Suarez needs to be sold in the summer he is a disgrace and i m disappointed with Kenny i thought he was very arrogant after the game. I don't know how he can say Suarez should never have been out. Ed001 i spoke to you when we first signed Suarez as i was concerned about his baggage. Whats your view? Would you like Suarez to be sold and another striker brought in?

Nicki YNWA {Ed001's Note - the problem is that he is not scoring goals and all the chances he has created this season he has wasted. If he can behave himself, then he is fantastic, but I do find him frustrating to watch. I really don't know, I would prefer to keep him and sign a striker personally, unless an offer is too good to refuse and will pay for a replacement and another striker.}

Or if it was a swap with higuin
REDS4LIFE

Unbelievable with an even more unbelievable response. frustrating to watch, you don't half hear some crap on here.
I go to watch my grandsons at footy training , all the kids ever talk about and the player they try to imitate for skill is Suarez there even savvy enough to know how hard he works.
And in my opinion the kids have got more sense and know more about and recognize a great player more than the complete numpties on here. Try telling the kids he's frustrating to watch!!
kidmillions

Cudnt agree more with kidmillion..... look at where we have finished over the last 2 seasons and we have a player like suarez in out ranks and ppl are saying we shud get rid!! stop living in the past and think were a bigger team and we actually are! players like suarez come far and few between and shud b a player we try to protect instead of getting on his back and coming out with comments like this!

Thats just it though kidmillions, Suarez isnt the player they should be copying. Not because he isnt a good player, he's fantastic but because half the time he is far too rushed with the ball. He lacks composure which would take him to the next level, hence why he hasnt scored twice as many goals this season. And also it might be better effort getting the kids into positional awareness on the pitch rather than learning some flashy skills, the flash moves should come once they learn the ins and outs of football.

Does anyone know what happened to Jose Enrique? I heard he's out injured. How bad is he?

Glen played out on the left to prevent bale from cutting in. Good ploy by Kenny in my opinion.

Everyone gave their all, I am impressed by the progress carroll has made much much better movement and reading of the game. We were the team that should have won it, more graft and innovation infront of goal. I thought the boys did a good job of neutralising Modric it was as if he was not playing.
I loved the cat! It was harry's spy. Lol.
Eds what do you think of the game and our coming run of games?
hibsylfc {Ed001's Note - I was just disappointed with Spurs, they got it tactically wrong, Bale is not good with a free role. But they got the result they came for, despite having a depleted squad.}

What do you mean ed disappointed about spurs game, we wanted them to get their tactics wrong. I really don't have time for bale.
Hibsylfc {Ed016's Note - I think he was thinking that we deserved 3 points today. all the players were outstanding, Bellamy was going again and Carrol starting to show his worth..I told you all so, he will bang in a hatrick soon}

Thanks for explaining the misunderstanding ed016, I always like ed001 's views and I like your very pro pool views abit like me. It's nice to see eds that are lpool through and through. Do you still think we can finish in fourth?
Hibsylfc

Ed016 , i would score a hat trick soon if i had as much time on the pitch as carrol , we all want him to do well but i think we need a different type of player , some one who can do things on his own with out having to wait for the rest of the team to make him look good. sorry if i am out of order i just think carrol and our home tactics i.e playing like the away team in our home games for the majority of a match until the last 15 mins is the reason why we are so far behind the top place. more ambition at home and we would have been well up there.

Hilarious when all the Kop chanted....
"A cat-a cat----a cat-a cat-a cat"

Two gripes besides the garbage I just watched. Why is K.K sarcastic with every single question he's asked? Their hardly trick question's now are they, there speaks a guy that is seriously paranoid.
Also, the crowd come to see Suarez play amonst others,so why does he,after all the support he's received,to the detriment of the club sometimes, does he storm off the pitch at the end like a spoilt child? Enough's enough with this guy,he's started to believe he's bigger then the club. Least he could do was show his appreciation and give the very fan's who've been so good to him a little clap after the game. He should of won it,probably disappointed but move on lad. Rant over, great site by the way Mr Eds.

J.C

Kenny treats the media with the same arrogance, ignorance and contempt they show us. Would you rather have Hodgson back JC mate, doing the post/pre match conferences?

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

I do think Kenny is a bit defensive at times, but Blair is spot on- remember the way the media rubbished the reputation of Suarez over diving and racism? Kenny has a better memory than most of us I think.

Luis' first touch was a bit rusty at times tonight, but that man is already Mr LFC- I think he really wants to belong to a winning club and give his all, that's why we see the temper- but wouldnt you rather have a player who is angry at himself when he doesnt play at his best?
On the plus side, he'll beat any defender in Europe. And he will get his scoring boots back on

And kenny knows when the supporters are happy, because he is one

I You don't really support Liverpool Football Club, do you JC. Stop trying to wind us LFC fans up

cozinoz

Stupid questions deserve stupid answers. and as for suarez getting annoyed, it's good to see that he will not be satisfied with anything but a win. thats the mentality we need.

redkenyan

If we're living in fantasy land I would prefer to have Paisley back

I heard the sky commentary comment on Suarez (liverpool) lack of goals in this liverpool team.

Is he lacking a decent support like Raul Meireles

Should have been a full-stop after the word 'support'

06 Feb 2012 23:11:10
Well as I said yesterday should be happy with the draw!

Those who suggested spurs have a bad back line are obviously wide of the target!

Those who suggested attack spurs from the start and we'll win obviously were also wrong

Happy with the draw, although we did create enough chances to win, however Ble had the best chance of the match and we could have easily lost!

Carroll is looking somewhat better but given his recent form that would not hard to do.

Onwards & upwards to UTD.

Mr Mourinho could of come to us in 2005/06 season, but choose against it because of lack of funds at the football club. That all you need to know about Mr Mourinho.

Its easy to win the champions league with a 200million football pool of players. Roberto Martínez is a real manager who has nothing and is expected to keep wigan in the premiership. Liverpool are a club of little to no resources so what would a resource hungry manager like Mr Mourinho want to come to liverpool?

Kenny Dalglish is a better manager than the football club deserve. Apart from Dalglish love for the club, he has very little desire to manager the club. So why would Mourinho want to end up at a midtable club that has unrealistic mid table club that has unrealistic ambitions of champions league football.

If the club was to find/taken over by a Billionaire who wanted to lose half his money on overpriced players. Mourinho would consider joining the club for considerble amount of money, but if kenny dalglish had that kind of money then he would do just as good job.

Remember him at Blackburn. It doesn't matter about the manager. The only thing that really matters is the standards of the players. Mourinho has no experience of developing players.

Arsene Wenger should be asked if he wants the jobs. Wenger could see himself out of a job in the summer if they fail to get into champiions league.

Total load of______, fill in the blank guys!?

If I fill in the blank mate, do I get a Blankety Blank, cheque book and pen?

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Mourinho did not spend that much money at Inter. Ed do you know how much he spent whilst at Inter?

Nicki YNWA {Ed001's Note - no, sorry.}

..blob-headed blob.

Why did fans find this to be a load of bullocks? Kenny could win the title with enough money

06 Feb 2012 22:58:30
Well what can you say. Would love to have beat spurs, but they set up for the draw from the off. This game has definitely shown that;

Our attacking play is too slow. We take too many touches.

