EDS any latest on mata ? {Ed028's Note - Nothing concrete}

Hi Eds, I just wanna know how many eds are there really?
Ed002 seems to have no day job as he responds to most queries
Just kidding ok:-)
A few times, I see Ed001, Ed005, Ed009 and most recently Ed028 replying
What about the rest of the editors? What are they doing?

Also, I have been a regular visitor of this site for the past few years and would like to see one of the editors giving us some solid info regarding transfers instead of waiting for Macca's posts.

Keep up the good work.

I cannot understand all this negativity over the possible signing of Downing. He may not be the world class player that many on here would like to see but he will give us something we haven't had since Reira and that is balance within the team. I know some people didn't like Reira and I know he fell out with Rafa after some out of place comments but we played some of our best football and had some of our best results when he was in the side. I would like to see Downing or N'Zogbia as either would give us the same balance.

we have had £15mill bid rejected so now be another week b4 we make a new bid haha maybe 2-3 weeks way we been moving in this window, , , then that will probably be rejected and be another week or 2 till another bid then we have wasted all that time on 1 player that we miss out on whole load of players needed

05 Jul 2011 23:43:40
i reckon liverpool are most likey to sign

adam
doni
downing
mata

what do you think ed

05 Jul 2011 23:41:49
you have got to expect they'd turn down 15 mill he's
got 2 years on his contract and voted better than his counterpart (young) who had 1 year left and went for a million more pluss he's younger as well i think, 18-19 maybe we'd have to pay and i think we should thats
what any club who wanted him would have to pay so were not getting ripped of.

Oh man another target missed J r mie Aliadi re signed for FC Lorient, come on Damien Comolli pull your finger out hahaha.
People need to remember this time last year the cowboys were still in charge and Roy Hodgson was just appointed manager, where as now the club are busy in the transfer market and heading into a new season under Kenny Dalglish.
For me if we can sign a solid left back, ideally Aly Cissokho but that might just be fantasy football. One of Mata, Johnson or Vargas for the wing as well as Downing. And Moussa Sissoko for midfield, i think the team would be more than capable of getting back into the champions league.

always a red

05 Jul 2011 23:15:47
On the subject of signing both Mata and Downing it would make sense even though both or naturally left wingers with downing normally playing on the right.

If either were injured then the other could play on the left with Henderson or kuyt slotting in on the right.

Just heard that Aston Villa are really taking the piss and trying to take Liverpool for all they can. Apparently they are holidng out for £20M & Ngog ... If that is what we have to do to get a decent winger then god knows what we are going to have to pay in order to get some real top class players in
Hope Liverpool don't turn in to a club that gets ripped off all the time. However, it looks like that's the way it's going; Carroll (35M), Hendo(16.5M) and now potentially paying over the odds for Downing ... Not great businnes is it ?

Hi Eds and Reds
I love the sight , v addictive, but there is one thing that really piss#s me off is the amount of anonymous keyboard warriors. Just a suggestion Eds, I know making it a membership thing is a no go , but maybe if you could make it a rule that not unsigned posts will be published. If people are gonna come on here criticise Eds, posters or make stupid unfounded comments at least have the cohonas to sign off to it

I'm not sure about all the doom and gloom in some of you reds fans. Cast your minds back 9 months...In the bottom 3, led by a man who didn't realize how big Liverpool Football club is, owned by two dirty c**** that attempted (and nearly succeeded) in dragging a giant to his kneed. Here we are not a year later, a team that ended last season second to only the champions in form, led by the man that understands and loves this club to its core and every fibre and owned by an experienced and clearly competent in business multi national sports group.
People are moaning about the lack of spending, we spent money in January that WASN'T the money from the Torres sale. I'm not sure either about the possibilities of Downing and co. But the decisions being made are at least deeply considered and we have to have trust. If anyone we have to trust it's Kenny. Progress is a slow process. Short term progress such As Manc s**tty will implode, trust me. In a year we have progressed and evolved so much; We will get top 4 this year...that should be the aim, I think it's unrealistic to think we can win the title next year, but with Kenny in charge and players like Suarez we will be at the top again. ED thoughts would be appreciated.
A {Ed009's Note - nothing to add to what you've said - people are ridiculously quick to forget.}

The thing i love about this site is that we are goin to buy him for £35m and him for £22m. I really can, t see us paying massive money on one player anymore. We are not Man City or Chelsea. Firstly we have to trim that wage bill with players who aren, t gonna kick a ball next season, Jocanvic ( sorry spelling) konchesky etc. Secondly we ain, t gonna get superstars in with no Europe to play in, so we have to hope we can pip Arsenal and Spurs to fourth place, with what we got and a couple of decent buys, sorry to be negative but it, s reallity, we can, t compete with Man City, Utd, and Chelsea. But keep wishing.

15 million bid for stewart downing Do u think we'll still b interested in mata now ed if we sign downing? I knw mata can play on the right wing? I think we may have dodged a bullet with Marveaux. Liverpool have recently had a bad experiance with buying Injury prone players who wanted a lot of wages on a free, *cough* *cough* Joe Cole -Mc

im sick of people moaning about lack of signings, the squad we have is decent but lacked belief early last season.

05 Jul 2011 22:27:05
ed, could u please help me and explain all these sissoke rumours. im a bit confused as some are saying sissoko for centre mid another sissokko for left bak and we also recently had a player named sissoko its a bit confusing

great side always on jamesc {Ed009's Note - Momo Sissoko is the player who formally played for Liverpool and is now of Juventus. Aly is a left back for Lyon, who is a fantastic player. Moussa is also a very good player, and currently plays for Toulouse. He is currently of interest to Liverpool.}

He cost us big time with that own goal against Chelski.Carra didn't like him breaking into his Stevie time either.And if Carra doesn't like you your done for .The team his quickly becoming Carrapool.I am getting fed up of this Carra Carra Carra Carp.Fact is he wouldn't get in to his beloved Everton team.

I have it on good authority that Henderson will be the only signing this window. All the talk of Adam, Mata, Downing and the rest will not and I repeat not happen.

Folks let's get used to what we've got and get behind them. We were 2nd in the form guide for the 2nd half of the season after all. We have to believe in the King.

Hi Ed(s), great site

"If the club receives an offer and decides to sell me, that is another situation. Until then I am happy here."

These are the supposed words of Marko Marin a little while back. I still think we can get him off Werder if we make them an offer they can't refuse (no horse heads). He is absolutely quality, we should have signed him off Borussia M nchengladbach. An excellent player who fits our transfer policy well.

05 Jul 2011 22:00:32
According to the times, we have had a 15mp bid for downing rejected. IMO I think we could spend that money wisely. We should get park chu-young and kesiuke Honda both better players for that price.

