Ith Caroll being injured how did he pass his medical?
Was there anything taken for granted that this wouldn't reoccur again?
Once bitten twice as shy, Aqulanni rings a bell?

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

It is not a bad injury it was only a slight muscle tear, it's only taking so long to heal because the damage is in a place with little blood flow just above the knee.

(To the tune of Sweet Caroline)

Where it began
End of the transfer window
When old torres left us all
No number nine
what would we do without him
who'd have believed you'd come along
touching hands
reaching out
scoring goals
number NINE

SWEEET CAROL NINE (OH OH OH)
SCORING NEVER LOOKED SO GOOD
GOALS ALL THE TIME (OH OH OH)
JUST LIKE KENNY SAID HE WOULD

came to the reds
and now he's gave us all hope
kenny dalglish you've done us proud

Please post this Ed.
(We will all be singing this when he scores on his home dubut against manure)

I'll post the instructions for Google Chrome (so you can watch the match) around lunchtime tomorrow.

Or search the archives using my name.

(dear ed's, if possible shove it in rumour and banter so no one misses it. I was even thinking perhaps a button on the side bar with the instructions on)

RED LENIN

Thanx alot mate, my nephew told me it had been posted and I missed it. I did ask for how to find it though. I've heard it's the best way to watch games, anyone had proplems, viruses etc, like that myp2p pish, that killed mrs sicks laptop. Viruses galore from it, the robbing bams! Anyone got an opinion about the possible ruling regrading Sky broadcasts etc, could end up a bit nasty money wise IMO.

"Is it right ed that the wages of players who signed before June 1 2010 do not come under financial fair play rules?

{editor: Not a clue sorry.}"

It is not correct. Sharkey.

From what various pundits have been saying they do. Isn't it mentioned in the John Henry interview in the guardian too?
If someone has a link to somewhere explaining how the system works please post as it seems to confuse most of us if not all of us!

PDUK Y.N.W.A {ed's note - the system is simple, it is a simple profit and loss account from the club's accounts. There is an allowance for spending on youth development and facilities. Other than that you have to stay within the target set for losses over a 3 year period. The UEFA site has the full ruling posted.}

In addition on Cole:

{ed's note - he does have good technique, but he has no intelligence, I don't just mean generally, I mean he doesn't know when and where to run or how to position himself defensively. Though he isn't the brightest off the pitch either bless him.}

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I agree, when we first signed him I was overjoyed. I spoke to a mate of mine, a big Chelsea fan, who wasn't concerned about his departure saying he's a one trick pony and how right he was.

I have contact with a fella who used to coach him at Chelsea and is now at a Championship club. He said (and I initially posted this info in August) that Cole has one of the best first touches that he has come across. . but . . he is not the most intelligent and makes poor decisions (and importantly does not learn from them). He cannot time and a run and runs too straight when he does go. . He also said as a bloke a really nice fella . . but he added that we would not have signed him for this reason.

The negative style of football adopted by Hodgson made it hard for players like Joe Cole to have any impact at LFC. With Dalglish now at the helm and introducing a pass and move footballing philoposy, players like Cole could re-invent themselves especially Cole who could thrive on a pass and move football.

Evening all and Ed's it's been done a few times by others and I've considered a few different options but here is my difinitive dream team for next season (based on my favourite players and also those that would be realistic targets)

- - - - - - - - Reina- - - - - - - -
Kelly- - Lovren- - Agger- - Santon
Krasic- -Gerrard- -Meireles- -Turan
- - - - - - - - Pjanic- - - - - - - - -
- - - - - - - -Suarez- - - - - - - - -

I know this won't happen because I've left out Carroll who I don't rate but the team looks good to me and if you insist on having Carroll then replace Meireles with Pjanic and play Carroll up top with Suarez. Opinions please

Ed, when is carroll fit? { new ed's note: around 4 weeks }

05 Feb 2011 22:37:29
Just a thought, last year we failed in a bid for Kenwynne jones, thought to be around 10 mill, eventually he signed for Stoke, this week we paid 35 for Andy carroll.
Did we miss out first time around and pay 25 mill too much, looks like the very same sort of player as caroll.

Ed's your thoughts? { new ed's note: I would say Carroll is by far better than Jones, even if a tad expensive. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . kenwyne jones is at his level in my opinion, not consistent enough and as sulky as chelski 9.carroll will battle us to sucess with the gun slinger suarez!

There are only two teams in Scotland aren't there? Not great odds to win the domestic trophy then eh? All I remember when I was a kid, was listening to the presenter of scores at 5pm on a Saturday waffling about Partick Thistle, and thinking what a sh%te name for a team. And all the goals that went in up there were due to the keepers being cr@p!
Mickey mouse stuff really!

I have heard from a good source that Joe Cole was minutes away from signing for West Ham on loan for the rest of the season - Only a 'Blackpool' style admin error stopped it going through.

Apparently, he is very unhappy about his lack of first team playing time, and feels the club have gone back on a few promises made to him when he signed, when he was apparently assured of a staring role.

He confronted Dalglish about this and demanded to be included in the first team and was told, in no uncertain terms, that his inconsistent performances have put him way down the pecking order.

Dalglish likes him as a player, but feels he is not involved enough in games and that we cannot afford any player to not be showing 100%, all of the time - hence he allowed Torres to leave.

Expect to see him go in the summer - Either West Ham or part of the Adam deal to Blackpool.

On another matter - Turan deal completed for the summer, and we are in advanced talks with Hazard - Forward line will then be complete with only a quality left back and centre back to follow. {ed's note - he would have to take a near 90% pay cut to sign for Blackpool! That is never going to happen.}

don't think so i was speaking to joe cole on friday in melwood he is injured that is why he isn't playing

to prove that i saw joe cole and spoke to him i will post 2 pictures
1 of me with him and another of him training (just running)

Liverpool 4 rangers 0 pre season 2 years ago when they were average at best and we played bout 6 reserves imagine if we were in the SPL

