Is it me or does Carroll spend more time on the ground then his feet... Also people are saying he need service but when he gets the crosses which are good he messes up... Hopefully he will get better but right now he is a massive flop. (sorry about the rant)

Great website eds!

It's not Carroll on the floor all the time, its Suarez. If somebody would instruct him to put as much effort in scoring as he does diving, acting and whinging he might contribute more. Right now he's a poser who produces very little. And how ugly is the boy..dammed ugly!

Yes he has been diving and yes he is a sook, but he is our best player and created plenty of chances againts Fulham for us to win the game but no one steped up. He cant do everything!

i think downing should start! feel his 1st goal aint far away! bellamy shd be brought in as a sub at 60mins! wd be a handfull then with his pace!

Not for me. KK has been spot on leaving Downing out these last few games. More often than not he looks like he doesn't care. I wish he could play with even 10% of the passion that Bellamy brings to every game. I just wonder how much playing for LFC means to SD. He certainly has not played close to the level that was expected when he signed. Very disappointed.

Y is every one saying spearing isnt good enough when it was a great tackle. The ref was completely wrong to send him off

05 Dec 2011 23:54:32
i can say one thing honestly, i was one of them who slated roy hodgson last season and im sure alot of u were but if this was roy now, leading us to 7th in league and losing against fulham today, alot of you including me would be murdering him. all im saying is dont have blind faith in kenny, he was one the greatest liverpool players ever and was a good manager back in the day but some decisions hes made or hasnt made has cost us big time, he was in no hurry to change the team tonight even though we were looking pretty average and couldn't score.RedTurk {Ed001's Note - but we did score, the goal was wrongly disallowed and whenever a player did burst into the box there was a foul and a free kick was given outside the box. So, as usual, you are talking utter whinging nonsense.}

Well said ed! cant wait for the leveling act of luck! our share is way overdue! and to add, henderson beat the keeper fair and square, denied by that stupid post again and so was downing! i back us to win carling, fa cup and pip out a top four finish! balaji raman

Just be honest ed did we look that good really throughout the whole game? we were getting attacked down the left soo much, kenny didnt spot, didnt change nothing to get that goal we needed.RedTurk {Ed001's Note - yes, yes, you are a tactical genius and that is why Kenny has never won league titles as a manager. Clearly he knows nothing and you know everything. You really have no understanding of why the change isn't made, nor why Johnson plays every game. Have you ever considered there is a contract issue?}

Go to bed red turk.

Contract issue ed? {Ed001's Note - yes contract issue, that is why he plays every league game when fit at right back.}

Isnt it to help ensure he keeps his international rb spot?
NZL_Red

So is this blame Johnson again week? Last week game winner now shouldn't be in the team again... Maybe if we buy a decent RM in front of him will help. I would select Johnson everygame if fit.

05 Dec 2011 23:53:28
We are really getting hammered by referees this season, but we cant blame, we were really poor against fulham and deserved the loss, as a supporter you have to be realistic, we lost and we deserved it. Its football, its life, get over it no one is to blame. All the liverpool supporters are gonna be back at anfield for QPR and we are gonna expect more, simple as that, LETS GO LIVERPOOL

reviews:
Reina:good untill murphys shot.

Skrtel:was a bit dodge at times but good

Agger:good

Enrique: Very good

Johnson:taught he was poor today and it was mainly his fault we lost... Like he let DANNY MURPHY run by him

Spearing: made a cuople good interceptions and takles but bad positoning.. Cant do long balls.

Henderson:was excelent. Love him always had faith even when friends slated him. Next gerrard.

adam:was good and bad ... He trys to many fancy passes our movement was poor when he had the ball..

Bellamy: didnt impress me.

Suarez: good on the ball.. good movement startn to think he iss a attacking mid.. He is suprisingly bent

carroll:i have supported him from the start have happy when i found out we got him knowing the price(when they rejected 30 million i was like go on 35) i celebrated hid newcastle goals... I went to the pub to watch him play chelsea when he scored .. But he is sh*t for us... He needs to show signs of improvement.. He doesnt look like he wants the ball.. Never makes cf runs.. Tracks back? Whatever..

Downing. Very good unlucky not to score for us yet.. I started to doubt him recently but he regained my faith tonite..

Kuyt: 'HAS BEEN' a great player for us but its time.. Hes not getn any better we need young talent ready to prove theyre worth.
P.s hes so slow.. Soto would beat him in a 100 dash.

Sorry for being a whining B*TCH but i dont care im pis*ed off..

Paul

I thought carroll was pretty good tonight. considering his aerial advantage is his main attribute and hangeland was marking him all game he showed a few decent touches and was unlucky not to score from suarez's cross

Can we please drop Andy Carroll now? We should play Maxi, Suarez and Bellamy whenever they are all available. Adam, Henderson and Lucas/Spearing/Coady in midfield and the usual back four. We need to realise that either the service in to Carroll is not good enough, or Andy Carroll is not good enough. Either way, it isn't working with him up front. Maxi, Bellamy and Suarez is far more dangerous. I know people will say it's because fans like me have hurt his feelings by posting negative comments on the web, but, he's been here coming up to a year now, he's no closer to looking the part and we play better football with him off the field. Sorry for the rant, I know I'll be attacked for "not being a real fan" or whatever but I just needed to vent my frustration.

Ash

Spot on mate, you r right about everything, 110% agreed

You might be a real fan but you're not a real SUPPORTER. Should've ditched Rush after a year too - he was crap in 1980-81.

cozinoz

Difference was that the team was still winning! Right now we can't carry a passinger who might, just might, come good and in the meantime completely distorts the way we should be playing.

I think this seson our team very bad luck in many game. we must find out, who can change it. my suggestion, we all together pray for out team to win agin.

As the feeling of smashing stuff diminshes I feel like I'm ready to leave a comment, a good performance by the lads, can't really fault any of the players, we did lack intensity in this match and failed to pressure them on offense as we did in the last 3 matches. I hate to blame the ref as much as I wan't to but refs don't win you throphies. The team lacks that killer instinct that you need to win games on a regular basis. The mentality has been way to soft and players are to quick to put their chin down , rely on others to win the match and fail to keep a cool head. I do think we need another attacking player, come jan. I'm not giving anyone on the team stick saying that I think, it's just we are lacking depht there. If we have to stick with what we got wich is fine by me. I think all the lads will gel better in the coming weeks and months as they have been doing lately. But top four seems unlikely if we stick with what we got unless Kenny puts his boots on everytime we need a goal and subs himself in with 5min to go. Hope the lads have more luck next week and that Spearo is not to gutted he played fine with the weight of Lucas injury on his back.YNWA! P.S. Ed's thanks for a very good site and of course you lot for having me hooked on it.
ChinUp.

05 Dec 2011 23:38:49
We can blame the ref all we want but if we had scored a few, which we should have, we would have won. Carroll's movement was poor. He has barely troubled defenders all season when he has played. The amount of times I see defenders playing the ball out of the back when he is playing shows this. He either needs to up his game or go back to the bench. For me not scoring isnt the problem its the way how he moves and areas he occupies.

05 Dec 2011 23:36:19
With Gerrard, Lucas and Spearing now out, we have no true ball winner. We therefore need to pick a side capable of retaining possession, passing & moving / interchanging to create chances. We also need to start killing off the opposition in the first half. QPR, Villa & Wigan are up next, I would pick the following team...

-----------Reina------------
Johnson-Skrtel-Agger-Enrique
-----------Hendo-----------
------Maxi-------Adam------
Downing---Suarez----Bellamy

Subs: Carra, Coates, Kelly, Shelvey, Kuyt, Carroll

Maxi deserves a start and is more than capable of playing in a middle 3.

Red Otter

I think shelvey isn't bad at tackling

05 Dec 2011 23:32:30
also why does everytime someone is one an one with johnson, he balms it, he acts like hes gonna be skinned by messi, and falls over, goes the wrong way, its 50/50 whether he gets done everytime, kelly would of read the game better and i would say hes not as stupid and knows how to put in a cross better than johnson, probably just as good passer to, just stick johnson on the F'n wing

05 Dec 2011 23:27:47
team for saturday
reina..
kelly.....skrtle.....agger.....enrique

johnson/kuyt...hendo....adam.....maxi

bellamy/kuyt/shelvey...

suarez..

personally i'd like to see jonjo behind suarez what do you think guys,ed ?
{Ed001's Note - he played really well as part of a front 3 for Blackpool, I think he deserves a shot.}

05 Dec 2011 23:27:27
ref was disgusting but we cant hide behind just the ref, we were poor and flat for alot of the game, carroll does not suit liverpool, he might be a good player for a long ball team but not us, spearing will not replace lucas, proved it for me today. Why wasn't johnson replaced? i just dont get it that kenny didnt see the problem there. kelly was waiting on the bench there and can defend 10 times better. we need 3 quality players in january, right winger, cm/playmaker and striker, if we get these 3 we will be a genuine force if we dont, we are simply an average team without suarez. if you wana swear at me or call me a manc, go ahead. i only want to see us play to our strengths and i would like kenny to stick to his word of playing players based on performances not price tags.RedTurk

05 Dec 2011 23:24:37
haha 100 mil and ur still gona finish 7th at best

05 Dec 2011 23:22:10
After today's game againt Fulham, it clearly shows we need 3 new players:

1) A striker who can finish goals:

Lukas Poldoski, 26, German: if he is considered as a player we could buy we should go for it as soon as the window opens. £12m - £15m would be enough considerin is past transfer fee's.

Moussa Sow,25, French: He is also considered a possibility and is a good player if we get him, but would be closer to £20m t get him. Probably go to Aresenal as well.

Luuk De Joing, 21, Holland: I know he is linked and has great potential but I dont think he will have the same impact as Poldoski or Sow (a Proven Goal Scorer for club and country)

2) A Holding Midfielder (FOR LOAN ONLY), I havent really looked into who could be avaliable for Loan but I think AC Milan could spare one to us considering they have Alberto from us. We cant let this position be overlooked as it's vital to how we play. Jay is a decent option is we need cover for a couple of weeks but not half the season. Also to buy a player would just be stupid becuase Lucas has become soo good lately.

3) A Young, Pacey, Tricky Winger:

Marko Marin, 22, German: He is not in form but he could be avaliable and his natural ability to beat players and create chances is their. No Intrest in him though...

Kagawa, 22, Japanese: is a good playmaker but not a natural winger. Also will cost over £20m for him.

A.Johnson, 24, English: would be my first choice but it seems unlikely without City getting a replacment for him, but if they do I belive £15m-£20m would be enough to get him and he would be worth it (Considering he is actually a good ENGLISH Player).

Marco Reus, 22, German: Hot form, very good player who scores goals aswell, has a but out clause of £14m (18 million Euro's) at the end of the season. A checky bid of £15m-£20m could make something happen but Liverpool arent showing intrest so Unlikely.

I think lukas podolski we be perfect player and be happy to go as much as 20 mil for him

Your mum is better than carroll mate

05 Dec 2011 23:11:50
A 5 or 6 nil a hammering to fulham

Get real peeps not with this team and no striker to boot!

Suarez maybe one of the best players in europe but he aint one of the best strikers in europe spot the difference?

Gerrard is sadly missed.

At least its obvious what we need in jan, and we need to play the players who are actually scoring goals, for f sake

05 Dec 2011 23:10:01
We deserved a win tonight. Not sure what kenny has to do. He clearly has the team creating chances, but no one (and really, NO ONE) can put them away. Perhaps instead of buying another striker we should hire someone to teach the buys how to put their foot through on the ball.

To win games you need to score goals, but we definitely did not deserve to loose the game.