Not enough movement from players. Too many times I see players stood still with their hands up.

Our players are not comfortable receiving the ball in in tight positions.

We need a QUALITY attacking mid able to give and go and slip in a killer pass. We have this in Stevie G but he is playing too deep.

We should have signed a poacher, quick footed striker in the window. Maybe there weren't any available?

We keep possession well, but how many times do we have pass the ball back? We can't score from our own half.

Okay, lets PAWS for thought here a moment. We played well, and should have won. No real CATastrophe, and I have a FELINE that we will come good. A decent run will see us CATapulted up the table.
As for Bales dive, I'm sure he would CATegorically deny any wrongdoing, but he'd just be LION. I reckon someone should COLLAR him about it. Shame 'Arry couldn't make it, but then trying to prove to the taxman he's not a CHEETAH is taking up his time.

Does anyone else think Rat Boi is the worst Sky-sport commentator ever. Really miss Andy Gray. Its a shame they had to let him go for judging a line persons boobs.

Neville is such a rubbish commentator

Sorry can't stand Neville but as a commentator he's miles better than Gray

I happen to think the opposite. He speaks the truth if you ask me. Andy grey is a pr**k.
kopfiend 1978 ynwa

Guess it's one of the few times I'm glad to live in the US. Here it was on ESPN2 and commentators were Ian Darke and Macca.

Although Macca was rubbish!

My favourite bit was when Darke asked him something, followed by 5 seconds of silence.

Macmanan then says, "Oh sorry, I was watching the game."

That's what your paid to do Macca. Not just sit their open mouthed.

THE macca...?...?

Myk

To be fair, when Macca didn't respond it was a comment by Ian that Johnson was the MotM. Probably would have taken me a few minutes to respond as well... Was funny, tho.

In macca's defence ...in that moment he was being prompted by the main commentator about something irrelevant when there was an exiting attack happening .

Myk, yep Steve McManaman mate. I watched bits of it on Sportsnet West here in Canada and just caught that part. Funny, I thought the same thing with the long pause too.

Thought we dominated for long periods tonight. Bale was anonymous except for the diving. Goes to show their best players were Dawson and King. Suarez and Carroll had 2 good chances they should have scored. Disappointed but optimistic

I really wish ever one would grow up and just be a little bit more patient, henderson, downing and carrol will come good theve not even had a full season, remember the shat we had last and season and the beginning of the summer transfer window, ngog, poulson, degen, dossena, cole, aquillani ???????????
NEXT TRANSFER WINDOW WILL SEE THE LIKES OF maxi, kuyt and aurellio, going, carragher wont get much more playing time, lucas will be back so we only need 4 top class players and were there or there abouts, but it takes time, look at man s**ty, theve been at it for 5 years, throwing money at it and there not much better than us now, kennys only been here one year, hes not even had a full season yet. guarantee were fighting for the title next season, just dont ask too much too soon, dont forget the yanks proper bummed us, we had to get rid of alonso, mash, torres, arbeloa, we nearly lost pepe, imagine if we still had those players were we would be now.

The cat was largely more entertaining than the game, unfortunately...

for all of you who had put down scot parker last year.

ha ha

Parker was MOtM

06 Feb 2012 22:46:49
seems to me that the team is doing all the right things apart from getting the ball in the net.

Otherwise the stats look good, if the stats remain good the wins will come.

All data shows we are on a progressive track forward

Too many home draws, letting us down.

Unfortunately getting the ball in the back of the net is the only stat that matters and we've been pretty awful there. Hope it gets better and either way a long ways better than recent previous years, though.

06 Feb 2012 22:44:48
Can't really fault the lads tonight. But I have to give the Spurs back 4 and Scott Parker all the plaudits, they were fantastic. That's the 1st time i've seen Spurs play with 10 men behind the ball? But credit to them, they came for a draw and got one.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

You lot always go for a win and get draws

They could of gotten the win if they came out to attack a bit in the 2nd half

If they attacked more unnamed poster, they would've opened the game up. And the way they set off from the start, that was never going to happen.

I'm still puzzled by their tactics? They needed all 3 points tonight, probably more than we did.

Confusing??????

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Its ok with their tactics!
i am having mixed emotion with the draw,
but their was nothing wrong with their tactics as they know we gonna beat the hell outta Man Utd and tht will help them next match day! :)

There is plenty of conversation happening about Suarez's kick on Parker being worthy of red and a suspension. It sucks for Suarez as he is clearly being picked on due to his reputation that he has built up from previous incidents. It was clear that he was tracking the ball and the kick was unintentional.

Mark

Spurs fan here ....
I truly believe Suarez kick at Parker was unintentional ....
I would also like to say .... Every Liverpool fan talking of bales dives .... There was a single one ... That's it not dives... many players are guilty of dives ...
From your team our team and every other football team .... Get over it ..
Otherwise well played ...
Other than the lack of goals was a good game

Thats bull. Im die hard liverpool and he is very lucky not to be sent off. There was intent

Have to agree with the Spurs fan here, unfortunately. Bale does dive (a lot), but so do Carroll (well, he more like just falls over) and Suarez. Personally I just wish everyone would knock it off- it's disgraceful.

Same spurs fan ^^
I recall him watching the ball not players positions ...
Granted some refs would have sent him off but I honestly thought he was tracking the ball ... Why on earth would you go for a player when you have a semi decent chance of bagging a goal ?

The ref has dealt with it thru a yellow card so nobody else can get involved leave it at tht and move on.YNWA

There's no reaction from the Spurs players, if they had thought that Suarez had deliberately kicked Parker in the stomach they would of reacted angrily. Which they didn't. It was accidental kick the ref was even wrong to book Suarez.
Trouble is some Refs know the rules but don't really know the game. Just like some of the clueless supporters on here.

06 Feb 2012 22:34:14
I've said it before - Suarez should have started the match. I cannot understand why Liverpool managers don't have the guts to start players when they are coming back from absence. If they are on from the start they have more effect and if they tire they can always be taken off. It's also time we gave up on this "We can still qualify for the Champions' League" nonsense. We have to start planning on next season and that means not using players like Maxi, Kuyt, Johnson, Carragher, Aurelio etc who will not be with us next season. What I would like to see is the introduction of the promising young players on the bench. Our best hope of Europe is the Europa League and we can secure this by beating Cardiff City. I am sick of all the back-passes to Reina, the mislaid passes when we are on the attack, the failure to make any headway with free-kicks directly in front of goal. I was brought up with the "Attack,Attack, Attack" policy that was a joy to watch but there doesn't seem to be any chance of it coming back soon. I was hoping to get a ticket for the West Brom match and it was said that I could pay over the odds - YOU MUST BE JOKING!!!
Dutchmal

He was only 2 mins and got a yellow card, u think he would of lasted the entire game, stop moaning all the time, next season when we replace players like kuyt, maxi, aurellio and get a quality winger were going to bum the title, kennys got it right but were no man s**ty or chelski when it comes to the dollar, next season will be a different story, look how far we've come with what we've got and carrol is going to be regarded as an anfield legend in ten years time i guarantee it.

