Ed do you think the club will try to sort out transfers before the world cup? and if so how likely do you think it is we will have most of our business sorted early?

Thanks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I cannot answer questions about the timings of transfers.}

Yes. But to be honest it's like asking whether I would try to go out with Scarlett Johansson; YES! Of course I would try, but it's about as likely as Mourinho playing an attacking line up (well slightly more likely than that).

Good luck to the lads tomorrow. Surely the football gods haven't given up on the red med yet. Wouldn't it be mind boggling if we scored 12 goals in the last two games? Still couldn't see us keeping clean sheets if we did though.

Happy to see Mourinho validate his prediction that they would not win the league this year. Was the only time I ever agreed with him.

Hey Eds have not posted in ages.
Firstly with us securing Champions league now do you see us selling a lot of our weaker players? Personally I believe Assaidi and Borini should be kept as they have shown some promise whereas Aspas has had his chance and did not impress. Seeing as we have even more games next year I don't see why we would sell all of our weaker players as we have a small enough squad as it is already and with Rodgers saying today that he wants to make 6 signings. Allen should not be sold and neither should Lucas as I have seen people suggesting it on this website. Suso should be brought back and Alberto should be sent out on loan to a Premier League team so he can get the experience he needs. Also 1 final question. Do you think Liverpool will cash in on Suarez this Summer or do you think he would like to move to Madrid if they come knocking. Would be gutted to see him go.

So Ed02, Moses has got the AA road map out and circled Southampton. A subliminal message maybe?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Maybe. But it is a ferry port as well. Apparently a much larger group of fans is expected to greet the team at their London hotel tomorrow morning.}

Does anyone know where their hotel is? I wanna get to one of these gatherings.

Hey Reds, our team gave as good as they could yesterday to try and keep us a hope of catching Arsenal. There was none of the let's try and help Liverpool though! If you do go on to win the league, then you have really surprised me. I came on this site at the beginning of the year and I reckon 80% were suggesting Rogers should be sacked. I did a few wind up posts and a couple of serious comments about the poor quality signings. just shows how wrong I was! It's down to the wire and the best team wins the league. no arguments. It's you or City and the best wins.

Barkley and Martinez were top top professionals in the game, Let me be very frank, The crowd famous for its noise was silent large part of the game, cannot be a coincidence.
But No complaints, As we had the chance and missed it. It has nothing to do with Everton,
If the title is in our destiny, then City ll drop points.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nice post OP and best of luck to you guys on the final game. It's been a great season for both of our teams

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Degsy, I don't buy that. The only player who busted a gut was Barkley, and Everton's defence made no effort to stop Dzeko scoring his goals. There are stories that Everton fans who cheered their team were threatened verbally and physically by fellow supporters who are more interested in Liverpool losing than Everton winning. If so, it will help to explain the school of silence. I simply don't believe the players gave it their all. Anyway, whoever wins the league will have won it over 38 games, not as a result of your team's half-hearted performance.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - not fair Jeff, McCarthy was chasing around like he always does, he can certainly not be accused of making no effort.}

05 May 2014 10:29:46
3 at the back and look the way they conceeded the goals, Shows little or no intentions. They have never been such terrible at the back this season.
But Hatss off to Martinez, He was class and class above everyone, A top top class professional manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

From the time Everton scored until City scored their third, the Everton team basically downed tools. Nobody except Barkley made any effort.

At half-time even the commentators (on the feed I was watching) remarked on how poor Everton had been.

Anyway, whether we finish first or second has nothing to do with Everton. Nor should it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - now that final bit I defo agree with. What Everton do is irrelevant. It was a 38 game season and the winner will be the team that did best over the entire season, not one match.}

05 May 2014 12:05:00
Harry it wouldn't take much to be a class above them so called fans with their club with a chance of cl they cheer on the other team.their keeper doesn't even try.

Agree0 Disagree0

You should never expect favours from a rival. They point out Liverpool being Cockneys for the Day when losing 2-0 at home to Chelsea to deny United the title and no celebrations when Redknapp scored against Blackburn and we thought (wrongly) the title was gifted to United. People who live in glass houses. Best not even rising to it. The crowd effectively slowed their players down and made it much easier for City than would have been the case. Manager and players blameless in terms of performance.

