For f*** sake. Why are people writing Suarez's obituary already. Behave. John Henry knows how important Suarez is to the club,as a player and commericially. He's under contract for another 4 years at least. Who knows what will happen. The Barcelona thing was said when he was a young man in Holland. Just get a grip. We might not be mega payers but were bloody good ones. Get a grip, what you want his form to dip, get injured so no one comes in. He loves it here and he's loved here. Knowone knows what will happen. I've read on the same website that we were in for some players that made our deadwood look good. Its full of s**t. I'm sure a contract extention will be signed once we made the C.League, he'll stay end of. What doesn't suprise me is that Chelsea will be a place behind us if not more this season min. Same old tired team. Just bought another mercenary in Merelies. A.V.B, good at writing dossiers for Jose, still manager in 2 years, not a chance with that tired old team. If 60k a week aint good enough for ya Raul then were well rid. I was under the impression he was getting about 30k until a couple of the Eds mentioned it was double that. Get in deal in writing next time son. They would've given you your wage rise if they wanted you. Go and make the average age of Chelsea's team even older then their coach. Lets just look forward to the next game against Stoke and i do belive Carroll will play against Stoke, i dont care how big the centre backs are, Carroll can dominate any central defender on his day, ask Carra,Skertel,Kompany and Lescott, seem to think he won more header's then he lost against John Terry last season as well. He's a young lad who has the world at his feet, it'll be an amazing career, just like it took 1 game against Bolton to swing fans back in Henderson's favour after being slated by majority. Carroll has a lot to learn, its not his talent to me thats in question. Please Big Fella, sort your nappa out and you could just domintate games with your finishing ability. Really do think Stoke will be the start of an improved attitude re a drink or 2 and he'll have a lot to prove. Capello defo wants him right thats why he's going out of his way to tell him he needs to get with the programme. Really think that Suarez and Carroll will play against Stoke,Carroll to have those lumps followin him about for Luis to do his stuff. Jonson6

Luis Suarez on Barcelona;

Even before I knew Pere Guardiola, my current agent, I had this desire, this dream of a chance to play for that team,ť Suarez told Don Balon magazine.

Obviously he is a person related to Barcelona by his brother, but work situations are totally different relationships.

If Guardiola wants me, I want to play for Barcelona “ no matter who represents me.ť

Dated 1st July 2011.

That wasn't from July 1st 2011, I remember reading that way back when he was at Ajax. Could even be 2 years ago.

You left this out unnamed poster

"But for now, Liverpool is the only club I want to play for.ť

The Uruguayan star also revealed Reds boss Kenny Dalglish has played a big part in helping him to settle on Merseyside and play in front of the Kop.

Suarez said: There are so many people watching you. You feel the pressure of what the club has paid for you.

But I tried to live as calmly as I could, not to think about the people watching me.

The boss told me to be the same player I always was, not to try to change.

His advice was a great help and he was not wrong “ he was exactly right."

I think we should just worry about it if/when the time comes. Just sit back and enjoy what we have now and hopefully we are back to were we belong, then he won't want to leave.

Talking about Luis staying or leaving, is probably another discussion for a few years time.

Blair Mayne YNWA

Yes this was brought up when we were about to sign him written long ago no named manc
aintree dave

That was in an interview just before barca played real or manchester but it was a champions league fixture

Barca could have got him when he was Ajax. I think he will repay our faith with at least 3 years.. As long as we get CL within two. Barca are so up their own arse and probably see the prem as a feeder league so it's up to the lads and Kenny to prove them wrong.

I'd be surprised if Suarez was to go anywhere - but if anyone thinks that he's going to be any more loyal than Torres then you're in for a nasty surprise. The only thing that will keep him is if we start winning things (the reason Torres left) thankfully I think that things are about to improve on that front.

The problem I see with Andy is more to do with our tactics, Newcastle used to smother the opposition's box and cross short balls to Andy, Liverpool are playing very wide crosses or long balls to Carroll, or if they play to his feet he is usually very isolated. We need gerrard in the attacking midfield role to receive the ball and play it wide instead of playing it wide from the full backs or deep midfield. Watch Andy's goals with Newcastle to get what I am trying to say. He is class, give him time.DORSET RED

You make a good point, but Andy's movement in the box recently has been nowhere near as good as his NUFC days. I put this down to a lack of match sharpness. The more games he plays the better he will get.

RedSG

I personally think Andy Carroll is doing quite well. Yes his movement might not be there but he has been bought to give liverpool more pressence in the opposition box. Just ask the Atletico Madrid Defender what it feels like to play against him.

In those matches again teams like blackburn, stoke, villa etc etc he will make a difference.

In no way can Carroll be described as Class based on his performances so far.
There-in lies the problem with a lot of potentially great young players! People over hyping them. The weight of a multi-million pound transfer could be weighing heavily on his shoulders? Only time passing and few goals even from the bench as sub will ease the burden and slowly build his confidence? Then we will be able to assess whether he is Class.

Evening Eds,
I have read Capellos comments regarding Carroll and have found them in pretty poor taste. Either his English is still poor or his man managent skills are remedial.
I thought that managers were there to protect players, in this case he is opening a cam of worms for opposing fans to slate big A.
Am I being too protective here & missing the point?
Ultra Red
{Ed001's Note - Capello is a very poor manager being caught out by a lower quality of players than he would like. He is under pressure and is trying to deflect the pressure onto others.}

I like how in the Man Utd site they have nothing better to do the talk about our club. I belive that we are a threat because they seem to be talking a lot about us. They should fear us, because we will be champions this year.

You're right but I wouldn't even give them the air time Bt talking about it. They're sad, ignorant and obsessed.

And misguided, fickle and boring

I dunno.. I see plenty of LFC fans posting on Utd's and Chelsea's pages with a na na na-na attitude. Personally I'd like us to rise above all that and show the class everyone bangs on about on here.

Since returning to Liverpool, Kenny Dalglish has brought 9 players to the club for transfer fees of approximately £111m, and recouped £75m by offloading 14 players. After crunching the numbers, this means that Dalglish has only actually spent £36m, which consequently means we got Andy Carroll, Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing for a mere £4m each. How amazing is that?!
eds what do urs think
{Ed001's Note - to be honest I don't really care about how much is spent or recouped, the important thing to me is that we have improved.}

Any player could have improved our team though mr RH tried to send us down to the championship

Its even less when you take into account the wages. We have improved AND gone a long way to making us profitable with a nod to the Fair Play Rules.

Roy is a great manager just misunderstood like so many talented people

May be Roy will come back some day and lead Liverpool to Glory

who out of the liverpool team would you want to help you in a fight?ed who you going with?for me it would be dan agger cus i think he would be a nutcase.DORSET RED {Ed009's Note - Carroll or Agger. Fortunately I'm not a fighter mate.}

I see stevie g has quiet a dig on him. lol, for me it would be carra
TIZER RED

Skrtel definitely, slovakians are psychotic and renowned for rioting. Also he has a scary face, massive arms and body and beastly tattoos

Carroll or Coates, size does matter, Pepe would also be handy in a battle

Skrtel looks a bit of a nutter and we all know saurez is a vicious bitey man lol I would go for agger or skrtel and bring big sami and igor biscan back for a fight they were hard men lol

Ive got to go for skrtel. I have him backing me up any day. You wont get ant hassel drinking in a pub with him i bet
Warr68

I'de go 4 saurez if he can bite another footballer on the pitch, imagine him having an all-out brawl, GO SAUREZ.