05 Dec 2011 23:09:58
Hi ed Do you know of any interest in a top class striker, we definately need one to go with suarez and sorry to say but carroll is not up to liverpools standard. if liverpool want to get anywhere near the top four i think carroll needs to be replaced by someone that can score from 6 yards and control the ball.dont forget suarez may be banned soon and then where are the goals coming from? {Ed001's Note - I have been asked this question repeatedly since August 31st, am bored to tears of answering it now. Is it not possible you could read back through the numerous times it is asked a day?}

05 Dec 2011 23:07:01
Ref had a shocker, we hit the bar twice, Suarez was ruled offside when clearly not, their keeper made a few outstanding saves, we had about 3 gilt-edged chances to score and missed all, an unfair red card, a strong penalty claim given outside the box and the opponents scored what was virtually their second chance of the game that wasn't a 25-yard pot-shot after an extended period of Liverpool pressure.

This has become the norm every week this season. Incredibly frustrating, but I suppose it is all self-imposed given the amount of opportunities we bottle.

Poor old Jay Spearing was completely out of his depth tonight. He was unlucky to get sent off and made no obvious crucial mistakes, but he lost everything in the air (not that this wasn't expected), was poor in distribution, kept leaving massive gaps in midfield between him and Adam and lost practically every tackle and ground duel (a defensive midfielder's ultimate job). He's not a lick on Lucas, and that's not really his fault as they're different types of players who are suited best in a partnership - Lucas sweeping and putting out fires with Spearing being the terrier biting at the opponents heels.
What is glaringly obvious, however, is that Spearing is pants in the Lucas role. I would say give him another game or two once he comes back from suspension to prove himself. We simply don't have enough to time to let him bed in and adjust to a new role so he either sinks or swims upon his return. Up until and possibly after that, give Coady a lash alongside Henderson with Adam as the creative spark and Shelvey as cover for him.

anyone remember benitez playing aurelio in midfield against portsmouth, not that i blame spearing but surely aurelio cant do much worse.what do you think guys?

p.s carroll will only be a success if liverpool have two class natural wingers

Yes, are crossing has been very poor, gerrard would fix that, he has killer balls, downing can do better, its like they dont practice anything at all, learn how to cross! and carroll try harder to get on the end of them.

Carroll = waste of money and a place in the team for a player that will put a shift in like kuyt or maxi. He is costing us points atm when will people realize it?

i have supported liverpool for 38 years and i think henderson is one of the worst buys ive seen. we need a new striker because andy carroll is really not up to liverpool standards. hopefully the owners will look for a striker in january otherwise we are gonna finish about 10th and we dont want that.lets just buy someone that can put the ball in the net from 6 yards

Slate Carroll as much as you want but do not slate Henderson!

Henderson is improving each game. At the start of the season he looked a bit like a rabbit in the headlights but as time has gone by he has found his feet and looks like a good signing. Remember he is still young and his best years are still in front of him.

Where to start...
Bad day at the office

Ref was poor although not an excuse for losing. not a red card IMO, follow through caught him after ball gone, made it easier for fulham. He gave zero protection to Suarez, booked bellers for having dempsey headbutt him and didn't send senderos off for 2 professional fouls. Wt...?!

To us..good n bad points

Good
Adam and Hendo - getting better game by game. Adam needs to take all free kicks, like SG would if he was on.
Bellamy / suarez - good game both, total livewires. Defence ok but missed Lucas at times, spearo was ok but shud have stayed on his feet, Lucas would've.

Bad
Kk - total respect but got it wrong. why change a winning team/formation? What has Maxi got to do to play every week? Maxi Bellamy Suarez all compact, quick thinking and fluid against big immobile CBs, why play Carroll? Even though he got it wrong, we STILL did enough to win but for schwarzer and post!

AC - i'll support all players whilst on pitch but I am really beginning to lose hope. Except for one decent shot, did nothing else, kept falling over, barely held ball up, it was like playing with 10 men even when we had 11. Kuyt won more headers and held ball up more in 10mins than AC did in prev 75! Yes his confidence is down but we can't keep making way for him. He had to do something.
Reminds me of crouch time when he wasn't scoring at least with him you could see he was trying, laying ball off to SG, bellers an kuyt.
Time to put sentiment to one side KK...

Tough luck on pepe, Johnson shud never have been skinned by murphy.

Earlier today i posted my team
Reina
GJ agger skrtl Enrique
Hendo Adam
Kuyt maxi bellers
Suarez

I'm sure most of you will agree that this team would have played them off the park. Luis being out left 1st half nullified him. Kk needs to stick to a formation and let other team worry about us, not other way round. Our players are good enough to work it out. With spearo out for weekend, Hendo Adam an maxi have to be middle 3, with downing left, Suarez up top and Bellamy right.

onwards and upwards

YNWA

Thats my team too, invention n pace n hard work, carrol wouldnt even make the bench

If nothing else, tonight showed all those who doubted Lucas what he brought to the team. an absolute master in his position, will sadly be missed. spearo did ok but was somewhat ball watching and his positional sense was off.

it makes my skin crawl to say this but the secret to ol whiskey noses successes over the years was that he is never sentimental. if the player wasn't good enough or had a shocker, he was dropped - simple as. the Team is far bigger than any one individual (as carra is learning) but we have to stop this 'lets get andy carroll into the team somehow' methodology. it's not working! AC will never be able play pass n move...EVER! he's not got quick feet, give and go or make a run, and KK is not a big lump it up top fan either, so why bother?

also, even though he's played alright tonight, adam has to play the quarterback role a la alonso. think to the 1st chelski game, when hendo came on in AM role, he sat back and was then able to pick out passes incl Gj on right for the winner.

KK / SC et all are doing a grandjob overall but there is alot of food for thought over the next few days methinks.

sinner21

I like that team too. Carroll is so lacking in confidence now, I wonder if a spell in the reserves would help him to regain his goalscoring form and rebuild his confidence. I think that Carroll's form is not helping Suarez either and he looks really frustrated.

why change the team from sundays mtch with city!!?????(lucas the obv exeption). plus i dont get all the dont blame him r him crap. all be it i dont blame carrol cos he never asked to pay 35m etc,but i dont thnk hes up to much(awates the your a poor fan for slaggng of lfc player bla bla),phone in shows r rife with frustrated fans wishing for an out n out striker n if that were to happen the carrol lad will never get a game . bellamy up with suarez with downing n kuyt on the wings, would have more bite with that, most lfc fans dont want carrol n the 11 and thats the majority i listened to at anfield after swansea game

5 gold stars

05 Dec 2011 22:59:02
If anyone was in any doubt about what Lucas has been doing for the team for 2 years, hopefully they realise now. Have you ever seen a team have so many unchallenged shots from just outside the box as tonight?

Spearing just doesn't have the ability or brains to play for Liverpool. He tries to give the impression that he's controlling everything by pointing his arms and telling everyone where to run or play the ball but falls asleep and lets men run off him.

Finally, its about time Dalglish sorted out in training before games who is taking free kicks and penalties, instead of letting players squabble over them on the pitch. This 'schoolboy' type mentality has already cost us dearly this season and will continue to do so when Suarez always end up taking them and knocking them over the bar or into the wall. In case Dalglish is not sure who should be on them, lets just give him a few clues. He's Scottish, is left footed and used to knock them in for fun at Blackpool, where his teammates knew who was the expert and let him get on with it.

05 Dec 2011 22:56:01
We lost again - so what! We didn't deserve to but the players were trying to walk the ball into the goal at the beginning. I don't know what the solution is but neither do any of the posters on this site. What I do know is that any free kick within twenty yards of the opposition goal creates NO DANGER WHATSO- EVER. There seems to be no co-ordination among the players and it's pot luck as to who takes the free kick. I also think that we are not getting the luck that goes with being a good side but that will change. Let's be optimistic and supportive of the team. Maxi scores in two games that he starts and to some he's the answer - he isn't -look at his goalscoring record overall - it's not that great. I am as depressed as everyone else with the result but I think most of us (if we are honest) expected it after the way the game was going. We've seen it many times before. THINGS CAN ONLY GET BETTER.

05 Dec 2011 22:55:00
Top 4 side would have finished Fulham of by 60 mins we didnt as we lacked quality with finishing. This is probably the 5th game we have failed to win due to lack of finishing ability. New Striker / winger required that is in form and can finish... or we drop Carroll for Maxi!

05 Dec 2011 22:49:51
What would you say our chances of getting back xabi alonso would be if we tried. He could play alongside gerrard (when he is fit) and Adam.

He has a great pass on him and would be great to supply luis Suarez upfront.

Great site, keep it up!

{Ed001's Note - if that is directed at me, then about the same as our chance of winning the league this season.}

05 Dec 2011 22:48:19
Poor Ref tonight and all too easy to blame the result on one of the following reasons...
1. Headbutt = Sending off
2. Spearing's tackle was never a red
3. Senderos - pulls down Carroll off the ball - ref gives a freekick but not a second yellow.
4. Suarez Goal was not offside.

But we should have been 2/3 clear by then anyway. We should be beating teams like Fulham - only 2 wins before tonight all season. Look at the other games at the weekend, the teams we are competing with are scoring goals for fun at the moment and we are have 17 in 14 games. Not good enough.

On another point, Carroll is looking out of his depth, but is not getting the help or support he needs as the team is not playing to his strengths. We are not getting the ball wide and putting crosses in the box for him to attack. Also need to look at his 'partner' Suarez. Now Suarez is a great player, but its not a partnership up there. Carroll needs someone who will play close to him for him to win headers and play in.

Suarez is too unpredictable for it to work as a partnership. The defenders never know what he is going to do and half the time I dont think his own team mates know either. I wouldn't change him, but if he is playing in a 442, the 2 up front need to have a better understanding. Kuyt would play better as the second striker with Carroll or Suarez.

I sour just like to say, stop moaning about referee decisions.Nothing we can do about that.Overall I think the team played well.We had the chances to win the game before and after spearings red card(which I must say quality tackle).keep the faith are pass and move is getting better week in week out.stop whinging and get behind the team which are supporters at the game did throughout.

We are behind the team. Talking about the game is a means of venting frustration.

05 Dec 2011 22:44:28
I couldnt fault one player tonight. The usual suspects will be held responsible by the blame brigade. Pay them no heed. We were very unlucky and had to contend with some bad officiating. Dembeles jump to avoid Spearing made it look worse than it was. No red. Suarez goal was onside. Adam should have had a penalty and Senderos a red card. If that wasnt a clear goalscoring opportunity, I don't know what is. Suarez is also getting nothing from the officials. No Apocaplyptic proclamations please. Our luck will change.

05 Dec 2011 22:34:41
I genuinely think today was hard luck to the team and us fans, but a question for the eds why did KK not play suarez with bellamy upfront instead of carroll?
I really think if we go for a clinical finisher in jan we will get our answer for all our wasted attacking play.
hibsylfc {Ed001's Note - because he wanted to give Suarez more space to operate in. Carroll keeps the centre backs occupied, they can't push one past him as he is an aerial threat. One needs to challenge him aerially, the other then has to drop off on the cover. That creates space between the defence and midfield, which means the midfield has to drop back or leave space for Suarez.}

Carroll won like 2 headers the whole game , one against murphy . not hard

You could stick me up there, i could do a better job haha, no seriously...

I only post once in a while, what is up with us, the amount of times hitting the woodwork and keepers doing top saves (when against other top teams, keepers are making howlers)

I really rate kelly and he should be right back, johnson can not defend at all even against weak wingers (partially his fault for winner and defo his fault when they hit the bar)

Ref had a shocker (suarez defo onside, why did bellamy get booked when it was that idiot)

Opinions welcome

I need to ask you guys something, hopefully someone can provide me with an answer. What does Carroll actually do? It's generally accepted amongst Liverpool supporters that he's not going to beat three or four players, he's not going to wriggle through a defence and he's not going to play that killer pass. But maybe he'll provide some support with a physical presence? Nope. How often tonight (and every other game this season) did he fall over? He seems to bounce off anyone with a bit of strength and that would worry me if I was a Liverpool fan (*shivers*). He's 6ft4, is regularly bullied by CB's, can't pass, isn't fast, struggles to score, struggles to read the game and cost £35m. Should he be offloaded in January, and y'know, replaced with someone who is talented?

