I was at the game today. First game I've managed to be able to go to in a few seasons.

What a game to go to though! Thought we might have kept that clean sheet but oh well. We just switched off and stopped playing at 5-0 which is understandable but quite annoying.

Thoroughly enjoyed the game though, can't wait to get back in the Kop again!

Great team performance today and nice to go top before the International break but was quite disappointed at how quiet our support was today, credit where it's due - the Watford fans were superb.

07 Nov 2016 06:50:19
Great performance and not wanting to sound negative, but when hendo (who's been great) stepped in to provide cover for Can, it was clear he should have covered the runner and not the man with the ball. I was so wanting a clean sheet. I know a solid win is great, but there's just something about a clean sheet giving confidence to the back line that I think we really need.

08 Nov 2016 01:03:31
I agree hendo got sucked in and left the space on the edge of the box. But he is still learning and I think the defensive side of his game is already better than Gerrard was in the holding role. Hopefully hendo will learn from that and I'm glad he made the mistake in a game already won. He will learn and get better. I can see Henderson finally getting the recognition he deserves. I see hendo, holding the prem in my head right now.

Just watching all the Torres goals again on lfc tv. Unbelievable how a player can go from being arguably the best striker in the world at Liverpool to then finding it so hard at Chelsea.

Believable9 Unbelievable0

06 Nov 2016 23:32:22
His last season at Liverpool was not that great. With injuries and I'd say his head been turned by Chelsea and the lure of champs. League football.
I think he thought the team at that moment was not improving.
He was given assurances by the club that never materialised as Hicks and Gillette nearly bankrupted the club

If he waited he would have been partnering Suarez and along with Stevie G. I think they would have been awesome.

07 Nov 2016 03:19:06
The $ for suarez comes from torres sale so no way he be partnering suarez.

07 Nov 2016 06:05:21
Wrong again leek. Embarrassing.

07 Nov 2016 08:12:16
Suarez was bought when Fenway took over the club.
Stevie G begged Torres to give it another year. King Kenny was put in charge.
I for one wish Torres had stayed.

06 Nov 2016 21:24:16
I think Brazil are away to Peru on the Wednesday before our Saturday game at Southampton. I honestly can't see Coutinho and Firmino being ready to play for us after such a long flight home.
Thankfully we've got strength in depth now. but they would certainly be missed.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

06 Nov 2016 21:39:37
It depends on how much they play during the break. Coutinho will likely start both games for Brazil, so maybe he start from the bench at Southampton, while Firmino is likely only to be a sub for Brazil, so he starts IMO. Perhaps a chance for Sturridge to start if Coutinho is rested.

06 Nov 2016 21:48:46
Them first class flights are a nightmare.

07 Nov 2016 07:25:54
Suggesting we rely on Sturridge following an international 'break' is reckless talk AG.

07 Nov 2016 11:13:52
In fairness on my flight they were business class I'm not sure about the long haul to Brazil. But they got a private jet back last time with some city players if I'm right which might be done again? Not sure.

06 Nov 2016 21:21:24
Another great win and another superb performance. Top of the league for the first time since May 2014. One thing that impresses me most though, is how grounded both the players and the fans are. Like yes we are top of the league, but that we are not getting carried away with that fact. I don't know if it is because we have learned the mistakes from 2014, or if it is the leadership of Klopp that has a calming but assured confidence to our game. One thing when we were in the title race in 2014 was, I felt it was more of a "i hope we can keep this going", rather than a genuine belief we were going to win, it was more down to Suarez if he was on form or not. It is a totally different feeling this time round, maybe because it is the entire team, rather than any 1 individual who is driving us forward, although Coutinho is just amazing.

But I know whenever we go out into a game, i feel like we are going to win, and win by some margin. I think it is vitally important though not to think of winning titles, but just to enjoy where we are at, it is a nice change to be winning all the time and winning by playing outstanding football. Great weekend for us. YNWA.

Believable11 Unbelievable0

06 Nov 2016 21:40:46
2009 and 2014 surely has taught to be grounded and take it a game at a time.

06 Nov 2016 22:35:54
keep calm and carry on winning! should be the mantra, as I have posted more than once this season, take it one game at a time, respect but don't fear the opposition and more importantly become a believer, this could be a special season, however nothing is decided in November as nice as it is to be top of the table, we have achieved nothing yet.