RED4lifeNOTjust4XMAS

I'd go for suarez, i could have him on a lead like an attack dog. he'd bite chunks out of them .lol

Bellamy any day

Well now we know who the kids are lol

Only one of you lads got that right, bellamy ANY DAY, he's lethal with a 5 iron in his hand.

Pepe for me, him and enrique are our biggest(hench/tonk) players.

Bellamy, thats if the fight happens at a golf course :D

I'd take the king. Then I'd hit them with a cheap shot while they were blinded by his awesomeness.....

Google Adam injury Scotland and you'll find that he seems to have an injury scare after every Scotland game. Maybe the Scots need to look at their training approach as it clearly seems to have a negative effect on Charlie boy.

Wot a total pillock you are, once again another unsigned idiot, try actually watching the game before making such a stupid comment,he picked up his hip injury quite early on so how is that down to scotlands training you t**t
paul

Gerrard was the same for england, its the methods that they use in training that can arguably prevent or aggrivate soft muscle and other types of injuries.
Bit harsh calling the lad a pillok, youve just said he picked up the injury quite early on, he didnt come until the 80th minute, is that noy going to aggrivate an injury then ??
You pillock.

I called him a pillock because he's questioning the training tactics and not once did he mention they should have brought him off because he was injured,so get your facts right and atleast be man enough to sign your post.
paul

He makes a valid point, england have been critised many times for their training methods, arsenal have also been critised due to the amount of soft tissue damage their players suffer from, this is exactly the reason why LFC have invested so much money into sports science to help prevent injuries, Is it because your a scott paul and dont like people having a pop at your national team ?? also you mentioned he clearly picked up the injury earlier in the game, my reply to this was, he should of been brought off a long time before the 80th minute if he was clearly injured as keeping him on the pitch will only aggrivate an injury, more so than poor training methods.
Still think calling him a pillock and t--t were a bit harsh

I dont believe all the suarez to real madrid rumours but without being biased would you accept if they offered ronaldo in a part exchange. Unlikely but still. Your thoughts?

J matt {Ed009's Note - No chance in hell I would accept that cheat in our team.}

Pots n Kettles tho eh Ed009...lol. Suarez did cheat at the world cup and bit someone!.. However, i still wouldnt want Ronaldo anywhere near us... Suarez is a team player..
ItsNotRocketScience

Ronaldo has matured as a player and sportsman since he moved to spain. would rather like it if we had both. i think he wanted liverpool and not manu, but they gave him the money.

No Doubt about it Ronaldo was a liverpool Supportor

It gets worse here, just when you think it can't - it can!

I dont think handling a ball in a world cup final in the dying seconds is cheating. he knew what he was doing, he was ready to take the red card and save the goal as it would give his team a chance for victory in Penalty shoot out.
Thats not cheating. Had he done it at the other end to score, it would have been cheating as that would mean he wanted to win by cheating but in the actual scenrio, it was defensive in nature.
and even the court allows you to kill or attack in Self defense (so where is the cheating)

finally, one gr8 australian sportsman called Steve Waugh said -- if u r not cheating, u r not trying to win.

All I have heard is comments about Andy Carroll's drinking habits and as for F Cappello's throwaway comments about him looking after himself better........forgive me if I am being a little nieve here, but FC's comments about a 22 year lad drinking while on HOLIDAY with his mates, well blow me, how could he? I mean drinking on a summer holiday?? Also if all these so called journo's are so sure all AC does is drink himself silly, then ask your self one question, how come none of them can produce a picture showing AC at different venues surrounded by empty or half empty glasses?. If he's drinking as much as they claim then finding a picture would prove so easy don't you think? It's about time fans got behind the boy and made him fell appreciated. His workrate when you can be bothered to look, is a lot better than FT ever was and his efforts show he is a team player, not an individual!

ed, could u please tell me who this mckenzie person is and why does liverpool fans hate him? {Ed009's Note - On the Wednesday following Hillsborough he published, in the Sun, scandalous lies attributing the blame regarding the Hillsborough disaster to the Liverpool fans. These were based on spurious sources such as anonymous MPs and police officers. It was clear to everyone, including likely MacKenzie himself, that the stories were nothing more than bullshit. He later admitted the clear untruths were lies, and apologised, before atrociously retracting said apology. He is scum, nothing less. To this day most Liverpool fans, including of course myself, boycott the Sun Newspaper. Some things are too disgusting to be forgotten.}

Well said Ed009, most of us Celtic fans are with you Liverpool boys and NEVER buy the sun hail hail Timalloy

Timalloy, didnt know that about celtic fans, thanks for that cheers.......lfc

Let nobody forget that McKenzie now works for the Daily Mail.
I'm personally boycotting anything connected with the Mail until he is no longer employed by them.
It's a very small sacrifice to make, for what was a horrible insult to all those poor people and their families.

If you want to know about how Celtic fans feel about it get ed007 off on a rant about the s*n and mackenzie. You will be there for a week reading it

He now edits the dail mail so that deserves a boycott just as much as the sun. He also shows his face on this morning spouting hate so that's now been banned in my house as well.
I hope he gets 96 Kicks to the face.

MIKEY

To make a mistake or an insult, no matter how bad, is human. But to repeat it and / or in his case also retracting the apology for it, is the lowest any human can sink to.

As I do not believe in resorting to violent revenge, I hope Karma exist and will take is due course

He didn't just retract his apology. He said
" I don't need to apologise. Because in 50 years time there will be a whole new generation of sun readers who don't even remember it happening...."

Enough said. Duckula

cant believe people are slating Carra the guy is a legend and he his first choice CB. He as always and always will be Mr reliable he and Agger have a great understanding and at Arsenal that was a great defensive performance.

No he's not first choice. Isn't it your bed time?

When was the last time carra was left on the bench ?

this should give u a clue to whos first choice !

I have never seen so many so called 'fans' post so much rubbish towards one of our most loyal and dependable servants as has been posted on this site.

Your a disgrace to our club !

Red Til Dead

Seriously people need to get a grip cara Mr reliable more lfc through and through then gerrard. This man is all shanks paisley or any other manager would kill to have in there team I understand he is getting on a bit but to have a man of his stature around the club is worth more then any "marquee" signing. Anyone to have any ill feeling towards that man is ethier a bluenose or a manc

Quigz23

Maybe Carra isnt first choice on your football manager chap. Cause i believe KK has chosen him every PL game. Or maybe i am still asleep.

