So were hearing that this player might leave or that player might leave id be more worried about some of the younger players leaving than i would about any of the so called first team players because there the future of our club so we need to keep them and if some of the first team want to leave then let them go no matter who it is.

There seems to be a bit of talk on here off Adam Johnson could be the only one but I'm not convinced by him,I know he hasn't had a lot off game time at city but you'd have to ask why is that.

He would be a far better option on the right than Henderson or Kuyt. He can actually beat his man, which is a skill not possessed by any of our players to be honest. Still, I can't see him wanting to sign for a team that is 8 places below his team in the league.

Adam johnson's workrate is pretty bad, only good as an impact sub.

A lot still championing Luuk De Jong to replace Kuyt come the summer. Personally I'd love Dempsey (this is long term admiration not MOTD fever).

He's always been good but he's developed into a great player, with ability in all departments. He's similar to Kuyt with stamina, work ethic and durability. But he's also got a desire to score, with both feet, his head up close or from distance. He can play right, left or out and out striker and should settle quick. He seems ambitious and driven and could make an excellent signing.

He wouldn't cost too much, around 12 - 15 million and is worth that in my opinion. It still leaves room for a poacher or natural wide man in the squad do hopefully it'll happen.

Papa G

Straight swap for carroll. If fulham are that stupid of course.

Peter

From what I have read and heard, Dempsey has no inclination to leave west london at all.

Steve

I'd swap carroll for him all day

Eds,what are your thoughts on pablo henandez of valencia.he can be a good option for our midfield. {Ed001's Note - he is one of very few decent right wingers around, decent enough player, I would take him for us.}

08 Apr 2012 20:02:25
Eds what do you think about this young portuguese midfielder in the academy, YALANY BAIO?
Do you rate him? Do you think he will make it here? {Ed001's Note - not seen enough to judge him yet.}

08 Apr 2012 23:20:10
in the last 22 years we have allowed united to pass us both on and of the field how can this be possible its totally down to the board forget the managers we have had the ones at the top have not had the vision to increase revenues by building a massive stadium united have increased theirs year on year and so bringing in more money yet we stood still time for the owners to now say stadium must be built starting now there is no more time to waste or we will find ourselves falling further behind

LFC to offload all 30 somethings this Summer except Bellamy & Gerrard:
Reina 20m
Kuyt 5m
Maxi Free
Doni Free
Aurelio Free
Carragher Coaching Position
+ Adam 5m

Then build team around younger squad:
Flanagan, Kelly, Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Coates, Enrique, Robinson, Coady, Lucas, Spearing, Shelvey,Henderson, Downing, Gerrard, Bellamy, Suso, Sterling, Carroll, Suarez

And to sign Vorm, Vertonghen, Muniain, Johnson & Soldado

Charlie Adam is only 26 mate.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Your idea may not be wrong but i doubt that will happen as the eds said that some of the players you mentioned in the below are likely to be moved on

Why would we get rid of reina one of our best players who performs well all the time... takr ue head out of your apse please

Moving Carragher to a coaching role at Liverpool, would be allowing his poisonous influence to remain at the club. He needs to be far away from here to move the club forward. Same goes for Gerrard!

Alex ferguson said that bad decisions even themselves out during the course of the season, yeah right, even themselves for the rest of the teams but man u are way ahead in refs giving them the titles. So blatantly clear they play with 12 men.

It's getting ridiculous and League and FA really need to do something about it.

Yes and how many of those sent off when playing united , get that red , in the 1st half , and of course , everyone can see its a dodgey decision .

There is talk of Liverpool wanting to cut down on spending. I have a simple answer - close the Academy - it is a complete waste of money. We have developed two great prospects there who fans have been demanding to play in the 1st team - Sterling and Suso. According to reports Sterling could be going to Tottenham after the season (8 minutes playing time) and now I read that Fiorentina want Suso on loan with an option to sign. It is absolutely ridiculous that neither have been given more of a chance and a disgrace if they are allowed to leave. We have reached the stage in the season where League matches of no importance whatsover but we still have players like Carragher being selected. I have always said that he is the most over-rated player that Liverpool have had since the War but to many fans consider him a 'LEGEND'. He'll be forgotten as a player in five years time.
Dutchmal aaaaaarrrrrggggghhhh

You're getting angry about 'if's' and 'but's', e.g 'disgrace if they are allowed to leave.' Anyone could say that about anything, it would be a disgrace if we let our entire LFC squad leave and we were left with no players, but it's an if.

I agree with the sterling and suso getting a game mate but completely disagree with the carra is overated statement. Fans think he is a legend because he is and would do anything for Liverpool FC and us fans. He gives 100% in every single game he plays and has played for LFC.

My honest opinion Carra will be a future manager of LFC.

I stopped reading when you said to close the academy

You're living off of paper talk mate. It isn't set in stone that Sterling and Suso are leaving. Suso rejected Barcelona AND Real Madrid to come to Liverpool. He obviously wants to play for us.

BthekingB

Am sure sterling is only 17 yrs old , fair play to kenny , for trying to protect him , and he will go on to be a brilliant player , next season , he should get more playing time .
redforever

Don't worry Dutchmal, the papers said the World was going to end in 6 months time when Gordon Brown was the Prime Minister. Guess what? The World didn't end.

The moral of the Story is not to believe everything you read, especially not from gossip columns in the paper when the transfer window is shut.

Hello ....heads (won't sign that because most of you don't have the guts to either. The first sentence was meant as a little bit of sarcasm (sorry for you all if you didn't see that)! One point that we must remember that we shouldn't believe everything we read in the papers but more importantly we shouldn't DISBELIEVE everything either. I am not angry - there are more important things in life to get ANGRY about - like comments from that person and the end oif the world. It's neither relevant or helpful.
Dutchmal

Dutchmal you seem like a very gullible person. I can guarantee right here right now Sterling and Suso will not be leaving Liverpool anytime in the foreseeable future.

Evening eds, just wondering, is there any reason why G.Johnson couldn't play right wing, with Kelly playing behind in defence? Only ask cos this could maybe save us some money in the summer. Glen has some defencive issues but in midfield would not be an issue. If Kelly charges forward then Glen could cover and vice versa. Have heard that there is something in Glens' Contract that states he must play RD? Any thoughts please??

Many thanks
Johnboy {Ed003's Note -No need to add a comment mate,you have covered it all}

Johnson is at his best overlapping but

Bang on Johnboy! Great observation & one I've thought should have been an obvious move by KD. I think Johnson having a more forward role would solve our winger problem. Can only surmise that his contract clause in anticipation of the Euros is what has prevented this from happening to this point.

Anyone ever thought that there is a big diff between coming onto the ball or bringing it out from RB and running behind or turning and making space from RW? I dont think Johnson will make a great winger, but he is a great RB and not appreciated enough.

Who gives a toss if Suarez & Reina want to leave. Get shot i say.
Have you seen the state of us at the moment?
We should take the money & reinvest it in a new dynamic crop of players.
Im fed up of most of our players at the moment, & wouldn't be too bothered if we got rid of about 10 of them in the summer. Im sick of seeing gutless or unsportsmanlike performances from our players, they are tainting the clubs good name.
We need fresh blood ready to fight for this club, and i'd like to see a few of these players looked at:
F Llorente
J McCarthy
C Dempsey
J Vargas
S Fletcher
S Brown
S Kiessling
J Vertonghen
E Lavezzi
L Fer
R Soldado
B Valero
H Lloris

Dave Comolli

Yeah and the same happens next year, and you rant again , give your head a rest!
JayB

Any1 else you fancy naming from FIFA?

Good idea: let's get shot of all the player's!

Or maybe it is the coaching, tactics, and results that is the cause of the problem?

Maybe Chelsea provide a clue as to what is going on . . .

Got a feeling there'll be some big players putting in a transfer request this summer. Would be gutted to see Reina especially go, but can't blame him. We're miles off competing for the big two; the league or the CL.

Ash

Still moaning, Ash?

Why reina isnt anywhere near as good as he was. he isnt great at coming for crosses and many times this season he has let in dodgy goals, this is coming from a gk. i think that wayne hennessy of wolves would do a better job than him, or vorm. there are man better keepers out there then riena.

I just don't think Reina's heart's in it anymore. When you look at our squad, we are so short of genuine quality it's unbelievable. You don't suddenly become a bad keeper. I am not convinced of Kenny's back room team either.

Ash

I think that when Torres left , Pepe lost a part of his game , he seems a bit heavy on his legs , and slow to react , when did he last save a pen ,
redforever

We sacked our goalkeeper coach last season didnt we? surely its no coincidence
NZL_red

I agree with the Hennesey opinion. Very big guy, bit vulnerable when having to go low but certainly a goalkeeper with potential.

Ozone

If reina leaves, i wud want to replace him with lloris or mandanda. they have played at the highest level. Why sign a gk whose team is on the brink of relegation?

Evening Eds fellow reds ,just had a look at juan vargas rumour is we are intrested . Good player but no good for us because he is left footed , runs down wing and whips the ball in the box like stevie highway ,must learn to cut inside and give it away to fit in to our team. Cheers psv

I saw vargas come on as a sub , not too long ago , and he did not look too good to me ,

we need a goal scorer i think charlie austin from burnley is out and out and has great movement what do you think?

08 Apr 2012 22:15:31
Would be a dream if we sold Reina and buy Ter-Stegen. And if we could have a central midfield with Gerrard and Lucas with Shelvey and Henderson as back ups. A left winger in Sterling with Downing as back up or opposite. A right winger in Munian with Suso or Kuyt as back up. An attack with Soldado and Suarez and Carroll as back up. It would be a strong team with only three buys. The defence with no changes

100 mill again?? and we still sing loud...money cant buy success...but they buy players...who gets the success.....

08 Apr 2012 22:13:35
Macca do u think theres any interest at all in honda?

08 Apr 2012 22:11:34
Can I just point out the obvious and only a few have said this before.... The reason why Man U Arsenal Man City Spurs Newcastle Chelsea are better than us (especially against smaller teams) is tactical... They always get more than 2 players in the box. We do not.... We only ever seem to have one player in there. Tactical? Too defensive? Or lack of fitness? We play to deep and this is because there is no confidence in defence. Clarke is a defensive coachand has set us up that way. Hence why we cant beat teams that come to Anfield and sit back and say come on then try opening us up. Theres that plus the fact every ref are cheating f@cks and like to give teams like Man U a helping hand every day......speeds

Notice how deep we play when agger is out and carra plays? Does my nut in. But still hendo, adam, spearing, and a few others rarely get into the box

Was meant to agree to above post

gee man

Because without agger our defence is too slow. singing a fast cb will change the way we play as the midfield can push up and join attacks in the box. i think coady (who is a box to box midfielder) may be able to attack if given time but that kind of midfielder is rare in todays footballing world

We have a box-to-box midfielder, his name is Henderson! Once we start playing him in the centre, with a hollding player (Lucas once he's back!) and play Stevie on the right then it will work. Next season, hopefully we'll have a decent right winger, with SG used more as a sub, we'll have a more balanced team (always hoping and always supporting!!)

sp

The reason we don't beat teams at Anfield is quite simple. Not enough pace or creativity in the team, simple.

Elmo

GK) Reina - Gulacsi
RB) Johnson - Kelly - Flanagan
CB) Skrtel - Carragher
CB) Agger - Coates
LB) Enrique - Robinson
RM) Hoilett - Phillips
CM) Gerrard - Henderson - Spearing
CM) Lucas - Shelvey
LM) Downing - Sterling
CF) de Jong - Carroll
CF) Suarez - Bellamy

In: Luuk de Jong(£12m), Junior Hoilett(free) and Matt Phillips(£4m).

You are one of the few posters on here that actually lives in the real world. I think these three look quite likely, and would improve the squad. Still don't see them allowing us to break into the top 4, but we'd be close.

How can it be realistic when the ed's have repeatedly said that there is little to zero interest in Hoilett? Or that they know of no interest in him?

steve {Ed002's Note - Keep in mind that things can and often change. Whilst Liverpool have not shown any interest in Hoilett to date, it does not mean that they will not at some point.}

Watching the Valencia game now and Balague who's in the studio has told us that Soldado (who is on the bench) has had a falling out with the manager. Could this boost the chance of us signing him?

