MIKEY, I have noticed quite a few digs at Suarez down the page. Funny how you can turn on somebody so quickly, I will look forward to your posts in future if he stays! Just to see if you revert to type.
And for you and the many posters like you, don't try and take the moral high ground about you and the club showing unswerving support for Suarez when the only reason you did was because he was and is a world class player, would be interesting to see if we would react in the same way to similar behaviour if it was a run of the mill player who wasn't getting many games due to below average ability.
Waro
Believable0
Unbelievable0
To be honest, I have to say I will support Luis Suarez a great deal next season, if he is still with us.
However, his 20 games worth of suspensions in the last 2 seasons definately makes him a liablilty, and his open courting of other football clubs and determination to leave LFC has made me realise the club should sell and just move on for the better.
He is clearly an exceptional player but, our team may even improve if we invest his transfer fee correctly to buy 2 new players
I am now resigned to losing Suarez and I am even beginning to think about the positives that his sale will befit our club. I will just wait and see to be fair.
Agree0
Disagree0
What a daft post.
No player who is unprofessional and hurts the reputation of the club belongs at LFC. It doesn't matter who it is.
Agree0
Disagree0
Welcome to life waro, things ain't fair,
Suarez has had the support he has had from the supporters due to his abilities on the pitch, same as most work places cut more slack for people who are good at there jobs, if it was an average player then most of this behaviour would not have been tolerated. not fair but that's what happens.
I've tried to ignore the things he has done due to what he brings to the team and what he can do for us, before all his interviews and statements I couldn't wait to c him next season after having te to settle with coutinho and sturridge, had huge hopes for a great start to
Next season, but after reading what he has been saying with the excuses he has come out with after he has had un wavering support from the fans and the club is disrespectful, if he had been more respectful to the team and fans by keeping his mouth shut until an offer actualy came in, and then spoke about it with the club privately instead of the way he has acted people would have no reason to say things,
He has told the club and players and fans that he loves the city loves the club and the way he has been supported, then thrown it all in everyone's faces by opening his stupid mouth.
No matter how good he is he is acting like he is bigger than LFC, no one is or ever will be, so yeah it has pissed people off and they come on here to vent their frustrations, I don't want him in our team next season, if he is I think it will do us more harm than good, this doesn't mean if he is and scores winning goals for us I won't cheer, because I will, I will be cheering our team not him.
So your post yet again having ago at people is pointless, we have every right to vent at Suarez, he has acted like a spoilt child throwing his rattle out of his pram trying to get a move away despite the loyalty shown tongim by us and the team. Not about his abilities
Sorry for rant but I don't blame people for having a go at him,

Not as early as Barca, West Ham, Man City and any other clubs who have confirmed and paraded new players.
Its the Usual LFC, its mostly the press made up stuff which keeps us fans going.
Window be be usual, sign one early -Free signing Kolo.
Sniff round a second but get locked in negotiations for ages. Eventually sign 2nd player while missing out on many which are linked. Probably Aspas for more than originally quoated.
Watch rivals build u and sign players we'd like after seeing them linked in press - Eriksen, Higuin, Papa, Digne, Sanchez, Ilori, Mkayan (spelling), Soldano, Benteke etc etc
last window day after squad is depleted by too many outgoing - Skrtel, Carroll, Spearing, Downing, Coates, Suarez and loans. We wait for news of third signing due to having about £60mil burning a hole. lights go out and Anfield closes early around 9pm July 31st
Story will be not held to ransom and January will be a busy window, BR happy with squad although it contradicts needing depth and many signings incoming etc.
Go into new season a bit low and see that injury list high and FSG go quiet with a fat profit.

