ed025 says that liverpool fans will hope that shelvey doesn't return to liverpool.I have no idea why to be honest.He will be a great player in the future.5 goals in 6 games for blackpool already

Danny

Danny {Ed003's Note - I think he should stay at Blackpool until the end of the season :-) }

I agree, Ed003.
The end of the 2025 season. {Ed003's Note - Fine by me }

Lol. of course for the end of the season but i would like him back. I'll be gutted if we let another real talent go.I mean it is championship level but still 5 goals in 6 games is good for a striker never mind a midfielder.

Danny

Why don't you guys like jonjo?

Danny

I like jonjo we have three promising attacking midfielders in jonjo, hendo and suso. We also have coady as defensive mid. So, i think one of the 3 attacking mid's is not going to make it. I don't know who.

Abhi

Whhy not all three?
and isit me or is suso's game a mixture of luis garcia and yossi benayoun, i dont see him as a midfielder more a ss or wf in a 433. he came to us as a striker but we play him in cm or ss but then ask him to drop too deep.

Had £20 at 250/1 for 8-0 to Liverpool tomorrow, it's about time we took all our chances in a match and tomorrows that match.....

Gone2curl1

A bit optimistic I think.If we get a few early goals who knows what could happen.Swansea are a decent footballing side but if we play are best they don't have much of a chance.we need to be careful though they have a lot of pacey players that could hurt us on the counter.

Danny

Don't worry Danny me thinks £20 at those odds is a good bet. They are a good footballing team but we are going murder them I can just feel it...

Gone2curl1

I think Gone2curl1 has just perfectly defined the term 'over-confidence'. Hope you're right though mate

cozinoz

We just need to take our chances in front of goal more , if we had we would be sitting above utd , and thats the truth..........lfc

I hope your right mate. I really do

Danny

4-3 is the score boys, just you watch!

Lol, throwing money away there, thats just like betting on man city to beat manu 6-1, oh, wait.... ................................. when ya think about it. seems like a reasonabley good bet to me mate. good luck lol

Haha. 4-3 yikes.hope it isn't that close.i will be happy with 6-1.lol
Any ideas for goalscorers?

Danny

Im a Swansea City fan just passing through. Don't be to confident lads. Nathan Dyer and Scott Sinclair will cause Johnson and Enrique problems I guarentee it. The brand of football we play has been a pleasure to watch over the past few years. There will be times in the game when we will have a sustained period of possession and will create chances. I do however think you will win the game, although 8-0 may be a bit optimistic! Enjoy the game my friends!

3-1 to liverpool with suarez, carrol n downing on the scoresheet. I think this sounds more realistic than 4-3.
Indian Buzzer

We will draw or lose to Swansea. Brendan Rogers, like Paul Lambert, have done wonders on no budget whatsoever. Both going to be top managers. Remember Swansea have some good attacking players, and Vorm is a Dutch international keeper. Sorry if I sound so negative, I'm just superstitious!

Where does that Hoillet play for Blackburn?

Ewood park most of the time {Ed003's Note - He's a winger, good potential,contract runs out in the summer and is refusing to sign a new deal}

Winger/Striker

I saw somewhere that Blackburn were gonna ask £18m for him. Lol.
The Real KB

I would definitely have him for free.would be a little bargain.

I posted this as a comment on another post, but I have seen many other posts talking about the same thing so I may as well re-post it...

We will NOT be getting Carlos Tevez.

LFC have a strict wage budget. The highest possible wage offered would be around 110K (Stevie's on 120K). Carlos will no doubt will be earning 200K+. Whether you would want him to join or not, the chances of him joining are about the same as Messi joining Accrington Stanley (Who are they? Exactly.).

Thanks, James.

Why the feck would we won't him.

I would spend 50m on him with a 300K contract for 5 years just to make him clean the liverpool toilets after curry night -McMenemy

Carlos, eh? I can assure you Leo won't be joining Stanley, either.

McMenemy

i see you tried very hard to spell 'want' but spelt an entirely different word lol

Im having a bad spelling dey -McMenemy

ED, how big are the swansea CB because most of the team is small and love to see big andy take some small SB's on -McMenemy {Ed001's Note - I can't say I have ever measured them! They are not big bruisers though, the whole team is built around being able to pass the ball, and that includes the defence.}

Yeah there a decent footballing side.But ashley williams is quite a big lad.

Danny

Why havn't you measured them - get to it

Carroll taking on Swanseas SB's what's that son of a bitches? Think you ment CB.

