - this was the crappy bowl shaped design...

2) New generation anfield - this was the higher capacity design with a single tier Kop...much better atmosphere me reckons...

Both designs were from the original manchester based company asked to design a new stadium...

Just read a comment from ED002 ( a lady I hold in the highest regard ) referring to some of the spewing hatred that the site receives after a draw or a loss. It made me think.

Is this a modern thing that has only come to light as a result of the internet, or have these types of supporters always been part of our club ?

As most of you know, Im old school and was born in an era where everyone was taught the most basics of humanity by a loving mother and father, attributes that have stayed with me all my life and distinguish us from the animals.... honesty and respect for everyone.

At times my halo has slipped and Ive made a few mistakes in my time, if Im honest.

But there is one thing that has never changed in my life and that is to show hatred or vile obscenities TO ANYONE no matter who they are, who they support or where they are from.

This therefore leads me to believe that the hatred the poor EDs get after a loss or a draw are from people who deep down are sick or just nasty people and in my view are not fit to be called Liverpool supporters.

Hatred or vile comments should never part of a Liverpool football club supporters vocabulary. Yes we are passionate, yes we have strong views, and yes at times we may criticise either our players, manager or owners.... but guys we can do all these things without resorting to filthy vile comments about ANYONE.

We can do it with wit and prose and use our intelligence to get even the strongest of points across. Humour is a great leveller and breaks down antagonism and hatred. Over the decades Liverpool supporters have always been loved for our sharp sense ot humour. Our very own King Kenny shows similar traits, in all his interviews too.

Please give the EDs an easy life, they are magnificent in their even handed assesments every day, and I for one love this site and despair when I see posts filled with moaning supporters and spewing hatred at everyone, just because we lost or drew. Grow a pair and start acting with some pride, its only a game of football after all !

The joys about being a supporter for our wonderful club includes highs and lows....

STOP IT PLEASE, enjoy your life, have fun ..... but most importantly, show honour, decency and respect for everyone....especially our much loved EDs

( ....typed from hand written notes passed to me from ED002 )

Tel 1949 {Ed001's Note - I just hope 002's serfs wrote legibly for you, or she will have them whipped and hung from the yard arm.....}

Good post TEL.
same as you, my upbringing based on simple morals and crucial life lessons of empathy & respect for others.
unfortunatley, the social media savvy world we live in now enables anyone to have an opinion, both rightly & wrongly, sat behind a screen & keyboard for protection.
Banter is exactly what it should be, i have shared many saturday & sundays with everton, manu, city, spurs, newcastle fans pulling on our own shirts and going out as one, but always with respect for each other and the other team.
i could probably guarantee the bulk of comments aimed with abuse & vile on here are from the settee brigade with there pad for a playstation/xbox in hand picking who they want, playing away ofter 3 straight days glued to it, win the league then say to themselves " why cant carroll score goals like that for real".

i can remember my first trip to anfield when i was 8, my dad, brother and next door neighbour went. next door neighbour was a staunt nottingham forest fan, that day he adopted us as his second team on the basis of us having a kickaround outside stanley park with some lads ( not sure if they were going to the game ) he had travelled a lot with forest, but never saw anything like this.

i think the point i am trying to put across now, is the whole attitude towards football is different. so cut throat, commercial, no personal feel to it any more. enabling prats to spout off, because they can !

agree, lay off the ED`s ( specially ED001, right temper on that one :0) they all do a terefic job, and keep steady banter and comments flowing, why?
because they enjoy the BANTER!.
Piddy {Ed001's Note - I am very sweet me, honest!}

I totally agree Tel 1949, I think it is a modern day thing, almost like road rage on steroids. The sad thing is if you saw many of the people who are most aggressive or abusive on the internet in real life I think you maybe shocked (Richard Bacon did a documentary on trolls, which was really sad). I think a lot of the fans who are so angry need to youtube YNWA with lyrics and attempt to understand what it means! We have got rid of H&G and are moving forward with hope in our hearts.
Roll on tomorrow!
K79

I am not that bothered about moans and groans - if you can't bitch to fellow fans who can you bitch to?
No..what gets me is how few on here (and the other sites) seem able to get through a post without resorting to swearing ...they must take ages to decide where to put the asterisks so that the eds will let the post stand..Why not just use normal language, which you could use in front of women and children too?

Puzzled

Its heartening to see that the old morals are still there guys...thank you for giving me faith in the future !