05 Jul 2011 21:57:41
i think we all have to be realistic on who were going to sign, were rebuilding and also not in europe.john henry has already said he will not pay big wages and silly money for players

just read through all of todays posts and in a nutshell i think i speak for the majority when i say this..... we was all under the impression that there was going to be alot of the dead wood going and at least 7-11 players coming in with the same amount leaving ( well that was the rumours everyone was bangin on about) but because theres been very little activity on the transfer front i think we all feel let down up to now your comment before ed was classic about us already bringing 3 players in i know u love the club m8 like we all do but sometimes u got to look outside the box we have signed 1 squad player and 2 youth lads? have we not? all of us supporters and fans are wanting to see LB, RW, LW and another ST at least but as a said in my previous posts.... its ok to spend 35 million on a proven forward (andy carroll) but we can argue over spendin 10 mil for Adam? dosent make sense? if anything even if adam came for 10 mil an stayed for 3 years u would double your money on him if not more in the future because i think he would be a great addition to the squad and playing for such a high profile club as LFC that will be going places again soon only good things can happen in my opinion we are missing out on sooo many quality players latley because we aint putting the wonga forward lets face it, no one wants to be held to randsome but if your wanting to sign a player and your dragging the price out especially when it is a low price. how does that then make the player feel that is moving to ur club? anyways av ranted for a bit now lol... in a nut shell we feel let down thankyou and goodnight :)

For the eds and fellow readers.

We will not sign aguero full stop.

But not for the reason we can't afford him or his wages that's ridiculous.

Manny Ramirez of the red sox scrapes $20 million a year

Thats £12.4 million a year sterling or

£234k a week or

£34k a day or

£1419k an hour

So when you say we cant afford him, I assure you we can.

On a transfer note Ed's all quite to be fair nothing strong enough to post.

MATA, AGUERO and BAINES all agreed to come to Liverpool although DC not sure if they are obscure enough for us, he likes to try and sign players with a french name that nowbody has heard of, sorry for my sarcasm but just starting to get frustrated with no action

Evening lads.

Just had a thought. I was thinking about all the impatient/doom and gloom posters, and I thought about the impact the king had on the team after he became our manager again. I can't believe it was with the same players that gave us all a woefull start to our season.

I'm not bothered whether people think I'm wrong, but the right manager can make an average looking team look top draw when he gives them the confidence and belief, along with savy man management. Even without your Hollywood signings, I think we'll be a force this coming season.

Not that I don't think we'll make a few signings that make us happy, I'm saying is that if we don't make the signings everyone is hoping for then I'm still looking forward to 11/12 more confident than I've been for a good while because the king will get 100% out of what we've got.

Good times are coming, but don't expect it to be over night. Have a bit of patience lads because it was always going to be a slower process. Steady improvement is what we should expect. (hopefully we qualify for the Champions League)

Raheem Sterling can fill the 'reserve' striker void -from what I've seen he is good enough . Forget age - Rooney , Gazza , even the great Pele all 16 yr olds who played at highest level . Michael Owen was only slightly older when he debued .

If we don't give the youngsters chances they will leave or probably more likely and unfairly simply lose faith and become dustman or something worse

05 Jul 2011 20:59:29
it baffles me why folks on here ask for ratings out of ten who will sign or has macca got anythin to run with ...if the truth be known ed , i had a good source but it is like getting blood out of a stone these days we will have to patient and see what comes out in the wash , earley days in the market , so stop panicking folks kk will bring in what he sees fit for our great club .

05 Jul 2011 20:44:42
why liverpool havent bought clichey, wickham, marveux

liverpool would of had clichey but could not match citys wages, wickham was to expensive for an 18 yrs old, marveux wanted to long of deal nufc came in and offered what he wanted, injury prone hence we did not budge, keeping our wage bill under control

adam deal only likely if price is right, lfc waiting making oyston sweat for bit

downing cost to much

mata I'm assuming a waiting game as he decides

remember lfc were never linked with henderson, no one knew we were interested in him until we bid for.
lfc keeping things quiete

also i don't think joe cole is leaving, i also think deals will start happening closer to transfer window

Eds, All this augero talk really has me thinking. Wages are a sticking point granted but the lad only needs to see what a move to afield done for mister torres we have had good dealings with athletico before he will not have to look to far for kop references ie, rodriguez mascherano. I think liver pools starting lineup v Sunderland
Rieana
Kelly carragher agger Enrique
Lennon gerrard downing
Aguero carroll Suarez

Subs flannaghan kuyt skrtel Henderson Lucas

I personally think we need a LB asap Enrique , drenthe or baines forget these forwards yes a winger mata would be great a Johnston or maybe nzogbia I don't want downing he is overrated Right wing we are ok on that front Glen Johnson will play there or kuyt or even Henderson. Sign adam get rid of the deadwood in player plus cash deals and it will make our squad strong enough to compete at the top just remember we didnt have gerrard last half of the season the best midfielder in the EPL and no left back Carrol only played a handful of games so he never got to gel with the team. We are fussing over nothing kk knows what he is doing have faith

in many respects when a team underachieve's such as liverpool have in the last season or so it's easy for the manager, or anyone, to identify the weak links. The only other issue is financing and the pull both of which we have so in conclusion; everyone chill the f*** out, the right players will come Have a little faith, i promise next season will give us all plenty of reason to cheer.

05 Jul 2011 20:13:49
Rumours have had us signing enrique from newcastle for ages, everyone was quoting done deal however we still have not signed him my worry is that presumably we have had him scouted many times last year, appeared to want him and then it goes cold and we are rumoured to want every other left back in europe. if we want enriques for gods sake go and sign him, we now have arsenal interested, this after m city getting clichy. why dont we go for a holding player for a year or so, say riise? if aurellio was regularly fit we wouldnt need anyone. it amazes me why if we want someone we dont make an offer if rejected walk away but dont sting it out, with this indecision we must have doubts about enriques ability. if arsenal decide to sign enrique then we should go for gibbs at arsenal, he would fit the mould young and english.

Ed on your response to aguero before actually the information is from the main itk on twittter who is tommo you was able to announce all of fixtures hours before and gets all the teams right the day before. Also keller on the official forum hardly ever posts but he has said we want aguero and whenever he has posted transfer info he has been right. So the sources of these comments are not koptalk but actually very reliable people. I know it is unlikely but i think people just assume we can't bring in top players when actually we are in the top5 biggest clubs in the world. {Ed002's Note - So how much did he tell you that Liverpool bid for Aguero on Twitter?}

Its seems Commoli cant do right for doing wrong. Fans complain when teams hijack our so called targets and gets the blame for that. And now its seems he's a lazy t**t because he tried to steal City's new signing away and cant find his own targets sigh I know he's like the marmite man amongst us fans but please Judge him and K.K when the window shuts and were we are in the table when it does. After hearing some fans moan about over paying for Carroll which was obvious but we needed to replace Torres and he will develop into an goal scoring monster with a top class signing. And Henderson who i think in a couple of seasons max will be seem as money well spent and glad we got him when we did.But when it comes to Adam he's a tight t**t who wont pay whats required. I really belive that we will be in for a shock in a good way by the time the window shut and the squad we'll have will be top echelon when it does. Jonson6

Ed I have a question.

{Ed001's Note - we have brought in 3 players already and a coach, what are you on about? The window closes on August 31st you do realise that right?}

Just seen this in the questions section. Who are the 3 players? One is Henderson but who are the other two? And we have brought in 2 coaches/backroom staff; Kevin Keen and that operations director.

