we have only lost 2 games. kept two clean sheets in last two games. next two games are hard ones must admit but knowing liverpool can pull 3 points in one of them. then 6 nice ones to the new year. man city man u top two. liverpool arsenal spurs and chelsea fight for the next two. we have all three of them at home in second half of the season. we need 72 pts for cl. we have 19 from 11. if we could reach 34 in first half of the season with new players bedding in and stevie g missing then i would be v confidant of cl place. rome wasnt built in a day, man city took a few years to get there. fergie took 7 years. things are moving in right direction. remember where we were 13 months ago.

I have heard on the grapevine, there are potential new owners waitng in the wings. They are prepared to give the manager 500million for players and are promising to build a 75,000 seater stadium with the 1st spade to be in the ground by january next year, I really really hope they take over the club because they sound just the ticket to take over from the madness going on at boardroom level at the moment. They are american partners I've heard YE HAH, there names GEORGE GILLETT and TOM HICKS!! What score was it today i've forgotten, be careful what you moan for you just might get it!!!!

Think what we are really missing at moment is real width and pace. Even with Downing in team he has often played on the right cutting in. Against teams that are playing counter attacking football Adam is not required and therefore need a creative attacking midfielder when playing at home - someone like Eriksen

What a load of rubbish has been written. We've spent a fortune on players like Adam,Henderson,Downing, Carroll,Suarez and they're all a waste of money. That is the general concensus. I read it every day on this site and I'm sure that all the players are aware of what is being said about them. I know what a rubbish team is - the first match I saw was way back in 1955. The players I have mentioned have all played in full Internationals and are among the best in the country. At the moment they are not playing as a complete unit and don't the 'supporters' let them know it. It might not become as good as we would like but the present squad is good enough to qualify for Europe and begin to improve. The fact is that the players that we dream of, Hazard etc are NOT going to sign for Liverpool. In fact, I firmly believe that within a couple od seasons the majority of the Liverpool squad is going to come from Academy players. The big-money transfers will be a thing of the past. The owners are encouraging the management to sign promising players from all over the world. Bijev has already signed and soo so will Bueno. I no longer live in the UK but I watch the matches on the PC and although I am disappointed with results lately I am sure that things will change soon. The biggest property that any side needs is luck and we haven't had much of that in our favour. It will come and things will only get better. GET BEHIND THE PLAYERS AND ENCOURAGE THEM - not
slag them off because their names are not Gerrard or Carragher.

Promising like Andy Carroll/get back on the dutch cakes lad

Mate you have it wrong

Gerrard and Carra get slagged off the most on here

I was the only one to wish gerrard a speedy recovery from injury and to condradulate him on the birth of his 3rd daughter

Most think the two local lads are washed up and need to be disposed of.

dark shadow

Andy Carroll is just a total mistake just like Kenny most of you fans are not true fans the true fans heard the crowd turning on their so called legend.

Another answer from a nameless "I'm from Liverpool - I'm a comedian". Be constructive or be quiet! You're probably one of the first to boo the players when they make a mistake. Just remember - Liverpool Football Club will still be big when you are long gone.

I wish we would have used that 35 mil for Van persie instead of carrol ! we need someone who can finish like him , imagine him and suarez upfront we would walk into the champions league! wish he was at us ..

I agree, Van Persie is awesome and I would say best in the league better than Suarez as he scores goals

Speedy

Yes but he is crippled for half the season add him to gerrard and sh1tfor half the season

Pardoe

Just a few months ago, alot of people on this site said they would not even take van persie

My take on KK's signings....
Suarez - no argument there - world-class player
Carroll - I think he has the potential - most big-guy target-man style strikers don't usually reach their peak til about 25 and I think he has whats needed to be be the next Drogba - but for £35m surely you have to expect a bit more than he offers right now?
Downing - he's supposed to be at his physical peak - but he just looks predictable and ordinary. £20m is about £12m too much in my opinion.
Adam - this guys just not a liverpool player - he stood out in a championship side but he looks unfit and too slow to cut it with the big boys.
Jose Enrique - good signing, solid enough and worth what was paid in my opinion
Bellamy - should be starting in my opinion.

Agreed.

I agree except for the Carrol part. If you have played football before you will know defence starts from attack and the attackers should be closing players down all the time. He simply doesnt do that as he is fat lazy and slow. I suppose its not his fault but his build, and thats why we should never had bought him. He simply cant hold the ball up or pass or move quick enough. Yes he is OK (not great) at headers but wtf he doesnt do much with his head. He will never be the next Drogba NEVER. He has no speed and intellegence. All he wants to do is get on the piss. As for Adam I agree that he is too slow and once again overweight but he ran the most yards in yesterdays game and I think with more coaching from Kenny will become good.
The reality of it is that KK signings have been poor. Henderson, Downing, Carrol, are poor poor poor players. At least Henderson has time on his hands...but does he?? He keeps getting dropped or taken off...that wont do him any good not to mention playing in the wrong positions.
I think KK is at fault for these tpes of games or maybe its the coaching staff as they dont seem to get the players up for the games and we start like we have won and play slow football. Teams like Swansea park the bus and yes they passed the ball around but they rarely threatened. Thats because we let them have the ball and did not move the ball ourselves fast enugh. We sat too deep and they found players in the whole because other players were not moving enough to close them down.
Not to mention Suarez had his worse game for us since he joined. He looked disinterested and if hes not moving around up front like he normally does then lord help us because Carrol doesnt.

All we have to hope for this season is to finish high enough for is a Uefa place. No top player will join us if we are not in europe again. If we are lucky and results go our way or maybe I should say start scoring I might start eating my words, buts thats unlikely with the crop of players.
Going forward I would play Kelly at right back and Johnson right midfield. He seems to be our only natural right sided player, unless Kyut plays every game. I would also give Bellamy a run on the left and drop Downing.
And can we now stop asking for Johnson from Man City,,,he has just signed a new 5 year deal with them so I dont see him wanting to move....good because that would have been another wasted $20m

Angry Red

Adeybyour,Aguero,Bid for even pavlachenko/Defoe-Forget overall Packages,OR The mobile Carroll for 35m!Just been in town with a Leeds and Spurs fan_hard to argue!

If you have time ED1 ...

Could you answer this question please.

What do you think Liverpool are missing at the moment? Considering everything from the fans, coaching and players?

Much appreciated.

Lee YNWA {Ed001's Note - for one the players are suffering from a lack of confidence, they are terrified to make a mistake and be crucified by the fans online. You can see it in Henderson's play in particular, the lad is so desperate not to make mistakes he is not able to perform at his best. I doubt that will be rectified with the modern fans propensity to scream like a demented child after every performance that isn't perfect. Secondly we miss an out and out goal scorer, someone to put the ball into the back of the net more often than not.}

Agreed with Ed.

Thanks for the response Mr ED1 - wholeheartedly agree re the fans. No point discussing it any further...just a real shame. Morgan isn't ready by a long shot imo. I can't see us going out and spending a fortune on a striker with our prospects, can you?(that includes Carroll) I guess that's what Comolli gets paid for tho! Nice to let that out btw? :) Lee YNWA {Ed001's Note - to be honest mate, I am embarrassed and ashamed by the modern day fan's childish reactions to every result. A win is a sign that we are going to win everything, a loss means we are about to get relegated and a draw is the end of the world apparently. It gets to the point where I just don't bother editing the sites much any more because I can't be bothered with them. They are spoilt little brats expecting everything handed to them on a plate and have no understanding of how to be patient.}

Completely agree Ed. I've only supported Liverpool properly for the last couple of seasons because I'm only 16 but when I first started visiting this site around that time all of the posters were more reasoned but now it's just getting to them point that after every game where we dont win the fans react like we are in the relegation places. I'm not saying I was happy with the performance tonight but it's obviously a work in progress and we need to keep working but I'm happy with the playing staff for our current aims of top 4 barring a right winger and that it just seems to be a lack of confidence. I'm also sure that we have the best manager in king kenny
RedRush

Ed who would you suggest as an out and out goal scorer and are we likely to see one bought: thanks ed {Ed001's Note - Higuain, though there is no chance of getting him. The main aim of the scouts this season is to find a goalscorer, Luuk De Jong was seen as one for the future, not originally as a January target, but he may well end up being brought in as his form has attracted so much interest.}

Times change unfortunately, I just hope for the life of me that our fans don't start acting like Man U fans(if they're not already) .. cos we're getting close. I remember last season when Man U were going through their Rooney saga, close to leaving an all that. His actual statement was "If Rooney leaves, I'm going to support Spurs" .. Sums them up perfect right? haha. Btw Ed, don't leave us! See all you whiny fans,? look what you've done! ;) Tnx for the replies ED Lee YNWA {Ed001's Note - any time mate, nice chatting with you.}

Great to see Ed001 telling it how it is, had a look on here before i went out bout 5ish and i thought Liverpool had been relegated. This is the reason i wasn't to keen on Kenny getting the job, now people want instant success and if they don't it's time to start throwing their toys out of the pram. I couldn't believe the Kenny out posts.
You're bang on about Henderson too, i bet if Liverpool's next few games were behind closed doors the lad would do just fine, same goes for Downing.

always a red

we should get
steven taylor - solid centre back would be a good local lad to replace carra
huddlestone - solid cm extremely physical not getting 1st team football and despite how much i do appreciate lucas i dont know why but i can see him leaving the club soon such as these psg rumours.
a. johnson - be perfect for right wing pacer with good left foot and an eye for goal.
finally a flair player in eriksen who isnt selfish can pick a pass type of player i think suarez needs instead of carroll am sorry but i just dont see at all why we bought carroll he had a good start to a season and suddenly we jump at newcastle with 35 mill for him am sorry but we should of just not panic bought and played kuyt and suarez as we actually did for the end of the season :S
for 35 million we could have bought another world class striker in the summer like higuian, benzema, gomez.....
personally id take tevez with open arms granted i dont agree with how hes behaved its appauling but saying as he cant go anywhere as man city wont sell for a lowered price and few clubs seem to want him, we should use it and take him on loan til summer as am sure he will want to prove himself
1. to football fans up and down the country
2. to show man city what they are missin out on

be a much better option to have with suarez upfront temporarily then carroll

we need a proper creative attacking midfielder aswell today against swansea it was apparent as ever all the other top 4/5 teams have one at least

man city
nasri
silva
milner & toure etc..

man utd
rooney drops into this role
nani
ashley young

chelsea
ramires
malouda
mata

tottenham
modric
van der vaart

who do we have ?
gerrard ( when fit)
henderson?
just bellamy and downing really and they are out n out wingers

with regards to tevez look at adebayor
caused problems at city went to tottenham and is been a brilliaant addition for them so far

we could do what theyve done but with tevez is all am saying
or am i chatting rubbish? lol

I think you have missed a certain team in Arsenal, who will finish above you this year. As usual....

The henderson? isnt meant to slag off the lad its jsut i think he should be a Central attackin midfielder whos being played in the wrong position

Personally for me good realistic targets would be:

Like you said steven taylor. He would come reasonably cheap as well.
Moussa sissoko as we could also get him for a good price at has a lot to offer.
Adam johnson would be a good signing but i guess he is to expensive at this moment in time. Some people may think i'm crazy but do you think there could be a chance of getting milito of Inter milan on loan.He would not be a pernament signing but could do a job.We need a good goal poacher/finisher and we has a lot of experience at doing this.I think he would be a great short term option.

Danny {Ed001's Note - if we sign Steven Taylor we may as well give up now! He is awful and the worst play acting cheat I have ever seen, he makes Rivaldo look like an honest upstanding guy.}

May aswell give up now?
hes that bad ?
is that why newcastle have the best defensive form in the league? {Ed001's Note - because of one player? Certainly not, but that is surely obvious?}

What do you think about deigo milito ed?
just for a short term option if possible. And i agree about hendo being scared about the fans.I feel for the lad because if when he puts in a decent performance he gets slatted. It will be really difficult against chelsea after the international break but i can't help but feel if we win that could give them the confidence to push on

Danny {Ed001's Note - Milito might just be a bit old, too short term for my liking and I would worry he would just be another Morientes.}

Ed001, what would be your ideal formation and cm pairing with current squad if all fit? Would you play Hendo cm?

Fensh {Ed001's Note - with all fit I would play Carroll up top, Suarez and Bellamy up with him. Downing/Adam (depending on the opposition), Lucas and Gerrard in midfield. Back four would be Kelly, Carra/Coates (again depending on the opposition), Agger and Enrique. Yes I would play Hendo as cover for Gerrard, mostly centre. I just feel that Bellamy deserves the chance to play and this is the system that would allow us to get the best from him, Suarez and allow Gerrard more license to get forward.}

Perhaps mate. I'm just finding it difficult for liverpool to get a realistic target who affordable but is a top quality finisher and at the moment we can't really attract them.We might have to get de jong but i worry that in the prem he wouldn't be good enough. But i definitely think he is worth getting.Come on messi sign for us now!! lol.

Danny

I watched the game on the Internet and was gutted. I tried to put it out of my mind, had a meal with the missus and watched X Factor, then Match of the Day. She's gone back out to the Bonfire Party in the street and I must admit, I've had a few drinks but I'm gutted even more now. I'm not going to have a go at Kenny, as we only have to look at Whisky nose celenbrating 25 years today and we know he was on the verge of the sack after 4 years in charge. However, the players neeed to have a good look at themselves. If we had been playing Man Ytd today do you think we'd have started at such a slow tempo? No chance! Because it was Swanse

What a sad,sad saturday you had.Didnt you do anything interesting?

How do you know sir alex ferguson was close to being sacked after 4 years

05 Nov 2011 21:53:36
young guns cody, morgen and suso must be get a chance in the first team rather then so call star. I am sure they will do well then carroll and Henderson. Downing cross make me sick today.

05 Nov 2011 21:50:27
Just why cant people have a bit of patience and above all a bit of common DOG ! This is the problem with the modern day so called supporter, they can never see the bigger picture. The team will just pick up these negative vibes and will never truly express themselves. Just for F*** SAKE get behind our special club and we might enjoy some success.

Back to back home draw with newly promoting team can make u mad. but mind your language Mr.