It seems to be carra this week last week it was carrol the week before henderson im trying to work out who it will be next week maybe reina cos he,s let a goal in this season or downing cos he aint scored yet either way im sure the supposed sepporters will find someone to moan about instead of getting behind the team jez

Carra IS number one choice!!

Why is he a disgrace for having an opinion.Carra isn't the player he was. I am not slagging a player off by saying I would prefer another player in his position, because of the style of play KK prefers doesn't suit Carra, and will expose Carra.I think Maxi and Agger look better under KKs tactics,as I dont, think RHs'style suited them. It's all about opinions.I don't think it's a disgrace at all.

Stevie and Carra love the club equally end of.

I think Carra is a legend and although not technically up there with the best his work rate and ethics on and off the pitch will see him go down in our history as one of the greats. I think he will be phased out this season and next but have no doubt he will be back coaching or managing us and doing a fine job at it.If you read or look into him off the pitch its said by many players and coaches hes absolutely mad on football he analyses everything (which can be seen through his career in his reading of the game and organisation).I can see him being brought through by KK like the old boot room way player coach manager.I think Carra will make a far better manager than Gerrard just because of his mentality and attention to detail. I dont think it will be KK who phases him out I think he will do it himself but not before teaching some of the youngsters the way it should be done for liverpool.
I'm sure many fans would love carra to play forever and they mean no disrespect when they say about him hanging his boots up the guys a LEGEND and i'm sure he will do what he feels is best for the shirt he has worn with pride his whole career.
Carlos79

People need to stop being so touchy when there's an opinion about a player most of which are saying carra was solid good defender and a brilliant person, but sadly age has got to him and if you can't see it then you can't see it others can like the manager who bought cover for that very reason,he also has mentioned he's getting on a few times in the press(carra) i would go with kenny on this and stop this defensiveness there's no room for sentiment in football, thanks

aintree dave

The game is littered with players a lot more talented than Carra that just didn't or don't cut it at coaching or Management level. Look at all the backroom staff at clubs? not exactly household names. Carra has already stated quite recently that he feels he is too bad tempered and would need to work on that at least to succeed. Keep hearing this notion that Carra will be kept on (jobs for the boys)
Without even knowing if he has a talent for coaching or management.
I like Carra and his backs to the Wall attitude but He was at his best when he was alongside big Sammi Hyppia who read the game superbly.
Don't know where people get their ideas from.
kidmillions

Isn't it funny the fans want sentiment to be shown by the players however its a one way street Meireles is a judas for leaving?

Double standards or what dah?

Seen this Suarez to Real Madrid rumors, well actually there is no truth ( CAUGHT-OFFSIDE CRAP, THEY USUALLY PUBLISH THESE KINDS OF STUPID BASELESS BU... SH...T) but the reality is every top club would love to have him. Won't be surprised if inquiries or a bid were made even early as January.

It's common sense that when a player plays well or i say extremely fantastic, no doubt that other teams would love to have him. We have to accept the fact. Showing interest in our players means they are good players. It don't necessarily mean we will sell or we have to sell them. But our performance on the pitch & achievements will play a vital role in keeping the top players at the club.

LFC fans were forced to watch their top player's leaving the club in the last couple of seasons. Well i have to say i am pretty convinced that won't be the case the seasons ahead. Over beloved club is now in safe hands (so far since that day 13 Oct 2010 when Mr Justice Floyd ruled that the sale of LFC to NESV can go ahead).

THE GREATEST CLUB IN ENGLISH FOOTBALL HISTORY WILL RETAIN THEIR RIGHTFUL POSITION IN THE FANTASTIC GAME OF SOCCER.

YNWA Fellow Reds.

Sadly I dont fully agree with you. Football has changed radically and club affinity can only be said of a handfull of modern players. Suarez is a superb player and a decent bloke however I believe ultimately he will want to play in LA LIGA. He is on record as saying his dream is BARCA and his wife is a Catalan so do the math. The problem is MONEY players will go were the cash is and were CHAMPIONS LEAGUE is played. Look at Nasris commemts he said things were bad after Carling Cup Final and he knew he had to move on, no desire to make things better or wether the storm there lies the problem with the modern footballer. Foreign players will always move. We are a great club with the best support in the world but to the modern mercanary we play in a small stadium, arent in the champions league, dont pay mega wages, tax is high and Liverpool isnt a glamorous warm climate city. So support Suarez and enjoy him while his here but dont expect him to be the one to break Callys record. There will be alot less heros like him or Kenny in the modern game. SAD BUT TRUE.

DONT BUY THE SUN

I think if the price is right kenny would sell and come out with his "no man is bigger than the club" which is right it happend to united with ronaldo and they bounced back so dont let it worry you mate

Yes,this is what I think will happen. As Suarez puts in better performances for us, interest will grow between Real & Barca. If the time comes we will need to get as much as we can for him to re-invest in the team. I would guarantee that he won't be allowed to run his contract past 2 years remaining.

So I guess we enjoy what he brings to our team & hope it doesn't materialize, but if it does then we should get a huge chunk of cash possibly to buy 2 quality players.

The Irish Rover

If Luis wanted to go and we were receiving a large cheque for him, then so be it. We know now that the money will be reinvested back into the squad, just like Irish said.

Blair Mayne YNWA

At the end of the day with all this Suarez leaving for Barcelona or real Madrid, is this not what the FSG policy is? Buy them at a reasonable price with a big sell on profit. I for one do believe that no player is bigger than the club and if an offer of 60 million plus came in and he wanted to go he should go. That is the major point. If he wants to go and he has done brilliant for us he should go with our blessing but if he wants to stay then we should keep him no matter how much is offered. In todays modern game the player has all the power. As long as any money raised is re-invested in the team.

Ed- interesting what you say about the youngsters coming through. what about adam morgan who looks the part and a local lad.... will he be considered for carling cup games? {Ed001's Note - I am not sure he is quite ready, being pushed into the team too early will just leave his career shortened. We don't want another Michael Owen, or just about every new Everton youngster, on our hands. You have to be careful while their bodies are developing or they just suffer lots of injuries. Gerrard was lucky in that he got niggles that gave him a break as a kid, Carragher wasn't playing regularly as a youngster. Morgan needs to be drip fed into the team.}

I'm interested in what people think of Carra so far this season. His place will start to come under pressure in a few months, and not least from Coates.

Let's be honest, he is still a quality CB.
He's not the quickest, but he does read the game well, and he helps the cohesion by organising the back four (i.e. shouting lol).

Forget his error against Bolton, and look at the general trend of his performances- and be fair.

Is he really getting slower, or less effective? And how much would we miss his organising influence?
I have mixed feelings about it- what do you think about his future this season?