06 Nov 2016 23:37:25
A great win and overall the performance was goox but Watford failed to take any of their chances. A better team would have punished us.
Another borefest of an international break now.
I hope we don't pick up injuries.

07 Nov 2016 02:14:02
watfords' chances? how many were there? 2? what if we had taken all of ours? it would have 17-2. Ridiculous to look at this game like that.

07 Nov 2016 02:52:51
granted karius was called into action more than once, but we could have easily scored 12 goals ourselves, we should have scored at least 4 goals, before we scored our 1st, our attacking display was breathtaking, once we have a settled backline i'm confident we will improve in that area, matip has been very consistent for us we need to find a consistent partner for him, I thought lucas played well and was gutted for him when he did not score.

07 Nov 2016 05:33:38
Only one point ahead of Chelsea so we need to stay clear of the title talk because it could come back to haunt us. Just enjoy what we see week in week out orchestrated by Klopp. The club and players are in a good place and do not need unnecessary pressure from the fans especially when the media is trying to milk as much attention from the club's performances.

07 Nov 2016 08:20:30
100% agree with AG. We need to keep a lid on our expectations.

06 Nov 2016 21:14:33
Granted it was against tired demoralised legs but ejaria showed some lovely touches when he came on including a backheal in the build up to to the final goal.

06 Nov 2016 22:07:38
Yeah the lad, as man of the other youngsters look really promising.

07 Nov 2016 09:55:24
yeah i agree, he is an exciting prospect.

06 Nov 2016 20:44:36
Best wishes to Robin Van Persie, who has suffered the permanent loss of sight in one eye after an horrific football injury.

No matter who he played for, nobody wants anything like that to happen. In his prime he was an outstanding player.

Believable19 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - agreed, poor bugger doesn't deserve that.}

06 Nov 2016 20:54:09
Fenerbahce club doctor has said he's torn his eyelid and he has not sustained any damage to his vision.

06 Nov 2016 20:59:43
Happened to Momo Sissoko 😟.

06 Nov 2016 21:08:15
Hope it's true that he will not lose any vision. I was posting from Facebook link that said he would not see out of the eye again. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

06 Nov 2016 20:51:34
Poor bugger. That's awful. How did it happen?

06 Nov 2016 21:15:19
Ohh God! That's terrible news. Hope he recovers soon.

{Ed001's Note - turns out he hasn't lost his sight, or at least his club are now denying it. Some shocking scenes though as he was left stranded for about 20 minutes as the ambulance driver had apparently lost his keys! Sometimes the news reports filtering through seem utterly unbelievable.}

06 Nov 2016 22:09:22
Let's hope his vision is ok, not nice that at all, no matter what.

07 Nov 2016 09:20:05
That has me in serious laughter. There's nothing funny about van persie's injury but the ambulance driver losing his keys whilst someone needs medical attention is something else.

06 Nov 2016 20:32:05

Believable8 Unbelievable0

06 Nov 2016 20:17:38
Ed01 or 02 do you think it would be possible to get payet from west ham if we lose coutinho? quality like for like player? Have we showed any interest recently? I know we looked at him when he was back in France when comolli was with us?

Believable0 Unbelievable10

{Ed001's Note - no.}

06 Nov 2016 23:28:20
Why he is too old imho for what he would cost and also if I remember has attitude problems. He might be OK af westham where he isn't under much pressure and is the big fish but the pressure and not being the top player at the club could bring it back.

07 Nov 2016 01:33:44
Why would we want him? When we have Ojo, come on.

07 Nov 2016 05:36:00
Nearly 31 years old. Too old for my liking and he simply does not have the work rate that Klopp would demand. I believe Coutinho will stay beyond this season once the club offers him a mega deal but in case he does leave, I can see someone like Dahoud being his replacement with Lallana being pushed up front with Mane and Firmino.

07 Nov 2016 07:47:24
Lallana up front again? Diasaster.

06 Nov 2016 20:10:28
Shifting Firmino to wide when Mane is off is a terrible idea. Mane relies on Pace and is an actual winger while Firmino is a completely different player who is the focal point for all the three behind him.
I guess that's exactly the reason Klopp is in search of a Winger ( Pace and trickery ) to play on the wings.
There is no place for sturridge while Ojo is out injured and Origi could be looked up on.
But none of them are anyway close to what Mane does and brings to the team.