05 Feb 2011 21:53:58
Could it be a coincidence that Torres has looked sulky and detatched ever since Chelsea fan Martin Broughton got involved?. . . .Just a thought and my last word on Fernando Torres. January 31st.will prove to have been a great day for LFC . . . the buzz of optimism is already showing both on and off the pitch. But the most significant date will be the one which saw Roy Hodgson collect his millions and return to London. I'm not going to slag him but, sufficed to say, he just wasn't right for the club.
The brand of football we are playing now is so refreshing by comparison. When you fork out the best part of £40 you want to see your team play with a certain level of cohesion and willingness to win. Under Roy the "no lose" mentality was enough to make grown men weep (which I almost did after the home defeat v B'pool).
I know I'm stating the obvious but I can't explain just how excited I am at the moment.
Regardless of what happens tomorrow the future's looking bright under Kenny. I'm proud to have been part of the "golden era" of the 70s-80s and would love this generation of fans to see the silverware back again. I also remember how haggard and stressed Kenny was looking in the last months of his reign. I remember the rot starting to set in under Kenny and was actually relieved when he left. But Kenny Dalglish went straight into the deep-end as player-manager and performed absolute miracles, had to endure the nightmare of Hillsborough and found it hard to replace players who were irreplacable. He needed to get out of the Anfield cauldron and went on to prove how brilliant a manager he was elsewhere.
The Liverpool of 2011 are getting, in my opinion, the best manager they could possibly have at this moment in time. I would take him over absolutely anybody else on the planet and here's why;
1) He's Liverpool through and through (with a dollop of Celtic thrown in) and he's been associated with the Club for years now so won't need time to bed in.
2) He knows how to handle the media and will not embarrass or misrepresent the Club as did Hodgson.
3) He is liked and respected by the players, staff and supporters and (I think) the owners.
4) He isn't a part of the Ferguson clique as per Roy.
5) He plays a style of football popular with the supporters and more likely to win stuff. With the continued backing of the owners in the transfer-market we won't be a million miles away next season. Kenny knows where we need strengthening but will only buy quality (Suarez, Carroll) and will try to steer clear of Championship players (Konchesky).
6) He looks healthier, happier and fresher than he did before he left last time. He is wiser and under far less pressure this time(believe it or not). His enthusiasm and appetite are already taking hold.
7) He's our King. . . .a legend.

For a little bit of devilment i went on the manure site this morning and did a little banter.

One of the manure supporters wrote this:

'Ed, why is it that the Liverpool fans can come on here any time they want and discuss matters concerning Man United. But whenever I want to post something about Liverpool (in good taste) on the Liverpool site, it never goes up?
{Editor's note - Am not sure, I do not edit the Liverpool site much atm. Though that is the site that gets the mosts posts so it may be further down the page that were is would be on this site}

Ed do you think we could sign all of the following in summer as think they are reasonably priced?

E. Banega Valencia. 10 million
D. Santon Inter 10 million
S. Kjaer Wolfsburg 12 million
S. Marvueax (free)
S. Defour Liege 11 million
O. Toivonen PSV 12 million
A. Turan Gala 7-8 million (last 12 months of contract)

Plus one of following E. Hazard (Lillie) or A. Sanchez (Udinese) I'd say either would cost 20 25 million as a marquee signing.

The above would be an excellent piece of business.

Oh, that's only £90m so!
Come off the stage!
There is no way half of those players will be signed.
If we get 4 players in the window costing £60m total & recoup maybe £20m for 7 - 8 unused first team players, i for one will be overjoyed with that!
But even that is unrealistic probably.
If Hazard is available & Turan is available & want to come i think we'll go for them with a left back & someone who can play the dual role of centre back & midfield.
I hope you are right though (except for Marvueax) let me add!

Liverpool desperately need a centre back & come the summer I think we should go for Godin of Athletico Madrid. Suarez is his team mate at international level. He'd be a lot cheaper than Cahill or Shawcross.

The New 'Andy Carroll Song' sung to the tune of 'sweet caroline' obviously (lol) .

Made by the Liverpool FC supporters. Share this to let everyone know! :)

This is just for fun.

Lyrics:

Sweet Carroll 9
Oh Oh Oh
Scoring never looked so good
So good So good So good
Goals all the time
Oh Oh Oh
Just like Kenny said he would

(Whilst swaying back & forth sing the Na na na's)
Na na na, na na na na na, na na na, na na na na na

Ohh Ohh Ohh (rising)
Sweet Carroll 9
Oh Oh Oh
Him and Suarez look so good
So good So good So good
Goals all the time
Oh Oh Oh
Just like Kenny said they would, would, would (and fade)

Many people are hoping to hear this as soon as possible (not least for the Boston RedSox link) .

Chelsea's record £50 million signing Fernando Torres is already king of the shirt sales – outselling his Liverpool replacement Andy Carroll by 250 jerseys to one.

"Demand for Chelsea's new Torres home shirts are currently 40% higher than when he arrived at Anfield three years ago, according to suppliers.

"Shirt sales for the Kop's other new striker, Luis Suarez, are 380% more popular than Carroll replicas, but are still trailing behind Chelsea's Spanish signing by 30 to one."
think that 50million we got for him was peanuts to what he was really worth his shirt sales alone will get double that back in a season

WOW, What a day in the EPL. .

Arsenal - ha ha ha, Wilshere could be in for a big fine after his 'tweet' " Inconsistent refereeing needs to stop. It's killing the game. If Diaby is sent off, what's the difference between that and Kevin Nolan's challenge on our keeper!? " - Should he get the same £10k fine as Babel ?

Tweet now removed, Collymore getting dogs abuse from Gooners for being a 'grass' & re-tweeting

United - ha ha , Good old Wolves, even with an unwarranted 5 minutes of Fergie time

Sunderland lost too, which means a win at the Bridge puts us 6th.

I see Talksport have had to make a public apology to Rafa Benitez after Danny Kelly called him a 'Nonce' live on air. Given what's occured with Gray and Keys that has to be a sackable offence ?

Talksport will be making a large donation to a charity of Rafa's choosing by way of an apology.

Anyway, really looking forward to tomorrow, should be a really feisty game - lets hope the result goes our way.

Anybody got any info on who will be the club's CEO. I did ask about 10 days ago - but then the World went mad with the signing of Suarez, sale of Torres, signing of Carroll & the Adam shenanigans. It's been a breathless few weeks since KD took over, but what a future we now have ahead of us. .

RE, Sickbhoy,

He spent all day telling Liverpool fans how he liked Liverpool trying to make friends. RE. the below paragraph

''It's KK I dislike not Liverpool, some of the best matches I have seen involved your team, FA cup finals, a 4-4 draw with Everton (? I think) and the CL final in Istanbul''

We don't like him so he went to the ManU ste and said he hates us ?.RE. The paragraph below

''I hate Liverpool and Klown Kenny so much is because a) my dad brought me up to dislike Liverpool''

So, in summary, Rangers haven't actually won anything worth winning. I mean, at least Celtic's argument holds some water thanks to their European Cup, but … Cup Winners Cup? That's scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Rangers and Chelsea fans, the reason you're on here is because you're sides arent competing either, Celtic gonna win this one and Chelsea got there hands all tied up trying to replace there aging stars before spurs take you're spot, we have been really poor this season but so have you, back to the rangers fan, you're Sunday league side gets laughed out of the champions league every time. At least when we were in it we made the most of it, ha , ain't no one on this site even bothering posting depots on you're respective sited because we know youl be back to read, were just a bigger club and I'll put money on that we don't go down. . . But I know you won't back you're words up cos you're just a useless sh*ep stirrer. PS went to Glasgow recently, I was really impressed with you're statue of Mel Gibson, ha ha priceless. . . .