I've forgotten his error against Bolton. It's all the others through the years that I cannot forget. He is undoubtedly the most overrated player for Liverpool since the war.
DM

I feel he is getting slower wich causes us to drop deeper when i feel e,d like to play further up the pitch i mean against teams like stoke i say play him as they dont have much pace up front but faster teams maybe he should start on the bench as long as coates looks like steppin up i mean who am i to say drop him tho he.s certainly earned our support he,s a legend and possible future manager i think we should let him rest a few games when he come back against chelsea rested he as immense i dont think he.l play past next season anyway
giblet

Just read carra overrated id say at points through his career he.s been well underrated there as many times he was playing better than terry and rio and got overlooked for england it was a disgrace sometimes but overrated no he.s earnt everything by working hard and been a decent guy
giblet

DM you tool!!
What about all the last ditch tackles he's made over the years.
Carra has been a stand out player over the last 10 year.
Granted he's getting on abit but he's still needed in the team , he's a born leader and organises the rest of the back four.
Now he's not performing people like you get on his back.

LAVERS

Carra as played most of his football under defensive minded managers,so my problem with him is his lack of pace. The last few season he has had to hoof the ball, because he doesn't have the ability to bring the ball out.He fouls every time he is turned. No one can argue with his desire, but father time stops for no one.I don't think his all round game suits the way Kenny wants us to play.He will be great protecting a lead last 15 minutes in away games, but when we are trying to go for a win his lack of pace means we can't push the play to the half way line.Sunderland 2nd half was a prime example of my point. Carra kept pulling the players back. He's still a legend,I just think we should be replacing him now,,and I also believe Coates as been bought to do just that.

Just wondering, when carra does give up who is gonna organise the back 4, don't think their's anyone who can shout as loud. lol
huddz red

I have always thought that Carragher excels in the games where we are under intense pressure for 90-minutes, our backs are against the defense drops deeper and it requires last ditch tackles and blocks to save a goal; the 2005 Champions League final is a fine example of this. However, he has always struggled with a lack of pace and feel he will get exposed with the type of game we play under KK where we are trying to close down teams high up the pitch. I think KK is in a very fortunate position as he is probably the only manager Liverpool fans will not criticise if/when he drops Carrgher.

JRG

Why rise to the bait - DM is obviously not a Liverpool supporter - and if by some miracle he is - he certainly has never been to Anfield. Carra, like every footballer throughout history has made mistakes, it's just as a defender his mistakes are often punished, unlike strikers. Over 670 appearnces in a red shirt - overrated - BEHAVE idiot.

John B

Carra stood by him from the start from midfield 2 now always thought he served us well time catches up

We all dream of a team of Carraghers
His song says it all.
Legend
(thats what I think of Carra)
Carlos79

Hi Lavers - Tool here (big one too!). I stick by what I said - he is (and has been) overrated all these years. I think about all the last ditch tackles he has missed all these years. I've lost count of the number of photographs that I have seen of opposition goal-scorers with a number 23 shirt lying at their feet! You admit it yourself - he is NOT performing! As for you John B - miracles do happen. I have only been to Anfield once in the last thirty years - but only because the ground is not on my doorstep - My 1st appearance was in 1958 and I made a lot more than 670! Too many fans are wearing blinkers because he is a local lad and a very nice lad as well - he's just not a very good footballer!!
DM

The general concensus here was flanagan was to be forgiven for his error at sunderland but Carra is to be condemned for his error at bolton - go figure!

Guys, as we all know Liverpool fans are brilliant at making up funny chants about the opposition, but what is the best wind up Liverpool fans have been involved in?
When Celtic reached the UEFA Cup Final in 2003, our last Old Firm game was at Ibrox, and the Celtic fans all turned up in sombreros, carrying every kind of inflatables and beach balls. The game was live on SKY and the kick off was held up for 15 minutes as 5000 beach balls and inflatables were thrown onto the pitch. As the Celtic fans all sang this chorus
While your'e watching the Bill
We'll be in Seville Timalloy

Went to watch against steaua bucharest at anfield in 2004?? in the kop, after the first leg at their ground were the pitch was just slush, everyone in the kop were singing whats it like to play on grass.

I think Kuyt will start at stoke. He seems the perfect partner for Suarez and creates a lot of space for him and we seem to be at our best when these are on.

If bellamy was used to playing with saurez id start him just cos the stoke defence is cumbersome at best and with the pace they both posses they would terrorize them its just if they have a understanding of each other that i feel would be the main problem i can see kuyt starting myself tho
giblet

Carroll will start

Carroll is nowhere near good enough for liverpool simple as that.

I don't want carra to become like hypia under benitez as in never starting

Depends on his performances and otheres challenging so not ur call

Im sorry but carra has been a legend but if their is someone to displace him and worthy of that place you cannot stifle talent nor can you carry players. If his time has come which i still think he will be around for one or two seasons he will be used where he best fits whether in the sarting lineup or as a sub obviously as a sub as the talent comes through to replace him.

Carra is being Carried by no one -reality check needed!

HI eds with all the rumours about the stadium and macca believing we are staying at anfield. Why was there interviews with Ian Ayre saying he was frustrated with the council and a statement on LFC TV and get us to believe that new stadium is the only way. {Ed001's Note - I would say it was to force the council's hand.}

Force the councils hand to what? It's against national laws to do what we want to do.

It would take months to carry out a environmental study. Then submit the results and make a Planning application.

Then it would take a few more months before a decision is made. Even if it was agreed then the process of applying for cpo's would start. Subject to 3 appeals right the way up to the European court of human rights. In short it would take years to force people out of their homes and at the end of it be told "actually no! You can't do that."

I hope this is true. Macca is normally on the ball.

Could always pass a few brown envelopes and a few hookers over to the council its amazing the effect this could have on planning applications

This is the team I'd like to see for Stoke game!

Reina
Skrtel - Coates - agger - Enrique
Bellamy - Henderson - Lucas - downing
Suarez - Carroll

Reckon that team could destroy most teams. Not sure playing spearing in the middle of the park against their big boys is really a good idea!

Danski

Looks good to me, with downing an bellamy switching wings

Carra will always play and Coates will never start first game. He will be eased in slowly. Kenny knows what he is doing.

Fensh

Akrtel at fullback and carroll up front u really havent got a clue

Playing to Stokes strengths ( which is when the ball is in the Air) with that line up.
Same as against Bolton slick pass and move!

hey ed i think the buisiness we done in the summer was really good, we made some crucial signings. but we still lack the one thing we need most a very tricky, quick rw, i am not complaing bout wat we got just thought we might of tryed to get on.

team for stoke

..............................REINA.................................

CARRA...........COATES...........AGGER..........ENRIQUE

DOWNING.......HENDERSON.....LUCAS..........BELLAMY

.............................SUAREZ...............................

..............................CARROLL............................

We are going to need strength in the air in defence and i believe although Skrtel is ok he give to many silly freekicks away i would like to see carra moved to RB as i dont believe they will attack the flanks much, i would give coates his debut as he looks a beast of a player, and with out a doubt suarez has to start with carrol as they will no all about his aerial abilities and just his presence will make any defence at ease plus we must be playing the biggest team in the league lol. i would give Bellamy a shot as he has what we need pace to burn and can finish although a bit hit n miss lets see what stoke have got in there flanks.

tubz

Carra's not good enough for a first team place anymore. I wish people would wake up and smell the bacon. If he was bought by Hodgson he would have been carted off with the other non-performers,of last season.

