{Ed001's Note - it is not worth it mate.}

04 Oct 2016 21:43:27
Trolls mate. They do it to every single post. Ignore them, plain and simple. Would be interesting all the same if you could see the people who like/ dislike posts. You'd spot the trolls pretty quickly then.

04 Oct 2016 22:32:16
bellends billy. football aside its a mans/ fathers/ sons health .

04 Oct 2016 23:30:38
Honestly, some people just enjoy seeing these types of posts and reactions. By acknowledging it and further still displaying that you're peed off about it you're actually playing into their hands, it would be far more prudent to simply ignore it ✌️.

04 Oct 2016 23:37:12
divvies mate, not worth rising to, don't see anybody admitting it do you? probably kids who don't know who he is so they stick a dislike on there because he's not a player they know. unreal some people
Plus side - atleast Rigobert Song seems to be on the mend, that's the main thing here.

04 Oct 2016 23:47:52
Maybe a mad conspiracy theorist but do the Eds make sure there's a full stop at the end of every post, the scientific approach would be to test the theory.

{Ed003's Note - .}

05 Oct 2016 01:11:38
I see you, Eds.

05 Oct 2016 08:17:08
We should sing his name loud next weekend at anfield.

{Ed001's Note - great idea. He is a big Liverpool fan, it would make his day to hear his name sung.}

04 Oct 2016 14:11:51
Good day Eds and Reds,

Just remembering a post by Waro a few days back where he mentioned the 5-0 victory over Brian Cloughs Nott Forest back in King Kenny's day; this made me very nostalgic as this was also for me one of the most amazing team displays I have ever witnessed. This alongside the Rafa CL final of 2005 are 2 of my favourite LFC displays for different reasons (there are loads more), but these 2 stick in my mind the most.

What are everyone else's?

The 5-4 against Norwich last season was top class.

04 Oct 2016 14:52:35
How about 4-3 against Dortmond? Breathe taking!

04 Oct 2016 15:04:31
5-0 at Arsenal under Rodgers. We were unstoppable, amazing to watch. Also loved the 3-3 win on pens in the FA Cup final. Stevie just took over the match.

04 Oct 2016 16:01:58
5-1 ^^. Couldn't of been that memorable lol.

04 Oct 2016 17:17:44
Wolves 1-3 Liverpool 1976, bunked of school to go, Steve Kindon scored for Wolves before Keegan, Toshack and Ray Kennedy for us to win league over QPR on goal difference, think if it was
Wolves win or draw upto 3-3 QPR would have won league,
Remember Gerry Francis and other QPR players watching in tv studio (way before live games) thinking they were going to win it until 3 late goals.

04 Oct 2016 17:10:50
February 91, FA Cup 5th round replay at Goodison Park. We lead 4 times, Beardsley 2, Rush and Barnes all great goals. But Everton kept coming back and equalising all scrappy goals mind. 2 days later Dalglish resigned! . Istanbul obviously, but that tends to make you forget about the amazing uefa cup final against Alaves in 2001, crazy game. Things just kept going our way in the run in that year was like a crest of a wave. Losing the League title at Anfield 2-0 against Arsenal with pretty much the last kick of the season is also memorable but for all the wrong reason's, was 11 at the time and still the only time I've cried over a result.

04 Oct 2016 17:25:46
the dortmund game last year and the CL final for me. The 5-1 against arsenal was also brilliant, didn't we score something like the first 4 in 20 mins or so? was crazy that one.

04 Oct 2016 17:46:58
thrashing spurs 5-0 and that goal and celebration from Flanagan was very special.

04 Oct 2016 17:55:47
You are all obviously too young to remember beating the blues twice at Wembley in the cup finals. They where truly historic days, Istanbul was also incredible.

04 Oct 2016 17:59:03
I grew up with a guy who played in that Forest 5-0 drubbing. Forest were our biggest rivals for everything at that stage, and they'd bloodied our noses a few times.
They were lucky it was only 5, probably the most breathtaking display I've seen from any Liverpool side ever.

04 Oct 2016 18:56:00
Istanbul - me and me mates drove there, were crushed at half-time, resurrected by full time and elated following the penalty shootout. Craziest game I;ve ever watched - that I was in the stadium, for a Champions League final watching my beloved Liverpool, and they managed to win it? Magic. I'll be telling kids and grandkids about it until i'm in the grave.

04 Oct 2016 19:49:18
3-2 against Everton, think 88? Aldridge, then Rush on as sub to bag 2.

04 Oct 2016 20:34:36
This will mean nothing to anyone else but a 2-1 home win against Leicester in September 2003 sticks in my mind. Pen from Owen and volley from Heskey. Night of passion in a hotel with the missus after the game and nine months later my lad was born. That, the 5-0 over Forest and the 5-4 over Alaves stick with me, as well as Istanbul obviously.