Matthew...

You can see he's lacking confidence.
He also needs to learn are game more, he find himself in the space waiting for the diagnol ball but it's not coming because we play short to fett football.
Bench is all he should be at the moment.

KT!

If Liverpool are looking at Llorente then that means Kenny believes Carroll is not living up to his expectations and is considering replacing him. Problem is what would Carroll fetch if he was to be sold? £15m-£18m? Would Newcastle buy him back?

Disney!

Its quite clear the only reason Carroll was playing and not maxi was a height issue. Fulham are a big side and Carroll's height was an advantage for us when defending Fulhams set pieces. I personally dont agree with it but we did look safe from set plays. To be honest, it is about all Andy Carroll offers the team. We lack fluidity when he plays, because simply put his movement is shocking, and his touch abysmal.

As for Jay Spearing, harsh sending off, but he was very niave. He will huff and puff, rarely give the ball away, but is that what we are after in a defensive midfielder for Liverpool. His awarness of oppostion players is so so poor, his positional sense shocking, never seen us look as open in front off the back four. He has no discipline to hold, he's always off chasing shadows. Sure that may be good when playing along side another defensive midfielder but not when your the sole one. We are really going to miss Lucas as no other player in our squad has the discipline, and i dont mean in a fouling matter, to perfrom that holding role.

I know some will not agree, but if Jay Spearing wasnt a scouse lad would he really be at Liverpool, not a chance.

Not trying to be negative, their was some positives, just waiting on us to cut loose someday, and i pity the team we do it against because they are in for a real hammering some day

KMK YNWA

You will not give anyone "a hammering" because you are not good enough. You have average players, and have bought more average players!

Agree totally with this post i thought the middle of the park was poor for us today adam made loads mistakes giving the ball away and gready with the ball him and spearing were getting pulled everywhere giving dembelle lots of space to play. to many cross field balls slowing play down. enrique man of the match

dissapointed losing to a soft goal like that spearing was not the problem it was carroll who not only should not have started but stayed on far too long.we were playing with 10 men from start and then red card meant down to nine. reina should have done better but you dont win games by just making saves you also have to score.

kelly and johnson on the right for me,johnson attacks well kelly defends well
carroll for me should only play if we are winning comfortably.still long way to go but we definitely need a striker and midfielder in jan

missing you aqualani.

Lads played their hearts out, just not the result we needed. Some terrible calls by the ref.
Surely their has to be a new system of review introduced soon, look at the innovations in Rugby, Cricket and the NFL.
Bad decisions have to be assessed and reviewed, because too often 3 officials on the pitch do not get the calls right.
Rant over!
Food for thought.

The only real issue I have is that Senderos got away with 2 possible yellow cards after his original one & the ref bottled it. Adam was going to get a shot away & big Andy gets hauled down, yet the ref produces nothing. It should have been 10 against 10. There can be no doubt about that.

So here we go knee jerk time again, sell, sack, sell, sack, buy, sell..........look at the game in the light of day, dempsey, should have been off (head butting not permitted last time I looked) senderos? should have been off, if not for the foul on Adam, at least for the foul on carroll or even luis at the end. So there's 2 decisions that could and probably would have changed the game. Can't really argue with Jay's sending off, he should know by know you cannot follow through on tackles, stupid and rash!. overall I think the style of football we're currently playing is miles better than we have done for the past 2-3 years, Kenny knows what he wants and what we, the fans expect of our players/club. No one from the club has shouted what we are going to achieve this season, that has been us the fans, who lets be honest here, have set expectations higher than we possibly should. This is going to be a journey of highs and lows until such time we have a settled team/squad, which is going to take TIME, not days/weeks/ or a couple of months but maybe a year or two. Our club and supporters are known for understanding the game so for those of you who want a quick fix or immediate success, grow up, it's taken City nearly 2 years to get were they are and they have the funds to blow any team out of the water for players, sit back, enjoy the highs, hate the lows but most importantly stop the knee jerk reaction after every game! Yesterday i made a tackle basically the same as Spearing's today, did i get a booking? NO! not even a freekick.
What's my point you may ask, well it's that sunday league refs are better than that joke today.

This now just gives the Mancs WUM material, screw that who needs them when Redturk is around.

KT! {Ed001's Note - It is just a game, suck it up and move on I have.}

Sucking it up now Ed, i just don't get the refereing in the prem.
I think a league system should be made for refs, atleast they will think more about decisions.

KT!

It was the follow through he got sent off for and rightly so

Are you joking? it was never a sending off.
Ask any footballer to watch that tackle and they will tell you it was brilliant.

f*** it up! I knew when we hit the post we aint gonna win! What was the team selection? No wide man and we playing a statue who knows nothing expect heading the ball? C'mon! We certainly are gona miss lucas! Without him we looked so clumsy and open on midfield! Spearing? What he gonna replace lucas?never what did he did xpecting receiving a red card? He was playing as cm as adam and hendo were! It certainly aint good enough! M fed up now! Just look at our top4 rivals and us! Arsenal? Above us! Sorry to say but we looked poor! Why the f**k downing and maxi didn't start? Realy we will be ending up on 6th position! I thing we must move on with carol! He may have potential but but he isn't what we required! When downing didn't start we totally got no movement on left! Sorry to say but starting xi was mistake and bad refreeing was only the reason we could shift for our lost! I think a dm is most! I will fancy a loan move for a experienced dm! I think we realy are gona face tourble without lucas! C'mon man 12 point droped against mid table team and you fency us to be in top4? I for one certainly not! We need some class player at right and with saurez otherwise we gona struggle! Plz kenny admit that buying carrol was huge mistake and move on! He simply doesn't suit our way of playing!
Realy a frustuated red(*_*) {Ed001's Note - It is just a game, suck it up and move on I have.}

So what do we do?send pepe out on loan as its his fault we lost,

You should know better than to say spearing will never replace lucas after just one game to try and show it.
How many did lucas get before he won the crowd over?

We played well tonight and lost. true, did not have the midfield solidity that we are use to, but spearing played well. Too easy to blame it on him/lack of Lucas. tenacious and passed the ball well. Unfortunately, when you lose, it is easy to forget about the good stuff. hit the post twice, senderos should have been sent off (either for 2 yellow cars OR a very cynical fould on the edge of the box) and the red card was harsh (he got the ball first - i done think there was intent). You say move Carrol on?? People were saying the same thing about Lucas not so long ago.
anyway on to the next game. Unfortunately we dropped points against our rivals. s**t happens.
Come on Liverpool!

BEFORE they signed for premiership sides I predicted that Odemwinge and Dembele were players we should be looking at. I wonder if there is a vacancy in Liverpool's scouting network...?

Chris in Tamworth

2 real good players Chris, but could you imagine this site if we signed 2 "unknowns"?

KT!

More excitement than "Kenny, WTF!". As with any player you wait and see before you judge. No doubt people would have done there own scouting on them (Youtube) but I doubt they would be critisied. {Ed001's Note - why would we want Odemwingie? He is 29 and only plays well for long enough in a game to look good on MOTD.}

When I first touted Odemwinge as a potential target he was only 27 and surely you have to admit if we had either or both of them for the last two seasons we would have looked more dangerous in attack

Chris in Tamworth {Ed001's Note - I am not convinced he is good enough myself, I don't see he would be any better than Bellers for instance. It would really be him that would be replaced I would say.}

05 Dec 2011 22:22:51
I thought our performance was really good tonight. The whole team played well. But we had nothing off the ref tonight. Spearing won the ball and cant help his follow through. Adam was a pen and a sending off and suarez had a clear pen not given. Sometimes you just after hold your hands up when you are done by bad refereeing decisions.

I thought Henderdon was superb tonight.

05 Dec 2011 22:22:03
Unfortunate our GOOD goal was disallowed.

Nevertheless, when 2 out of the bottom 3 teams have scored more goals than us you can see where the problem is.

We need at least 10 chances to score 1 goal. Even Norwich have scored more than us. 17 league goals in 14 games is pretty awful.

It;s no good saying someone is going to get a pasting soon, we need to improve the strike rate, end of.

I think we were to slow up front suarez and carol can not play together suarez looks frustrated at times needs someone that can play short touches with like maxi or koyt, carol looks short of confident and fitness, we do play better when we are the underdogs for some unknown reason, we can talk about the Rif and bad luck but this game was there for us to win.

abbs

When you look at carroll he looks like he will burst out crying any minute,

Liverpool look more dangerous up front when carrol is not playing, i have nothing against carrol it just doesn't look good for him at the moment, he needs a map to find his way around the pitch just a jokeť Liverpool are better with out him on the field, let hope he gets better.

05 Dec 2011 22:19:23
I think we need to stop worrying about champions league if we get it great if we don't then so be it but on tonights game I can't for the life of me understand why with Carroll on we hardly put the ball in the box and then we take ac off downing comes on and we put plenty of crosses in but there is no one there to attack it its just so annoying to watch. Was how do you solve a problem like Carroll (seriously) ?

05 Dec 2011 22:19:30
I remember not long ago you would of got sent off for head butting players and for dempsy not to is nothing short of a disgrace anyway one poster on here today was on about dembele,he's a class player,I've been patient of carrol but I've lost faith in him now,the difference with him at Newcastle was that he's a local lad and that gave him the spark that made him usefull now he's just not effective in the team, about the game we lacked urgency in midfield were too slow getting the ball moved about,I'm tired of excuses were just not good enough but I will always support my team.

Pk

Was on the site earlier mentioning controlling Dembele. With Lucas, not a problem. With 11 men, we coped admirably. I must admit then when looking at potential targets for Liverpool I look at players that can control tempo. When you are a big club, the last thing the opposition wants is for you to control the pace of a game. Usually because this allows you time on the ball, but more importantly it allows you to chose which players get the time on the ball. For us, it's clear that the more time Kiyt, maxi, Bellamy get on the ball the better we are. For this reason Dembele would be a gpod signing. Note how many times he controlled the pace and let players buy space and then receive the ball.

Note, I didn't mention Suarez or Adam getting more time on the ball. Suarez is a reactive player, give him the ball anytime and he'll let the opposition make th decision about his next move. Adam, is a strange one, occasionally he'll rake the ball across with time, but more often than when presented with time he tends to hit balls to no-one. I don't think that he has much game intelligence, nice left foot though.

Anyway, players that control pace, Ever banega, Mousa Dembele, Xabi Alonso...

Lamenting Alonso. I think we should buy Ever Banega.

05 Dec 2011 22:18:30
Now, I'm no Liverpool fan, but if your manager is going to play the useless 35m plank that is Andy Carroll, he has to play Dowling and or Maxi to provide natural width. I know you think "King Kenny" is the answer, but he hasn't got a clue. Both of your "wide" players, Bellamy and Henderson, always looked to come in field. If you play Carroll you need width or play the ball up high and early. You probably should play Chelsea every week, where you are much more compact!

Shocking that this post had more agrees than disagrees, are Liverpool fans really so fickle these days? :/

Hi eds,
based on the not so good results so far in the league, do you think we'll bring more than to players in january? {Ed002's Note - No.}

05 Dec 2011 22:15:48
Clearly was no sending off (I know how Everton fans feel now).
Liverpool should appeal so spearing does not get 3 match ban.
That said, I've never rated spearing anyway. However, I thought the team did play well, passing is excellent, Carroll had the best game I've seen him play for us (but he's still not brilliant),
Henderson was in the game from start to finish and unlucky not to score, very different player now than
at start of the season. Adam is getting better better and better.
Downing looked like he can score goals even if he has not yet.
Someone somewhere has voodoo dolls of all the Liverpool players hanging on goal post, that can be the only scientific explanation for us hitting wood work so many times. The only thing missing from Liverpool is the final 3rd of play, the final pass, a prolific goal poacher and a bit of bloody luck.