No cup in 6 years how patient do you want us to be,2 draws against lower teams my patients has run out,the team has no creativity, the players are poor eg caroll, downing.adam, henderson and a manager who has not got a clue
i am a fed up liverpool fan who has lost the faith {Ed001's Note - 2 draws is enough? That is beyond sad and pathetic.}

Back to back home draw with religation zone team is hurt.

I'm 58 yrs old and i've supported lfc for as long as i can remember and i mean supported the team, i was at Heysel and suffered along with everyone else the european ban that followed, i've always supported the managers we've had even 'woy'- taking the opinion that they're better equipped than me to make the decisions that they do, but and there has to be a but now, it's got to the point where I can't see any improvement week on week it's supposed to be a work in progress i get that but this season apart from one or two good performances we have been poor, we are now a mid table team, we won't finish fourth and in all honesty if this is the case and we finish outside the top four then kk will have failed, i believe that top 4 was the requirement by the new owners and what happens then. if dalgleish does fail then at least the monkey will be off the back and we can start again and the new manager will have no baggage as woy did. personally I was sorry to see Benitez go, he was a better tactician than dalgleish although i do admit he lost it a bit towards the end. we have bought alot of players, mostly british, in the close
season and really the only ones to make any impact have been the foreign ones adam in my opinion is the worst no pace, can't tackle goes missing supposed to be a playmaker the guy is a poor excuse for a liverpool player, henderson i like he'll be a good player given time and carroll too will come good, downing will never make it i'm afraid paid double what he's worth. there will be no prizes at the end of this season guys only more heightened expectations for next year which will probably once again be dashed 10 games in. I am entitled to my opinions whatever the Eds think, this site is about opinions
i just don't think we're good enough! {Ed001's Note - you can't even spell the man's name! How difficult is to spell the name Dalglish? Makes it look like you aren't really a fan of the club and makes it difficult to trust your opinion due to that. Which is a shame.}

I can't wait for the next match

I bet it will be a draw

I bet it will also be a tale of woe

Shouda, wouda, couda, intercede for us budda sort of thing.

The recriminations will flow once again - Brilliant!

Until we get a striker we won't win matches we don't have a player who can finish off a game.

Adam looks to heavy to run around

Henderson does not know where he should run around to.

Downing has drifted into the deepths of nowhere

Carroll looks like playing is difficult

Suarez is looking for free kicks, penalties and red cards for opposion defenders

Reina has totally lost confidence and looks poor

Dracula and sick note look like a central defensive partnership made in hell

Ah the futures so bright I gotta wear shades

Captain fantastic better hurry back, he's the only one who can resue us from this hellhole.

The Lone Ranger

Here is the thing,
Kk has said he doesn't know where to play Henderson : why buy him
Downing has done nothing since the Sunderland game
Adam is clearly not a box to box mid
Reina and the defence are poor it is clear we need carra and that Kelly carra agger and Jose are the best partnership but kk doesn't see it that way
Carroll and Suarez well one just doesn't seem to do anything whilst the other tries too hard
Gerrard a question will he recover full fitness quick enough and can he still be the rescuer? Wrapped in cotton wool again
Bean

Mr. Bean... Reina and the defence are fine. Suarez is immense, Carroll, Downing and Adam are not playing at the level they can and Henderson at 20 is still learning. The players we have are good enough the tactics were not the best but Kenny is trying to get the team to gel and form partnerships all over i.e. Enrique - Downing, Carroll - Suarez, Adam - Lucas, Skrtel - Agger. Swansea are the most effective pass and move team in the premiership up to the oppositions box hence why Kenny said the fans need to hold on. The players got nervous and started to miss place passes, hell even Enrique looked out of sorts. There are two thirds of the season left to get into the top four and with the international break Steve and Kenny have some time now to think about how they can get the team to be more potent in attack. Personally with the personnel we have, I do not think 4-4-2 is the way to go. We should go back to 4-2-3-1, with Bellamy up front, Suarez behind him, Downing left, Maxi right. You would then see a true pass and move style with Suarez dictating play from the hole. This will provide balance and also produce a 3 man triangle in midfield which will aid regaining possession against the better teams and also passing sides like swansea/spurs. Without pace, understanding and chemistry which takes seasons to create - 4-4-2 against decent sides and sides with 3 in midfield becomes too predictable and easy to disrupt, and once you lose your flow its far too easy for our defence and midfield to choose the hoof ball up to Carroll which more often than not enevitably leads to the loss of possession, snow balls anxiety and more passes are misplaced / bad tackles increase. Maccini switched City's play 2 or 3 times to get their result today, Steve/Kenny switched once at 70mins and it wasn't enough. He has great faith in the players that played which I admire, however i think he needs to re-work his ideas for the present as well as the future, as we could well end up dissapointed at the end of the season. We have the personnel in my opinion and hopefully a fresh face in Jan of top quality will help the team but its up to Steve/Kenny to start getting the best out the players we have by being more bold like they were during their first 6 months by changing formation to counter act the oppostion etc because it's all well and good concentrating on the movements you want your team to be good at but if they not performing as palnned you have to be bold and change it.

Jets sweet dreamer its just one of those things you put down to a lack of reality

Clearly there are no quick fixes

And no money to do a man citeh and buy a team of superstars

Were in limbo and will be for years

05 Nov 2011 21:44:45
"you are quick to slag me off"

Not half as quick as you are to criticise the team after a bad result! Every one of your posts is a criticism, everyone from the first game of the season! We have played some pretty good football this season but you have never praised the team, management or individual players but as soon as we put in a bad performance you start with the rubbish again against the same players.

JRG

Discussing footie is one thing my friend but insulting a fellow fan is another. it is extremely bad to use that kind of obscenity against a fellow man. if you dont agree with my post, you can always tell me in proper way, instead of going the way of ............... i have this fear since summer about the team and it stemmed from the signings we made; i have been trying real hard to shake it off but it refuses to go and the results have been somewhat. i was looking for a challenging liverpool not top four looking liverpool because of the money that was made available to the manager. am quite disappointed with the way things are going and i can expressing my fear and frustration. anyway, i have decided to stay away from expressing myself on this forum, i dont appreciate people bad mouthing( using demeaning expression such as the one you used) me for stating the obvious. football is football,it is what is..............fyi, dont make a deity out of mere mortal. God created the air and everyother, no man can lay a claim to it. good night friend! {Ed001's Note - only God I know of wore number 9!}

05 Nov 2011 21:44:04
iverpool miss 2 speedy wings. Lavezzi , Elia can help the team. but we didnt use our money in good way. the defensive midfielder we already have. Lucas, spearing meirles was good enough. dont have to bring adam , henderson and downing. one good striker suarez carroll is a rush buy and he not deserve to play the top lavel. so far only one game i find out carroll can play football.
one top class striker and 2 winger soon or same last year story no 6 or no 7.

05 Nov 2011 21:22:04
I am totally pissed off with people on this site! Everyone is entitled to there opinion and you should express it, but I can't believe the way people slag Kenny off about his tactics his signinings etc as soon as a couple of points are dropped. OK it's dissapointing of course it is but look at the bigger picture be patient and trust Kenny to get it right. BECAUSE HE WILL.

Waro

I am sorry, but the big picture is we have not done well in the transfer market, the team has no pace or flair and we look disjointed and play pedestrian pass backwards constantly football. Suarez is our only world class player. Kenny will be out after we finish out of top 4 and we will bring a foreigner in and start building again... I see another 21 years of waiting.

But hey, we will still always support, but don't have to live in denial.

Fensh {Ed001's Note - you could actually try supporting instead of whining....}

Nail....Head.....And hit, all the best

Ed, I do support mate. I love Lfc, but I am also realistic. We have an avg team and expect too much. Hence the players are so nervous, u can see it.

Is stating the obvious whining? I think I'm quite fair, praise when due, critisism when due. But I always support.

Fensh {Ed001's Note - you do nothing but whine on here! You say the players are nervous, then you bitch about their performances. Why don't you try backing them and try being a part of them becoming less nervous. Instead you are a part of the problem.}

Recently we have been playing good but missing bucketload of chances. Imagine when we go through a bad patch which happens to every team. Then people would be going ballistic if they are not alredy

The Dark Knight

I wouldnt call that performance good mate

Conor

We have been playing good but not taking our chances, today was not good

Like i say, wait till we have a slump

The Dark Knight

Don't get all this 'we playing such good football' talk. I am bored with the slow build-up and constant back passing tactics. Never mind the let's sit deep, not press them and let them attack us nonsense.

Fensh

I agree to a certain extent that we should be taking are chances. But i believe these draws are the slump, and we will get better and more consistent over the season.

Conor

Dont by suprised if we get a max of 3 points from our next 3 games, chels away, city home, fulham away

05 Nov 2011 21:13:56
I can understand a lot of the fans frustation on here, because that performance just wasn't good enough.

But one of the reasons that i think could be behind the sketchy home form is to do with the crowd. Now don't bite my head off, but we have looked a far better side when we've played away from home this season.

Maybe the players are feeling the pressure playing in front of 45,000 understandably expectant fans who get nervous as the games ticks on...

They are other reasons of course, but its just a thought, and our away form has been much better in my eyes...

Stu.

What do you want the fans at anfield to do then sit in silence or be singing and cheering for 90 mins when it is clear that the play doesn't deserve it?
The players should be able to deal with atmosphere, they have all played in front of massive crowds before

Well it is quite common that the atmosphere of the ground transfers to the players on the pitch..

There just seemed to be much more freedom in their play against West Brom.

I'm definitely reserving any judgment until christmas anyway..

Thanks
Stu

I do think we look a bit anxious when things are not going well and the players could pick up this from the fans. I'm not blaming fans but we do lack leaders and have our 2 biggest ones missing at present.

By x-mas season will be over, out of cups and no chance of top 4. Mark my words.

Well we wont be out of the FA Cup.

The Irish Rover

Yeah we will we will get city, scummers etc away the usual fixed draw rubbish

Mr unsigned, no i won't 'mark your words' as your quite simply being pathetic there. For once, get behind the team after a bad result instead of giving this doom and gloom attitude. That attitudes is directly contributing to theses performances!

Stu.

05 Nov 2011 21:11:51
Undefeated in 8 games? back to back clean sheets!
Thats 2 positive points, but thats it really. This is nothing new, drawing or losing games against lesser teams. Its been going on for years, not just under Kk. You can feel the anxiety in the crowd & the team. The problem now is that we have put real pressure on ourselves to get good results against Chelsea & Citeh, knowing Liverpool, we will probably win. Six reasonably easy points dropped at home is going to cost us dearly at the end. A bit gutted to be honest, but Rome wasnt built in a day. I have 100% faith, but im the complete optimist!

The Irish Rover

We're a mid table avg team with avg players. Let's accept it and get on with it. Look fwd to the next 21 years.

Is there any reason every other teams keeper has an absolute stormer against us? I can't remember the other team cocking up against us...
Although there is no excuse it is getting rather annoying

I think the same

The Dark Knight

That have a stormer as we only have 1/2 decent if any shots in the game
Vorm is a great keeper
We are simply not good enough in fron of goal

I just have the feeling in every game that we don't look like scoring unless we get a penalty or a scoreable freekick

This is my true opinion of what is going wrong. The only player who will consistently score for us is surarez (I know he has missed alot) and maybe carroll if he comes good. Gerrard is injured so cant score.

We needed to buy wingers who could score eg nani, young, mata. Downing, henderson lucas wont get us goals, our defenders wont either.

All opposition markers need to do is mark suarez because the others couldnt hit a barn door.

Been the same for the last few years as was gerrard and torres before

Opinions welcome

The Dark Knight

Year after year I say we need more pacey flair players, but lfc only buys mr nice guy consistently average hard working players with no creativity...

Fensh {Ed001's Note - wow, such insight you show. What was Babel when he was bought then? He was a pacey flair player, didn't work out all that well though did it?}

It is not about pace, its about players chipping in with goals

I hate Man Utd but for them who can score

Nani, rooney, welbeck (not enough games really), young, valencia, vidic, fletcher, hernandez

Ok Ed, ill give u my insight. I didn't even know who Babel was when we signed him and he was a cf not a winger where we played him. My insight also said that Mata, Elia, Marin, Reus etc would have been a better buy than Downing who has always been avg. My insight also tells me that if we buy De Jong, he will be another Kuyt - solid yet unspectacular = no trophies. I'm not being negative, but we have an avg team and expect too much from them. Is being realistic not being a supporter or whining?

Fensh {Ed001's Note - actually Babel used to play on the left wing for Ajax, not as a striker. You are being negative, you have no idea that any of those players would be better, but you have decided they must be because Downing has hit bad form. You clearly don't know much about De Jong, yet you have decided he is not good enough. Then you wonder why our players lack confidence!}

Don't even mention the abomination that was ryan babel....every time he got the ball i wished he would do something right for once in his life

Haven't posted on here for a while, but an avid reader nonethless.

Let's get things in perspective guys and gals .. We're level on points with Arsenal - who have high expectations too ya know? We're 3 points off 4th, with Chelsea up next. In my humble opinion we have a cracking chance of making 3rd/4th, cos lets be honest, Newcastle...great start and everything - but top 4? nah. Arsenal and Spurs are our rivals without a doubt.

I know I might get criticized for this, but Anfield has become so so quiet in the last year or so? Anyone agree? I know everyone wants us to win, but the nervous energy is obviously having a massive effect on the players. My horrible Mank, Spuds and Arsenal mates have even started to mention it! When rival fans start mocking the ATMOSPHERE at Anfield, you know something is wrong right?

Finally the players ... Well, lets start at the back :

Reina - He looks a little lost, but can never doubt his ability.
Johnson - Getting there...Kelly next year
Skrtel - I like him, but he needs to bulk up, he seems to get out musled too much
Agger - World Class
Enrique - Brilliant, just briiliant
Henderson/Kuyt - Both work hard, the latter more than most. But BOTH lack any speed or creativity a WINGER/RM needs??
Lucas & Adam - Not the way forward I'm afraid. Gerrard needs to get fit and QUICK. Also buy Sissokho the partner Gerrard.
Downing - Not sure to be honest, He has what it takes, but it's not quite happening yet, be patient with him
Suarez - Off day, we can forgive him right? haha
Carroll - I feel sorry for the lad, he didn't set his price tag. He will be a monster one day.