Tom Ince will not be happening. He isn't currently being considered by Liverpool. We negotiated in January but were prices out of the move and since then the player hasn't been as impressive. Other targets are now being considered and this is backed up by the strong links we have with similar players that everyone already knows about (eg. Aspas)

Heard a friend at the club, that Luis Suarez with stay at the club, and Liverpool will still bring in the Armenian midfielder Henrik mkhitaryan regardless of the Suarez saga, we will also target aspas as everybody already knows along with Papadopoulos, David Villa, mignolet, and an unnamed player from Chelsea. thought to be Fernando, BR thinks he can get him on the cheap and turn him back into the Torres of old, BR's relations with Jose Mourinho will help the deal go through Carroll will move to inter rather than west ham, assaidi, pacheco and brad Jones will leave, suso, Morgan and coady will go out on loan

John Henry’s Fenway Sports Group has appointed a new sponsorship sales head which is fantastic news for Liverpool.
John Clark will takeover as senior vice president of FSG, with the main purpose of transforming the sponsorship deals across the portfolio of the company, which includes Liverpool.
Clark goes into the role with a solid 18 years of experience in sponsorship sales and he could dramatically increase the amount of cash running through Liverpool from commercial sources.
Liverpool’s main rivals Manchester United are the perfect example of how big money sponsorship deals can develop and enhance revenue streams for a club, creating a surplus of cash which can be invested back into that club.
The news is very significant for Liverpool because they are a side looking to work very hard to break even and put themselves into a position where they could meet any financial restrictions and regulations imposed on competitions relevant to them.
The obvious benefit of transformed sponsorship deals for the fans is that Brendan Rodgers may have slightly more cash in the bank, which he can used to improve the side.
The knock on effect of that is that it gives the club a better chance of getting into the top four, which then opens up the financial benefits of broadcasting and sponsorship related to the Champions League.
It will also help Liverpool to be able to reinvest in their already impressive youth structure, which will make the production line of teenagers going into the first team even more sustainable.
Clark has ties in major American sports the National Football League and the National Basketball Association, which means he should be able to find a variety of new sponsorship opportunities for the club.
The worry for the fans is going to be the same worries they had towardsJohn Henry earlier in the season, the fact that someone who could transform the shape and fortunes of the club will not be very present at Anfield at all.
Clark will work out of a Boston based office which can only lead to the natural assumption that American sports, companies and clients will take precedence over the club.
However, Henry reacted to that criticism earlier this season pointing to the fact that Liverpool are an established, huge and globally respected club and commercial brand.
He’s also stated a recent desire for the club to be able to financially sustain itself over the long term and this is a deal, which will help them to do that.
It’s impossible to put a figure on how much cash Clark could generate for Liverpool but his experience and success in sponsorship sales means he can move the club forward in big ways.
just sharing what I read

Simple, we need Champions League to even put us on the same page as regards Man Utd's sponsorship revenue, not a new portfolio manager. You can't squeeze blood out of a stone. Even then we would require sustained success over a number of years to be able to rival them on that front.

Good to see FSG using the site to let us know what they are up to.
I know its difficult to believe it after a few years of not making the CL, but I really believe the quality of teams is getting more and more even.
There are so many good players around now that every team has them and an inspired performance by the few or some inspired tactics by the manager can make the difference between top 4 and missing out.
There were a number of teams that weren't a million miles from the top 4 last season and with a lots of changes happening this off season, its going to be a rodeo ride all the way to round 38 next season - and I think we will still be in the saddle right to the end.

Ali, I understand your frustration, we all do, but look at our performance in the final third of the season and can you honestly say there has been no progress? I think not.
BR has brought an exciting brand of football and he's done it against a backdrop of change, unrealistic fan expectation and with an overall reduction both in wages and the average age of the players.
In this context I think you have to say he has done well and if the touted signings actually end up at the club I think we will challenge all season for a champions league spot, but, we may not get one.
In our days of constant presence in the ECL there were only 4 realistic contenders now there are 6 ( 7 if you count Everton) The premier league has changed, our expectations must change with it, qualifying in 3 out of ever 5 seasons is now the most we can hope for unless we receive investment on the scale of city, utd, chelsea.