Skirtel is quicker than carra and he scored in the last game playing there, no brainer imop if no proper right back is fit.

What used to be special about Liverpool fans was their respect for their players. All good things go to an end...
Marc

Couldnt agree more Marc.. Im starting to get a bit sick of reading the claptrap rubbish that a lot of so called 'supporters' spout.
Some people on here are an embarrassment to the name Liverpool FC.. Whoever is picked to play Stoke will be the players that our manager see's as good enough, thats why we have a squad and not a team!.. Weve heard that hendo is a crap buy,.. Kuyt is a headless chicken, Lucas wasnt good enough, Carroll is a waste of money...And now Carra is past it!.. when a players time is up, our manager will be the first to know it and change things. Till then, quit ya jibber jabber and concentrate on SUPPORTING the squad..
ItsNotRocketScience

Carra is past his best, and Kenny will make the call, that's why he has gone out and bought a world class centre half,to replace him.Coates will replace him when Kenny thinks the time is right.I witnessed Hansen taking over from Hughes, Lawrenson from Thompson, from the main stands so I think I have a right to have an opinion This is a banter site after all and we don't have to agree, but I don't think I am being disloyal to the club or disrespectful to a player when I say.He hasn't been the player he once was for the last 2 seasons. As I say, I have watched him live all his career, and I think the time is right for him to be edge out.Kenny plays a high line, and carra as played deep all his career.

Im really happy with squad all of them except carroll he is just not up to it and kenny wont start him very often just wait and see

THE BIRD

Agree that Kenny likes to play a high line and we Certainly have not got a great header of the ball at the back. Lots of goals conceded from corners and freekicks a lot of them headers over the last 2 seasons.

I just want to clarify this whole Carroll and Henderson situation. May I first refer to our midfield maestro, Lucas. Now, he is considered one of the most important aspects of our midfield, our player of the season last year. Before that, Lucas was absolutely ridiculed, I know this as I was one of the people who wanted to him to leave. We all wanted him out at the end of his third season. But the managers kept their faith in him and what happened?

My point is that it took Lucas 3 seasons to become a fan favorite and actually start playing. You slaters are judging Henderson after just 4 games, one of which was against Arsenal. He was brilliant against Bolton and Exeter. If any of you read what Pearce said, Jordan was TIRED, worn out. He's being rested for the next International game and I expect him to hit the ground running after that. JUST BACK HIM.

As for Andy, I know he's been signed since January and he's had a rough 11 games. But he has POTENTIAL. The price tag is just a number, nothing more. If any of you watched the games, Carroll worked extremely hard to try and score, he is also still recovering from a knee injury. Just give the lad some time, it might take 3 seasons as it did Lucas, but I honestly can't wait until he starts scoring and proving a lot of us wrong.

Its their part to perform on the pitch, but its our part to the back the players and give them encouragement. There is a reason we are called the best fans in the world, now get behind your players and stop the slating.

RenegadeRed

Totally agree id bet my missus on him coming good and been a 20 to 30 goal striker maybe not this year but id be happy if he gets fit and fifteen goals this term like kenny said we bought him for five and a half years not 6 month hopefully he,l come good an become a liverpool legend

Great post mate...i totally agree wit you...we are the greatest fan on earth..we support our lads though thick and thin...we should leave that things to the king kenny and staff to decide about it..that why im proud to put liverbird upon my chest...YNWA

I hope u are all right and he does come good but i just cant see it. when he plays he allways makes the wrong runs his touch is awfull there is no point in supporting blindly imo dalglish wont start him very often. just not good enough

just like to say i like the approach we have taken in the transfer market of identifying who we want and getting them for a fair price.all those who think we over paid for carroll must remember spurs had a 25m bid turned down so we had to bid bigger to get the guy who was originally planned for the summer.he was who kenny wanted and he got his man. we have got such a great squad and iam so excited by this season.roll on stoke and 3 more points.DORSET RED

Afternoon Eds, do you think there is any chance Agger's place in the starting 11 could be threatened by Coates?

Cheers,

Adam {Ed002's Note - I am sure that the manager will pick the best players available. If that means Coates ahead of Agger then that will be the case.}

Hope not because he's in my fantasy football team!

Cheers

Adam {Ed009's Note - I think Carragher or Skrtel are closer to being displaced than Agger.}

Okay let's hope so as it is too late for me to take him out now!

As much as I like Carra I think it would be great to see Coates line up alongside Agger....

Adam

Agger is our best CB why would we take him out of the team?

Gyan? You are definately having a laugh, he is hopeless, ask any Sunderland supporter. Or are we feeling sorry for Sunderland again, remember last time we wasted 20m on Henderson.

How many times does it need repeating that Jordan did not cost Liverpool £20m? Given the player's ability and potential, I would suggest that he already seems to be a valuable asset.

I know the other day i suggested we should take a few important objects with us were we to move stadium, however I've had second thoughts. I personally think Anfield should be preserved and turned into a Liverpool Museum.
Wax models of some of the greatest figures in our history, extensive video and photo archives of our rich history and the chance to have a kick around on the pitch! The club would make millions from an attraction like that. Tours by well educated guides. A chance to meet some of the ex-players or current stars maybe? People would flock from all over the globe.

Appreciation to all the eds for editing and keeping us imformed on the site.(exp eds 001, 002, 009, 006, 028, 033.) Thanks to macca for also being unselfish with his informations and to other posters like Blair, Adam, irish kev, chris(i mean the controvecial one), James, irish red, Irish chris Burmeister(sp) not to mention but few and not forgetting the anonymous posters who make this site a successful one.
I have a concern from reading yesterday and today's posts. I know its good to exaggerate but it sometimes causes unfortumate incidents. My point is that everyone is trying to guess what team is going to play against stoke and its causing more Andy Carrol debate, so why dont we change the topic and wait for the king to make his own decision come saturday. You are talking about Carrol and Swarez who should start and you know the King can decide to start neither and use Bellamy which is also an option. So please lets drop it. Apologies if its offensive.
For your information we have a scout mission to accomplish in the uk this night fellow reds, Neymar and Gyan Lol.

I am getting fed up with the contstant nagging of Andy Carroll, just leave the guy alone. He scored 3 goals in pre season and a belter agianst Exeter and has done heaps more than Torres has for chelsea. Give the lad a chance, he need a run of maybe 10 games with Suarez with him. its no good putting him up alone as he relies on service and if he is not getting it then he will drop deep and and go wide out of desperation. He need to play stay in the middle and get service from out wide and from the role ( Suarez's role). He has not had that yet this season, once he is playing regular he will get heaps of goals amd will teroise defence. so I plead with Kenny, please please please lay him with Suarez and watch him show the premiership how good a player he is.

I was wondering how long it would be before someone said something along these lines once news of Adam' injury was announced.