Summer will pan out as follows:

In

Crouch (10m)
Roger Johnson (5m)
Leon Britton (7m)
Mikel (12m)
Riise (3m)
Collins (p/ex)
Heskey (p/ex)
Albrighton (p/ex)

Out

Suarez (25m)
Agger (20m)
Reina (22m)
Carroll (p/ex)
Maxi (3m)
Aurelio (2m)

KD wants proven experience in EPL and cut losses on Carroll. Henderson will be loaned out.

Surreal

Whatever

You must be a new Liverpool fan who just started to watch football. Otherwise you wouldve known that crouch was our player. But good try though

Proven premeirship experience has certainly worked out for us this season hasnt it numpty?

All these people wanting Dalglish to leave are being ridiculous. People should remember he won the title with Liverpool and Blackburn. Just be patient.

Must be a united fan on a wind-up,no hope of a title for liverpool anytime within the next 10years,sadly a once great club has fallen greatly, the gap will only widen between city, utd, chelsea and arsenal and yee,yee may still have some big one off results but the consistency needed for a proper tilt at the title is years away for yee

Didn't win it he already had everything he needed with us and he bought the title with blackburn when no one else had money

Bought and just about scraped it with Blackburn - spent and failed with u lot when the rest are more competitive - lo g live the queen lol

Makes me laugh,.. Bought the title with Blackburn? and yet he is vilifyed for crap signings last season with 100m to spend!.. You ppl are pathetic and should hang your heads if ur calling urselfs LFC fans.. Total muppets the lot of ya!

hi eds all reds so many rumours already surrounding our great club! will reina stay? i dont know , myself . i think he hasnt seemned himself this season , maybe other reasons for that away from lfc maybe not. will glenn johnson stay? why would he leave? ive read eds opinion , that wages are to high, but wouldnt that apply to other players to? to some even more so! maybe wanting to move back to london? i dont know about that one, who would we sign to replace him? read rumours about agger wanting to go or, being judged to injury prone? great player for me, who would replace him? a lot of people think we need a creative midfielder? who? and who would be sold? a right sided midfielder is a must , but who and what type of player? if we look at what kenny did first time around , maybe some clues are there . barnes on the left houghton on the right. downing , not the same type of winger as barnes , and , no , not as good. but, more of a midfielder than tricky winger for me, so maybe we need a out and out winger for the right side, as kd was wanting young , smeone similar? affelly ? then the biggest question of all , what happens about up front? well i for one am not about to start slagging off , and blaming andy carroll completley. louis suarez has to take his share of the blame to. also , management team to . why play downing and not carroll , and vice versa! carrolls posistiong still open to question , suarez can be very slfish at times, just doesnt see others runs or the pass , when he should if we look again at kd 1st time around, when rush left for juve . aldridge wasc signed , he played with beardsley, tricky , skilful but unselfish! for me , if carroll stays , we need a more direct type of partner for him i.e dempsey. gret worker, good goal scorer , team man. if carroll goes , we need a rush type player. now , im not about to start saying any of the following are as good as rushy , im not!. but i think steven fletcher , wolves forward , would be a good player to have. very good goal scoring record, mobile, good in the air, a very good player, also, im led to belive, hes a red, his dad was a season ticket holder at anfield. im not going for hollywood names here. we dont have champions league, appeal tp players and money , its got to make a difference! if any bigger and better come in , then great, but , i for one , am not getting my hopes up , to be shot down! once again hopeing for a great result against the bitters! unfortunatley , i wont be there. cant get a ticket, unless i spend 300 quid! im not begrudging season ticket holders and those who have attended more games than me , thats only fair, i am a member along with my 6yr old boy, he would love to be going to the game! to all reds lucky enough to be going , sing them out the ground, and p[ush our boys to victory! as alwaya , especially now , godbless 96 and all reds! strviep48

Ever heard of paragraphs?

Not football related but watching the masters at the moment (got money on Hanson, Kuchar and Harrington so hopefully I may win a bit) and it occurred to me is there anything worse in any sport anywhere than an American golf crowd?

Chris in Tamworth

Yes. The football fans in Europe who throw bananas at black players.

Oh wait - they're not American. Scratch that.

How about a crowd that constantly moan, and who curse and groan at every misplaced pass, and a crowd who want their manager sacked after 1 season..or a crowd who come on here moaning about bad luck and biased referees..or a crowd that are more interested in berating their own players, rather than cheering them on?....take a good look in the mirror guys...the winkmeister.

08 Apr 2012 21:20:06
Please all Liverpool fans stick with Kenny we have done well in the cups and we would have struggled with 4th... Give the manager a chance to buy and get the right targets this summer and improve on our squad. We could have bought in Jan but it would of been more panic buys... Kenny will sort it give him one more season, hasn't earn't that chance for what he has done for us.....
Trust me I believe he can turn us around, just one more season of full support.

Pookymonster

I agree mate.

Struggle is an understatement.

we should try sign Marc-André ter Stegen from Borussia Mönchengladbach only 19 and 6ht 1

08 Apr 2012 20:57:06
All these people wanting Dalglish out should remember he won the title with Liverpool and Blackburn. Just be patient.

That was 1990 era now 2012. forget about he win EPL now day with only british talent

Well, we have won 18 times too but probably that doesn't make any difference to our recent decline. Hope, we'd be back on top soon. YNWA trustme

And Djimi Traore won the Champions League. What's your point?

You also need to consider his experience with Newcastle and Celtic - his last two managerial jobs. Not such a happy ending.

08 Apr 2012 20:39:47
Evening eds fellow reds ,is the reina talk got any legs. cant afford to lose him cause we wont get krul .hate to say it but the jordies are in a place we can only dream of .

Reina is a top goalkeeper but like every single player who wears the shirt, can be replaced.
It's about team unity, bonding, gelling and of course grit and detimination that makes success. No player should ever hold the club or supporters to ransom and they all should realise that they can be replaced if they arnt trying hard enough.

08 Apr 2012 20:38:57
I think that everyone needs to calm down. Reina and Suarez won't leave, I'm sure they know better than us (the fans) that there's a serious renewing going on in Liverpool. It always takes time to build a succesfull team basically from scratch (and we already won a trophy!). Future is bright.

But Ed's have heard anything about Luuk De Jong or Gaston Ramirez? Are those two the closest signing a deal with us? {Ed002's Note - There is interetest still in De Jong I am told.}

08 Apr 2012 20:24:01
Hello eds. Who are the eds and how do you get all theese insider information? I know ed002 is a female and a Chelsea fan. But how come you know all theese things about LFC {Ed002's Note - Female?}

I think Ed002 is Bruce Buck. After all, how many American Chelsea fans can there be? ;-)

DP

Gab Marcotti?

Does it matter if the ed's are male or female? Regardless of gender they all do a great job with not much thanks from us!

Dear Ed's,

May I give a couple of suggestions for some new web pages? I would love to see a football tactics site, most of us on here think we could manage a professional football team! It would be interesting how people set would set their teams they support out, and hopefully would create diverse, mature discussion. Or perhaps a scouting web page? Either or both would be great additions to the growing empire!

I appreciate that you have enough on your plate already (I know the player profiles one takes a lot of time to modify/ add too), but as I said, it is just a suggestion.

Take it easy,

Rafa's Purple Goatie {Ed002's Note - I will pass it on. Not so sure that the scouting page would work but I am pretty sure an Ed or two would be happy to take on the tactics. The Ed dealing with the profiles does a nifty job.}

Ed please bring in the latest score page again if you can i am sick of waiting for flash sites to load up on my phone it would be a great addition i know many would use {Ed002's Note - I will pass it on.}

How about a 'Hunks of the Premier League' page? It would be awesome! Could vote on all sorts- who's got the trimmest torso, the kindest face, buffest thighs etc. Thoughts?

08 Apr 2012 20:03:02
I really don't understand how Suarez can possibly be a liability. Try thinking before ya post mate ;)

Martin
---------------------
Perhaps the fact that he got banned for 8 matches, refused to shake Evra's hand even though he said he would. Dives ALL THE TIME(yes I know Young dived today). He misses numerous chances every game and hasn't scored many goals. I would say he has been a flop.

G.A.G.U.S

Then would be wrong my dear GAGUS. he was banned 8 matches for a crime he did not committ and by virtue of a corrupt FA who prosecuted him without evidence. Why would he shake the hand of such filth as Evra - a man who has ruined his name in England and tainted his image?

I'd also like you to please point out 3 incidents in which Luis Suarez has dived without contact. And good luck to you on that hopeless venture.

Martin

The lobotomy was a success then I take it ? A pre requisite for all u poor deluded souls lol

Let us not forget Evra was the main culprit at the world cup when the French squad went AWOL

Then you don't know anything about football.

Can we all please get over the Suarez/Evra thing. Its gone on long enough now. Time to move on. Its just ridiculous that it gets brought up week after week.

Can I ask why Andy LFC goes on the Spurs, City, United, Arsenal, Newcastle, Everton and Chelsea pages trying to take the piss? You are in no position to act big against those fans, and you are embarrassing your own fans.

G.A.G.U.S

You really have become quite bitchy in my time away haven't you 'G.A.G.U.S'? What is even more amusing, is the level of hypocrisy, remind me who do you support? and which page is this?

Banter, or don't. Stop moaning.

Because of melbourne and gav always thrashing our site, and if I remember correctly, you too were once one of them ( though you stopped recently)

Hey Eds, any idea when the new home shirt will be unveiled? {Ed002's Note - Probably May.}

08 Apr 2012 19:30:07
Carroll will not be sold hell get at least one more season. Suarez I think will be tied down to a new contract with the assurances of new quality players coming in the likes of maxi, kuyt, aurrilio, jones, and fringe and youth players being moved on. Soldado and Lorente are not going to happen I'm afraid it will people that were not going to expect I think are business will be very hush hush. We need a right winger and out and out goalscorer and some quality squad back up players. I'm going to get slaughtered for this but I think we should go for Michael kightly and bring back joe cole kenny will be given one more chance then a fresh young manager will take over please stop with the 30mil plus sighnings not going to happen!

08 Apr 2012 19:16:42
Liverpool say they want to extend Suarez's contract in the summer, and Suarez also wants to do that, so why am i seeing all this about him leaving?!

Luis said he want's to stay a Red he made that public! i think the owner's are taking a bit of pressure off the sponsor's and if a substantial offer come's in they'll take it! maybe all this talk of "if Kenny go'es then i do" might just happen! 2 bird's one stone!

forget established but expensive players like cavani, soldado and all the british players, our scouts should be watching the copa libertadores unearthing the next balon d'or winner and signing him for £2m

Simple as.

In theory yes, but in reality it isn't easy. Aguero, Neymar, Lucas Moura, Ganso eyc have all/still play in S.A. Yes they're big names but they weren't always. Clubs know if they have a talent on their hands and charge European clubs the Earth. That's problem A, problem B is visa issues. Firstly if they have European decent, usually parents from Italy/Portugal etc then that can be easy, but if not then its tough to get working visas in England. If they're talented enough then you can apply for a talent based visa, but if they're talented then they're known and thus expensive. It's so hard to get players from those leagues to sign, settle and perform in England. Not all players have Lucas's will or work ethic.

I watched the game yesterday and started looking over other games. All I hear is we need a goal scorer and we will be ok. But what I have seen is ...... Maybe we need better supply as we waste too many good positions with poor balls. Ok Carroll is not as strong as his Newcastle days but how accurate has our balls been into the box. Stevie did ping some in early on but lets face it they were crying out for a target man, then when we bring him on we just pump high and hope better delivery more goals. Also in years gone by we have supported with the goals from other areas

Just a thought

Sweetcorn

Another thought for ya,were 28 points off the top,and 21 off the bottom, says it all really.

Sweetcorn,

To encapsulate all the views above, we run short of ideas when we are in the final third.....

I have said this before in this forum....I dont think we have added anything significant by bringing in Kevin Keen....We let go of Sammy Lee and he doesnt seem to be able to coach the players on how to move the ball around when in the attacking third.....

With new players like Downing, Henderson, Carroll, Adam, Shelvey and even the fullbacks (except Kelly), they all seem to run out of ideas when near the penalty area.....

Watch United...Two will hug the touchline...two others will be at the edges of the penalty box...two waiting in the box and one waiting outside the box for a 30 yard screamer opportunity....

they are usually successfully in getting the first goal which gives them the footholdin a game......