Harry The Red {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers.}

05 Jul 2011 19:55:25
I think this forum is falling in two sections:
1. Why are we not buying every player the media say LFC are interested in and because of this Comolli is clueless.
2. Have faith in KK and Comolli as it is all being handled professionally behind closed doorand have faith in KK as past record shows he knows what he is doing.So far KK and Comolli have done good job in my eyes: Suarez, Carroll, Henderson and not forget promoting youth.

Roy Hodgson would probably fall in to section 1; we now get lots of posts saying we are in trouble because we can not get rid of deadwood and the wages are crippling club. My point is the players that we bring in have got to be right no more big mistakes in transfer market or this club will never challenge. I am glad we did not get Maveraux (sick note) as I guess he would be added the long list of deadwood at our greaclub.

Expectation due to kk reviving our second half of the season performances which nearly got us into europe has all lfc fans looking forward to the next season with massive hope. frustration at this point in time though i believe is valid, no doubt i will get lots of replies saying I am not a real supporter and trust in kk etc etc but in rafa style look at the facts
people talk about buying big in january with carroll and suarez. i completely agree and suarez has prved what a world class signing he is, however they were not bought with new money we bought them both by selling torres and babel. therefore the owners have not spent any real new money so the talk in the press that liverpool will spend big hasnt materialised. we have signed a very good english prospect for approx 16m, the same price scum have signed an established international in young, someone we were reported to be after also. more signings recently clichy and wickham have not come to anfield whether we really wanted them we dont know however rumours suggest we did. finally we appear to definately want adam and downing not what i would call top top signings but extremely good premiership players comin off their best ever season, the problem we dont seem to be able to do a deal, we reportedly are arguing over a difference of approx 3m in valuation on each deal.
thereofore if we are serious about getting back and challenging for the premiership we need to get out their splash the cash and ensure we get the players we want, if we pay a little over the odds so what, man city, scum, chelsea do all the time, it tends to ensure you win trophies.
therefore until this happens all the optimism and euphora around the owners and kk may prove to be yet again a false dawn. I hope not but people cannot just keep saying trust in kk we all need to see some action, it is not wrong or inappropriate to challenge or doubt what kk does.

will there be anymore new faces. i cant see the current team starting as we finished off last season the whole team needs a massive shake up and the club needs to start pushing hard on transfers all i read is liverpool target signs for someone elsse

Dear Eds,

Do you have any news linking us with Simon Kjaer? According to latest news he had fallen out with his manager at Wolfsburg and could be available for around 10m. He has stated before that he is a true LFC fan and would love an Anfield move. So what do you reckon? I think he would be a great pair with Skrtel or Agger(both of them Danish).

-Melwood Janitor {Ed002's Note - No one gets on with Magath. No links to Liverpool and my notes say Roma or possibly a longer stay in Germany with another side.}

Skrtel is Slovakian not Danish....i question your sources

{Ed002's Note - He was talking about Kjaer and Agger. He also did not mention sources, just asked a pretty sensible question. Did you read the whole post or just a few words here and there?}

Hi eds and Reds,
Why people slags our New owners even though they do some wonders with in a short space of time. They Saved the Club from Gillette and Hicks and make us Debt free. And, they get rid of Torres and Roy Hodgson for the Club. And they Pleased us with the appointment of King Kenny and Steve Clarke. And, they spent well enough in January on Suarez and Caroll which i personally thinks a huge step Forward. And, they show good intentions for the better Future of the Club. And mainly they saved us from 9-pt deduction.
For the people who moans about Jordan Henderson transfer, why should you Worry about the Transfer fee paid for him? The owners have paid the Transfer fees and i sure that they release the Payment after they assured about the Value of the Player. They are not Shieks or Abiramovich to spent crazy in transfer fees.
I also accept the fact the had paid over the odds for Andy Caroll which was a desperate buy in Winter transfer window. I rather have proven primier league player than foreign players.
And, the squad we currently have can bring us champions League spot. And, all we need is a half season fit Steven Gerrard and a good start to the Season. This will bring up champions League football next season. I think our team is blended well enough to make a step forward. And, i want to have a left sided player who can cross the Ball.

Ed's I know it's not football related but I've gotta say I'm disgusted what the News of the World have been doing with this hacking scandal(milly dowler, soham school girls cases in particular) I think we should start a boycott against it like we did with the s@n who better to protest than our great fans I don't buy the news of the world but I know reds fans that do not every1 understands tha it's basically the same paper(company atleast) sorry to waffle on but do u think this would be possible?

All this talk about, smokescreens, waiting to clear the wage bill, other teams stole our signings etc.You gotta love the imagination of people.We are of to asia( gerrard won't be going still injured) at the weekend no-one will be signed and when we come back only the crap no-one else wants will be left.We talk about doing things the old liverpool way, well there was no Commoli types in the old liverpool way.Kk does not even want him he is forced on him.As long as he is involved the title dreams will go on.

------------------------------------------------

I agree, the so called 'Liverpool way' is a load of nonsense, it was straight forward in the 70's and 80's, LFC just bought a like for like player as and when required (Dalglish/ Keegan, Souness/ Mcmahon and so on), similar to what Man Utd are doing now as they are in the privilaged position of having the successful winning formula during the noughties and post millenium.

This business about Henderson being a surprise in the Liverpool way is nothing but eye wash. He has been brought in to follow in Stevies footsteps as their is big concern over his groin injury and the imminent parting with Mereiles.

Without a shadow of doubt, come the end of this transfer window the balance sheet will illustrate a net spend of zero. So if LFc can't shift the 'deadwood' (for want of a better word), there won't be any more signings.

The priority has been in ensuring the correct coaching staff to bring out the best in the players we have and filter some of the emerging youth such as Morgan, Sterling, Coady etc into the first team over the course of the next two seasons.

i have it on good authority that park chu-young is ready to join liverpools revolution. I was informed 2 hours prior of the announcement on talksport and honestly thought it was a load of tosh.... but look where we are now.

As well as this i am fairly confident that there is goin to be a 'marquee' (as people would call it) signing... i cant quote any names because they would simply be guess work but ive been told that the overall cost of the transfer (including wages for the duration of the contract) could rise over 50million... make your own assumptions up?

We are also playing hardball regarding downing and adam as we dont want to overpay. I do still expect them to sign but this could roll on till august..... we will just hav to wait and see. will post when i get any more news....

Ed, does it not seem odd to you that suddenly Sky Sports news suddenly decides we are going to try to steal a Savic away from what is effectively the richest club in the World. We can never compete with salaries on offer at Maine Road so why would we try to do at the last minute? citeh could just offer more and Champions league football to the Player.

Reckon these rumours are just a way to get money out of punters through Skybet. My guess the odds for Savic to Liverpool were particularly attractive and a load of mugs went and threw down a bunch of money on what was effectively a three legged donkey.

the same thing happened whe n SSN reported that Luca Modric was having show down talks with Levy this morning. only for the Associated Press to report that Modric was on holiday and was not back until Thursday. after that nothing from SSN. They were probably trying to get punters to bet on Modric to Chelsea or United.