We are still undefeated at home lads, that's the main positive I can take out of today! :)

Please do not get on the panic brigade! We were in the relegation zone last Christmas, yet Kenny almost grabbed us 4th by the end of the season....Lee YNWA

Eds, just wondered how far do you think Adam Morgan is from featuring in the first team?
Bean {Ed001's Note - that depends on the January window I think, I think he is very likely to go out on loan for the second half of the season myself.}

Cheers ed would it possibly be the same situation with sterling et al {Ed001's Note - I don't believe Sterling is old enough to go out on loan is he? His problem is that he seems to be struggling a bit at the moment, it happens with kids, they have times when they struggle.}

questions!!posers!!

1. who sanctioned the transfer of carroll (35m)?

2. what was the rationale behind the purchase of henderson?

3. is henderson better than jay spearing or connor coady in the centre of the midfield or raheem sterling on the right?

4. what does henderson bring to lfc on the pitch apart from sideway and back passes?

5. why does kk keep playing some certain players in the team despite their poor showing downing et al?

6. can you describe our summer buys in one word?

7. can kenny be trusted with future transfer?

8. The Buy British Experiment..... "they will bed in right away" theory.......is it working?

9. are we expecting too much from kk and the team?

10. what is our realistic chance of making top four? note: using scale 1 to 10.

11. how many seconds of time does it charlie adam to turn?

12. is carroll better than ngoo?

pls, i demand honest answers from you guys.

Nigeria fan (tooblac) {Ed001's Note - perhaps you should learn a little about the players before passing inane judgements on them. Such as Sterling's ability on the right is moot as he plays on the left. If you lack that kind of basic knowledge, how can we trust your judgement on the team?}

For god sake people are being so dramatic. I think your ambitions are far to high for this season. All we are lacking is a natural finisher and hopefully in january if this continues we can get one.I see that area as the main problem and the moment. We are building a squad for years to come and hendo will be part of that like it or not.The likes of jonjo shelvey is getting experience for the future and i'm sure the theres you mentioned will make it.This was a disappointing result but come on there is 27 games left.

Danny

Why go all around the houses to basically slag the team off! Just give your opinion or are you scared? We are a work in progress so get off the lads and kenny's back and get behind the team. WE WILL COME GOOD.

Waro

Why don't you crawl back under the rock you came from? After every bad result or bad performance you are on here spouting the same rubbish. You haven't be on here for a while as the performances have been good so you are obviously making up for lost time. You are now trying to whip up a storm against the players and management by stirring up peoples emotions which are obviously already very high. If you feel so strongly about this why don't you write banner with 'Kenny out' and go stand outside Anfield or Melwood? It's easy to be critical on a public forum.

You act as if the team and the fans owe you an explanation or personal apology - and don't ever refer to the man as KK if you are going to write utter garbage about him, you're not fit to breath the same air as KK.

JRG

@ JRG
i will not join issues with you, i will the high road on this one. this is a forum where one can speak his/her mind but that does not apply to you. you dont know me but you are quick to slag me off. my friend, be cool. it is only a game man and nobody is above criticism. a manager is as good as his last result. and dont ever use that kind of expression(fit to breath the same air) for a fellow man again. we cant all be blind to the obvious and mind you mr. forum, i post only on weekends man.

Question:

1. Would you want 'Nigeria Fan' to represent LFC in a football fan vs football fan 'Who has the better club' debate?

Not one to rub salt in someone's wounds but surely today has made you realise you guys arent as good as you seem to think? I mean yeah us United fans have had the few under-par performances but come on, Swansea? Really? And what happened to super Suarez?

RedDevil92

Suarez is allowed to have an off day. Unfortunetly he is the only one who has been really performing recently along with enrique. But there still a long way to go so i'm not to concerned

Danny

RedDevil92,
But you don't know how good we think we are. It's a myth that we are all deluded and think we're as good as you think we think we are.
A bit like all United fans coming from London.

the team meshcherano, alonso, reisa, reara. gerrard what a midfield we have.

now hendo fell like lost, adam i bit over weight, downing 70 minute player. weasting too much time in complain. after use of £100m I dont fell we have a better team. please guys dont bring out roys team. that was team of fulham not liverpool.

What!?

Sorry pal, atleast those players can spell

05 Nov 2011 19:57:13
FFS people - give the team time to gel!!!

Also, what with the quotes of spending £100m.

How about taking into the money recouped from player sales and add the wages saved as well.

I think you'll find the nett spend is under £30m!!

Not bad when you consdier how much the first team and squad has been improved.

The strangest thing about our purchases this year is Andy imo.

I don't think he's cut out to play the football Kenny's after, which was clear when he was at Newcastle. Strange buy in hindsight!

Stu.

I just hate it when people go on about net spend- the bottom line is we have spent £100m on players. It is abundantly clear that the policy of buying British is not necessarily always the right one. {Ed001's Note - net spend is far more important than gross spend. After all it shows how much you have had to lose from the squad to bring in the players you have. It is called a balanced judgement, something most people seem to lack with their knee jerk, childish, spoilt brat wanting everything now, reactions to every performance.}

£100m been used its from player sale then who do we thanks Rafa ? the money in from player sale is rafas players. if a team use£100m they should be rock in the field. look at newcastle how much they spend they are rocking and i am sure they will beat us {Ed001's Note - what are you talking about? Newcastle have no pressure to succeed, so they are playing with freedom. Our players have 'supporters' like yourself, constantly on their back whining about every little thing and slagging every single buy off even before they played for us.}

05 Nov 2011 19:46:42
Convert the chances and WE will be top 4 I would even say top 3 come on kenny teach em how to find the net. There are some right idiots who watch football.

Ya and if Blackburn converted all their chances they would be 8th. What's your point?

Putting the ball in the back of the net is the hardest part of football.

Suarez has had as many shots as rooney but as scored half the amount and he is our best finisher just shows how thats our problem

Hi Ed's and Reds

I just want to say..I feckin love Liverpool..my club means everything to me and has done for the past 34 years..but i will never be called a non supporter because i dare speak my mind against KK..In my book he is JUST another manager of our great club..I am well aware of his history and what he has done for us..but lets be honest..he has done very little of note since Blackburn..and since then the game has moved on dramatically..very few foreign players(all mainly British)and no big money CL to try and get into..If KK had applied for another big clubs managerial position does anyone really on here think he would have got the job..ask yourselves this...because the answer is no..he got the job because we wanted him in..to lift and change the spirit and attitude at our club..and a job he done very well..but this is now..hes been given money too take us onward and upward..and to be honest i think it might be beyond him..i just fear the game has changed more than he thinks it has.

Never mind. When you play Swansea at the Liberty you can say you have played in Europe this season.

That Morgan misses a chance or has a bad first game then gets branded as useless or not good enough for lfc bye moron's...

At least we can give him a chance who knows what he may be capable of {Ed001's Note - with the fans on the back of every player who doesn't produce a moment of magic every couple of minutes? It would destroy the lad before he had even had a chance to find his feet.}

05 Nov 2011 19:40:31
*We've kept only ONE clean sheet at home in six games ( four in all eleven games)
*We drew at home with recently promoted Norwich and Swansea; failed to beat a Man Utd team that largely had most of their important players on the bench shipped in four goals to none at Spurs

*We haven't won a game at home in three games

*Are equal on points with an Arsenal team that lost their two best players in the summer, were ravaged by injuries and suspensions

It's been argued that our travails are due to "gelling issues".
I disagree.
This is a wholly unfounded, unsubstantiated claim (cliche, in fact).

The preponderance of evidence points to 1) misfiring forwards, 2) non-existent, let alone effective, wing play, 3) shoddy, erroneous individual defending, 4) a thrustless midfield resembling a snail operating thru the lumbering Adam and, moreover, 5) some questionable tactics and substitutions

Honestly I'm having difficulties understanding what Suarez and Carroll's profligacy, Downing and Henderson's futility and Dalglish's quite frankly ill-advised and naive tactics and decisions about subs have to do with the team "gelling".
Absolutely bullsh*t argument.

Arsenal lost Nasri, Fabregas and Clichy, brought in Jenkinson, Mertasacker, Santos, Arteta, Benayoun, Park and Chamberlain... first team players.
If there's a top six team that could said to have undergone massive changes and needs the time to integrate, it's them.
Yet, Arsenal have played well and got the results.

There shouldn't be any excuse for our team.
The amount of excuse after excuse being made for Kenny's appalling in all respects.

How hard can it be to do the right, honest thing: face the cold hard facts? Kenny more than once HAS cost this team through some of his very starkly ill-advised?
When are people going to have the honesty to admit some of the players bought in summer, albeit an improvement on what we had last season, aren't either a top 4 or league challenger's material? When?

No doubt 5/10 is an improvement on 3/10, but 8/10 is a far better improvement that 5/10. Point? Granted, we improved, but by no means to the extent we should have given the funds at hand.

I hate the git's guts, but van Der Sar's on the money: bar Enrique, the team didn't strengthen much.

Honestly, how many of you would've been impressed by Spurs/Arsenal buying Adam, Downing and Henderson?
Would you have sat down and took notice? Bet not.

My hope this season is that we perform respectfully and not embarass ourselves like in Rafa's last season.
I don't expect this team to finish in the top four.
The quality in the first team and the overall strength of the squad isn't good enough to mount and sustain a credible challenge for either the title or the top four.

Only in the event that Spurs and Chelsea have spectacular tumbles might we have an outside chance.
Even then, I'm not convinced of our ability to capitalise.
Spotting an opportunity and grabbing it with both hands seems to be foreign to our DNA.

Ah, well! what does a "pessimist", "moaner" "fickle" fan like me know, huh?

Baie dankie

Ray Burmeister

Cant argue with a word of that. Your right ray.

Went to the game and the performance lacked belief and the players did not want to make this happen always relying on someone else.

Kenny Dalglish I love him but we could see even 5 mins into the second half it was not right and Bellamy should have been brought on. Myself I would bring Spearing back into the side. At least he will bite into tackles and try and control the middle of the park. Adam is looking well off the pace. Henderson is also not a right mid. I would play three in the middle Spearing, Henderson and Gerrard when fit. Kuyt right and Bellamy left.

He needs to have some answers soon as after Chelsea and City we could be well off fourth.

We all could see what happened when Lucas was out of the team he is a must just like Suarez and pepe

What does Lucas offer when playing at home? Think about it.

05 Nov 2011 19:31:25
hendo has never impressed at righ wing. Why always he's used there. What the hell Downing is up to. his form seems to be getting even worse. It was a match really not worth to watch. Disappointed not to even win against Swansea. Sorry but we must concede, top 4 chance is most likely over. We need nothing but a miracle to get in there. And that too seems unlikely. Very Very Frustrated

Get rid of the new players 11 x games in ?

No kb not at all you will see all my post I have not called for kenny to go.
For me he is a manger and like anyother manger he should be judged on results.he should be given time and most importantly he needs to up his game.I read his post match comments and I was very happy.he clearly agreed that this performance was not good.
He is our manager we should criticise him for what team does and then judge him at end of season.
For me I have always said if no champions league then kenny should be asked to go at the end of season with kind of money spent.

why bellamy so late??? get a grip

Does Kenny work in the circus in his spare time?

Kenny has his head in a snake ah that explains it, but what is he doing whith he head in a snake does he not know they bite

To-days result was a disgrace, people should take of the rose tinted glasse's
K. K. Is not the answer. We talk about the champions league at this rate it will be more the championship(where swansea came from). K.k is not a good enough tactician(rdred)

05 Nov 2011 19:10:49
boring boring liverpool, sac kenny get rid of carrol, henderson, downing and adam,no point watching matches anymore its to depressing, liverpool fans need to wake up and kenny needs to realise we are not in the eighties anymore.no league title in 20 years no cups in 6 years.

Agree mate. Our new players haven't been any good, so far. Carroll much to do, Downing, bad constantly, adam hasn't been good enough, Henderson mostly played right while he did better in centre. Hope, we can change the results soon, but how long can we just sit and hope. team will have to deliver. We're most likely out of CL race. Plz, LFC players, do it for LFC. it deserves much more than that. Much much more. :(

05 Nov 2011 19:07:44
some fans have sugested that if a new player comes in a player must go. someone sugested kuyt will go. I agree kuyt has not have good pace but last year he was top scorrer and he gives 100% every game. I will be very dissapointed if he goes. On the other hand I would not mind Carrol go. He played in a lot of games and just scored once. He cost a fortune. Spending 35mil on a player the expectations are high. A striker may get three or four chances each game for scoring. A good striker should convert at least two out of four in a goal. Unfortunately Carrol didnt even convert on in ten. I know the lad is young and he may be good in future but LFc is not an academy is a premier leaque club with a good reputation and goals are needed know not in two years. I am afraid carrol has not got the skills of a top striker. We need a good finisher and a Rw SAP if we want a top four possition

Have you ever seen suarez he needs at least 20 chances to score a goal

How many does Carroll need, mate. He too misses plenty of them.

I agree suarez and carroll are poor strikers

05 Nov 2011 19:00:08
I wouldn't worry too much about the result today, it's just incredibly frustrating. The team is playing some great football and if you look at the stats you can see how many chances we have had, especially in comparison with them.

But the problem still does remain with finishing our chances. I think Luuk De Jong would be a good player to help us in that department and seems reasonably likely considering what the eds have said.

I think we also need to get a natural right winger in the mould of Ibrahim Afellay or Adam Jonhson.

A CB should also be a priority as Carra is getting too old and needs to be replaced.

And what I really don't understand is why Johnson is playing instead of Kelly. I know the eds and other posters have stated that he needs a rest but surely he would of been available for todays game? He is one of the best up and coming English players and definitely deserves an England cap and a place ahead of Johnson.

Cheers ed keep up the good work!

maka
YNWA JFT96

Luuk de jong would be another cog in our wheel, we need another Suarez, who can create that magic out of nothing + someone who is more clinical than Luis. Marco Reus is far better than Luuk de jong. Also No more overrated British players!

pytbull

And what did Johnson do wrong? Few posters want Kelly ahead of him .. why?
I think Kelly is very good, but I dont think Johnson did anything wrong and if his shot was'nt saved it would've been an incredible goal, Kelly does n't provide that threat.
Roy

Is that you Roy?