Spearings heading was poor, Lucas always finds a team mate Spearing kept giving possession away when heading, apart from that he was very good.

Haha you hit the nail on the head mate i swear iv seen sir alex playing with a few dolls hell have been sat in his chair picking up his ref dolls and showing reds galore he must of lost his agger one mind because i cant remember seeing him play so many games in a row!! iv forgot how many times we have hit the post this year but imagine if all of them had been a few inches to the side we would be flying high never mind eh im just happy we losing with class instead of the sugar we been playing the last few seasons hooofing it forward and letting moanalot and stevie try and finish i wouldnt say im happy but hopefully i can ave tht smile on me face if chelsea city n utd go europa styleeee

Robbed again by disgraceful refereeing. The team played well but alas. The suarez goal should have stood, adam should have had a pen and downing and hendo were very, very unlucky. Spearing had an ok game i think. Shouldnt have been sent off clearly. As for carrol, sheesh. He has my support but in all honesty right now he looks as good a striker as konchesky is a left back. Poor. Hendo was very classy though. Motm in my opinion. Overall well played, but yet again we had a league 2 ref at best crapping all over us. Fulham's motm by a country mile. Pissed. And i see the champ1-6ns are crawling out of their holes again...
Capetownred

Robbed again by disgraceful refereeing = Jack Rodwell..Liverpool whingers!

How you can say it was a penaty baffles me it was clearly outside the area and senderos was not the last man you deserved a draw at most get over it {Ed001's Note - are you talking about the same decision? Only the one on Adam was a penalty all day long.}

05 Dec 2011 22:15:18
I thought we did well.Where unlucky. Two points i must make, why change a winning formation and personnel(bar lucas obviously),that was working?!To accomodate one player, whoever he is.If it aint broke, etc.Having said that, that was never a sending off in my view.momentum carried Spearing through. He won the ball, wasnt two footed.Trail leg followed-accidental.Yellow at worst for tad wreckless. But age old t ating teams and not taking deserved spoils is not all luck.Clinical finisher is a must! And we do seem to overplay, attractive as it is.F kin hit it at times! However we deserved to win,Fulham looked embarrassed at end.Changing the formation gave them bit too much room. But again-must get out and out goals, scorer.Unlucky lads-GET YOUR HEADS UP!Mr.whinge

05 Dec 2011 22:12:19
just unlucky. i thought we played well. 23 pts now, need to win 4 of next 5, then we have 35 pts in first half of season with gerard coming back. carroll when he scores next will get 7 in five games, just having a horrible run of luck as is downing with woodwork. need a few wins in pl to keep in touch, make sure a gap doesnt develope. remember 12 months ago!! we are going in right direction.

12 months ago we were not much different in league position or points. What we had a year ago was hope that all would change dramatically once we hired some new guns. Now we have those new guns, but all are misfiring. I am still happier than a year ago, but lets not avoid the obvious issue of disappointment with how this season is going. What can we do to change things in second half of season? Bring Gerrard back? He may not play again this season, and if he does, it will take 5 - 6 games before he gets his legs back. The boy isn't 22 anymore. I doubt the owners will toss more than 10 million for January signings, and surely we can't unload Carroll....who would pay more than 5 million for him at this point?

05 dec 2011 22:10:45
'carrol for the future, carroll for the future!' i've had enough of it. he's a joke of a player. save him for the future if he's for the 'future' to you guys. he doesn't deserve a place in the team. seriously, stop kidding yourself. just to get a few applauds from the 'loyal'' liverpool fans, you can't just cover up his weaknesses on the pitch. no player is bigger than the club and if my club's being affected by having him on the pitch, i will not tolerate it. every time that tool's on the pitch we roam around like headless chickens. we bloody lost 3 points again today!
p.s don't give me that referee s***.
furqan.

Mate have you been watching torres, would you have ever thought he used to world class? No, didn't think so, so shut your moaning
Vik

I also watched Dembele and he's twice the player Andy ever will be. Seriously man, Do you honestly like him? I'd be laughing everytime I'd watch him play if he were a United player. I bet they are doing the same not to mention the price tag too. He simply doesn't have that quality man. I don't hate him. Infact, I feel for the poor guy. He was forced to move out of Newcastle. He just won't adapt to our game. It's not his style of play. It's like telling Ronaldo to fit in Stoke's team. Get my point? Not hi fault but seriously we're making him look like a joke on the pitch.
Furqan.

I believe theres more to come from him, but ill keep supporting him till he's not needed anymore. Do people not learn from lucas experience, everyone wanted him gone too. I remember during the summer so many wanted andy carroll well u got ur wish, aint that right ed. I didnt even want him yet im giving time why cant you do the same

Its disgusting when us liverpool fans just torres as an example to defend carrol. Carrol is CRAP, why doesnt kk get it? Torres is just at the wrong club for him, plus he has already had a couple of surgeries n was one of the best strikers in the world. Carrol is just a big money flop, nothin more.

Why don't we give Dempsey or Dembele a look? Both looked far more technical than any of our attackers tonight. Carroll came close a few times, but then again, he also had a wide open shot that missed by 30 yards.

Yh I've always rated Dembele I think a top side should give him a chance.

Red Turk you don't deserve to call yourself a Liverpool fan ... You are a disgrace if you don't support the team when we lose or draw then don't bother supporting us when we win ! As we speak I have never been prouder to be a Liverpool fan the football being played is so good to watch and the results will follow. No matter what all you fair weather fans say about sacking Dalglish selling Carrol and starting Maxi doesn't matter. None of you no better then Kenny so just f*ck up !

"Bah, Bah, Bah" - don't be a sheep. KK may be a great manager but no manager gets it right 100% of the time. Him and SC did what they tought was best but it didn't work out today. Let people have their opinions, support KK but don't encourage blind faith. Right now Carroll isnt working... pretty much a fact, Maxi finds form and is benched. Maxi plays football and unlocks defences, Carroll smashes through them but tonight there more chance of Lucas scoring than Carroll. Perhaps Kuyt could have even started and made a difference but we wil never know.

Kenny is not perfect, no one is so ofcourse kenny has made big mistakes and its costing us big time.RedTurk

Carrol n downing were two BIG BIG mistakes.

First things first am not a player basher I support all of our players but seriously the amount of times the defence and midfield are just hoofing it up to Carroll is a joke it's really starting to bug me.

Another thing is Downing and Suarez and any other of the arrogant idiots who think they are set piece specialist's they NEED to leave free kicks and corners for Adam it's becoming a joke.

Tom. {Ed001's Note - I am sick to death of watching the others push Adam out of the way and taking them. Charlie really needs to stand up and tell them all to get out of his way!}

Tell me about it mate , the worst thing is is when Downing comes on as a sub and just thinks he's god and can take anything I feel like giving the sod a good slapping.

Opposing goal keepers must be happy to play against us since they always seem to have the game of their lives. Simply put, we never looked like a winning team the entire game today, and when Jay went out (unlucky, but had his studs out), Fulham essentially schooled us and could have scored 3.

Positives: Reina looked sharp for most of the game, and actually saved several goals. Adam looking better every game. We hit the woodwork a bunch of more times. Maybe Coady or Shelvey will get a shot now?

Negatives: No matter how much you love Kenny, simple common sense would put Maxi in starting lineup for this one. Carroll is a project that should be put off until there is no pressure whatsoever. We didn't need Jay in this game. We should have had an attacking team (Henderson/Adam in middle).

Top 4 was always going to be a stretch, but it will really require other teams taking a nose dive now (Arsenal and Chelsea both falling apart is unlikely, and Tottenham look like title challengers).

Merry Christmas you mighty Reds! 2012 will be yours!! (ofcourse, I have been saying that for 22 years.......).

Nick the red. {Ed001's Note - how can you say we never looked like winning when we had a perfectly good goal disallowed, which would have put us in a winning position?}

05 Dec 2011 22:09:28
its the same old story for us this season. Play well against big teams but don't turn up against the lesser team. Its been the same thing every time. Create enough opportunites to win fairly comfortably but are not clinical enough infront of goal. I think we miss a leader outfield. Lucas usually replicates as one however out injured. We know Carra's one but doesn't play as much. We miss Gerrard more then ever right now.

Red P

Tbh if you call turning up to a game is being able to finish than the only games we have actually turned up to is the Chelsea matches because pretty every single game except from Tottenham we have bossed but failed to finished our chances.

05 Dec 2011 22:09:25
Spearing didnt need to dive in, yes he got the ball but he couldve stayed on his feet and won the ball very immature tackle, in saying that dempsey should have seen red for a headbutt! But we badly need a striker in january our goalscoring this season has been poor. Very dissapointing night.

Spearing doesn't need to play Liverpool he will never be good player get rid

Andy Carroll = a donkey, most urgency wen he is being subbed, probably straight off to the bar for a pint! Emile Heskey is available in january we wiuld have more hope with him up top! Long ball to Carroll suited there center backs down to the ground! Maxi should of started n bellers n luis up top! Come on boys pick it up for the next game.

the manager is to blame rubbish tactics even before the red why was maxi on the bench Dembele is way better then carroll

I am a Diehard Liverpool Supporter. The team will not finish top 4 this year. Prove me wrong. No matter what I will still be a Fan! Come on Boys, quit dropping to bad teams! We outplay Man U, City, Arsenal, & Chelsea, But Fulham, Swans, Norwich, and Stoke look better than us?

YNWA Joe the Yank.

When did norwich and stoke ever look better than us? we battered them both, stoke had one shot.
i still think the only match you can't argue we should've won was against tottenham, we ought to be so high up the table right now.
That said, i've been saying for ages if we keep playing how we have been we'll be fine, we've just been unlucky, but its getting ridiculous now.
goal was onside, shouldn't've been a red, and how many times have we hit the post?
Also, did anyone else notice the penalty/free kick decision, if the ref had played advantage we had an open goal.
instead he gives a free kick on the line.

Yes and bellamy had a shot from it and the keeper saved it

Ref killed us tonight, no way a red card! But thought Andy Carroll put in a decent shift and held the ball up well. Still think we are lacking something!

05 Dec 2011 22:06:55
The ref was pants but we should have been two or three up by the time Spearing went. I'm sorry but Carroll just can't do it. Kuyt won three times the balls, laid it off to our players and generally was there to receive the ball. Caroll did none if that and spent most of the time falling over. The only time he helped us win the ball was because Senderos fell over him while he was crawling about on the floor. I'm always a sucker for a player who is trying hard to find his feet in the team but we cannot go on pandering to a centre forward who can't do the job. Makes Emile Heskey look like Riger Hunt. That said Yankee thug Dempsey shouldn't have been in the pitch after butting Bellers. A disappointing evening which was a shame because it was an exciting game.
ND

We were punished for playin Carroll over Maxi. I fail to see how he could impress anyone in training. I remember some staff or player said he was a poor trainer. On the other hand Henderson trains hard and has even said he stays after training to work on his finishing. Despite not scoring anymore goals though, his industry shows in his recent performances

Absolutely. Hendo's best game yet. There were good things to take from the game - imagine those strikes on the posts had gone in, but when we play Caroll it all goes tits-up because we keep playing it into him and then all just never sticks. Even Baros managed to control it occasionally. Oh for a Fowler, Aldridge or Rush to play alongside Saurez, Bellers, Maxi, Kuyt, Hendo! I'm gutted because I thought Carroll might have been ace.