If you disagree please say why.
Dutchmal

You (whoever you are, please sign a name) seem to agree with me that Kuyt etc are going to replaced next season. My point is that they should be replaced NOW. Suarez got a card after 4 minutes because he was trying to score a goal. We don' need to be a Manchester City or Chelsea (as I prefer to call them) because we have several promising players who can now be given an opportunity - we don't need to buy all the time. I have also been saying since the arrival of the new owners that we are not going to be a major buying club in the future. We have just bought two young players for less than a million pounds. Since August we have signed several young players and they are going to be the future of Liverpool. Once they are intergrated into the First Team Squad we will not need to be spending massive amounts of money and in my opinion we will not be doing so either. Have faith - remember that Liverpool is still the best team to be supporting - don't you feel sorry for people who say that they are Manchester United supporters - I do. I don't meet many but none of the ones that I have met have a real emotional connection with the club.

Absolutely loved Kenny's press conference :)

I thought he was shocking and he is my hero

3 months before the season is over and every week we hear the same things goals will come, I would love to know exactly when.

Wow Kenny got raw in his interview, personally i don't think he should show any respect to Sky has they clearly have none for Liverpool Football Club.

always a red

Anybody know if Webb is ref at weekend. I am feeling a little paranoid and have a feeling he will be ref.

I suppose all the money United pay him they want to see some return on their investment.

That ref tonight done a good job.

For all you who feel depressed after tonights performance we are two or 3 players away from challenging next season. All that is needed is top quality wide players and another striker with pace who can finish.

Not sure they should stick with Downing long term I personally would sell him. Carroll on ther hand has had awful season but is young and improving. Henderson is starting to look like good buy. Adam is a good squad player for me. Enrique good buy too.

I hope Suarez stays long term and we build the team around him. He looked a bit disapointed walking off I am guessing because he so much wants to win.

Steve068

Too rite - 13 r 14 players on the pitch should even things up for u lol

If kenny can do it with blackburn he can do it with us and everybody knows it too, whiskey nose, arsen w**ker, and the panel of sky sports knows it, like you say pal 2 or 3 players away, personally i think its more like 4 or 5 but hey ho, were so close

We deffnately need a right winger, creative mid and keep Downing on the left then we're sorted. If Kuyt goes then we get another striker
Cape Town Red

Sell downing. He is crap.
Indian Buzzer

06 Feb 2012 22:21:20
whats the point in having a winger who can't get past a defender down the byline and cross a ball? how slow is downing? {Ed001's Note - or, how quick is Walker? As Walker is one of the fastest players in the league, it is kind of unfair to expect Downing to outpace him when Bellamy couldn't.}

The only problem with downing is he isnt playing ?

06 Feb 2012 22:19:45
It's been said before and it'll be said again, King Kenny is an absolute genius in interviews

06 Feb 2012 22:17:53
I'm quite happy with that, yes it's another draw, and no we couldn't find the net. But we showed glimpses and with Luis back in full swing for 90mins next week i can feel the goals coming.
Again i'm happy that we've got a fit defensive midfielder, a couple of passes were pretty ordinary, but all in all it's great to have little Jay in there.

So over the weeks to come, it's all moving in the right direction, we have cover for the midfield, and a very dangerous weapon in Luis, it can only go well can't it?

also i checked out Spuds next 6 matches:
Newcastle H
Arsenal A
Man U H
Everton A
Stoke H
Chelsea A

where the matches are played spells !

I was going to type out an analysis for each player but i don't think it needs to be said, there wasn't a bad liverpool player on the pitch tonight, a few hiccups, but we played very well, too well to only collect 1 point really.
But at the end of the day, all in all i think we can take more positives from this performance than negatives.

Harry has denied the reason he failed to leave City Airport was that he did not know he had to pay an airport tax. Most let down though was a poor little cat who had braved the foggy night to meet with Harry to set up a new bank account.

Why the f**k didn't Saurez start? I could've done more than kuyt. Spearings passing was awful at times

He been out for nine games and needs to pick up his fitness. That's why he didn't start

Something I just don't quite understand about this sort of statement. Was he banned from training too? Sure, a real game is different, but his scenario is to me a bit different than someone coming back from an injury or something similar. It's KK's call and I have to assume he made the right one, but I would have thought Suarez should have started as well...

For goodness sake - he is 25 years old - he's been training all the time _ if he's fit to come on for half-an-hour he's fit to start if only for half-an-hour. we need him on the pitch for as long as possible.
dm

I'm pretty sure he didn't start because Kenny wanted Kuyt on to help with Bale, which was the right decision in the end. Bale's only positive action came after kuyt came off. Expect Suarez to start against man utd though.

06 Feb 2012 22:15:01
I'm absolutely gutted we didn't get the win, thought for the world bale was gonna score and ruin my week! We were extremely unlucky tonight, but there's only so many times in a season I can put it down to bad luck. Kuyt wasn't great tonight unfortunately. Have to say that Kelly was very very good, as was skrtel. Adam surprised me too, wasn't expecting him to step up tonight. Stevie was on it, AC was good again, bellers would have been better if walker want so damn fast! Spearing was superb but much as I'm gutted for me Parker has to be MOM. He was an absolute nuisance all night.
Looking at that performance, I have to say we're not far off top 4, just need a pacey RW, or even beliers right, downing left may work, with spearo sittin and stevie and luis running riot behind AC

Kelly looked so good because kuyt kept closing bale down so there was no pass for him kuyt was the reason kelly looked so good

I thought we played really well tonight some of our football was really good. Carroll was superb and won everything, looks as if he as got his hunger back. Gerrard and adam were both quality as well.

I cant see us not finishing in the top four. Also a special mention for our back four they were solid and a cracking stop from reina.

Mighty reds

I like your optimism mate but If we grab a draw at old Trafford and Chelsea win then that's 7 Pts behind isn't it? We haven't got a cat in anfields chance of top 4

Gazman

Adam, quality? what game were you watching??

henderson should have started instead of adam and suarez should have been on from the start instead of kuyt!!

I cant see us not finishing in the top four. Also a special mention for our back four they were solid and a cracking stop from reina.
==============================
There is a double negative there, I wonder if your inner self trying to say something, sorry mate , today was not a good performance, no one to blame and a lot of the players played to their best, but simply not good enough, I watched spurs few times this year and they were weak today, we did n't take advantage..
Until we learn how to create and take our chances , we will struggle, at least 15 clubs out of the 20 will come to Anfield and park the bus in front of goal, we need to learn how to dissect these, find the gaps and the back of the net, until then for every point we close on Arsenal / Chelsea , we loose 2.

06 Feb 2012 22:10:39
Good game from liverpool but damn... We just missed that killer ball or killer finish. I give andy carrol alot of stick but he is really doing well with the little service he is receiving. Downing on the other hand needs a brain. Poor again. Adam looks better too. Good perfomance. Spurs got lucky and bale is the most overrated pile of poo in the english game. Still unbeaten at anfield even tho we drew 8/12. Let's just focus on saturday now and thrash utd!! Again...

06 Feb 2012 22:09:03
Kenny get the whole team on the training field tomorrow and teach them how to cross a ball without hitting the first defender or the corner flag on the other side of the pitch. Also thought Spearing played well except for his passing which was awful.