Kevin Keegan?
Graeme Souness?
Kenny Dalglish (left, managed 3 other clubs before finding his "loyalty" again by backstabbing another manager)
Ian Rush?
Steven Gerrard? (How many times has he been close to doing a Fernando)
Steve Mcmanaman?
Robbie Fowler?
Michael Owne?
John Arne Riise?
Peter Peardsley?
And to cap it all Torres, who has went from the best striker in the world in your eyes to an injury prone sulk.

Theres nothing as fickle and deluded as a scouser. Last time you were any good, the Scots league that you are slagging was as good as yours and their national team was qualifying for tournaments.Your team wouldn't even have a history if it wasn't for Scotsmen. So like yourself let them reminisce of their past glories, again, like yourself it is all they have got, and a long time before either taste success again. In a way Liverpool are the Scotland of the premier league. Trying to make out they are better than they are and conning fans into thinking everything will come good in the end. More a chance of Rangers reaching another Euro final than you have of winning anything.
C'mon Chelsea, time to put this relegation fodder back in their place. At least Torres might get a medal haul to match any Rangers player now that he has joined one of the big clubs. My prediction, Chelsea 4 Liverpool 1 ( penalty from Saurez diving). Come back with your nonsense when you are a threat to the big boys, and not Fulham or West Ham. Alan Irvine is looking for a job, watch your back KK.

Editor, I know you give up your time for this and this wonderful site is about debate as much as debunking rumours, but posts like the one above leave a bad taste in your mouth.

I can take a bit of banter, but Mr Teddy Bear was just being abusive. He obviously knows nothing about LFC, the players that played for it in the past, or it's managers. He should stop comparing our club with the footballing embarrassment that is the Old Firm.
I admit we Liverpool supporters do enjoy posting a few wind-ups on Chelsea, Man U and Spurs sites, but we never insult their clubs to such a degree as this person has done.

{Editor's Note: Just skip over any posts that cause you concern.}

Here we go again another Chelsea fan reading our page because they have nothing going on at there sites. No one is interested in what you have to say, you're struggling aswell this year and your team is going to have to buy buy buy to replace a massive aging squad, you have very little youth quality so look to other teams fir your stars but that can't go on forever, one day youl realise what I time bomb Chelsea is and no one will care when it goes off, we'l all just sit back and laugh, your an expensive side trying to disguise yourself as big team but are nit fooling anyone. Enjoy the bext spending spree because it ill bd your last.

To the Rangers fan spouting off about irrelevant nonsense - who cares what they have won. Scottish football has been made a complete joke by the Glasgow teams who have squeezed every last bit of decency out of it. Perhaps one day you'll get bored of swapping the Scottish title back and forward between yourselves and your mirror image in the hoops. However rest assured that there is no way that you will ever play in the English leagues - why would they put up with the vitriol and the insane conflict? May there be a plague on both your houses. LFC fan in Scotland

An LFC fan in Scotland. . .what exactly have you seen them win. . . . .and theres guys slagging a guy coz he like Man U but goes to parkhead? must be true what they say about pool fans, there blank expressions are backed up blank brains. Your team are going the same way as leeds forest derby swindon charlton. your time in the top division is ending bu leeds will pass you on their way up. Look at the size of liverpool and they have 2 of the worst teams in the league, kenny the klown , good yin BTW, will need harry potter to help you lot stay up, your 20 years behind Man U arsenal and chelsea who have all won the league even man city and spurs are leaving you behind.

Two the blue nose on this page, the only reason you're on here mate is because you're getting battered by the hoops this year, you have one rival team and you struggle to out smart them, rangers wouldn't make top 10 in the perm, but you already know this and deep down it's pipping you off that's why you're on this site, you can't help yourself.

Alright, thanks. My "in-the-know" friend has now gone down in my estimations. He was the guy who told me Owen and Alonso were Madrid-bound weeks before everyone else.

Ed. . . Do you think Ever Banega has ever been on our radar?, cos in my opinion he is excactly what we need as he is the perfect blend between Xabi and Mascherano, and His club Valencia would surely accept 10m or less as they're in need of finances. . .and worryingly I've recently read that both Spurs and Everton had a look at him during january!. .And if you think they have looked at him and thought no thanks, what do you think could possibly put them off? . .I think I'd rather have him then Charlie Adam, and i like Charlie Adam! .

YNWA

SI

{Editor's Note: I don't doubt that Liverpool have looked at the player - but I do doubt that he would be sold for less than Valencia paid for him. I very much doubt that they wish to sell the player, but if he were available I am sure their would be plenty of interest.}

After talks with Kenny, Joe Cole was told if he can prove his fitness and his worth to the team in the 2nd half of the season, then he still has a future at the club beyond the summer. Although West Ham were sniffing around him in the last window, Joe made it entirely clear he will not ever return to West Ham. Newcastle did enquire about him regarding a loan deal as part of the Carroll deal, but Cole quickly ruled out the possibility, as he and his wife are settled in merseyside.

05 Feb 2011 17:58:38

LFC have only swapped ONE pair of strikers for another pair. This is not a great investment (£1 million). We needed to get other players too, Henry and co had enough time to get one or two other players. Henry will not plough money into the club like Abramovich; he will want to sell first. So I am pessimistic about signings that weare rumoured to make in the summer. Henry has also said the wants to being in young new talent cheap and then to sell later if necessary. THIS SOUNDS LIKE A BUSINESSMAN TRYING TO MAKE MONEY. To which he is entitled but I worry for the future long term success of the club. I hope he proves me wrong.

Unsigned and Eds at 05 Feb 2011 17:06:05:

“{Editor's Note: You should probably be aware that interest payments on existing debts are excluded from the new financial rules.}

ED, Can you please explain this, any debt still has to be paid, the only way to pay them would be through the clubs revenues which must wipe out any profit to be used on the purchase of new players? Therefore ANY club with large interest payments will surley have less to spend on players? Or am i missing something?