Agger and skrtel are far better partnership

This is kennys main problem he is too sentimental

It about results not a good story

hi. lfc fan for 43 years here.
ive seen posts from certain posters saying some other posters are moaner's .
some facts here for the non moaners . we have the second worse home form in the pl only wolves are below us .. we are mid table in all other peramiters of the pl .
my point is blind support of whats happening is not what lfc need if we carry our post christmas form to next season its bye bye pl i find that unexeptable for a club i live for .
i dont no the answer to getting us where we should be there was a time when i thought kenny should walk i find myself thinking that maybe not the answer i.
i would however think the coach we got from west ham has coinsided with our dip in form and would like mr a borrell (spelling maybe) being a first team coach would be a good idea .
finally i dont see myself as a moaner i want our club where they should be and i cant vent my anger at the owners because the ones we have are very good in my opinion ..
thanks to all incuding the rosey spec wearing faction .. ps sock it to chelsea saturday lads leave them bankers ect teary eyed be well all mal...

So you are moaning then

Not moaning i just dont accept a liverpool team being so poor nor should any true lfc fan . its not good enough the rosey specs folk i illuded to maybe manu fans or something but being a club in freefall is unsatisfactory and all liverpool fans should find it so

Thank god half the people who write on rid page, don't run our club of any club for that matter! Honestly half of what I hear on this is pathetic! Everyone out, this seasons been crap ect. 2 cup finals!! This season was all about rebuilding. Also this whole I just seen so and so on YouTube........ You do know that's their best bits? Name 1 football star who was picked because of YouTube!

This League season has been "crap"! Don't let 2 finals cloud your judgement. Given the amount that has been invested, the squad should have been able to compete on all fronts competitively, and not be so affected by injuries when they've occurred.

The target set was to qualify for the Champions League, we're nowhere near that. 2 Cup wins (hopefully!) would be a successful season, winning 2 out of 3 competitions entered, but I'm not sure whether I'd call it progress given how far away we are from the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle!

Been reliably told that the forthcoming TV documentary is pretty much going to be a vehicle for the owners to show the world how much of a power Liverpool are going to be - And possibly a bit of an ego trip for FSG.

This will include the following - Hiring new people and Firing underperforming parts of the club, which as we've all seen is already beginning. They will use the doc to document FSG delivering the new stadium plans & the beginning of building, Showing the world the sort of financial powers Liverpool will eventually have. Signing new players and ruthlessly culling players who don't fit the plans.

This is all just conjecture, But think its very possible that this could be true.

Jonny

What a load of rubbish...

Think of the opposites it could do to the club as well Jonny!
would be ok if only aired in USA,power is everything over there. we are the peoples club, i think focus will be more of an insight to parts nobody on the terraces will ever see? maybe a last glimpse before it all goes for new stadium?

So basically The Aprentice LFC ? MORE LIKELY that there looking to Raise the profile of Lfc in America and other parts of the globe that are Americanised (tv wise), thus giving Lfc a wider scope in revenue and investment.

Hear me out here,
There are a lot of names being thrown around and opinions being expressed on who to purchase. However a real problem which many including myself consider is that there's too many players to one position. If we were to buy another striker, what would be consequences and is it worth it? Remember, Carroll is still a very young player compared to many others in the team and he will more than likely NOT be sold because he still needs time to adjust. So there's a forward who's staying already... Then there's Suarez, and people complaining about his problems etc... get over it. If you think he's a pig you shouldn't be backing liverpool because us fans back EVERYONE who wears the Liverpool colours, not just a few. He is by FAR our most creative player and skillfull this season and it would be a real shame to see him leave. And on these grounds, i cannot see him leaving either.

The only forwards who are possible of leaving the club are Maxi, Kuyt, Pacheco and maybe a few other youth players.

This leaves you with two strikers already, yes we've been poor this season but why should be buy another striker we have two very good forwards whether you'll admit it or not.

Our problem is creativity.
Suarez up front - there's a tick
Gerrard behind the striker - another tick
Downing - another
G.RAMIREZ - new signing maybe, tick
BELHANDER - if you've seen the lad play, case rested.
ELM/SUSAETA - linked with us, good players and both show creativity.

Whether you like these decisions or not, I can guarantee you that until we have creativity in our side, we will be stuck where we are. Those players listed above would add that very ingredient but of course there are many others who I'm sure whoever reads this will think of (bare in mind, realistic)..

However if the club were to invest in another striker, I would make sure theyre cheap yet reliable. There's no point spending another 20 million on a striker who have the characteristics which Carroll or Suarez already have. Examples of cheap forwards who would be STEALS:
- Welliton
- Jackson Martinez

I hope this post sends through because I am very interested in to what others think.