Stop with the we won something last year rubbish, wigan and swansea won cups this year! And its not like we have been winning trofies or enjoying CL for ages!
So we have scored 71 goals, the 4th time ever since the premier league era started!
18 diffrent players have scored for Liverpool for the first time ever since the premierleague era started!
We have created the most chances in europe this season and Liverpools highest chance pr game ratio for the last 17 seasons!
We play some of the most attractive football and and scored some wonderful team goals!
61 points which is almost 10 more than last season, and keeping in mind we played with 1 striker for half the season and the youngest Liverpool squad for over 15 seasons, with loosing players like kuyt, bellamy, carroll, adam, aquilani, maxi.
Get a grip and try to understand the big picture and stop with the unrealistic expectations! We are rebuilding and slowly improving all the time, since january and the signings of coutinho and sturridge we have been in the top 4 form table! that's improvment for blind eyes to see!
Last year we also had less games and we played some of the worst football I have witnessed for ages with the likes of spearing, adam and carroll starting a huge amount of games!
They wouldn't start for my u-21 2nd division team mate!
We are most def. Improving and moving in the right direction!

How come we're not going for belhanda? Last year he was worth 30m now I've seen he's worth 12m!
Tbh I wouldn't mind us signing him or Mkhitaryan or eriksen!
I know it wouldn't happen, but I wouldn't mind all 3 haha
We'd have a boss 4-5-1 formation lol, all out attack.
Ed, could you perhaps shed some light on the quality of these 3 players as they all seem similar in their type of play.
Is belhanda only good enough for villa?
Is eriksen a better and cheaper option to Mkhitaryan
Or is there potentially another target to come out of nowhere as usually is these days?
Either way can't wait for next season!
Thanks! {Ed052's Note - the reason we're not signing Belhanda is because we have interest else where. We cannot buy every player that is linked to another team-}

Ed052. Doesn't really cover the question. Which was a good question.
No we cannot buy everyone true. But as poster said this was a £30m player which I believe we were linked to before. Is now £12m a non CL side are moving and IMO a less attractive option. We are clearly looking into a player like this
So is he good enough can anyone with ITK see Belhanda as an option. Why would we not move for him over Eriksen if he is of the same level? Etc {Ed052's Note - his price has obviously dropped becuase he has had a very bad season. Just becuase he is cheap doesn't mean we should sign him. I do know however he didn't move last year becuase he was hugely overpriced. Belhanda is not an option for us. He is a different player to Eriksen, and just becuase they have the same value doesn't mean they are the same quality. You have to take into account years on contract, league, nationality, recent performances, clubs financial position etc. }

What's with all the complaining about the kits? I've just moved house and while putting away my clothes, I have 26 shirts from over the years and in a few weeks time I will have 2 more, home and away every new kit. Don't care what they look like as long as they have the liver bird on the chest. Never have a name put on it because NO name is bigger than the club.
Been reading a lot of the posts and most of them are getting quite annoying, Suarez this, who going to replace him, how to convince players to come to us, how we a mid table team.
FSG are showing their intentions with early signings already, they have enquired about a £20m player none dependant on Suarez sale, all this with our any completed sales, these are out of their own pockets, how many other clubs have been this quick of the mark in transfers already?
We made huge steps in the right direction towards the end of last season, with the signings we are talking about, enquiries starting already, players that look pretty damn exciting for us, we are not going to be a mid table team.
Suarez is leaving, around 40 million, why should we take a player that had to be convinced to come to us, a player should want to come to us not the other way around. We are still
LFC, we are on our way back up, if Suarez or players don't won't to be part of that take the money re invest as FSG and BR want and support who ever wears our shirt.
At the end of the day any one of us can complain about the shirts but we're all going to be buying them!

Some great comments of support for Martin Skrtel on the LFC website.
I am one of the minority on this site who can see how good Skrtel is. Every time I have mentioned him on here I end up getting stick.
I am sure many of you do not watch our team play very often (probably just MOTD highlights).
Either that or this site is full of kids who just want a different name in their sticker books.
A few bad games does not make you a bad player. Is he the only one who hasn't performed at top level this season? Jonno, Enrique, Pepe, Allen, Lucas, Downing, Hendo, Sterling, Jonjo, Gerrard and Suarez have all had bad games this season. Form is a part of every player, whether it's good or bad.
I guarantee that those who have said Skrtel is not good enough will eat there words. He is a top player, much better than the injury prone Papadopoulos who most of you have been banging on about.