So , I am not sure they are being coached properly....Kenny is no coach...He is a manager who is excellent at man management, improving players indidually and creating a team spirit so essential and a very good tactician as well....But he is NOT a coach ....so we need an enforcement in that area

LiverBird

And i have just heard bruce grobellar (spelling) say the same about the supply to carroll

We need to sell Adam, Kuyt, Maxi and Aurelio and bring in a left back (obv. not a priority but backup needed), striker and two wingers.
Henderson should never play on right. Shelvey should stay in the squad (no room for Adam for me).
Vargas, Ramirez and Soldado makes sense. Another wide / attacking player would be a bonus (Hoilett, Munian etc).

Husni

You sound like you really know what you're talking about there, chap.

This season is feels so much worse than last season. I feel sick knowing its number 20 for them, and we are so far off! When will our time come! Depressed El Pistolero

Mancini is such an overrated manager!

He will be an unemployed manager shortly

Mancini is c*ap how can you not win the league with their squad.

To let balotelli stay after that first half, makes dalglish look like a tactical Master.

O totally agree, with tevez sat on the bench!

Mangers I would like to see at Liverpool:
.Brendan Rodgers
.Roberto Martinez
.Paul Lambert
.Steve Clark
.Atheltico Bilbao coach idk his name

But personally if i was the owners I would give Kenny untill January and if we are any lower than 5th sack him.

No. Forget Brendan Rogers.

He is another Hodgson.

"Hey look, Fulham has done alright, haven't they?"

"Woy got Manager of the Year?"

"Sign him up."

If we get rid of Kenny, then up the RAFALUTION.

We're having enough problems with one manager. Can you imagine what it would be like with five!
DM2012

Yes - let's keep going back and re-hiring former managers.

Worked out really well so far, hasn't it?

Thank goodness Balotelli doesn't play for us. What a liability!

You've got your own liability in Suarez.

I really don't understand how Suarez can possibly be a liability. Try thinking before ya post mate ;)

liverpool should sign a clinacel goalscorer like cardozo or cavani ect a let andy carrol go on loan and get his career back on track then he be ready for lfc life

Or let caroll be 3rd striker

On loan to boost his value and then sell him

08 Apr 2012 17:32:55
as much as i've willed carroll to start scoring i'm now 99% sure it's not going to happen.liverpool have created so many chances this season with a proven goalscorer even 10 goals (which would be the least you'd excpect) we'd probably be in cl contention. a top striker is a must but i'm not convinced the owners will spend big to make it happen

08 Apr 2012 17:21:36
Not a rumour, but a suggestion for Liverpool. I have been following Dortmund closely all year. Their midfielder Kagawa is a sparkling talent with speed, footwork, passing and an eye for goal. He has slight build, but seems durable. They already have strong midfield so may be tempted by an offer in the 20 million range. I think he could be a tremendous player.

Coop

He already is a tremendous player and I cant see Dortmund wanting to let him go any time soon. Him and Gotze are the reason for their strong midfield and he isnt struggling to get in the team.

Macca says Muniain and Soldado are targets- I have been extolling the virtues of Soldado as a targetman and goalscorer for many weeks now- Munian may be a touch expensive. But EDs do you think that Soldado will be the type of player Suarez can form a partnership with or will it be the case of Suarez playing off Soldado (if we get him) {Ed002's Note - I am by no means sure that they will ever have the opportunity to play together I am afraid.}

Regardless of opinions to the contrary, Luis Suarez is not for sale, is settled, and will probably signing an extension to his current contract. However, since it is unlikely that Soldado is going to arrive, it is unlikely that the two players will play together.

Ed it sounds like you heard something about suarez leaving? {Ed002's Note - Try the search function.}

Kompany's tackle on Walcott is one of the reasons Sterling isn't ready yet...He would have been snapped in half.

GuvTOB

...and we still wouldn't get a penalty!

08 Apr 2012 16:50:56
Liverpool have missed out this season and getting some quality goalscorers. Suarez for all his class doesn't score enough, and the likes Pappis Cisse who cost 7 million and Demba Ba Free Transfer, even the likes of Defoe who wouldn't of cost much and is sitting on the spurs bench week in week out! Even the lad at Everton Jelavic who we looked at and decided not to go for looks a real goal threat!! We spent a lot on 2 strikers who haven't even got 15 LEAGUE goals between them! Ba, Cisse, Defoe and Jelavic who would all cost a fraction what we paid for our two would of had 20+ this season with the amount of chances we have created!!!!!

Try not to get to upset lad.
People will start to think carrol had stood you up for a date.

ED, Just a thought regarding the neverending list of Pool summer targets

If we were to enter into negotiations/sign these players (forget the fees as we all know they will be huge) As we cant offer them CL football our only option is to offer these guys monstrous contracts (with possibly dodgy buyout clauses) and should we not qualify for CL again, be left with highly paid players who will be difficult to sell on.

On a lighter note, Martin Atkinson appears to have been a tad remiss with his interpretation of the dangerous tackle.

Can we please stop the bitter posts about Man U and referees, officials are not to blame for Liverpool's short comings this season. That buck stops with the players and the manager. That's not me saying we should sell certain players or sack Kenny but the poor form lies with them.
Its time we faced facts United are a better team and will be for a few more seasons yet, yes that hurts but its true. While they are challenging for the league next season we will be wishing for a top 4 finish and i can live with that for now, Liverpool are rebuilding after years of miss management by the previous owners and Rafa. Yes Rafa! The calls to have him back are baffling the argument is his got us into the champions league year in year out (for the most part) but the club were already there when he took over. Don't get me wrong Rafa should be respected for all he did for the club, especially the academy but his time has gone now let move on.

Now once Kenny's no longer manager weather that's at the end of this season as Ed002 suggests or further down the line the owners need to be brave and appoint a manager of their choosing with new idea, my choice would be Manuel Pellegrini but everyone has their own thoughts.

Also i see Macca has been good enough to give us another snippet of information regarding transfers and is already getting stick for it, he said they are targets not nailed on to sign so lay off and wait and see.
For now lets support the team as by the looks of things the players really need it, Blackburn will be a tough game they gave United a good run for their money on Monday and will be no push overs.

always a red

To be fair if the referees were consistant then Young would have been booked today the same as Saurez yesterday and United wouldn't have got the boost they needed.

Guys/Gals - do me/LFC community a favour..

Don't bother answering or acknowledging the clueless Shed End and Melbourne twits. Their page is a ghost town & therefore they're lonely(violins).

Chelsea = Europe not guaranteed for them yet. Barca will humble them in the Champs and Spurs will outclass them in the Fa Cup.

Just let them leave their comment - when no one replies, hopefully they will return to their wasteland, ala, Chelsea Banter Page.

Lee YNWA

Good post Lee. Lets see how long this little phase works. Although I don't see how we are the clueless ones, have you not seen who your fellow plebs think you will sign? Some even think you guys have already won the FA Cup. I just gotta add if we do, big if i know, but if we do beat Barca this page will feel violated but how many Chelsea boys come to say hi.

Melbourne CFC

You are not going to beat barca

(I know I'm responding!)

If you beat Barca, I will congratulate you of course - But I think they are too strong for anyone over two legs.

You, Melbourne, are certainly more mature and tongue in cheek than Shed or the Utd lot, hence my reply.

Good luck in the Champs. Maybe see you in the FA Cup final - who knows..

Lee YNWA

@Melbourne CFC - How does it feel to always qualify for the UCL but never actually win it - I bet your gutted every year it happens - still, keep trying or better still book yourself an Anfield Tour there's 30% off this Easter and there you'll be able to find 5 of them to look at.
KernowRed

I'm glad you realise most of what I say is tounge in cheek mate, nothing is meant as offensive. Your phase did not last too long though mate, i do have to commend you on the effort.

Would love nothing more than a Liverpool - Chelsea FA Cup Final. Well a Chelsea - Bayern CL Final but as you said it does seem very unlikely.

Melbourne CFC

Kernow mate I take it you haven't taken the tour yourself. It may surprise you to find out you didn't get to keep all 5 trophies. I guess it upsets me a little to watch us fall short each year, although I know it is only a matter of time. Those 3 league titles in the past decade have kept me smiling though. Gutted was going a bit far. I would be gutted to not make the CL and drift to like 8th on the table... that would leave me gutted.

Melbourne CFC

Lifes too short for childish behaviour, I'll be the first to admit.

I just get hot headed sometimes - this season is bringing the worst out of me tbh.

Lee YNWA

Well said Lee, it must be awful having to spend all day everyday on an opposing team page having little digs to make themselves feel better, this alone shows they feel in our shadow or why else would they do it, there're not on the Wolves or Boltons pages, it's just because we are still the most successful team in England and there're purile little digs just goes to prove it.

Would be better though if they could be a bit more inventive, they both say the same boring cr*p over and over again.

MR EM

There are 4 replica European cups and their is an official big ears to be enjoyed on the Anfield tour. It's the only European Cup in England and Britain to be precise. ;)

What joy would I get from going on the Bolton or Wolves page? I get so much more from hearing you comparing me coming onto this site as the same as going on those two rather than say Man City, Man Utd.

And you are not the most successful team in England Mr Em, you gotta get better at stats. Someone on your own page has said it themselves, Man Utd have won 55 trophies (im guessing they include this league title) while Liverpool have won 54. You know don't even have that little chestnut to fall back on.

It would probably feel a little awful (not entirely awful) if i was to come on this page, throw out abit of banter and get no response. But as has been proven on this post alone and you blokes can't help yourselves. That and people unlike Mr Em, see it as something other than abusing digs.

Melbourne CFC

Melbourne cfc
did you watch the kings of london today CL your having a laugh, lmao
trev the gooner

Actually melbourne, charity shields included we have won 59 trophies to uniteds 55 so that puts us 4 infront. Still the best team in England hehe

Ian the red

I actually like the idea of knocking Utd off 'their' perch tbh.

We haven't won the league in 22/23 years - so it was inevitable that Utd clawed their way in front.

Lee YNWA

That would leave me gutted.

Melbourne CFC

I'd pay good money to see that - I'd pay even more if I could personally do it!

Eds,
A few questions if u will plz
1. Whats the real reason why liverpool didnt get any players during winter?
2. Any interest in siem de jong...would make a lethal combination with luuk!
3. How do u rate matt phillips and what kind of winger is he?
4. What other positions are we looking to reinforce beside striker and wingers?
Thank u very much {Ed002's Note - (1) They tried but failed. (2) No. (3) I am not one to answer such questions. (4) Probably goalkeeper, possibly right back and/or left back, possible midfield. Much will depend on who leaves.}

it was only the other week that purple nose came out and said the facts say they dont get many penalities and look what happens today ,,,,,,,,,,mikeyb

Young was offside and should have been booked for diving - NO PENALTY!!
KernowRed

Surely if he was offside the booking would not have counted , just an offside decision (confirm anyone) ?

Qwerty

You know very well when blue nose speaks the officials take notice. Since he accused Surez of cheating and diving Surez rarely gets a free kick awarded.... What reason can the linesman have for not flagging for offside today when he was right up with play and looking directly along the back line, the same happened at Fulham last week. Blue nose influences the officials more than any other manager,he has slowly built this up over the years, apart from that the officials have been appaling this season and the FA need to get a grip... Lads, need some help with my Metro Fantasy footy team...

What are your thoughts re the Blackburn game? You guys think we'll go with a strong(ish) team or rest most for Wembley? (ie play some youth)

Gerrard, Suarez, Downing and Enrique - to play or not to play - that is the question!

Cheers,

Lee YNWA

I wouldn't select any Liverpool player for my Fantasy league, but if anyone than may be Suarez... are you mad to select all those, when playing fantasy you have to sacrifice your favourite players or club players, you have to choose player who are currently doing best, best teams..

I'm doing good thanks - but I have 'that' feeling when/if I drop them, they'll get 150 points! Haha

Considering our bad run of form recently...and our goalscoring problems of the season..The fact that we managed to equalize ...i was VERY happy.
I know that if we our struggling at home against Villa then we have some problems. But what can I do? I cant fire Kenny, hire Mourinho, give him loads of cash to hire world class players and suddenly we are the next Champions...if only.
Instead i will be supporting Kenny and all the players because I am just a fan anxious for his club.

Grow up son and stop making your purile little digs

MR EM

Mr EM once again you have failed miserably mate. If Arsenal lose today it would not change the fact that Tottenham are still only 3 points from us. If they lose then 4th is only 2 points from us with still a trip to the Emirates to come.

You guys are 4 points off 12th or something. Which is more points than we are off 4th, no matter the result today. That is exactly the reason fans such as myself find your position on the league table enjoyable. Nothing to do with jealousy and it makes perfect sense.

