Great result! First, don't think anyone has given credit to firminos goal. Fortuitous but great first touch and finish.

Also think benteke showed both sides today. Is clearly a gifted player but either doesn't work hard enough or doesn't suit our system.

Shame as can see a gifted player but can't see it working out. though winning with ten man and watching Man U lose with ten has made a very happy!

Benteke a plan B he came on and give place a horrible time . its about time people stop laying into are players. benteke has got got us 12 points with his winning goals.

07 Mar 2016 00:08:40
I agree Roland, how many one on ones did Benteke have a few matches ago and didn't score one - well done Firmino!

He has just been added to the Brazil squad as well - not sure I'm so happy about that!

07 Mar 2016 01:48:56
Benteke came on and provided a spark, created three chances and won and converted a pressure laden penalty. All credit to him for not sulking and getting it done. I also, applaud him for putting himself about, making the runs he's been slated for not making and earning the rewards. Bravo, Christian.

07 Mar 2016 06:00:14
just like Klopp said, if you're angry, show it on the pitch.

well taken penalty, and also earning the penalty in the first place.

06 Mar 2016 22:19:36
We are 6 points from 4th place and if we have any luck we could make it, there quite a few factors that come into it but its not out of the question heres one factor there's no team who are on a run of games and look unbeatable except for leicester, that's why they are on the top of the prem but all the teams under them are inconsistent including us but todays game against one of our bogey teams and the fact we won shows we can go on a run and just maybe we have luck on our side, now i'm not saying we will defo get 4th, so if we go on a run of winning a few games you just never know that what makes this season so exciting because there's not one team dominating.

I certainly think the wheels could fall off for city as they fall further behind in the title chase. they may turn their attention towards champs league.

07 Mar 2016 01:51:36
Arsenal are also in a bad way and are one bad result from spiraling out of control. That game in hand vs Everton will be key. We win that, then look out.

06 Mar 2016 21:28:48
Fantastic come back today. Didn't think the lads had it in them. And great peno by Big Ben it has to be said.
Bring on United on Thursday, I have my ticket. YNWA.

Benteke and Milner are easily our best penalty takers.

06 Mar 2016 20:14:17
Eds fellow reds. my view on the penalty. would of been harsh against us if it were other way . but if your going to ground in your box you run the risk of giving something . plus firminos yellow card was for same offence slid in to a tackle but court player with trailing leg . so if that's a yellow and free kick on the pitch must be the same outcome in the box . yet C P player didn't get a second yellow .

06 Mar 2016 20:39:23
He made contact and according to the rules it's a penalty and have to give credit to the ref for consulting his linesman before making the decision, it's these type of results we need no matter how poor the overall performance is or was we need every point available from here until the end of the season. A lot of scrappy games to come in the prem league and a lot more twists and turns its the most unpredictable season I can remember for the top 8 currently in the table makes for great entertainment I screamed the house down when Benteke put the penalty away my Mrs thought I had lost the plot! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜¬πŸ˜¬πŸ˜¬.

06 Mar 2016 20:12:44
Just reading the echo online and apparently this is the 1st time ever Liverpool have come from behind and win with 10 men, this is according to a statistician. I'm very surprised if this is true.

If I remember rightly in 2004 we came back from 2 down vs Fulham to win 4-2 and josemi was sent off? I remember alonso bossing it and also Igor Biscan getting a rare goal.

07 Mar 2016 01:53:28
I think I saw that game too, AH.

07 Mar 2016 02:18:21
Josemi was sent off when the game was 2-2. Today was the first time ever that we won a game when we had a player sent off while we were in a losing position.

07 Mar 2016 12:10:28

does any one know who the game in hand we have is against?

{Ed025's Note - the mighty everton..

06 Mar 2016 18:04:16
Against Everton at Anfield. Seeing how c**p their defense is, i expect to see us put at least 3 past them and an easy victory. Top4 still out of reach imo though. I do not see either Man City or Arsenal derailing when it will matter the most.

06 Mar 2016 18:08:47
thanks Ed, should win it then.
do you know when this is going to be played, just looked at the fixtures and no date for it.
Also what about the chelsea match that has been postponed as well, so could have fixture pile up at the end of the season.

{Ed025's Note - it will probably be when our seasons are over AT...so anytime after next week mate.. :)

06 Mar 2016 18:19:28
i don't think we will get top 4, very unlikely we will win all of our games for the rest of the season, but think 5th is achievable.
depending who we get after man u in the europa league we could have a good chance of getting to the final in that.