I agree, Skirts is one of our best defenders and losing Cara as well will hurt us whoever we bring in.

Actually, your among those minority of folks who over-rate Skrtel.
I cannot ofcourse speak for everyone on this site, but I am pretty sure the majority watch LFC play, week in week out. Your rather pathetic, know-it-all comments will most likely end up getting abuse.
Sure, like Skrtel, Johnson, Allen, Pepe, Lucas, Henderson etc have all received their fair share of criticism here, fair or not.
As for he is better than Papa, you are again wrong. In 5 and a half seasons at LFC, Skrtel has perhaps had 2 seasons (spread throughout the 5 and half) where he was good, not great, but just about good.
I think, it's pretty clear who the kids here.

Skrtel is a liability and always has been, his positional sense is poor he backs off backs off backs off until the attacker is on or in our box then decides to clatter in to them, his decision making is poor, he thinks clattering into someone is defending. He appears strong and decent in the air, but put him up against a physical forward and he is shown up. Put him up against any pace or skill and he has no way to combat it, all in all an ordinary defender.
Just because people on a Liverpool website agree with your assertions on skrtel doesn't make him a good player, this also doesn't mean you don't know what your talkin about because I think we can all have a blind spot with certain players, myself included.

hi I think that skrtel can improve. he has scored some good goals for us this season and last. most of our defenders cannot score apart from agger and Johnson. you need a whole defence who can score also and defend. yes he has a few issues with positioning but I think he can improve. I believe he was dropped because carra ws retiring so Brendon rogers wanted to just give carra the games until the end of season. I believe he will still be here I hope so. he's a tough cb. and you need some one like that in the team.
Agree0

A defence needs support from midfield. players who will track back and help break up the attack of the opposition.
For the first half of the season Allen was the player allocated that job.
Allen is not a defensive midfielder, which meant that there was more pressure on the defence as our midfield was too weak.
If Lucas had not returned from injury and taken over from Allen then Carra would not have had it so easy.

Red lee - I am one who thinks Skrtel is a massive player for us - since the Barnsley game ( which I was at ) he hasn't played - Coates was as weak as a kitten and feel that Skrtel should have taken control and battled with their 6'6 forward, but didn't - must have fallen out with BR over this game. Vastly overrated! Has no bravery, meaning he waits too long to put in a challenge and when he does its usually too late!
Runs and runs back wards instead of putting a challenge and has resulted in us dropping numerous points, because I watch each game and sometimes watch a game twice I can tell you that you need to watch our games because you are the one sounding like a child who actually have never watched a game!
He lost us 4 points against city, he looked horible vs a league 2 side, we were crushed by saints when he came back in the team, and even when carragher came in the side we kept a lot of cleansheets! For a big defender he gets bullied a lot and doesn't fit the system at all!
I support players when they get abuse they don't deserve like allen, borini, sturridge, enrique, lucas!
But skrtel? Sorry he needs to go! No comitment to the cause at all!

Nobody is saying Skrtel's a bad player. He does not fit into Rodger's tactics of passing the ball from the back. His passing is not too great which has let him down too often this season. His inconsistency does not help either. He was outstanding last season, but I think its the right time for him to move to newer pastures. Napoli would be good for him, because they have Rafa.

Apart from losing us a win with that horrendous back pass against Man City if I recall early on, I like him.

I watch every game and I look at the positives as well as the negatives.
I don't think "oh Skrtel made a poor backpass which led to us conceding a goal, he is sh*t, get rid". I am not as fickle as some of you. He was our player of the season the previous year let's not forget!
Like I said Lucas came back in and took a lot of pressure off the centre backs.
Do you not understand how important Lucas is for our defence? can you not comprehend that any defence will struggle if there is no help from midfield?
BR has said Skrtel is in his plans for next season so if that is true you will see.