The trip to the arsenal is gonna be a loss, enjoy Europa with us. Hopefully we get into the same group as you, easy game for us then.

Hi Eds, just a question...Sorry if you've already answered. I just wanted to ask how much do you know about Caroll's behaviour and his attitudes towards the club (as mentioned by Macca). Thanks for all the info Eds. {Ed002's Note - We have no interest in gossip - try Hello or National Enquirer.}

08 Apr 2012 14:20:52
EDs - Do you agree that if the FA arent going to bring technology into the game, its time for them to look at retrospective decisions. I really can't stand players diving, I include Liverpool players in that, but i can't help thinking that if the FA handed a couple of bans out for diving here and there it would stop. I mean its all fair and well people saying decisions even themselves out, but todays dive has cost QPR any real chance of getting points in the midst of a relegation battle, whilst also handing Man Utd gift wrapped points. Incorrect decisions are one thing but conning decisions is just something that leaves a bad taste.. El Pistolero {Ed002's Note - It is a difficult area and one which caused great controversy when Eduardo's "dive" in a Champions League match for Arsenal against Celtic was punished and then overturned. We cannot go down a route that may subsequently result in claims for matches to be replayed. So if something is to be done, it has to be done in real time.}

I can't recall the Eduardo decision that well but i agree its not an ideal solution, but a solution nonetheless.

Simple really, if a player dives/cheats to get a decision and proved after the game by an 'independent panel', then that side should lose any points gained from that match, maybe even given to the opposition! It would soon sort out this problem wouldn't it? Oh and if the ref makes a bad error a couple of times, he has to re sit his refereeing course! Might sort out our refs then! Thoughts?

Keith {Ed002's Note - No, it would result in a series of court cases.}

08 Apr 2012 13:54:50
Just watching Man Us**ted on the box, did anyone see that disgraceful penalty decision and a red card to boot? If only we had the kind of luck they've enjoyed over the years, they definitely had us cursed in around 1991/2.

They 've had so many decisions going their way when they need it most, you have to stop and ask ist just down to luck? I am pretty certain if you told an Italian back in March 2006 about corruption in their football, he would 've just laughed at you.

Roy

Bulls**t does it even itself out over the course of a season, fergie. off the top of my head, i can think of three games where refs have given utd a massive advantage. 3-3 v chelsea- never should have had 2 pens. 1-0 v fulham, carrick brings down murphy, no pen. today; ashley young, offside, dives and qpr get a red.
you could argue theres around 3-5 points they would have dropped if the refs weren't bias. over the course of a season it makes a massive difference.

08 Apr 2012 13:50:52
we should have had 3 pens yesterday and didnt get 1, man u at home today get a pen for a player who was a mile offside, nuf said.

Agreed mate..it's also a clear dive..how the linesman doesn't put his flag up is beyond belief..but it's yet another 3 point assist from the officials as was the Murphy pen too..these so called professional officials need to be looked at.

So called professional players at Liverpool need to have a look at themselves as well and you might not be the laughing stock of the PL

i genuinly cant think of any.... gerrard sure but he wasnt signed. Reina? Agger at his peak maybe? eerr Risse..nope..hmmm lucas maybe if he keeps improving?

theres got to be more than that? any suggestions?

same with Dortmund, and few other european teams

You only named 1 that the OP didn't Lee. Hardly a few. Lift your game mate.

What about Chelsea Melbourne?

Similar numbers I reckon ..

Lee YNWA

Well i would think: Terry, Mata, David Luiz, Lampard, Ashley Cole would all be loved at one of the aforementioned clubs. After all Mourinho has said he would take Terry, Lampard and Cole at RM. David Luiz has been scouted by Barcelona (apparently). Mata is just class. Inter had an interest in Malouda at some stage (go figure) and seeing as though you guys get to add Torres, I will aswell.

Melbourne CFC

Well Riise was certainly good enough at his peak to play lb at most clubs in the world. And Glen Johnson could make the AC and Real teams. Not forgetting who the current Real Madrid right back is of course, so that's another three right there. Skrtel on top form would do the business for any top team.

Red Ollie

Reina, Agger, skrtel, masch, Lucas, alonso, aquilani, gerrard, torres, arbeloa, suarez, Enrique, meireles, yossi and at his peak riise. Not forgetting hyypia, sissoko, dudek.

At plonker disagreed with me? Aqualani plays for AC Milan!!

The Irish Rover

Lol? David Luiz? Real Madrid? Don't make me laugh. Mata is good, but teams are learning how to defend him and they have di Maria who is 5x better. Maybe terry. Not lampard. As they have kaka, Alonso, özil in that position. Nice team?

Post of the day. Although Carroll is only just keeping Adam at bay when it comes to your best player.

Melbourne CFC

Well, with such deep insight, and such a well constructed argument, I have to say... what a plonker! Nick.

What match you were watching dude ?

gerrards long balls were quality ,suarez was much better ,shows hunger and commitment . did he dive at all ?

collins

I am guessing this is sarcasm

Yes he did dive as always

Ever since Kenny Daliglish walked through the doors of Anfield he has always had the best interests of the club at heart. He is an idol for so many supporters, a true icon who has Liverpool FC running through him. Like so many fans I find the current situation difficult and looking for some positive signs that he can take us forward.

Watching the match yesterday was difficult. Yes we created chances, yes we could have had a couple of penalities but any decent side would have taken us to the clearners. The midfield was woeful. Villa seemed to be able to pass between us at will. The defence apart from Skrtel looked shaky. Here are a few questions:

1. Are we just suffering from a lack of confidence. A simple victory will turn our form around?

2. After spending huge sums on players are we confident that any future spending will be spent wisely. Players bought actually improving the side?

3. Are the owners actually interested in the club - Have not heard any support for Dalglish?

4. Has Dalglish got the bottle to drop Carragher for the semi Final now that Agger is fit?

5. For 60 mins fans around the ground could see we need to play 2 up fron. Suarez looks knackered. Can Kenny see it?

6. Fans around the ground could see after 30 mins yesterday that a change in formation was required. Yet still Kenny stood arms folded doing nothing. Changes at least were required at half time?

7. Ferguson and Wenger trust their youth. Sterling, Suso, etc Can Dalglish?

8. Do you see us currently at least challenging for the top four in the next 2 seasons?

Once we have the answers to the above, then maybe someone can make a decision abour Dalglish.

Redfish

4. i hope so

Eds just a quick question:

Are we the most stupid club in Premier League history?

Of course, this is a matter of opinion, but has anyone else had such a poor transfer policy that has reflected in how the team plays?
I can only think of Leeds and Newcastle, but it was complacency that led to them both going down a division and we haven't.
However, 35 million for a useless forward, selling Merieles and Aqualani who have gone on laughing to clubs playing in the champion's league and replacing them with completely inadequate players. We are also still paying some of the wages for players such as Poulsen and Cole, who won't be returning. We will presumably finish mid-table this season after a 2011 spend of 100 million, granted we made back 50 from the Torres sale.
So...are we?

We also got 12 for Meireles and 6 for Babel so we spent 32 million

Absolute gold mate. Keep up the good work.

Melbourne CFC

Sorry melbourne, I don't think they say mate in Australia. Your no longer allowed to say that. I'm very sorry.

Lads, get on this, you can get odds of 100/1 on Liverpool getting relegated next season, worth a fiver of anybodys money, il give you that one for free ;)

SHED END

Put it on a La Liga team winning the Champions league instead. At least you will get a run for your money! you prat

Come on no name there is only 4 teams left in CL and 2 are from La Liga. Thats a 50% shot. Ofcourse you have a better shot when Liverpool will be battling against atleast 5 other teams for relegation next year. Simple maths. Although I will be chucking $10 on Sheds bet.

Melbourne CFC

I wonder what the odds are for Chelsea to get another two managers in before the end of next season?

Well we have had 2 actually managers instated since the beginning of the 2010/2011 campaign. How many have Liverpool had again?

Melbourne CFC

Melbourne, you reckon there's a 50/50 chance Chelsea will beat Barca? xD

Red Ollie

Does it matter what percentage chance I think we have? Did you think Wigan had a 50/50 chance to beat you at Anfield? Did Man City or Arsenal think Swansea had a 50/50 chance to beat them in Wales? Did you think at 3-0 down against AC you had a 50/50 chance to win that final. If you were to tell me the difference on paper between Swansea and Man City is less than that between Chelsea and Barca i think you should visit a health care professional.

You see something I picked up from Liverpool fans was you support your cluba and believe in your players no matter what. Something you fella's have forgotten from reading comments on this page.

Melbourne CFC

@Melbourne CFC

90% of posters on here still go to school mate. They don't know the meaning of support, or belief.

Stone YNWA.

Lmao? Chelsea fans are more blind that I thought! Lmao you think you'll win anything anytime soon? Because of mourinho, you won something. But apart from that, lol! It takes a miracle to help you win anything. One trophy less season and your owner goes crazy. There's 0% chance you'll beat real never mind braca.

Ok no name, it was all Mourinho, remind me again who won Chelsea the double. Who came in when Scolari got sacked to win us the F.A Cup? It takes a miracle? A miracle is you lot ever regaining ground on any of the top 5/6 teams. A miracle will be you lot getting through Europa group stages, or holding on to your 1 or 2 decent players next year. Get a grip mate, I take it you are one of the school kids Stone is referring too buddy. You gave it away with the lmao.

Now that fourth place is pretty much unattainable, do you see the younger players becoming more involved in the league games we have left to play? Who would you like to see get more chances? For me It's Sterling and Suso.

Yesterday was as good as time as any and as usual we stuck with the old guard carragher, kuyt etc, the only reason flanno is in is because of injuries. So my guess is no.

08 apr 2012 11:51:50
im really glad our two top targets are munian and soldado, if they come to fruition i will be truly delighted. these last 8 games of the season i hope we decide to play in a better style, maybe a formation of.
3 cetre backs with coates, skrtel, agger then
4 midfielders with gerrard,coady,henderson,downing
1 playmaker with adorjan
2 forwards with suarez,kuyt.
i believe coady is a much better dm than spearing.

next year with new signings we could have a team like this.
reina coates skrtel agger ramirez gerrard lucas phillips suarez soldado munian in the same formation

08 Apr 2012 12:17:11
you lot must be feeling a little bit fed up with queen kenny now? first he buys carrol for 35 million and suarez for 22 and in total they only got 17 goals between them in 76 games between them, ouwch! but told jelavic and demba ba they wont have what it takes to suceed in the prem, errrmm ba free and has scored 17 in 28 and jelavic has 6 in 8, 3 of which where sub appearences, good luck in the semis ay boys ;) oh and join the petition to keep kenny at analfield for years to come, huddersfield away in 4 years for you lot ha

How many has Torres scored??

08 Apr 2012 12:11:59
Do any of u remember the post last year from 'macca' he stated we would sign;

Benzema
Young

Now in not saying this kid isnt right some of the time but your all jumping to concluusions that Soldado and Muniain are gunna sign just cause Macca said so just take a realistic look Munian 40million price tag liverpool wont pay that an i dont beleive liverpool
Would sign soldado without selling carroll and i think kennys to stubborn to sell the geordie gypo
Cheers ed

I can't remember macca ever saying we would sign Benzema or Young

He certainly did say we would buy Benzema and Young and one of the Eds said that Young would go to ManU and Benzema would stay at Real. Formby Jake

He said they were targets you muppet- no deal is ever nailed on until there's a signature on paper.

Macca can't make the player sign, and many times these complicated deals fall through.

If it was up to whinging d**ks like you, the likes of Macca would never post here, and we'd have no reliable indications at all about signings.
Is that what you'd prefer, you clown? Get a f****ing grip.

Things can change, contracts and players all have to agree, not just on sum of money .but how many did he get right? lay off if you have no better inside information. not sucking up, just grateful for someone with no agenda not writing crap in a b****cks paper.
aussiepol tristan

Macca chats pure breeze man.

I find it unbelievable that his "inside info" is allowed to be posted on here yet the eds moan and groan when people ask millions of question in reference to what he says.

There's nothing Macca says that you will not find in the media, he probably works in journalism or has a friend in journalism, thats all.

The fact he knew nothing about Henderson proves he has no inside connections. And yes he did say it was likely Benzema was coming which is the biggest load of foolishness I've ever heard.

And yes he did say Young was "nailed on" when anybody with more than 2 brain cells could tell he was always going Man Utd.