Is this not illegal. effectively SSN are making up stories to get punters to place money on unrealistic transfers? iS it not the equivalent of insider trading?

I think Liverpool is targeted more thanmost (Ribery, Wickham, etc.) because our fans are becoming overly desperate for transfers and success. this can be read on this site daily as so called fans lose believe because we have not bought 10 new players already. i think they are playing on this gullability? what do you think Ed?

Orrin {Ed002's Note - I really don't know but they would be in a great deal of trouble if they were doing such things deliberately.}

05 Jul 2011 18:49:48
Hey eds, is it true that we should be expecting a new signing sooner rather than later (say within 48 hours) or is this just hopeful wishing

buster {Ed002's Note - I really don't know, so I shall say "yes". Nailed on within 48 hours.}

05 Jul 2011 18:34:03
As we all know chelsea had offered 40m+ sturridge for torres . now i feel we should've accepted it coz i feel sturridge is a better player than Carroll (i bet he wont score 12+ goals this season) n even he looks like an odd figure to me perhaps unadjustable to kk style of play. then we would've had 40m now then we could bid for Bale. Gerrard, bale, kuyt, suarez and sturridge would tear any team apart.

Eds, by august 31st who do yous think will sign and who will be shown the door just an outlook on what yous think ?

Dear Burmeister

Regarding your long-winded moan about all things wrong with LFC's transfer capabilities, i'd just like to say that I too read that drivvel in the metro and sky sports, but unlike you i didnt feel it was factual information

the unfortunate thing about supporters like you isnt the fact you believe everything you read in papers or s**te online forums, but its the fact that you feel the need to post your own opinions on something so insignificant

i wonder if man united supporters start questioning management when they lose out on a transfer target to barca or real madrid? maybe you should support barca for the time being, until liverpool are on top again

For anyone getting all hot and bothered about Park Chu Young...I've just had a look around the French newspapers and sports sites, and I haven't seen a single mention of LFC as a possible suitor. The main contenders appear to be PSG, AC Milan, Lille, and Schalke.

Of course the lack of mention in the French press isn't really all that much more informative than an article in Talksht, but it's worth knowing that the latter is the only place saying anything about this "come and get me" plea. And frankly, if PSG are in, then we'd only have a chance at him if the Talkshte story is indeed true...because PSG can easily say "take what LFC offered you and double it."

05 Jul 2011 17:29:33
The way things are going, it won't be long before we hear Reina putting in a transfer request (just like Nando did in January) coz of the lack of transfer activity and ambition overall.with the current squad, Lfc will struggle to even make it to the 5th position(Europa league). Only then will Lfc wake up and buy players for rubbish sum of money.

Darby - Kyrgiakos - Mavinga - Konchesky
Poulsen

N'Gog - Jovanovic

£14million & 11 wage bills cleared up = Two £20million players ........ this should be our priority.

I would urge people to go on the macca page where he replied to some one called "bob the red" and what he wropte, bob i hope you see this and you can no that your not alone and i 100% completely agreed with everything you said

I posted a month ago about liverpool scouting filippo boniperti, yanis tafer and daniel villalva. Bids are expected to be submitted for all three starlets after ngog is sold.

That could be some time off at the moment. Ngog doesn't seem to be going anywhere at the moment now that the Sunderland move seems to have gone cold. Hope someone comes in for him soon though.

05 Jul 2011 16:53:30
Don't expect to see much transfer activity, its not going to happen, if some of the deadwood go out and £10 mill comes in then a player may be brought in for £10 mill. The Henderson deal wasn't done in the so called Liverpool way behind closed doors, cloak and dagger, he was earmarked as a replacement for Gerrard due to increasing concerns within the club about his groin injury and his potential influence during the future twighlight years of his playing career.

05 Jul 2011 16:52:51
There'll be only targets in this window it seems and we'll be linked with all the players on the planet but as usual nothing cropping up. or may be we should wait for the last week of the transfer window for things to happen and those responsible for transfers at Lfc to wake up at last.just like in January. anyway, traditions remain and Lfc are abiding to it.

05 Jul 2011 16:52:31
It's becoming more and more depressing Eds...our so called (I say so called cause nobody from the club has made a bid or anything) targets are being taken up by other clubs...Clichy would've been class...what's commolli doing, I thought being french he had clout with french players...I sincerely hope he's not the waste of time spurs fans say he is...

very worried Redtam in London {Ed001's Note - Clichy would have been class in what way? Constantly out of position, unable to cross the ball, weak in the tackle, help me out I am struggling to figure out how he would have been class.}

05 Jul 2011 14:06:39 ED, Any chance Liverpool have any nterest in MARCELO off Real Madrid now it appears that they have sign Fabio Coentrao {Ed002's Note - I really do not see it happening, sorry. really do not see it happening, sorry. I don't expect Marcelo will be sold this year.}
----------

The signing of coentrao will mean both marcelo and coentrao will play lw an lb at same time switching and covering for each other and ronaldo will move from lwf to ss with higuain playing up front as main striker. Marcelo won't be leaving

How do you know he doesn't want to play for the club ? He has never stated at that If everyone was telling him he was a flop (which he wasn't) he's gonna want to leave if he's given some games in pre-season and Dalgleish speaks with him he will stay and become a important player for us. {Ed009's Note - his agent has consistently offered the player's services to basically every Italian team, in a desperation to have him playing anywhere else next season. Perhaps he has changed his mind as we all can, but I can't see it.}

His agent's looking to see if he'll get first-team opportunities elsewhere. But I think he'll be happy to stay and fight for his place if it comes to that, he just doesn't think he'll get many chances here

05 Jul 2011 16:27:32
Hi ed,

Was just wondering what were the remarks that Bale and/or Lennon made against Liverpool? I can't seem to find anything remotely linked to this.

These owners repeatedly over pay to get the players they want for the Red Sox. Try not to be worried about the haggling, I don't think it means we're skint or unwilling to go the extra million to get a piece that everyone thinks will fit. None of us have ever been in a negotiation for a player so we really have no idea what's holding this thing up.

05 Jul 2011 16:18:42
Yesterday there was a story floating around that Javanovic is a free agent and would leave without compensation.

Today skysports reported that Javanovic got the paper and read that LFC have told him he is free to look for another club.

Am I the only fan that doesn't see Downing and Adam as bad signings. I like everybody else would love to see the likes of Mata at the club but feel we can ill afford another poor season in the premiership which would see us fall even further away from the top four. Can we afford to spend the budget on a young player like mata who took time to settle at valencia and could take a season or two to get used to English football. The likes of Downing and Adam may not be stella signings but I was 15 when we last one the title and they are alot better than some of the sh** I've seen brought into the club since then.

It is going to take time before we compete with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid and players like Adam and Downing are good stepping stones. We can start thinking about marquee signings next season when we are back in the CL.