{Editor Note: Different ed mate, I'll pass this on as I don't know much about the FFP myself.}”
The Financial Fair Play rules exclude certain expenditure from the calculations. These include the spending on youth development, the spending on infrastructure (for example, the costs associated with improving the stadium or training facilities), the costs associated with community development and interest payments on existing debts. The debts of course have to be paid from the revenue generated by the club, but in calculating the amount that a club is able to spend, the payments are excluded. As a simple example, if the income through gate receipts, sales, merchandizing, sponsorship etc is £100M, and costs incurred are:
Wages: £60M
Running Costs (security, floodlights, policing, etc.): £20M
Improvements to Stadium: £5M
Interest Payments on Existing Loans: £5M

This would leave a taxable profit of £10M and finally a profit of £6M after taxes have been paid.

However, for the purposes of the new Financial Fair Play rules, the amount the club can then spend on buying players is the £6M profit plus a further £10M in excluded costs (the costs associated with improving the stadium and interest payments on existing debts) making £16M plus the owners may supplement this from their own pockets or a cash stockpile they may have) to the extent of a maximum of €45M (about £37M) in any three year period.

Hopefully this simple example provides some clarification.

Sharkey.

You said earlier that liverpool will be winning the FA youth cup this year, because they're the best team left. Well what about the reigning champions, who have put out arsenal, the previously unbeaten sunderland away & only have barnsley at home in the quarters. I think they may have a decent chance.

Well said, i think all this talk of him leaving should stop, he hasn't said he wants to leave so stop all the negative talk. .he is by a mile the best keeper in the world and consistantly plays well. he was our best player last season aswell. get behind the man as there is no replacement out there for this truly great goalkeeper. .

So, in summary, Rangers haven't actually won anything worth winning. I mean, at least Celtic's argument holds some water thanks to their European Cup, but … Cup Winners Cup? That's scraping the bottom of the barrel.

{Editor Note: Funny he counts the "UEFA Cup Final" as an honour. Is that because they haven't won the big one yet?}

I support Celtic, season ticket and all, my dad is Irish and grew up in Ashton Under Lyne. Sorry for having an interest in another club mate, I went to watch Accies v Dundee Utd because its 10mins down the road from me, should I return my Celtic season ticket back for doing so. My point was after seeing what KK done to Celtic (10 years after he left your team) I have no respect left for him and I sincerely doubt he is the man to lift Liverpool from their present prediciment. And if i'm honest I don't understand why the Liverpool fans are so blinkered towards him after such a length of time away from the club. IMO he is obviously getting the job full time after the money the money your new owner gave him. In 3/ 4 months time, if a new manager comes in and say doesn't fancy Carroll, would the club recoup their outlay. I'm not really interested in the complete hatred between yourselves and Man Utd, I prefer a bit of banter and ribbing, and I have been to OT quite a few times over the years, and the best was the twice I have seen them play your team. It was the closest I had experienced outside an Old Firm game. I know of a lot of English people who also have a soft spot for Scottish teams, what's so wrong with that, mate? Peter Beardsley, Ian Rush, Ray Houghton even Steve McMannaman (sp) and Robbie Fowler regulary travelled to Glasgow to watch games. Did that make them any less loyal to Liverpool?

SickBhoy, Thank you so much mate, when people take time out of their sad lives to attack then it can only be through jealousy and bitterness which means Liverpool must be going in the right direction and with your MASSIVE debt and the new financial rules, the worry is starting, isn't it? So thank you for showing us all you pain, please keep it up it puts a big smile on my face.

{Editor's Note: You should probably be aware that interest payments on existing debts are excluded from the new financial rules.}

ps, I won't reply as i'm not bitter or jealous so i have no pain or need to attack. LOL

05 Feb 2011 15:44:53
Hi ed,
With the club now looking to be self sufficient, do you have any idea how much the interest payments were costing us a year under hicks and gillett.

Thanks mate.

Stu.

{Editor's Note: The last published set of accounts showed a £177M turnover. Key figures are wages in excess of £100M, interest payments of £40M and a £55M loss.}

SickBhoy - never trust a man who supports two teams. Still, at least being a part-time supporter of each means you can jump ship when Utd's debt catches up with them and Celtic manage to win a title in a two team league.

NickS

That far ahead of his time? He raided the EPL for players for Celtic, then theses players failed miserably due to his nonsensical tactics and his over inflated self worth! He turned good players into alot of s**ep, then used John Barnes as a scapegoat, and basically ruined any chance JB had of becoming a manger. Just another sign that Klown Kenny looks after No.1 nd fuk everyone else. It was a happy day when he left Celtic Park, and I'm glad to see he has carried on the unstable performances that saw Benitez hounded out. How long before Klown Kenny is hounded out, football has changed since 1994/ 95 when he was last succesful with any club, and then what? His usual earth shattering bottle crash. Charlie Adam? Nothing like chasing the best lol, at least he will do you a turn in the Champoinship

"So personally, unless Anfiled can be developed to 75-80,000 with the potential to build even more than that if needs be, then it's time to move. "

We've struggled to fill anfield this year and you want a 70/ 80 thousand seater? I will be extremely happy if we stay and add 15 thousand to the capacity. The massive debt and terrible atmosphere of a new stadium would be a disaster.

Dalglish likes him as a player, but feels he is not involved enough in games and that we cannot afford any player to not be showing 100%, all of the time - hence he allowed Torres to leave.

just got shut of one player who thought he could strooll around the pitch and sulk but still pick up his 100k - cole only has himself to blame, not been performing and things i think will change big style during the summer, so joe cole take note or follow torres out the door

"""Hi, ED. I'm from Indonesia, my first post
Regarding to youth set up, can you tell me where we (LFC) stand compared to other EPL Team? Are we have a bright future on this?"""

At the moment, liverpool have one of the best under-18 teams in england, which looks likely to win the FA youth cup. During Benitez' time, he brought in 2 ex-Barcelona youth coaches by the name of Rodolfo Borrel and Pep Segura, who are responsible for nurturing the likes of Messi and Iniesta.

Liverpool have began focusing much more on signing youth players, and we have some real prospects, to name a few are: "Suso" - Absolutely amazing player, can be world class if he continues to develop, Raheem Sterling, Conor Coady and Andre Wisdom.

Hopefully we will continue to give youth a chance as shown this season with Martin Kelly and Jonjo Shelvey, who have both been very impressive.

To add to the above if we carry on panicking that Pepe is leaving then that my put the idea in his head, lets get behind him support him and sing his name all day long as he is the best we have ever had and long for him to stay. if the unthinkable should happen D Camolli has looked at Hugo Lloris.