06 Mar 2016 18:52:43
should be plenty of goals then ed025, i'm still trying to work out how you lost to west ham tbh.

{Ed025's Note - me too KK, our defending has been comical at times this season and its happened on more than one occasion which is worrying, we have a very good squad i feel and we were hoping to be knocking on the top 4 door this season but the manager has made a lot of errors, i think him and rodgers were seperated at birth mate..

06 Mar 2016 19:16:41
I never understood how he got the job in the first place. Yes he won the cup but his team was relegated and it wasn't a bad team.

06 Mar 2016 20:34:16
Are mighty everton a Russian team?
Never heard of them!

{Ed025's Note - russian into the relegation battle if our defence has anything to do with it GK..if we had klipperty we would have won the league this season, because you lot are not doing too bad and none of your players would get in our side mate, well thats my theory anyway.. :)

06 Mar 2016 20:46:49
How are you guys so confident we will beat Everton?! We all know form goes right out the window when it comes to the merseyside derby!

06 Mar 2016 21:49:52
because Martinez is incompetent super even when everton are winning he finds a way to screw it up. Just ask ed025, the guys tatics are worse than his dancing. New investment should come with a new manager.

{Ed025's Note - sounds good to me KK,

06 Mar 2016 22:23:39
Win our game in hand and just 5 off 3rd, forget 4th .

06 Mar 2016 22:24:54
Martinez is a Liverpool agent Ed025. Is it not obvious? They had a meeting before he became Everton manager.

Maybe we should ask Ed033 to look into it?

{Ed025's Note - hes doing a bloody good job then hsf..

06 Mar 2016 17:40:58
That is a massive win. To come from behind, playing not so great, away at Palace (we all know how we struggle there), with 10 Men.
Credit to the lads and Klopp πŸ‘πŸΌ
I've been our biggest critic at times but that in my eyes is bigger than the City home game. Well done the boys.

06 Mar 2016 18:53:57
winning whilst not playing well is a skill we need to master, this victory tastes so sweet!

06 Mar 2016 19:16:56
it wanst really a skill though. it was just dumb luck today. I can't imagine how pardew must feel haha.

06 Mar 2016 19:30:50
Disagree. There's no dumb luck involved. We were not at our best and the red card was stupid BUT we were the better team after going down to ten men and finished strong, creating chances that should have ended the game for CP as they were poor in the second half. There's nothing lucky about that. That's just skill, determination and self belief. I would have taken the point but Klopp went with CB because he was trying to win the game and believed we could. Fortune only favors the brave. Again, nothing lucky about the win. We went for it, we got it. As for Pardew, the guy can kick rocks and get over his pathetic attitude and over inflated ego because he's just a poor manager with a mouth, like Warnock and Pulis.

06 Mar 2016 19:48:56
ye, we did better, mostly because after we equalised by a jammy goal with 10 men, pardew finally decided to actually attack, which is when we actually started to get some joy, but we weren't amazing by any stretch of the imagination, but we did only have 10 men. But that was also the reason pardew went full out attack.

06 Mar 2016 20:10:24
Dumb luck my arse! More shots on target, more possession and most importantly more goals. With a large chunk of the game with 10 men away from home. Great win.

06 Mar 2016 22:54:31
I should have said attribute not skill, can anybody truly say they did not enjoy that win, no matter how well we played? . We have played better and lost. Enjoy every victory.

06 Mar 2016 23:22:55
We were the better team over 96 minutes so if we win then it is deserved.

06 Mar 2016 17:04:23
People are not seriously debating if that was a penalty are they? Delaneys knee blatantly takes Bentekes trailing leg out. Anybody who is saying he's gone down easily has clearly never been clipped whilst running at any sort of pace. The slightest knock can throw your balance. Benteke had a 200lb man slam into his ankle!

I don't care what Collymore said on the radio. The guy is so critical of Liverpool because of his massive failure at the club that his opinion on our games is almost invalid. Plus he's about as clued up on the game as my 5 year old cousin.

Believable20 Unbelievable6

06 Mar 2016 17:15:33
He said, and the commentator said that " contact was minimal " :-/ but there was contact, right? So yes defo pen .

06 Mar 2016 17:19:02
Agreed. We deserved to win, finally we make our own luck.

If United had won like this, the so called pundits would be fawning.