Big J

P.S. Reliable source tells me Neymar to sign for £45m

Hi Eds great site.
Just an observation.
Clever from KK & DC we show an interest in £7m rated Clichy and then let him go to city so we can now negotiate a good price for £15m rated enrique we can now say we think he is only worth the same as clichy as they are both in the last year of their contracts. My point is that KK & Dc know what they are at and sometimes things take a bit longer to get a better price.
What you think Ed's?
Gavlar {Ed009's Note - whilst that may be a little simplistic I think it is fair to say our 'hardball' tactics with targets will definitely pay off in the long run.}

05 Jul 2011 15:29:55
Anyone else starting to think, if we did sign connor wickham everybody would moan about the price and weve been ripped off. But because we didnt sign him people are moaning saying commolli is stalling.

Its the same with henderson, but we did sign him and we moaned, if he would have gone to man utd or chelsea for a couple of million more, most people on here would have blamed commolli saying we should have paid more

Its clear we are not going to please all the people on this site all the time, i personally am happy we arent being held to ransom and are looking out for the long term future of the club, and i am sure everyone on here agrees that there will be more signings for sure coming to the club, they may not be your first choice, you may think their over priced, but its down to kenny and commolli and i trust them BOTH.

were a million miles from where we were last year when we signed konchesky, jovanovic, joe cole and poulson and were being dragged through the courts with ownership issues, so rest assured we are heading in the right direction. Weve waited 20 odd years for a title, we may have to wait a little longer but at least we are heading in the right direction now.

to whoever reply to my post earlier do you think that if we bid 25million for bale we will get him as you said his worth half of the 50millions i said we would bid.if rednapp dont want to sell modric for 22million you think we would get bale for 25millions or 50million.i said we would test them with 50millions to start with and see.so you can comme up with your adam and downing rumour which is not gonna happen and thats a fact.as those player wont give you anything in return in 4 5 years so use your head.agree or disagree

I can help being abit concerned by liverpool miss out on players witch they were defo in for . Take wickham going to Sunderland how are Sunderland able to offer a better deal than lfc if it was down to cost than I'm really worry 8 million for young English talent is cheap look at millner, Theo, bale I thing I'm rite in saying that the first fees paid for these players was between 6 and 10 million it's no use sticking to the fair play rules if no body else is. I was under the impression that the new rules would leave lfc well place to compete ? Love your thoughts eds...macca I know it's early days but there's a real lack of talent out there and they are getting shorter by the week {Ed002's Note - The advantage that Sunderland had with the well known matter of being able to offer regular first team football - and there is obviously no way Liverpool could do that.}

Only need a couple more:

Doni - £2million
Dann - £11million
Izaguirre - £8million
Carzola - £20million
Mata - £22million

First Team:

------------------ Reina ------------------
Johnson - Carragher - Agger - Izaguirre
------------ Gerrard - Lucas -------------
----- Carzola ---- Suarez ---- Mata -----
------------------ Carroll -----------------

Second Team:

Doni
Kelly - Dann - Skrtel - Aurelio
Aquilani - Spearing
Henderson - Meireles - Maxi
Kuyt

Reserves:

Hansen
Flanagan - Ayala - Wilson - Robinson
Shelvey - Coady
Sterling - Suso - Silva
Pacheco

The hardest part will be getting Jones, Konchesky, Soto, Cole, Poulsen, N'Gog, Jovanovic, Degen, Insua & El Zhar off the books

05 Jul 2011 14:17:58
I cant understand the mass out cry for Gary Cahill, even with Owen Coyle in charge he still boots its up to the forwards. When Carra does this he gets slammed for it. For me Scott Dann is a much better player and if his injury clears up alright i wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool made a bit for him.

always a red

05 Jul 2011 14:13:52
I've been looking at stats comparing Downing and N'Zogbia and it's very interesting. Over the last 3 seasons:

Downing -
Played 63
Scored 9
Assists 8

N'Zogbia -
Played 83
Scored 15
Asssists 11

This means over 3 seasons N'Zogbia is playing more matches and has more impressive stats. Add this to the fact that he's 3 years younger than Downing and it seems that he's the player FSG would go for. No source for this, just my opinion, but watch this space.

05 Jul 2011 14:11:54
ed all this horse about mata and aguero and downing is doing my head in it sadins me to say we're not a big enough draw for them kind of players any more NO champions league no uefa cup to offer so instead of throwing mad money at downing who's s**te or aguero who's an argie (drivin by money and money alone) why not look to the youths raheem streling spelling is better than downing and mata the boy is going to be world class he's nearly 17 just about the same age as fowler owen when they broke in to first team it might save us 40 millon on a over paid winger who will cry off home after one year

05 Jul 2011 14:11:13
I did state that that was my opinion. It may not be a good one, but still MY OPINION. Wow... Whats happening to liverpool fans? Are we supposed to be this rude towards each other? Lets rather change our great clubs name to closet united fc.

I watched the England game last night, Sterling looks like he's going to be another Ryan Babel in the making. He has all the attributes but he's a empty head. He will need a lot of coaching if he is going to live up to his reputation.

Nicolas Lodeiro had a good game last night for Uruguay, him & Suarez linked up pretty well together. Think he plays for Ajax. Not saying we should sign him just stating that he had a good game

Barry B {Ed028's Note - Sterling is still young, there's plenty of time for him to develop.}

So according to all you lot, United are skint and in so much debt we have no money to spend Well £50M later and we are still looking at other players, whilst you are haggling over a couple of million for Adam....who hasn't go any money?? and dont start bleating about value in the market, you spent £16M on Henderson and £35M on Carroll.

I believe Liverpool need to bring out the big guns and be aggressive in the market by showing more ambition in transfers and it may bring more toil also. A good start would be Enrique, Turan and Dann. Love the sight ed's, check it every hour from Aus, many thanks

Joe Cole will go on a season long loan, with a 50-50 wage split to Glasgow Rangers, he wants champions league football, says he is not happy with Liverpools lack of ambition in the transfer market.
-----------------------
Yes, 75m spent on Henderson, Carroll and Suarez. Awful business that is. Not to mention that Cole can't even get into our starting 11. If Cole leaves he won't go out on loan. He'd want to go back to London.

I know i'll probably get shot down for this but with Owen Coyle telling clubs to put up or shut up re no clubs bidding for 17 mil pound rated by Bolton's, Gary Cahill. If that quote if true, looks like he's already got the Cahill money spent and i think he's trying to encourage a bid from someone.Personally i think he's a better all pound player then Dann, with more top flight experience and we should bid a bid of 15 mil in for him. Only my opinion but i think people have been rooting for Dann to sign because they thought Cahill was on his way down south and looked like we had no chance of signing him, but with Dann's price seem to be going up and up i'd give him a wide berth for now. I know Sahko would be 99% of fans first choice centre back including mine, but i dont if we cant get him, go for Cahill. Jonson6

so we have still only signed 1 player in our 'busy summer window' ? It is getting extremely frustrating, it may be the liverpool way but it's incredibly frustrating and leaves fans completely in the dark over transfers, it's obvious we won't see any movement in this week, we all know these things don't take 5 minutes to sort out, then liverpool go to asia next week for 8 days, so we won't see any players in next week for 8 days because its totally obvious business don't get done without kenny around, so for a team who has finished 2 seasons in disgraceful league positions in consecutive seasons with the current crop im a little worried, were going to see players brought in half way or at the end of pre season training, no time to gel with the players what so ever, it seems very strange what is or what isn't happening in this
window,
next season will be exactly the same as the last 2 because were not acting fast enough in the window,
as for the charlie adam saga, it's becoming pathetic, and liverpool are to blame for this, blackpool have clearly always had their valuation of him, it's obvious gerrard will have an on off season next year with his groin and were mulling over a £9 million fee for a quality player, makes you wonder if the moneys there, i've no doubt adam will be a premier league player next season, 80% of me thinks it won't be for liverpool because surely this deal would have been done by now, adam wants the move, if i was adam i wouldn't feel very wanted by lfc as were haggling over a couple of mill, as usual were wasting time in one of the most vital transfer windows of our history given the last few seasons, another season like the last 2 and fans are going to be furious, we don't want the europa league and we don't want no european football, simple answer, anything below 4th is not good enough, its getting silly