Agree0 Disagree0

At 2-1 city did joe hart not make a wonder save and city went up the other end and scored? Hardly not trying there pros

Hey reds,
Is it just me or is Mourhino a very ordinary manager. He needs a team that are worth ridiculous amounts of money to play the most dire football in the league! I say Mourhnio is just like Allerdyce or Pulis but with milllions more to spend! It only works on the big teams because they try and play football so Chelsea can just counter.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think jose is a good in fact top manager in big games but he's negative that's for sure but I think once they have top strikers in next year he won't be half as negative just has no faith in his strikers but chelsea can be horrible to watch at times they should play how they did against psg second leg they have the players to do it

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't be a fool.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on ZBoy99, no different to Pullis or Allerdyce. Only difference is he's managed teams who can spend millions on the best wingers in the world and robust strikers who can do the lone striker role.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 May 2014 19:38:45
Gilbet,

By Strikers you mean someone who starts attack from the half way line and scores some goals.
They had 24 shots off target today and 6 on target, compared to Norwich 4.
A, Diego Costa or Cavani wouldn't do any magic, Since the team lacks creativity.
I know Torres, Ettoo, and BA are not world class strikers anymore, But surely they would score 5/10 chances inside the box. How many do they get per game?
I have watched Chelsea close, and TBF they play very negative, which has nothing to do with Torres, Etto or BA.
I am 110% sure, Torres would hit at least 15 goals for any sides apart Chelsea.
Hazzard and Luiz was benched, shows whose the Boss.

Agree0 Disagree0

It only works against top teams because top team want to win therefore they attack. against smaller teams it doesn't help them because the smaller teams don't need to attack a draw is a wonderful result against a top 3 team. 0-0 for shame!

Agree0 Disagree0

He wouldn't get jobs at big clubs with big budgets and win titles domestically and in Europe if he wasn't a good manager.

Ken

That being said, This is his last ideal club, wouldn't enter Spain in a decade, So as Italy, Who else remains?, PSG.
His wages are very high, Would be interesting, He is the only manager not to get sacked after a trophyless seaosn.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lads, he's a hypocrite sometimes but you make yourselves look daft if you say he's not a good manager. Chelsea had money before he came. Only he won the title after 50 years and did if again. Inter hadn't won Serie A for donkey's years. Barca were top dogs in Spain but he still won La Liga in his 2 seasons. He's won the CL twice with arguably the two least resourced clubs he's managed. If you want to have a pop stick to Mourinho the man rather than the manager because the fact is he wins and that's what coaches are paid to do. If you just want entertainment join the circus.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a very good manager who had a bad season in terms of goals and style but not in terms of results

Just my opinion - Howard let in the first two goals by City in the game yesterday. I thought he was much weaker than normal. Other than the goallie I thought our Blue neighbours gave it a go. Pity they didn't get a more positive result.

Great news my friends, Chelski have just drawn their match against Norwich, which means that we need only 3 points to grab 2nd spot. I have the feeling that something special will happen this week because I am sure City will not have easy wins against Villa and West Ham.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Now we need just a win to ensure second I would hope Rodgers is actually planting the idea of attacking the goal difference deficit. A goal every 15 mins. We scored 5 at Stoke and 5 at home to Arsenal. We have to believe Impossible is Nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets not hold out for upsets and rather rejoice that we have 2nd place in the bag.

Hey eds, it's a big if, but if we were to tie city on goal difference, would we win the league through goals scored or would there be a playoff?

Ed02, I have two questions:
1) Have any clubs shown an interest in Sterling?

2) Have Valencia been taken over by Peter Lim yet, and if not, is it still expected to happen?
Thanks in advance.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - (1) Nope. (2) No and he is looking elsewhere for a club right now - Milan is a club that he could push a little harder for and may get.}

04 May 2014 19:39:56
Cheers Ed02. By the way, since I have a soft spot for Valencia, are there any other possible owners who may come in and bail them out? It seems the club, and the city, are in serious trouble.