06 Mar 2016 17:20:59
Off course it was. If you feel contact you go down. Its been like that for years whether you like it or not.

06 Mar 2016 18:11:43
200lb man slam into his ankle πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I think it was a pen but I think you were watching the UFC.

06 Mar 2016 19:39:00
The contact was minimal and may not have warranted a penalty BUT that's the way they call them these days as any contact in the box is now a penalty. We were the better team after the red card and deserved the three points after creating the better chances after the red card. klopps changes made the difference while Pardew himself said his changes didn't affect the game as he had hoped. The bloke got tactically schooled and out thought. Serves him right for his pathetic behavior in the reverse fixture at Anfield.

06 Mar 2016 20:32:43
Lets face facts, ANY player in that situation would have gone down, mimimal contact or not not, end of.

06 Mar 2016 23:25:36
Colly is a twonk. If we'd been playing anyone other than Palace, Villa or Forest then he would say 'penalty'.

It was a penalty and to be honest contact is not necessary. However, there was contact so it is a clear foul = penalty.

06 Mar 2016 23:36:30
I don't know that I'd have given the penalty if I were the ref, but it was a pretty dumb challenge to be making in the first place. Benteke was going nowhere and had no support- only one to blame really is Delaney for giving Mariner a decision to make in the first place.

07 Mar 2016 01:10:23
collymore is a vile human being who should be grateful he has a platform to spout his crap.

07 Mar 2016 01:57:34
MariΓ±er didn't give the penalty. His assistant did because he saw what the replays showed that Mariner couldn't see and it was the right decision. Move on.

06 Mar 2016 17:02:17
Interesting game - I thought Palace looked the more threatening at times while not doing much with it whilst we had more possession.

I thought Lovren and Can had good games; silly 2nd booking (and 1st) from Milner. Benteke infuriates by not getting in the box but still scored and should have done better from Lovren's corner flick on.

Given our recent results against Palace then I'm very happy with the result (we looked better with 10 men than 11)!

Believable6 Unbelievable7

06 Mar 2016 19:00:08
I thought lovren was brilliant today hoola he has improved no end since klopp arrived, can should be the driving force for me if Henderson is going to sit, btw those slagging of his captaincy credentials should look on how mature he was in sorting out who was going to take the penalty.

06 Mar 2016 19:41:55
The defence was outstanding today and Lovren was my pick for best player, right behind Can who is growing into his own. Bravo to all of them. Self belief may be getting into the team afterall.

06 Mar 2016 16:52:49
Very sorry to see Sean O Driscoll sacked.

06 Mar 2016 16:34:25
Hi all, didn't see the game. Hand on hearts, was it a penalty?

Believable9 Unbelievable5

{Ed023's Note - I think it was anyway}

06 Mar 2016 16:41:55
Yeh. definately a penalty. Benteke was fouled by the defender.
Great win today. We dug deep after Milner was sent off and fought hard for the win.
Can't ask for more than that.

06 Mar 2016 16:48:14
Man of the match Milner. Only joking great display lovren can and Migs made a great game so happy we one.

06 Mar 2016 16:48:42
If you squint it was a very generous penalty.

06 Mar 2016 16:52:09
Put it this way, if it was a Palace went down in the box the same way they would be looking it, I'm sure Pardew is raging more with Delaney for going to ground more than he is with Benteke, it was a pen!

06 Mar 2016 17:16:36
The best part about it is that Milner will now get a suspension ;-)

06 Mar 2016 18:27:02
Deffo a pen. Break it down - tripped? Yup, not intentional but a rrip and that counts. Get the ball. No. Reckless, careless or excessive force? Careless for sure.

So all in all its a direct free kick and therefore a pen inside the box accoeding to the rules.

The only debate is whether there was contact. clearly there was and luckily for us the linesman saw it.

Whether it's "enough" contact is a hopeless argument.

06 Mar 2016 19:45:15
Spot on, Faith. We can debate the degree of contact till we're blue in the face but bottom line is that, this is the way the refs are calling it now and if CP had the same situation, they would b lobbying for it too. We were the better team and deserved it. That is a fact regardless of the penalty or not.

06 Mar 2016 20:34:51
Cheers All, delighted with the result. Fifth is on, let's see about fourth :)

06 Mar 2016 14:59:09

Thanks in advance.