I agree, you should definately get right behind Pepe, sing his mane all day long. It worked with Torres so well, and Man Utd are on the lookout for a new keeper. So please, on behalf of all EPL fans sing away, it will give us all another laugh when he deserts the Titanic of the EPL. As for Carroll, it's the first time I've heard of rats joining a sinking ship, surprised that you didn't sign Diouf back to lift the mood of your squad, you could have ran a book on who would moan, spit the dummy out and leave first between him and Klown Kenny!

To the tune of When the Reds go marching in regarding the awesome arena that is Anfield:

My garden shed

P.S. Please please sign Charlie Adam, I would hate to see him at Man Utd but would love to see him fail miserably at Liverpool. And I do agree that your reported bids were roughy the correct valuation. You should be aiming higher than a 25 yr old 18 month wonder, 12 of those months spent in the Championship. Wait till the truth comes out about his personna, one of the main reasons Rangers let him go.He would come in and tell Gerrard what he is doing wrong in his game, no BS, he has ideas well above his station.

I'm sure Gerrard would jump at the chance to swap his two League Cups, two FA Cups, two Community Shields, UEFA Cup (pending a second one to be delivered in May 2011) and UEFA Champions League medals as well as his countless Ballon D'Or nominations and MBE for the Braveheart Superleage and Mickey Mouse Challenge Cup in Scotland.

Hi ed and all lfc fans I think we should all take a lot of consolation from torres's interview on ssn because twhen they asked him if he is in chelsea for the long haul he said '' I don't know ask me when I am 32'' and he said the only team he would maybe kiss its badge is atletico madrid, and he said '' I moved to chelsea not to win the prem but to play in the champs league and win it. So very obviously chelsea have bought a player who does not care where he plays and has no loyalty just his needs are important and last but not least '' football has long lost its romanticism it is a different thing now''.So torres is just a man with no heart cares only about himself.
If I was a chelsea fan I would be worried they have just signed him for 50MILLION AND WHEN ASKED WHY YOU SIGNED HE SAYS BECAUSE I WANT TO WIN CAMPS LEAGUE. When asked will u be here for the long haul he said ASK ME WHEN I AM 32. CHELSEA YOU BOUGHT YOURSELVES A PROBLEM! !
this should make all lfc fans happy we got rid of him.

Hey ed, Glen Johnson seems to have a new lease of life ever since Kenny took over. Do you think it is fair to say the likes of him and Agger are more than likely to remain beyond this summer? Also, how great is it to see the lads all embracing each other when a goal is scored? It seems team-spirit is at an all time high at the moment.

If pepe leaves get 25 mill forhim and replace him with akinfeev for 15, no worries

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Not that simple - Pepe is the best in the league - arguably the world - he can't be replaced that easily i'm afraid - he is a driving force for the team so much starts with his distribution - I've often said that Pepe would be a bigger loss than Torres and I stand by that.

We need to keep Pepe between the posts

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

i disagree, pepe is good at some things but he has his weaknesses, he s not so s**t hot oneone one with a striker and can be suspect under crosses, undoubtedly an excellent shot stopper distributor and sweeper but i believe personally akinfeev is a better keeper , i also believe neuer is a better keeper

H***in hell why are people still going on about Torres goin. He has left. We got good money. Spent it on 2 very promising players and he has said yesterday he can't say anything bad about the people of Liverpool. His beef is with the club whatever the reason, LFC is not this innocent business some people expect either they can show things in a different light to the reality and I expect them to be ruthless if a player doesn't cut it or is too old. I don't expect loyalty to players and therefore would not expect is back. As long as he says nothing against the fans then its fine. Even the ones who burnt his shirt. Don't understand that and didn't understand it over Gerrard.

Mascherano is a piece if she*p we always have love for players who leave this club the right way and I stress the right way nt like torres and this dog hence y xabi still loves the club lfc 4 life.

P.S I believe that we should look at the likes of young and Gibbs who in my opinion would b awesome 4 this club

Not trying to scare monger but. .

Article on SSN website with John Henry regarding the Carroll transfer fee stating we wanted a clear £15m difference between what we sold Torres for and bought Carroll for.

It states "Despite the huge investment in the squad in January, Henry has intimated that he and the other investors will not be pouring money into the club."

Also on Football365 website it has this on a similar Article:

"We've always spent money we've generated rather than deficit-spending and that will be the case in Liverpool, " he said, talking about the way in which his Fenway Sports Group operate the Boston Red Sox baseball team.

"It's up to us to generate enough revenue to be successful over the long term. We have not and will not deviate from that."

So don't expect a net spend of £50m in the summer; we may get approx £20m net spend however it will depend on league finish, clarification of Europe and whether we win Europa league.

- - - - - - - - - - -

Player sales are not the only way of generating money - I expect the wheels are already in motion to drive retail sales around the world as well as increasing sponsorship revenues - that being said Torres will be a loss as he sold more shirts than anyone else - lets hope those people now buy a Suarez / Carroll shirt to boost the coffers for the summer

Just looking at the upcoming fixtures and Andy Carroll's injury lay off. Looks like it could be an Anfield debut against manure.

When Stevie G and Kris Commons both retire, who will have had the more successful career? Kommons will probably win more medals in Scotland than Stevie will has or will in future, so by my reckoning that will be 2-0 to Commons!

Saying that if we get the Money from Aquilani and move a few of the players on (Konchesky, Poulsen, Darby, Insua (not sure if he would be a free to anyone)) and I wouldn't be surprised if we are paying a percentage to players that we've let go on loan (as the loan club can't afford the wages (i.e. Degen) so hopefully this will free some money up as well.

So don't expect 6 or 7 players in unless we sell someone for a big fee or KK decides to sell a number of players.

Hoola

I may be wrong but if the club had been out of debt last summer, we would have cleared over £80million in profit, so we will have money to spend.