Mate you must be new to this site, me and waro have a history and rarley agree and I don't read his posts and neither does he mine, and am one of the most supportive to players and ask anyone, I understand how important lucas is but that doesn't change the fact that Skrtel is not comitted and have played badly all season not just the back pass, talks a lot to the media about loosing his place, so he is exactly the whiner you say he isn't and when he got a chance he didn't give everything to reclaim his place, instead he and his agent are talking about offers from other places and moving!
Clearly not a player comitted to the cause or even willing to fight for a place!
You are so biased your judgement is flawed! Skrtel was good last season in a much more defensive system and in a team that scored 42 and let in 40.
This year we scored 71 and let in 42, and 20 of those came with Skrtel in the side! You do the math my friend! BR doesn't rate him at all, if he did he would have played him more! Sorry mate but being over supportive even when there is no reason other than being supportive doesn't work for me! He has to go so we can find someone actually willing to fight for a place and most importantly fits the system! Peace

Suso is a bit of a concern for me. The lad is around 21yrs old isn't he? Similar age to Mkhitaryan, Erikson and others we have been linked to. I think the kid is quality and does have a bright future but why are we looking elsewhere in that case and not giving him a chance? Perhaps he'll be cover for Coutinho and the big fellas are to add steel to the backbone of the team. But if Suso's always out on loan, will be 22yrs old soon enough and by the time he's 22-23yrs isn't getting a run in the first team, that has to tell us something and also tell the player something - like he may get that first team playing time elsewhere. It seems as though Brendan is seeing something missing from this lad and I for one think it would be a shame to squander and not nurture that talent.

The idea of the kids is that they break into the first team. Not giving buying nobody in their position so they are the only option he's only 19 the armenian is 24. The lad need to go on loan in the prem for a year possibly 2 until he proves himself there & then come back when he's established

Love the Dirk Kuyt/Pedro description. Haven't heard that before but it sounds very apt. He's a very well rounded attacking midfielder with a high work-rate and very smart direct passing and running. Works the channels and can play deeper as well to cover a bit of defense but has a very keen eye for goal which mostly comes from his intelligence in running and his direct and accurate shooting/finishing.

I watched Shaktar playing in the champions league to see what the hype about Willian was and Mkhytaryan stood out much more. At the time he looked like he panicked in front of goal a bit but with the stats saying 25 goals i'm guessing he has improved. He is the one player I hoped we signed in January so hopefully we get him. Trust me he is brilliant.

Considering reports that Real Madrid would like to exchange a player rather than pay the full amount for Suarez, I find it hard to think of a Madrid player who would welcome a move to Liverpool and would fit into our system, not to mention that Madrid would be willing to let go. But the player Jese Rodriguez seems a great idea, as he seems to have much potential. Is there any interest in him from Liverpool and would Madrid be willing to exchange him for Suarez?

If the undignified Suarez is relieved of his duties I am reliably informed that LFC will look to purchase both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alexis Sanchez, note another 1st team central striker is not on the agenda.
This is to allow Sturridge and Aspas to challenge one another to spear head the attack.
Mkhitaryan will predominantly be used in the no. 10 role, however he will be challenged by Philippe "the magician" Coutinho although the magician maybe pushed wide left if Mkhitaryan is excellent from the off.
Sanchez will predominantly be used in the right wing/forward role; however he will be challenged by either Aspas or Sturridge dependent upon who leads the line / form / injury.
Sterling / Ibe will challenge each other as back-up on the left wing/forward role; they will initially be used on only an intermitted basis, however they will have their chances to cement the role as their own.
Nevertheless the attack behind the main striker will be as fluid as the Nile, with positions only being used when retreating in to a defensive shape.
The impending window will inevitably beckon a new attacking era at LFC with a level of imperishable depth and relentless ferocity that has not been seen since the 80's.