Believable0 Unbelievable6

06 Mar 2016 16:47:33
Im going to boil it down to we play well against lazy teams where our workrate shines through any quality the other team might have. Against hardworking teams, especially those who set up defensively we never look like scoring, because we lack quality. And because we don't set up defensivly, we leak goals against quality opposition who match our workrate because the best form of defence is a good offence and our offence is rubbish.

06 Mar 2016 16:58:43
I wouldn't disagree with that Ryan, we lack quality! Mahrez, Kroos and Jordi Alba would be just nice this summer BUT dream in Sugar lol.

06 Mar 2016 19:01:57
we are suffering from inconsistey which klopp is working hard to sort out 3 wins on the spin is a good way to start.

06 Mar 2016 19:39:05
kingkenny, my comment explains why we are inconsistant. And from what klopp has done so far with his team selections, I see no sign of it stopping. perhaps when he see's the error of his ways as well as get some decent players in, will we start to be consistant. I really don't think we will get top 4. we might go on a little run if we're lucky like today but once we face a decent team, we will crumble once again.

Its the reason manu have beat us all season. they shut up shop and try and take their chances. manu struggle against teams who have their same gameplan. manu then open themselves up by attacking because they don't want to settle for a point like the other team. Its why with rafa we struggled against the lower teams, yet found it easy to beat the big teams, as we set up defensively, yet had the quality to destroy teams on the counter.

06 Mar 2016 22:07:20
I think it is very simple. We are Liverpool, still one of the biggest names in football. The teams that play against us have two main options, try to play their football, or set up to defend and play on the counter.

When teams come out to play we have the space our current group of players require to score goals. Take Man City for an example, they always try to play football against us hence why we tend to score goals. The League Cup Final game, it was obvious from the start city were set up to defend and score on the counter, and we all know how that worked out.

It is easier to play on the counter, it can take a lot out of you but if you're smart and use your chances you can use the space on the counter to great effect. That is what the so called smaller teams do to us, man u are among those teams under Van Gaal, set up to stop us playing as the main priority which is why we struggled.

It is not a lack of consistency, the team doesn't just become worse one game then good the next game. Lack of space makes it harder to play and so harder to score and create chances. We sometimes get outfought which is a bad sign, but can happen on the day to any team.

What the team lack is a player of quality who has just the right movement or quality to find the space or pick the perfect pass (and it has to be perfect pass) to score in such a scenario. What you also require is a good base in defence so when the eventual counter occurs you can see it out without conceding.

We have good players but not world class players. It is something I believe Klopp can change.

It is also important to note the complete lack of goals from corners and set pieces, bar the one Coutinho goal and the Skrtel header. That is because of a total lack of quality of delivery, we do not have a good free kick taker in the team (don't get me started on Milner taking all the corners) . When a team defends well you need a set piece, or like today a penalty to get through.

This is my view on our current consistency problems.

{Ed025's Note - good post that reus..

07 Mar 2016 00:36:42
spot on reus, oh and wiseryan the only reason we last lost to man utd was they had the better goalkeeper, as another poster has said, our fitness levels are improving under klopp. Also klopp is having to work out what our best team is in the middle of a packed fixture list.

07 Mar 2016 02:00:43
Spot on, Marco. I've seen you play at BVB and you are awesome. Didn't know you were an LFC fan.

06 Mar 2016 16:15:36
Where are those people who were discrediting Klopp's training methods? The team looks fit; even with ten men we ran around more than Crystal Palace. Look at the extra time of the League Cup final, the lads were everywhere. The training of Klopp will convert this young players into Qualified men. We should always yearn to run more than the opposition. YNWA.

Pardew has always been a sore loser.
Obviously miffed that we beat them with 10 men.

06 Mar 2016 17:01:27
He's always had a short fuse, I thought he was going to pop aswell but I'm not sure he can afford anymore high profile mistermenors.

06 Mar 2016 17:21:29
We paid him back in full, haha I am happy.

06 Mar 2016 19:48:31
The guy is very rude, petulant and snarky and got exactly what he deserved after his disgraceful conduct in the Anfield game.

06 Mar 2016 15:51:23
Would like to see people's opinions on video technology?
Personally I think that incident involving benteke is for me, evidence against it. People have seen it over and over, and whilst there's no doubt there is contact, some say it's enough others say no. You could say all contact is a pen, but then of two players are running side by side, there's always going to be contact, for me the issue is, has the player been impeded.
Same with offsides, some I've seen on tv, where it's so close and perhaps nose breaks the line (which is technically offside) but there's no conclusive proof which decision is correct. How can a game which is supposed to be free flowing be stopped for minutes at a time to review these tough decisions. It works in rugby, tennis, cricket, because there's lots of breaks in play. Football isn't the same, and while I think goal line technology is great, I don't see a place for a video referral system.