{Editor's Note: The money to be made available by NESV was always going to come in the first instance from money generated by the club, which needs to be self-sufficient as we all know. I think if anyone is expecting NESV to throw enormous sums of their own money in to transfers, there will be a long wait ahead. As for the £80M profit, you are a very long way off I am afraid.}

i wouldn't be expecting nesv to spend vast amounts but say we sod a load of playerfor 30 million, i d be expecting them to top up that figure to around fifty million, i m not expecting them to splash money around willy nilly but i do expect them to invest from their own pockets where and when its neccesary

If we could only have one player in summer i would pick james milner from city

adaptable , can play anywhere across midfield
always plays with his head up unlike adam johnson
super crosser of the ball, useful now we have carroll in the team, he s also a fighter and gives his all everygame
not getting his game at city could be temoted by first team football

15 million should do it
i know he s not the most spectacular of players he s not a falir player but he is a very good and solid all rounder who always plays with his head up

i really like him and i think for 15 million he would be a superb addition to our squad

Please Kenny, don't bring Carra back tomorrow, as it would be the worst thing you could do. Carragher is not good enough to be played in a attacking team. He will be exposed for his lack of pace. Before all you Carra, is a rock brigade, start on me, I appreciate everything he as done for the team in the past and truly respect the guy.In my opinion Carragher should now be a regular on the bench and a last 20 minute man when we are under the cosh defending a lead away from home.I would like to see Kenny continue with the high line style of play and carra as never been suited to that style. In istanbul first half he was left for dead a few times, but extra time, when we were under pressure and needed last minute blocks, he was there time and time again. The last 18 mths he as been very average, which brings me back to my point. We have had three shut outs now, so it will be a foolish tactic to make a change. We should go into the game positive and try and win the game, Gerrard, Meireles, Kuyt and Suarez, are more than capable of Scoring. If we are leading and start to come under pressure, with 15 minutes left, a fresh Carragher, would be a match winner. What do you think Ed?

Jiminy Cricket {ed's note - I agree with you I wouldn't bring Carra back either, great as he has been in the past he is no longer a first choice player. Though I would rather have him in the side than Kyrgiakos.}

This talk over Henry and Anfield. He didn't say Anfield would be redeveloped, he just said they were considering it.

Bottom line is this is the 21st Century and NESV/ FSG will make Liverpool self-financing. (consider the remarks regarding the profit of Torres) - they afre not going to be puttinmg their money into the club unless it is for a bigger return. If we want lots of money for transfers then under their business plan and strategy we will need a far bigger revenue.

So personally, unless Anfiled can be developed to 75-80,000 with the potential to build even more than that if needs be, then it's time to move.

Look how much extra revenue the Mancs get because of the capacity of their stadium compared to ours - it's basically an extra decent player every season in cash terms. Once the new financial rules come into play a far bigger stadium is essential to the club's recovery and future growth.

05 Feb 2011 10:56:17

Just Red the John Henry article in the Guardian. Now this is the type of guy we want looking after our club. He's going to make it self reliant, profitable and secure. He doesn't say they won't spend money, what he's saying is he won't spend what the club can't afford. I like the way he went about the transfer business, he knew he had a player who wanted to go, and made sure he'd get what the club wanted out of the deal. Everything is starting to look like we're headed in the right direction. Onwards and Upwards.

Business done on the quiet, back to the Liverpool ways of old! Now we can start to dream and plan for Liverpool being back where it belongs.

El Diablo!

05 Feb 2011 10:50:04
I m a bit concerned about fans who think we ll be going out splashing 60 million on players in the summer
if this window has taught us anything baout our owners its that they are shrewd business operators who don't intend to pump loads of cash into the first team , more change and better it by a financially sound club with any profit made pumped into squad development and the squad tweaking by players sales especially players who have reached their optimum market value and the money reinveted wisely in younger models

i would n t be surprised to see the likes of glen johsnon and lucas sold along wiht skrtel joe cole poulsen aquilani jova and others with any money made used to buy younger skillful replacements with perhaps 20 million invested from the owners added to it

i would think 20 million net investent from the owners is about the maximum you are likely to see invested

still money from player sales johnson 14 million, lucas 10 million, aquilani 12 million skrtel 8 million, jova 4 million poulsen 2 million, joe cole 5 million do add up to a pretty substantial amount

i d personally hope glen johnson and lucas are kept but if good offers come in for them then i d expect them to be sold

in summer i expect commollis behid the scenes work come into its own , with two good young wingers identified dzudsak and dimitri payet for example, possible signing of sahko for centre back, maybe even douglas fc twente
i would expect fullbacks to be signed also but i wouldn't think it will be the likes of coentrao (too expensive)

05 Feb 2011 10:35:05

Just want to point out that liverpool seem to have the best owners ever! everything henry said was positive and re developing anfield is a much better idea.they want young talent and the team to play good football! delighted with the last month of football!

Cant believe anyone can have a go at us for 35m for Andy Carrol. To show what i mean i made a graph

Man U - Sabatein Veron 28+m (Crap)

Chelsea- Andrey Sevchenko 30+m (great player but bought past his best)

Man C Robiniho 32+m (Crap)

And tottenham never had enough money to get a 20+ signing and i don't think Arsenal has either

Re: I believe the Kenny Dalglish will be given the job full time in the summer, and that he will be given major transfer funds to spend.

You can believe what you want but in today's Guardian John Henry criticises Chelski for spending beyong their football rellated income and therefore breaching the financial fair play rules. He also states that if it was not for the FFP rules NESV would never have bought Liverpool. I am sure there will be players brought in over summer, as now we are debt free we are a profitable club - however don't expect half a dozen world class signings - maybe a couple and some promising youngsters.

05 Feb 2011 10:02:49
Which option would you have preferred. Keeping an unhappy torres or getting shut of mumbles and buying carroll and suarez with that ft dosh plus 8m? Exactly. Makes sense.

Randy watson and the anfield redevelopers

05 Feb 2011 10:02:47

Ed. Just read John Henry's interview in The Guardian and very interesting stuff about the Carroll price. seems he wanted to pocket £15m out of the proceeds from Torres and whilst he thinks it is a big price for a player, the thinks Chelski paid top dollar!

Looks like he is going to redevelop Anfield rather than build new, although has not committed to that yet.

Finally he again committed to buying young quality players who have a proven track record during their playing career and doesn't want to sign players who are just going through a lucky streak of form. Shame he wasn't around at start of season as Poulson wouldn't have got a look in. . 30 and out of form just won't cut it with Mr Henry. I think we have a propoer sports fan owning the club now who knows how to get success.

05 Feb 2011 09:57:58
Morning all,

Eds, in relation to the financial fair play rules etc, it depends on revenue etc as to how much you spend is that correct? Was wondering if OUR shirt sponsers, standard charter, the money they pay does that get included into this?

Chris {ed's note - all revenue is included mate.}

This is what should be being sung by the LFC faithful tomorrow! !