Gloating because you were beaten last week?

Kelly's had a few shots this season already and hit the post at least once so yes, he does provide 'that threat'. Also, Kelly tends to stay wide whereas Johnson has a tendency to drift inside on his runs and blaze wild shots from 30yards. With Henderson also playing on the right and drifting inside, we're left with zero width on the right. That was a big problem for me today. It's no supprise all our good attacking play came from the left...

Luuk de jong, not going to b a great signing. Another Kuyt type player. Hope, we are signing some one more like Ricky van Wolfswinkel. C'mon guys buck up, LFC needs more of you. Go on and start winning.

Kelly is a far superior defender to Johnson and is perfectly capable in attack and as the other poster said he has had some good shots saved too.

Terrible result today, credit to swansea though, totally deservrd their point. The players need to take a long hard look at themselves though, some of our big money signings just not good enough.Downing wrecks my head,he has terrific ability, very inconsistent, delivery at times very poor, all in all not worth the money we paid for him.Charlie adam, should be playing elsewhere ,i dont care what anyone says he is not a big club player, has a decent left peg ,too slow and looks unfit.Henderson, not going to criticise him too much ,great potential, playing out of position all season should be in the middle.Andy carroll,a lot of money spent on him,he has to start playing like a 35million pound player and soon,he doesnt work hard enough off the ball if you ask me,has the ability ,its all about whether he lives up to it.Suarez ,would be the best player in england if he was a natural finisher, class act needs to put the ball in the net more though, thats the only thing that lets him down, love his commitment ,work rate and skill,u dont know what he is going to do next. The other thing is,Martin Kelly, why isnt the lad playing,is he injured,if not he has to start every game without doubt, future liverpool captain in my eyes.We miss gerrard ,he makes us tick, hope hes back soon, carrol would benefit a lot from his delivery ,we could see a different andy carroll when stevie comes back.It is only november,a lot of points to be played for yet,im liverpool through an through we never throw in the towell, remember istanbul,we might be down at the minute but we are certainly not out,COME ON THE POOL Stan the red ,ynwa,j96

Mr. Henry want more time to think and appoint a manager. but that was calculative risk by him. and he said in his interview that I flow fan request, and it was a calculative risk. the risk not pay back may be . 20 years a realy big time. the method of 20years back not work.

agreed that kenny need time any new manager is hard . but we dont have much time, u can let easy point go. city will come here if a result with city like that then ok but not swansea.

Ive said it from the very start of the english player spending spree and was slagged off for it every time... downing, adam, carroll and especially henderson are all average players. We are indesperate need of a few foreign, classy midfielders and have been for a while but it has never been adressed. At the start of the season there were many supporters saying how the little foreigners will not survive in the prem well lets just look at silva, mata (hasnt been amazing but still very good), nasri, gervinho etc) no more english garbage in janueary please.

E.H LFC

Totally agree with ya mate!

You forget - you can't jump from level 3 to level 1 straight away.
You need to increase the quelity with every purchase to increase your overall level. The quality of player that becomes available as you improve also goes up, so each purchase takes you a step further.
Loads of people on here have listed a comparison of each player moved on and each player brought in that place and in every case it is an improvement.
Jovanovis - Downing = improvement
Torres - Suarez = improvement
Babel - Carroll = improvement
Konchesky - Enrique = improvement
Poulsson - Henderson = improvement
Bellamy in = squad improvement as he didn't actually replace anyone and we needed extra striker cover
Coates in = same as Bellamy

Over the next few transfer windows the quality of the player coming in will improve the team/squad with each step

On top of that you have so many players gelling at the same time and sometimes it can take one player a whole season to gel into a team

Have patience people the current team is still gelling. The style of play is evolving and improving. Don't forget last season under Hodgson, we weren't even creating chances in games. Now we're complaining that so many chances are being missed. I know which i would rather have!!

There's too many schoolboy minded fickle fans around.

If we win, we are brilliant and if we lose the manager was a mistake, this player shouldn't have been bought etc etc.

Buck up your ideas!!! if you support LFC, then support them proudly, get behind the team (the crowd at Anfield is very quiet these days) and let the good times roll.

Torres - Suarez = improvement
Babel - Carroll = improvement
You must be joking mate.

If you take how bad Torres was over the last 18 months of his time there and the fact the babel never lpayed then what I said was 100% correct

Great post mate and totally spot on. The improvement in players is happening and these players do need time. Take lucas as an example. Plenty of people wrote him off for a couple of seasons but he's stepped up and is an influential player at the club now.
To many people on here think its instant form and instant success. Reality check. I'm sure if this site had been around in the days of shanks and sir bob these muppets would've been on questioning the great men themselves.
nobody likes to loose, (or draw with poor sides), but you have to support your team through thick and thin, bad times and not just the good.

We will never win anything with Lucas in the team. He is avg like everyone else except Suarez.

EPL liverpool out of top 4 back to back miss CL football.

Serea A Juventus out of CL back to back.

but look at Juve they are rocking now. did they use more money then us hell no. you have to be intaligent to use the money as we are not City can put money in crap.

to all the fans slagging who think things will come good and give it time, can they please recite 1 performance, just 1 when we have played well for 90mins this season

answer none we have gone backwards this season and i have been saying this for at least 5 years and that is there is no other team on this planet that plays football like us,we have no quality,no movement, don't close down or tackle,we can't pass and move,we have to pass the ball back in order to go forward,we don't play as a team, and when we do go forward we might have a person in the box,we need to completely change the way we play.

We're 11 x games in. Beaten in x 2.

Hi eds,
considering by how the team plays, is there any chance we'll bring more then one player in january and regardless of how many players will leave? {Ed002's Note - As I have said, I expect January will be driven by replacements for the wounded and departing and perhaps a gap filler or two. I don't expect spending like the summer again.}

Ed, could you please tell who is the first team coach at present?

Sam armchair {Ed002's Note - Steve Clarke.}

Next 2 games are crucial have to take at least 4 points and that could still see us 10 plus points off 4th and if we win both we will look back at last two home games with even more regret ,we are not scoreing enough and either its cause we are not clinical enough in front of goal or not creative from midfield but we must sort in jan .We are only 3 points off chelsea level with gunners and spurs so are still in the mix but think the club needs its cantona signing ,a player that sees a killer pass plus scores a bagful RED2TOE

What a brilliant performance again from the reds, the side with the worst away record came to Anfield & LFC got a point against them. Brilliant signings such as Carroll, Henderson & Downing were immense once again & is worth every penny Kenny paid for them. Top four in-sight inches away with 1/3 of season gone, Totenham, Arsenal & Newcastle has no chance at all. Who knows if we go forward at this rate we might even win the title. Champions League here we come.

Hope many of you will like my post, as i would prefer not to write anything negative about the team on here as it is not excepted on here by most of the people.

Immense mate. At this rate UEFA might give us a CL Final for free, without playing any game at all.

i made some bold predictions in the summer and early this season about the manager and the team, i was trying really hard to convince myself otherwise but i guess the whole thing is coming to play now.

"I think kk obsession with going british will be his achille's heel in his second coming as manager; sacrificing a wonderful player like raul meireles for players like Jordan and adam does not make at all. Oh! He is the manager, he knows football better than anybody, he used the same method in the 80's and he succeeded with it, in Kenny we trust. Excuse me fellow fans, this is 2011! It is not written in stone that the method of 80's will work in 2011. Selling raul will send a wrong signal within the team and outside of it. What do you except non-british players in the squad to think and those that on the verge of joining? Kk needs to manage this situation very well. Believe me when I say these signings are not comolli's but the manager's. It is easier to knock benitez for his signings knowing fully well that lfc raked in 100m pounds on 3 players( torres, Alonso & masch), making over 50m as profit (nobody remembers that). Another thing of note is the mentality of these players coming in, are they winners or have they won anything in the lives? Kk needs to manage this. These are my thoughts and I don't expect you guys to agree with me( I mean those that always say get behind the manager). "

i posted the "rant" above in august. you dont need a soothsayer to tell you what is going to become of this team. maxi, raul meireles, spearing and kuyt putting in super human performances in the second half of last season to get kk a 3-year contract. what did they get in return for the heroic acts? betrayal, benchwarming and lack of confidence in them from the same manager.

lets admit the fact, we bought poorly in the summer and we are reaping it now. we are joke of a team according to other clubs' fans. i still dont understand why henderson is always starting ahead of established players like kuyt, bellamy and maxi. somebody needs to tell kk that substitution is now 3. subs are made to change the complexion of the game but i guess our great manager does not know that. we are living in the past and we need to move on. lfc will not achieve anything under kk. i still think his tactics side of the game is .........your guess is good as mine. kk needs to walk now because the game has moved on from we he left it. you can continue to fool yourselves that kk knows best, i was never under that illusion. we need to act cos the joke is on us. we failed to beat any of the promoted teams. swansea were very comfortable on the ball at anfield!. i shake my head.

I am a fan of an institution called lfc not the manage or the players.

Typical my first game in the kop and it's a no score bore.
Congrats to Swansea you deserved a point.
Our midfield was slow today for me, apart from downing, who had no final ball. Henderson needs to play in the middle and we need a right winger, a proper one finally.
But yeah typical Liverpool, we will prob go and smash the chavs and citeh 5-0 each now.

just hand on heart we all said that he is buying british because he wanted team to gel.but tactically we have gone may be 2 years back. there is no shape at all in team.
say what is wrong dont hide it because of all the abuse.

Same old same old, cant beat the small teams. I have been a red since i was a kid. People always saying we will get better give it time. But how much longer do we need to give. I really fear that we are not even a top 6 side anymore. At least under Rafa we where top 4, and have some decent players, xabi alonso, javier mascherano, luis garcia. Now we have a team that is nothing like that just mid table far as i can see. We never go after big players always linked, then get 3rd choice. I would us rather spend 100m on 2 decent players rather than 5 nobodies.
But most of all i feel we should have never have got rid of Rafa, people can say what they like but ever year we where in the Champions league and a force.
Although i am to young to remember Kenny 1st time round i understand what he has done for the club. But that was 20 years ago, i feel he would be better suited in a upstairs role.

We want our rafa back.
Anyway rant over,

Rushdentillidie

Bang on 21 years of excuses. And were barely a top six side awful

Didn't rafa's Liverpool have a run of 11 draws after his rant? Didn't Rafa's Liverpool end 7th? Did rafa get rid of Alonso? Dalglish has had to sort out a lot of crap and get rid of a lot of overpaid average players left by rafa . And we're playing a better style of football. We''ll get there just stop being so thickle and coming out with stupid comments. So many part time supporters on here who haven't a clue!............Evers.

I really don't see this pass and move. I see lots of back passes and very pedestrian build-up play where only Suarez can create anything. Not sure what u see.

Thats funny, thats just how rafa's teams used to play!.......Evers

05 Nov 2011 17:54:53
Some people on this side said that we were unlucky.
How could we be unlucky if we had a draw. We should be at least 3-0 down. So I think we were very lucky.

05 Nov 2011 17:51:29
ha it makes me laugh we spent 100 mil n then drew the game with 2 promoted team! I hate to say its lucas and adam that are making us cost our game! Lucas what else he offer rather than 1/2 good tackles throughout the game and know nothing how to go forward and that 7 mil waste adam? Got no pace, has got no knwldge how to tackle and always try long and sily pass and what about johnson? That guys should be used as rw! And hendo? Why the **** kd use him as rw knowing he love to play in cm? I promise hendo is way better than adam in cm any day and i hate to say that parker is way better than lucas! And did any one notice how dull was our right flank looking when we had random attack frm left? Hate to say but its bitter truth its our mid-field that are costing us point! I will just hope to god that we shouldn't finish jst below 7th! We look like a midle table time! I am quiet sure that surauz will leaved liverpool no matter what cause we are far away from being top4 side comparing with tot or even newcastle! Just look at arsenal? Weren't they on relegation zone? Nw they are 2 point abve us! Haha same old prblem same old liverpool! Poorly spended 100 mil especialy on adam n carrol! Gutted we have what? No pace no creativity no player to change game n not even a technical player! Expect us buying poor english player and finishing 7th not a top4 site! N why will hazard, gotez, levezi will join a team that is unable to win against poor team? How many of u still hope this side will take us to top4? Dream on guys!

Glory be.At last! Common sense! Not im a bigger fan.your a Manc nonsense. No one wants to slag. Its sad but True!

After today's 0-0 draw with Swansea, Liverpool are in desperate need of a clinical goalscorer. Please Ed tell me Kenny is going to sign one in January!

Don't we have a 57 million pair. What then if 35m isn't half a player than, he is piad. He needs to work immensely hard. Luuk de Jong wouldn't be the right choice as far as I know. He ain't that good.

Luuk de jong is way better than fat carrol. {Ed002's Note - I understand a January bid for De Jong is in the offing.}

I hope ur right ed. Is any team interested in carrol rite now? He has to go, so do downing n adam. What a waste of money.
Indian Buzzer {Ed001's Note - give it up lad, he hasn't even had a full season yet! Not every player can just jump in and perform right from the off, it took Alec Lindsay, for instance, a few years to find his feet at Liverpool.}

Thought I would also mention, the atmosphere at Anfield was horrendous today, was looking forward to a few chants, there was just absolutely nothing, it was like sitting at Old Trafford, Where has the legendary Anfield 12th man gone? And it is not just a one off.

Far due to the Swansea lads, they made more noise then the Kop, was more disappointed about that then the performance.

Give me thy fortress Anfield back!

Did I miss something? Downing was poor again today and I would have taken him off and brought Bellamy on. At least we would still have had a goal threat from Carroll. I was surprised with Downings early form but it has dipped and he needs to pick up his game? Perhaps a spell on the bench would give him an incentive. Thought Suarez was also poor today and could have been taken off.
Iggypop

True till Suarez bit.Guys on his own! This is ala Stevie/torres era.But at least we had two decent players then!

Suarez, he has become more isolated. More like a man on his own.