I agree on squad depth but you can't play Robbie keane on the flanks anymore. That's stupidity.

Believable6 Unbelievable6

06 Nov 2016 20:44:25
Agree with you that Firmino should stay through the middle. Disagree that we don't have a replacement for Mane. For me it is hands down Origi. He has the pace, power and goalscoring exploits to perform the same role and is equally direct. He is probably slightly less creative, but has superior hold up play. If not Sturridge could arguably slot in too.

I wouldn't sign someone to replace a guy who is only gone for 3 or 4 weeks. If all else fails surely Wilson, Woodburn, Ejaria or Ojo (if he recovers) deserve a chance!

06 Nov 2016 21:05:39
MK

Origi and Sturridge on the right is similar to Walcott playing on the right. Pace and that's it or Marcus Rashford ( again pace and power ) . Let's not be Brendan and play anyone at any place just because they have pace.
And Boy Sturridge out wide is dreadful and he is never going to take on his man something Mane does on a consistent basis. Mane hits the byline which is what an actual winger does on the flanks.

Ojo could do a job but only if the kid is fit enough. Rest all are possibles, none anywhere close to what Mane gives us on the flank.

06 Nov 2016 21:44:34
I would put Firmino out wide when Mane leaves and put Sturridge through the middle. Firmino is intelligent enough and tracks back more than either Origi or Sturridge when played out wide too while Sturridge and Origi are way better off through the middle.

Why do you need Mane to be replaced by pacey player when he is away? If you are intelligent like Firmino, I see no issue with him dropping in there.

07 Nov 2016 00:14:56
Did you watch the game? Frimino and Mane constantly changed places - also did you see Frimino's pace for the 5th goal?

07 Nov 2016 00:43:15
Firmino played well out wide a few games back, pace on the wing isn't everything as Coutinho has proved and Firmino is as dangerous as Mane from out wide due to his ability to creat for others like Mane's second goal and Sturridges shot against the post. I'd also be comfortable seeing Origi or Ojo there too, no need to bring in another player.

Having said that, I do agree with the view we don't have a pure outright winger besides Mane with first team experience, by Ojo (or Kent or Wilson) should be given the chance to develop as we have enough solutions to back up Mane for the odd game here or there until they do.

07 Nov 2016 01:08:38
Though Mane is obviously a loss, for me there's no reason why Sturridge or Origi couldn't slot into his position. None of them ever stay in one position. Firmino always pops up wide and Mane through the centre. That wouldn't change.
Both are playing well when they do get minutes. Studge was brilliant today when he came on. I'm convinced there's no one better we could get in January.

PS. you don't sign players to cover 4 game absences anyway.

07 Nov 2016 03:03:25
well said joe, we have plenty of cover, sturridge could have had a hat-trick, 30 goals scored and none from sturridge or origi, both players will be eager to change that statistic, both know the system we play, the days of panic buying should be well and truly over.

06 Nov 2016 09:34:39
Sturidge again showed tonight he has no work ethic and plays for himself and not Team.
I'd play Origi ahead of him every time,

07 Nov 2016 10:58:40
Mane does not rely on just pace, front 3 never sit still enuf, Klopp/ team have a plan to replace Mane.

06 Nov 2016 19:56:38
Lots of praise for the likes of Couthino, Bobby etc etc. And rightly so.

I actually thought Matip had a really good game, first to nearly everything and he reads the game exceptionally well.

Brilliant all round performance by the team, including young Ejaria when he came on, some nice touches around the box.

They are joining up with the Brazil national team via France.

07 Nov 2016 03:31:46
Could be double swoop by PSG u noe.

07 Nov 2016 11:18:12
5 disagrees ha ha ha what can I say. They were on the flight in business one day behind the other and I then saw them at another security point before they were marshalled to their flight. They were pretty much left alone except for me and one other lad for a photo.

{Ed001's Note - I haven't seen it yet. Got dragged out in the early hours after we realised at the last second the trip we had paid for thinking it was next weekend was actually for today! It would have been a really crap trip as well, but for the score. Thank you Mr Klopp for making this, despite a terrible day out, a great weekend. I couldn't stop grinning.}

02 Nov 2016 04:45:21
Qs. for ed 041, if you r around. i quite like your opinion about hendo. bt how do u rate coutinho. for u what is his ranking in current epl players?