I wish people would open their eyes a little!
Agger - There's on way on this earth, he will be leaving us this summer, he loves the club, people have short memories, look at last year, all the talk about him going (though I admit I thought he was going to) he then went and got the tattoos.
No matter what he is offered, I think his hearts at Liverpool, he knows big things are coming!
Also sick to death of hearing about Suarez, I've got to the point now of thinking. Suarez. who? this guy doesn't wanna play at Liverpool, I don't hate him for that, In fact I can't blame the guy! but its gone its going to happen now let's leave it alone.
I do have a quick question, I read somewhere a few weeks back about Lucas leaving, was probably nothing. but any truth to this eds/all?
He didn't have the best of seasons due to injurys etc, and didn't look fantastic on the pitch, but I certainly wouldn't like to see him leave personally, I feel he can jump back next season and show people what he's really capable of, I believe we've got a bit of a star there!
Coutinho - this guy excites me, yet worries me! I can't help thinking that should we not get CL:F next season, if his form is like how it has been, many big teams will become interested and he will leave! i'd be gutted to see him go, alright we'll probably make a **** load of money on him but not the point is it! let's hope he ends up been another Agger and wants to keep with us!
Finally. Carroll - who does this guy think he is, now wanting 100k pw, wouldn't mind if he was good! but that's the whole point, he's simply not good! anyway I'll shut up. just my thoughts on everything! :)
Have a good day/week to all & Eds

So. we need to get rid of all the players that want out and just focus on the younger lads and promote scouse lads into the team. The sort that would play through a brick wall for the cause, whose hearts bleed LFC.
Local born players, that's what we need to focus on from now on and get rid of all the players that are here for the money.

If you listen really carefully guys, you can hear distant screams as M slices his wrists upon a jagged blade.
Dude lighten up! We are not midtable, we are not mediocre, we will challenge for honours on a regular basis again soon. The club is making strides forward and even if we just continue to go up by one league place each year, in 5 years we'll win the league. In 2 years we'll be back in the CL.
I think you will see an accelerated success rate though and anticipate a 4th place finish next season, and then top 2 the following. With silly signings like Navas, City will start to drop off (seriously, so gald we turned away at that asking price!). There owners won't stay round for much longer, and the bubble will burst. United are on the brink of a spiral into what we've juist been through the last 20 years (to think they will disapear completely is naive, but they will not dominate for years now, if ever again). Arsenal aer close to losing Wenger, and like it or not, that man is a phenominal manager. Chelsea and Liverpool are on the up. Spurs look to have hit a ceiling and haven't really made any great strides forward for 3 years despite spending hundreds of millions of pounds.
Of course all the above predictions could be wrong, and Liverpool might fade into Europa league spot contenders, but I would like my glass to be half full, not empty.
Heres my top 6 prediction for next year, and then the following:
2013/14
1. Chelsea - Mourinho
2. City - Pellegrini
3. United - Moyes
4. Liverpool - Rodgers
5. Arsenal - Wenger
6. Spurs - AVB
2014/15
1. Chelsea - Mourinho
2. Liverpool - Rodgers
3. City - New Manager (Pelegrini will be sacked by Xmas 2014)
4. United - Moyes
5. Spurs - AVB
6. Arsenal - New manager (Wenger will go to P$G Summer 2014)
I will likely be wrong, but this is genuinely what I am predicting.

Every other newspaper except the Echo seems we will target him regardless of Suarez situation. Just wanted your thought/info.
I was personally really happy we were targetting 2 top class players in papa and Mikhi without depending on Suarez sale and we could easily target 2 more quality players if Suarez leaves for around 40 million. {Ed001's Note - Suarez is going, but that has nothing to do with this deal.}