Waro

Yes i did mean CB's thanks for pointing that out -McMenemy

Anyone know which Liverpool player drives a yellow Aston Martin Convertable?

Carroll

If, at the start of the season, someone have said that we are just 1pt behind spuds (with a game in hand) and 4 behind the Geordies after 10 games, I'd have laughed my head off... but it's real! that's not progress by my terms

dmedly

You're measuring our progress by the form of other teams... that doesn't make much sense. We could have started better sure, but the fact that we are 1 pt off Chelsea in 4th as opposed to being in the relegation zone suggests to me that we have actually made a great deal of progress...

DP

You're right mate we have not made much progress, we are still waiting for a few players to come out of their "moulding" process and for others to "gel" whatever that means

It seems like a good start but in reality anything would be a 'good' start compared to when roy was in charge, he was awful, i get shivers down my spine everytime i see his stupid old face, so many bad memories, hurts to think about it...

I can't believe the negativity of the original post. If it is as bad as all that Citeh would be awfully glad of your support. Liverpool have been improving steadily under Kenny Dalglish. The club has new and ambitious owners with an excellent sporting pedigree. We have players who are willing to play for their shirts. We are making chance after chance. We are playing attractive and entertaining football. What more progress do you want? I would be more than happy to match your pessimism with a wager that Liverpool will be a long way above Newcastle by the end of the season. Having said that, you appear to have been too despondent to sign your post, so it may be a little tricky to claim my winnings from you.

I am happy to hear that there are some rumblings about interest in Hoilett. I think the player is exactly what we need, and he also fits our transfer policy. He is extremely quick, quite strong, and a pretty good finisher as well. He can play out on the right as well as striker, which is exactly what we need at this point. I would much prefer Hoilett over Johnson, as I think Hoilett's potential is higher, and he will come a bit cheaper. I hope we make a play for him in January.

Mark

Johnson for me mate every day of the week.
kopfiend 1978

Don't get me wrong, I like Adam Johnson, I just think with his attitude concerns and his price tag that he is not as good of a buy as Hoilett.

Mark

Noises about Adam J being a bit of a cash chasing bighead coming out now...

Steve Kean has told Junior Hoilett that when he moves he should only join a top four club.If Liverpool get in the top four this year could you see Liverpool make a move for him eds? {Ed002's Note - I suspect he will move in January if he does not sign a new contract. I have no idea if Liverpool will be interested or not.}

Hi eds why is the Carling cup v Chelsea on a Tues and we are only playing on the sun before against City then we dont play fulham to the following mon. Am i right in saying its not even for TV as we are not on live are we?

Which games are on live eds? I bet United V Palace is instead. I find this a bit of a joke or is this injunction with what liverpool wanted.

Hi eds. With the Chelsea games not far off I was wondering what sort of reception you think Torres should get? I am certain that he will be booed because of the way he left and some of the things he said. Personally I think the best thing to do would be not boo him, although I wouldnt clap him either! I think we should show him that we we are doing ok without him.

What do you think?
{Ed001's Note - I expect him to get a fair few boos at least.}

You forgot about his money grabbing friend Meireles

MJ

2 players i wish we still had.

We should have upped miereles pay and kept him, bad move selling

I wish we still had Torres. But only if he was happy and willing to put in the work like he used to. Imagine a fully fit and firing Torres in our squad now!
Raul wasn't that good tho. Did nothing of note all season bar a couple of decent goals. Hendo is growing into a much better player anyway.

MIKEY

Er... chaps, we're 1 point behind Chelsea. And that's a Chelsea with Torres & Meireles (oh & Mata too).

dd

Thats it kenny kept doing what your doing whatever that is it may work one day

Best way to show our feelings towards them would be a 5 goal thumping..

Ed agree with you completely, dont care about the superstar names just want players that will fit in and improve the team. Agree with your comments about Johnson's attitude to, why are so many peolpe on this sight so keen to see him in a red shirt? loads of talent poor attitude and poor work ethic, sounds like a mister Torres to me!! (except not as good)
RNRed

What you mean sound like mr torres. Torres is a fantastic player no matter what he has done he was a great player for us. Obviously if thier is more money to be offered and you think a club is going nowhere( which i think he was wrong about ) then you are going to go to another club.

hi. ed just wondering what your opinion is of Rahem Sterling ? do you think he could make the jump to the first team. IMO he is a great player and if we had someone like Adam Johnson at the team i think he plus Stuart downing would be good roll models for the young sterling.

