Hi to all you reds! the night doctor here. gooner in peace! congrats to you all for sundays victory over manure. i was jumping just as high as you when you scored! personally i think the first goal was brilliant! what a run by LS.
like one of your posters said a bit ago. lucky it wasnt webb or clattenburg (aint that some kinda cake) they surely would have sent JC off. . and probably disallowed the second goal for some stupid reason. you know. . nani to kuyt means its offside, cos fergie (miserable git) says he's deflected his header back. . tosser! anyway liverpool played em off the park as far as i could make out! and can one of you scouse lads answer me this. .do any of you actually rate rooney. its funny how every transfer window all europes top and chelski say they're gonna buy xxx, xxx and xxx. . but nobody ever mentions rooney. it seems to me hes overated here and for some reason the press and tv make him out to be some kind of superstar. i certainly dont. to me he has less impact in a game than many others unless you take account of the obsenity lessons he hands out via the tv. anyway good luck for the rest of the season (bar 1 fixture) . and heres something i think you ought to know. . with the way youre playing now under Dalgleish, i believe that you're now in the position to reclaim your place at the top (well 2nd to us) in the league. i think next season you'll be a bigger threat than manure. fergies time is coming to an end. lets all sing together now. your gonna win f**k all man u.

Evening Eds, I see the rumours are starting again after the post jan slump!

We need 2 wingers either side of pitch, Payet I know nothing about and feel that we are working hard to get Young in. Young works both sides on wing and would be a good addition, but I, like many want Turan! Would
he cost more than Payet? Plus with Marveuax on free as backup!
Turan wants LFC, KK wants Turan! Not sure what the hold up is?
With our world class strike force and Young and Turan supplying and scoring we would be scoring goals for fun!
Signings:
Then should be Turan, Young, a LB, M'Vila DM and hopefully a class CB. A backup striker would be nice but I would get Sterling in - he looks class! I REALLY hope we go for Turan.

Eds, what do you think? Do you think we need more than this? {Ed002's Note - Turan is not nailed on at all. Payet is right sided and offers a lot. Young seems likely I am informed by folks from here. I expect a striker and a midfield player and possibly a centre back.}

al roo {Ed001's Note - I think he will start in Europe, we don't have many choices up front after all. I think it is clear to see that we would have been fighting for a top four place if Kenny had been manager from the start of the season. I don't think a player change would have helped under Roy though, he was far too mediocre in his thinking.}

I haven't been on this site for a while and I am puzzled by the fact that so many people seem to believe Ashley Young is almost certain to be a Liverpool player next season. I still don't understand the interest in Adam, but it can't hurt to have him as well and the Benzema link is just plain ridiculous in my opinion. Can someone (ed, please) explain to me why it is assumed these players will join? Also, I am shocked by Torres' play of late. Watched him again this afternoon against B'pool and to say that he looks like a shadow of his former self would be an insult to the shadow of his former self. Chelsea will have to work hard to make him look good. I think he did us all a favour by leaving the way he did. I can't wait for next season when we should have actual wingers with speed.

Just your thoughts on a few transfers. .
There are a lot of comments about reina leaving and one in particular that he doesn't look very happy when liverpool scored once blah blah blah. . His face was overjoyed yesterday wasnt he? doesn't really look like grumpy git (forgoten his name but well worth 50 ;) )does he?

Also, there was a massive deal made about carrol moving, saying that he was pushed and that he wanted to stay but the board wanted the money. . Did anyone see him on the touch line? his face was grinning from ear to ear, he couldnt wait to get onto the pitch. What do you think eds? {Ed001's Note - I don't care if he was pushed or jumped myself, the important thing is he is here and hopefully can play a big part in the club's future.}

Totally agree with you irish kev the comments on sunday were terrible.

when suarez made his run on sunday all they said about it was he was lucky with the first turn, now you make your own luck, and that carrick should have done better on the second he went pass never once did they say great on the lad for doing what he did.

as for rafael before maxi you could see he had red in in is eyes if maxi had the ball he would have took him out.