Safe to say the blame for such a slow and frustating summer so far dates back to the latter stages of benitez and hodgsons days incharge and I really do feel fr all fans, kk, dc, owners etc because of hideous decisions made by these people, el zhar 30k a week? Jovanovic 65k a week? Poulsen? Its shocking to thing wat idiots we look for paying these below average players this type of money, just hope and expect this doesn't happen again In kenny we trust

Hello Eds, whats your opinion on Jeffren Suarez? Hes only got one year left on his contract as has apparently said he will stay one more year at barca in order to be able to leave on the free next year. If we could tempt him to sign for Liverpool we could probably get him for 5-10 million and would then have a good resale value if things didnt work out as he would have a longer contract. Cheers {Ed009's Note - personally I think he is a mediocre player with a lot of pace but no end product - a continental Lennon perhaps.}

05 Jul 2011 12:12:16
Everyone seems to think that they know about fsg's new 'transfer policy' e.g young , english , re sale value etc.. but it just seems to me that its not so much a policy as it is just not being stupid (like ther last management) , and there is no evidence from their (fsg comolli etc) quotes that they will never buy for example , an expieienced foregner .i think we should open our minds to all sorts of possiblities in terms of signings this summer. obviously one would think that the majority will be young and enlish (especially with new rules regarding home grown players coming into play) but dont rule out at least one or two that break the mould. if they make a contribution half as good a say macallister (signed aged 36) did, it wont bother anyone if they cant be sold at a profit. EdS? {Ed009's Note - I agree that the policy is not as rigid as some perhaps suggest and that if a good, slightly older player is available, they may well be signed too.}

Just wondering if Liverpools late bid for Stefan Savic was to keep the fans happy? To make it look like they were doing something. We were never going to get him this late {Ed002's Note - The club is not going to make such moves to "keep the fans happy". It is simply not the way businesses run.}

05 Jul 2011 12:06:24
I think Liverpool fans are starting to loose faith in DC i mean we paid so much for Carroll and Hendo and we miss out on a striker who is better in Wickham for 1 million pounnds more then we bid and Clichy for 2 million more then we bid. If we sign Downing what a waste of money 20 million for a player who has made NO impact on villa, got relegated with boro instead of one of the best prspects in the game in mata. Adam is another player who will end up at another club because we wasted so much money on hendo who we didnt need because how many players do we need in CM. 35 mill for Carroll is a joke 20 mill for hendo is just silly 4 mill for Doni who is never going to play in goal is a joke

Ed, am I right when I say that the reason that we did not see alot of the youngsters at training yesterday was because they got an extended break for playing in under age tournaments for Liverpool not long after the season ended? {Ed009's Note - the Under 21's and under 17's will certainly be given an extra break in order to avoid burnout, yes.}

We won't hijack the Savic deal. The player has made it very clear he wants a move to Manchester City only. I have full faith in KK and DC, but I am starting to think we are beginning to look a bit desperate in the headlines. Trying last minute deals for players already heading for other clubs. I don't quite understand it. There might well be a very good reason for us doing it.

I don't think we will sign anyone this week. No one is any closer to making a move to us and Medicals haven't been taken. Hopefully next week will be the week for us. Of all the transfer targets mentioned I am hoping the recent rumours about Enrique are true, as he is a quality player and a better defender than Clichy.

You know fellow Liverpool supporters... ? I have figured it out. All us supporters who say we have missed out on players (that there is no proof we were going for in the first place)....its not who Liverpool have missed out on its more who the supporter actually wanted LFC to buy. I agree now that no one knows for sure who Liverpool actually wanted, well apart from Marveaux. But I can see why supporters get frustrated as we are living in a Want it now era not to mention 2 players Jones & Wickham fitted the new transfer policy we are aiming for. We do have to be patient and wait till the end of the transfer market....as hard as it is. We must trust KK....DC I am not so sure about. But we may pull out with some amazing transfers so just wait and see. I am getting excited about Adam, Mata and Baines.....I would be pleased with that. I think most signings will be towards the end of the market so theres little time for supporters from other teams to kick up a long fuss as games will come up thick and fast to take their mind of things.

Can someone clear up the jova situation, is he free to find a new club i.e. transfer listed or has he had his contract cancelled? I'm sure there were a few clubs interested in signing him on loan in january with a view to a purchase {Ed002's Note - He is available on a free transfer - which means Liverpool will lose money, but nothing like as much as they would if his contract was terminated.}
Thanks for clearing that up Ed, do you think its possible that this won't be the only case this transfer window? With El zar and Degan amongst others being on the books for so long and not actually playing in the first team
{Ed002's Note - I agree that there is a very good chance that there will be more. Agents will be asked to help find other clubs for their charges but there will be a lot of haggling finaincially. I suspect Liverpool will offer up some lump sum deals which are a lot less than the players are due just to try and get teh ball rolling.}

I agree Suarez could do an excellent job out wide. He would be right back worst nightmare. Fantastic buy and hoping a few more like him by end of transfer window. You can have your Maveraux's, Wickham's, Cichy's, Young's, of this world as long as we find another Saurez. I bet he could even play left back. Lets be patient and bring in quality. And until that quality arrives lets give youth a chance to prove themselves further. steve068

eds, I have heard through a good source that Andy Carroll is on his final warning for his bad behaviour ie, excessive drinking and not keeping his diet and fitness in check. Rumour has it they had him back early for a specialist fitness and diet team to work on him. In your opinion, do you think he will grow up and fullfill his promise or have we bought a wrongun?.......
WELSHRED {Ed001's Note - I always thought he was going to be trouble, but I do think there is a good chance he can be settled down in the long term. Heres my gripe, us Liverpool fans are the only ones that think there is such thing as a smokescreen. There is no such thing, transfer targets change from time to time. For one reason or another we missed out on Clichy, Young and Jones, maybe it is money or lack of european football.

Also ed002 why do you always put "teh" rather than "the"? Lol

Seems like we'll be redeveloping Anfield.
Whilst I love and treasure Anfield, I was hoping that we could build a new stadia with a capacity circa 75k.

The problem with redevelopment is that Anfield cannot go beyond 60k, we are told.
Which means that we'll still be miles behind the Scum in matchday revenues.