Believable2 Unbelievable2

{Ed041's Note - awesome player and improving every season.
without him Liverpool don't look nearly as good

06 Nov 2016 19:05:30
I honestly don't get where Ed41 is coming not rating hendo, he has been one of our top performers this season he had his injury problems last season but is looking like the player he was 2 years ago when we ran city close.

06 Nov 2016 18:05:57
The lil magician is an accurate description, he's outstanding there's no doubt about that, each to their own ed41 mate but I have to disagree in regards to we don't look nearly as good without him, we have quite a few other players able to score goals / create chances every other game, Mane, Firmino, Sturridge, Origi, Lallana not to mention Can, Hendo, Milner and Wijnaldum (Who I believe is improving as he goes on) Countinho brings so much, but we still have a ton more talent in the team who can win us games.

Firmino is probably my favourite Liverpool player, I don't like to pick favourites right now because the whole team is on incredible form. But Firmino is up there big time.

{Ed041's Note - decent players but Couts for me just gets you buzzing attacking wise

06 Nov 2016 20:49:17
For every bit of magic he does the next simple pass he gives the ball away. Granted he's an exceptional player but if he's aiming to play for Barcelona he needs to keep hold of the ball better.

06 Nov 2016 23:47:16
Couts. Is improving with each game but so is the whole team. They believe in the managers method and mentality that all the players are equally important and that the team unit comes before any individual.

Conte is doing the same at Chelsea and the difference in Hazard is amazing.
He looked world class against Everton.

06 Nov 2016 17:07:12
Another superb performance by us today. We dismantled Watford limb by limb. Firmino was brilliant, his link up play is so intelligent and again he gets his goal and an assist. Special mention to Karius who unfortunately didn't get his clean sheet but made 3 very good saves. A solid performance which only boosts his confidence. Thought Sturridge was excellent when he came on and was unlucky not to score.

Believable10 Unbelievable0

06 Nov 2016 19:02:35
Thought we were fantastic today, but have to disagree about sturridge. He looked dangerous to score but doesn't contribute what are other forwards do. His movement isn't as good or frequent and think he takes a lot off of our teams defensive ability when he plays. Plus, doesn't put himself into challenges and needs to improve his weak foot. Hopefully this will improve as the season goes on, as he is one of our most talented players.

06 Nov 2016 21:46:44
Firmino has two assists from today's match like Lallana. He set up Coutinho's goal and Mane's second. Lallana set up Firmino's goal and Can's.

06 Nov 2016 16:52:44
What a game that was. Must admit I thought it was going to be one of those days after the first 15 minutes but I'm glad to be proven wrong. Feel for Studge though the lad could of had four. It's not going for him at the moment but hopefully that will change soon. YNWA.

Believable13 Unbelievable1

06 Nov 2016 20:42:28
The delicate and sulky flower that is Sturridge is best suited to sitting behind the top two (Klopp and his assistant! ) . he's a very good player and handy to bring on with 30 mins to go if you need to change things but, honestly, he's behind Origi at the moment in my opinion and he's carrying an aura of petulance which is becoming boring.
His wafer-thin constitution and current form won't neccesarily make him unattractive in the market and I can think of a host of English clubs who'd snap him up gladly.
Time to sell? Absolutely. With Danny Ings out of the reckoning and nobody quite ready from the reserves I'd love to see us cash in on Daniel Sturridge and bring in an Aubamayang-type player more suited to Klipperty's style and less fragile.

{Ed001's Note - Aubameyang is far more sulky than Studger.}

06 Nov 2016 21:54:26
Out of interest, If aubameyang is a better fit for the squad, would you turn an blind eye to his attitude?

{Ed001's Note - it is not up to me, it is whether Klopp thinks he can make it work with him or not.}

07 Nov 2016 00:40:25
ANFIELDPETE I agree Studge looks to be sulking at the moment but I think he's also low on confidence due to spending pretty much 2 seasons injured and now struggling for game time. I wouldn't be looking to sell him though I'd be looking to fit him in with Coutinio Firmino and Mane as on his day he's probably the best finisher we have and only behind Aguero in the league. problem is when he's not playing he's really not missed. Wow just read that back and realised I'm backing Studge one minute whilst saying we don't really need him the next. Thank god this is Klopps problem cause my brain hurts just writing this post. YNWA. #Im confused. com.