YNWA..Rabbiit93 {Ed002's Note - He is certainly a talent for the future - but keep in mind he is only 16.}

Thanks Ed. Also could you shed somelight on this Luuk De Jong not seen much of him? Cheers

The teams that have conceded least amount of goals in BPL so far.

18 Liverpool 10 10
19 Man City 10 8
20 Newcastle 10 7

What should we make out of this, is our defense as naive & sloppy many think. Also we have 3 clean sheets the team with the most number of clean sheets has 4. Our defense is not bad as many people think, we are not getting the results its because we are wasting the chances we created in front of the goal. If Andy Carroll can be the player he was at Newcastle & Suarez converting 65-85% of chances he creates for himself for goals we would be among the top of the league.

Some notable & unbelievable misses so far this season:

1- Suarez puts in the penalty he misfired on the 1st day of the season. 2pts to the bag

2- Suarez puts the sitter into the net he got against Stoke last minute of the match. 1 pts to the bag

3- Andy Carroll converts the chance he got against Norwich last minute + if we could have converted one or two chances out of number of chances created against Norwich in 1st half. 2pts to the bag

So that's 5 pts in the bag = 18+5= 23pts LFC in 2nd along with the scums.

Be more clinical in-front of the goal, that's all we need for now.

Hopefully a convincing win for the reds tomorrow against the Swans. YNWA

pytbull

Sorry to be the thick one but does that mean played 10 conceded 10? If so, that ain't bad at all..! I totally agree with you by the way pal..

Myk

I think people were in panic mode when utd city and chelsea all seemed to be pulling away from the rest but they have dropped points now,well city are on fire and fairplay to them but the others are having problems now and were starting to click.
king henry

Not being harsh on the lad but there was also Hendo's header last minute against the Manus as well. That should/could easily have been another 2pts.

Played 10 conceded 10 is not bad especially when you think that spurs got four of them goals.
redl4fe

We've also hit the woodwork 10 times in 10 games, if we can be more clinical in front of goal then a top 4 finish is ours to throw away

04 Nov 2011 11:17:53
Here is one for you, if you were guaranteed one win against the chavs would you take 3 points or the passage into the semi's of the carling cup...me i'd take the 3 points as the carling cup would be nice but the top 4 is essential especially if like Macca says we need that before we go after the next step up in class of talent & the win would seriously bring them into the fight for the places.

I'd obviously love the 2 wins but just a thought...

Steve.

Sorry dude i hate the thoughts of losing,
but if i really had to pick id say the league because gettings 3 points of chelsea would be a bonus as id always be happy with a point,
and we have a great chance of winning the carling cup.

I hope andy caroll starts against swans,I think his prolific goal scoring will start now.He will begin to justify

I don,t think we will be buying anyone in Jan. but would love to see STEVEN PIENAAR in our squad.

04 Nov 2011 10:34:18
Ed, do you think we could buy any of these players : Hazard, Tevez, Higuain, Benzema, Walcott, Lennon. I wish to see liverpool buy a world class player in january don't you ? {Ed001's Note - I don't care about world class players, I am not 12 years old and wanting their name on the back of my shirt. I want to see a team that wins things, whether the players are unknown to anyone but Liverpool fans really is irrelevant to me. If you are calling Lennon and Walcott world class, well then I fear for you!}

World Class players help you win things, but I would prefer a team that challenges for trophies in every competition, at the moment we are not quite there

Would rather have a team that wants to play for the shirt than a team of 'world class players' that just want a payday!

-Shar-

Nyemar is joining Real so Benzama or Hihuain may leave Real. love to see one of then in Red.

Totally agree with everything the Ed said here, Greece won the Euros with a team and we can and will do the same!

Keith

Dont be silly.....the euros!??

04 Nov 2011 10:32:27
a world class striker and a decent left winger. Henderson obviously plays better centre or centre attacker.

suarez and unknown with carrol backup and centre attacker henderson with left downing and right winger unknown and behind charlie adam and gerrard with lucas backup

ed will we lose revenue if we redevelop anfield
{Ed002's Note - No.}

Surely we will, but only while the work is being carried out?

I hear that we are going to follow example of the Irish govenment.

Raise prices due to reduced attendence and when the attendence drops again due to the prices, we will raise the prices yet again. Untill there are 10 people in the ground who paid £1,800,000 a ticket.

Sorry for the rant ed.

Duberlin....