Even Arsenal will be on higher gains as their tickets are a lot expensive than ours will likely be.
I think the heart ruled this decision, cause economically, it makes no sense whatsoever.

But I'm hoping that FSG have a trick a two up its sleeve to offset this shortcoming.
Ed, what other mechanisms do you see John and Tom exploiting to make up for the relatively low matchday revenues after Anfield's redeveloped?

Burmeister {Ed001's Note - you are forgetting that it is not a permanent block to raising the attendances, but a short term one until the environs have improved access. That work can be paid for outside of the FFP ruling and so I expect the club to ensure that it does.}

Liverpool are trying to hijack Manchester City's move for Montenegro star Stefan Savic, skysports.com understands.

However, the Reds' late efforts look set to be in vain as the 20-year-old is believed to be fully focused on completing a move to Eastlands.

Someone who is capable of biting and pulling hair is not the type of player you want at liverpool.Its ugly.Kenny must sort that out. He is a diver too. Really our Sky sports and football manager generation of Liverpool Fans are unreal we use to have great fans, get real who care's if we have not signed anyone yet it's you lot reading papers who make the targets up that we don't sign
we will sign who we sign, and you will no who we have when the season starts
so stop wasting your time getting frustrated and go back to football manager
Kenny will bring in who he thinks is best and who he can realistically get to come
If Wickham had wanted to come he wouldn't have gone to Sunderland and said i want Liverpool but he didn't same with young same with Jones
do you want these players

I presume the agents use the social media widely, and have numerous aliases or other people to do their work on this media, to further their player's transfer aims ?
Probably to go as far as posting on popular footy sites like this one.
I presume money changes hands when these activities are carried out ?
And that some of these people may be linked to betting companies ?
I do get the feeling that LFC have been used as a stalking horse to generate other clubs' interest in some transfers so far. Nothing new or illegal in that. But one of the side-effects of this is that those players names, splashed all over the social media, leave fans very disappointed when things eventually transpire.
It's like this site - a host of players names as potential targets just seemed to start and gather pace over time. Until, to some readers, they were mere formalities just waiting for the ink to dry.
The football transfer business does seem an odd and very secretive way in which to conduct the selling / purchase of its assets.
Undisclosed fees...ridiculous contract conditions...
It should all be done in a more regulated and transparent manner, imo.
Ta, The Real KB {Ed002's Note - I think you have maybe watched one too many spy movies. Years ago agents were very different that they are now - with few willing to go and speak to clubs in other countries - and that is still true of many of the English agents now. I can't think of any who would ever use a site like this to talk up a player although perhaps Ed001 knows different. They will certainly talk up players to the press and are always open to questions, but I figure most concentrate their efforts in to getting as much out of the clubs as they can for their players. And not just when a new contract is signed, whilst they are under contract. They are not beyond making outrageous requests for players who will be on a very good wage already. Certainly the representatives of South American one player who is considering a move to a London based club this summer, has included a request of 100 first class return tickets per year between London and his home town and to have a two bedroomed suite at a Central London hotel available year round. Player's representatives and agents are regulated much more than tehy were and we are moving toward financial accountability already with clubs needing to declare payments made to such third parties every year. The long-term solution may be the American system where all trades are negotiated and handled by the football association, or league, itself.}

Come on fellow reds I am as fed up as you guys with the lack of transfer activity but I am sure that KK and DC know what they are doing.

At the end of the day we can all speculate who might be arriving and who is leaving the club, but the bottom line is only KK himself knows.

KK has added Suarez, Carroll and Henderson since his arrival in January but he's not daft he will know that we are still 5-6 players short for Liverpool to be even considered as a threat to getting back into the top four. Yes we have young talent at the club coming through which KK demonstrated with at the back end of last season but the premiership is a tough league. Man utd, Man city, Chelsea have already started building for the upcoming season to there already impressive squads which will only make them stronger. We I believe are currently alongside Arsenal and Spurs all competing for that fourth place with very little transfer activity.

The next six weeks are the most important period for KK and Liverpool to get the right players who WANT to play for the club. There will be great expectation on KK shoulders and he knows that he must get things right. We cannot afford to have a poor start to the season and be out of the premiership by Christmas especially as we have no European competion to fall back upon.

We must trust KK and DC to get the right players into the club, I expect the transfers of these individuals to start shortly now that players are arriving back at there clubs for pre-season.

Remember we are in a better position now than we were this time last year so keep the faith.

suarez & carroll need quality both sides of them, we have to get average players off the wage bill before we can sign anyone, i feel this is were we are going to fail , these player's are happy to sit on there rings & get £70,000 & more week for training , who brought these clowns to are club, i remember the previous managers who we paid millions to leave, it kills me to see poulson konchesky raul janovic training, get out of our club we need a salvage sale asap.

ARE WE STILL A BIG CLUB?
in terms of history, prestige, revenue and worldwide appeal we will always be a big club.but at the moment we cannot offer players champions league football or even europa league football.
that is one of the reasons we are finding it hard to attract the quality players to our club.
players want to play on the big stage and at the moment four other clubs in the premier league have an advantage over us because they can offer champions league football plus they can match anybody for wages.
we need to sell the club to potential signings and prove to them the long term ambition of the club.
they couldn, t convince torres so he jumped ship and went to chelsea, but something was said to pepe reina that convinced him to stay.the priority this season must be champions league qualification and anything else would be a bonus.challenging for the title is always the main goal but that could still be a couple of seasons away yet.

i have to laugh at all the idiots on here saying we have missed out on all these players.
young
marveaux
jones
clichey
whickam
and all our other targets that other clubs are now interested in.can somebody tell me when kenny or anybody from the club came out and said any of these players were potential targets and that we would do all we could to get them to the club.
nobody knows who we are after not even the press.the just put anything in there to fill an empty space.if they didnt fill their papers with crap then most papers would only have 2 0r 3 pages at most and that includes the tv guide.
stop worrying and trust what the club is doing behind the scenes.they will be working around the clock trying to get transfers moving in and out of the club.and only when they put pen to paper will an announcement be made.thats the way it is and that is the way it should be.be patient the is still plenty of time for some quality additions and dont be surprised if we sign a couple who nobody has even mentioned yet.

Euro transfare window been open now 5 days I honestly expected players in from continent soon as opened getting players tied up and sorted for pre season, starting to get little worried now as it seems every player we linked with seem to be being signed by rivals one by one, I was one that argued that we do not need to sell before we buy. Starting to think I was wrong. Is our squad that bad That we carnt get rid of the dead wood players( proves we payed way over odds and paid them and gave luxury wagers no other club would even think about never mind actualy paying them wages we do.

Expect the transfer window to start moving faster as players return to there clubs, Liverpool have had to wait for the return of certain players to discuss there future at the club, agents and some players will be searching for new clubs, this is what has been holding up transfers, you can not just buy players with out ballencing the books, its not just the price you get when you get rid of a player, its the wages that you lose from your books, and that gives you more options to offer new players.

I wish people would stop banging on about missing out on "targets". The fact of the matter is that none of us know exactly who we have interest in and to what degree. KK and DC may well have decided on a completely different set of targets for whatever reason and we must have faith. KK brought in barnes when no one was spotlighting him along with other players who where below the radar but built a TEAM rather than some "football manager" selection.