Believable3 Unbelievable6

06 Mar 2016 16:09:44
maybe a challenge system like they use in the nfl there challenges take barely a minute and thre decisions can go to nfl head quarters for the final say maybe 1 challenge per half per team so flow isn't interupted too much and a penalty scheme if a manager challenges so his team get a minutes break take a substitution off em it seems to work in the nfl as long as there was a set limit on challenges it could work my idea is probably pie in the sky but its only a suggestion maybe a panel of 3 ex refs or a ex ref a manager a player deciding what the decision is multiple replay angles slow motion similar to the nfl challenges or a replay booth for the referee to use at the pitch side another option i'd rather a panel of 3 decided common sense should prevail with 3 deciding.

06 Mar 2016 16:10:08
It'll destroy the game mate it's a ridiculous idea to think it could work.

06 Mar 2016 16:12:39
Shouldn't take minutes at a time unless it's a very very difficult one.

06 Mar 2016 16:23:55
Why is it so ridiculous? We need it, and most pundits even beyond skysports would argue that it was indeed a penalty and a stupid decision from the defender.

06 Mar 2016 16:28:36
your probably right chris my suggestion was only feasible idea i could come up with but there is only usually 1 incident a game it would hardly ruin the flow its not something i'd like to see but imagine losing the league title to a dodgy penalty i'm sure their would be a hell of a lot of people screaming out for a review system then.

06 Mar 2016 16:29:18
It's ridiculous because it'll destroy the game and I haven't seen it yet but radio commentators I've heard are all saying obvious dive.

{Ed023's Note - He was caught in my opinion, these fellas who have never played the game don't factor in he's running and the slight contact can knock you off balance - shocking defending from Delaney to go to ground}

06 Mar 2016 16:33:31
and mikey i was saying a minute as a worst case scenario i'd be very suprised if any actually lasted that long but 2 minutes per half with a challenge system wouldn't ruin the flow that much i can't see it ever happening unless it happened to real madrid or Barcelona costing them a title could be enough of a outcry then i'd personally wouldn't mind 1 minute per half if it meant we wasnt getting screwed on a ridiculous penalty decision.

06 Mar 2016 16:36:06
It was a foul in my opinion. On the note of referral, if say a player goes down in the box, nothing given, and then the team counter attack and score, without the ball going out of play? When can you challenge? When the ball goes out, could be minutes later? At the time? Well teams could just challenge an easy decision to stop the team counter attacking. It wouldn't work.

{Ed001's Note - why does play have to stop for the replay to be looked at? Just call it back like they do when a lino spots something the ref missed.}

06 Mar 2016 16:39:35
Why can't the 4th official have a monitor, or someone else, with the ref having an ear piece, it should mostly be easier for the guy with the monitor to advise the ref, with little delay.

06 Mar 2016 17:38:33
4th official has a monitor. Views the video evidence. Buzzes in the earpiece in the referees ear. Simple.

How hard is that to understand?

06 Mar 2016 17:51:05
if you look at a average penalty decision once its been awarded there is usually a minimum of 1 minute wasted with the team conceding the penalty arguing and carrying on with the referee for at least a minute surely that minute would be better spent actually finding out if it truly was a penalty or not the closest thing i can try compare is the nfl if they seea dubious decision they have a challenge flag they throw once thrown it goes to the referee or nfl head quarters for the chief of officiating to rule on like i said 1 challenge per half should be fine maybe no challenges in the last 5 minutes and injury time and if a manager is throwing to deliberatley get a break for his team he loses a substitution if he used all 3 he loses 1 for the next game i really think it could work if applied right would stop the was it or was it not there's only usually 1 incident a game and limit what the challenge can be used for say penalties red and yellow cards should suffice.

06 Mar 2016 18:14:19
Ed001, that would be preferable if it happened, but if it was a challenge, how could you ask them ref to have a look without stopping the game? Or do you mean the video ref just watched all decisions and tells the ref?