05 Dec 2011 22:06:41
nothing to say..except hard luck...i think we played well and i feel we would have won but for that decision by the ref...and well it was the dying minutes of the game when Fullham scored..they were always going to defend that.
Just one thing...we were not so sharp as we were when we played chelsea or man city. Why?

05 Dec 2011 22:05:11
Bellamys yellow card said it all about the ref tonite bet the ref doesn't know why he booked him.

And what about penalty by Senderos on Adam. That was inside the box. Unbelievable. That said...it's our position in the table that counts...and that's not good.

And if it wasn't a pen, play the advantage, we had an open goal!

05 Dec 2011 22:03:59
some of you fans 'can't see a priest on a mountain of sugar'. like i said poor game, spearing cant replace lucas because he is average, how many times did dempsey and dembele find themselves free in the middle? andy carroll im fed up of talking about him, not worth £ 5million let alone 35 mil, waste of money, i agree with RedIndian he should be playing at stoke not liverpool.RedTurk

RedBurk - do you really get off on Liverpool losing? You're worse than the Manc's who post on here as soon as we have a bad result.

JRG

In all honestly carroll played well

Yes but the point is, that is the team we have right now. So support them, give them your SUPPORT. Don't just bitch about all the players. No one is saying Jay spearing is as good as Lucas but he is the next best thing we have.
Like it or lump it but don't whinge all the time, it's annoying.

davethebutcher

Go support Real Madrid mate or Man City you suit them, Oh and if you wanna keep whinging do it away from this site no one wants to hear your bull

Vik

Sorry we could put out a better team, how many times did they attack us on the left?? johnson was poor today, stick kelly on he can defend, spearing was average change him for henderson put kuyt on the right, carroll didnt do anything except fall over everywhere, put bellamy upfront with suarez and put maxi on, that is what was required and that is our best team which could of beat fulham but kenny was too slow to change anything.RedTurk

Let carrol go for free. No point askin any club for a fee for him, coz no one's gonna pay. Th earlier he leaves, the better.

05 Dec 2011 22:03:20
Have to say that the performance first half was ok but second was poor, spearing red contributed to this. My mine gripe is team selection I have to say KK got it wrong tonight. Fulham so slow at back we should of had downing and maxi in side.
Reina
Johnson,Agger,Skrtel,Enrique
Bellamy,Adam,Henderson,Maxi,Downing,
Suarez

Gutted these are the game we need to be winning and as much as i have been behind Carroll, the guy just isnt the type of player we need for our style of pass and move, Suarez looks twice the player when linking up with players like maxi, bellamy, kuyt and downing.

Oh and we seriously missed Lucas tonight, spearing did ok but it just felt like a big gap in there.

Lets put it right Saturday boys.

05 Dec 2011 22:03:03
Unlucky once again tonight. I thought Adam was excellent, Carroll did nothing wrong, hit the post twice, Enrique very good. Dodgy ref and all that dobro be expected.
It's nice to see all these "fans" come out and slate the team with the same old comments. How do you eds stay calm? Are there more posters when we lose than win?
I'm starting to dislike this site when we lose, but don't want to just view it when we win. Too much negativity when I need cheering up.
Please could Ed001, rinse some person tonight for my pleasure?
Ultra red

Unlucky all the time, how long can we seriously keep saying were unlucky? RedTurk

Robbed mate. We were robbed today. 4 massive decisions and not a single on was given right. FA must take a look at referees' standards.

Red Turk you are a fool. Unlucky means we didn't get the luck. I'll explain for you:-
We hit the post twice
Adams penalty
Suarez not offside
Jays joke red card.
What do you not understand about luck and football?
Go support Barca you baffoon.

05 Dec 2011 22:02:35
im not going to start like other fans, but i must say even without the red card we were weak in central mid. thought adam had very good game but hendo and spearing just not aggressive enough. I've had go at redturk for slating Carroll but have to say we not playing to his strengths. if we're going to play quick passing football then he's not quite upto speed.
However every team has a blip. we could and should have won, but hey sh*t happens. before doom mongers start assess whole match. we we're n't shocking. Its just 1 game

taffytel

C'mon mate. You need to watch the highlights again. There were 4 massive wrong decisions. penalty to free kick, Dempsey's yellow, should have been red, Suarez's goal and Spearo's red. Isn't this a disgrace to be calling him a referee.

Don't even get me started on ref. 1 word-shocking.... that aside main gripe is we have nt got commanding CM. Adam excellent again, but hard for him to be playmaker and ball winner all game.. we had 3 in middle but you'd never tell. as for carroll we need width and good crossing when he's in team. quick passing will never suit him.

taffytel

You have to admit peeps that our style of play was different tonight than it was against Chelsea (X2) and City. It was very ineffectual!

Ironically I thought we were good for the most part.

It begs the question: Is Carroll suited to our style of football?

Only time will tell I suppose.

Bad decision by Kevin "Enemy".

Chin up. Only the past two-weeks we were making huge strides. Hero to Villain in 0.27 seconds.

Henderson was brilliant through-out, never stopped running.

An Obviously Dissappointed - Chipkin9 (Eire)

The fa expect managers to respect referees, but liverpool were never going to win against a referee who not only made some diabolical decisions but also seemed highly favourable of fulham. he shouldnt ref another prem game, he should be demoted to championship reffing. its times like this that the fa should view the matches where refs make these wrong decisions and punish them. let managers speak up and say exactly what they want when refs are not only biased (blinkered) in decision making but also inclined to become imbeciles on the pitch.

05 Dec 2011 22:02:08
Why do we constantly play well against the top 6 and then balls it up against the lesser teams in the league?

Reality check until we stop this rot we ain't ever going to finish in the top 6 never mind the top 4. Am sorry fellow reds buts this has been happening for the last 5yrs not just in KK reign.

17 goals in 14 games says it all, forget hitting the post and crossbar more than anyone else, you don't win trophys for hitting the sticks...

Roll on January 1st 2 x strikers required who know where the net is and who will help out Suarez. Carroll is worse than torben Piknic...

Curled1

Do not insult Torben Piknic

05 Dec 2011 22:02:01
A good performance messed buy kenny by picking carrol.and 2 idiots spearing with awful tackele yes he won the ball but in replays it showed he went over the top and could have broken player leg.
And carrol who is not good enough to play in first team.
If rafa would have chosen an out of form carrol ahead of maxi I would have loved to read the headlines but since its kenny.

Who so ever agreed to pay 35M for this lad should be let go.

Good show guys with 9 men(spearing and andy were already missing).spearing will learn but I am not sure of andy.

Red indian.

If its not good enough go watch someone else, we have what we have accept or f**k off.

05 Dec 2011 22:01:59
I said last week , are forward play when it is o-o we need to do the easy pass not the glory goal last weekend downing when a player in better position this week Bellemy clean through and Adam trys to go it alone yes when we are 2-0 up and Pepe shocking a baby could have held that most over rated keep in premier league and Maxi really should have started having said that we should have won , dont blame the reff we missed to many chances

Pepe made a number of quality saves in that game and is not even close to over-rated

How can you blame it on pepe, who was our best player if it wasn't for him we would of been well and truly thrashed and kenny's tactics would of been shown up today.RedTurk

05 Dec 2011 22:01:08
im am pi**ed at the result but even more at the ref, suarez goal clearly on side but not given, then spearing gets a red for a clear tackle (i admit it was strong).
sooo unlocky as well, hitting the post twice, some great saves. i am really frustrated with these types of games. need someone that nows how to finish when the chance is there. and KD should have given maxi a chance, has been great recently

(banter)
Stupid of Spearing. We were well in control until he got sent off. Lack of maturity and common sense. 'Commitment' alone isn't enough to fill Lucas' boots. Spearing hasn't got what's required upstairs or downstairs.

Chally

Nonsense.

It was a perfectly fine tackle.
You cant ever help yourself if the officials are fools.

LiverBird

If anyone blames spearing for that defeat they need to look at themselves. That tackle was argueably one of the best I've seen. Shocking decision.

davethebutcher

Chally, did you actually watch the tackle. Or one of ur Man U frnz have told you about it.

One of the best you've seen?! Crikey.Yes the ref was giving us nothing but that's exactly why you don't follow thru in tackles like that cos it's obvious the sort of decision the ref will make. I've had a look at myself as u suggested and I've had a look at the tackle again and i still feel the same way. I suggest u take another look too.

I'm not one for slating our boys, but with all the talk of who will replace Lucas I'm just calling it as I see it.

Chally

{Ed001's Note - It is just a game, suck it up and move on I have.}

Hi anonymous poster.

Yes I watched the tackle live thanks. Don't mention me in the same breath as man utd. I'm as loyal as they come but I do call things as I see them. Don't bitch that I'm a Manc just cos I don't share ur opinion.

Chally

Agreed. Sucked up and moved on. Cheers ed.

Oh dear..

Matthew...

05 Dec 2011 21:56:38
we werent brilliant but that sending off was disgusting. Absolutely atrocious refereeing. He should lose his pay and be demoted to lower league football as he is useless at mediating a PL match

cozinoz

Outraged, we have so many chances and we dominate and we never score. Need a new mid who can score i.e. Adam Johnson? etc and a striker because we need to finish chances i.e. podolski etc

Manno

I'm not interetsed in the sending off..
the boys played well tonight..BUT there
were two main problems (and search the records I do NOT come on here day after day calling players) 1- Andy ran his socks off but was/is never a threat - in the air or on the ground 2- pepe - yes he spilled the ball for the goal - that happens -but on at least two other occasions he parried a ball which
fortunately went to a liverpool player
- it was a mistake waiting to happen

Puzzled

Totally agree shocking referee looks like Darren Ferguson too enough said. red kenny

I know the refereeing was awful, I know we could have won it with a bit of luck and I'm resisting the temptation to moan about any player but seriously if you think we were brilliant then that worries me

Chris in Tamworth {Ed002's Note - The thing is Chris it is just a game. Win some, lose some - suck it up. I have always said that Liverpool will be in the mix at the end of the season. This swing from elation to despair every other week is, whilst fun to watch, not good for your blood pressure and you kno what the doctor said to you about that. Be positive, Liverpool are five points clear of Stoke.}

Suarez put it in the back of the net but he was 'offside'
NZL_Red

Thanks for the concern Ed002 I'm chilled now, I just get wound up by people who go too far in either their criticism or their praise. A level head and a realistic evaluation of players and performances seems a rare thing these days

Chris in Tamworth

I agree with Ed.........

In some of the spells we were simply mesmerising today.......I just loved it......If you dont love this, you dont love football.......

The only thing difficult to digest is the performance of the referee..... I have never been a fan of referee bashing but this was simply the worst performance in the past 3-4 season......

I am not saying about a single decision but a host of decisions....

Bellamy Yellow
Dempsey should have been red carded
Penalty call
Spearing Red
Several tackles by Dembele.....
a foul against Bellamy outside the box
and many more

I would be very surprised if he gets a game next week

LiverBird

05 Dec 2011 21:56:31
The game tonight was an absolute disgrace. Spearing should NEVER have been sent off. If that was a sending off, then they should make football a non-contact sport! Yet AGAIN we are so f*cking unlucky by hitting the upright TWICE! (I make that 13 times for the season). We put the effort in and the game was robbed from us by no fault of our own. One word for it. Disgrace. Rant over.

(C)

Dont forget the headbutt by Dempsey.

Last heard it used to be a red card but these days you get those for perfectly good tackles.

LiverBird

05 Dec 2011 21:54:34
Spearing useless
The best thing that could of happened to him at least he will be missing for 3games

Spearing shouldn't have been sebt off. Diabolical decision by ref. Having said that we should have killed the game earlier. Team effort is excellent but quality isn't there yet. More investment is need to bring Liverpool to top four standrad. We're not there yet I'm afraid.