Especially after his post match comments on Sunday - All talk for Carragher & Maxi to be sent off but seemed to ignore Rafael's tackle on Lucas. Was disgusted with Souness, he was sat beside Wilkins when he said it all & Souness failed to point out Rafael's role in the whole situation. Made up my mind on Souness now once & for all. Don't like the man!

Never harmed a team to have a right footed left back like Irwin for Manure & Lahm for Bayern & Germany for example.

I agree but another quality full back that can play both left and right would be ideal to cover injuries as we shouldn't play carra at right back - any decent winger with pace and endevour would do him. Rooney didn't even try to go past him on sunday he kept cutting back inside and making crosses.

I do hear what you're saying & agree to a point but Marveraux is meant to be coming for free so that is enough for me now in the full back positions. When Kelly is injured, Johnson will switch over with either Marveraux or Agger coming in there or if Robinson pushes his development onto another level next season then he can fill in. For me, there are more important positions to buy for right now.
Just my opinion & i do respect yours too mate - not saying you're wrong or anything!
Rooney kept coming inside because Carragher kept showing him onto his right foot for fear he would "do" him for pace down the wing to cross from the byline & it worked out well for us! Rooney was ineffective because of this. It was a little risky but effective so i'll take it mate! :)
Whereas Suarez did 3 or 4 players for pace & skill & got to the byline for the first goal & look at what happened - yahoo!
Rafael is quite fast - so it's not all about speed in the full back role.
Experience & guile are important too.

more than a bargain - he is running defences ragged - the way he can turn in such a short space and so quickly - no one can keep up with him - defenders are chasing shadows - and once carrol gets goin, suarez, kuyt and gerrard will pick up all the knock downs - toshack and keegan all over again

I've seen numerous posts (all season) about players we alledgedly intend to get rid of in the summer and I have to ask if anyone knows how long the following have contracts for as TBH I can't see us getting much money for them:

Degan
El Zhar
Insua

Also does anyone know if Ayala and Ince have signed new contracts (I thought both were up at the end of this season?

Finally really pleased with us buying Suarez and Carroll for the a similar price as Torres and Babel. Suarez if he keeps playing like that is going to be a legend; if we also get rid of the likes of Poulsen, Konchesky and a few others and buy 5 or 6 players that Macca/ Ed seem think we hopefully will then it's going to be a v good team next year.

{Ed002's Note - No. Ben Arfa looks like he may well have finally sorted himself out at Newcastle and he only signed a few weeks ago. He won't be hoing anywhere. Payet is an exceptional talent - I am sure many clubs will want him (PSG for a start) if Liverpool look at naive stats for their players.}

There not exactly naive stats are they. My whole point is in my opinion Ben Arfa is a much more talented player than Payet.

And so is young. My question was is ben arfa available, which you have said he isn't so fair enough.

But don't forget the stats from young are over a career which started with watford, and moved onto villa.

He scored and assisted plenty in his season in the EPL with watford, and is doing the same with villa.

Payet's stats are from a shocking league with s**te defences and generally poor quality teams.

Do we really need a new left back when Glen Johnson has been nothing short of outstanding since moving over there? ?
We also have Agger that can cover, Carragher too if needs be (i know he's slow but can read the game pretty well still), Robinson & Mavinga coming through also & they need to be given their chance.
Just think we could use the money in different positions especially if the story on Mavereaux is true (he can also cover left back if injuries occur).
I for one expect a lot of departures in the summer & a few incomings (up to ten out & maybe six coming in).

Couldn't agree more mate. I like Johnson playing left side, but I also feel Danny Wilson will be a great player on the left in the years to come. And we do have plenty of youth to give time to if things do not work out with Wilson.

We have much more important positions to fill before considering LB. When Kelly is fit you have Johnson, Wilson, Agger and on the very rare occasion Carragher can fill in there, although carra is not ideal as full back.