06 Feb 2012 22:07:32
Andy C is improving looks great with those flick ons. Shame about Jose not playing as Johnson kept on coming inside on right foot and slowing play down.

My main point though it is now time for Downing 'step up to the plate'. As he had a shot on target in premiership this season. Come on Downing raise your game.

Spearing is doing a good job but needs to cut out those sloppy passes.

I am disapointed in draw but against Spurs I suppose it is not a bad result.

Just hope Webb does not ref United game at weekend.

Steve068

06 Feb 2012 22:05:40
If you have 8 draws in 10 games at home then we will never finish top 4 Draws aint good enough

06 Feb 2012 22:05:22
Pathetic by spurs. Played for a draw like a team fighting against relegation. Top teams do not play with a total lack of ambition, regardless of the opposition. Spurs are nowhere near being a top team because they still have a small team mentality.

And Liverpool are 11 points worse than being a top team.....at least

That's respect for the club, when united came to anfield they had a very negative setup...

06 Feb 2012 22:04:51
Fairly disappointing game should have won
Parker mom is a joke he's a knob head and did nothing important Suarez should have kicked him harder
Now let's see skysports bum spurs for the week and slaughter us for being weak and fragile and Suarez a racist again.
Bale on the other hand was a disgrace tonight diving and pushing as he didn't get his own way, best player in the world? my arse is he!
disappointing overall can't believe that we didn't win
Bean

Parkers defended was the reason we couldn't score
And I think skysports are smart enough not to call anyone a racist
I do agree Bale is nowhere near the best in the world or even the best in tottenham

Diving and pushing like a girl, bale will definately play for barcelona one day playing like that ;)

I've been saying for years Dawson is a top quality CB and I'd sign him in a second.

Chris in Tamworth

Why, he was apparently only playing against a crap centre forward in Carroll according to u.

Totally agree mate, when those rumours were floating around last summer i was over the moon because i thought we'd never see a fit Daniel Agger, but now... not so sure... All because of Agger and Skrtel, they've been brilliant, particularly Skrtel tonight. But i hear ya Chris, also i'd like him to not be such a wreck physically because i really have a lot of time for him, more time than i have for that w**ker Gareth Bale anyway!

Red7.

Thank you for that mr nameless.
Are you making the point that I don't rate Carroll and he is actually playing ok at the minute? If so then you make a valid point apart from one blindingly obvious omission, where are the goals?

Chris in Tamworth

Think centre half is a position were pretty much covered in. Didn't win many headers against Carroll eitherdidn't think he was that good to be honest. Say its a good job your in charge of our signing's with Dawson,Bent and Defoe your top targets.
Jonson

Yes of course you are right Jonson what am I thinking! Oh hang on, 2 of those players are in a team sitting in 3rd, 11 points ahead of us and the other has a goal scoring record of 1 in 2 since he signed for villa (who are a bit crap)
Naaah we don't want players like that!

Chris in Tamworth

I think Carroll did everything but score tonight and if he keeps on playing like that the goals will soon come..........then I'm sure he'll still get criticised by some. Criticism is so easily handed out but praise is sometimes shortcoming.

Spurs fan here, Dawson plays well with king to calm him down. When he's the senior partner he is slow, and makes mistakes. Bad ones.

Bale is living up to his name, truly "baleing" at every opportunity.

JWalk

06 Feb 2012 22:01:40
Think that's fourth gone... 5/6th time Chelsea has played before us and not won and we have failed to win 2, a spurs team with 3 first teamers out no manager and we couldnt break them down, think everyone done okay except for kuyt, but we are running out of games now and we can't keep letting Chelsea off, and we got the manc's next, just can't see us getting 3 points there, I hope I'm wrong.

Positives though I thought gerrard looked sharp, agger and skrtel rock solid, Carrol played well, throwing himself about and the return of suarez of course.

Overall disappointed, dont think they deserved the boo's though.
G BOX

The boos were for the ref not the players.

Full Time 0-0
Not too bad a result, would have liked a win but we just didnt have the final ball and the killer instinct (as usual).
I couldnt say one player performed badly in that game, the defence and central midfield were dominant for the most part against what is usually a rampant spurs attack.
We'll win games playing much worse than that.

YNWA WillLFC

Glen johnson did not have a gud game anytime he got forward he just gave the ball away with a poor cross or pass fair enough hes playing as a left back but not once did he even try to get to the by line an cross with the left foot.

belfast red adam

Utter rubbish! Was Kelly any better?

06 Feb 2012 22:00:27
Tight games as i expected! I did hope we'd nick it but Tottenham defended very well ( Parker defended very well )
United next but we know they wont be looking to defend all game like spurs so that gives us hope!

Also it was a quiet Anfield what's happened to you loud scousers! Didn't hear you never walk alone at the end either!!

Sky commentator has said tonight
"Spurs have got a backbone"
"Spurs deserved a point with their gritty defending"
"A draw was probably the right result"
Any mention of the Bale dive?
Any mention of how well Liverpool played?
In fact any mention of the fact that Liverpool had spurs on the rack for most of the game?
Joke

Why would we care what a Sky commentator thinks/says? I know that since I watched the game I am fully able to draw up my own conclusions.

Sky sports = spurs sports or you called call it channel harry

Any mention from you regarding suarez' kick on Parker

Martin Tyler was about to have a dig at Kenny for sticking up for Skrtel too, but he must've seen a replay of the stupid diving reaction of Gareth Bale and reigned in his words, then started talking about diving in general.

Too be honest we played at home, can you tell me how good we played? I watched that match, we werent nothing special at all, suarez should of been playing instead of carroll.RedTurk

Red turk you dont have a clue mate thats the swecond post ive read from you tonight thats been ridiculous. We played well big andy looked sharp suarez looked like a ticking time bomb out there how can you start him your'e shocking comments mate.

What do Johnson, Downing, Charlie Adam and Dracula all have in common?

None of them like crosses!

The wizards sleeve...

Johnson made as many good crosses as Kelly = 1 each.

Charlie put in 10 crosses and he's not even a winger

06 Feb 2012 21:55:52
wishes that we could get a winger who can run to the bye line and cross the ball rather than cutting back inside all the time

06 Feb 2012 21:55:42
im not gonna slate the team coz thats idiotic it wasnt a bad performance considering its a team 3rd in the league howevr i have to agree with ed001 in saying johnson is TERRIBLE!

I thought he played better tonight at left back

Chris in Tamworth

I agree a lot better at left back than he's been playing at right
giblet

We all know Johnson is terrible, but his defending was a little better tonight, seems you only get one side of the lad at any given time though, he doesn't seem dedicated enough give us everything he's got, will definately be moving on in the summer though so it'll be over soon, Kelly is young enough to wait... Luckily

Brilliant defending by Spurs, especially Dawson and Parker. Should definitely have won that! Not potent enough up front and I think Suarez should have started, he didn't see that much of the ball but he looked dangerous.

No, he thought Parker was the ball !

06 Feb 2012 21:54:22
Gerrard has taken all the corners tonight and all of them have been awful. Why does Adam not take the corners? Why does Adam not take any Free-kicks??

Adam did take 2 atleast and were nt much better?!
I think Suarez should be given the chance with free kicks close to the 18

but i got to say gareth bale is an absolute disgrace to the football game. amazing player but diving like that ruins the beautiful game. Wonder how u lot feel

TRUMORS

Will Bale be representing team GB in the diving at the Olympics?