Hi to All the Eds and fellow Reds

It has been an extremely successful season! Last summer all us fans would have thought top4 to be a major achievement, one that not many punters gave us a chance to achieve. Now, there's even a chance we might win the league, if we don't this year, we WILL next year.
Now with Brendan mentioning 6 signings the circus has come to town as far as Liverpool fans are concerned. Fans getting rid of Borini, Lucas and Allen.
Negative opinions about Lucas and Allen do upset me because Lucas is a player on whose protection we rely. Stevie is world class but does not offer the protection Lucas does. And Allen is only begining to show his worth.
I thank God our views (mine included, of course) have no bearing whatsoever on what the management team decides to do.

Sorry if I sound like a right misery but speculation and overpricing sales and underpricing our targets is frustrating. And, it also reminds me that with the summer/world cup looming the Suarez stories might begin to creep out of tabloids who are itching to rock the Liverpool boat!
Brendan KNOWS best! Why do some fans still doubt Brendan's judgement on players? Do they really know better? Why aren't they scouts or even managers then?

We have had a great season, we will have a better one next year, the foundation are in place, our youngsters are coming through and future is extra bright.

YNWA

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Great post Iran red
I don't get this need for 5-6 players 2-3 first team regulars and we can challenge again next year

Agree0 Disagree0

Its difficult, because as you say, if we were offered 2nd or 3rd in the league on 1st July 2013 we would have gratefully accepted. But, as we are so close now, opinions change! I have enjoyed the season immensely- fantastic football, young players stepping up, and actually having something to play for after Christmas.

There is no doubt that the squad will have to be improved for next season, both in a few starting positions, but mainly the bench. I don't think I need to write a 'Dear Brendan' letter for that one.

I will probably get shot down for saying this, but I feel as if next season we actually need to be slightly less exciting to watch, and improve on our control in games. Top English and European sides will pick us off if we are not more tactically savvy (see Chelsea as a prime example).

I completely trust Brendan and our fantastic coaches to focus on this, and improve the team even further.

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely, we got here with these
players and we have an amazing group of youngsters coming through. We won't be getting rid of Lucas, Allen or the likes. A few fringe players maybe but we will be adding mainly CL quality players and some additions to the youth team. I can't wait to see this team next year when Brendan's done in the summer.
The future is indeed very bright for us.
YNWA

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on, bro!

Agree0 Disagree0

You say that el p but Henderson is a huge reason why we have sort of lost that control in the middle. and our RB & LB have on many occasion left the CB's high and dry.

Agree0 Disagree0

Out: Aspas, Borini, Moses (loanee), Assaidi, Agger, Enrique, Lucas (Total min £35m)
In: Suso, Ilori (both back from loan), Coentrao or Siqueira, Lallana or Konoplyanka, Rakitic, and A N OTHER quality striker (Total max £60m)
Net spend £25m. We obviously need to ship out those who are surplus to requirements to finance purchases.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Get rid of Lucas? Ok mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, get rid of Lucas. He's a makeweight at best, and part of our success this year especially in the 2nd half of the season is down to Stevie replacing him. Rakitic or Pajero for me and even Joe Allen will do a better job.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with red mist, although don't say 'even' Joe Allen, he's a good player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mr. T mate, some people will never lay off the poor lad, no matter what he does for the team. It took a world class player in Gerrard and a change of tactic to replace Lucas when he went out injured. He started to lose me at Borini but he took the biscuit with getting rid of Lucas. Net spend is something that 99% of fans get wrong, it's never as simple as that, this isn't fifa or FM. Also, the comment about "even Joe Allen will do a better job" is suggesting that he doesn't rate Allen either. His opinions, thankfully, have no bearing on how the management feel about these players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Got to disagree with red mist over Lucas
Allen can't olay to his best potential in the DM role
Lucas will provide cover for gerrard in the cups