This would give another 2 seasons atleast for our youngsters to play some cup games and grow into first team players.

ha , another 90 minutes gone and still FT hasnt found the net, Drogba getting dragged off, Kalou crying out cos hes not getting a sniff, and anelka doesn't even feature yet FT gets another full game. wasnt there once a striker said to be the best in the world who went to chelsea and we never heard of him again?

Chelsea make the best strikers in the world flop, I think FT would of been watching yesterday as Suarez skipped past 4 and a cold bead of sweat rolled down his back

Fundamentally though he has lost the magic and although he won't admit it the hunger and desire he had in his first 2 years with us. Suarez now has that same hunger and magic but also one hell of a work rate to boot. Imagine in the summer we sign a centre mid, winger and full back with equally as good work rates / quality we would be fairly unstoppable. I don't think Ashley Young is the answer I would prefer Gervinho, from what I have seen he has a much better work rate, physically stronger and this season Gervinho has scored twice as many goals and provided twice as many assits as young. A few certainties are that Kenny will have his targets, the onwers will back him, if we keep up this form and win the Europa League the pull of LFC will be strong and the next window is going to be very special indeed.

Chelsea are in negotiations with turan! This is fact as it has come from a person i trust with my life. Chelsea will be making a bid and its up to TURAN to decide where he will go. Yes if LFC offered he would surely come to us but YOUNG is our first target and possibly payet'.
If turan does decide to move to chelsea, he will become a sensation, while we will have the overated young collecting his huge wage bill each week'. I will be extremely angry if the move happens as i think kk really rated him and Camolli had young move already panned out. Also I think it is disgraceful that a player with top quality who has begged to move here and we are ignoring it, letting him Potentially' go to our rivals and we settle for a Dearer' lesser player. Ed? {Ed001's Note - I trust in Dalglish to make the right choices for the club. I personally would prefer Turan, but Dalglish knows more about footie than I ever will.}


not meaning any offense mate but have you ever actually seen him play in more than 5 games? has any one other than a select few on here?
he has given a come get me plea to liverpool on many occasions, yet he is still a gala player, yes kenny likes him, he proberly likes messi but doesn't mean we are gonna sign him. hes a good player yes, but why is he not being courted by th big clubs across europe?all questions that we can't answer. point is, its march, we have no idea who we are interested in and untill the summer we possibly won't find out, did anyone expect carroll in jan?. . don't judge kenny till the end of next season, when he will have put his own team together, and don't give comolli a hard time after bringing in suarez who looks a great talent, and carroll, who will most likely be the england number 9 for the next 8-10 years in a january window.

Payet may look good in French league but his stats are not all that impressive!

Young, Turan would be my first choices, but I would also look into the prospect of buying Hatem Ben Arfa. Looked a good player and dealt with english football really well before the tackle that broke his leg.

Is he a Newcastle player or currently just on loan?

LFC Till I Die {Ed001's Note - they bought him and there is a reason he has been persona non grata at every club he has been at. He is a trouble maker, not what we need at all. As for Payet's stats, Pennant had excellent stats and was useless, they don't tell the story at all and are pointless reading without any kind of context to put them in.}

Guys need a little info, i've decided to drive to anfield on 17th against braga, any ideas on safe parking?

Walton Breck Road mate, especially if you can get hold of a disabled blue badge, (which i use legally!) but everywhere around the ground is safe enough, I park by the ground for every game i go to and it doesn't cross my mind about the safety of the car, and anyway police are everywhere

yeh i think he looks good but not class , in 4 seasons at st etienne hes only got 14 assists which for a winger maybe you would expect more than an average of 3.5 assists a season and doesn't score too many either , i mean people criticise a.young and say hes not good enough yet hes got 70 assists and 59 goals to his name so how can people say a young is rubbish but payet is excellent? do you see what i mean ed? the stats say it all at the end of the day , your not a great striker if you score 1 goal in 100 games. just amazes me really , i think we should be looking at bigger names than payet , weve taking too many gambles in the past with lesser name players and hasnt payed off but when you buy the big names they pay off ( suarez for example ) , just frustrates me when people say sanchez hazard and everyone else we can't get , but yet the likes of arsenal and chelsea can? or man city , none of them 3 clubs are as big as liverpool and never will be.