It's not just Bale it's endemic in the game.

06 Feb 2012 21:36:30
Bale is a disgrace!! When you don't give him it easy he starts to roll around with the slightest touch.

He heard the barcelona scouts were watching so he was practising his best rolling around like an epileptic mud skipper impression, him and scot parker both deserve oscars for their amateur dramatics tonight, bunch of c**ts!!

Oh come on Parker did take a fair wack to his chest... you can allow him a roll or 2

I'm not the only one that finds the sky sports commentary particularly bias towards Spurs tonight am I? Perhaps that's why 'arry's not in the dugout, his ar$e is positioned directly in front of commentator's nose.

Pretty much a nothing game so far, defences on top, if it stays like this for 60 minutes, get Suarez on (although dunno who for, Kuyt and Kelly together have totally taken Bale out the game) and it's ours for the winning.

Liverpool lost to a team of underage kids in the Nextgen and then blackmailed Tottenham into pulling out! How low and desperate can a team get? How can underage players be seen as an advantage? Its like banning a snooker player for cheating whilst he is tripping on acid. {Ed001's Note - actually it is a huge advantage, simply because Liverpool have a number of underage players they would have loved to put in the team. They were not able to because they abided by the rules. If your staff are not professional enough to abide by the rules, then you can hardly complain when it gets pointed out.}

Ok guys this will be our main challenge as we have had poor results against spurs of late as you already know and the spurs fans seem to think they are supporting Barcelona...BUT we now have a fully fit squad (except lucas) who have Dare i say it Hit Form in their last 3 games Carrol looks 100% different player, Suarez is Hungry (just dont eat a player Luis) and Bellamy is speedy Gonzalas with an eye for Goal, Gerrard is back to perfection as per usual and i really think we can win, Sure spurs are a quality team ATM but i think we will prove just how good we are tonight...Plus Spurs have a Tax Dodger and we have The King how can we lose.

Enrique out for tonight's game according to a very reliable source on RAWK. Hope he's wrong this time.

Could be a blessing in disguise Sean mate. If it's true hopefully Glen will play on the left, were he plays best. And Kelly will be playing RB and for me, would be more of a handful for Bale, than Johnson.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

If that's the case we can expect to see a much improved performance from Glen Johnson at left-back (that's if we go 4 at the back). He seems to concentrate a lot more when played there.

RedSG

I agree with Blair. Remember the United game? Kelly absolutely dominated Ashley Young on the left flank, lets hope Kelly does the same. High hopes tonight! YNWA

RenegadeRed

Exactly what I was thinking Blair. Kellycan out muscle Bale, but might struggle with his pace a little. Should be a good battle.

Papa G

To be honest guys............i think spurs right back...will roast johnson if he plays on the left.....atleast enrique would have stopped him cos he never cuts inside so it wud play into enrique strong point as hes left footed and wouldnt need to turn to show him inside

Whilst I agree that Johnson has looked better on the left,I disagree how losing one of our most consistent if not the most consistent players in Enrique can be seen as anything but sham news, never mind a blessing in disguise. I don't reckon a couple of good games that Johnson's played left
back puts him in Enrique's class.
Jonson

Havnt lost a game when kelly has started

It's never good news when one of our best players dosn't play Jonson. But if he dosn't, it won't be as big a loss as you think. Play Glen on the left, Kelly on the right problem solved, capiche?

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Now you kindly pointed out what gonna happen without Enrique, things become a lot more clearer Blair. Still not a blessing in disguise with the big games coming up.

Don't know how long he's out for Jonson mate. If it is for a few weeks/games, then Glen will do a good job for us. And we have Kelly playing RB, in the meantime. Which takes some of the sting out of, the Enrique injury. Fingers crossed it's not the bad.

Let's hope so mate,Johnson has done well 1 on 1 against Kyle Walker to be fair him Blair. Spurs their for the taking,on doubt.

Why is everyone not including Carroll in their teams? He was great last 2 games why drop him now?

Should drop Kuyt he will end up getting sold in the summer due to his age Carrol is here for 5 years and getting his form back him Gerrard and suarez will be unstoppable

06 Feb 2012 17:12:43
bellamy and carroll upfront
suarez and adam to come off the bench
gerrard and bellamy to play upfront

06 Feb 2012 16:57:17
hey lfc fans.........

unfortunately it will be the first home defeat for you guys for the season.

3-1 prediction and spurs goals will come from counter attacks

just believe they have slightly more pace and quality when it comes to attacking and finishing

coolbreeze!

Surely you mean 3-2 to us im sorry but you are not Barca just some lucky team ran by a Tax dodger You should be afraid my simple minded friend we steam rolled Utd, City and guess what your next

Rumours that Enrique may be out tonight with a dodgy hamstring?

Enrique has a hamstring injury and will miss tonight's game against Spurs and possibly a further two after that. Big loss quality LB wish United had gone for him (I haven't come on here to stir any s*** just thought I'd let you all know incase you didn't)

5-0 Revenge tonight!

I hope so mate :) I'm very nervous but hopefully we thrash them.

06 Feb 2012 16:39:07
I've heard a rumour that Enrique might be out for tonight's game. can anyone confirm if this is true? I certainly hope not.

According to red otter (below) he is out injured.
bit of a blow, but still confident of the win!
Come on Liverpool!
Paul Mc

He is out hammy's gone

06 Feb 2012 16:36:46
Jermain Defoe, Emmanuel Adebayor and Rafael van der Vaart are all injury doubts.

Aaron Lennon is struggling with a hamstring problem, while William Gallas and Tom Huddlestone are both out.

Great News for Liverpool!

ENRIQUE out with hamstring injury..not so good news but with Johnson swtiched to left back and Kelly deputising at right back Bale should be covered better...

Red Otter

I think Johnson defends better on the left.

Where worrying too much about the other team and people are saying to set out the team to play against bale, modric etc, lets just set out the way we have been and play our own game, last time we tried to play the tactics game we lost.

I agree, some of these posters are making me laugh. its only spurs. our attack just has to be better than theres. gonna be a belter game. 4-3

Just wanted to have a little rant about the FA. We all know what it really stands for ! I have just noticed today that the FA, in their infinate wisdom, is seeking advice on whether Capello has broken his contract by speaking about the Terry situation and the decision they have taken to remove him as captain. Yet again the FA have baffled me with their ability to screw up any situation that is put in front of them. It seems to me that the last thing England needs before a major tournament is this bunch of morons having a go at the manager ! They have made an absolute farce of the Suarez case and a complete balls up with Terry which has now spilled into a ruck with the England manager. Is it just me or is the FA just full of overpaid pillocks who couldn't organise a preverbial knees up in brewery... They are a bunch of media driven meglomaniacs who are destroying football in this country. I think it's high time football was given an almighty shake up from top to bottom or our beloved game is in danger of becoming an absolute joke.
The boys will run riot tonight and put the spuds back in their place...Suarez to come on and net the winner!! Tobiwan YNWA

The only thing I would disagree with you about, is in my opinion, you have let them off way too lightly. It wouldn't be too bad if they were just embarrassing and inept. They are worse than that. They are making the rest of the footballing world hate us, and worse still, England football supporters have been tarred with the same brush. I doubt the FA could have possibly done more damage to the perception of the state of English football than what they have managed to achieve in 1 season. They are idiots.