04 Oct 2016 22:19:08
Reading through some great memories there, mine is the 5_1 away at Arsenal only because I went to Liverpool supporters bar and my god the atmosphere was incredible, great attacking football fantastic fans.

04 Oct 2016 23:18:56
Unless we've done it twice, wasn't the 5-1 against Arsenal at Anfield?

For me, having been born in 1990 and never witnessed a title winning side, one of the best team performances we had was the 4-1 win at Old Trafford to keep our title hopes alive in 2008/ 09.

This was no average man united of the last few years.
They were top of the league with Ronaldo, Tevez, Rooney, Ferdinand, Vidic, all in their prime. and we utterly embarrassed them.

Coming four days after a 4-0 win against Real Madrid, that was a good week to be a Liverpool fan.

05 Oct 2016 01:11:51
Cheers Joe yes it was at home mate.

05 Oct 2016 07:12:27
1993 3 nil down to utd only to come back and draw 3 all ruddick eith yhe header!

05 Oct 2016 07:48:25
4-0 away to the mancs. Torres run VisiCalc ragged.

05 Oct 2016 10:43:19
1977 European Cup Final! I was so nervous watching game. Great team who should have won the FA Cup a few days before. I went from total despair to total jubilation in the space 4 days😀.

05 Oct 2016 13:04:20
4-0 away to the Mancs? Don't remember that 🤔.

05 Oct 2016 13:50:30
1977 European Cup Quarter Final second leg versus St Etienne. We won 3-1, after losing the first leg 1-0. Supersub, David Fairclough, scored the winner, with just six minutes remaining and the roof of the Kop blew off. The best game of football that I have ever seen and the loudest and best atmosphere that I ever experienced anywhere, let alone Anfield.

St Etienne were regarded as the best team in Europe, by most people, at the time, and after that victory, we truly dared to believe, rightly so as it turned out. Happy memories!

05 Oct 2016 14:10:14
Liverpool 7.0 Spurs 1978 I think

Best Liverpool team for me, quality throughout and one of the best team goals from Terry Mac

Great Memories.

05 Oct 2016 16:45:30
I think it was the 87 FA cup final against Everton when Rush scored 2 and Craig Johnson scored the other. and then Istanbul. 🏆🏆🏆.

05 Oct 2016 17:10:24
I remember that game Kloppite. St. Etienne was my favorite non-English team at the time, and it was one hell of a game. And then we went on to beat Borussia Moenchengladbach in the Final. That campaign was Liverpool's "coming out" party on the World stage, I guess.

04 Oct 2016 12:30:18
How can people disagree when we are talking about a ex-player's life? Such sad sad people.
Get well soon Rigabert.

04 Oct 2016 13:05:20
Apologies all what I should have said in my original post is"a person's life"Ex-player or not he's still a person.

04 Oct 2016 14:01:00
I have actually learnt to completely ignore it now mate. I don't think I've used the button any more than 10 times in this sites history. On the contrary, if I disagree I comment my contrasting opinions and invoke a discussion. I find the disagree button to be distasteful and childish in most scenarios if I'm honest. I probably wouldn't perceive the disagree function in such a way if it wasn't misused and abused though.

I'm sure some people who regularly hit the buttons have genuine and legitimate reasons for doing so.

04 Oct 2016 14:06:32
I know Barry, I don't understand either mate. seen it all now.

04 Oct 2016 14:04:36
ignore the disagrees mate. although ed001 you might wanna consider naming the agree/ disagrees similar to facebook i guess? atleast its transparent. may help with disagrees and what not.

{Ed001's Note - personally I would rather they were not on the sites at all, but more people want them than don't so they have stayed so far.}

04 Oct 2016 14:38:48
Throw them out Ed. It's nothing more than keyboard warriors thinking there clever.

04 Oct 2016 15:13:18
Agree there are so many trolls clicking disagree to sensible posts they are not a true reflection of real supporters views (I sincerely hope! ) so I'd love to see them removed.

04 Oct 2016 16:14:31
Maybe have a poll Ed.

04 Oct 2016 17:18:36
Ironically reusch more opportunities for people to click on agree or disagree.

04 Oct 2016 17:22:50
Excellent idea have a poll definitely.

04 Oct 2016 17:31:57
When your scrolling through on a phone it's very easy to knock disagree by accident, done it loads of times myself.
I accidentally knocked disagree on something about the 96 once and I was mortified, especially when posters started saying "what scumbag did that etc"
So some might be by accident.