Just another Banter...
{Ed002's Note - I think your thought about the Liverpool fans supporting everyone who plays for Liverpool is miles wide of the mark. Visit after a draw or loss and see the spewing hate about Dalglish, Adam, Henderson, Downing ....}

I see where you are coming from eds, it really isn't fair that fans have to pay to see poor performances, they want their money worth. However Dalglish and Downing should be kept... at least for one more season?

I think there has to be another striker bought, if saurez was to get injured or banned, lets face it he can be a bit of a loose cannon at times, would we really be that dependant on carroll to get the goals, fair enough he's young and i think he will come good but we need compitition for places in the team, with kuyt, maxi and a few others leaving we also need creativity as you've mentioned, the names you have put up seem weel within our means and not a bad shout

Creative players are going to love playing the the ball in to a Centre Forward who has no instant control. This is the main skill of any class forward/goalscorer having instant control buys you the time to get your shot away also great movement will get you free headers at goal. No matter how many balls are played into the box this is not happening upfront for us! "So Wake up!" We have plenty of assistants but no end product.

Eds you have said that fc porto have made only 7m profit by winning euorpa league. Is these profits vary country to country and club to club. Assume that a club like liverpool with good fan base around the world wins the euorpa leage . Then will liverpool made more profits or made almost same like profits as made by porto.
RED INDIAN. {Ed002's Note - Winning the Europa League would likely bring in something heading for 10M euros. The winnings are fixed and do not vary club-to-club.}

Champions league finalists get up to £35 mil right Ed?

Papa G {Ed002's Note - Rather more than that. Chelsea will be paid about 60M eruos for winning 50M pounds) and slightly less if they don't.}

Wow. makes me think how bad our last owners were considering we got to 2 finals. were the hell did that money go. in there back pockets

£50 million ed002? Is this just prize money or a cumulative figure for tv revenue, gate receipts and prize money etc? Cheers

Suarez Giroud

Couldn't agree more. Wouldn't cost the earth either, probably 40 million.

LOL! And how do you know they would make an impact? Mere conjecture, dude. They may come to us and become pants like the other british newcomers. There is no way of telling these things, mate.

Saw so many match of all 3 player and all 3 of them is Quality player. fast young and have very good record in field this year.

LOL! British new comers are utter crap, overrated, over hyped.

I would choose Giroud ahead of Carroll any day, Susaeta ahead of Downing, Ramirez ahead of Henderson & Elm ahead of Adam.

Even if some of them fail to impress we shouldn't have to cry over for loss of 35m & 20M + we will have more chance of recouping money if we decide to sell em..

10/15M crap for me is way better than record breaking 35M/20M crap..

I wouldn't hold this much grudge against these British crap if they were brought for far less money say 15M for Carroll, Downing 12M, Hendo 10m like wise...

Hi Ed's great site!
In regards to rafa, how come when asked u say no! To him coming back? he clearly wants to and with money to spend could do wonders for the club.
I feel this is crunch time for Liverpool to get the top players in! {Ed005's Note - For a start Rafa wouldn't work under a director of football. He would want sole control. Secondly, I don't think FSG would actually be happy with his willingness to hand players any wage they want among other things. I can't see it happening.}

And thirdly, he failed to land EPL title in six years, so why should he be given another 5 or 6 years?

Rafa should be better suited for the job Dictator of football at the club.

LOL! Go Forward, Rafa's past no coming back...

I still find it hard to stomach over the Alonso business too.

Cuchulainn's Hounds

I won't forgive him for that embarrassing rant about Man Utd, which totally undermined our title challenge. Fergie must have been wetting himself with laughter.

Are we going to have 10 more years of stadium indecision ? as much as i was glad to see these yanks after the disaster of the last ones, I am starting to wonder are we just a means to an end for them like all other highly profiteering capitalists...dont get me wrong, let them make their profit providing they are keeping their end of the bargain, but a couple of cup wins(if thats the case) are not going to shape the future of our club, the stadium issue is. Some may think im being impatient but Ian Ayres interview actually made me feel less, rather than more confident of a long term satisfactory solution to the stadium question..strange rhetoric being used to appease the Liverpool family is very UNNERVING.

Red Til Dead

Youre being impatient.

Oh eds, i have a question that came to me reading other posts...

You know how Newcastles ground has naming rights of the sports direct arena. Can they sue people like sky and bbc, as they keep calling it st james park?

I ask because, even though i want our new stadium to be anfield, i dont generally mind it being named something else? as long as we, like the geordies, know our home is Anfield, reporters can call it anfield, and it will return to anfield after the deal runs out. So yeah, by law, do they have to call it the sports direct arena? i know if i was CEO i would kick up every time they called it St james...