Well said mate,a bunch of old whoppers who are totally out of touch with the modern game. It's plain wrong to have guys who need a nurse on standby because the've lost their marbles,or control of the're bladder and bowels to boot. Just not with the programme.
Sooner a professional outfit are put in charge to run the game,ie the Premier league, the better.
These gaffs and cock ups will continue as long asa bunch amateurs are in charge.

Just got a feelin that Gerrard will make up for a bit of lost time and score a pile driver from outside the box tonight.
Spurs have got some good attacking weapons, but if we can keep eleven men on the pitch,3-1 to us I reckon but any win will do. Not as strong at the back as us,whichever way we use Suarez,a goal for him wouldn't go a miss. Here's hoping.

Hi everyone and eds

Is Bellamy banned for tonight's game

Thank u
Liverpool fc {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

Weren't all yellow cards up to the end of last year cancelled?
Dutchmal

The answer to both questions above is No and No.... I think he has 4 yellows so far this season. We haven't reached the cut off for 5 yet.

Richards

Thank you

Liverpool fc

The cut off was last month its now 10 yellows for a ban

06 Feb 2012 15:55:56
I think key to tonight's game is controlling the midfield, and that is a tough act against Spurs. Certainly Adam has shown that he is too slow to do it, though he is our top assist man so I would like to have him in there, just not against Spurs. Spearing will offer more cover, and certainly we will need even the attackers to track back on Bale and Modric. Going to be tough but I think we'll get them 2 - 1. Bellamy/Carroll the goal scorers. Suarez will come on in second half.

I would try to keep Spurs narrow as to take the pace they have down the flanks away even though Modric is in Midfield.

KNEE JERK

06 Feb 2012 15:55:48
Think Liverpool will have learnt from previous games against Spurs? We definitely have the players to boss the midfield and control the game. Think Downing will play in front of Johnson because of his pace tracking back against Bale if need be. With Suarez, Bellamy and Downing not giving Spurs back line any time on the ball forcing them into mistakes or to hit long hopeful balls. There by cutting out Modric who is the danger. He won't get in the game.

...........................Reina...........................
Johnson......Skyrtle..........Agger.........Enrique
.....Henderson.......Gerrard........Adam...........
Downing.........................................Bellamy
.........................Suarez............................

Come on you Redmen 3-1 will do nicely.

Hi Eds,

Tell me, what is the meaning of life? What does the future hold? What am I thinking?

I presume you can answer some of these basic questions seeing as most people believe you know what the summer transfer window holds? Seriously, keep up the good work.

As for tonight, come on LFC... Welcome back to the pitch Mr Suarez!

06 Feb 2012 15:44:22
We need to play suarez and Bellamy upfront, king and Dawson will struggle with the pace of Bellamy and skill of Suarez, they will close them down quick and make them panick which will lead to mistakes.we need to attack them down the right because Assou ekotto is a liability and gives the ball away alot.Liverpool to win 3-1 and gerrard to score a pen.

Dawsons out I think, it will be kaboul and king, I think we should start with Carroll and brigg suarez on later :)!

Kaboul is out i think

06 Feb 2012 15:40:12
How can you muppets still class your club as the biggest in the world. And to say man Utds 2 best players are giggs and scholes and there ageing is a bit sad. Have you not seen Rooney and Valencia play this year or last year for that matter. And scholes is still the best player to ever play in the premier league so who wouldn't take him back. Gerrard couldn't get close to him last week and admitted as much after the game.
Shay

That's because he hadn't had a shower since he retired!
DM

In regards to the Gerrard bit - Scholes was popping up recieving the ball from deep, so were you expecting Gerrard to press him? I wouldn't like you making any tactical decisions, maybe that's why you're a keyboard warrior and not involved within professional football.

Maybe Gerrard should have took the Fabrice Muamba role or possibly even the Darren Fletcher one, whereby you have zero involvement with play and just man-mark a player to death and call yourself a good defensive midfielder?

2-1. Toodles.

Obviously you watched a different game it was probably gerrard didnt want to get too close to scholes because of his crap tackling anything above the waist is fair game .I do have to concede you have got one player in your team I wish we had HOWARD WEBB closely followed by the FA how many penalties are you down for on Saturday?

Howya Shay, i agree rooney is the best player ye have, thats because hes a scouser, Valencia is a bit like Nani, in and out of the game. The reason Scholes and Giggs are in the team is that slur alex dosent trust the rest of the team to do the job, and to be honest neither does anyone else. As for being a big club, that dosent happen over night, but yer getting there!
JayB

If mancs want to bury you heads in sand,
we'll be happy to kick your asses,
you are not going to win the premiere league, with you aging team,
nor the champions league
nor the FA cup,

In fact I heard NASA are going to be showing kids around the trophy cabinet at old trafford this year to explain the concept of empty space - because its going to be void!

I love when Mancs are allowed out for the day and come and visit us with their horrid logic and idiotic comments. Your 3-3 draw was like a victory to ya. A bunch of us sent you lot respect over on ur page on the anniversary of the Munich disaster. Remember Busby was originally a Scouser, and we always remember that. LFC are is good shape lads. 2011/12 was about getting back to the Liverpool way. A Cup or 2 and a top four will be a great season and we'll push on next year to challenge for the title. I think Spudz are the only top 6 club that don't fear us. We'll try to change that tonight. Looking forward to the month for our club. It months like these that will help springboard us back where we belong. We got the owners, the board, the management, the senior squad and the Academy in place to see us return to where we belong. Eds, I have a couple questions regarding Champions League Qualification. I realize the EPL have 4 CL spots. Is there any way to earn more spots, even play in spots? I think the EPL is as strong as it has been in many years and is much deeper than any of the other leagues in Europe. I imagine that performance in the Champions League of the British teams has something to do with it, but is there any way to earn more spots in qualifying? {Ed002's Note - It is not possible.}

How can you do a Team of the Week without having played all the games? That is more like a Team of the Weekend if anything.

Tonights team selection is a nightmare, not only in choosing the formation but the personal. The hardest one for me would be dropping Carroll, he's only going to get better with game time, hes slowing gaining confidence and simply starting him tonight would be another great boost. But the team comes first and the majority of fans I guess would have Suarez/Bellamy in given the choice. Im not sure you can start both Carroll and Suarez because of the strength of the Spurs midfield, but we are at home and should be looking to be on the front foot.

I wouldn't want to be Kenny tonight but I'm absolutely buzzing for the game, a big performance tonight would go a long, long way. Let's get behind Kennys decisions and support Liverpool to a vital 3 points.

YNWA

I dont your agument for not having both Carroll and Suarez on doesnt hold up.

Brilliant sentence, congratulations.

I didn't say we shouldn't do it, I just think Kenny might be slightly cautious with their midfield in mind. Personally, I think Liverpool should attack, it's at Anfield and it's time to show the full extent of our attack.

06 Feb 2012 13:24:23
This is not a negative... but I've just been chatting to a fellow Liverpool fan about tonights game and we listed the Spurs team. Harry has quietly built a very good team and look formidable.