Can I just say that there is no-way in a million years that either Joe Cole, Aquilani or Meireles would have started in the centre of mid-field against Stoke away. I would take Henderson in the middle every day of the week compared to those three.

JRG

Realy

If Adam is out id expect to see Henderson and Lucas Central but Kenny is not predictable I think he may put Spearing in Adams place and keep Henderson on the right and Downing left.

He may even play 4-3-3 with Lucas central and Hendo right and Downing left. That's what I would do personally

Chris in Tamworth

He may even play 4-3-3 with Lucas central and Hendo right and Downing left. That's what I would do personally

Chris in Tamworth

All of the above are very good options - Spearing to replace Adam or switching to a three man midfield, the midfield still looks very strong and creative. I think what it proves is that we are not short of options as people are suggesting! I would never want to play Stoke away with Meireles or Aquilana in central midfield.

JRG

If Adam isn't fit then Hendo in the middle with Lucas & either Kuyt or Maxi out on the right. Suarez & Bellamy up front. Let them worry about us instead of the other way around. Also hope that the ref is strong enough when Stoke get over physical. Total football on the deck & watch Shawcross & Co chasing shadows.

Capello also mentioned Lampards form when talking about Carroll, fitness and playing, not drinking unless its in another article i've not seen. I think he as referring to last season when he did go off the rails a bit i just think cappelo is trying to keep him honest an get him to stay clear i mean cappelo called him to the england squad so he see.s something in him i rate carrol when he,s fit i even watched 9 of his games for newcastle the other week just to see the differene and he is quality terrorises defences and he.l come good for us

Time for Carra to move to the bench. Mistakes are waiting to happen when he starts. Great proffesional and servant to the club, however Dalglish needs to be ruthless. Discuss.
RED FIRST & LAST

Ruthless might be a step too far. But yes, I'm a huge fan of Carra, but he's 33, I think he should play 'till the end of the season in and out with Coates. Then Coates takes the PL by storm next season.

RenegadeRed

Its like like people are willing him to make MISTAKE. ONCE HE DOES SHOW HE'S LOST IT, then you have a case, but until then ...ssshhusshh.

Carra has always made mistakes lots of own goals but all defenders do - What Carra does better than any defender we have at this current time is organise the defence. Coates may be a great replacement but he has a lot to learn from Carra first.

YNWA jns

Whos mistake led to boltons goal last week. he defends too deep because he is not as fast as he once was, he looses control and composure of himself physically when he is busting a gut to catch up or tackle. Need i say more. you want him to make a mistake ina crucial game before benching him. It could be too late then, we loose 3 pts that we should never have.
RED FIRST & LAST

You are talking Balls mate Carra as organised a defence that has finished 7th and 6th in the past 2 seasons. We can play further up the field without him can't you see that.He 's a legend but the time as now come to replace him.

Why would Real Madrid need Luis. According to Guileme Balague, Benzema is currently the world's best forward at the moment. Also said Real and Barcelona would run away with the Prem title. As good as they are and would always be right right up their, run away with it no,win it maybe, but thanks to them 2 clubs taking all the T.V money in Spain, it all goes to the above named clubs and they can deny it all they want that the gap is getting wider. 6 clubs facing bankruptcy, Greame Hunter is in total denial about how the league is strong, well about 4 teams are half decent who'd be lucky to make top 10 in the Prem. Nothing lasts forever or very few things in football do. Luis might eventually leave, he might love the club and the South American flavour we've got now, also winning titles and C.leagues which is what will happen when we qualify, and we will qualify for next years continuously getting to finals, making it number 6 and 7. I've got a sneaking feeling we'll be cheering him on in a Red shirt for quite a few years yet. Xabi will have probably told Reina what a bell is Jose's turned into these days. Jonson6

The way luis saurez is playing at the moment, i belive he would be the first if not the second name down on any team sheet in the world at the moment, who wouldnt want him.

In response to Mr Balague saying Benzema is the best forward at the moment- he is speaking absolute guff. Messi and suarez are easily the best strikers in europe at the momement- he's only scored once this season so far. anyway why does anyone ever believe a word that comes out of his mouth as everything he says(or most of it anyway) is a lie, not the whole truth or will contradict something he has previously said before. Mr b doesnt have a clue. TIP- never believe a word that comes out balagues mouth. thekop1

So does anyone think were going to struggle big time away at stoke this weekend, i think we will be luck to come away with a point,
who is going to partner lucas in the centre of midfield, mirelles, aqualani, cole, gerrard, adam, none of the above because theve either been sold, loaned or their injured, ??? i dont think henderson is the answer just yet, id like to see a lineup with who we have left that can be creative enough to break down a stubborn stoke defence.

Then Henderson will project like a missile from the centre of the midfield with Suarez doing his dance around Huth and Shawcross trying to manhandle Carroll while Lucas remains the boss in midfield.

I hope u get it y v we did not need that huge squad and y v will win on the weekend

If that's the case Henderson will play centre with Lucas downing left kuyt right Suarez behind Carroll. Bellamy to come on and win it for us--finisher

Of coarse i support the team, but i think we have been, if nothing else a little naive in the transfer window by not keeping hold of or buying more creative players, gerrard and adam out, who covers, what if saurez gets injured whos in line for the creative role there then. So who would you partner lucas with in the centre then?? Nim, simple question requires a simple answer, also there is a difference between faith and blind faith.
Jaydee

Hey Jaydee three wins and a draw....whats your problem? If you are seriously a fan of LFC (which I doubt) then start believing in them.

cozinoz

The Liverpool Squad list was posted within the past few days. The players on that list plus a few of the younger ones will be chosen to play for Liverpool this season. Anyone who has left or is yet to come is not included on that list so don't get yourself all worked up about them. The squad that we have is good enough and can only get better.
Dutchmal

Ok heres an idea firstly stop moaning and support our great club.
secondly kk might play with a 433 which could have lucas at the center and hendo an kuyt then carrol downing and suarez up top also bellamy and maxi can play either side so i wouldnt worry just yet

What a ridiculous post.
What if Gerrard, Adam and Suarez are all injured?

why not say what if Reina, Agger and Lucas are all out too? then we'd REALLY be in trouble.

speculating that we may lose all our best players at once doesn't mean we've been naive in the transfer market. It's only one more match without gerrard and i don't know the extent of adam's injury.

In any event, Suarez isn't injured and he's going to run circles around the stubborn stoke defence like he always does.

stop looking for reasons to worry

The only thing im worried about is suarez getting injured during the game, shawcross and huths tackling dodgy at the best of times

I see the andy carroll theme has popped up again - so it should, thirty-five million pounds, kenny you're having a laugh!

Just to clarify, I was aiming my "it's not sport" comment at the American crap wrestling that will be being discussed on the new site. Obviously I hold in high regard those purveyors of "real wrestling" of which some types have already been mentioned.

Chris in Tamworth

That's alright then Chris. I was just about to put on my saggy white long johns, fire the tractor up, and head off to Tamworth.
The Real KB

If you did that you would be the most entertaining thing in Tamworth by some way!