Ben the red {Ed005's Note - I'm not sure if they could or not to be honest - in all honesty I don't think there would be much of a case anyway. Calling a place St.James's park for years and years then a name change - simple memory.}

How good is James Rodriguez and does LFC have any interest in him?

{Ed022's note - There is a player profile on him mate, be sure to have a look. www.player-profiles.co.uk}

So Belhanda looks almost a certain?

Watched few youtube vids and have been reading up on him, i have come to my own opinion. I believe he is...

Quick
Moderatly skill full
Great agility - like he can turn sharp and high speed
Sweet striker of the ball
Great, really great, vision of the football pitch
Weight of pass and atticipation of his team mates movements is quality.

I can really see him adding quality to the squad, however i dont think he will be a 15goal a season midfieder, i think he will create many opportunitys for others.

Im excited...hope he signs :)

i think Liverpool should go dutch

Right Back: Van Der Wiel
Defensive Midfielder: Nigel De Jong
Winger: Elia on seasonal loan with view to buy...or Afellay.
Striker: Luuk De Jong or Huntelaar

All these players are available the hardest would be Huntelaar but he's second choice to luuk. van der wiel has a year left on his contract and the two wingers are available for the right price. if those three came they it could tempt Nigel De Jong to come as he'd be in the 1st team since we play with 3 in the middle.

Reina
VDW*, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique
Lucas, Nigel De Jong*
Elia/Afellay*, Gerrard, Downing
Suarez, Luuk De Jong/Huntelaar*

Gulacsi, Coates, Kelly, Adam, Henderson, Jackson Martinez*, Carroll

Take out Downing he is crap

Would love lewandowski 20 mil Munian 23 mil and Ramirez/ susaets 10-15 mil

Yes and I know this is unrealistic but this would be a dream summer

Based on his comments in reaction to finding out that lfc scouts had been to watch him and he had opted not to play i would say that Elm isn't that bothered about signing for us anytime soon. Also i remember reading last year that he had already agreed to sign for united in the summer.

All the best
Capt. Salty Grey

He didnt play because his wife went into labour!!

Robben signed a new two year extension today so please no more Robben coming to LFC stuff.

Yes, there is a possibility that he might still go and this extension was to raise his transfer fee blah blah blah but in reality, he will never come LFC.

SLURed

He does like lfc though {Ed002's Note - Robben will not be signing for Liverpool.}

Him eds great site keep up the good work! I was just wondering what your opinions are of rasmus elm as a player, he sounds like he could be another potential Charlie Adam type flop with his best attributes being vision free kicks and penalties, I think we can all agree is we do not wish another Adam! So I was enquiring as to how you rate him as a player and if you think he would be a good addition to the team
Thanks again! {Ed005's Note - He's a lot better than Adam.}

i think kenny will play carra for his exp and play a back 5 with johnson n enrique providing the width.spearing sitting to watch lampard and agger to watch mata, skrtel will watch drogba.we will have pace uptop and trickery and id attack down the left as bosingwa is turd.stick carroll on terry to keep him busy and let suarez have a free role roaming pulling their defence out allowing bellamy with pace to break behind.DORSET RED

No spearing, please!!

I like that good tactical thinking it can be defensive 523 and change to 343 Alfiedean

Hi Ed002,

Just wondering if the accounts released include the payments for players brought in during the recent summer transfer window?

Thank You

Yet another one of our targets set to join a enmy once again kagkwa from german champs going man u nearly sealed if u ask me we are going no where fast

The Seasons not even over yet and it's Further Doom and Gloom!!

Go get some Prozac!!
Before you start to drag the rest of us down with you.

Lyndon

Shut up, quit your moaning, it's fans like you that we can do without

Shinji Kagawa ''our target'' said some time ago that he would only move to Man Utd. Soon after that he stopped being ''our target''.

Besides, why would he move from the Bundesliga Champions to Liverpool, when Dortmund have Champions League football to look forward to next season and Liverpool have Europa League football?

He was never going to be short of other Champions League teams, interested in his services, even after the rough season he's had.

Maybe it's time too re-asses your understanding of Liverpool targets, Liverpool have done.

Tip. No Champions League = very small chance of getting ''top players'' from the Champions League qualified teams, unless unforeseeable circumstances arise, as we saw with Suarez falling out with the manager and wanting a quick exit.

Even Eriksen of Ajax, who is in a lower league standard compared to the Premier League and is on lower wages than what Liverpool can afford to pay, yet still he doesn't want to move to Liverpool according to his agent.