I can't answer that to be honest.

Heart say's Dalglish and my mind just can't say an absolute no to Mourinho. I did wonder if that's one reason Steve Clarke was taken on board as he worked with Mourinho at Chelsea.

I've always seen Mourinho as the type of manager who would want lots of money to spend. We're not sure if this is NESV.

I would be gutted for Dalglish, just couldn't do it to the man. He's a genuine Liverpool, Mourinho would be in it for himself and prove he's the special one, can't be doing with all that. . Dalglish has more class than that so I'm now leaning towards KK.

Im not a regular attender mate, but i went to the home game against Trabszonspor earlier in the season and i ended up using Goodison to park in and walk across stanley park. Bit expensive but it seemed secure enough!

He looked scared out on the pitch, didn't look for the ball and was almost shocked when an opponent didn't give him time on the ball. . after him and Dossena, not much time for Italian footballers. a few of the young, skillful, promising, hungry players that we have been linked with. Any of these players will defo improve the squad and hope that 3 or 4 of them will join in the summer (my preference= M'vila-as physical as they come at his age, Ganso- not many players have been compared to zin zi and looked a Brazilian international before his injury (good for attracting more young Brazilian or South American talents.)and Marveaux-seems inevitable but also linked with manu and chelsea= good signs {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath for Ganso moving to Liverpool.}

Guys, it was great the victory espec over THEM but lets get focused, we aint getting half of the players posted coz at the end of the day we are still not going to be in the C/ L next year and most of them want that, and we will lose Reina. So we need some clever transfers in summer.

Utd will be the big spenders this summer coz they have to so we have to be the clever ones.

We need to stay focused and enjoy our improvement but remember at the end of the day we still won't have c/ l footy and we are still no nearer to a prem title so lets just chill a bit and build and enjoy but be realistic while we do it.

Plus anyone who lives near Blackpool will tell you that Adam is going to Spurs coz Bale is going to Utd.

We all know our biggest weakness is in the Wings yet we are Likely' to only but 1 winger and instead of a top class winger we are buying young', and im sick of this trust kk business, the lad will show that hes not a great winger, will improve under dalglish but still not be good enough. Also say if young' gets injured, what natural winger will we have? None!. we need at least 2 wingers, yes you don't know if he might be the only winger purchased but its a high possibility he will be the only winger bought. Ed, what sense does this make while we are probably buying ADAM, MARVEUX AND M'VILLA, three more Centre midfielders'. Having good contacts in italy I can say there is no interest now in Jovetic, before his injury however LFC were very close to sealing a deal for him. Not sure how much interest there is now, No contact with Fiorentina for some time I'm told.

Personally I think he is an excellent player pretty quick and skillfull, 10-15 goals a season, can play either wing. Has a problem with consistency though.

We are the best option for honda in my opinion:

Arsenal: They have alot of players who play in an attacking central midfield role (nasri, wilshere, fabregas) and they play 4-3-3 so there wouldn't be room for him.

Napoli: They are in the Italian league which is not as good as the prem, they are a club who have no history, big reputation and are not always battling at the top of the table.

Athletico: Doing very poorly in the league for two years now, aren't classed as a top team, and again have no history.

Milan: Would easily get in their starting line-up and would probly be a good move for him, but their in a league not as good as the prem.

Barcelona: No chance of starting.

Liverpool: Desperate for a creative midfielder, wide player so would start mainly, great future, owners willing to spend, brilliant manager, and in the 'best league in the world'.

I think taking into acount these points, we would be the best move for him. If we can sign him along, with another wide man (turan), left back (coentrao), back up striker (sturridge), and either centre back (kjaer) or central midfielder (gago/ banega) and we could win the league!

Suarez, Carroll & Dirk as backup striker looks good for next year, however, we need another pacy skillful option if Suarez is injured. Carroll & Dirk together? Not sure we need 4 more signings. Suarez is pure class and Carroll has yet to get a proper run.