Maccas track record is abysmal. Do not bash me for being "negative", im just keepin it ghetto and real. I watch and listen to everthing he says and only about 2% materialises....he cannot deny this.

What he does now to protect himself is talk in riddles and leave what he says open to interpretation..."we're gonna sign a player from la liga" oh yeh that really narrows it down.

Type in Macca in the search function and then write down all the players he thought were coming and you will see he is no more accurate than some of the other posters.

There are a couple of posters on here that are almost always spot on but the eds are so thick and mesmerized by Macca that they do not see it, boneheads.

Macca was also the first one to tell that Torres would be leaving.....and also abt Andy Caroll joining..
Macca has credible information....so thanks to him...

PANKAJ

He's (Macca) defo an ex player or close to someone at LFC.. Coates is another example.

Keep up the good work Macca.

Lee YNWA {Ed002's Note - He is not an ex player}

Well I'm truly stumped then..

Cheers for blowing my mind Ed002 :p

Lee YNWA

He's a current player ;-0

Okay so 2% of his " information " is accurate. 98% is WRONG

Clearly the Eds know that he is connected to the club somehow but have been sworn to secrecy...I reckon they should out him. ( not as a homosexual of course, clearly he should do this of his own accord )

Why else would they give him his own page and blindly defend him on here every single day when 98 percent of what he says is totally and utterly redundant?

Why do they deem everyone elses input on here as "twitter nonsense" or "fantasy rumours" but treat Maccas words as absolute gospel when he is hardly ever correct? They are clearly partial to information that us mere pedestrians are not.

He could be an ex player as everytime a poster says that he is; one of the eds makes a herculian effort to tell us that he's not.

Anyway whoever he is, he does not impress me with his info in the slightest...has anybody not noticed that when he gives us any news that does actually materialise, it always breaks in the mainstream media a day or two later?

He never declares something and then it hits the media a month later or a week later, its always a day or 2 in advance and thats very telling **strokes chin inquisitively**

There are posters on here that said Torres had a bust up with some senior players and would be leaving and they confirmed this many days before macca did but I dont see them with their own page or hollywood star, in fact all anybody did was point and laugh at them.

The only thing Macca can claim that nobody knew about was Coates, other than that he's a total waste of blood cells.

Im all for free speech and all that martin luther king balony but my gripe with Macca is that he's got his own page and gets preferential treatment over all the other posters. It creates high expectations everytime he says something and this just is not the way forward.

F*** it, to be honest the guy makes me wanna eject the contents of my stomach through my mouth...on a regular basis.

Hi ED'S..
This is the first time I'm posting I wid love a reply,iv watched liverpool all my life and I no its easy for us as fans to judge this season some of u guy talk as if Kenny wants us to be in this situation we haven a really bad season face it and just stan by our club and show the support that they need in this tym,as for my questions..is Soldado a replacement for Suarez (1) and could u see us going in the market for someone like(2) Tino costa from valencia the guy is really good and quality on the ball something that we missin in our mid..and I really don't see why no one bids for this guy its his passing and trw balls that we are missing..
Thanks guy for all your hard work and for the guys wu try and give us there info..Yan from South Africa {Ed001's Note - no Soldado is not a replacement for Suarez. I have no idea about Tino Costa sorry.}

Sick of hearing get behind the team, support the manager ect ...... No, sorry but not anymore. The
Plays have no hunger, passion or desire bar 3 or 4! Or they are blatantly crap. What makes it worse is the manager keeps coming up with one excuse after another. Face it these people are not good enough to step onto the famous anfield pitch never mind represent Liverpool fc. Granted we have new owners but they should really look at what has gone wrong this season. Personally for me we get rid of half the squad and bring in frank rijkaard. I think if we would have given him over a 100 million he would have done a much better job. Also I think he would have got Torres to stay.I don't care what any fan says. We haven't looked anything special since he left

If we hadn't sold Torres, Meireles, and Babel ,we couldn't have spent 100 million. Another Joker.

Torres wasn't interested for the last half season- he was crap, and so were we, and if you remember we were all making up excuses for his poor performances the whole time.
He'd already made up his mind in January, because he felt he was lied to, and he wasn't going to change it.
What is it with you moaners?
At least get your info right.

So don't support Liverpool then.

08 Apr 2012 12:05:56
What's the chance or us swapping Andy Carrol with Either Demba BA or Cissie as i think either of them are better than Carrol and Carrol does want to go back to Newcastle.

Why wud newcastle want that donkey back? they will be looking for a top4 finish next season, not a relegation battle.

Fact of the matter is we're at home against struggling teams and we play one up front, with our usual predictive approach. I was worried 5 games ago. Now I'm disgusted! Better position than we were last year? Don't make me laugh!

08 Apr 2012 11:39:38
At the beginning of the minute silence for The 96 yesterday a number of the Villa fans started shouting and jeering before they were shut up by the rest of us and the stewards. Ed do you know whether this will be looked into?

Here is my thoughts on outs.

1, Aurelio - 750.000
2, Doni - 750.000
3, kuyt - 1.85 mil
4, Cole - 2.75 mil
5, Maxi - free
6, Carroll - 20 mil
7, Suarez - 32 mil
8, Johnson - 12 mil

I think that Spearing, Shelvey, Sterling, Coady and wilson will get loan deals for more experiance.

So total out - 70.1 mil

In's.

1, Holliet - Free
2, Soldado - 18-22 mil
3, Munian - 17 - 19 mil
4, De Jong - 12 mil

and a few more young talented players moving in. 5mil

So total in - 58 mil

Team for new season

1, Reina

2, Kelly 5, Enquire
3, Agger 4, Skertel

6, Lucas 7, De Jong
8, Henderson 9, Downing

10, Soldado 11, Munian

Subs,

Gerrard
Bellamy
Coates
Holliet
Adam
Flanagan
Carragher

Kelly is not good enough as 1st choice right back

Every time someone lists the players to be sold they always give nonsense valuations. The amounts we can realistically expect are as follows:
Doni free
Aurelio free
Maxi (not sure his contract status) Free if it is up, 1-2M if not (wages high)
Kuyt 1m wages high
Carroll 5m wages high and has gone backwards
Johnson 10m wages high and too inconsistent

Eds would you agree or am I still being too generous? It alarms me that we have only got rid of joe cole and poulsen by paying all/some of their wages.

lol macca u better get the paper work done for those two signings otherwise ure gonna cop alot of s**t aha

thanks for the info macca :D

"A Footstep from Comolli"

In "The Quest of Julian Day" by Denis Wheatley, our hero, the determined young Julian Day spends much of the book being pursued across the Egyptian desert. It is the 1930s and he is hunted by white slave traders, Nazis and fiendish Arabs (sounded like a night pub-crawling in Camberwell to me!) to the pyramids. He is searching for the treasure of the lost legion of Cambyses (similar to getting closer to being "just three minutes away from the lower rate" with Vodafone!) and it reminds me of where we are now. No, not Egypt, but in the hunt for the lost points of King Kenny.

My personal 'Road to Domestos' took place last week. I thought about it and then thought again; I've been asking what KK has been doing for weeks now. I may now know in my own mind. Like Julian Day, KK has a mission and although his is not to kill the evil O'Kieff and escape the shifting sands, there is a similarity. There is a renewed vigour about KK - his eyes are brighter and his tone more open and dare I say it - PR friendly?

The FSG boys have asked the questions and maybe KK has come up with the answers. Many of those answers (like the one in the book - why does everyone feel there is doom on the horizon?) come late on. My awakening came when I thought that KK was at peace with his position. We are heading for two possible cup wins this year - hang the league position. As Julian Day allowed the baddies to escape the SS Hampshire knowing he would eventually find them, maybe KK is on the same lines: mid-table is okay if we can walk away with silverware. The fans are crying and shouting from the wings, but the passion play unfolds before our eyes as KK and SC plot the way to a quiet PL end. "It'll be alright on the night in August 2012" I hear them say.

The devious mind of Zakri Bey and O'Kieff were not enough to halt Julian Day and maybe Kuyt, Spearing, Johnson and Carragher will follow suit? Time waits for no man and not even Methuselah - the man good old 'arry would call "the boy Methuselah"! As Dirk Kuyt ponders next season, so is KK safe in the knowledge that he will now get that extra season. The school report has been sent to the headmasters in Boston. The fans are realising it is a little more a 400 metre race than a 375 one ...... but there might be grounds for optimism.

As the Nazi Junkers plane swept low over the pyramid that Julian Day was escaping from you thought, "Cripes! Jolly bad way to die old boy!" No fear, page 88 gave me the clue. Perhaps the clue for KK is that he will have more money at the end of the season. Thing is, like the treasure of the lost legion of Cambyses, there is no assurance it really will end up with riches for someone. Perhaps we will have to bite the bullet on a few big signings and cut our losses?

We need a striker (I've said it before - along with stating that "Lovejoy" should be revived with George Clooney playing Tinker) and a runner similar to Suarez. I'm not going to write an very long post today (sic) by adding in one of those masturbatory wish lists that infest the site. What I will say is that we need a right winger similar to a top class Downing on the right. By top class Downing, I mean someone on the right who can do it more than four times a season.

As Julian Day walked across the sands and finally had O'Kieff in his sights, so KK has our faith in his. I have changed and so has my faith in the club. If the sands do shift and swallow up the baddies, then let's make sure only the bluenoses and Sir Axel walk across Ainsdale beach!

Steve Parker

If / when Kenny does leave LFC. Theres only one choice of manager who i would like:

RODOLFO BORRELL

He would be a great manager. His philosophy and tactics are fantastic. He coached half of barcas first team in their youth days. Hes the only man who could bring our younsters through, and at the right time. Hes brought most of our younsters who are ready for first team, right though our whole youth system. He knows their strenghs and weaknesses. Hes worked his way up the age groups and is now reserve manager. Maybe theres a plan already to make him future manager.
But when kk does leave i belive he should be manager.

Yours thoughts everyone? ED's?

Harry5:)YNWA

I think most people on here would agree with when I say it would be much better to keep him with the kids.
InTheKnow

I would certainly like to see him promoted to be Kennys assistant

He's a fair age! Has he ever managed a first team before? If not, why not? Maybe he's happy coaching the kids!

The Irish Rover

Graeme Souness would be fantastic

All fellow Reds, I know it is tough times at the moment, but please remember the words to our anthem, "at the end of the storm..." do not forget the likes of the belting players coming through e.g. Sterling, Coady and Wisdom, to name a few) - It will be a proud day for us all if we reach the Pinnacle of the english league, and by doing it the proper way (i.e. not like chelsea or city) but remember we are the 12th man and that must always remain... we are the best, let us once again make anfield a cauldron of atmosphere and support and not angst and negativity or fear. YNWA.

*CLICHE ALERT*

What do you mean by the proper way,, By bringing in talented players through our youth system?
I'm all for that but we can't use that as an argument and say thats what we're doing when we just spent 70+ million on 3 average players (carrol, hendo, downing)

Yes, fair play it is a bit cliched, but the sentiment is clear. There is way to much negative talk about our current team. We need to support our current infrastructure and keep our fingers crosses for a win at the weekend. In all honesty I thought Carroll was a good signing at the time at obviously a bad price!! But you have to consider it along with the fact that we got a massively inflated price for Torres!

08 Apr 2012 10:35:04
I went to the game yesterday and i thought we started the game far to slow. I just think when Suarez is upfront by himself its that we never occupy there back four too much as Luis is not disciplined to play that role. At least when Carroll came on we have somebody to aim for in the box and to occupy there centre backs.

I dont like having digs at players but can anybody tell me whats happened to Enrique he was poor yesterday and should of been hooked earlier. Agger made a big difference but we need in the centre with skrtel. I would not play enrique in the semi he as just lost it recently and his crossing is very poor. Lets hope johnsons fit and i would play him left with Kelly right. Also Shelvey kept on hiding and left Henderson with no options to pass to.

Positives from yesterday was Henderson i thought he had a really good game because its his natural position but didnt get too much help from shelvey and gerrard who was quiet. I also like Flanno and i thought he had a decent game and is always getting better alot to work with there. I also thought that Doni looks a confident keeper and i dont have too many worries about him.

We dont seem to be able to force goals when we need them. I think that we are not too far away from the top four but my god the players in the summer have got too be real quality to make the rest play better.