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank God BR doesn`t think like you because if he did, we`d be in a world of hurt. Lucas has laid his pro life and career on the line for LFC to the point of incurring near career-ending injuries for our cause and still gets slated by "fans". One of the Eds talked about how crest-fallen in the dressing room after being massacred by his own fans yet he shot his gob and worked even harder to the point that he was key to KK`s team and hime going down to inury that year weakend us as a team. His (and Borini`s) will, drive, and work ethic are traits that should be lauded yet all he gets is stick and abuse. Some "fans" some of you people are.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tcotton, I said even joe Allen because holding mid is not his preferred position. I can't see much of a future for lucas, especially if as is being reported, we are on the lookout for a new defensive mid

Agree0 Disagree0

04 May 2014 17:19:45
So it has come down to Lucas being a squad player, cover up?, got to admit, Gerrard was awesome played there

Agree0 Disagree0

Lucas, while he may not be be zidane or seedorf, is a great squad player. He is mostly reliable, no nonsense and robust. He is also pretty unique in that he has an attacking edge deep in his locker from his days at gremio.

He is commited to the club, has gone through thick and thin, and is happy to be a squad player. He may not be a world beater, but most good teams have a lucas leiva, fletcher springs to mind for united.

Trust me, we won't be getting rid of lucas, even though he isn't as refined as other players, he is very solid and a great member of the squad overall.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get rid of Lucas redmist? you and I see the game very differently.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lucas is an absolute hero, what's the matter with some of you? Parroting old cliches because you're too vain or stubborn to admit how good he has been for us? And while we're on this tack, what has Joe Allen got to do? Die on the pitch mid tackle after having run himself into the ground yet again?
Can we have our realism back please?

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't you think we are more likely to lose fringe players who haven't played much or at all and those with two years on contract, high wages and injury issues first? Lucas & Allen are part of the core group of 14/15 players.

Agree0 Disagree0

I forgot to include that Alberto may well be shipped out as well. haven't seen enough of him to say he deserves it but his attitude has been poor and BR may well cash in and use the money on a better replacement.

Agree0 Disagree0

Selling: Aspas, Coates, Borini, Assaidi, Agger, Enrique, Lucas … would bring a total minimum of £50m
Lucas 12-14m
Enrique - 6-7m
Borini 8-9m
Aspas 5-6m
Agger 13-14m
Assaidi 4m
Coates 2m
but I don't think we should be selling Lucas and Borini.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haych, we'd get £8m tops for Lucas. And Agger is 29 now, injury-prone, so can't see him going for any more than £10m. We'd be lucky to see £6m for Enrique given his injury and the lack of game time he's had, £4m for Aspas, £3m for Assaidi, and £5-7m for Coates who is rated abroad. Borini would fetch £6m at best

Agree0 Disagree0

And here we go again OP kicking Lucas in the tatties get real.

Agree0 Disagree0

Where do you guys pluck these numbers from?!?!?!?!?

Agree0 Disagree0

04 May 2014 14:33:02
we have 3rd in the bag and if I was given that at the begining of the season I would have taken it, but with knowing we have 3rd wrapped up there's nothing to lose if we go gung ho in our last 2 games is there, if we get a great result against palace as in a big score over 5 then the pressure goes back on man city cause then they know just winning might not be enough so ;et the game roll on tomorrow, and it will most probs come down to the last kick of the season

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I just can't understand this fascination with Borini. Is the standard we employ for players that they simply run their heart out and try? FFS he didn't set Anfield alight when we bought him and he hasn't scored many from open play at Sunderland either. |He went out on loan because he wanted game time and he wasnt going to get a look in ahead of SAS and dare I say even Moses. So what's he going to bring to the table now? Too many people are far too sentimental about players. Unfortunately there is little room for sentiment in football as Dalglish (legend though he is) and his supporters found out. We need players who can improve the squad and like our rivals that means 2 top players for each position. Lucas and Borini ain't going to get us PL or even CL. Borini will struggle to hit 6 goals per season and Lucas is just too limited to offer us what we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

The fact if the matter is redmist. we are NOT man city, we can't afford to spend £30m+ on a back up striker, I personally think Borini has looked good this season in a poor team. If he wasn't up to the job as you think, why did BR not allow him to play against us this season?