Ed I feel sorry for the crap you are going to have to edit through tonight.

I wasn't able to watch the game today so had all the goals sent to my phone.

I really feel sick after the result and Im baffled as to why we can't put chances away. It's clear that we need a clinical finisher if we want top 4 this season.

Why is it season after season we fail against the smaller teams? No disrespect to Swansea but there team cost less than Andy Carroll.

Come on lads we all feel down after today but remember last season. I'm hopeful that in the second half of the season we will turn these results in to wins.

Please ASH don't get on the band wagon and start slagin the team off as we all feel the pain, including the players etc.

Funny how the united fans are on here after we draw again, they must have short memories. You see Liverpool fans are true and support the team even when they feel pain after a game. United fans love to just gloat, don't they? To a united fan its more important for us to loose then them win because they are bitter, while Liverpool fans want our team to win and couldn't care less about how there doing. Remember lads don't put the team down like United fans do, we are better than that and that's why we are the greatest fans in the world.

Storms don't last for ever, but as long as there's a storm Liverpool fc will never walk alone and our fans should become louder and take the pressure off the players because there human and feel like we do.

For every one who reads this, for all that pain in you're heart, that hope will change soon, let's just have faith.

Tizer Red. I never "slagged the team off," I just didn't rate the signings we made from the off and up until now, it looks like I'm right (although I too appreciate it's still early days.) I admire your optimism, I honestly do and I understand it takes time for players to gel and new ideas to bed in, but I just don't rate the players bought in other than Suarez, Enrique and Coates and, as such, cannot see how we can improve to the required level. I hope I'm wrong.

05 Nov 2011 17:46:49
we can not win a game with Swansea at Anfield. What is going on? We hope to finish in top four? that is a joke. Arsenal was ten points behind us now we are level. Today was our chance to jump the table at fourth or even third place. we blew it.If we can not win we Swansea at Anfield, how will we win Chelsea away or Man city? The fanny think is that Kenny and Clark are saying that the players performance is always excellent. How can performances like todays or with Norwish be excellent. If we can not get three points from games like todays how can we get points for the likes of Chelsea, Man U, Man c or Totenham. Kiss top four good bye. Wake up Kenny and Clarke.Nobody performed today at all. Bellamy didnt even touch the ball. Henderson gave the ball away every single time. I dont understand this tactic. We have Maxi on the bench who is a proper right winger with pace and can score and instead we use henderson to give the ball to the opposition.

05 Nov 2011 17:43:05
This is our midfield.....Henderson.average at everything. Was for Sunderland and is for us. Paid over inflated English price. Lost Money on him already.
Adam...poor mans jan molby...wants to sit in midfield and spray around a few passes without going after the return. Ok in a midfield full of creative attack minded players not in ours.
Downing.. Lost all confidence.. Bough on stats? Unfortunately we didn't get young. Better alternatives out there. Decision making awful seems to shoot when he should cross and vice-versa.
Lucas leiva. Think it's quite negative to play a defensive midfielder at home all the time. He is average and always has been may have a good game now and then. He offers absolutely nothing going forward. How many teams have that type of player in the top of the league. Sooner he goes the better. We need midfielders who can protect the back four and create. And if we had to choose the latter. If we want a defensive midfielder they need to be able to mix it.
Dave

Since summer i have been thinking the same. Money wasted on average players, we cant we just buy 1 or 2 world class players rather than 5 avg ones. I feel that on paper has gone backwards since Rafa's days. How much do we miss Alonso and i still cant believe that we loan out Aquilani far better than any of the players we got in this summer.

Rushdentillide

K.k jurys out.Thatb was dire. And bar Enrique so are your signings.Especially Carrol and Adam

05 Nov 2011 17:42:52
The problem is just a lack of quality throughout the team. A lot of people slate man city for how they have built their team and if they win the league many will say they have just bought it.There is nothing wrong with that as long as they are sustainable in the future aswell. We seem to be building for the future only...but what about now? I don't agree with the ridiculous wages that they are paying but there is not much else. KK's philosophy of pass and move is fine but I don't see the point in trying to bring back the original liverpool identity by signing british players. I wasn't born the last time liverpool won the league and the only real memories of trophies are the champions league and the fa cup. Is it wrong that i'm already fearing for our champions league place?

Did anyone else had heart in mouth movement when ref gave free kick to swansea at the edge of box.foul was clearly in box and a pen to swansea.
That's 2 decisions which have gone our way in last 2 games.I hope no one gives ref excuses if next one goes against us.
Last year kenny with his brriliant man management and suarez dis a turn around.
But when it came to building a team his tactics are not class.

My fears of english revolution a true at LFC.clear lack of quality pound for pound.

I would never call for kks head.but today it was obvious changes needed to be made earlier than they were.we never seem to have a plan b.were desperately short of pace in the side.midfield struggled today.when carrolls in the team we dont seem to be able to link midfield to attack.thought hed bin working on his fitness, looked out of it after half time.we need a box to box midfielder, along with a couple of creative ones.and still a world class forward.were a long way short of being challengers.this team will get better as the season goes on i think but its plainly obvious we got a long way to go.

Ahh but will the team get better? We keep! saying it_When??

05 Nov 2011 17:36:13
How fickle fans are..........

Thought we were lacking a bit of luck, Vorm was outstanding. Thought our defence was pretty decent, Midfield was poor till Kuyt and Bellamy were on, Lucas had a horror show in terms of passing and positioning, worst he has played for a long time. Adam's passing was very good, don't think Lucas offered enough movement and vice versa they always seems to be in each others space.

The patnership between Enrique and Downing is a constant threat. Maybe its time to bench Carroll......Don't think the big man did much wrong bar the chance........Kuyt and Suarez just have a much better understanding, and the flow of passing is much better. Don't understand the criticism of Henderson, thought he was constantly isolated, Johnson, Suarez, Carroll or Lucas never seemed to give him an out ball, also Henderson should never play LM.

Just lacking a bit of luck.....

Jatt YNWA

You must be joking Jatt ...
If it wasnt for Pepe it would 've been 3 - 0 to them by the 50th minute, yes their goalkeeper was good and if it was n't for him we would 've scored 3, but you need to remember he was outstanding against City still he conceded 4 and was very good against chelsea, but they still put 4 past him.
Roy

What exactly is your problem with my post? lol. Did I say Pepe was poor? Vorm was not just 'good' he was outstanding, made some world class saves. The difference was that Vorm made the saves early on, whereas Pepe made them when we were throwing men foward, if Vorm didn't make his saves Pepe wouldn't have had to make his.

The defence was good, the problem was the centre midfield, their midfielders carried on finding space in between and behind Lucas and Adam, Thought we were outnumbered there personally.

Jatt YNWA

Yes and City and Chelsea have unlimited funds to spend, get a grip....

sooty

Trouble is we are always lacking luck, Norwich, Stoke, Swansea. We should be beating these 3 or 4 nil. It we want to be up there then we have to lean to be ruthless. I always believe that the best form of defense is attack.

This season is just the same as the past ones, to many point dropped against nobodies. Medoice player brought in also. 100m and we still only have 1 worldclass full time player luis suarez.

Rushdentillidie makes sense.I dont like insulting>Everyone entitled to view>But Jatt,Your an idiot.Maybe us non brainwashed, should quetion if the tunnel vision fans are mancs. As their happy with disjointed c ap were watching

Ed's can you post in banter please =)

Great bit of footy, my thoughts on the match and a few players....

Disappointed we didn't win but was an entertaining game.

Although Andy Carroll is a great big lump and a waste of 35 million pounds - he's getting better and although he missed a sitter, as the commentators kept saying he done everything else right and in my opinion he's not far off becoming the player we signed him to be. Was happy with him today and hoping for more of the same (maybe finding the net and not the frame of the goal though :P)

Glen Johnson - WHY? Can someone please tell me if Martin Kelly has been injured recently or has had some sort of argument with Kenny? I just can't seem to work out why our best right back - one of the best emerging right backs in England (underrated by many who don't follow us religiously like us but its starting to change...)

Pepe Reina - You are a God among men. Yes he made one or two mistakes but his recovery's were world class, made decent saves. That being said, their keeper was immense for them (sorry can't remember the name :P)

Lucas - For me he was great in the first half but seemed to go missing after the break, Henderson's (apparent) attacking threat kept Swansea from committing too many forward maybe? Just a little theory of mine....

Kenny and Clarke - Carroll off? Really? I know their are some die hard KK fans so I'm going to get loads of abuse here but, I'm thinking he might of made a mistake... Sure bring Bellamy on but don't take off Carroll, if anything I would have taken Johnson off and pushed Kuyt back to right back (got a feeling he would have stayed in right back and not centre back?)

The game was played with a lot more pace from back to front (even with the long diagonal balls) without Carragher, lets get him in a sort of player/coaching role, phase him out of the team but keep him around for the knowledge he possesses (pro Carra fans can't argue with that surely?)

Great game for the neutral, shame I'm not a neutral though. Two points dropped again at home, need to sort it out....not upset with the team though, thought we played well and it was a cracking game. Full respect to Swansea!

Ok I know I'm sure to get loads of abuse now after my suggestions about Kenny making a mistake and phasing Carra out, but I would be greatful if the Ed's can post this and for themselves and/or others to add their opinions and engage in a positive debate :)

Oh and sorry for any spelling and grammar mistakes made ;)

LfcWes605

Self indulgement BS

Reina was terrible he made a lot more than one or two mistakes

In the Absence of Cara no defence that didn't keep the nerves jangling

Not really self indulgement, I think Reina has become sloppy ever since Rafa left and took his coaching staff (or at least the goalie coach) with him, might be wrong about the coaching staff though, my bad if so....but I wouldn't be saying well done for the recovery's, I would just be bashing him?
Carroll - I think of him as a waste of 35 million pound and a big lump, but he is improving.
Johnson - right back playing as an attacking right centre back? Pretty much everyone agrees Kelly is better?
Lucas - you might have thought differently to me, not going to argue this point.
Kenny and Clarke - I'm a big fan of them both and the work they've done since coming in, me saying they've made a mistake isn't self indulgement?
It was an absolutely great game for the neutral, cracking saves, end to end stuff

They didn't have too many attempts on our goal for Reina to make "a lot more" then one or two mistakes,

And sorry I don't understand that last line, are you saying without Carra we were/are/will be nervous or not? :S

Because to be honest near enough every game this season, with or without Carragher we've been nervous at the back, I'm talking more about the speed of playing going forward then the defending side of it though.

Liverpool are now a premiership team just part of the league and not contenders for the league top 10 is all we can hope for now and hope we can beat the bug teams when we come up against them

At last some are starting to understand we have found our true level

until we can get a sheik we won't improve its all about the money and Henry aint got much

So we need a sheik you mean his money of course to beat teams like stoke sunderland norwich swansea after having spent 100 milion just maybe the problem lies someplace else.(godin)

Yes Man citeh are Struggling to beat QPR half way through the seconf half and they have spent 360M improving the team

But at least city keep winning

Because he is exactly that a supporter good bad or indifferent.few more needed like it

Ed002 is a woman who supports chesea. I am not joking very few people here show any form of intelligence and kop on and very few are observers of the truth.

If you read what Ed002 writes its not what a man writes Ed001 is obviously a man, a stupid man I'll give you that.

Ed002 supports Chelsea mate

Those supporters Spoken about, should lay off mouthing how unlucky bs they speak on here and sing at game_awful backing-again

What a bloody good game that was. Gripping. Proper football by both sides. All credit to Swansea (especially their goalie who pulled off 2 magnificent saves in the last 10 minutes) - they certainly won't be going down at the end of the season! Disappointing that it was 0-0, but we had the chances - we just didn't put them away. If that one of Johnson's had gone in it would have been a contender for goal of the season. The lineswoman made the correct call on Kuyt. Thought Enrique and Lucas were our two best players. Downing was average - which is an improvement. Carroll started brightly but faded very quickly. Kuyt played well when he came on - think his future is as impact sub. Johnson played welll as well as did Agger. In fact nobody other than Carroll had a bad game and even he didn't have a stinker - just couldn't get into the rythm. If we keep playing like this we will definately finish inside the top 6. Sooner or later it will all click into place.

This has got to be a wind up! Top 6 is NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If that is all we are hoping for top 6 then we might aswell pack in

I think that's a very good assessment of the match. Those of you who think that aiming for top 6 finish this season isn't good enough are deluding yourselves. Rebuilding this side is going to take another two years at least. Top 6 this season, maybe sneak third or fourth next, assault on the top the season after that. RED LENIN

Blue or Manc post if happy with that!Or Rampton escapee

We all were giving wenger a tough time but now we are the laughing piece.
Its just not this result but all over our control over games in general.
For me kenny as manger first has to get his act together.
I am very dissapointed can feel excuses will come now.

Red indian

Arsenal will finish 10-14 points above liverpool

05 Nov 2011 17:16:32
So much money spent on the team and yet again we are brutal, If KK loved the club then he would walk away because hes not right for us, too old fashioned, im getting to used to been disapointed

05 Nov 2011 17:16:22
People on here calling for Kenny are quite laughable. Things dont happen overnight and its not the liverpool way to sack managers. Kenny will come good. Lets all support him.

Mighty reds

Well said mighty

KT!

Over night ?? liverpool have been like this for 20 years

Too right mate. Anyone even thinking that should go and lie down in a darkened room for a week. Joke.
The Real KB

Sacked roy,you expected him to yurn it around over night,i cant see much dif is the team from last year(performance)

You lot are all wrong he is not the right manager for this club he never was. He has the worst tactics has wasted more money then any other manager in the last two windows, i dont care if he was a legend before i was born he is a crap manager thats why he never had a job after the 90's. This is a results business he should go now

Bring back rafa!

05 Nov 2011 17:17:14
What's up with supporters these days ?
Think you just turn up and get 3 x points given ?
Give the opposition some credit.
And again we were a little unlucky, although Swansea deserved their point.
What's the problem with accepting that ?
The Real KB

People want instant success KB and if they don't get it they whine like 2 year olds and call for the managers head.
Just ignore the morans KB.

KT!