Listen hear spearing lovers the boy is crap is it because he is a scouser and a midget get rid

Suarez's goal was onside, headbut by Dempsey was only given a yellow, Bellamy getting booked for no apparent reason, Spearing wrongly sent off, No penalty from Adam foul. Cheers Ref. SM

Very good post. I think a style of play is now being developed, I won't write our chances off yet but the standard of the top teams are very high, could be another 2 seasons for us. The teams above us are beating the the teams below, where as we struggle. Well done to our fans.

05 Dec 2011 21:52:15
shocking

What else must Maxi do to get a start. Daglish is just unfair to the guy. He wants to get rid of all the technical midfielders and replace them with player that can't open up the opponents. Daglish will not get us anywhere. At best 5th.

Daglish won't, but give Dalglish a chance and he might!

Why am i suprised every time we dont win these games, spineless simple as that. Not top 4 im afraid to say. Spurs, Arsenal, Utd and City are different league when it comes to getting results. Have to say im fed up now!

N87

Then stop watching.

The players were very good today.

LiverBird

If our players losing 1 nil to fulham is a good performance to you LiverBird then im afraid u have much lower expectations than most Liverpool fans. U prob agreed with Woy when he stated he cudnt understand how Liverpool and Fulham players where diff types of players. Fact is the performance and more importantly the result wasnt up to the standard of a top 4 side.

There is no doubt that the players gave their all and were fantastic yesterday....

You were probably watching something else...

As far as Top 4 is concerned, you dont become top 4 overnight.........You grow into a group players capable of delivering the top 4 position....

If you cant see the progress on a week to week basis, you should stop watching.......

Why no Maxi? Hatrick last game against Fulham. Carrol should be offloaded. We have given him enough time. Fulham deserved it.

Bye bye champions league bye bye Saurez bye bye dalglish - thanks to a dodgy referee. Gazman

Rodwell. That is all.

Opening day Sunderland?

Sorry disagree. Same old story can not break down the poorer prem teams.

05 Dec 2011 21:49:18
sorry i cant say it has been all the ref, say the truth we were flat and poor for most of the game while carroll was upfront and spearing was average and kenny make changes when we need them, should of took johnson off earlier aswel as the other 2.RedTurk {Ed001's Note - so the decision to give a free kick when it was clearly a penalty had no bearing then? Or the decision to not send someone off for what could easily have been deemed a headbutt also has no bearing? If he had made the decisions earlier it would have been a problem when the sending off happened wouldn't it?}

Sorry free kick was a free kick, if ur talking about charlie adam and he should of passed the ball earlier,watch it again. wether you like it or not we were poor and kenny didn't make the changes when they were needed, should of took carroll off 2nd half it wasn't working, sorry we will find it hard to finish 4th with this team. We should of played the guy who continously scores goals for us maxi, carroll spoiled our whole game and i think its clear to see spearing is not good enough for liverpool.RedTurk {Ed001's Note - how was it a free kick? It was a pen, the line is part of the box, try reading the laws of the game, they are quite clear on that point. But then that wouldn't give you anything to whinge at our players about would it?}

We can't control the ref, he didnt put the ball in the back of our net, we should have scored - we didnt, why didnt we score? Probably because Maxi wasn't on and Carroll was, which took us back to the static front line instead of an unpredictable interchanging front line which we all know serves us best.

Red you are right dont mind the Ed with his lame excuses. It was a free most fouls outside the box are and he followed through deliberately and caught the lad get over it !!

Devil Dust. {Ed001's Note - it was not outside the box, another no mark with no idea of the laws of the game.}

Ed seriously now the original foul started outside the box did it not ??

Devil Dust. {Ed001's Note - not from what I saw and look where the ref gave the decision.}

Were you really watching the match or following it on a radio commented by a friend of the refree?

Coz if you were really watching you would have posted something else instead....

LiverBird

Yeah I know where the ref was thats why I was sure he was going to give a pen.
Chill out Ed take a look later and see what ya think no biased here but to me it was 100% a free kick.
Sending off right another ref would prob have just given yellow but hey thats whats wrong with the refereeing in EPL

Devil Dust.

05 Dec 2011 21:45:50
Referee 1 - Liverpool 0 - absolute disgrace - Liverpool have got nothing this season. No luck no decisions

Ed, this must be somekind of record which we have set.

I dont remember any time hitting the posts so often.....

05 Dec 2011 21:44:42
I'm just gutted. Why always us. C'mon man. this is not fair. I'd certainly like to hear from the refree the reasons for straight red, there. And now, we've lost the game. Gutted.

05 Dec 2011 21:44:39
now everyone what do we have to say, now we are losiing 1-0, poor team selection and kenny left it too late too make subs.RedTurk {Ed001's Note - do you just sit and wait for an excuse to whine?}

I think the turk has a valid point

Seriously RedTurk, you must be a Manc. Are you just looking to ignite a reaction from Liverpool fans or what? Or are you just a cynical, negative fan? Give it a rest and support for team for a change!

Alex

RedTurd - are you seriously suggesting this is Kenny's fault? Are you blind? Have you not seen the terrible refereeing decisions.

Liverpool have been good tonight mate, i mean they have completely bossed the game, just unlucky in front of goal and to have a incompetent waste of space reffing the game.

The ref is a nob. Suarez was onside and spearing was a good challenge.

Is this referee from Fulham. It really does seem so. Red card. Absolute injustice. just look at the ball direction. First wrongly called offside. I'm sure one of Fulham player was playing Suarez on and now this. What rubbish.

05 Dec 2011 21:33:09
Spearing unfairly sent off. HE GOT THE BALL, MY ''FRIEND''

KEITH YNWA

He might of won the ball but it was reckless

Yes it was reckless with two legs flying in after, and he was average for most of the game.RedTurk

Maybe the Fulham should of f**cked off as Spearing went for a ball that was fully his, yeah they have a right to challenge but a free kick can't be given if he has won the ball and collided afterwards due to another player going for the ball

You are either one of those Internet football fans or not a Liverpool fan.....

Don't worry you still have 11 players on the pitch, Danny Murphy hasn't let you down yet in this game.

Disney!

Yes but they have the ref too.

JRG

It is a shame for the lad, but in the laws of the game it was a straight red.

Disney!

C'mon Sidney that was not a reckless challenge! He won the ball cleanly. Look at the referee after the fould he is happy for play to continue until he sees the Fulham player clutching his ankle and then gives the free kick and the red card.

The refereeing this season has been a joke.

JRG

It wasn't a reckless challenge, but it was stupid and clumsy. Two feet left the floor and studs were up, there was even a connection with the Fulham player. It was a definite red, but only going by the laws of the game. Ten years ago that was a decent challenge.

Disney!

Oh and I agree the refereeing is shocking this season, but I think the ref got the red card decision right.

Disney!

05 Dec 2011 21:33:13
This referee is very poor. Absolute amateur. A red card for winning the ball?
It's no wonder they get grief all the time.

05 Dec 2011 21:33:03

This ref has been a disgrace, should have been a penalty, Suarez goal was on-side and Spearing won the ball. The refereeing this season has been shocking!

JRG

It's a shame. No matter what position we end up at the end of the season it will most likely be remembered for the disgraceful refereeing throughout the campaign.

Cuchulainn's Hounds

It's not just us - the refereeing throughout the season has been disgraceful for all the teams, look at Rodwell red against us, Luiz at the weekend for Chelsea, United penalty last weekend, Cahill red for Bolton etc etc.

Actually, true mate, point taken. Think I'm just too focused on us at the minute.

05 Dec 2011 21:10:01
Dont think we have quite got to grips with 4-3-3 in first half.Think adam, spearing, henderson have got in each others way at times. Also sat off them to much at times too many efforts on goal from distance.Would rather we went 4-4-2 maybe bring maxi on for jay or hendo.but what do i know hopefully they will prove me wrong in second half.

05 Dec 2011 21:02:51
hi ed, i think darren ambrose from crystal palace will be a great addition to our squad dont you think? sort out our right wing problems as well as being british and youngish {Ed001's Note - he is not youngish nor is he any good. If we are settling for dross like that we will be fighting relegation.}

05 Dec 2011 20:58:30
I hate to say it, but the Carroll haters have it right. That boy cannot do anything right. I realize he has 'potential' but watching him 'grow' is absolutely painful.

When carrol plays we do not

On the contrary I think he has a bit of a man crush on him.

Davethebutcher

Do we ever play good with him in the team?RedTurk {Ed001's Note - do you ever actually support the team or are you far too busy picking on someone to whine at?}

No one likes RedTurk. Most negative and whiney posts on here and there's a new one every ten seconds

Carroll and Hendo are playing the great....I wonder who's goingto be the next escape goat -McMenemy

Playing great ?? get real Carroll has been pants

05 Dec 2011 20:52:50
I thought we played really well in the first half. I think spearing, adam and henderson working really well in midfield. We just need to zip the ball about a bit quicker up front. Unlucky by henderson hitting the post. Carroll and henderson both playing really well.

We need a big second half.

Mighty reds

05 Dec 2011 20:52:03
Liverpool = hard to beat :-)

05 Dec 2011 20:51:33
How's it boring you idiot.are you watching the same game as me
Tommo

Redturk must have a very small TV.

Why is it 5-0 to liverpool?

05 Dec 2011 20:50:50
its there for the taking. give carroll 15 more mins then bring on mighty maxi to set up luis

05 Dec 2011 20:50:23
team does not look threat with Carrol on the pitch. Half time I would bring Maxi on for Carrol.

05 Dec 2011 20:49:54
Fulham have been better in the first half. Hope, we're going to see a much better performance in the 2nd half. C'mon lads. get 3 points today. YNWA

what a booring crap game, take carroll off and lets play football again please.RedTurk

Seriously you need to support barcelona , the game is okay , let me guess you expect 5 goals again .Maybe if they win by 5 goals they know you have nothing to complain about

What a boring crap post. Take RedTurk off and lets be positive and constructive please

I don't agree very often with Redturk but please lets have Kuyt on to play up front. He can hold the ball at least and finish. Playing well but no killer finish so far.
ND

What a booring crap post! TheRedEye

RedBurk - why do you 'support'? All you ever do is moan and criticise the players. Why don'y you support United, they love criticising our players.

JRG

Even though he's playing quite decently and is lacking service, please RedTurk support our team for a change.

What a boring, crap post. Take RedTurk off and bring Sir Bob the Red on.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Post above about Kuyt made me laugh ;-) I think Maxi for Bellamy and then Downing for Carroll should do. Spearing needs to mark Dembele closer, giving him to much space.

Carroll is gonna score

05 Dec 2011 20:39:06

Carroll look tieard now. its bad Luck for Suarez that he didnt get a very much active scoring partner.

Ed001 I have a question regarding Robinson, I think he's gonna be an excellent player and was thinking what will happen with Enrique when Robinson is at the age to be playing regular first team football? Because Enrique is also very good and still fairly young will Jose be sold do you think?

Square tomato {Ed001's Note - good question, though I would think it will depend on injuries and form meaning Robinson gets in and keeps his place for a long run of games.}

Ye good point ed just don't want to lose Robinson in the future due to lack of playing time

Hi eds...

Is money available for the january transfers..?

Nz. {Ed002's Note - Man you have t keep up with the posts and discussion. There will not be major changes in January, but perhaps some minor additions or tweaking only. The club is not going to spend large amounts of money but I am sure some will be made available.}

Yea ed i knew there arent going to be any major signings but i just wanted to know the financial condition...like if suddenly messi becomes available for 15mill then can we shell out that money...:-)

Nz {Ed002's Note - Not £15M, but perhaps up to £8M.}

05 Dec 2011 19:28:52
hey lfc fans

with the guys on the teamsheet................are we playing a 433 today

or is it 44 2?

I expect we're playing Reina, 4 defenders and then 6 other players, as formation will change during a game! I do like the look of the 4-3-3 though!