04 Oct 2016 18:02:09
I'd just have the "agrees" as a compromise.

04 Oct 2016 18:42:37
Must admit Mikey I've pressed disagree by mistake a few times, but to be honest with you all, they don't bother me, it usually means someone has noticed your post, wether they agree or not.

04 Oct 2016 21:06:43
May as well just keep the buttons, at least it keeps their hands busy and from playing with themselves for once.

04 Oct 2016 23:11:55
Classic Mikey lol.

05 Oct 2016 01:32:13
Be only noticed that I have done it once through accident scrolling on the mobile, but there is probably more that I haven't noticed. I try to be more careful, but when you check the site first thing in the morning / last thing at night you can be a little careless sometimes.

Tottenham Hotspur Premier League season so far

Believable4 Unbelievable5

04 Oct 2016 14:34:55
Interesting read, any chance of one on utd?

{Ed001's Note - they will be done on all the Prem clubs over the international break.}

04 Oct 2016 15:10:47
Thanks mate.

04 Oct 2016 17:30:12
So out of interest do you think spurs have what it takes to go all the way? I think they have a good group of players and will be tough to stop. I also believe that at this particular point in time they have the edge over us defensively but we are marginally better in attack.

I would like to see matip and lovren forge a real partnership and when karius settles down we will have a proper team to really push for trophies. I think Loris is their difference maker atm rather than their defenders who are no better than ours tbh. He made a string of key saves against man city that boosted their self belief to see the game out. It will be an interesting battle this yr with quite a few teams in the mix.

04 Oct 2016 21:08:48
Lasagne ed? Lol.

{Ed001's Note - don't you remember the food sickness on the final day? That was caused by a lasagne.}

05 Oct 2016 12:51:43
Agh I did forget haha
Thought it was a typo :)

{Ed001's Note - for once it was not an error. Had to happen some day.}

04 Oct 2016 11:49:14
Just wondering what happened with paco at valencia, big fan of his and disappointed to hear he wasn't able to fix the mess left behind by Neville. Really hope his reputation hasn't been tarnished. Obviously I think he did a fantastic job with us.

Believable7 Unbelievable12

04 Oct 2016 12:22:20
A bit much blaning valencia's troubles at the feet of Nevile - he was only there 5 minutes!

04 Oct 2016 13:04:33
That's a fair criticism.

04 Oct 2016 13:25:40
Mess left behind by Nevile? Nevile did not last 3 months at Valencia.

04 Oct 2016 13:26:58
Mess left behind by Nevile? Nevile did not last 3 months at Valencia.

04 Oct 2016 14:50:25
the mess at Valencia is the fault of one person only: peter lim, thankfully he did not get his hands on Liverpool fc.

04 Oct 2016 15:01:39
Lol In those 3 months he did take them from 5 points off the champions league to 6 points away from relegation. Worst win % of any Valencia manager in la Liga history. Bit of a mess I'd say.

04 Oct 2016 17:37:47
I meant fair criticism that it's probably not his fault, just a shame about paco is all.

04 Oct 2016 10:15:21
It looks like rigobert song is on the mend, fantastic news. fingers crossed the next few days all go well, good to see the recent news though.

04 Oct 2016 09:02:58
Eds if I may ask a question if you have a spare moment.

Do you expect us to be seeing more of grujic this season? I know it's early and all but I'd really like to see more of him, I know it's not a lot to go on but he did a fine job in pre season. i'd like to see more of him, i think he'll be an excellent addition in the future.

Am I right in thinking he needs games, something to do with his work permit? I vaguely remember reading something about that.

Believable4 Unbelievable10

{Ed001's Note - yes, I expect him to play more as the season goes on.}

04 Oct 2016 09:29:48
Thanks Ed1 - that's good to hear.

{Ed001's Note - well he has to due to the work permit as you mentioned.}

04 Oct 2016 09:45:50
Thanks for clarifying I thought I'd read something about it a while back, great young player, i'm imagining him and hendo. maybe letting my imagination run wild but i think they'd be an incredible partnership. But of course Grujic is young, he needs time, but i definately think he's got that spark.

04 Oct 2016 13:28:10
I would play him alongside Hendo instead of Wijnaldum. Or may be instead of lallana.

04 Oct 2016 15:25:03
Klopp is pretty good at integrating players IMO, and I think he's smart to ease him in once he's integrated more experienced newcomers like Matip, Karius and Wiji. he's changed as much as he can without losing all the work he spent establishing a style of play during the second half of last season.

Consistency was key heading into this season and Grujic's got plenty of time yet to get game time in the cups and ease into the PL. I have great hopes for him too BTW.