I know KT mate.
I'm logging off before I put my fist through the lap top. Lol.
Catch you later.
The Real KB

No I dont expect 3 points, but I certainly expect a much better performance. Thats all. I know things dont always go right and we might not always play great, but that was really really bad. Really bad. Oh and the least a player might do (Johnson) is cover his bloody position.

Thats why 30 thousands fans were booing at the end yeah

KT! What is a Moran?

Kt and kb walk off into the sunset.in remake of fantasy island.numpties-wakey wakeyyyyy

Lol.
If KT stands for Kara Tointon, I'm up for that.

05 Nov 2011 17:16:59
Pathetic! Absolutley absymal! Once again we talk about missed chances, oppo goalkeeper playing a blinder, not getting penalties! The excuses need to stop! We are NOT good enough! Although signings for the future Carroll and Henderson looked shocking today! Adam played well and Downing did better than recently! Gutted, absolutley gutted!
Welshboy Dave

05 Nov 2011 17:15:41
i'll probably get butchered for this but i think that kenny bought poorly this summer, adam can't get around the pitch he is luxury player that needs others around him to take the pressure of him as he keeps giving away free kicks in dangerous positions, downing couldn't beat eggs or cross his legs, henderson was whipped off at half time says it all really know everybody has to ask themselves if this was rafa, houllier or hodgson with these bad results we would be calling for their heads i don't believe we will get 4th place as the teams ahead of us have better squads than us but hopefully the scum won't win it

I have news for ya!

The mancs will win the title and we will be 11th meg has confirmed this by email.

05 Nov 2011 17:12:19
How can you say Kenny out? Have you seen the turn around in the past year!
All you fickle fans need to get a grip ffs, the only reason Swansea played well was we had an off game in midfield.
Passing wasn't good enough but we still had chances.
Credit to Swansea though who could of won themselves.

KT!

Come on Kt,only reason record is better now is because Hodgson was shocking, not because Kennys worked wonders! Still a long way off the top! Good god its hard being a Liverpool fan! at least last year we didnt expect anything! WelshBoy Dave

Off game in midfield. Are you having a laugh son. We have been a joke all season.

Disagree, Swansea had a good day today because we were utterly S---E

Oh kt we were unlucky v stoke, sunderland, norwich, man u and today.and if me aunt had a fruit pie, etc.get back to billie smarts.clown

05 Nov 2011 17:16:05
Let's calm down. It was a very frustrating performance and we could have even lost but let's not get carried away. Talk about getting rid of Dalglish is ridiculous.
We are lacking confidence at the moment, especially when we start to feel a bit of pressure. We are also lacking that extra bit of quality and are probably relying on Suarez too much. Saying that, top 4 is not beyond us and a few good wins not only puts us right back in there again but would do the players the world of good.
I'm still not convinced about Carroll, though. I think we need more mobility with this team and he just doesn't have it.

Carrolls crap endve

05 Nov 2011 17:14:40
We have only won the home games that I have been to
bean

Don't disagree it's true Bolton and wolves

05 Nov 2011 17:14:07
Build up is too slow at times... 6 passes between our midfield and defense then we cross the half-way line and teams have 10 men behind the ball... We have a good team and better than the league standing would suggest. If we carry on like this we'll be 6th/7th this season again.

Pass and move with intent i.e. to get in opponents box asap, we're not Barcelona.

There is still time this season to change it around but 4 draws at home in 11 games tells me that things do need to change.

05 Nov 2011 17:12:41
Hi Eds. Isn't it about time we start wondering if KD can do the job? If this would have been anyone else he would have alot pressure on him at this point..... Simply not good enough drawing at home against Swansea and Norwich!!! {Ed002's Note - He is clearly this week's figure of hate for the fans, but I am confident you will have moved on by next week and it will be someone else.}

05 Nov 2011 17:11:47
Fair play to Ash, Chris etc who don't rate some of the signings. I initially thought they were just being slaters but credit where it's due, they have proved me wrong!
We look like a team going backwards, no more excuses please, we have had to put up with drawing or losing against much lesser teams for years, nothing has changed with this new team.
Journo's who mentioned that we are due a big win should remember this game as we certainly don't deserve a win let alone big.
Gutted red

I appreciate your honesty. I've always said, if I am proved wrong, I will take the criticism. I too am a gutted red.

Ash

Totally concur!

Don't be a fr*ck.
After WBA last week everyone was one saying how well we played. Even Chris admitted Carroll was playing well.
Its the same old crack with you t*llers. One week up, next week slagging off.
You're the type that would have booed and got Shankly the sack, who went trophy-less for 7 years lest we forget.
Leave your names and come on in the week, have a rational conversation.

The Real KB

We were crap against WBA but they were awful. Just giving an opinion so keep your frillys on son.
The point was that since the start if the season, Ash & others have been saying how disappointing some of the signings were and I disagreed. Now I can see where they are coming from as class players don't take this long to produce. They have noneyropean distraction and have plenty of rest so the performances just haven't been good enough from some players.
The post was an acceptance of Ash's opinion and an understanding. It wasn't for you so get over yourself. Just because you post on here every other minute doesn't mean your opinion matters. {Ed001's Note - clearly you have no understanding of what it can take to turn around a team and its players. Even the great Bob Paisley didn't get it right straight away and he stepped in to take charge of an already great team at the top of the game. People like you would have hounded him out of a job.}

Oi 001! No need to say I have a lack of understanding for daring to agree with some posters that some signings are failing to perform. I have given them 11 games and have seen some players just not perform as they should unless you are seeing different?
I haven't once said the job was easy to turn the team around so what's your beef?
Just agreeing with some posters about SOME players.
Please don't give me grief or belittle my opinion just because you disagree, that's not cricket pal. {Ed001's Note - so you are allowed to belittle players but no one is allowed to say anything contrary to yourself? If you really think 11 games is enough then you clearly have no understanding of coaching, perhaps you should get yourself on the next coaching course. Then you can go and take charge of your local team and see how quickly you can turn around their form.....}

Did and won the league for the first time in 27 years, Cardiff & district premier, st pats 2001. Played 25, won 20, drew 3, lost 2.
Sorry ed, I've hung up my golden training whistle and coat now otherwise I'd offer to give some players a pep talk :) {Ed001's Note - ok if you say so.}

Sigh. It's true ed, but I don't confess to be an expert. The standard was a league below players who got paid so not that good.
The real kb & yourself mentioned that I would possibly be a boo boy and hound a manager out of a job? I don't slate KK for some of these performances, just pointing out players not performing as they should.
I don't boo when we lose, I support the team. I never slag players off, just say they are not performing. Haven't once said they should leave the club or belittle them.
Yes you have hit a nerve, yes I'm disappointed and yes I do get laid regularly.
Stay cool 001

Very very poor midfield. Hendo like dont know what to do. winger like we dont have any winger.

£100 Million spent on new players and yet before todays game we were ONLY 6 points better off than last season, and I was listenning to sky today and AGAIN there was ONLY 1 team who looked like winning the game and it WASN'T US.

DO THE DECENT THING KENNY AND GO

I'm not defending Kenny or the team, neither am I having a go at them, but I have just got to say, if we had them 6 points in the year we finished 2nd we would have won the league....6 points can make all the difference my friend :)

11 games 14 goals scored only 8 at home 6 away home draws against utd, NORWICH, SWANSEA and SUNDERLAND. Another terrible performance Downing shocking carroll shocking hendo abysmal, adam never good enough to wear the red shirt. Kenny has to be held accountable for the poor players he brought in and the poor backroom staff who are very defensively minded. Look how newcastle preess high up the pitch we just sit back because were not fast enough not fit enough dont work hard enough and are not good enough. If i was john Henry i wouldnt give KK a penny to spend in january after seeing the rubbish he has brought in and i wouldnt be surpised if he doesn't.
DCg

What rubbish. Not giving KK money to spend will simply make things worse. John Henry now knows it's going to take much more than 100 million sterling to make this squad competitive.

Yep let's blame J W Henry!

I agree with op.

My point was why would he give KK more money to waste when he has wasted about 80 million

05 Nov 2011 17:07:15
Home form played 6 won 2 drawn 4

Anyway you look at it that's not top 4 form. What gets me is the urgency seems to come when there's only a few minutes left such as the last 2 home games. I don't know if there's something mentally not there with some of the players or what? I know we are missing chances but these last 2 teams really could have beaten us just as easily. Why can't we get up for these lower teams that visit?

Just a quick mention for Martin Kelly I'm not sure what the lads done wrong but for me he should be starting ahead of Johnson.

I was thinking after the last 2 games the confidence would be flowing through us but give the game 20 mins and we seem to die off until the 2nd half again.

We are now looking at City home and Chelsea away which we will probably more than turn up for but we always seem to do things the hard way. Madness.

Spriggo

I think city and Cfc will beat us.

And what did Johnson do wrong, if the keeper have nt saved his shot, it would've been goal of the season.
Look I been slated and abused in here by most you since end of September for saying we are not good enough up front,we are good at the back and ok in the middle, if we just improve our finishing we would be up there, if we dont then fifth is the best we can do -- and that will be relying in newcastle not keeping up their form and Arsenal having another dip.
Roy

05 Nov 2011 17:08:40
Kk in his pre match stuff said we would try our best, obviously not in fact I dont really think anyone tried today

You are absolutely right with the exception of Suarez none of the other players stepped up to the level they can produce, and its becoming a pattern when ever we play a so called lesser team, our players dont perform as if the win is guaranteed and they dont have to do anything for it, I am sure Kenny would have spotted this by now.
By the way all the calls for Kenny to be sacked is just pure madness, if the buys were his then he did nt do a good job of that, but that should n't take away the fact he is still a good tactician and man manager, yes today didnt reflect that but he will change it, its up to the players to realize they are playing for Liverpool now.
Roy

05 Nov 2011 17:08:17

shame about score today but must give credit to swansea, especially their man between the sticks he was brilliant .

05 Nov 2011 17:04:36
We all love Kenny, he is a hero and stemmed the tide when we were in an awful place. People saying here he should be sacked are looneys. Its going to take time to rebuild Liverpool, time and lots more money. We lack so much quality in my opinion and unfortunately it looks like Stevie is just going to be plagued by injuries for the rest of his career. Carra is gone and Skrtel makes me so nervous. Whilst I love Kenny, he does lack tactical awareness and some of the substitutions he makes are baffling. However people calling for him to be sacked are silly people. In truth, we still lag behind Spurs and Arsenal.

05 Nov 2011 17:05:49
Cue the Manc invasion of our banter page now. Lol.
Plenty of our lads give it out on theirs, so have to swallow it.

Shoulda coulda woulda once again.

Nope i'd have been saying how fortunate we were to actually stick one away!

Conor you must be on the purple stuff he should be sacked now before the big games

If west ham won all their games last season they would have been champions and they wouldnt of been relegated

No,we wouldn't! We'd be saying how lucky we were to hold on after Gower blew that chance! As it was we were lucky to draw with a team who have picked up 1 point in 15 away! terrible!

05 Nov 2011 17:03:05
What an ordinary team.this team is not good enough to finish 4th let alone coming anywhere near top.
No control in CM because of adam who forgets in a 2 man medfeild you have to be box to box.
Our defence is shaky and let's just not focus on our strikers.

We will now see all the name calling and excuses by rose tainted glases reds.
Fact is we are not good enough aginst swansea at home we could not control or win the game.

JUST EXCUSES! From manger and some fellow reds.
And they will not see that there was a nailed on penalty which should have been given to swansea.
J.henry must be planning life without champions league for another season.

Adam too slow, his corners can't even clear the near post. Johnson too narrow both in attack and defence. I thought Kuyt looked good when he came on though.

Say ed, wasn't that lineswoman the one that got Andy Gray sacked?

I remember watching a interview with commolie last season and he was saying we lack pace in the side so we buy Henderson, adam and carroll. Not knocking these buys but there is no pace.

I'm not one for slating the side after one poor result but have to against sunderland , wolves, norwich and now swansea. No disrespect but these teams should not be getting a sniff at Anfield. All the teams mention have done well and got a result except wolves. I think we need to accept that we're not top 4 quality at the moment and have a way to go. The signings havent been good enough and commolie has a lot to anwser for. Would you give him another £75million to spend because if it was my money I wouldn't.
I think we've gone down the british route and it hasnt worked. Are best 2 signings in saurez and Enrique are forign. Like the National side English players are not good enough. very frustrating but need to keep getting behind the team and hope things improve

You can't blame Comolli, remember Kenny has FINAL say on signings.Comolli suggested Mata Kenny insisted on Downing. It's downright heartbreaking that we have spent 100 mil and can't beat teams like Swansea and Norwich at home.

Ridiculously awful. That was poor. I dont like being too critical, but being outplayed at anfield by a team who have only managed 1 point away from home and not yet kept a clean sheet away from home is absolutely ridiculous. I cant even pick out any consistent performer over the full 90mins! King kenny, you still have alot of work to do! Its clear that suarez has become the new gerrard/torres. If he plays poorly, the entire team is poor. Cold hard fact. And i dont think the old 'unlucky' excuse can be used this time either, even with andy hitting the goalframe. At the moment we are miles away from a top 4 place.

Alex Ferguson is the greatest manager ever to manage in the PL (or top English division - whatever it's called). Liverpool dominated for a long period of time. Around 20 years, over 3-4 different managers. Ferguson replicated this single handedly.

Hats off, he deserves a stand named after him for his efforts, If not a Stadium! From a hardcore Liverpool fan. Fergie, I salute you.

Remember though. We won it 5 times. Anyone who thinks one extra domestic title is worth more than two European Cups is a clown. Ask Fergie would he swap! Bloody right he would!

Be proud of our record, but if you can't respect Utd's and Fergies, then why should they respect ours?

ARE WE REALLY CALLING FOR KENNY'S HEAD!?!?!

Some of you kids absolutely sicken me. And the real fans here know that you are kids. I am gutted we didn't win today, but you are being absolutely ridiculous. Get a clue and find if Liverpool FC is really in your heart because to me, it seems like it is not to a lot of you. You just love to whine.

AFASFASDASDASD
Sorry ed's, but you can imagine how a gutted fan who will stand behind this team, its players, its staff, its supporters, everything about it, cannot STAND to read a lot of this drivel. I understand everyone's entitled to their opinion but it is absolutely making me rage.