Keith {Ed002's Note - Keith you have really nailed this. Pretty much every team now play 4 and then a variable formation depending on who has the ball etc.. All this discussion about formations is nonsense really. It would be fun to see different colored boxes marked on the pitches showing just where the players can go.}

It looks like 442 m8

Cheers Ed002!

Thats what I call depth.

05 Dec 2011 19:01:55
Am I the only one that thinks we dont really need to make any major signings in january?

I'm happy enough with the quality and depth of our squad for the rest of the season. Every position is covered adequately and aptly, I just feel any big signings would be surplus to requirements, or push already decent players out of the picture and make the lose motivation.

None of the names floating about here really appeal to me, I'm happier with that players currently in the squad and fighting for a place.

We don't need a striker or any defenders, we dont need cover for Lucas, and the only thing I can see coming in is a right winger, an actual winger. Kuyt and Henderson are having to make do there, but that isn't their prime position - having said that, Bellamy and Maxi can play there well, so is there really a need?

Who will the numpties turn on when Carroll comes good. No doubt these are the same people who slagged off Lucas for months but who are now telling their mates that they always new what a great player he would turn out to be. Get behind the team and don't try to fool people that you know something about foorball by sniping at individual players. YNWA

Redpath

Can u say lucas is a great player mate?? i would say he is a good player now but not great, ive spoken to many fans who go and watch liverpool in most games and say he isnt that great, yes he has improved but i wouldn't say great just yet.RedTurk

He has massive potential but , is already one of the best holding midfielders in the European game .

1977

Redturk you are an absolute numpty!

There are only a handful of truly great players in any generation

Gerrard & Roy Keane coome to mind Lucas does not!

Lucas ia a good player that's it!

Lucas cannot turn a match by himself, great players can.

Lucas been consistently 1 of our top performers for 12 - 18 months how can you say hes not class.....? the only thing he lacks is goals but hes playing dm so there isn't likely to be many anyway think you need to go an have a word with some proper fans who know what there talking about!

Was Roy keane not a defensive player?

Could he turn a match?

Can lucas?

QED

Roy keane? reallllyyyyyy? very good player at dm but never changed a game by himself really did you just say that1! :/

Charlie Adam was Blackpools top performer. Matt Tubs was Crawley Towns best performer. They are not "class".......

Players the play CDM are never seen as great players, they dont set the world alight. They must have more discipline than flair, therefore dont get the headlines. No Lucas is not great, but he is a player of real quality and has a fantastic attiude. All the best.

KNEE JERK

P.S Redturk its true you are a numpty.

You must be joking?

I remember the semi final of the champions league Keane tore Bayern Munich to shreds, it was an incredible display just one of many from keane

Lucas never done anything remotely like that not even in his or your wildest dreams

Kop on, I don't like united but keane was exceptional, being unfair to other teams who you dislike is immature

Sorry mate you wana swear at me every time i have my own onion!! who is the person mate, i have my own mind and onion? you want me to submit to the way you think? makelele was a defensive midfielder and he was world class or great which ever you wana pick. Lucas is not great, hes good but not great, get over it! RedTurk

@ Redturk. Are you sure you're not that guy that runs the Liverpool-Kop website? He is one of the most negative Liverpool "fans" I've ever seen.

What he normally does is take popular opinion and then have completely the opposite view. As a result, I no longer go on his website!

Redturk, I think I've heard *you* say one positive thing in the 2 years that I've been coming on this site.

I shall be *supporting* the team tonight, win, lose or draw. And forever more.

Matt S - YNWA

Lucas Leiva has defiantely shown himself to be one of the best defensive midfileders in Europe over the last 12 months .

Roy Keane has F*@K ALL to do with it .

I'm looking at "Lucas Leiva's First Team Performances" and there a few better in Europe .

Change a game ?? He is too busy winning it !

1977

Hmmm matt s, support the team all you want and support players that underperform as much as you want until we are labelled a mid table team and then keep supporting because if you cant criticise or question the quality of a player you might aswell tape your mouth with some celotape.RedTurk

You would be hard pushed to name 5 superior defensive midfielders playing in Europe - therefore Lucas Leiva is one of the best .

Made up we signed Bellamy. Someone said to me in the summer that they hoped we didn't sign him and the lad has turned that opinion on its head. He is a superb asset for us, works hard and is a top quality proven player. I think the lad has been superb for us and it just shows you Rafa could have had more out of him.

Being overly optimistic in the face of reality is stupid

Good evening Guys,

Hope your all ready for the match tonight, I know I am ;)

With the most likely signings being the 4 below (please note im not saying we'll sign them all, im just saying if we are going to sign anyone, it will be one of these 4). If you wanted to share your opinions with the forum, how happy would you be with following players.

- Lucas Ocampos (out of 10)
- Leroy Fer (out of 10)
- Gaston Ramirez (out of 10)
- Eduardo Vargas (out of 10)

Thank you guys, and have a nice time watching the game :-)

The only one i would like is Ocampos we lost out to united over Ronaldo we cant let another player of that quality slip away, If FSG are really focused on bringing quality youth to LFC he is the player for us

MJ

Other than Leroy Fer, I'd be happy, if any of these is brought in. I wonder what Lucas Ocampos can be, but a hope, that if he is to become something like Ronaldo, we're getting him. YNWA

I'm a liverpool fan i shall not give you all these waste of time storys e.g hazard or the german dude from dourtmund

These are people I feel are realistic people:
.need a striker - Adebayor, could be back up to carrol or carrol to be used as back up

.center back - cahil, newcastle afro dude

.winger - lennon or glen johnson (I don't know why kenny tries him there)

.world class player - now im not going to say messi or ronaldo, however I feel kenny needs to get one more world class player for liverpool to be a confident top 4 team.

Thats what I feel liverpool need to be a top 4 team
the ed's are proberbly going to shoot all my ideas down but ow well

Lost me on Adebayor...

Because anelka and alex have had transfer requets accepted at chelski do u reckon liverpool could make a bid for them

NO!

KT!

NO! why have other teams cast offs - they can't get in the chelsea team, they have no chance of getting in the mighty reds team!

Hope, not. Plenty of better options available. For Alex, we just don't need a new cb. We have plenty, there. Anelka, may be not too young to be bought as we've already great players in Bellamy and maxi, there. :)

I'd choose either of Wilson or Coates over Alex any day, and that's not biased either. His defending against us was fortunately (for us) woeful to a laughable extent. Wouldn't get in the team, when we have bright hopes in defenders.

Anelka? Again, laughable. Not good enough, I'd choose Sterling over him any day. And again not biased

Someone posted earlier re a Carroll story doing the rounds in liverpool, namely newcastle to offer £20m plus coloccini.

personally sounds like BS to me. However if there were any shred of truth, instead of coloccini i'd take £15m plus Demba Ba or just take the £20m.

there are 2 ways to look at if they did

1. a £15m loss, but it gives KK £20m to buy someone who's ready NOW, not later. candidates include Bent, Soldado, negredo, Rossi, even Anelka till the summer (granted high wages but low fee), all proven finishers

2. its like we took £35m for FT, not £50m.

as much as i would like him to do well, if anyone offered £20m-ish i'd snap their hand off. by the time Carroll comes good it'll be too late for this season. we can't afford to carry anyone. take downing as an example, he may not be scoring but he has been putting in the crosses and working quite well with enrique on the left. at no point in any game has Ac given me the confidence as a supporter of over 30yrs that he's gonna make it. whereas everytime Luis gets the ball you just know he's gonna do something.

it's nothing personal, i think he can do a job playing in a certain style, as proven at newcastle. i just don't think that he fits in with KK's style of playing(pass n move), hence not playing him from start.

i honestly think KK thought he'd turn out better than he has. all this 'he's only 22' i don't buy as owen, fowler, anelka, shearer all were younger than him but were banging them in, even as subs.

call it a mistake or whatever, that's football. Even ol whiskey nose has made many clangers over the years. but because he keeps winning things, people overlook them.

regardless of whether AC is sold etc, we need a player like Bent, who i think we could get for £20-25m. a proven finisher is just what we're missing.

good luck to the lads tonight, 2 plus goals puts us 5th.
if i was KK i'd play same 4-2-3-1 with
reina
Johnson, agger, skrtl, enrique,
hendo, adam
kuyt, maxi, bellamy
suarez

YNWA...Sinner21 {Ed001's Note - you do know Ba has a degenerative knee condition that means he could never pass a medical for us don't you?}

Definately a BS story but we live in hope.!

Matt b

I think bent would cost more than 20m.
Just keep the faith with Carroll ffs, so sick of "fans" slating a player at every chance.

KT!

I didn't Ed001, thanks for that..rules him out :)
is that not something like what bellers has got too? {Ed001's Note - Bellamy is earning less, he took a pay cut and paid up his City contract to join us for nothing. He is also a Liverpool fan who works his backside off for the team, while Ba is not. Bellers is a proven top class Premier League talent, Ba has had a few good games for West Ham and a couple more for Newcastle. There are huge differences between the two.}

I agree that Bent will always get you a good few goals over the season, but I think Andy is the future- for certain games he'll be a fantastic option coming on from the bench.
We have to give him the sort of chances he got and Newcastle, and he has to also learn pass and move, AND he needs his confidence back.
When it all comes together he'll be an excellent forward.

Ed001... i was simply refering to his knee injury, like when he was playing at city he was 'managed' due to it. didn't know Ba's was so bad although both west ham and newcastle took a punt.

re the other points you make, couldn't agree more, never wanted him to leave but at that time he had his differences with rafa which was a shame. when i heard he was coming back i was OTM!
you can tell Luis loves playing with him, its like theyve got telepathy! for me, if fit, he shud always start

sinner21 {Ed001's Note - Ba's knee injury is severe enough for him to fail any standard medical, he has failed numerous times in the past. As for Bellers, he may be a bit of a divvy after a night on the tiles, but his heart is in the right place. For instance, this week he took Gary Speed's father and kids along to Melwood to watch training.}

I've been reading so much nonsense on this site about Kenny and the some of his signings. Our away form over the last few years has been dreadful - that has been resolved. We haven't had a decent cup run in years - that has been sorted. We are playing good football and the only reason we have dropped points at home has been the outstanding goalkeeping heroics of hart, vorm, ruddy and de gae- 3 of those received man of the match awards!
Lucas has been outstanding for us but i'm sure whoever slips into this role will also shine - it's not exactly the hardest position on the pitch! If Suarez was crocked for the season then we would be in trouble.
If we win tonight and beat QPR at home on Saturday we could well be above Chelsea or level with them.
It's all to play for and lets get behind every player and support them as this team has the potential to go far. {Ed001's Note - if DM is so easy, why could Real Madrid not find a replacement for Makelele?}

Dm is not the easiest position to fill but i think its not the hardest position to fill, it would have to be if suarez gets injured like the chap said.RedTurk

Got a quick question for the eds or anyone else who would like to chip in.
It's regarding the stadium issue. I think it was ed002 who said we could build a new stadium using an existing stadium as a template. Eg the alianz arena. Saving money on architects fees etc.
My question is if we used the alianz arena as a template. Would our stadium look exactly the same or could the design be tweaked enough to make ours unique without adding on millions in design fees?
Although I like the alianz it would be a shame if it was just a carbon copy.

MIKEY {Ed001's Note - it would have to be tweaked due to planning regs etc anyway, so yes it would be tweaked slightly.}

Would love a stadium that lights up..
I don't want a dome type stadium though, i want the football to be as close as possible.

I know you are waiting in the wings you crowd, popping up at the first dropped points!!

Is there any interest in Evian's Christian Poulsen? I think he could do a decent job for us.

Rafa's Purple Goatie

He's marginally better than Lucas

I read some of the banters here and laugh my head off. If many of us here are offered KK's job, we'll probably almost definitely flunk it.