Hello All,
I like many have been on this website for years, moaning at the countless silly/repeated questions and bizarre rumours, having spells (ashamedly so) of stop coming on as it was doing my head in.
I have often wondered why do people ask silly questions, or ask the Eds about unrealistic targets or moan about the players being linked, then become upset about the responses they get.
Then I thought about it and realised I get frustrated with some comments because I found myself agreeing with some of them about players not being good enough and wanting players to sign who I have never seen and haven't a clue if good enough. For example I have never seen Eriksen play (apart from against England) and I know as Ed02 has said it most unlikely he will come, but still I want to believe that there still is a chance and want him to sign! I then start hanging on every rumour I want to be true. Why? Am I becoming a Troll (dont know what this is?)
Or is it because I am so desperate for my team to become great again like I grew up with, not helped with all the years of watching Man U winning trophy after trophy and listening to the gloating?
Whatever it is I have realised not to get so frustrated with some ridiculous posts, as they like all of us only want our team to be successful, even if some don't put it very well.
Anyway if we didn't have daft posts it wouldn't let the Eds have their opportunities to show the variety of witty answers or repostes to which we are all entertained.
So anyway keep up the posts (apart from the abusive ones) and don't forget, If you don't think you will like the answer don't ask the question! I always tell this to the wife when she is trying dresses on!
Thanks Eds, keep going even though I know it is sometimes hard, but if you think about it the reason you get so many questions is because this site and your answers are the most reliable and informative and that's why it upsets people who don't like the answers. ( A backhanded compliment really!)

Hey Ed's
I was wondering who would be the better buy for Liverpool, BR is interested in both mhkitryan and lamela, lamela is younger showing promise but mhkitryan has proven himself top goalscorer in ukraine {Ed001's Note - Lamela would cost a lot more and his ownership is unclear, which is why no move has yet been made for him. It is extremely complicated, which is why Southampton leapt in, they see an opportunity to sign someone that would otherwise be off to Man City, Chelsea, Bayern etc in the summer. If it can be sorted easily, he will end up at one of the big spenders, if not then he will get to choose between staying there or heading to Southampton, if even they can get the ownership issues sorted. I really don't see us getting involved.}

Hip? Good grief, those shirts are utter rubbish. It this what we are to expect from Warrior? If it is, the money wasn't worth it. Shame we don't have Nike doing the shirts, at least they understand less can be more. These are one if the few shirts I won't be buying for me or our lad. Shame the club didn't have the guts to stand up and say they were tripe.

Hey eds, putting all the rumours regarding Mkhitaryan aside, what do u make of him as a player? Imo he is a hybrid version of Lampard and Fabregas, can play CAM and a second striker, like Fabregas when playing for Spain. He also seems to get into good positions into the box and scores loads of goals, just like Lampard. your thoughts plz. {Ed052's Note - I've answered this}

Hi Eds,
First post, so please go easy!
Just seen on the tv website that Munich might offer Robben in px for Suarez. I know they were linked a few weeks back due to the 'Pere/Pep' link (although could have just been lazy journalism!), and the story originates from the s*n, but can you see any merit in it?
If so, what would be your realistic valuation of Robben based on his age and contract length?
I've actually always liked him, going right back to his Chelsea days, and as he is an attacking winger, he would fit quite nicely into a front 3 supporting someone like Sturridge. Would definitely mean that we could let Downing go (perhaps as makeweight for Benteke?) and then use Ibe/Sterling more along with any other younger/support wingers we pick up.
Thanks

Hi Eds! Love the site, frequently on here to check what's happening. I live in Germany and the German paper Focus (credible paper) is reporting that there could be a swap on the cards: Suarez to Bayern with Robben going the other way. Have you heard anything about this? Thanks in advance! {Ed052's Note - no, and I dont see it happeninv. Robben wouldn't want to come, we wouldn't want him, wages would be silly and he is old. }

I thought this was a transfer rumours page. Ed can you set up a "slate the new away kit page " please. I think all of you haters are missing the point, this kit is designed to confuse and distress the opposition. Defenders will be too busy trying to figure out what the magic eye picture is to notice coutinho running through them. Its razor ruddock eating a big mac by the way, enough to scare any defense. Also I've heard that the third kit was based on the classic 80s game tetris, with built in speakers that play the tetris theme. Now come on, who doesn't like tetris. Anyway back to proper, all be it, unbelievable transfer rumours. Apparently, jimmy floyd hasselbank has hinted at a return to top flight football, and his favourate food is a big pan of scouse, make of this what you will.