I reckon we started this season as a top 4 side with a mid table manager, which resulted in us playing like a lower table side. We now have a top 4 manager, a couple of top class additions (only one of which has played any games) and we're now playing like a top 4 side.

Makes you wonder where we'd be in the table right now if KK had been made manager at the start of the season.

We'd probably be in with a great chance of winning the league this season with the way the current top 5 have blundered along and dropped points all over the place.

C'mon boys let's put in a strong finish to this season and scare the other teams $. .less worrying about LFC next season.

I would only change two things about that line up, a centre half and centre midfielder. Agger is too injury prone and Carra in my eyes will struggle next season. Aquilani is a joke and i would not be happy to see him back in a Liverpool shirt. I'd like to see Adam in there instead of Aquilani and slot Gerrard beside Lucas and play Adam in the more forward role.

Its horrible to read Reina's comments that he won't rule out a move to manure, surely after yesterday he can see we're the builidng side on the up whilst their giving the likes of that Carrick a new 3 year contract and trying to pursuade a 36 Scholes to play another year. Suarez is better than that other lad who went to that small London club and we all know him and Carroll are already argueably the best striker partnership in the league and they've only played 17 minutes together. Eds, can Liverpool flatly deny a transfer of Reina to them swines? They did to us over Heinze didn't they? Carragher i'm sorry to say is nearing the end and needs to be replaced with a first class CM. By this point in 11/ 12 season he will be more of a liability than an asset (and he knows it) so I expect him to gracefully step back from 1st team duties.

Waterboy want to stay in Italy, which will leaves a gap. Suprised you missed out Kuyt. .?

We have to spend, no options there; Spuds, Chavs, Manure, Chiteh and Arses will all have 2 possibly 3 first team tranfers over the summer. That means possibly 12 - 18 BIG signings, we can't afford to fall behind EPL spending this summer will be scary compared to rest of Europe because we are all laying the ground for the FFP rules.

I was trying to find things on the internet regarding this rule. I read that for the first 2 seasons fifa will allow a club to have a £34 million pound loss for them seasons, then after that they will be expected to run as a profitable business.
If the teams don't comply then when they apply for a license to play in Europe fifa will not grant them one.
So this doesn't fair well for city or chelsea who run at Massive losses.
I think owners are aloud to put £15 mill in the pot every season to help lower teams who obviously don't make a lot.
the rest will be profits and player sales, so we should do ok as we have no debt and a big fan base. I think this is perhaps why we got an injured Carroll in Jan so it doesn't effect our spending in the summer.

LAVERS {Ed001's Note - it is not quite that simple, certain things, such as youth academies, do not count towards the rules. Then there is the allowable loss which is going to be slowly reduced, not just taken away immediately. I'd like to apologise to two players who i have been slagging off in recent posts, Lucas & Kuyt. Both players played great yesterday, their work ethic is second to none, and they deserve it after the stick i and others have been giving them. Well done lads. I thought Gerrard didn't have the best of games yesterday, maybe just that he was playing with an injury but for us to be challenging on all fronts next season we need an in form Stevie G. I wouldn't sell any of the starting line yesterday, and keep the eleven for next season to build a stronger squad rather than deplete it. Looking at our bench we need to have a stronger one and with the acquisition of 3-4 good players we can do well. Imagine a bench of - Jones/ Gulacsi, Aurelio, Skrtel/ Agger, Lucas/ Shelvey, Maxi, Kuyt, and back up striker to Carrol & Suarez.

We need to have good depth in our squad and with a bench of what i just named we are covered in every area of the pitch if we need to make a sub, well maybe not the keeper but your not going to get a world class keeper willing to play second fiddle to Pepe!

I'd like your thoughts

He nearly signed for Liverpool as it was his dream, it was reported at time he went to arsenal that he wanted to join us, but he chose arsenal for family reasons, IE seeing family & travel to gams/ training without moving from Southampton. Rafa wanted him to move up to north west.