I apologize if this is all too much to post, legitimately. I just wish more fans would support the team and club at all times, not just when we get a good result...

McSnuggles

We have expectations they are not being fulfilled we are entitled to our opinions which are correct in some cases we are supporting the team as we are angered by what is happening

You need to get real we'll come here to bitch and moan and look for fantasy signings if we did not do this the site would be gone

Realistic Red

Did you call for hodgsons head last season! i presume so!

Bet you didn't try and rally that support for Roy and Rafa!

It's not the 80's anymore, and KK isn't a saviour or good manager...why can't people have a negative opinion of him? jeez

PS: Good results = good team, you work out the rest.

I agree i'm gutted it doesn't seem to be happening for us whilst the teams around us can grab the point even if its hard faut.
but to say bin off Kenny is madness.
Who do some fans think we are? Chealsea {Ed002's Note - If you want cheering up you can look forward to MOTD and a last minute Torres miss from a couple of metres out - a long way over the bar.}

We will never win anything while he has tactics like that. Henry act NOW

Calling for Kenny's head is not the solution. The team needs better quality palyers in the middle of the park and yes a striker who can finish. Till then drawing at home with teams like Swansea will be the norm.

A real fan analyses a teams performances, accepts defeat and then critically assesses why it has happened. They accept when it is time for a change. They always want what is best for the team and club; you following blindly raving about supporting the team no matter what, sound more like a sheep my friend.

Its everybodys god given damn right to be pissed off after watching that s**te. We are a fu**ing joke. Top four my arse. Im am personally pissed of with the blind faith being shown in kenny and this average team. We have squandered huge amounts of money on average players. I never wanted kenny back and i was right. So piss off mcsnuggles ill say it as i see it.

To ed2002 torres might have missed but chelski still won we didnt {Ed002's Note - It's only a game, get used to it.}

Mcsnuggles I am 74 yrs old a liverpool fan all my life, what do you suggest everbody agrees with you right or wrong,or would you feel better if every one posted just positive comments or none at all,a bit of advice to you do not have blind faith in any person or thing(godin)

I don't mind being all your hate figures if it keeps you off the backs of our quality young players like Henderson and Lucas...

I never once said that all of your opinions were wrong, in fact - I presented my own. I supported Hodgson til the day he was out, and the same went for Rafa, and Houllier before him, and so on. I love the club so much that I'd stick around through something like relegation - a true test of a fan's mettle. I've never set foot in the entire UK and yet I love this club with everything I have and of course I want to see us succeed, and I'm more than willing to point out faults.

Like today - Lucas, one of my favorite players, had trouble establishing himself into the game, and Charlie's immobility definitely hampered him. We did not control the middle of the park at all. However, the best way to address that is to work on it in practice as opposed to sacking the manager, don't you think?

To all of you blinkered fellas, don't assume a thing about me. Run my name through the filter on here, you'll find nothing but positive posts (minus today, but negative towards fellow fans as opposed to the team) and support for everything LFC related.

You all support the same club I do, and you'll never walk alone. Come over to the USA and we'll have a pint or seven and watch a match.

I did use this website as a means to vent my frustration at the postings of other fans, and you want to slate me for it while telling me my opinion is utter b****cks and I'm a "sheep." I have blind love and faith in Liverpool FC, and I don't care. This club means more than the world to me.

McSnuggles

hope to see y'all around :)

05 Nov 2011 17:00:34
hi guys im so mad about this result. every year we either lose or draw against promoted teams, and that is a disgrace. this is why Suarez will go in January unless we get world class players to help him. so ed, please tell me if Liverpool will sell players such as kuyt, skirtel, Aurelio, Carroll, Lucas etc in January. we desperately need tevez. Kenny needs to look at him and Johnson from man city. if we don't get top 4 then Suarez will go and Liverpool will be in turmoil. Kenny needs to understand that we are being laughed at by the other teams and English players are not good enough for Liverpool. i expect us to get beaten by Chelsea and get thrashed by man city.

05 Nov 2011 16:58:45
Not a great result today but we created lots of chances. I would be more worried if we wasnt creating. Just need to start taking them. As fans though we need to be patient and it will come.

All the supporters of King Kenny must realise it aint working and it aint gonna work. Time for change. We had a good run the second half of last season but we are awful now. Lets have some opinions from the lovers and haters of the signing and form of the side?

I wud say 6th is more likely. We dont deserve to be in the top4. Im desperately hoping dalglish isnt in charge next season. This stupid spendin on british players is unacceptable.

After watching the game Swansea it is blatant that we need to play Kelly and push Johnson forward. On the left hand side we seem to be competent and we need a clinical striker.
Scouse Pride

Downing competent he is a small fish in a big but disappearing pond he does nothing

So you think we are the big POND "hello"

Downing is the best left sided midfielder we have had for years, so let him settle in properly.
Scouse Pride

Alright lads, how bout we bring the bring woy back signs to the City game if Kenny is so s**t?
Or how about we just go support another team...

05 Nov 2011 16:56:55
Heartbroken about today, just wow. Swansea could've kept up with Barcelona today it feels like. Not sure what went wrong today, just wasn't working. I don't know. Let's get behind the lads for the next match, eh fellas?

Seriously, my heart was heavy the entire last 30 minutes and I think it might've stopped when Vorm saved Johnson's volley.

05 Nov 2011 16:55:59
a £100m transfer been use, for Hendo £16m why ? who dont know what to do in midfield. £35 Carroll is in the water. cant take 3 point in home back to back by 2 religation zone team. Arsenal goig to top 4 Tottenhum is 5. take the 6th place again Liverpool. Emotional manager and emotional British talent not work.

05 Nov 2011 16:55:57
hey ed, with the teams recent performances do you see the owners having enough funds to improve the squad further? {Ed002's Note - I expect that any changes in January will be limited to replacing players who are injured, replacing those leaving and filling major gaps.}

05 Nov 2011 16:55:54
100 million spent to draw at home against newly promoted teams? Imagine what rafa would have done with 100 million! The man still has his house on the Wirral!

In Rafa We Trust!!

05 Nov 2011 17:00:01
Remind you of anything... Spurs away, yes our midfield was found out against a better passing team. We sat deep Kuyt tucked in like a centre mid and Johnson was holding hands with skrtel. We should have gone 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 with Bellamy left, Suarez right and Kuyt up front. Europa league next year unless we make 2 quality signings in Jan.

05 Nov 2011 16:59:58
where are you gerrard? :[

Devil Dust.

05 Nov 2011 16:59:15
We are simply not good enough. We are a Europa league team. Supposed better signings are not good enough. Adam, Henderson, downing and carroll are not better than meireles, cole and aqualani. Swansea were actually the better team today. Dalglish is simply out his depth.

Not even a Europa league team with displays like this season

05 Nov 2011 16:54:49
LOL and you guys say MUFC team is poor. Draw against Swansea and Norwich? Not lookin so good now are ye? Pathetic!

MUFCisLIFE

What does that say about United only playing for and drawing with Liverpool?

Liverpool were dire today. Fact. No real progress from the last two seasons and I'm just glad John Henry was there to see for himself that what Liverpool need are world class creative midfielders. I'm really disappointed in Downing though to be honest he never impressed. KK has to sort out the lack of creativity or else we're heading to mid-table. Can't see getting any points against Chelsea and City.

05 Nov 2011 16:53:56
hey lfc fans...

i feel the frustration......play well against top teams...and struggle against teams we should beat..

also..we always struggle..when its a must win game....wever never had the killer mentality to go on and win....a must win game............for some reason the pressure ruins everything..

i agree with most posters here.............a top 4 finish is too hard for this team at the moment especially as arsenal and spurs have better quality

look where arsenal were before and now.......pfff we have ruined the points gap between us
overall.. a 6th place is more realistic...i think liverpool should go for a uefa and build over the yrs..what do u think eds {Ed002's Note - I think it is just the fans being fickle. A win next time out and it'll be all change again.}

Hi eds...this is my original post..i know its 11 games..but to me...i knew it wud take years
i dont think we have the mental belief in winning a game when the whole world says....its a must win...
and i also believe we dont have the quality players yet for the top 4...its sad but u cant blame the fans for gettin annoyed...we are crap at playing teams we should beat..

Edoo2. I think your wrong mate. We are not going to make the top four. The signings we have made have not improved the first team. Other than Enrique and Suares the rest are not good enough {Ed002's Note - I have not said that Liverpool will make the top four - I have said that they will there in the mix for them. I believe that they will - it only seems to be the Liverpool fans who don't agree. If I were to say that Dalglish should just stayed as manager to see out last season then everyone would be screaming that I am biased etc.. Now all I see is fans wanting him out one week and him being teh saviour the next. Hopeless really.}

Ed002 you speak with forked tongue.

05 Nov 2011 16:53:14
Have to say I have lost all faith in kenny now.

N87

Henderson, downing, carroll all cost vast amounts of money all really crap

Couldn't agree more, if he starts with the same team again, fuc*ing helps us.

henderson/carrol shouldn't be starting!!!

Because a team came and played beautiful football and drew with us?

Swansea may never, ever, EVER turn in another performance like they did today.

If you've lost the faith in Kenny, you've lost the faith in the club.

McSnuggles

That's probably a bit harsh. He was given 100 million and the task of getting us back in the Champions League, there's a long way to go yet. But if we don't make it into that top 4 then it could all end up in tears......which would be a real shame to see happen with a legend like Kenny.

-Shane.

He will get sacked just wait and see. Henry said Top 4 nothing else means anything

I agree with Shane he will be sacked legend means nothing this is a results business.

@ mcsnuggles, what a p.rat you are, they play like that most weeks, only barca passed the ball or kept the ball better than swansea did last season!! You idiot!

My comment was obviously a bit tongue-in-cheek, seems you've missed it. They deserved a point against us, and probably played the best game as a team they'll ever play again. We should still have enough class to beat them, and we weren't good enough on the day. Keep the faith in who represents the club and they WILL come good. I said Lucas would come good two and three years ago (he was good then, too, but most fans need a hate figure) and look where he is now. We have the talent and the manager to do well, we just need to fine-tune it. Knee jerk reactions will NEVER be the answer, and attacking a fellow fan with an opinion with "bad" names and putting words into my mouth won't help you appear intelligent.

McSnuggles

We should never, repeat never have got rid of RAFA.

That is a FACT!!!!!!

Fabian Treezle

Raffa Rafael Benitez

He was rubbish

Rafa was let go while the 2 muppets were in charge. Kenny was brought back in to stem the tide, I Love the guy, he was my favourite all time player, but he lacks the tactical awareness of Rafa.

Rubbish? Really? Two Champions League finals, 1 win......Really? You honestly think he was rubbish?

-Shane.

Rafa tactics he lost the league to man utd when it was easier to win due to his tactics

If Rafa use £100 in 6 month then this Team Rocks.

You want Rafa back a man who plays for a one game lead and then wants to park the bus, how boring.

Rafa bought 74 players of that only 5 or 6 were any good, what a short memory?

We are playing great football just can't score we need a striker that's it and gerrard back fit again.

dark shadow

Yes Shane 74 purchases of players and 5 or 6 good ones the rest were duds

Get a grip of yourself ffs Rafas time was well and truly over. One of the biggest reasons we can't move forward is clowns like you who want to pine over what's done and gone!
Ok I don't rate Carroll but I think Henderson will prove a good signing and Downing isn't playing his best at the moment but he's better than he's showing. It's not happening at the moment and I don't doubt that we still need a couple more players but all you idiots that think success will be instant are deluded

How much he use to buy that 74 player ? and how many years ? when u going to buy chep player you are in gamble he may klick he may not. Rafa £20m player all klick very well.

Rafa spent 20M on aquaman what a wise investment that was, eh?

Did aqua have a good chance in liverpool ? how many game he been start ? when he done well in this years friendly match and still let him go to milan. he was bought in £18m anyway. {Ed002's Note - It was 20M euros plus bonuses.}

05 Nov 2011 16:45:13
why bring on kuyt instead of bellany???total madness,if this was any other manager they would have got them sac, kenny bought got ride of dead wood for more dead wood, his tactics are shocking its time to get rid of kenny.if this is what we are going to get week in week out then i wont be watchng id rather sit and watch paint dry,

Time ya picked a new team me thinks

You don't understand LFC

05 Nov 2011 16:42:41
When is it going to happen for us, Arsenal now battering teams, Newcastle very strong, Spurs still very much on top 4 form.

Liverpool statistically have had more chances than any other football team in the EPL however until we get a striker who knows where the net is we'll continue to struggle

dark shadow

See what happens when the two local lads are missing last week against WBA was only luck and a poor WBA performance

Sorry to burst your bubble mate but carra hasn't scored in 3 years so i don't see how he couldv'e changed the game so we were missing 1 local lad

05 Nov 2011 16:40:54
Alan Pardew for manager we take all their players so why not their boss lol

Kenny done great in half year but not this year. his choice of Henderson £16m why ? We Have Jonjo who is better then Hendo. Carroll £35m may be that amount of transfer money make him not to run always. Kenny know very little about europian football. so his collection is all british talent. Look at Newcastle they have bought player all over the world. we pay then £35m for 1 player and they take our 4th place.

05 Nov 2011 16:37:15
Downing does my head in does absolutely nothing for the majority of the game and when he does get a chance he skies the shot or flukes the cross not good enough

Blame Kenny he paid 20 million for him

Don't worry I will blame kenny

This could turn out to be embarrassing IMO
People need to stop saying calm down because we are gelling etc

No pace no movement no creativity
Joe Allen and Britton are running the game

05 Nov 2011 16:29:24
Ed please post this. We need more quality and fast!! This is just not good enough. Imn sick of hearing all this we are revived and KD is the savious nonsense. We couldnt get much worse. Results arent good enough and there are few that actually deserve to play for LFC!!

05 Nov 2011 16:28:13
See agger's lack of pace and now he has been booked for persistent fowling in the 67th minute.

The sooner you come back Jamie the better the defence has been at sea today.

Hmm funny you talk about agger and pace and then call for carra who is slower then a snail

Carra maybe slower than a snail but he know how to organize a defence its obvious Agger does not.