People just need to relax and have faith that between them the liverpool management team know a lot more about football than the rest of us combined.

Morning Eds after losing out on yet another player Gael Clichy for 7 million im starting to lose faith in fenway and comolli where going to end up paying over the odds for average players (Adam, Dowing, Enrique) unless we pull our fingers out woke up this morning only to read yet another target Aly Cissokho is wanted by arsenal so thats another one lost out on how many more players we going to let slip by before we place bids and stop fannying around their are only a few young lads left Mata, Hazard, Honda, to name a few can you see us buy anything but kids this window cause if we do we'll turn into arsenal if where not careful

MB {Ed002's Note - I have no idea about your first point but it seems awfully petty if trues. As for the second that is not true. The significant reason for not considering the club comes from the other party, and as I have said before is not for consumption in a public forum. Thanks for the note though.}

Lets face it, KK and DC have not actually said who they want or don't want, 99% of what we are reading is speculation on rumours, of course someone may have got it right in the end and will claim the glory for it but with LFC being so tight lipped we will all just have to wait and see, bit like waiting for Xmas Day really.
I've supported The Reds for 34 years and only in the later years has it become more frustrating to find out who's coming or going because there are so many websites, papers and other media platforms to check and they all seem to contradict each other on who's going where and how much for.
So let me just say when you've seen Kevin Keegan replaced by Kenny Dalglish and Clemence by Grobbelaar and Rush with Aldridge and it still turns out alright in the end, just relax and be assured the powers to be protect our beloved club from the money men and will go back to employing players who want to play. Just a quick look at our rivals:

City:
If they lose Tevez they'll be far worse imo. Yes they have the money to replace him and there is quality out there (Eto'o/Villa/Aguero) but Tevez was their only consistent performer last season and having to replace him will rob the tea, of the little continuity it had. Could go both ways - they could hit the ground running and challenge for the title or they could fail to gel and drop out of the top 4 altogether.

Arsenal:
Getting weaker atm but not to be underestimated. Wenger has shown he knows how to build a team and they've got some fine players. But their mentality still isn't up to scratch. Most likely to drop out of the top 4

Spurs:
Doing well to keep Modric atm. They need to be consistent as a team next season, as it is unlikely that Bale will be as good as he was last season and Modric might not have his head in the game if he does stay. With VDV performing worse as the season went on, they could do with a quality addition or 2 to push for the top 4. Otherwise, with the Europa League pushing them to Sundays, they could easily fail to be top 4 again.

So we can make top 4 if we perform as a team, like we did at the end of last season, and make a couple of quality additions. We especially need a more consistent defence, so a left-back and a centre-back would be most welcome for me. A winger would also be a good option, I'd rather Mata than Downing but they're both good and I trust whoever Kenny brings in. I'd like to see us play 3 in midfield again so Adam's magnificent passing wouldn't go amiss, and we have the quality in midfield to cope with his drops in form. So a few more astute signings, and the right coaching, and we can definitely get top 4, but it won't be easy. IKWT, YNWA

Are Liverpool going to sign any players
The only player sign is over priced, paid and rated Jordan Henderson and maybe over price and rated Charlie Adams both in my opinon worth half what we paid or paying

If Liverpool sticking with the current transfer policies Liverpool won't be able to complete with other fellow Premiership clubs. All our pursuiting targets will be futile.

We already lost out 6 targeted players
Phil Jones to Manchester United £22m
Ashley Young to Manchester United £16m
Sylvain Marveaux to Newcastle United free
Coner Wickham to Sunderland £12m
Gael Clichy to Manchester City £7m
Gervinho to Arsenal

We may not sign any player below which targeted by KK and DC
With Other clubs have more buying power and unrestricted Wage.
We may have to found others lesser players instead the targeted players

Players below is been target for a while and KK and DC have express their public interest but with our restriction, others club bound to outbid Liverpool

Jose Enrique (£12m) maybe Arsenal or Manchester United
Stewart Downing (£18m) - Arsenal
Scott Dann (£12m) - Stoke, Arsenal or Chelsea
Charles NZogbia (£15m)- Aston Villa or Newcastle
Diego (£15m) - Aston Villa
MBaye Niang (£7m) - Tottenham

Liverpool end up with nothing and end up buying over price, paid and rated players {Ed001's Note - this was a complete waste of my time reading, utter nonsense.}

Hey Ed's
Lfc Paddy here, This transfer window is honestly the worst I have seen for rumours and they are only being fueled by over-expecting fans I think.
With all these rumours could one of you's please take time to highlight our realistic targets from these rumours. Personally I hope Diego, Santon, Izaguirre and Mata are up there but you guys have the connections so I'd love to know what you guys can honestly see as real targets
Cheers Ed's

LFC Paddy {Ed001's Note - honestly mate, no one, and I do mean no one, outside of a very select few people really know who the targets are. Kenny has never been one to give things away and no one else at the club is talking any more either. Those that are don't actually know what is going on anyway.}

What is stopping us from going after Kolorov now that city have sealed Clichy, ... Is he surpluse to requirments... Does he want to leave England, ... R his wages to high, .. He would be a great Fit for our LB Dilema, .. Oh n wat has Happened to Insua Did he leave to Gala or jst loan is he an option for us @ LB still, ... your thoughts please ED?

Kolarov was brought for 20mil, so Clichy will be his back up. His wage is not less than what Clichy gets. Second Mancini brought Kolarov to MCFC and he wanted to sign him when he was Inter manager.

I'm seriously hoping King Kenny isn't considering swapping Aquilani plus cash for Aaron Lennon. Lennon, along with Gareth Bale, has been well documented in his dislike for the North-West and LFC in particular. I have read it a few times over the past couple of years, sometimes even on this site. I would doubt Lennon has any desire to come here to that effect.

I do agree that we are in dire need of pacy wingers but the ones mentioned are not LFC calibre. Lennon, Bale and even Stewart Downing are not suited to our club (Lennon and Bale for the reasons stated above, and Downing because he is simply not good enough for our club).

If we are in the market for players suited to those positions, in my opinion we should be making serious moves towards Adam Johnson and Theo Walcott. Both fit the bill perfectly, young, English, serious pace, can take players on, deliver crosses and have an eye for goal. Given the situations at both clubs at the minute (especially Arsenal) I think if serious moves and big bids were made then these moves could happen. I would love it as well.

Big John

aquilani is better than lennon. y? because if u watch him he can cross and pass much better. lennon couldn't cross the road never mind a football. i do not want lennon

Alright guys, haven't posted in a while. Couple of things, despite Adam being highly likely to become a Liverpool player I am getting fed up of "He will defo sign tomorrow" or "He is having a medical in a week" etc etc. No one actually knows however someone is bound to guess it right and demand some recognition. Anyway rant over.

So we all know the Liverpool way is behind closed doors however there are various players who have been watched including Mata, Downing, Enrique and Dann to name a few. I expect there to be various others who have not been mentioned as well. Correct me if I am wrong but don't recall anyone saying Henderson would be coming our way.