His loyalty showed he wasnt a red, Torres, Torres,
to all of us youre as good as dead, Torres, Torres,
you kissed the liver bird on your chest,
then handed in a transfer request
Fernando Torres, money grabbing swine

you claim the biggest move of your life, Torres, Torres
now John Terry is gonna shag your wife, Torres, Torres
we wish you nothing but alot of pain,
and hope you f*ck off back to Sunny Spain,
Fernando Torres, money grabbing swine

Rumour or banter ed. .you decide! ! {ed's note - personally I think it should go in the bin, this is pathetic, he left can we not just get over it and move on?}

Really looking forward to tomorrows game, if we had Carroll up front, I think we would be pushing them all the way, especially away from home.
Feel, after the initial shock of FT wanting to leave (along with sadness and betrayal), i think KK and DC have done us proud. .in three days, they managed to find a very promising attacking combination up top. Suarez' deal was all but tied up, but they had to act quickly to find a replacement and partner for him.
The game v Chelsea. .Hope Kenny and Clarke have something good up thier sleeve (as they did against Stoke. .three centre halves), Steve Clarke should know Chelsea well (but not under Ancellotti).
Need to nullify their front two (FT and Drog), take control of the midfield and get our wingers/ fullbacks pushing their fullbacks back.
I Think Kenny will attack - it seems to be the way he wants to play and so far he's done us proud.
Hope Suarez and Kuyt can develop an understanding, there were glimpses in the Stoke game and they had never played together before.

i think a draw will be a good result, but I'm hopeful of a win. . COYR!

Ed. my attempt at a song for Luiz Suarez
It's sung to an old song called Louie, Louie
so most people won't know it but can be looked up on youtube. Chech it out people and i believe it would be a great song for the Kop to clap to when singing :-)

Oh Luis Luis
Oh yeah now we got a goal,
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
Oh Luis, Luis
Oh, Yeah he just got a goal
Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah

Look our Luis is scoring for free
And our Luis knows how to play
When hes playing he's not alone
Now that Anfield is his home

Oh Luis Luis
Oh yeah now we got a goal,
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
Oh Luis, Luis
Oh, Yeah he just got a goal
Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah

Hi Ed im a Liverpool fan, and like some posts from yesterday evening i believe to get the message across to torres, on sunday and then inspire Liverpool to win against chelsea i truly believe, we should chant torres song really loud then chant andy carroll's new song to inspire us even more what do u think ed?? ? ?

And i would love alexi sanchez on our right wing or left he is mint. do u agree and would u have him in the summer?? ? ?

Ed please answer both of the above^!

What do everyone else think please say! !

Kirkers {ed's note - I fully agree, with, well all your points. Give Torres a verse of his song to thank him for what he did do while he was here, then forget him and cheer on our boys. Fields of Anfield Road, Sweet Carroll 9 etc etc, show everyone just how big of a mistake he made. Oh and I love watching Sanchez play, his control and dribbling remind me of Digger, though he isn't at that level yet. But he is the winger I most want us to sign, just can't see it happening.}

I tell you what guys, I have just had a spot of deja vue. . Didn't a certain Michael Owen leave us for the prospect of Champions League success which lead to him missing out on the fantastic glory of Istanbul. .

Now another 'star' has left us to pursue European success with a different outfit. .

How beautifully ironic will it be if Chelski get knocked out of the Champs league and we go on to win the UEFA cup this season. I will absolutely p##s myself if that happens. .

Lets face it, we know him inside out so lets just keep him nice and quiet on Sunday and please Sky, show us lots of pics of Anelka or Drogba (whoever is on the bench) cos they aint going to be happy bunnies. .

Just a little tip from a United supporter. Top player leave. Ronaldo, Beckham, Cantona, Van Nistleroy etc. As a supporter, you are gutted and think it can only get worse, but things usually gets better.

Do not under estimate Suarez and Carroll. Suarez is class, and Carroll is a bull of a centre forward who is fantastic in the air. I hate to say this, but your forward line is much stronger now, after getting rid of a bloke who didn't want to play for Liverpool for some time.

In my opinion you need a couple of class wide players desperately, and you will be up there.

United/ Liverpool obviously have a fierce rivalry, but I have no problem in saying (no matter what flak you give) that I respect Liverpool above all other clubs, because you are the same as United in terms of heritage, history and passion etc. Thats why we are desperate to beat each other.
Torres has gone to a meaningless club. Whatever they win, there is no acheivement and means nothing, because they are just a rich man's play thing and not a football club. Get over Torres now!

Oh. .and f*****g beat Chelski on Sunday!

Excellent post, even Manure fans can make sense sometimes :)
But it is a good post in it's entirety.
No club avoids having their top players walk out on them - Think Figo to Real Madrid from Barca.
Think Michael Laudrup went from Real to Barca & back to Real again or visa versa!
Ibrahimovic from Inter to Barca then to AC.
It happens to us all - like being hurt by a chick i guess. It hurts for a week or two but as soon as you find your next chick (Suarez & Carroll) you wonder why the hell you ever liked the ex.
Cheers,
Irish Kev.

I agree with all but your first sentence & last sentence Blair. You're dead right!
It's such a disappointing attitude some folk have!
We should be happy with what we have & move on!
Even if we get stuffed 6 - 0 on Sunday!
Move on people!
This is not what LFC is about.
If any shirt burning happens on Sunday i'll be disgusted for one!
Cheers,
Irish Kev.

What people should realise Kev when they are burning the shirts. It's not just the name they are burning on the back, they are also burning the badge on the front. Which for me, is probably the most cardinal sin of them all.

Agreed Blair, agreed!
I mean if fans go down the shirt burning path now where do they draw the line for the next player to leave the club? Burn their national flag or worse?
The like of which will cause all kinds of problems in the future of the club & maybe society generally.
There's enough hate out there as it is. We need to nip this behaviour in the bud now! If people get arrested on Sunday by the law for doing such a thing then it'll serve them right & they should be disowned & alienated by LFC and fellow fans.
Cheers,
Irish Kev.