Mighty reds

ED002 clearly knows naff all about whats happening at LFC. According to this deluded person LFC are skint, Saurez is leaving, dalglish is getting the bullet. ED002 has never, ever got any transfer prediction right. Not 1....Ed oo2 you have zero credability

Bill S

What an ungrateful idiot. Would YOU give up your time voluntarily to run a website when people were making comments like yours?

You may not agree with his/her opinions, but have a bit of gratitude for the graft that goes into this, and the sharing of info. {Ed002's Note - The world is full of dumb MFs - but thanks for the efforts.}

I agree with you but who really knows, i think ed 002 might be a bit of a wined up merchant.

gee man {Ed002's Note - More glifnards coming out of the woodwork then.}

Its rumours......hes/she/it is not meant to get it right, all the eds have their own opinion and they are not biased in anyway, so be thankfull {Ed001's Note - people only like you having an opinion when it matches their's apparently....}

How dare you insult ED002 ?...she is a legend on this site and just because ED001 is her seamstress-master thats still no excuse.

All the EDS do a brilliant job on here and I for one love their banter, especially ED002.....so leave her alone and try picking on us big boys for a change :-)

Tel 1949

Its gone so downhill for you jokers that ed002 is now a target? Bill ya muppet you think ed002 has not gotten any predictions right? She told us Anchellotti would be sacked at the end of last season at Xmas. Has informed us that Higuan has been offered to Chelsea if we bow out of the race for Cavani. Had told us Anelka would be sold long before AVB sent him to train with shadows. You my small knobed friend do not know a thing.

Her job is not to give you any information, it is merely an added bonus, the eds do this for free, and without them these sites could not exist. Not to mention that Ed002 introduces terms such as glifnard to your vocab. Also look at the facts this season, LFC are skint, Daglish is most propably getting the sack at the end of the season, with no CL football Suarez could well leave. Which prediction she gave you (if she even did) has been proven false?

All these jokers slagging off every performance of late want to try going down the ground and getting behind the team.We should have won yesterday, but we as fans,we can't point the finger at lack of effort. Some fans are witch hunting players, and Kenny,Why.Henderson had a great game yesterday,if you don't believe me,try switching on the full replay on LFC TV,and study his performance. He passed the ball well, and they weren't just 5 yrd side way, and backward passes. He showed pace to cover in the defence,he won headers and challenges in the middle of the park. He made lung busting runs. Watch the game again then tell me he was S***e. Imo he 's a future star for this club, as he has absolutely everything in his make up.Watch the injury time period, one minute he wins a tackle and crosses a dangerous ball into the box and then he cleans up in a 4 against 2 break away at the other end.Henderson played well in the centre midfield yesterday, and given more time to develop in that position will be a class act.

Jiminy Cricket

Ok Mr. Henderson, we get the picture regarding your son

The first time he has played in his proper position was outstanding. will be moved to the wing now. also noticed downing on the left his proper position was crossing at every oppurtunity more of the same please.

Criticising the team after their worst form in 50 years does not make you a joker!
If you think Jordan henderson is the future star on ANY club then you are the one who is havin a laugh!!!

Dalglish's tactic's were awful yesterday as they have been all season!
Taking Downing off (who was the only one supplying any desent crosses) and then bringing Carroll on just doesnt make any sense!
Yes, we should of won yesterday like you said but we DIDN'T,,thats the point!!

Yes, Downing was crossing at every oppurtunity,,, when Carroll wasnt on the pitch,, then Downing is brought off and Carroll brought on????
Shocking!!
Dalglish's tactics and substitutions are all over the place!

Ok Mr No Name. I would be proud if he was my son, as he comes across as being a really nice lad as well as being a skilled footballer. He's 21 give him a chance to develop.I suppose you where one of the fans who give Lucas stick as well. You're not a true watcher of football if you can't see Hendersons potential.

Nobody can be happy with the results this season, but we have out played all the top teams at home.I can call fans who criticise the team Jokers if they can't see that it's not for the lack of effort. Our squad as been proved to be not up to the challenge in the league. We do need a Aldo or Fowler type finisher.Having a pop at players because they are on the team sheet and we haven't won the game is having a laugh. I would bet my mortgage on you watching match of the day seeing Henderson have to long range efforts miss their target,if you was at the game like myself, you would have seen that he had a excellent game in the middle of the park, then you wouldn't come on here and slag him off.I wouldn't be the only Liverpool fan to think that you're a joker.

Jiminy cricket

I gotta agree with ya mate I thought Henderson had a good game and I think he has everytime he has played centre mid ,he was switching the play well, picking out some nice passes he needs to be a bit more agressive in the tackles though but I think he will turn into a great player in the future ,and I gotta say shelvey was picking out 40 yard passes for fun yesterday his best game in a lfc shirt, but the one thing i will say is im gutted Raheem sterling isn't playing he terrorized Wigan for the ten minutes he was given ,surely if U come on a freighten defenders you should atleast be on the bench again and get another run out ,especially with the results we been gettin

Eds - is there any way for you to automaticaly block all posts with the word 'Rafa' in them? Apart from this one.
I bet all of the ones who want him back have been left by their wives a few years ago and are unable to accept it. C'mon fellas, get back on the boat it's time to move on.

Well! perhaps its ecause we've struggled to move on since he has left. We've gone towards the wrong direction with way much more spending. whoever would be our Wmanager, I just hope, we'd be doing much much better. YNWA

Just thought I'd write a post to everyone slagging off macca...

He comes on here to give us info on what he knows and gets slated.

He has told us who he believes are the main targets for the summer , whether they come or not is out of his hands.

These are players which could have upto 10 clubs after there signatures.

Last summer he told us we where after ashley young and Phil Jones , which we where.
Last minute they chose the spam.

So just lay off him guys he's only telling us what he knows...

LAVERS

Well I find some of Maccas posts deeply offensive and way off the mark!

I got back from the pub late last nite and was disgusted when I read some of his posts!

There is no chance of forth place, and we have already qulaified for Europe so, why are we not throwing in a couple of these potentially world class youngsters we all keep hearing about?
Souso, Coates, Sterling etc Play them - Can they do any worse than certain players at the moment? Whats the worst that can happen?

Wise up people!........
Commoli made over half these signings, he at least pushed for them, thats his job so lets ease off KK,
from where im sitting i can only really see how Adam was a KK signing, Carroll was done so late in the day it cant have been a KK rush job surely Commoli had that one nailed behind the scenes,
Aside from that ANYONE can see the football we play at times is awesome to watch, what do you want?...I know it would be great to be in the top four but do we really want the defensive play that Hodgson brought to us?........I dont think so
Every man and his whippet can see were short of one maybe two creative midfielders and the same for top level strikers and we'd be battering teams,
Im sure we'll be looking in the window to strengthen and if we convert half the chances weve made this year we'll be bang there,
have some patience and think on, next year all these so called 'flop' signings people keep quoting will have another year on their backs at LFC and will have had time to settle, if next year dosnt produce then we need to panic but not right now.
YNWA JFT96 The Guv 81-9

{Ed002's Note - The final say from a footballing standpoint rests with Dalglish for all senior players.}

How is our football good to watch? the build up is so slow we just keep possession and do nothing with it and the chances we create mostly arent good ones

I have jusst read thru some of Macca's posts lately. He doesn't hold Carroll with very high regard, concerning his attitude or lack of it. Is this true? Has anyone else heard this. Ive always supported Carroll, but if he is getting on like a d#ck then surely he has to be sold, regardless of losing money.

Great site and love the rumours and banter on here.
I go to every home game and a couple of away games a season and I am increasingly shocked this season. Not by the way we are playing or the team itself, but by some of the comments coming from so called fans on here. Everyone is right to have an opinion but we have gone through a massive period of instability and infighting over recent years and we must remember that.As a kid I was brought up to support Liverpool no matter what, to get behind the team, to encourage young players coming through especially when things are not going well for them. This is what always set us apart from other teams, we support them in the face of adversity. Some people are now calling for Kenny to be sacked, what good would that do? we need stability now more than ever, and that includes supporting a man who has given everything he could to this club. This was never going to be a season that we won the league, it was always going to be difficult to get a champions league spot this year, and it was more about getting some stability, building the foundations and starting again for the future, while I have been as frustrated as anyone with the run we have been on and the league results, I can actually see that there is a base that is emerging. Lets see where we are in two or three years. If we win two cups this year then we have actually done well regardless of money spent, think about the bigger picture. We need to keep getting behind the team after all We are Liverpool.

If you're going to disagree to that, have the b4lls to put your name to a response!

My thoughts on game with Villa:
1) Stevie G should play on the right side of midfield.
2) The return of Agger had a huge impact on the game, much more adventurous play and desire
3) Henderson needs more time certainly, but hes got to start making an impact in games very soon or he may miss the boat. He was a passenger yesterday for me and in the position he has been played, he is having no reeal input to the team
4) Our midfield looked very inexperienced yesterday. Both shelvey and hendo are not prem class at the moment. I think KK should play maxi to give more class in this key area of the pitch
5) Skrtl was immense yet again. He has developed into a major asset since Kenny came back, probably due to confidence being shown in him.
6) We are missing Kelly / Johnson. they give us more width, but young Flanno is coming on really well. He didnt let us down yesterday and is showing real maturity, Im sure he will be a real asset in the future.
7) I thought we missed spearing yesterday, and as a holding midfielder he is currently the only one we have. His tackles and distribution are certainly adding more than hendo or shelvey did yesterday. Out of the three I would go for spearing, but we still need a world class player in that position, which none of them are at the moment.
8) Doni played well and the goal against us was a brilliant strike, we should have no problems in Pepes absence hopefully.

I thought the determination showed in the last 15 minutes was admirable and you could see the players move up a gear. That is the sort of spirit they must show in every game, but for 90 minutes !

Despite the bad run of form that we have had, we are at last showing some signs that we can get back to being a decent side again. We just need to show the whole world that we are behind our team and will support them through thick and thin.

Shankly would expect no less of Liverpool supporters and neither should our King

Lets stop all this moaning guys, if you love our club as I do, then start showing it instead of the constant whingeing. I appreciate that everything isnt rosy and that you are all entitled to voice your opinions, but remember that the players read these posts, they are human beings too and need our support NOW !

Cmon you reds !

Keep the faith

A creative midfielder and striker who can score is all we need

Evered

I admire your optimism and on paper that's true, but in reality our squad needs much more development. Now I hate to compare us to them but United have three put and out wingers and five strikers. Yes they are shocking in the centre of midfield but they seem to score enough goals with that combination of players. We have one winger in Downing and technically four strikers including Kuyt and Bellamy. In my opinion Kuyt and Carroll are going and at least need replacing by say De Jong and hopefully Soldado.

Bellamy needs to be used as an impact sub and quite sparingly so either we buy another two wingers e.g Munain and Philips or we buy one and promote Sterling/Silva or both. That to me is three possibly four signings, we then need a new centre back, perhaps a more creative midfielder and a strong defensive midfielder. Again perhaps youth may work with Kelly switching to centre back, Suso joining the first team etc but judging that they aren't deemed ready for ten minutes here and there now, I doubt they can play regular football next season.

Papa G

And a new manager

And a winger!!

The biggest difference between the spam and us is they have world class manager, we dont. Fergie brings out the best in average players, kenny cant even get quality players to score a couple of goals.
Indian Buzzer

Oh yes Indian Buzzer! Fergie was really world class all those years ago when he hung onto his Utd job by his fingernails while clowns similar to yourself called for his head on a plate.

just a quick question to all if kenny does step down who would everyone like to see as are new long term manager i hear people say martinez, rodgers, oneil etc none of which would an ideal replacement.we need a strong minded manager one who will implement his own ideas and imbitions for me it would be joachim loew the german coach he has totally changed the way the germans play great style n flair exactly what we need.