07 Nov 2016 08:58:06
Sturridge is a good player, but the bench is where he's meant to be for now. The rythm that front 3 has is just superb. They're contributing goals and assists per game. It's probably the 2nd best and most fluid triumvirate in Europe after MSN.
And when Mane leaves for AFCON, if I was the coach, I would probably be tempted to leave Studge on the bench and play Origi wide. Bobby has been outstanding in the middle.

So eds 2, I gather from previous posts you hail from the good ol' US of A. Spent a great honeymoon there just a month or so ago, what a fantastic place. Do you still vote? Any thoughts on how you see the election going?!

{Ed002's Note - I am from the US but have spent more time living in Europe than the US having left their 35 years ago. I get a postal vote but suspect this will be the final one. Hilary Clinton will very likely win but I would prefer neither option And Hunter Thompson would never have blown his head off if he knew this election campaign was coming.

The US is a very large country so varies considerably. Where did you visit?}

06 Nov 2016 08:28:59
Flew to San Francisco and drove down the coast so stopped off at Monterey, pismo beech, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, Laguna beech, San Diego, Palm Springs and Las Vegas. California is so different it's like a country in itself isn't it. I guess Hillary would be a less turbulent option for everyone, what do the fbi do if she's elected and they've found evidence to prosecute?! I guess that's not for these pages though!

Ed002,

I know I'm way off football topic here but since there is a mini discussion regerding the US. A question if I may

Is it true that US citizens now living and working outside of the States are subject to taxation from the US government, even though they maybe have a small business in their UK for instance and paying the UK inland revenue?

{Ed002's Note - Expats need to file a US return like all US citizens and income not taxed elsewhere is then subject to the IRS determining what tax needs to be paid. What doesn't happen is double taxation unless the expat is living somewhere which is tax exempt. There is a provision that means that claims could potentially be made against someone paying tax at a lower rate than the US, but US tax code allows many deductions which can be beneficial. The rules then make provision for tohose who have given up their residency. My situation is rather more complicated after all of this time as I have tax obligations in more than one country.}

Killary to start world war 3, or Flump to set the Western world back by 30 years of social advancement's?

Glad I'm not an American in this election!

{Ed002's Note - The whole thing has been a very embarrassing joke. Hunter would have had a blast with this.}

06 Nov 2016 11:50:49
I am visiting California in April and I can't wait. I lived in Wisconsin for around about a year and man it was freezing and boring because I was in the middle of nowhere, and we think we have winters bad! so yeah I expect Cali to be quite the opposite lol.

{Ed002's Note - (a) It depends where in California you are going - it varies considerably across the state. (b) Wisconsin has few redeeming factors. They do weird things with cheese which is worrying. (3) Cali is in Columbia. Never call California Cali, and never call San Francisco San Fran. But enjoy,}

06 Nov 2016 12:19:02
How come it might be your last time voting ed is it because you've lived abroad so long.

{Ed002's Note - No they don't have those sorts of limitations, in fact they have very few limitations, but by the time of the next US election I may have given up my citizenship.}

06 Nov 2016 12:29:32
I'll be there for 3 weeks, so I plan on getting around a bit but will be in San Diego, I have no idea what to expect it was m wife's idea so I went along with it because alwas wanted to visit California. Thanks for the tips btw! - Yeah Wisconsin seems to be obsessed with cheese, it's an odd place and when I was there they seemed to be years behind with everything, I almost felt like a hillbilly.

{Ed002's Note - San Diego is in the very south and the Old Town is lively in the evening. If it is still there, take your wife to Croce's (as in Jim Croce - it is owned by his wife) in the evening for a meal and a little live jazz. Go and find a concert by my long-time buddy Greg Douglass who lives a little north of San Diego. If you have a car drive up and around the surreal Salton Sea and Palm Springs is with striking distance and still a pretty regular haunt for me. Some of the coastal towns to the North are OKish.}

06 Nov 2016 12:41:02
If you give up US citizenship will you have one of the new United Kingdom blue passports when they come out or will be European (French) or simply a man of the world?