I really feel it for Aureilio. He undoubtedly is a descent left back & technically very good, but how long can you keep putting out a player who can't even make it thru a game or in yesterdays case, 45 minutes? It's a pity that his career has been blighted with injury after injury. Unfortunately for him I think this will be his last season for Liverpool. You can't really be using one sub for him & two for the rest of the team!

Totally agree - both Walcott and Lennon are very fast, but cannot put a decent cross in to save their lives - Kuyt is a better crosser than both and Suarez seems to love cutting out to the right and putting in decent crosses (for Nani to head on to Kuyt). Just want to say how good it is to see a manager smile when the team is playing well, and when Anfield sang happy birthday to him he smiled like a big kid and saluted the crowd. Just saw the starting lineup. I wonder what system we'll play? I'll tell you this though. . If Kuyt is in midfield it'll be an uphill battle. I seriously hope Gerrard is on the right w/ Lucas and Meireles in the centre and Maxi on the left. Kuty and Suarez could work well up front. Remember that its no co-incidence that the Pool have not won anything with Kuyt on the right of Midfield and we never-ever will. He single-handedly nullifies our attacking threat down the right. . . .If Kenny fails to recognise this it'll be the end of him. .Its cost Rafa and Roy. .they were blind to it, even praising him after truly godawful displays for his ability to run a lot (his legs have gone now though, at the age of only 30. . all that aimless running has cost him). HE NEVER WAS A WINGER. . ITS SENDING ME INSANE. .if he even so much as drifts wide today its a disaster. . .Just stay up top Dirk, its what you're good at. . you can hound the centre-backs all day! We need that, and we know you can head, finish and have good movement in the box, but that's no use to us out the right either! Match in 2 mins. . .Dirk super-striker or Dirk the godawful excuse for a winger. . Sort it out Kenny! The view from Australia:

Game coverage kicked off at midnight (Sydney time) and finished at 230am. Couldnt sleep before the game due to anticipation, was absolutely buzzing by half time, got to see Robbie Slater giving it to Mark Bosnich in half-time show, couldnt get to sleep after game (still buzzing), up at 7am after 3 1/ 2 hours rest and then at work by 8am - my eyes are hanging out of my head but it is so worth it - not only for the result, but how we played. I wouild do it every night to watch football like that.

Witnessing the match yesterday from the Kop Stand for the first time in my life, I can now say that ive read, watched on tv, heard about the feeling and the rush of blood through your veins but experiencing it firsthand is just something no word in the dictionary and no phrase that can possibly be uttered can rightfully justify those 90 minutes. all can say is thank you uncle for gifting me your season card because you couldnt make it.
I'd like to congratulate all the liverpool fans for being the best in the world and a big shout out to all fans who were in the Kop Stand today, you shouted your hearts out today.
It was harsh on Suarez not to get Man Of The Match because of the obvious hat-trick by Kuyt but he was by far, the best player on the pitch.
A good welcome for Carroll too, showed what he can do in the few minutes he was on, a little match fitness and our strike force will be deadly.
FERGIE WAS RIIIIGHT, YOUR FAANS ARE S*********. it was an absolute pleasure aiming and hurling this abuse constantly along with chants of S***, S***, S*** at the scums in behalf of all those who werent as lucky as me.

Personally I thought the formation shofted throughout the match.

At times it was 4-4-1-1. 4-2-1-2-1, 4-3-3, 4-1-2-3, and everything in between. Intelligent and a pleasure to watch even when under the cosh

As for Benzema, he is not wanted at Madrid, Jose doesn't rate him as he doesn't work hard enough for him. Remember how he used to moan at Cole for being lazy? Same goes for Benzema, he wants rid and is looking for replacements.}

Have we looked at Lavezzi instead of Benzema. Lavezzi is world class IMO. Would be a little more expensive but his wages would not be as high. I just don't want us to sign lots of wingers and play 442, I believe that formation just doesn't work. {Ed005's Note - We've looked at so many players!}