05 Oct 2016 13:01:06
It's a long season I'm sure grujic will get his chance.

04 Oct 2016 08:31:39
Not made any comments on this site since before the start of the season but just sat back and watched what I expected and indeed predicted - huge negativity, criticism of transfers before they even got chance to show what it takes to become part of a team, etc then almost instantly followed by excitement and now "over-optimism" as the team gels and starts to perform at pretty reasonable level!

You know, it is unfortunately human nature! Mr average has this tendency to think so short term, to moan one minute and to get over excited and expectant the next.

Move this up a level to the average boardrooms and we find similar characteristics - after all the directors are also mainly Mr Averages. All too eager to sack managers on the back of a few negative results without giving time to install an approach and build what this sport is about (and that is a "team" based on a "squad" not a set of individual players or worse 'egos') .

I said I thought Klopp's dealings were good ones but I also said it would all be dependent upon his ability to get a team to gel and that is no different to any team sport or even team in a business environment. We just had to trust and offer time rather than criticism! Decent (not necessarily the best) resources will almost always perform better in a team environment than the very best if the former are motivated and the latter are troubled in some way (e. g. Fighting to be the top dog, etc) . I predicted an ego clash at Man U (perhaps even hoped) - early days but I see some trouble there?!

Now Klopp, and the board supporting him, have a long way to go and I am not going to sit here getting over-expectant due to a decent start (and I know we always have a "Burnley" still in us) but to have written it all off up front and then to go totally the other way now just proves to me the level of hypocritical judgement that exists in the average person.

It's been entertaining though to read, I give those that have contributed that credit!

Believable13 Unbelievable15

04 Oct 2016 08:52:56
Good post mate.

04 Oct 2016 09:17:13
Excellent post. Not that the modern day fan will pay any attention to it, they'll be too busy finding something to whinge about!

04 Oct 2016 15:30:42
Well said L8, we'll have our ups and downs but overall heading in the right direction with a clear philosophy, an enthusiastic coach, some outstanding talent and a team culture that can be the difference in a tight race, let's just enjoy the ride!

05 Oct 2016 13:07:17
We are moving in the right direction, I think that the game at Swansea showed more positives than negatives, that was a hard won game and showed the kind of grit needed to get top four. There were far more positives than negatives, Henderson was (again) brilliant, Milner was great at left back, our attacking players were hard to contain in the second half. Only fault was the goal and we were slow out the blocks. But these are things we can work on. Bring on the mancs!

06 Oct 2016 13:27:18
Thanks for the comments all!

Interestingly I see that all those that pressed the "disagree" button have some fear of making comment. Perhaps we'd be able to look back at their posts and see the type of hypocracy I was referring to in full flow?! 😊 YNWA!

03 Oct 2016 23:59:32
We have played well as a team in most games, but my question is which player has had the best individual performance so far? I would have to go with Firmino vs Leicester, where every touch of the ball was absolutely magical.

Believable11 Unbelievable12

04 Oct 2016 00:20:11
Henderson -Milner- firmino

In that order.

04 Oct 2016 00:44:51
Coutinho against Arsenal. Two magical goals and an assist as well i think.

04 Oct 2016 00:51:53
Mane at arsenal was pretty special. Maybe it was just the long wait for a player like that.

04 Oct 2016 01:41:52
Coutinho vs Arsenal, scored a sumptuous free kick and terrorised the Arsenal defence until he went of injured, also scored a clever finish with his shin from a Clyne cross.

04 Oct 2016 02:31:30
I agree with that but Henderson's very close for me. I remember reading a few months ago and some posters was giving him hassle. Where are they now. He brings so much to the team it's incredible, he's improving all the time. What a great talent that lad is.

04 Oct 2016 07:45:25
Moreno v Arsenal.

04 Oct 2016 13:03:44
Henderson - Firmino - Milner have impressed me. Clyne has also started to put really decent balls into the box when he charges down the outside which is nice to see, so he's starting to grow on me.

04 Oct 2016 13:37:26
I have slated Hendo a lot and have seen the error in my ways. Still think he is not the type of player to command midfield but support him none the less as long as he wear the Liverpool shirt.

04 Oct 2016 13:52:43
Bit left field but I think Henderson against Spurs. We didn't win but he ran the midfield and Spurs were lucky it wasn't a hammering. Had our finishing been better it probably would've been! He do played his part perfectly though.

04 Oct 2016 12:39:29
I agree, Remember the season we nearly won the league with Gerrard Suarez and Co. if am right he missed 3 or 4 games and we just missed the title. if anyone disagree please reply.

04 Oct 2016 17:19:02
Matip for me. The guy is just awesome and very dependable.