Agree0 Disagree0

Redmist mate, we have two top strikers already. We're pretty unlikely to get a 3rd 'top' striker and Borini is not an awful 3rd choice and could easily handle the limited number of minutes the likes of Aspas has gotten this season. He can also play on the wings decently (as shown at Sunderland all year).

As we've done this year in nearly half the games when either Sturridge or Suarez are out, we just revert to one at the top instead, so further depth at the position is simply not a massive priority in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

Redmist are you feeling okay? have you seen a Liverpool match this season? Lucas is a quality player. Before the second injury he had the most tackles for us and you can clearly see that. not every single player on the pitch can score and assist goals and in Liverpools case we play with a CDM. this position is to sit in front of the back four and protect us from counter attacks so it is vital to stay in position, lucas' positional sense is quality and although he gives away stupid freekicks they almost everytime could have led to goals, his yellow cards aren't because he's dirty, its because he's willing to stop a counter attack/goal by getting himself booked with a professional foul. we are so much more protected with lucas in DM than gerrard but the plus gerrard has is we can attack from his beautiful passes. if I could have any player to sit in or battle that position with gerrard it would be lucas, comitted, passionate and a beast.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Ed's,
Brendan Rodgers has been talking of signing 6 players to add enough depth for next season. Do you know which positions these are likely to be? And any players likely to fit the profile you could name?
Cheers YNWA

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I suspect there are three first team places where he will look to strengthen (LB, CM and a wide forward). I addition to that I suspect that a squad ready youngster or two will arrive and one or two squad players. You can read the posts about the players I know of interest in and clearly the staff are working hard to find the additions. Again, the caveat will be any unexpected departures from the club.}

Shocked by your reply ed
I was under the impression that we won't be signing more than three players this summe
Where will the money come from?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The owner's Post Office savings account and sales.}

Then the owner must have been saving for a long time
What most of us don't want to see is an insane amount of money being spent on overrated players and then our debt increasing next year
P.S A suggestion for the site eds
Maybe you guys could create a separate page of all the players we are interested in position by position player by player
I would be happy to do the summary with all eds notes if you guys don't have the time

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I said nothing of "insane amount of money". We have provided a summary before but there are too many pages already, we won't be adding more. If you want to summarise what has been said and post it, that would be great.}

And the questions never seem to stop
Change insane in the above post to big

Summary:

Probable Outs: Reina (4.1m), Agger (10-12m), Coates (2m, cut of future profit), Enrique (6-8m), Robinson (1m), Aspas (6-7m), Assaidi (3-4m), Cissokho & Moses (Loan Returns)

Possible Out: Skrtel (10-12m)

Possible Signings/Returns:

RB: Wisdom
CB: Ilori, Caulker (12m), Richards (8m)
LB: Bertrand (6m), Rojo (10-12m)
CM: Parejo (18m), Lallana (20-25m), Hughes (10-15m)
RF: Cuadrado 20m
LF: Konoplyanka (15m), Tello (10-12m)

5/6 signings - Caulker, Bertrand, Lallana, Hughes, Caudrado/Tello & young DM? Likely net spend 30m.

Agree0 Disagree0

Instead of buying both a CM and a DM signing Diame would be better. He could be our cheaper answer to Yaya. Scores goals, creates goals, breaks up play, passes well, holds up the ball well and would give us that strong midfield presence many LFC supporters have been craving for since little Masch.

Agree0 Disagree0

Possible out Suarez.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who are you talking about molby?

Agree0 Disagree0

04 May 2014 14:01:11
Next season I would like to see Suso as backup to Coutinho, Allen for Henderson and Lucas for Gerrard. Then Borini for Sturridge, Ibe for Sterling and an extra winger for Suarez. Alberto should be loaned along with Texeira. With injuries and the extra CL games I still don't think they would get time on the pitch.

We need a LB to play with Flannagan and a CB with Sakho depending on either Skrtel or Agger leaving and we have cover in Enrique, Johnson, and Toure.