{Ed002's Note - It would have to be a UK passport (regardless of whatever colour they end up being).}

06 Nov 2016 12:58:28
Then welcome aboard Ed002 we are pleased as punch to have you join us.

06 Nov 2016 12:59:40
Thanks ed2, that sounds right up my street.

06 Nov 2016 13:10:01
Would have loved to bump into you in Palm Springs ed, perhaps I did and I never knew! Our time there was so topsy turvy with the weather, it was strange. Beautiful in frisco, raining in San Diego and Palm Springs! Still, a hell of a great place, you'll have a blast 16. Make sure to have a pint of 805 when you're there too, delicious beer.

{Ed002's Note - Another bit of advice is never call The City Frisco.}

06 Nov 2016 13:15:29
Admittedly had no idea who Thompson was until about 3 minutes ago. Have to say he has an interesting funeral ceremony. But, this dude was friends with johnny depp, and john Kerry; he can't be that politically astute. He didn't like Nixon, who I knew nothing about. But a lot of people didn't like Reagan, then he was elected and a lot of people changed their minds. I don't see that happening after this election though!

{Ed002's Note - You probably need to raed Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas or watch Gonzo.

Breakfast is the only meal of the day that I tend to view with the same kind of traditionalized reverence that most people associate with Lunch and Dinner. I like to eat breakfast alone, and almost never before noon; anybody with a terminally jangled lifestyle needs at least one psychic anchor every twenty-four hours, and mine is breakfast. In Hong Kong, Dallas or at home — and regardless of whether or not I have been to bed — breakfast is a personal ritual that can only be properly observed alone, and in a spirit of genuine excess. The food factor should always be massive: four Bloody Marys, two grapefruits, a pot of coffee, Rangoon crepes, a half-pound of either sausage, bacon, or corned beef hash with diced chilies, a Spanish omelet or eggs Benedict, a quart of milk, a chopped lemon for random seasoning, and something like a slice of Key lime pie, two margaritas, and six lines of the best cocaine for dessert… Right, and there should also be two or three newspapers, all mail and messages, a telephone, a notebook for planning the next twenty-four hours and at least one source of good music… All of which should be dealt with outside, in the warmth of a hot sun, and preferably stone naked.
-- Dr. Hunter S. Thompson}

06 Nov 2016 13:40:39
Duly noted ed.

06 Nov 2016 14:06:43
i didn't realise that was a quote till the end was picturing ed scranning a 3 course breakfast topped off with a flake haha.

06 Nov 2016 16:56:22
Brilliant, i love that.

06 Nov 2016 16:15:39
Ed are you secretly Hunter S Thompson? After selling the movie rights for Fear and Loathing and the Rum Diary did you fake your death to live out the rest of your days peacefully as the editor of a football rumours site after becoming disillusioned with America? Please say that's true.

{Ed002's Note - Sadly Hunter has gone - but I did know him way back in the day.}

06 Nov 2016 21:55:49
Just got to throw it out there Wisconsin is only boring ifn you're some kinda city folk that doesn't know where to go and how to camp. And yes we do have sex with cheese.

07 Nov 2016 12:44:40
May win most gullible poster of the year here ed but did you actually know him? Ever get down to bat country?

{Ed002's Note - I knew Hunter very well in the late 70s and until I left the US in 1981. After that he used to write occasionally and I saw him a few times between then and hius death 25 years later.

Barstow has no redeeming factors but I hear they have a restaurant.}

06 Nov 2016 06:33:09
Pretty sure Goal difference would come into the say this season and as we are famous for scoring goals for fun we are equally famous for conceding in plenty.
We scored a goal more than City in 13/ 14, But conceded 15 more than them. One reason we went for all out attack against Palace.
How come one of the best attacking side is in the league sitting 4th in the table of GD?
Not signing a world class CB in the summer will haunt us.
Don't shoot me down but One Musthafi has made Arsenal look a world good at the back.

Believable0 Unbelievable9

06 Nov 2016 06:53:18
City scored a goal more than us in 13/ 14 and conceded 13 less.

Also City and Chelsea have both played a goal more than us, we could very well be first by the end of the day. I like Mustafi but of the top teams Arsenal have only played Us and Chelsea at home. 1 win and 1 loss. Unless you consider Leicester a top side which they drew away.

After the game against Tottenham and the Utd game in a few week it'll give us an actual gauge of how good they are and even then most of those 'difficult' games have been at their home.

06 Nov 2016 07:28:06
Sweet chin music would you like a signing like David Luiz for £30mill or stones £50mill just for the sake of it. we signed an international/ champions league class player in Matip (for free) is that not enough?