Chris in Tamworth

I was gonna pick jonson6 up on the way. Me and him as a Cumberland & Westmorland Wrestling Tag Team. Awesome. You'd never utter another Andy Carroll comment again. Ever. Lol.
The Real KB

05 Sep 2011 13:29:11
Agree with the carroll comments. The guy has been found out. He is a liability and at a cost of 35m is a joke!

Andy Carroll has huge potential as the new 21st Century Giant Haystacks. He's grown the hair and beard, and just needs to put on 25 stone. Then he'll be worth £35m. Lol.
The Real KB

Why are fans so obsessed with how much Carroll cost? So he cost a lot of money (none of it mine!) but no-one takes into account what other squad members cost - Reina £6M, Agger £5.8M, Lucas £5M, Adam £8.5M, Enrique £6, Skrtel £6.5M, and SUAREZ £22.8M. Those players are already worth more than was paid for them. Gerrard,Carragher,Kelly,Flanaghan,
etc cost absolutely nothing. Just watch what they all do on the pitch and leave the finances to those who know about them. What we fans want is points not pounds!!!
Dutchmal

Totally agree with the above comment.

Has everyone forgotten that fee and wage-wise we effectively swapped Torres (who didn't want to be at the club and hasn't been himself in over a year) for both Carroll and Suarez.

I know most of the carroll-bashers would've done the swap for suarez alone, but add to that throwing in a young prem proven player who has the potential (even if he doesn't come good which i doubt) to be banging them in for many years.

how can this not be seen as a good bit of business?

05 sep 2011 12:59:58
what a great start to the season. team really blending well - only one setback - andy carroll. i see capello is having a go at him now for his drinking. the bloke is a liability, not first choice for us, not even on the bench for england, we should never have signed him, he was a panic buy. what a waste of thirty five million pounds kenny. {Ed009's note - Carroll a liability? That is not at all what Capello is saying, is it.}

Capello simply said that he had concerns about how long it is taking to get back to fullf itness from injury.
huddz red

Hey Ed is this poster the same one who has anonymously posted 4 or 5 comments on this page slagging off Carroll? If so, why do you allow repeat comments/abuse? Or is it ok if I pop over to Manc pages and leave 10 comments about how poor De Gea is? {Ed009's Note - Banter is okay to a point. He write's anonymously and so I can't tell if he has debated the player in the past. You can, if you feel it would be appropriate, visit the United site and pay your respects to United's severely underwhelming keeper, yes.}

Laver's is correct 100%. Somebody at the London olympic games will be having a gold medal placed around their neck for winning the Greco Roman wrestling comp.Free style and submission wrestling are also sports. WWE has some great athletes/actors but not sportmen. Now try MMA if you wanna watch men and now ladies go at each other with amazing skill. If anyone has seen G.S.P eight or Andersons Silva's fight the last week would appreciate what a great sport it is. Unlike boxing fighters are not taking over 12 rounds at the top level of having to take hundreds of punches with 8 to10 oz gloves on. In the UFC fighters year 2 oz glove's and usually it takes 2or3 clean shots to end a fight as well as being able to submit people. Their are some gruelling fights as well but they last 3,5 minute round, and for title fights 5 5 minute rounds. No recorded death's in in pro MMA so far and Anderson Silva is as famous in Brazil as most of their top footballes's, Supports Corinthan's who also have paid him a fortune to wear footballer's,KSM i expect it no matter what i post, just prob off posters who've shammed Liverpool players an i've then gone on and sham them. Something to lighten your day.......my nephew who is 9 had his dad buy him a new liverpool shirt last year and put Torres on the back. Gutted that he left his dad had to buy him a new shirt so they got that and put Mireiles on the back in February I think. The wee guy now needs another one so whoever he gets I predict will be off to Chelsea soon. I have suggetsed he gets Dalglish instead as it may be a safer bet! The funniest thing is his dad is a bluenose and has to buy all those Liverpool shirts!
Iggypop

My pal paid £7,500 for a scooter for his son, with Chelsea,s sponsor auto glass,it looked fantastic,2 weeks later Chelsea changed there sponsor too Fly Emirates, and his son refused to ride the bike,so his dad had to spend another grand too have the bike re-rapped,so what team do you think his dad supports?oh yes Man Utd.

Please, stop him from getting suarez.

Good advice about Suarez. Maurinho is really looking at him these days...

I'm just wondering how we are going to set ourselves up against Stoke. We gonna use the big man? Not sure why they signed Palacios either they don't use a mid. Bellamy to start?

I think we will start with carroll up top with suarez just off hopefully we see bellamy at some point because stokes backline really lack any pace and i can imagine his off the ball runs along with suarez will be a nightmare for there slow backline

Ed with Henderson arriving and looking like a good prospect for the future, what do you think will happen to Shelvey? At the moment it doesn't seem as if he will be getting much playing time.

maka {Ed001's Note - he will get his chances, probably out on loan next week to get regular playing time.}

Think he'll go on loan ed ? We may be a bit light in midfield with Gerrard just back (could get a niggle) and Adam now struggling.
The Real KB

Shelvey ain't going out on loan. He'll get his chance in the middle of the park, but won't get a regular footy just yet.

And we ain't that heavy in the midfield dept. any longer.
-Meireles is gone with no replacement.
-Poulsen is gone with no replacement.
-Aquilani is gone with no replacement
-Gerrard isn't back just yet
-Adam is now INJURED

So, what is all the talk about sending one of the remaining CM that we have on loan again?
We need them all in the squad. We ain't that fat in the middle any longer.

BooDaBooze

Meireles, Poulsen and Aquilani have all been sold with no replacements? Erm, what about....

Adam?
Henderson?
Downing?

We braught the replacements first, then sold the ones we didnt want. Anyway, Poulsen never played and Aquilani was out on loan, so neither of those needed replacing.

Im 25 and have always loved Wrestling, It IS a sports and entertainment company, So both your 11 year old will enjoy it, And Not a sport are both factually wrong. Stop being a dick because its not your thing don't critisize it when its someone elses.

UCCM

I'm not critisizing u but wresteling is not a sport it's more like two big men getting oiled up an dancing.

Big red john

I wouldnt call it a sport i would call it acting. to me there nothing more than stunt men, the only reason i could see for watching it is cos of the birds that are in it

1) Nothing can be a sport if it has a predetermined outcome

2) Every time that a state tries to regulate wrestling like they do boxing, the industry has to confess that it is entertainment and not a sport

Do you need anymore evidence that it is not a sport?

Chris in Tamworth

Agree 100% , it`s not a sport or for that matter entertainment. It is something to keep the Jeremy Kyle loving viewers and guests from dribbling into their sippy cups. Oh and of course brain dead and overweight americans.!

The reason why we put carrol on the bench is Cahill and Knight are big defenders so they would rather have another big guy than a little hustle and bustle (Suarez)

Not right, the reason why Carroll was on the bench is he isn`t good enough.! Kuyt and Saurez are a better partnership and the team plays better when he`s not in it.