I think ed 001 could be onto something with this bielsa bloke read into him a bit this morning and the fella is a total football nut intagrates youngsters into his team at every opportunity whilst playing with pace and freedom he's not too bothered about the spending of money ticks all the boxes for fsg anyway slight draw back is he doesn't speak much English but he seems a very intelligent man so he could sort that problem pretty quickly Iam sure

At the beginning of the season I posted that we will be in trouble this season with signings like downing, Adam etc and got abuse from othe fans when I said kk is not the right man for the job. Kk has had his time(and that was 1989!) we are 4 points of 12th place and slightly better than Stoke, Norwich and swansea whilst spending over 100million on garbage. Truth is kenny should be sacked. We could have been signing guys like Sissosko, sakho and llorente but for the same money bought Henderson, Carroll etc. and we are worse than this time last year. Newcastle gt relegated a few years ago bit even they have a better squad than us due to so acute signings. To think we are anything but a very average side is deluded to say least. The people to blame are the arrogant fans who are living on past glories of almost 30 years ago and continue to think we are a big club. Absolute nonsense and shame on all of yous

Ignore this depressing crap- it has to be a manc

08 Apr 2012 08:50:28
Please can we settle this for once and for all.

Caroll, Henderson and Downing are all Comolli's signings

All this nonsense about "ah but Kenny has the final say" is total rubbish. He may well have to put his signature on the bottom of a piece of paper stuck under his nose by Comolli
When Kenny asks what other choices do I have the answer is NONE as all the other targets young/jones/mata/bent/Defoe etc are not available

The only signing I believe Kenny truly pushed for was Adam

All other signings were forced upon him where he had no other viable option

Kenny also has virtually no say in the signings and sales of academy players

Once the fans grasp this simple concept - half of these anti-kk posts will disappear

Leam Red

And you know this how?

Just listen to the kk and dc interviews on the topic
Read how Lfc are now set up by fsg

We are not like united where saf has 100% say nor like Chelsea where RA runs the club

Hi, I just wanted to write to say when is KD gonna lay into the players. I understand you defend them as much as possible but they have let him and the club down. I don't want KD to go and I do believe he will be given next season to turn it around but there are a few decisions he make that I don't understand. Why in jan when we knew Lucas was out did he not get in a replacement? Why did we not get someone on the right to provide Carroll with some service and why now is he not giving Sterling a chance? As for the signing KD has made I can say that Enrique has been good, Saurez has been great but brings a lot of trouble and I honestly believe Carroll will come good when he gets some service. But Adam is not mobile enough, Downing needs to perform to a high standard week in week out and not a good game every 6. And for Henderson, we got mugged off there! I think looking at the signings he has made this may bring doubt from the board weather KD is trusted with there money. I hope he does turn it round but I think we need a strong, simple holding midfielder, an attacking right and left midfielder and a player like mata/silva who links up with 2 strikers and can also provide us with a few goals. Are we linked strongly with any players in those areas?

Hi to all fellow Kopites,
I have been following Lfc for almost 40 years and KK is my footballing hero. Not just for what he's done on the pitch, but more importantly for what he's done off it. I can understand the fans are frustrated but the abuse and the insults KK is getting is beyond a joke. Yes by all means we the fans have a right to vent our anger and frustrations at the team and the manager. But when fans start to get abusive towards KK then for me they are fans that we can do with out. I hope to god for the sake of the ledgend that is KK we can win the FA cup. That's when KK should move up stairs with his pride and status still in tact. Things just haven't worked out the way we all hoped. Lets face it they say a manager is only as good as his signings and KK has got them terribley wrong.

I'm not going to comment on yesterday's game as in reality our season ended when Van Persie put 2 past us! However, as I've said before, I do not want Kenny to leave.....saying that I am aware that the worse the situation gets, the less likely he is to stay

Whatever the outcome, please bring us the FA Cup! Then we will see what happens from there

Ps, fingers crossed for any perspective deals to be done before the end of the season and/or the Euros

Why do people keep saying bring Rafa back. He wont work with a director of football, he moaned about it at Valencia and at Inter. Since we went to the trouble re-organise our scouting system it would be pointless to fire Comolli.

In addition to that I think Rafa would moan if there is no money to spend and he is not exactly 'liked' by any of his playing staff and some of his backroom staff as well. Good coach, thats it.

Ridiculous refereeing yesterday. Chelsea score 2 offside goals and we have 2 stonewall penalties turned down. We haven't had the breaks at all this season

Red Ollie

Can't blame this for your season.....you make your own luck a lot of the time....simple fact is you haven't been good enough over the season

Now its the refs fault why you are crap?..how about the one he never gave them? perhaps if your players were not seen as simulators , the refs would look on these decisions more favourably...now stop moaning and feeling sorry for yourselves...its time to get a grip boys..

Not blaming our poor league position on anything other than the performance of the players, they should be able to step up their game when needed. But having come up against some unbelievable goalkeeping performances, having hit the woodwork 10 times more than any other club and having had some refereeing performances like the one yesterday, this has been one of our unluckiest seasons in living memory

Red Ollie

How is a handball decision gunna be declined because of simulation you numpty?

I think we have a good squad. Kenny said slight tweaks. I think he meant 4/5 first team players in addition to the squad minus the players out on loan now and Maxi, kuyt, Aurelio, Spearing. We need to go the route of 2 good players per position.

Martinez, Hoilett, Ozil, Higuain are who we should look at.

Reina, Doni.
Johnson, Kelly
Aggar, Skrtel, Coates, Carra.
Enrique.

Gerrard, Hoilett.
Lucas,Martinez,Adam, Henderson.
Ozil, Downing.

Saurez,Bellamy.
Higuain,Carroll.

Ozil will never play for a club not in the CL

08 Apr 2012 02:59:48
is it me or is AGGER the new Gerrard?
he is an insparation when he is on the pitch. He motivates players from the goalie to the cf. I think we have our new captain. that's also the Only way we are going to get carra out successfully as he wont be able to be number two anymore that would be gerrard.

I would totally agree with you if he wasnt so injury prone. he is a truly class player
NZL_red

Agree mate. Agger shud be given the captain's armband next season. Gerrard wud no longer be guaranteed a start on current form.

Out with the old and in with the new.

GK) Reina - Gulacsi
RFB) Johnson - Kelly - Flanagan
CB) Skrtel - Coates
CB) Agger(vc) - Wilson
LFB) Enrique - Robinson
RW) Hoilett - Phillips
BWM) Lucas(c) - Spearing
DLP) Gerrard - Coady
AP) Henderson - Shelvey - Suso
LW) Downing - Sterling
AF/TM) de Jong - Carroll
T/P) Suarez - Morgan

In: Luuk de Jong, Junior Hoilett and Matt Phillips.

7 or 8th again for us next year then. I like Hoillett, Philips and De Jong but none of them are going to propel us into the top four. We need De Jong plus another forward (hopefully to replace Carroll), one of Hoillett or Philips and a top class winger to arrive. Then also more strength in midfield with a creative and defensive player brought in.

Hear me out on this and wait till the end until you agree or disagree.

This isn't about the manager its more abut the way forward.

As I see it LFC will always be a pull to a lot of players, however teams offering champions league football and potentially more money (Spain offer great tax breaks to footballers) or wages to player will also compete for these players.

Whilst I do not doubt Macca is correct that we are chasing the two named targets I do doubt whether they would come to us and whether we could "afford" them. We have been getting most of the top earners off the payroll (all be it we had some players on silly money who weren't even playing).

We had the pick of players 35 to 20 years ago however a number of things have changed; one is we are having a less successful period, another is other teams can complete (4 champions league places, 2/3 Europa and also the emergence of Money (see Chelsea and Man City) and finally clubs now have players as there single biggest debit in terms of wages (back in the day players weren't earning the money and it was the chairman who were getting rich)).

Whilst we are on a better financial footing; No Champions League Football is impacting on our finances; its great sponsorship and kit deals bring in 45m a year, without Champions League money this impacts us greatly.

So what are the options? Pay over the odds for players from other teams who have "peaked" or "had their "career season"? Personally I think we should give youth a chance, no not all of them and not all together, but only by using them and seeing if they can do it at this level will we know; we can't continually spend 50-75m a season on players in our current position. Youngsters may not get us the holy grail but we're not going to get it by spending 70m on 3 players who do not take the team forward.

I'll leave it up to you guys to decide if you agree or not; just one thing - I've read a few posts on here critisising other fans for saying Solado or Munian (who one of the Ed's said may be Barcelona bound - us or them if you had a choice and was Spanish?) may not join us, but look at history, players haven't joined us for those very reasons, Whilst at LFC we want the very best, I hope we can convince them of the project we have here, but it's going to be tough!

Here's hoping we get the right result next week, we finish the season on a good run and win a 2nd cup and show potential signings their future lays here..

Hoola

I think we will get one of the two, soldado being more likely. I doubt we will be spending 40 million+ on a strikeforce again.
My summer signings wud be:
Soldado - 22 million
D. Texeira - 8 million
Armero - 6 million
M. Phillips - 5 million
M. Sissoko - 12 million
All of them r realistic targets plus the fees shud be somewhat the same. Bring gulacsi from loan.
Sell kuyt, carrol, maxi, carra, adam, doni, cole, aquilani, pacheco, darby, amoo, ecclestone. We shud get around 30 million for them. The shirt deal wud cover teh net amount spent, hence the owner do not even have to turn to their pockets. Let themsave money for the stadium.

I just dont know whats happening guys? Has KK lost the dressing room? Is it a tactics problem? Lack of confidence? Mixture of all three? There is no point in sacking KK now the legend doesent deserve that treatment bringing in a new manager now would not change anything and I think we should let KK have a shot at the FA cup as gratitude for all he has done for our club. If I was John Henry I would be on the phone to Rafa now and be begging him to come back I seriously doubt it tho after Henry made disparaging comments about Rafa when they bought the club. One more thing I agree with the people that say if Hodgson was in charge there would be a lynching but because its KK he is getting spared, thats not fair or just...Miami_Red

Seriously mate wake up - KK is doing a terrible job! It might be some of the players too, but often they are they players that HE invested in. I get that he is a pool Hero but if Ryan Giggs took over Man Utd and we faced being 10th on Monday I would be correctly placing the blame!

Joe

Did you evan watch the game?
we thumped villa and the only thing that was missing was the second goal, and that comes down to the players quality and not Kenny.
Give this man time,to build a team in the liverpool mould,as we dont have a magic wond like City or Chelsea.
We have the right man for the job that is needed, all he needs now is time to drive it home to the players the liverpool way!!!

REDMAD

Who bought the c**p players then?
Indian Buzzer

You mean the crap players like luis or the ones like kuyt??

I'm the original poster! Joe You contradicted yourself a few time's! i did'nt say that Kenny was doing a fine job i said he'll be hurting even more than us and certain player's have let him down! i do go on to say that he'll be moved upstairs in the summer! REDMAD i did watch the game and we did'nt thump Villa as you have said! maybe the last 10 min's but is that enough for you as it certainly not for me! and how long do these player's need to settle in? they all have premiere league experience except Luis! and their all professional footballer's except one! And y we all know who that is!

St john was saying today-why cant we try some Championship players,i agree-Lambert be one

Lallana would be quality too. I wonder how Comolli hasnt spotted him yet

According to a lot of so-called fans we have them already!
Dutchmal

Because will end up playing like a championship side

Yeah it would be good thinking for you boys to buy quality Championship players, lets face it its inevitable your going to do a Leeds so you should prepare now for a swift return to the prem by securing decent lower level players on long contracts, neven know lads you might sneak back up via the play-offs in a few years

SHED END

Yeah good idea that and then this time next year we can all say they were never good enough and all slag them off like we did with kenny

Well, Shelvey, Sterling, Jones and Adam are all bought from championship teams, along with others, perhaps I'm missing. I don't think we should be limited to England. There are better alternatives out there playing in othe european clubs. YNWA Trustme

Hello ,
Some insight from my side. Today i was watching the match at a Sports bar in India. Where 90% of the people were Manchester United fans , and i being a Liverpool fan was alone cheering for our beloved side. As usual we dominated , hit posts as many times as we could have . Made referee think about his decisions (which could have gone our way or should have ). At last i conclude we were unlucky , unfortunate and deserved better.

Now coming to King Kenny abusers , you people are disgrace to us ( supporters of Liverpool) . What are you thinking ,joining the bandwagon at this stage when our team( whatever it comprises of) needs us the most . You slag the players ,the coach , the manager , i mean you are who . I know we guys the fans built this club , but we are the ones who are called Liverpool Supporters . If you can not share team's loss than do not be there to share our win . Always be behind thick and thin and mostly when its most needed. I support every player from Carroll to Gerrard till the time they are playing for Liverpool . So please i beg no more negative posts from now on, please just follow our King till the end because we were the one who brought him back and now we ( speaking as a whole) want his head on a platter. I mean come on give the lad a wee bit of respect .

Thank You
AJI

Wake up Cinderella this is the real world with real people in it. The fact we are losing isn't what everyone is complaining about it's the standard of football, granted the players gave everything today that nobody can argue against and they were unlucky but what can't be forgiven are the abject performances that we've seen recently. When you have highly paid so-called professionals not even trying its hard to take and blind loyalty isn't helping anyone.