If anfield is to be redeveloped to about 60.000 as the owners have suggested as an option then there will be significant loss of revenue while the work is completed.As parts of the ground will be shut as construction goes on it is simply unavoidable. however even with the loss of match day revenue this could still be a cheaper option than the new build
TED {Ed001's Note - you can do most of it during the close season, it should be open early enough during the season to increase revenue in that season, not lose it.}

To add extra capacity to the existing ground will actually take a lot of work and will be more complicated than people think.Most of the work could certainly not be completed during the close season.Increasing capacity section at a time would mean a minimum of a season to complete each area including work in the close seasons.This really is a huge project and will mean decreased revenue over a couple of seasons as works progress.However it will no doubt still work out cheaper than the new build
{Ed002's Note - I think the original poster was considering the longer term rather than any temporary short-term impact. A solution would be to sell the naming rights to Anfield.}

04 Nov 2011 06:19:15
Hey ed, is a loan move for suso on the cards? Do u think he cud be as good as eriksen or goetze in a year's time? Cud possibly save us a 25 million in the market. And do u expect KK to look at tevez in jan?
Indian Buzzer {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware; no idea; I doubt it.}

04 Nov 2011 05:29:28
Would be good to loan Tevez in Jan..then based on how he works with the team, bid for him in the summer.

Red from SA.

No! For me its' his attitude alone. The only thing befitting Tevez is a one way ticket out of the UK, and as mentioned already by other posters he's on high wages - £200,000 week. Wasn't this one of the issues FSG faced when they bought Liverpool - to revise the wage structure and get rid of the players on high wages. Not a chance mate that he'll join Liverpool.

But i haven't read a high profilic player admiting openly that they wana play for liverpool! So is it the bitter truth or can u suggest me some player name that would love to play for us? And on hazard if real bought neymar, manci bought di maria or levezi, chealsea bought de brunye do u think he would join us or italy will be his preffered destination? Liverpool close to announce stadium sponsor and coca cola will be the one. Its kinda wierd why we must go for Coke. There are still plenty of co waiting in list such Stand Chard , Asda , Warrior. Guess amount would be the big gap.

Coke is the most recognised brand in the world. As principal partner, it would provide a fantastic platform, and our sponsors (Standard Chartered etc) would benefit hugely from this exposure. From a business and financial (revenue) perspective this would be a major coup for the club. Sure hope it true, and not nonsense, if so well done to all at LFC. Shankly's Red Army.

I remember back in the 70s, when Gordon Banks had that car crash and damaged his eye. There was a series of benefit games for him, around the country. I went to see one of them, at a little 4th Div ground (as it was then). There was about 10,000 there. Loads of top ex-and then current players in Banksy's team. At the end, everyone ran on the pitch as you did then. Bobby Charlton was going mad, telling everyone to **** off. I was shocked as I was only a kid.
Still think he's a top man though.
Mind you, his comb-over was mad in those days.

I'm a spurs fan and wrote some articles for the magazine total football, with regards to greatest ever teams as chosen by their own fans, 80% of the correspondence from man united fans claimed bobby charlton to be of the upmost arrogance, always refused autographs, unless at his soccer school (where you payed to go?), or if a camera was on him!

And I bumped into Terry Butcher in a service station on the M6. He is one big unit, I tell you. I never said anything cos it was dark and he looked in a bad mood !

This is when I realised how much money there must be in football when a player I had never heard of could have a house the size of his!
Calzaghe: Smug tight ar5e! Was snogging that Russian dancer in the back of the cab all the way to her place, when the rumours had just started. Never spoke to me once, not even when paying, no tip. Afterwards I wish I had taken a couple of sly pictures and sold them.

Dmedly - I thought you were a hooker until a read about them all being in your cab! LOL.

The only player I can think of who played for Newcastle and QPR is Les Ferdinand but that was more than 5-years ago.

I was speaking to Thomas Gravesan a couple of years ago in a bar in Liverpool. Top bloke with lots of stories about playing for the s**te and for Madrid, and he let slip that he was actually a liverpool fan!

I once had a kick around game and Phil Thompson and Phil Neal were both playing also, this was when I was about 10 years old. The only thing I remember in the game was I managed to Nutmeg Thommo - I could have been a footballer, but I had a paper round... :-(

Oh yeah and Barton.
But won't waste anymore time on that scumbag than I have to.
Easily the worst footballer I have met, possibly the worst human.

Pepe reina however was the nicest.