{Ed001's Note - yes, the video ref just acts as an extra official and has a word in the ref's ear via his earpiece. Then he can ignore it or take notice as he chooses.}

06 Mar 2016 18:36:08
It would be a really difficult one to get right and there will probably be no perfect solution. E. g., it would be great to get offside calls right but how do we have a rule that allows the ref to play on in a situation when a player is incorrectly flagged offside when he could have been theough 1v1? Maybe just let all offsides be adjudicated via another ref watching on replay screens? Mighr be the best way.

Anyways, the point is to remove subjecticity. In an instant the ref needs to decide based on what he sees, and for a situation when he cannot see it is human for him to bu subjective to form an opinion.

06 Mar 2016 20:41:21
Just because it's not perfect Faith doesn't mean it's not worth it. There are hundreds of wrong decisions every season that would be corrected. We could remove blaming refs from the occasion which is the most tedious thing in football.

On target for 74 points.

I'm still believing.

Could do with a performance from West Brom today.

06 Mar 2016 16:11:56
Here's to them sticking 11 behind Ball and berahino scoring in the 89th minute.

06 Mar 2016 16:36:31
Maybe stick 10 behind the ball now Matas gone.

06 Mar 2016 17:52:10

6 points off fourth and 8 points off 3rd. Hell of a lot of football left to play.

It's squeaky bum time but we are serious contenders for top 4. I don't think we will get such a chance. No team are doing great or very consistent (apart from Leicester) .

We may not do it but as a fan all I want is a bit of hope and optimism. Let's go for this Reds.

Europa and top 4 here we come.

We win our next two league games and we are indeed in the hunt for the top 4.

06 Mar 2016 15:30:00
What's the saying, it's better to be lucky than good? Well we definitely rode our luck - a goalkeeping mistake and a contentious penalty. Having said all of that I thought our effort and work rate, despite going down to 10 men, was absolutely top drawer. We maintained both our concentration and work ethic for the entire game and in fact, with 10 men, we looked the more likely to snatch a result. I thought there were a number of good performers - Emre Can seemed to be everywhere, I thought he had an excellent game. Lovren was also faultless at the back. Clearly a far from perfect performance but, as results go, I'd take 2-1 away to Palace any season, especially as they have been a bogey team for us in recent seasons.

We've had enough of our own GK mistakes, about time we benefitted from someone else's ;-)

06 Mar 2016 16:57:56
Fluke win again after a drab performance. Sometimes feel for opposition but I guess these things even out over a season.

Cheers.

06 Mar 2016 18:46:07
@samikewell - I thought we were ok before the red card and excellent after it. On the balance of play following it we were good for the win and I think the effort the players showed was a real positive. On paper it looks like a smash and grab but we had some big moments and the effort, not to mention fitness, of the players was rewarded.

06 Mar 2016 18:44:41
@johnnyr1970 - that's exactly what I said to my mate!

06 Mar 2016 15:26:03
Ha ha that was hilarious. We we're better with 10 than 11. Don't think we devserved that though. Great I'll take it all day long. B.

he did what he had to do he converted a last minute penalty, credit where its due.

06 Mar 2016 12:52:44
Same team as city, except Moreno in for clyne, and sakho for toure. These types of games will decide the future of the likes of Milner and lallana more so for me, it's all well and good playing well against city or Chelsea 4 times a season, but these are the games they need to create and score chances.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

06 Mar 2016 14:50:30
Think Milner may have just decided his own future there.

06 Mar 2016 15:01:17
On top of Milner and lallana as u say
It's the same Liverpool who only play well against the so called bigger better top four teams

Nobody seriously predicted a Liverpool win here so it's March 2016 are we really still surprised by these results.

06 Mar 2016 16:05:41
football is simple. some players are just not good enough. players improve, but milner and lallana should be at their peak which they are, but still very average. its ok to have a couple of hardworking players like them in our team if the rest of the team was quality. can and hendo have been dissapointing, but these guys work hard and will improve. everyone else in front of them need to be pure quality. we can't afford lallana and milner if we want to compete against the best. right now the only proven players that should be playing ahead of hendo/ can are, sturridge, origi, ibe, continho, firmino, allen. these guys all offer a threat of some sort. some are similar to each other so that's why its important to choose the right balance and keep your opponents on their toes. i'm not saying these guys are world beaters, but they're the best we have at scoring some goals.

When the other team works as hard as we do, workrate alone won't have any effect if they don't have enough quality to back it up.