At the beginning of this season, many fans were shouting about how many midfielders we have and how many of them would sit doing nothing. And in just less than 120days down the line, two of them are already off with injury reducing the number. I'm not gloating about this, but this perfectly makes us understand how foresight could work wonders. No one knew if anyone would have injuries, but since the Midfield is always the engine room, it's always necessary to beef up the strength.

I understand our wanting to get the best out of every game but do we realize that before KK would try a defender in a DM position, he would have tried out all available options like Spearo, Hendo, Jonjo, Charlie and if possible Coady, to see if they would be good or not. Why have we forgotten end of last season in a hurry, when we called on Spearo to play alongside Lucas? Did he perform? Oh Yes! Well beyond our expectation for someone of his experience and play time. I aint saying I know better than anyone and this aint a process of fantasy management game, it is real life and only real people with abilities can do it.

The fact that Agger or Coates plays long ball, or defends or sweeps well does not qualify them for the DM position. Let them stay in their positions while others, meant for the position should be given the chance to work there.

When Gerrard was out with injury, we all screamed and did we die? No! When Torres left, we were deflated, but did we perish, NO! Now that our darling Lucas is out on injury, will we die? I think whether we like it or not, we will continue living. And no matter what happens today, tomorrow we will all come back here and say: 'Wow! That was brilliant of KK'.

If I were you, I'd sit back, relax and wait to watch the wonder the trio of KK, SC, and Kean would do today.

Whichever way it is, Spearo, Hendo, Coady, Charlie? It will all work well I'm quite sure, not because I'm a soothsayer but just because I know the spirit is high and the lads will do this for Lucas, even if not for anything/anyone else.

Let's all stop the back and forth on the CB/DM roles and focus on enjoying the game one at a time like KK would always say.

We will banter tomorrow and share jokes on how interesting the game was - Win or Lose. And yes I mean it! Win or Lose, we will come back tomorrow and say the game was really really great.

Bellers will perform wonders. Maxi will awe you! Charlie will make you sit at the edge. Spearing or Hendo or whoever it is, will make us roll our eyes. Suarez? Oh you already read my mind. I sincerely wish I could be in the stadium live to match our lads. This is it!

All y'all - You'll never walk alone!

Regards,
O'seunfunmi (Anfield Red)

Interesting how LFC are doing incredibly well away from home but , drawing a lot of the time at Anfield .

Whatever it is they are doing at Melwood is working very effectively against teams expected to carry the game a little but , not so much against teams expected to defend somewhat .

Soon the opposing home teams will wise up to the fact they may well lose if they attack and start to defend more . Hopefully the LFC team will have learn't how to win against such opposition and be ready to carry on winning the away games .

If we can get the 'results' at home against defensive teams that , we are getting away from home against attacking opposition , we are going to be very well prepared to compete against anything the opposition throw at us in any situation .

Really hoping LFC win the match tonight . I feel like it will go a long way .

Good luck mate!

My game just crashed, always momentarily lose interest if that happens, gonna do something else and take advantage of the forced disruption!

I recently lost a friend to Skyrim. It's a bad idea. I'd have thought FM was bad enough! {Ed001's Note - great game though, my daughter hogs mine so I can't get fully addicted.}

Watching BPL 24 hour channel here in Kenya a few minutes ago. They ended the programme with something funny ( Their words ) A photo of the Santa Dash in Liverpool. They found it very amusing the small amount of Blue Santas.
Made me smile. The peoples club is definately RED !

I get uneasy when we go into games as heavy favourites, with everyone expecting five goals.

There are no easy games in the PL- if the lads don't fight for it and give 110%, they'll come away with nothing.

We desperately need the three points to stay in touch with the top four/five, so a one-nil would be fantastic.

I think more goals will come as confidence increases and they win more games.

Everyone expected 5 goals against Swansea. The players always seem over confident against the so called lower teams and expect a win for turning up.
The gap between the top teams and the lower teams is a lot smaller now than it used to be. If we want to turn someone over 5 or 6-0 then the same amount of effort and fight is needed that we showed against Chelsea and man city recently.

Regarding tonight's game, I think the guy the Spearing (if picked) is going to have to keep an eye on is Dembele. Physically I think Jay uses his low centre if gravity well. He just needs to make sure that like Lucas he diverts the danger rather than always trying to make a tackle every time.

I mentioned Dembele before as a possible squad player. I like his quick, quick slow type of play. Reminds me a little of Barnes. I think it will be an interesting test against us, whilst I hope he does absolutely nothing, I'd advise fans to keep an eye on his movement and play to see whether they think he could wear a red shirt.

I like his weak strong type of play.

Only 4 out of our next 15 games are NOT being shown live on tv...boom!

It would be interesting to see how that compares to the other top teams!

It'd be nice to be able to afford sky sports then! :(

To be fair, we have had so many games live on SS1 since the start of the season

Just read through some posts on here are ridicuous.
Carra or coates cdm,no way!holding midfielders are there to break up play and to pick the right pass.young Jordan or spearing will do this perfectly to me.
Have faith in them.

If you think what you have posted is surprising see the rumours website where we should buy a certain player in the hope of enticing another player to join us!

Now that's some logic!

Ur obv refering to my post about ramirez. i said do u reckon !!!! that after buying suarez n coaters in their own right brilliant single buys, it doesnt harm our chances in recruiting a 3rd uruguaying player, united bought kleberson in d hope of getting ronaldhinho(obv failed) , such strategies happen in football.
i suppose your comments are the most accurate on here, maybe ur comments are the only ones that bshould be allowed on here cos clearly the rest of us say rediculous things, MORAN

hi guys,
todays game shld not be seen as the one to win, instead it shld be looked as a win by some good margin in order to have our goal difference up as we have the lowest among the bunch.
its a great oppourtunity as fulham's defence is not the fastest..
thoughts please
hims_red

I will take a 1 nil win, game wont be easy

fulham have drawn vs city and were very unlucky vs spurs (stonewall pen in stoppage time not given)

That type of post gives me the heebie geebies that we'll lose. have some respect.

That would be the same Fulham that got an excellent draw away to in-form arsenal yeah? 1-0 would do me.

Hi all,

Can someone explain to me why we aren't considering replacing Lucas with Coates?

I thought he had a cracker of a game against Chelsea and I was also of the view that he filled the role of a Defensive Midfielder for Uruguay when he came to our attention?

Why would we bring back another mistake of the past in Shelvey? I would be encouraging Blackpool to sign him!

Don't get me wrong,I think Spearing can play but I don't think he is a defensive midfielder.

Aussie Scouse

Coates is a centre back, spearing is a defensive midfielder and shelvey is good

Shelvey a mistake from the past the lad is still only very young and had a fantastic 4 months at blackpool. We should play young jay as the dm as thats his position not a cb out of place. Lets support the lads we have got and play them where the there ment to play and get a good win tonight. Chris w

1) No, Coates is a CB, it would be stupid to play him out of his comfort zone in a league that he is still adapting to.

2) Shelvey a mistake? The lads young and a loan move with a couple of goals won't have done him any harm whatsoever.

3) You're right about Spearing, he is not a defensive mid, more of a box to box.
We don't need to directly replace Lucas so spearing or Henderson will most likely step in.

KT!

On Shelvey. I completely disagree. He is a great player, and should not be sold. Spearings also fits the defensive midfield role better than any other player we have, in my opinion.

neekcub

Your post is a joke right. Because, otherwise you do not know anything about the club. Spearing is a DM and Coates is a CB. And, I think Shelvey has afuture at Liverpool as he is a dedicated player who has clearly matured during his small loan spell at Blackpool.

What are you on about mate? Biggest pile of rubbish I've ever read. Spearing not a defensive midfielder? What is he then a goalie? And Shelvey a mistake from the past? Gotta be a wind up right? He's on loan to further his development and gain first team experience. Jeez

davethebutcher

Has anyone told aussie red that the ball over here is round ?... Shelvey a mistake is an oxymoron...no wait aussie red is an oxymoran... Tobiwan

What past are we talking about m8, Jonjo Shelvey (born 27 February 1992) he is very young and still learning, will be very good Liverpool player for many years.

My team vs Fulham would be:

-----------------Reina---------------

-Johnson--Skrtel--Agger--Enrique-

----------Adam----Spearing--------

Maxi----Suarez----Bellamy

---------------Carroll---------------

Carroll must start, and the 3 behind him look really good when they play together

Downing ahead of carrol, him n enrique were immense last week, pace hurts
5 gold stars

Carra has to start where's Carra?

-----------------Reina---------------

---Johnson--Skrtel--Agger--Enrique---

-----------Adam----Spearing--------

-----Hendo----Bellamy----Downing---

---------------Suarez---------------

BENCH:
Doni, Kelly, Carra, Coatez, Kuyt, Maxi, Carroll

So much anti Carra

Need to improve our finishing today if we are to win. Fulham are not the quickest in defense so i think we will have probably 7 or 8 good chance ourselves with the likes if Suarez and Bellamy on the squad, so if we could take 3 or 4 of them and with our great defensive record i think we can win. Lucas will be missed but let's hope spearing/Henderson or anyone else for that matter can step up to the plate. Let's get behind the team and enjoy the football and hopefully the 3 points.

Hello to all fellow kopites and EDS. I haven't posted on here for ages had nothing interesting to post really. So here goes, I've been told that LFC will bring in new players if the right players are available and at the right price. The club are looking to strengthen in key areas in order to make a concerted effort to push for a champions lge spot. Money will be made available to Kenney and is not in anyway dependent on players leaving.

LMAO - OH' Really, who told you, Kenny or Commoli.

... and the sky is blue.

Matty P

Nothing interesting to post still applies

Not wishing to sound too sarcastic mate, but saying that we will buy if the right player becomes available at the right price just about sums up the transfer policy since FSG took over- it's not really breaking headline news.

With the exception of Suarez and Enrique We have bought the wrong player at the wrong price since FSG took over

Easy lads, he's just passing it on, it might have been the case that they were not going to buy any player at all and wait for summer.

^^ That's right mate, what a shambles bellamy and adam have been since coming on.
And they cost us an arm and a leg.
get a grip.

Reina
Johnson - Skrtel - Agger - Enrique
Gerrard - Lucas
Iturbe - Coutinho - Muniain
Suarez

Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
Lucas Adam
Reus Ramirez Downing
Suarez

Very young but expensive midfield their

muniain is going to be a great player imo if any premier club bid so will real and barca

Muniain is over rated, he is no where near Silva or Mata standard, suso can be better than him.

Have u even watched muniain play? He is brilliant.
Indian Buzzer

Yes on Sunday night and a couple o games before and yes he has a good touch and can play pass and move butI fail to see what makes him outstanding? His goals and assists are not there yet despite playing regularly for some time now, yes he could develop his end product but it's risky bringing him in to New league at this stage of his development unless everyone is patient enough to pay 15m for a 19yr old squad player in the hope he develops

05 Dec 2011 00:20:42
Would Kelly be available to play right midfield. Shame to see such a bright prospect warming the bench so often.

Kelly at RM rather than Johnson? If either are going to play RM [which I doubt when we have downing, maxi, hendo and bellamy] it will be Johnson.

b**stard99

He is being phased in slowly. Remember he is also a little injury prone. I think he will take over from Carra/Skrtel in CD.

05 Dec 2011 00:10:55
Quick question guys why do we need a defensive mid? Can we not play with two normal midfielders? Just wondering thanks
Southall Scouser

In this day and age, there are too many quality "in the hole" players that will exploit the space.

I can't see why we don't just play Adam and Hendo in cm. Spearing can come in a 5 man midfield against teams like Spuds and City.

The DM win the ball for u when u lost it. his first job to focus on ball when our player lost it.

DM are a big part of the game these days adam normaly dosent do much running lucas supplies him with the ball at his feet