So that's potentially 3 players, CB, LB and a Winger. We don't need to spend high, just well. I have confidence in the clubs ability to find the right players.

We have 2 very hard games coming up. Palace are not going to roll over as Pulis has turned this team around from relegation candidates to mid table respectability, built some confidence & discipline into them, personally I will take 3 points, bonus if we win by 2 or 3. Newcastle are a strange team that as demonstrated the last time we played them, made life hard for us, again take the 3 points & hope citeh & chelski slip up & .
Todays Guardian quotes Brendan saying we will bring in 6 new faces,, I guess depending on who leaves as to who we bring in,, Would be gutted to see Suarez leave but realistically I cannot see him having another season like this one, would we be better to cash in?
Poll of the day,, Can we be competitive in next seasons Champions League, OF COURSE WE CAN. Can we win it is a completely different question.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We are more than capable of going to Palace and winning by a cricket score.

Agree0 Disagree0

We just need to win the two games regardless of the scores and then hope for the best. #Wegoagain!

Agree0 Disagree0

My point exactly redohio. I'll be glad of the points, wether 1 -0, 2-1 or 4-0 I'll take a win in both games. Would anyone of thought of chelski & Norwich drawing today 0-0? We are more than capable of scoring a bagful, but not guaranteed. Just 2 very difficult games. Behind the team 100%.

To all the kopites saying we threw the game:

We gave one of the best teams in the league a run for their money scored 2 goals against them and gave our everything in the last minutes until Edin Dzeko time wasted which stopped all of our rhythm.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think you need to define what you mean by 'we'.

'We' the team did give absolutely everything and you were unlucky not to at least grab an equaliser late on.
City played the 6 minutes of stoppage time perfectly so there weren’t any real scares.

'We' the fans however were pathetic. This was your last home game of the season and compared to the atmosphere against United and Arsenal it was embarrassing.
You handed Arsenal 4th spot without even a fight.

I didn't think you threw the game at all. Simply observed the reaction of some of the players to the whistling of their own fans. For me they took their foot off at the end. Under the circumstances I understand how hard it might have been considering your own fans didn't want it.
I thought you still had Europe to play for. A fact that could be very important in keeping some of your up and coming stars and a very good manager.
I hope you still qualify because although I'm a Liverpool fan, I'm one that thinks your season should at least deserve that. Two Merseyside teams in the Europe would have been amazing for the city.
We've done our job for this season in qualifying for the CL, but I know how we would feel not winning the league on goal difference. Probably the same as you would not qualifying for Europe by 1 point.

Agree0 Disagree0

The fans were confused and Dzeko time wasting took the sting out of the game.

Agree0 Disagree0

'The fans were confused'

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair play PK, no hard feelings. it's done now, both teams still have a job to do and I hope they both reach their goals tbh.

Agree0 Disagree0

No point blaming the fans or whoever. City deserved the win and that`s the bottom line. We just have to do our job and hope for the best.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought Timmy could have saved the first 2 goals. Never get beaten at near post and Dzeko headed it from about 10 metres out.
Poor goalkeeping, but then he is a Yank turned Manc turned bluenose so what can you expect?

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't remember seeing Howard give up two such soft goals in one game.

Lost respect for him.

Disappointed with yesterday's result. The last 10mins of the game were strange to me. Everton never looked like they really wanted the win. No sour grapes, just disappointed for a man like Martinez who's frustrations were there to see on the sidelines. 'What are you doing?!' the expression on his face said it all. A seasons work undone for the sake of a few whistling fans who forget their team deserves a place in Europe, and that this fact is more important than any rivalry could ever be.
Credit to Martinez, credit to the players that gave their all, shame on the few that wiped out their efforts.
We've scored goals for fun this season, now for our last tilt, let's score a hat full, like champions, because City's celebrations last night reminded me of an AC Milan team at half time in the Champions League final of 2005. It ain't over till it's over lads.

You are right but that might just be some raw emotion spewing out after a big win. It`s defo NOT over yet because a lot can still happen in 270 mins of football. All we need to do is do our job and hope.