From the city of Liverpool all the way to India, I take my hat off to you my friend.

Pay attention doom-mongers.
Here is a man who understands what it really means to support a football club, and from 7,000 miles away- not just when they are winning nearly every game, but when they are struggling and need some support.

Some of you whinging b*****ds make me ashamed to be a Liverpool supporter.
We can't change anything before the end of the season anyway, so why not shut up with all the bitching, get behind Kenny and the team, and see if things get any better when you encourage them, instead of slagging them all off every time they misplace a pass.

Liverpool fans my arse- some of you don't know what the word supporter even means.

Agree but did Roy get your support??
I don't think so.. I firmly all human beings are hypocrites..We teach others what we never follow..

Kenny is a joke

We were unlucky hit the post merchants will be out-noooooootttt.We Were s ite for 70mins.Forget woes up top and defence for a minute. Our Midfield and its'balance'is shocking. No pattern/shape.No one knows wether to sit or go.Hendersen is now hiding infrontve back 4.We can all pass sideways and backwards,WHEN will he grow some and drive forward?Downings still allergic to a tackle.Enrique thinks hes Cafu(moving to defence)And loses it-was excellent-severe decline.Carras so slow makes me nan look quick.Shelvey patchy but better then Hendo.Stevie posing/till 2nd half.Kuyt and Suarez best two,and reputedly binning Kuyt-if only others worked so hard.Suarez gets fook all decision wise, yould have to ask-will he go,or is it worth cutting our loses-cos his names mud.But the Great Carrol apologists-guy had x3 weak headers-plays to his alledged strength=x2 at keeper,x1 over-when easier to score near end.Ild sell a load and start again-problem is-do you trust Dalglish with funds-Hendo played where hes meant partially at least-and still looked S ite.Already mentioned others.I sadly fear a hideing at Wembley. But whats very strange is why Agger-centre half-can bring ball out and drive them on-again speaks volumnes about midfield

I for can't believe your rant at Henderson,as for me had a strong game yesterday. He did what was asked of him,and he did it well. I suppose you watched the highlights and seen him miss the 2 long shots he attempted.he made a lot of passes mate and they all weren't 5 yard passes sideways. He made lung busting runs won headers, always made himself available,I saw his pace at close range pal and the lad worked his socks off to cover positions Carra would have struggled to get over too.I have always said that the centre of midfield will be the lads future. It makes me sick that some fans use a 21 yr old as the scapegoat.Henderson has become the Ronnie Whelan, Lucas Leiva, whipping boy.He played well yesterday, and he certainly wasn't S***e.

what are the chances we will sign munian and soldado?

Not much!

Soldado realistic, muniain not a chance.
Indian Buzzer

Stop worrying about who we will sign and support the ones we got now as we got a cup to win and a season to save face... Because if we get any worse no one will sign of that quality

None if kenny is manager who would want to play for him

No chance, they are both world class players, why would they want to play for your rag-tag bunch of misfits? i heard jordan rhodes and rikki lambert are coming in - "king kenny" doesnt look any further than the british leagues for players, i doubt he's even heard of either of the players you've mentioned.

Am I the only person who may want to see a 5-3-2 again?

Seems we have no width so we stick players out wide who aren't natural wide players... so why fake it?

Let wing backs give us the width and let's play short passes through the center with our large amount of center mid's.

Defense could have more confidence, Enrique and Johnson/Kelly/Flanno could get forward more, and it gives either Gerrard, Shelvey, or Hendo a chance to pull some strings behind 2 forwards. Worked last year with a worse squad - so bring it out I say!

I want to thank Macca for his info that is wonderful it always comes at a good time when we all need reassurance. Those targets are just fab! This just shows how wonderful the owners we have are, and how wise they are and understanding as well. These targets will not be cheap but are the sorts pool should be going for.
as always thanks for the eds that are always here for us!

I was at the game yesterday and thought Gerrard was extremely effective on the right. He whipped in so many great crosses and Susrez was really unlucky with his header.

I think for the last few games with nothing to play for, we should try Stevie on the right with Carroll up top with Suarez and see if he can get his head on the end of Gerrards crosses.

Agreed- wouldn't mind seeing a 4-2-3-1 of:

Doni
Flanno-Skrtel-Agger-Enrique
Shelvey-Henderson
Gerrard-Suarez-Downing
Carroll

Maybe give Robinson some game time for Enrique, Sterling for Downing, Coady for Shelvey, Adorjan for Carroll, etc (not all at the same time obviously).

RDL

Stevie played well on the right. Best crosser in the club. Downing played well and shouldnt have come off as he was whipping in some crosses. Carrol would loved these crosses coming in both sides.

My ideal conclusion to this season would be for us to win the fe cup and kenny to step aside at his own wish with his head held high and hopefully that's what will happen. Then we begin the search for the man to take us on and personally I feel we must get a foreign coach in and realistically who can we have well Iam going to throw a mad one out here but what about roberto Martinez the lad talks well looks to have bit of class about him and if macca is to be believed would tie in with our future Spanish signings and also fits fsg original plan when they took over and wanted a young talented coach to take us forward just thought I'd put it out there anyway what u reckon ed 001

Thanks kopman {Ed001's Note - he is certainly a better bet than the likes of MON, he wouldn't be my first choice though.}

Humor us Ed001! In fantasy land where whims are granted who is your top choice? {Ed001's Note - Bielsa without a doubt. I loved his Chile side, they were incredible to watch and he has Athletic playing good footie too.}

Id rather have a manager who wins football matches rather than one plays good footie.
Indian Buzzer

They might play good footie Ed, but does it not concern you that he is actually doing no better with his team in La Liga than Liverpool with maybe better players? Martinez, Llorente, Munian etc?

The Irish Rover {Ed001's Note - no, I don't see football as being about glory, I want to go enjoy watching how we play and any trophies won are just a huge plus. I would rather get relegated than watch the dross Fat Scam serves up every week.}

Who is fat scam ed?
Indian Buzzer {Ed002's Note - I think he is referring to Ed007's cooking.}

Carroll thrives on crosses. So KK decides in his last 3 games to brIng Carroll on and sub downing or bring Downing on and take Carroll off. He doesn't have a clue.

No you don't have a clue...kenny ain't a pushover, that little b*tch fit carroll had last week will teach him to show respect or not get started.

That was yesterdays game lets get over it and be happy we got a point out of it as two weeks ago we might have lost.

I know I am being pesimistic, but having gone through last year with the Mata and Young rumours only to end up with Downing and Adam, I am not counting my chickens until they have hatched.
I have a fear that we will see average 'equivalents' like Hoilett and Bent gracing Anfield next season rather than Soldado and Munian.
Although the glimmer of hope could be that last summer we recruited the 'squad' players and this summer we will recruit the 'starting' XI players. A good dose of wishful thinking is an effective cure for negativity.....

But there again some targets might look at the carling cup and think this club can win trophies and I want that. So yes there is hope.
hibsylfc

For how long though?

I wouild gladly take bent at least he knows how to score goals, he is one of the best and most consitant finishers in EPL so yes plse i would bet he would get us 20 goals a season

and as fo the likes of Munian it aint gong to happen i would prefer uzzeta myself he looks a creative player with a bit of pace and can cross the ball also has a few goals in him

Hello everybody...
Believe me or not but Andy Carrol will be leaving in the summer transfer window.
Possibly and probably back to newcastle for a cut price of 20mil
Kenny understands us fans and knows Andy's attitude and commitment isn't all there with Liverpool

Cheers

We got mugged by the Geordie's! should nickname Mike Ashley Dick Turpin!

Liverpool would be lucky to get 10m for Carroll. Probably less with add ons. He is a mess, and not many would touch him tbh.

I really find it worrying that KK spends £35mill on Carroll and yet is reluctant to play him. Until Carroll and Suarez have a decent run in the team together, questions whether Carroll was a good buy or not are irrelevant.

Yeap he doesnt wana be here, sickve saying

Carroll and Suarez will never work.
LS has talent, control, ability, pace and a footbal brain, AC sadly has none of these attributes.
For LS to succeed he needs to be paired with a like-minded player, one with ability.
Sadly this strike partnership was doomed to fail from the start, as AC was brought in as a panic buy, no thought was given to how he would fit in or play up front, a classic "square peg, in a round hole"!.

I would be reluctant to play someone who clearly hasnt fitted into the system and has quite frankly been a poor performer all season. Face it people Carroll is Rubbish.

Steve

Mike Ashley will never in a million years pay 20 million to get Andy back.

Lol - £20m... what are you basing this on?
newcastle have 2 world class strikers as it is - why would they want some third rate reject and why would they pay £20m?

maybe if kk was in charge at newcastle he'd pay such a ludicrous amount - pardew however lives in the real world and will get a much better striker on the continent for about £m if he wants one...

face it, carroll is unsellable - you might be able to loan him to bolton or someone next year, thats it.

Crazy to think, we have a £35m striker who is probably only worth 1/5 thereof...damn!
Has to go down as one of the biggest 'c*ckups' in football history, what were the club thinking!.
Its hardly the case that LFC have money to 'throw' away...now we are stuck with the lad, what a absolute tragedy.
Must be one of the worst buys ever, what were they thinking!!.

Imo I think seb Larsson and clint Dempsey would be ideal realistic replacements for Adam and hendo, and one proven goal scorer. Our defence is great, I wouldn't change it. What you think?? Ynwa

Why would we sell Henderson?

Martin

I think the boat has sailed for Dempsey, if he were 24 then it would be a different conversation. Larsson is a good free transfer for Sunderland, but would have struggled to get in the team last season with Kuyt having the best career haul at Liverpool, with 15 goals and 15 assists all competitions.

I'm still sore about not putting a bid in for Papiss Cisse, when he was going so cheap after scoring so many for Lille and winning the League title. It was more than worth the punt at a time when we needed a fresh breath of air for the run in, when struggling for goals and 4th place being so important.

Newcastle signed Cisse from Wolfsberg!

Clint Dempsey is very settled in London. He would only move to Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal, but he really loves life in Fulham, and West London in particular. Liverpool don't have the pull you think they have for players any more!

Newcastle signed cisse from freiburg!!
NZL_red

Cisse was from Frieburg

Ajp

Well i knew it was a German team! that berg in it!

Why would we sell Hendo?mmmmmmmmmmm maybe because he's rubish!

Elmo

In the same way as we support an English team with 'pool' in it I suppose

Oh i thought i was on the Blackpool page!

Please excuse me if my question has been answered before or is blatantly obvious....... Is Macca the legend that is Steve Macca Mcmanaman?
It would answer why he is ITK : )
JamieMk {Ed002's Note - No he isn't.}

Are u sure? Ed 2???? {Ed002's Note - I am sure.}

Jason Mcateer?

Ronald Macdonald?

Macca can't be jason,as macca can spell!! {Ed002's Note - He isn't.}

Well it could not be Mcateer! He couldnt use a computer to type. What was his nick name at Liverpool? Trigger?

Lmao @ Trigger
I thought this had been asked before, obviously not!
He has some affiliation to the club though, however it is.
MACCA your comments are appreciated! whether they come true or not.

Steve McMahon? {Ed002's Note - No. You are really wasting your time with all of this.}

this forum or website is not here for so called fans to hurl abuse at KK and certainly not show any form of disrespect it is utterly unacceptable, yes he might not be doing well now but that does not give us the right to show or write disrespectful comments. He represents liverpool he always will whether he will remain as the manager or not.
If you think for one moment he is happy with the way things are going you are utterly wrong because he is used to winning and he has been under our great managers of the past. So he knows how things should, it is a shame our players do not. I am not implying that he should stay or go, that is nto what I am writing about, it is the respect, the language some people use .Like a poster down the page saying he is a waste of space, no manners and uneducated person.
His pictures are all over Anfield you moran, and he is part of our history and for the other person who said bootroom b****cks. Go and learn about what pool is about how Shankly and Paisley sat in that Anfield Bootroom and did all the tactics that brought us glory for many years. Criricise and put forward your opinions respectfully.

I support Kenny Dalglish, i think there is a negative agenda by the media. I know we are doing poorly but we did win a cup with 9 new lads in the team. 7 of which feature regularly whilst sticking for the main part with British talent. But that optimises the British media in my opinion.

We look very attacking at times, i think there are huge positives, with a need for a new goal scorer and a genuine right winger we'd be very competitive and obviously with Lucas back in the centre of the park doing the ugly work is vital.

Well said.