I think we can beat them but we'll have to be on top of our game and limit mistakes - I know that's a given, but seriously, Spurs have some class in that team.

Adey, VDV, Bale, Modric, Lennon, Parker, Defoe...

Shame a lot of them are injured. The spuds will be on here later complaining about that when we beat them good....
Quigz23

True Harry has spent alot, but will Spurs be able to sustain the spending? No, VDV injury prone, Parker wrong side of 30, Defoe injury prone and nearly 30, Modric and Bale could be leaving, King quality player but his knee's are in bits. Harry is a boom and bust manager.

06 Feb 2012 13:13:40
It's strange... most teams posted seem to have one thing in common: no Henderson. I think he's played very well in recent games, he might have to self sacrifice himself tonight by playing right mid to counter Bale. Whilst he's not a natural there his energy should help Johnson out defensively whilst going forward I expect whoever Kenny picks the formation to be relatively fluid.

Richards

I agree. I think he is quietly proving a lot of people wrong. If people love kuyt for his work rate then they've gotta love henderson too. Hes got good pace, great energy and very good technique also. I'm just waiting for him to start influencing games a bit more but hopefully that will come with time/confidence. He's got a good future ahead of him.

Leave him in the centre and play Gerrard wide right in a 4-4-2:-

-----------Carroll---Suarez-----------

Downing-----------------------Gerrard
-----------Adams--Henderson---------

Enrique------------------------Johnson
-----------Agger-----Skrtel------------

--------------Mr Dependable-----------

Subs From:- Bellamy, Kuyt, Kelly, Shelvey, Maxi, Flanagan, Carragher.

Spearing???

Big Bill

I cant see Gerrard moved to the right...
1. He's not long back from injury
2. Marking/Tracking Bale would knacker him out and probably lessen his impact on the game.
I think that Spearing is a definite with Gerrard in CM, Henderson Right and Bellamy/Downing on the left.

Richards

06 Feb 2012 12:49:52
Why was it reported in the Sunday papers that due to Spurs pulling out of the NextGen competition that there had been a big confrontation between the club officials. Surely the UEFA officials were the ones making any decision on the fielding of inelligible players from reading the squad sheets that had been submitted pre tournament. The London centric press trying to cause trouble in my view.

Liverpool lodged a complaint regarding spurs fielding ineligible players, spurs withdrew nearly immediately, Liverpool were given a route to the next round. There's nothing Liverpool have done except keep to the rules.

That's to my knowledge if I remember correctly.

Ed001 (if you're about),
I'm impressed that Bellamy is getting quite a lot of game time lately, especially considering his knee problems.
Is Kenny laying off him for training, or what ?
The Real KB {Ed001's Note - yes, he is being managed as they say, he has special requirements. But then all the players do individually mapped out training routines, when they are not on the training pitches. It seems to be working for Agger as well.}

Tonight is a must win game and also the game at O.T is a must win- if we win we shall be on for 4th and Spurs play Arsenal next weekend- it is not inconceivable that the teams around can get closer to third if they lose against us and draw v Arsenal.
There is still a lot of football to be played before the end of the season.
As regards tonights team I would stifle thier midfield by playing five with Spearing and Gerrard doing the holding and Henderson supporting a lone striker. I would have Kuyt on the right and Downing on the left.
Should Kenny play Carroll as the lone striker? Despite his goal last week and his better performances of late, I would go for Bellmay as he can run the centre backs ragged. Kaboul and King will be more than a match for Carroll in the air.
This will also give us strength on the bench to bring on later if needed. Suarez, Carroll, Adam, Carra Shelvey/Maxi.

What do other Reds think of the line up- would you play a lone striker? If so- would it be Suarz/Carroll or Bellamy.

We play newcastle next not the goons , and you are already out of the running for top 4 !

Much Love

Well that's two draws then - we will be even closer in my opinion

06 Feb 2012 11:42:01
My team would be:

Kelly, Skrtel, Agger, Enrique

Carroll, Bellamy and Shelvey to come on later

This isn't going to happen of course so lets hope Adam and Johnson are up for it tonight.

Some team tactics to keep us amused
until kick-off - going to be a long day.
I'm going for 4-5-1. With either Carroll
or Suarez up front. Probably start Carroll
and bring in Suarez after 60.

Overall Formation: 4-5-1
Kelly and Johnson on Bale
Gerrard,Henderson and Spearing
on Modric and Parker:

---------------- Reina --------------
-----Kelly--Skrtel--Agger--Enrique
Johnson-------Spearing-------------
-----Gerrard--Henderson---Bellamy
------------------Suarez-------------

Defending: 5-3-1-1
Gerrard move diagonally in front of centerhalves,
Kelly/Johnson prevent Bale getting behind defense
Spearing attacks Bale if he cuts in. Gerrard covers:

---------------- Reina --------------
Johnson-Kelly--Skrtel--Agger--Enrique
-----Spearing---Gerrard--Henderson--
-----------------------------------Bellamy
------------Suarez------------------------

Attacking: 2-1-3-4
Breaking Gerrard attacks space behind
Bale in Right Midfield. Johnson joins on
right wing. Space opens up for Bellamy
left side. Kelly henderson and Enrique
all join attack from deep.
---------------- Reina --------------
----------Skrtel--Agger-------------
---------------Spearing-------------
----Kelly--------Henderson---Enrique
Johnson--Gerrard-Suarez-Bellamy
Possession: 4-3-2-1

With the crowd behind us, 2-0 Liverpool.

That means he make more mistake then people think ? why he shouldn't sent off , why no penalty is given penalty and penalty is not. he should say good bye to football.

CHRISTIAN POULSEN says he is unlikely to return to Liverpool FC once his loan spell at French side Evian expires at the end of the season.

The Danish midfielder left LFC after one largely unsuccessful season back in August, but is contracted with the Reds until the summer of 2013.

"Liverpool? It is over for me there," said Poulsen. "If I was a 25-year-old it could be different, but I will be 32 and I am not interested in being a number 20 player.

"Here, when I talk to a player, I know it could be helpful. I feel more important here."

I thought Poulsen got a pay out to move there permanently?

DP {Ed002's Note - Yes, and Liverpool are paying his wages less the small fee Evian paid to take him.}

Ed , are you ABSOLUTELY sure that Poulsen is on loan at Evian ? The original Sky article on Saturday that started all of this did not mention the word ' loan ' , neither did Poulsen , this article has now been copied by many sites including the Liverpool Echo , who have called it a loan.

The club websites do not show it as a loan , neither do any of the respected sites like TRANSFERMARKT or FOOTBALLSQUADS .

My understanding , confirmed by the club at the time , was that a small fee was agreed for the transfer of the the player , who then signed a one year contract .
{Ed001's Note - one year loan contract, you can't take Sky's word for it, they thought Bellamy was on loan to us, even though he has faced City and loanees can't play against their parent club!}

Ed would i be right in thinking that rule is only incorperated tif the permant club requests it?

Quigz23 {Ed002's Note - No, loanees cannot play against their parent club in accordance with M7.2 of the Premier League rules. The payment by Evian was to offset a small amount of Poulsen's wages - the rest are being paid by Liverpool. My understanding is that at the end of the season Poulsen will become a free agent with no further payment due by Liverpool.}

Cheers for clearing that up Ed...