Hi to all you scousers out there. . (the red half anyway) being a gooner i suppose you'll be saying ''what the ***'' however i come in peace. . first of all i'm pleased you've all got over the 'pain' of FT leaving . . personally i think he's done you a favour! from what i saw of him (mostly on the TV mind you) he seemed to be as interested in doing his stuff for LFC as i would be for the spuds! (thats tottinham for those unaware) i also think that the two replacements will soon have you jumping up and down on your kop . . great signings. .
dont want to sound 'bulls**tty' but i really do believe that liverpool belong up there with the best. . i hope that Torres comes to regret the move he has made. . when i came to anfield on the opening day all i could hear in the pub was the song about . . liverpools number 9. . now hes gone to chelski. . must be for the cash 'cos i think with KD at the helm you'll soon be back to the liverpool of old. . also glad on your behalf that your new owner is thinking of staying at anfield. . there is NO better atmosphere in a football ground than at your place. . also it would be tragic. . i was in tears when we left highbury. (35 yrs of watching since 9 yrs old) and im sure it would break many of your hearts as well. . new grounds are NOT fantastic. . and if it means turning your badge into some kind of 'state of the art' advertising medium that's another thing that hurts the true fan. . (i still wear my old 70's style shirt with the proper cannon) imagine the liver bird redesigned, looking the other way with corporate information in his beak. . yep! you'd be pi55ed off also.
one final thought for you fine people of merseyside. . what the hell is moyes all about. . trying to get cesc sent off for saying ''how much are you paying the ref'' this is the guy who rants and raves at officials, blows his eyeballs out whenever things go wrong and taught a certain mr w.rooney how to be a choirboy, . .NOT. sad thing is he'll get away with it more if he takes over at manure . . always at matches with alex 'i've only had one vodka' ferguson. .
anyway lets hope you stuff chelsea at stamford bridge on sunday and put FT in his place. . then gain enough points to oust the spuds out of any chance of a CL spot!
regards
The Night Doctor. . AFC

Paolo Cesare Maldini (born 26 June 1968 in Milan, Italy) is a former Italian footballer who played as a centre back. He spent all 25 seasons of his career at Serie A club AC Milan, before retiring at the age of 40 in 2009. During that period, Maldini won the Champions League five times, as well as seven Serie A titles, one Coppa Italia, five Supercoppa Italiana, five European Super Cups, two Intercontinental Cups. He played for 14 years for the Italian national team, making his debut in 1988 before retiring in 2002 with 126 caps and four World Cup participations.

Maldini played at a world class level for over 20 years and won the Best Defender trophy at the UEFA Club Football Awards at the age of 39. He was also the AC Milan and Italy captain for many years and was considered a leader amongst leaders by fellow footballers leading to the nickname "Il Capitano" (the Captain)

liverpool should offer maldini a coaching position.

Will everyone leave Torres alone we all pissed he gone and anyone that says there glad he gone are Lyin, he was great for us and give us slot of entertainment I know he didn't go about leaving the best way but these things happen so let's get on with it and let him do the same. And he will always have a place in are hearts no matter what. Thanks nando. The face man

As an ardent red but born in widnes, followed rugby as well, in the 80s we had a winger martin offiah who we sold to our biggest rivals wigan, it hurt and pained at the time, but we played wigan at wembley and offiah played against us but we had a winger john deveraux welsh lad, first tackle he knocked offiah over the hordings and he did nothing after that in the game, lets do same to nando, nothing illegal just let him know hes in a game, no booing or shirt burning, and raise the roof for el pistolero, hes our man now not torres, ynwa

You no what
if pepe wants to leave let him
The last 12 months i'm sick of worrying about if players are commited
Just get some players from lower leagues or the smaller clubs no disrespect coz they can do it ( Adam Cahill) like Liverpool use to who want to play for the club 100% any doubt get shot These lower league players just don't get a chance these days

go get Given Parker Dann Adam Young

Rafa should never have sold Warrnock local lad much better than the italian and insua (10 mill wasted there)

Never have got rid of pennant on a free

sold Rise and Finnan a season too early

and Kenny being back makes us feel like Liverpool again

nice to see players in the box and when we go forward we always look like we might score very refreshing

If people don't want torres on there jersey it can easily be removed using a towel and an iron.just put the towel over the name and press down on towel with hot iron, glue on numbers will heat up and can be peeled off.simple!keep the no 9 and just get carroll on instead, happy days!also reckon we should start the same team on sun as against stoke, with carra in instead of soto.suarez isn't ready for a full game just yet, could win it for us off the bench.what you think eds?

{Editor Note: Certainly more constructive than burning the shirts. There is a "football for Africa" website and the shirts can be sent to Africa for children or adults and getting a Liverpool shirt would mean a heck of a lot to people in Africa. And I would start Suarez personally, I'm so eager for him to get games, but that's just me.}

Great shout Ed the site is called "Afrikit" mate. But i think your wrong about Suarez. For me it's to early as he's only had a few training sessions never mind matches. This would be the reason i wouldn't start him, his overall fitness not his match fitness.

We need 11 fully match fit players to start on Sunday. Unfortunately for me mate that dosn't include Suarez. But he will be used, winning or losing.

Blair Mayne YNWA

PS. For those who want to burn or get rid of their shirts. Check out the site Afrikit.com and you'll find a better use for your shirt.

I'd like to add my two pence worth to this whole Torres situation if I may. I think the best way to handle it is to show him what hes left behind. Liverpool are known as having the best supporters in the business. And we became the best supporters by supporting OUR team and OUR players through thick and thin. Torres is no longer a LFC player so I don't care about him or what he does. The best thing we can do is forget about him, Ignore him, And sing our hearts out in support of SG and all of OUR other players on the pitch.

We got the better deal out of this, Carrol and Suarez for Torres is a no brainer. He'll live to regret this move, of that I am sure. Lets compound that regret on sunday by taking the three points, and drowning out the Chelski fans for 90mins from the stands. For me that will be the ultimate parting gift to our Ex player

05 Feb 2011 00:00:00
Fully agree with the comments regarding shirt burning.

Every Liverpool shirt carries the famous LFC crest and to burn the shirt is to disrespect everything we stand for.

If you burn the shirt, you burn your bridges with the club and you can never be classified as a true LFC supporter.

We do not need supporters who desecrate a Liverpool shirt.

Lets move on from the events of 31 Jan and get behind the team for Sunday, they need our support!

We will have at least one advantage against Chelsea on Sunday. . .STEVE CLARKE

He knows some of the Chelsea players inside out, and will have told KK the ins/ outs of certain players. .

2-1 to Liverpool with Toserr being marked out of the game by Skrtel.

that a great idea ed, i was just thinking about people who bought the new jersey and can't afford to get a new one for them and there kids.i have 3 jerseys with himself on the back so gonna change the latest one.i'd love to see him start but fear we won't have anyone to change the game if we need it.

Either Mascherano has a warped and very bad memory or he is just an imbecile. In an interview he claims that the club didn't do enough to try and keep him. Has the clown forgotten that he refused to play for us? Did he not also state the reason that he wants to leave was that his family couldn't settle in this country, how could LFC do anything about that. Didn't he also turn down the offer of a new contract. The guy is a moron, and i'm glad he is experiencing solely from the bench

04 Feb 2011 23:45:36

If we burn our shirts its disrespectful to all of our players as it would make them think we are a one man team. Our new strikers will score more goals than Torres. Rauls scoring, Stevie G will. This year finish 5th and next year we will be competing properly. Faith in KK.