06 Mar 2016 12:27:07
Can somebody please explain who gets the Europa league places this season?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

06 Mar 2016 12:37:19
5th in premier
FA cup winners
League cup winners.

If any of above have already qualified for Europe then it goes to 6th, 7th in premier.

If a team wins the Champions League but doesn't finish in the top 4 then I think 4th place gets a Europa league place.

06 Mar 2016 12:50:48
City will probably get top 5, so 6th will probably get Europa. Wouldn't mind finishing outside the, to be honest.

06 Mar 2016 13:06:28
Why? From the last 20 years my best memories have come from European nights whether it's the CL or EL. I hate comments like I hope we don't make Europe.

06 Mar 2016 14:54:22
I understand the feeling of not being in europa league. Trouble is the money involved. Personally I think it's been a problem this season.

06 Mar 2016 15:26:47
Thanks everyone! πŸ‘.

06 Mar 2016 15:38:54
who gets the champions league space if the europa cup winners are in there leagues automatic champ leagues places the runner up or a extra spot for the winners league.

06 Mar 2016 16:26:48
Would love United to come 4th, only for ourselves to win Europa and knock them off.

06 Mar 2016 17:55:18

who gets the champions league space if the europa cup winners are in there leagues automatic champ leagues places the runner up or a extra spot for the winners league.

With you both all the way.

Prediction: Palace 1-3 Liverpool (Sturtidge hat-trick)

Need a few from DS today if I'm going to win my bet of him getting 20 league goals. 😎.

06 Mar 2016 12:37:38
Hopefully 0-3 Ron, I love a clean sheet, Lallana, Studge and Couts πŸ‘.

06 Mar 2016 12:50:03
Studge and couts will have to do it from the bench then.

06 Mar 2016 12:51:27
Sturridge or coutinho aren't starting, maybe a late flourish?

06 Mar 2016 13:02:03
Glad to see origi start over me I can do it all.

{Ed001's Note - what is with this crap? You have a real attitude problem regarding our best player.}

06 Mar 2016 13:03:18
Yeah just noticed that they aren't starting lol I don't mind who scores the 3 goals then ☺️.

05 Mar 2016 21:02:21
i have a question for ed002 if he is around. this paneuropean league that has been mentioned more and more. are there any names of the clubs involved in discussion and is liverpool part of those meetings and is liverpool supportive on that matter. thanks in advance.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - In terms of the clubs that have been meeting and siscussing various issues between themselves for a number of years, Luverpool are not involved. In terms of thw discussions that took place in London recently regarding one of the alternate proposals, Liverpool were involved. Liverpool will still be trying to understand fully implications Although they have yet to flesh out the detail and there is now a major concern that the impetus for this is not coming from Europe, one major Football Association has given their support and discussions have also been held with the leading clubs from England (Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal). The American backer, Stephen Ross of the Miami Dolphins, has requested a meeting with an extant group of sides considering the pan-European breakaway to discuss his proposals. They have yet to respond but having identified the source of much of the funding (and that raising a concern) will wish to discuss it between themselves first. However, UEFA are also considering another proposal.}

06 Mar 2016 15:47:58
Ed002 what's steven ross involved for i'm pretty sure he only has owner interests in the dolphins and no connection to any football clubs. i'm sure he'd be more than welcome as a potential lfc owner he's not afraid to put his hand in his pocket he just needs to stay away from employing managers if the dolphins last manager was soley his hire is it a money making venture for him or potentially a avenue to possibly own a european football team.

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with Liverpool ownership and he won't have thought twice about that. It is to do with money from elsewhere and exploitation. The collective of clubs who have been discussing a breakaway will need some convincing.}

06 Mar 2016 18:03:23
Ed002 i know it has nothing to do with lfc ownership i said in jest i was just curious how steven ross was involved if he's been asked to try some convincing over it or it was a financial opportunity if it was kronke or lerner i could see a connection ross seems to be left field he's a good choice to do the convincing self made man hard to disagree with a guy who made 7 billion through his own blood sweat and tears. Out of curiosity which of the 2 breakaway league options do you think will be the preferred of the elite and which do you think is the better option of the 2 possible that you have explained so far.

{Ed002's Note - No one has aked him to do it, ity is an initiative from him with financial backing from elsewhere that gets some support from UEFA as it saves their butts. It is one of three options out there, two of which UEFA would be happy with and one, the preferred options from the clubs that have been pondering it for years. The one discussed by the clubs is the one that will eventually happen - even if clubs are forced in to a half way solution for a few years.}