Anyone see any easy points coming up any time soon? I don't, not even QPR or Wigan. Probably good that the derby has been shifted away from the middle of this run. At the end of it we should have an idea of how the season will finish- if we don't take max from those two and significant points off the teams around us, one thing will be sure- no champion's league next season.

Separately, Webb wasn't as biased as people make out yesterday- he was crap the whole game and possibly was making up for first half mistakes in the second. And why are so many of you so obsessed with Utd anyway? Trust me, I hate seeing Utd win as much as anyone- I can't even stand the thought of not beating them on FIFA 11, let alone losing! But some of the bile/ bilge been spouted on this site is shameful to Liverpool Football Club. Banter is good, pathetic vitriol is not.

Mrpjd

I bet Howard Webb was livid that the 4th Official only allowed 4 minutes extra instead of the usual 7 Manu Minutes. He was robbed of his first hat-trick.

This post appears to have been written by a non LFC fan trying to act like he/she is an LFC fan.

It gets worse when he/she sticks up for Webb.

Me thinks we have a ManU fan here??? :-)

The points I see.........
Draw v Spurs = 1
Win v ManU = 3
Win v Brighton = through to the next round
Win v Cardiff = first trophy of the season
Draw v Arsenal = 1
Win v Sunderland = 3
Win v QPR = 3
Win v Wigan = 3
Win v Newcastle = 3

As for your point about Webb. He is so blatantly a ManU fan. Overall he is a poor ref, but he a Slur Alex are obviously best-buds.

The only bile/bilge (as you call it) spouted on this site come from ManU fans that can't see to stay on their own page. They're obviously very worried about what we're doing. No debt. Squad re-building nicely. Final of one cup, still in another cup, only a few points off of 4th and a manager that is uniting the club once again.

They must be able to see how shocking it is that there 2 best players are one that has come out of retirement and one that should have retired last season, but he is still so far ahead of the rest of the Utd midfield they had to keep him on.

On top of that, when Slur Alex retires, I truly believe that will be the start of the decline.
You only have to look at the way the results tailed of when he announced he was going to retire before to see how much the players player for the manager.
Sure they will get a decent manager in, but it will never be the same.

There are no easy points in the Premier League anyway and to think there are is a bit arrogant, just look at the Bolton game the players thought it would be an easy 3 points and got turned over.

To be looking at fixtures in March is a bit forward, the next 4 games will define the season. To win both league games shows Liverpool can beat any team, the Brighton game obviously to progress in the cup, and finally we saw what became of Arsenal last season if you lose a cup final to the underdogs they fell from 2nd to just scrapping 4th.
For me personally to win the cup is the main priority and 4th in the league is the bonus, i know not everyone will agree but its been so long since Liverpool had a good cup run and to win one on the clubs first trip to new Wembley in the Kings first full season in charge would be fantastic.

I'd like to think Webb wasn't biased too but it just gets harder and harder to believe, its not just Liverpool fans that say it either. I agree some fans take it a bit far with the anti United thing but when you see the shameful biased media including Sky sometimes it seems just.

always a red

Not now, not ever a manc!

LFC since 1976- a lot longer than most of you I'll bet- just a liitle more considered in my opinion than the knee-jerkers I read here.

As for the person who responded with predictions, I would be fairly happy with thise results but only drawing at home to Spurs & Arsenal yet winning at Old Trafford? If we can win at OT we have no fear of the Londoners.

And the reason I stretched the fixture quote into March is to highlight the difficulty of the period we are entering.

Realism and objectivity do not equate to being a manc, nor do they preclude fervent support of a team for nearly 40 years!

Mrpjd

On the point of webb, arsenal dnt need batman they have robin, man u dnt need spiderman they have webb.
anyway we have come into some good form lately, we have a few hard fixtures coming our way so lfc been lfc and our record against the [so called] better teams its would be just fitting for us to win them.lets not slate anybody and all support the club we love, get behind our team and good things will come.after all we are lfc they biggest club YNWA.

Aaron Lennon not playing today, would that mean that Enrique is likely to switch to RB to handle Bale. I think Johnson would do well overall, but he is known to be lazy and distracted at times when he is tired.

Eds? {Ed002's Note - Why would Enrique move to RB and be played out of position?}

Carroll to play RB to cover Bale's height ;)

If at all we need to neutralise Bale, Kelly is the man, or even young Flanno. The other option is to increase tempo on both wings with an attacking threat which could be posed by Suarez and Bellamy so that Ekotto and Walker do not move forward forcing Bale and Lennon to cover up.

This reminds me of a green day song with the line in "I was only dreamin . . . dreamin!"

Ed0016. So Liverpool are on the up with Adam Henderson downing Carroll Kelly Flanagan sterling. And man Utd are on the decline with smalling jones cleverley rafael welbeck Hernandez pogba. I think ferguson will leave a great team for the next manager.
Djay

The point is both us are at the same point right now, But your team is degrading year by year in squad strength while we are moving up. Simply both of us are at same point of the circle right now just that we are moving in opposite directions. I thought Man Utd fans are bright enough to recognize this, but then again I did not realize u guys are this dumb. But great master piece of a post from u man! Just not good enough as u thought just like ur pathetic team who needs referees and favors to win (Oh sorry u did not win tonight)matches. I pity what happens to u guys when they stop favoring u.

What about ashley Young?

Both of us are at the same point! Ha ha best joke ever. Man Utd are a million miles ahead of Liverpool on the field and off it.
Djay

Simple fact is utd are better, liverpool have bought some good players but most aren't top 4 quality, both teams have an equal strength defence, with l'pool having the edge with a better keeper, but the difference in points is down to man utds midfield and striekrs being better and able to score/create more....

liverpool sign a couple players, forward to go with suarez and a right sided player, they will be pushing towards the top of the league again.

I like carroll but no point in having him if downing refuses to use his brain (stand the ball up for him, dont drill it across at chest height).

ToonFan

Not in the FA cup Bjay.

Both of us are at the same point! Ha ha best joke ever. Man Utd are a million miles ahead of Liverpool on the field and off it.
Djay.. out of the players u mentioned Welbeck only, and as for millions of miles apart, dont be silly, points ahead thats all, when we go to Old Scaffold and hammmer ye , ill think u'll understand then. Ferguson to retire before Scholes and Giggs!
JayB

Yeah off the field you are millions more in debt than us, still haven't won as many champions league titles as us, you only have 1 more league championship than us, as for total trophies in all competitions there is only 1 in it. out of the last 3 games between us its 2 wins and a draw in our favour - a million miles ahead my apse.....

ash240970

p.s. how many cup finals are you in this year so far?

Two one.

United players are no better than liverpool's - as individuals!
What makes the differense lies in a champion's spirit, and tactical knowledge on how to best the lesser teams. However, I believe KK is working hard to build a winning spirit in the team, and when this happens, and the players get used to each other (hopefully - next year), we will be level with Utd.

Drigan

Ooops, my mistake - as individuals most of our players are better than theirs.

Drigan

The 'Toon Fan' hit the nail on the head with his post.

United's front 6 wingers front men especially are just better than ours for now. If we can get the best out of out front 6 then things may change...