Besides who knows what Klopp will do when we sell Sakho.

06 Nov 2016 07:39:02
Sakho out Süle in would be sensible January business.

06 Nov 2016 09:06:30
Saying all that i would gladly just take 1 nil or 2 1 today. People don't realise this is a tough game with Watford unbeaten in 4 and 3 consecutive clean sheets.

We should not have expectations of sweeping them aside 4 nil. It will be hard to get a result today.

06 Nov 2016 11:52:06
It is a tough game, but every game is. We'll do them no problem I think. Well, I hope so anyway, 1-0 would also do me, we need them 3 points.

06 Nov 2016 09:24:01
Virgil Van Dijk for me
We need to get him before mourinho puts in an absurd bid.

06 Nov 2016 09:42:41
Hyach

No I wouldn't, But then I wouldn't have bought Klavan for free as well. NOT every cheap signing becomes profitable in the long run and not every expensive signings. It's about a am established player at the back.

06 Nov 2016 09:45:28
I had a very vivid dream that we won 7-1 last night. Considering popping to the bookies!

06 Nov 2016 10:34:25
How will goal difference come into it? Today begins the start of a 28 game winning run 😎.

06 Nov 2016 10:53:54
Totally agree with you Sweet chin.

I got shot down and told I was being negative when I mentioned this.

06 Nov 2016 12:17:35
I do agree Harry, Klaven I'd of left alone, he's backup as best. I don't think we needed him but what do I know.

06 Nov 2016 12:49:31
I'd back Gomez over Süle. I really don't see any quality in Süle and he's not mobile enough for the premier league.

Why are we being negative and talkin about goal difference already?

06 Nov 2016 13:31:00
Absolutely Ron, young Gomez deserves a chance. can't wait to see more of the lad.

06 Nov 2016 05:04:56
Hey Eds, am I right in saying that we're set to lose both Matip and Mane in January for the African Nations?

Where will that leave us with cover at the back? Klavan and Lovren, with Lucas cover doesn't really instill many of us with confidence at the moment.

Not sure how match fit Gomez could be around that time. And what about Ilori? Any possibility of him staking a claim?

Cheers :)

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - just Mane.}

06 Nov 2016 07:30:16
I think Matip decided not to go to the ACON.

06 Nov 2016 14:53:27
Nice to hear, shame Mane will miss out on some important games though!

05 Nov 2016 22:50:06
Evening Ed001
I've seen you talk often about players you've met so I thought I'd ask did you ever meet Yossi Benayoun? If so what was he like? I always thought he was a wonderfully gifted footballer with a quick brain and feet to match. Underrated in my opinion
Would you agree.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I have never met him, sadly. I did love him as a player, not just for his ability but for his workrate and desire. He just never seemed to stop. I agree very underrated. I certainly had never realised how good he was until we signed him.}

06 Nov 2016 09:08:44
Remember that goal he scored against Fulham in the 90th at nil nil? 08/ 09

We almost won the title that year if not for spurs to give up a 2 nil lead and that macheda goal.

Not as painful as 13/ 14 though.

06 Nov 2016 04:32:22
Hello Reds. Quick question, based on current form, who is our best number ten Couthino or Lallana?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Nov 2016 06:02:20
Lallana is number twenty. So obviously its Coutinho.

06 Nov 2016 10:42:07
I think he meant our best multiple of 10 😉.

06 Nov 2016 02:13:57
What's all this talk about Coutinho leaving, from what I know the window ended on the 1st of September. The way some people are going on about it, you'd think that a secret window had just been opened by FIFA - mind you, FIFA opening a transfer window just for Barcelona to buy Coutinho would do them no favours given the talk of officials favouring Barca. Coutinho is still a Liverpool player up until at least the summer, until then he will continue to shine for us. Football is in a state of constant flux and a lot could change before the summer, we could win the league and then he could sign a contract extension. From my understanding, Coutinho's issue is the lack of Champions League football, I am certain we will have champions league football or more at the end of the season. We also shouldn't be throwing Coutinho under the bus, he is a great player, has been professional and is playing very well. If he wants to leave we should thank him for what he's done and move on, the beauty of Klopp's system is that you could practically take anyone out of the team without severely weakening us.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

06 Nov 2016 05:47:10
Really? What if you take Klopp out?