Perhaps a little optimistic, but it's never over 'til it's over. City aren't definitively "Two wins from Glory"

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Love the optimism and I hope you are right but city only getting +2 good and us beating palace 5-0 is quite a stretch.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never say never

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha, your giving us to score 11 goals, in two matches, not to concede even one goal, that's something I can just dream about, but somehow, don't think we will get even close to that prediction, the Everton game was the One, were City mite drop a point, that's gone, so I will be very sad that we came so close to winning the Premiership, but more than happy that we will prob come in as runners up, and Champions League next season, we have had one hell of a season, but think some of the players are feeling the pace a bit, so to get two wins from our last two games, get the 100 goals, would be a great way to finish a brilliant season .

Agree0 Disagree0

I am sure City will drop points against either Villa or West Ham, its up to us to win both matches never mind the score.

Aston villa will prove a difficult test to City

Agree0 Disagree0

Some great optimistic posts but I fear city will batter Aston Villa and beat West Ham as well, goal difference? Can see us winning both games but think city will come out with plus 5 or 6 over the two games. Hope I'm wrong lads, fingers crossed hey!

Agree0 Disagree0

Big Sam has suddenly got all his players out of the treatment room and onto the field. They will not be the push over everyone is expecting them to be. Villa on the other hand I am not expecting City to drop points there (Hope I am wrong)
We just have to concentrate on our games. Get the points tonight and put the pressure back onto City.
By Sunday they will have played 3 games in and week and legs may be going by 60 minutes.
Anything is possible. (Look at Norwich yesterday!)

Neither Villa nor West Ham will be pushovers.

Both managers fighting to keep their jobs.

A win over City at the death would be just the trick - for the two of them.

just wanted a few opinions. feel we don't have anything off the bench attacking wise with regards to alberto, aspas and moses. were they good signings for "now"? would you have prefered to have borini, suso, ibe and assaidi available. or should we have spent the money of aspas, alberto and ilori for players for now?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Fabio Borini - I would like to see him be apart of the squad next season as he has done really well at Sunderland this season.

Jordon Ibe - I think should be sent out on loan to a BPL club for the season as he is showing excellent potential.

Jesus Fernandez - I think he is one of the best young midfielders in the world and should be competing with Coutinho for the first team.

Oussama Assaidi - Has scored some important goals for Stoke this season but with only 2 assists means he lacks the end product which we need to progress further.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would you have liked them as part of the squad for this season?

Agree0 Disagree0

Only suso.borini and assaidi need to be sold, they won't do much good as squad players while ibe needs a loan in the premier league

Borini, Only if Suarez stays, Suso would be a welcome addition.

Agree0 Disagree0

The loans were needed by each of the players mentioned and I would prefer to have them next season than this one.

I can only see Borini and Suso coming back with about 3-4 new signings coming in.

Im hoping this is a lucky omen. In 2005 I was in Cuba watching the final and we won it in amazing style. In 2006 I was in Caribbean again and we won FA cup in a brilliant game.

Tomorrow I'm on my way to Barbados and I'm hoping we can now win the title whilst I'm over there again.

Here's hoping it works again. If so maybe the club can start paying for my holidays in the Caribbean this time of year each year.

Anyway good luck lads and let's cheer them on no mater what.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Mate you dare not come out of Caribbean for the next week and a day ;-)

I found an old football docket in my shoe this morning it just had west ham to draw on it.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think big andy owes lfc anything, infact it is prob the other way around, I can't see him doing lfc any favours

Agree0 Disagree0

The Word

Read Carraghers comments about him when Carroll was at the club and you might change your mind.

Agree0 Disagree0

By scoring and helping West Ham get a result only means he would be doing his job and nothing else. He`s not going to have a chance to score and knowingly miss just to stik it to lfc because strikers and pros aren`t built that way and frankly, I really don`t think he cares.

Agree0 Disagree0

Carroll wants LFC to win the league.

If he's fit and up for it he is a defender's nightmare. Strong as a bull and deadly in the air.

He'll always have a chance of getting to the World Cup with Hodgson in charge so it's up to him to earn his place.

He will stick it to City, mark my words.