Reading between the lines (or just Sparky the dogs twitter page).
Jonjonjo Shelvey is leaving for West Ham, after Carroll completes his move.
Skrtel is returning to Zenit or joining Napoli.
Agger is tempted by Monaco.
I must say the first two I'd be happy to see leave (plus AC), but loosing Agger would be a big blow. I've never known a club change its whole central defence in one summer before so we really could be setting a president. On a plus point we've scouted so many and with the funds generated by those sales alone, we could certainly afford Papadopolous and another top class partner, if they'd come.
I didn't want wholesale changes this summer, but it's certainly looking possible. Selling Suarez, Agger, Skrtel, Coates, AC and Jonjo would generate over £100 million, which is a huge sum. We'd probably need most of it to reinvest and build a team, but you're looking at 4 or 5 new players in the starting 11, which is surely very bold.

Agger will not be tempted at all.
He refused £500k from his old club Brondby (money they owed him) because he knew they were in financial difficulty.
Its not about the money to him. He also turned down City's big bucks last summer.

Look up some of his matches on youtube by searching Mkyitarian v.
I think he has a poor first touch and all round play is very poor. Top finisher though and runs beyond the opposition a lot. He would complement coutinho but he wouldn't be my pick at that price. I'd rather Eriksen and get a striker like Muriel who could replace Suarez.

I wanted to ask the Eds or Macca, when we signed Suarez, we had no Champions League football. I can't remember if Ajax did or not. They probably did or closer than us to being in there at least, yet he still came. So has the pulling power since 2011 of LFC declined? i'm talking along of the lines of Sanchez or Higuain etc coming to replace Suarez. Is it really that far fetched to be able to attract one of those to us without CL football for one season? what's the general view of LFC status in Europe at the moment?
Believable0
Unbelievable0
That it will take far more than one season for lfc to get back into the CL
Agree0
Disagree0
The difference between your two examples is the country/league in question. It can be argued for a player like Suarez that Ajax to LFC is a step up in league, competition level, world exposure. While a move from Barca/Real is La Liga to LFC in EPL is at best a sideways move in all categories and a step down once champions league is factored in.
This is why LFC can still attract top players despite no CL, just not from the other top leagues/teams.
Agree0
Disagree0
It's been more than one without CL football.
These players will have options other than us who are in the CL
FSG have a performance related pay structure other CL sides will not.
Anyone we are interested in, Spurs have sudden interest. They offer London base, European football, a manager who is respected around Europe (i prefer BR personally) and seem to offer more money.
Lets face the truth. I hope every season this is going to be our season. But to be honest we cannot compete with either Manchester club or Chelsea and this leave one CL place with both Arsenal Nd Spurs also ahead. Again I'll hope for top four and believe its possible but all these teams will be improving with top players where as we will lose ours and replace with prospects, good players but another transitional season so why would Benzema or Eriksen join?

Yeah fair points. Thanks for the feedback guys.

Them 2 are the exact type of payers who we could get because they have had lalot of pressure on them at big clubs with champions league football. I have a theory on why our away strip is so ghastly, I believe it has been made out of spite!
When we decided to leave Adidas (they claimed they left us as we couldn't match their ambition or something) the final shirt they made was that god awful blue and white one.
Now warrior know that they won't make their money back that they invested so they have purposefully gone out of their way to make this monstrosity!

Im not a fan of the kits at all but I don't put any stock in your theory. Warrior is a buisness and is trying to draw more clubs (they only have us and Sevilla right now if i'm not mistaken) so why would they hurt their brand on purpose? They Wouldnt. Someone just royally screwed up in designing these (Away/3rd) kits and noone at LFC had the brains to say "no, try again"