Ed, my post concerning the fact that wrestling is not a sport has disappeared, has it been removed on purpose? If so may I ask why?

Chris in Tamworth {Ed001's Note - yes, because it is an irrelevance and nothing to do with this site.}
------------

I am very concerned by the above considering some of the topics discussed on here are even less relevant and yet get discussed at length. Also, I would suggest, wrestling is irrelevant and has nothing to do with this site
Surely the content of this site is worthy of discussion?
I've seen many posts discussing the Ads at the top of the page so I don't understand what was so wrong with my statement that wrestling is not a sport especially when it is factually correct.
I hope you will reconsider and allow it to run

Chris in Tamworth {Ed001's Note - it was not that statement that I had a problem with, it was your suggestion that a separate site entirely was part of this one. Though I still fail to see the need to discuss it, unless of course you are secretly a fan of grown men in lycra?}

It just surprises me that such a good site would want to get involved in wrestling and I thought many would agree with me.
I suppose I should take your reply as "if you don't like it don't read it" which is fair enough I suppose. I expect there are plenty of 11 year olds who will enjoy it
I apologise for bringing it up

Chris in Tamworth {Ed001's Note - it is nothing to do with this site as such. It is a completely separate site from this. That is why I felt your post was irrelevant.}

Lol, I agree with you Chris. But I posted my comment actually on the new wrestling page. Although have you ever been to a wrestling match when you're with some mates and you've all had a few bevvies ?

We all know what Carroll is capable of when fit and with his head in the right place. He needs to work hard at the moment to get some confidence. Then we will see the beast in him unleashed.

Carrol needs to be sat down and told a few home truths,if he cannot control his drinking then he should do re-hab,he cost us a lot of money, and is on a great wage for someone his age,we can not afford to carry this idiot,we need focused and fit players this season,KK and SC have got to sort him out.

05 Sep 2011 05:55:08
Just watched the highlights against Bolton again and it was hugely impressive - not a bad performance by the men in red and a few outstanding ones (Suarez, Downing, Lucas). It's easy to forget how dominant we were but there were two clear penalties (on replay), an unpunished illegal back pass plus the misses by Suarez and Kuyt in the first half. In essence, we made the rest of the league realise that the sleeping giant of LFC has decided to wake up and get on with business.
For all those doubters (myself included) who moaned at the high prices paid for average British players like Adam and Henderson, it was a wake up call too. We finally have a squad of quality players capable of beating anyone on any given day.
Let's not shout about titles and cups yet but let's get quietly excited and watch the Mancs and the Russians start to brown their pants when they have to face King Kenny and the mighty Reds.

I think we might see both Carroll and Suarez start against Stoke. I know they have been rotated but I can see Carroll battling it out with there defence giving Suarez more freedom to do what he does best. Carroll won't win many people over on here but I can see him being a top player.
Heres what I would put out against stoke
--------------riena--------------
Skrtle --- carra -----agger---Enrique
Henderson----Lucas-----Adam
Suarez ----Carroll------downing

Suarez tucking in a bit more rather than play on the wing. More of a free role leaving Henderson to work the right flank.

MIKEY

100% with you on that one mate. Carroll and Suarez combined gives us options and gives Stoke problems.

cozinoz

Looks like Adam might not be fit for Saturday- who's going to play left-sided midfield?

If adam is unfit to play wouldnt mind seeing bellamy given a run out on the left side stokes defense arent exactly blessed with pace

From what i have seen of him in a games he`s played so far (inc pre season) Carroll gets bullied, he`s not the bullier. regularly gets beaten in the air and in tussles to get to the ball.
Million miles away from a top player.
Matt b

Maybe Carroll could learn a thing or two from Bellamy as i dont think i ever remember him being bullied off the ball?

Dazza

Ahhh Matt b the negative manc is back. whats up? nothing going on on your team's site?

I think it would be wrong to play Carroll against stoke as they have fairly big defenders and could handle him easier than Suarez or Bellamy who would be my first choices.

If big Andy is on his game, NOBODY can handle him. You anti-carroll nutters need to get over yourselves and try to understand the game

My team for the Stoke game:

If Adam is fit to play - (If Adam isn't fit to play)

Reina (Reina)

Carragher (Carragher)
Coates (Coates)
Agger (Agger)
Jose Enrique (Jose Enrique)

Lucas (Lucas)
Adam (Spearing)

Henderson (Henderson)
Kuyt (Kuyt)
Downing (Downing)

Suarez (Suarez)

Subs: Doni, Flanagan, Skrtel, Spearing, Maxi, Bellamy and Carroll.

Coates will not start and probably not make the bench.

Carra in CD with Johnson, Kelly or Flano at RB depending on fitness.

Through the Storm

Reina skrtel carra agger enrique lucas spearing henderson downing kuyt suarez

We should go for a 4 4 2 give carroll a chance and put jordan in the centre and bellamy on the right wing

My friend , it is not the ''Liverpool Way '' to bring a 20 year old defender from a different continent , send him away for two weeks on international duty , then hand him a debut at Stoke .

If I am wrong then this is my last post !

hibsylfc {Ed002's Note - Near zip.}

Just wondering- is there an indirect contribution, in that the more popular the LFC shirts, the higher the value of the deal we can reach with kit manufacturers or sponsors? {Ed001's Note - yes.}

Thanks ed001 for the rapid response, so is match ticket sales the main revenue maker? Other than the naming rights of sponsors.

With all the positive noises Steven Gerrard is making and the thought of having him back in the team soon got me thinking what we could do with him back. So had a look on you tube to remind me to get ready for greatness. I swear if any player score's a guarter as many spectacular and important strikes they'll go down as a top echelon player. Just watching him in action scoring goals that spectacular you wonder how did i forget about that one. Flanagan and Kelly's work ethic and determination optimize the character of the players that were key to the success of Liverpool's truely great teams of the past. We have got rid of the wage collectors and have been left with a team of select men that will stand up and fight in every match for us together in unison with quality strength and honour. Individuals putting themselves before the team won't even make the bench. Once the winning mentality has set in, the team will have their chance of success, first test is on the horizon, we can win without Steven and Charlie, as the team is strong and match winners plentiful. But expect the unexpected.

I just wanted to admit that my original assessment of Henderson was wrong. I felt he was more like Beckham than Gerrard. I was basing my opnion on his crossing ability & the fact that he was playing wide on the right. With Sunderland & England he was playing in a position that minimized his goal threat. After watching him for a few weeks I can see exactly why many have compared him to Gerrard. When he is playing a position which gives him the freedom to express himself he looks a real goal threat. I think he is capable of 8 goals considering he is a midfielder. This kid is the next Stevie G!!
SLODGE {Ed009's Note - I am glad more and more people seem to coming round to the kid. I initially had a hard job convincing people he was even half decent, but in my opinion he is the perfect fit for what Kenny is building; a high energy, hard working team player. He has an eye for a pass and a goal to boot.}