A snail who can organize a defence something that's missing today

Maybe the manger should help to organise the defence
Only thng we seem to do in training is flick peoples ears

The manger aint on the field we have no leader on the field, Kenny can't marshall the back line from the dugout

Where are our two leaders the captain ans the unoffical captain?

Failure to beat Swansea convincingly isn't the end of the world. Failure to beat them at all will be disappointing but not devastating. Losing to them at home will be devastating. C'mon reds a win by any means possible is a must.

05 Nov 2011 16:11:06
hiya eds dont know how true these tevez rumours are but i for one would like him at liverpool. this lad is like saurez he just wants to play football.man utd didnt want him for the simple reason that they had him virtually free for two years but when it came to stumping up the cash they bottled it. man city stepped in and up until the end of last season he was the dogs bo***ks at city then they get to spend x amount of millions and mancini stops playing him. then all this crap about not wanting to play, if he refused to play why did he warm up in the first place. the lad had warmed up twice to be told to sit back down so i think i would have told mancini the same when he told me to warm up for a third time.all the lad was trying to say was that he thought he was warmed up enough.come to liverpool carlos were you will get the playing time your talent deserves

05 Nov 2011 16:09:06
Hi Ed

What are the chances of us signing a creative player so other than Suarez - we might show a bit class. Watching the game we look soo mediocre and lak any edge to our game. I rather KK had started with KUYT, MAXI AND BELLAMY.

So far we cant even string 3 decent passses...
All that money spent on hollywood ball specialists. If we dont add a creative player to set up proper chances in Jan - we can kiss 4th spot goodbye.

Downing, Enrique and Adam bossing the game at the minute. If the goal comes i'm sure it'll be from one of them. Carroll should have scored like, but i'm sure he will get another chance.

always a red

They can boss the game all they like, but if one of them could find a final ball it would be a whole lot more helpful.

Just thought i would point out they are having a good game, as it seams a lot of people feel the need to criticize when they don't.
Carroll keeps wining a lot of the balls in the air just need someone running on to the knock downs, Gerrard would be perfect but its going to be a few weeks till we see that.

Maybe because johnson is the england right back and is a better option at the moment. what a mystery

Hi ED'S, REDS.

Come across this article today and thought of you ASH. I then thought who do I trust more a legend in keegan or ASH, plus from my personal view of the player.

Liverpool legend Kevin Keegan believes club record-signing Andy Carroll carries the aerial prowess better than that of former strike partner John Toshack.
Toshack and Keegan formed an amazing, and some would call telepathic, strike partnership. Toshack's aerial presence would always leave Keegan to put the ball into the net.
Keegan told the offish site, "What people tend to forget about Andy is that he's still only young."
"I played alongside Tosh when he was at his peak but he was in his mid-to-late twenties at that point. Therefore Andy's best days are ahead of him and there's still a way to go before he fully reaches his potential. What I would say though, and this is meant as no disrespect to Tosh who was an excellent clever player, is that Andy is better in the air than he was. He's outstanding, probably the best I've ever seen."

Come on Andy hatric today please.
Come on ASH support the players.

Ed, I don't know who else to ask, but could I get prosecuted for watching live online streams if I don't have a TV license?

Yes if the tv licence agency found out as you even need a tv licence for a 3g phone in this day and age as you can watch tv on them.

Watching TV streams is illegal regardless of whether you have a TV license or not. However, it is very unlikely anything will happen. The absolute worst case scenario is that your ISP warns you. Also, you only need a TV license to watch live TV on your computer. You can watch things like the Iplayer without one, as long as it isn't live.

Okay Comrades! It's match day and here's how to watch it live for those of you unable to get to the game.

1. Install the browser Google Chrome.

2. Look in the top right (your right) corner and you will see a spanner.

3. Click on the spanner and select 'tools'.

4. Click on extensions

5. At the bottom right (as you look at it) you will see 'Get More Extensions >>'. Select this.

6. In the search box type 'Chrome Live Football' and search.

7. Click on Chrome Live Football and then click on install. (it may download to a holding file in the bottom left as you look at it, in which case as soon as it's finished click there, but mostly it will install itself)

8. A small football will then appear in the top right (as you look at it). Click on that, select 'live stream' and reset the clock to GMT and it will list all the live games available all over europe and other places.

You may occasionally need to install other programmes or the link you pick will only work on Explorer (in which case cut and paste the URL into Explorer), but you will always get every EPL match (or any other). Sometimes you will only be able to find it with foreign commentary and sometimes you will get it in English. You'll get about thirty links and you may have to look through a lot of them to get what you want. You will also get most La Liga matches, Greek matches, Italian matches and French matches as well as top matches from South America.

Someone also asked about viruses etc. Google Chrome is actually far more secure than Internet Explorer so the risks are considerably less, but you should have decent virus/spyware programmes and run sweeps regularly as a matter of course.

The quality will also depend on the speed of your internet connection. If you have super-speed and have a modern HD TV, consider connecting your PC to the TV via the PC socket on the side/ back.

Cut and paste the above into a document and save it for future reference.

Mornin a quick question to the eds and fellow reds.
How long do we think we will be able to keep the wee man suarez ?
I have this horrible thought that if a sizeable bid came in we would sell (due to the way the owners like the moneyball philosophy).
In my opinion no money can replace the wee man at the mo.
What's everyone else's view ?
LFC1 {Ed002's Note - Moneyball relates to baseball and would not influence the owners decision to buy or sell players - it is a complete red herring. If a bid comes in I suspect it will be turned down as I inagine that the club are not planning on selling. If a very large bid came in I suspect, like any club, they could be tempted and would perhaps ask the player his view. I would not lose sleep over this just yet.}

I can assure you sabremetrics DOES NOT work in football and the owners will be well aware of that {Ed002's Note - Sadly a lot of folks cannot grasp that and it still comes up periodically.}

Right this needs to be said, Pool have spent over £100 million on players right, the only worth while signings in my opinion are Suarez £25m, Adam £6m, Enrique £6m and possibly coates £6m. So where has the other money gone? Well the remaining £65 million has gone on slug Carroll £35m, Henderson £16m and Downing £19m, These last 3 are a complete waste of money, Overprices for a standard that is not up to Liverpools own. Possibly in the future for Carroll and Henderson but not the prescent. We need players who will get us into the top 4 like Suarez. This £65 million could have been spent to bring in some world class players for example like Higuian and someone like Lavezzi with this money we could easily afford these two aren't veterans they are 23 and 26 years of age they are not just short term investment to put us into to the c.league genuine players who are proven players not like Carroll who had a brief spell at Newcastle. Click Believe if you agree.

It is not all about transfer fees, you have to look at the wages they are on compared to the likes of Higuian etc.

Also more importantly whether those players would have signed for us..

Bloody fool! We finished 6th last season! count it,6th! We simply cannot attract that kind of player, just yet! think before you post nonsense please Mr Unsigned Poster! Welshboy Dave

Sorry but that's drivel. Henderson and Downing may not have set the world alight just yet but they both had very good seasons last time. Transfers are always a gamble - the club can only buy whoever seems to fit our requirements, wants to come, and is affordable. How many clubs have been burned by deals for so called 'world class players'. Stop whinging and get behind the team. Praise Enrique, Adam and Mad Bad Bellamy and encourage the others. We are Liverpool!
ND

£100 million. A lot of money. But lets refresh shall we?
Players out: £80 Million and a lot off the wage bill.
So what replacements did we get:

Konchesky/Insua - Enrique - happy with that
Ngog - Carroll - Happy with that
Torres - Suarez - Happy with that
Kyrgiakos/Ayala/Mavinga - Coates - Happy with that
Benayoun - Downing/Bellamy - Happy again
Meireles - Henderson/Adam - Yeah i'm happy with that,

Not to mention the money we will finally get for Aquilani at some point, around 10-12 million, so we have spent £10million, reduced our monthly wage bill considerably and have strengthened our squad massively. I fail to see any waste of money personally. Maybe I'm missing something...

WelshScouse {Ed002's Note - The fee for Aquilani is going to be much, much less than that - and Liverpool are still contributing to his wages. Plus considerable amounts were spent unburdening the club of the players who were moved on this summer. Plus all of the fees paid were subject to VAT and agents fees and VAT payments on agents fees.}

Eds, If we get Champions League football, in the summer is there even a slight chance of getting Schweinsteiger, I see him as the ultimate replacement for Gerrard when he retires {Ed002's Note - I have no idea. There is no interest in him from Liverpool as far as I know and he would be enormously expensive and his salary would be very significant. I really would not hold my breath.}

He will not leave B.Munich. german player not much like of english football.

Why would he take a step down?

Anyone know how to watch the game today?? {Ed002's Note - http://www.firstrowsports.tv}

On a screen usually helps.

Morning everyone, i'm feeling like we're due a big win and that it might come today. Lucas will be instrumental, breaking up Swansea's passing game and I don't think Swansea will be able to live with ours. I'm also hoping Bellamy, Suarez and Carroll all play. I think we'll win by 3 or more, fingers crossed

Ed2 yesterday after your little sarcastic answer about liverpool playing league cup 2 days after the city game. I didnt say it was a conspiracy but a proper answer would of been nice.

Liverpool wanted the game moving to the wed
or a different date didnt they? Also the city game brought forward. The football league want the competition to be taken seriously so why are the screwing teams over?

Cheers

mighty reds {Ed002's Note - It was nothing to do with the FA per se, they were acting on advice from the police as there is a Spurs game and a demonstration or rally of some type scheduled for the Wednesday. Obviously not ideal, but something that both Liverpool and Manchester City have to accept and get on with.}

He Reds then pursued the possibility of moving their televised league game with Manchester City from 4pm on Sunday, November 27 back to the Saturday in order to give them more time to prepare for the trip to Chelsea.

They had the full support of Man City, who find themselves in a similar position having been told they must travel to Arsenal for their Carling Cup quarter-final on Tuesday, November 29.

However, the Premier League ruled out a change to the timing of the league game at Anfield saying it would affect their contractual obligations with TV companies.

YAH FA CANT DO ANYTHING ED THEY JUST CAN FLOW WHAT METROPOLITIN WANT WHAT TV COMPNAY WANT. CITY AND LIVERPOOL ACCEPT IT ? NO THEY BEEN FORCED TO ACCEPT IT AS THEY CANT DO ANYTHING AFTER 3 REQUEST BEEN TRUN OUT. HOPE YOU POST IT ED .

The way Chelsea go through managers, AVB will be lucky to get 15 months.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Agreed Blair. When he was appointed, I offered £20 to ed002 that he'd be gone next summer. Which he didn't take up I hasten to add. Lol.
The Real KB {Ed001's Note - personally I think it more likely that Jose will come back and take over with AVB back to being his no 2 again.}

No way. You're winding me up ed. Are you winding me up ed ?
Lol, you must be winding up ed..!
The Real KB {Ed002's Note - With Ancelotti taking over at Real Madrid.}

Lol.
I'll have another £20 with each of you on those as well..
The Real KB {Ed002's Note - We don't gamble I am afraid.}

Indian Buzzer

A question to the Indian lads,
What sort of viewing figures do the Reds matches get out there ?
Is football popular across the country, or in certain parts, or mainly the cities ?
Just interested to know. Thanks.
The Real KB

Football s quiet popular with the younger guys here ....mainly in cities not across countryside though i see the popularity if epl has increased in past 3-4 yrs mainly chelsea r popular and also man utd quiet a few arsenal fans too who r remnant of the henry nd viera era...nd liverpool r quiet popular too like 2nd popular after man utd i guess all over. though i find pool fans to be hardcore supporters and more knowledgeable than the chelsea or man utd guys here

Let me say how it operates in india. I recently came to US for my masters in computer science at wayne state. My brothers is a die hard arsenal supporter. And me, I support LFC more than my indian cricket team. Most of the fans in india who do support likes of manutd and chelsea don't know anything about football. They just support Manutd because it is very popular across the world and they just use its name to show off that they are very knowledgable in football. Honestly i know more about chelsea and manu tahn the people who claim they support those teams. In india everyone know and watch cricket, so in order to make themselves special they fake that they are football fans. Any way this is not the case with LFC supporters or arsenal supporters. In india u don't become the fan of these clubs that easily since they are not that popular. Only way u get to know about these clubs is if u have strong interest in them and become a hard core fan of it.

regarding chelsea, most so called chelsea fans support the club because chelsea wear same blue as india. LOL.

Anyway my blood is red and it will never be white or blue.

And i suspect since BPL is getting popular these days in India Mancity will get their undeserved attention due to the star names they have.

RED TILL I DIE.
Abhi

Thanks lads. Keep the faith.

Whats up with the FA? Our league cup match is scheduled just 48 hours after our Manchester City fixture! Chelsea will be at an obvious advantage due to their having five days to train!

Can't seem to understand them. Man Utd get the easiest draw at home and we get the toughest with the least time to prepare.

PITSILFC {Ed002's Note - It was nothing to do with the FA per se, they were acting on advice from the police as there is a Spurs game and a demonstration or rally of some type scheduled for the Wednesday. Hi Ed

Please tell me if you actually want Johnson at our club and if you rate him. I personally think if he is a bad trainer and has issues outside of work will it destabilise what we are trying to achieve at Anfield?

I dont think he is that good that we should spend over $20m for. What are your thoughts?

Speedy {Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with me wanting him or not. If Manchester City get a replacement, if he is made available, if Liverpool are interested, if the player is interested, and if the price is acceptable (and I suspect it will be around £20M not $), then perhaps something could be done.}

Team to play Swansea

--------------------Reina----------------------
-Johnsan------Skrtel------Agger--------Enrique-
--------------Lucas-------Adam---------------
--Henderson-----Suarez-------------Downing---
---------------------Carroll--------------------

Liverpool 2-0 Swansea
'Suarez
'Carroll

Agree Wit The Team, But Expecting And Hoping The Score Will Be Significently More, 5 Or 6-0, We Have Bin Good At Home This Season, I Fancy Carroll To Get A Few And Downing.

I would unleash Bellamy on the left, play Downing on the right-if he starts badly sub him at half time-my outfield players

Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
Downing Lucas Adam Bellamy
Suarez Carroll
