January ins:
Coentrao - Real Madrid -12m
Salah- 10m - Basel
Morata - loan

Believable0 Unbelievable0

^^ that would be a perfect window. Not the slightest chance of it happening though

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take John Guidetti if Morata off to Arsenal or if Real blocks a move in jan.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jan 2014 22:45:49
Why are we only loaning morata instead of buying?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Loaning Morata is possibly the most pointless loan signing since Moses.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Let's hope he moves to Arsenal who are already negotiating terms.}

Not too bothered if he joins the gooners, we don't need Morata as Sturridge is close to fitness.
We need a left back, centre mid fielder and a winger. I would also send Moses back to Chelsea if I could as he has been at best disappointing and wasted both his and our time with his lacklustre displays.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moses might be having a difficult time settling in Liverpool, get off the lads back boys let's just support him if he never does well that's just a move that didn't work out that's the beauty of loans be worse if we handed 12 million for him or whatever

Agree0 Disagree0

Gooner fans don't even want him. They all want Jackson Martinez

Agree0 Disagree0

Problem is that Moses just isn't applying himself, he just looks like he's here to collect his pay and not much more.

Apart from 10 minutes against Swansea he hasn't produced anything of any note and it's a waste of a loan and a salary, he may as well have stayed and Chelsea and rotted on their bench. That's not getting at him it's just stating fact.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2014 13:33:20
Agreed mark. But we couldn't have known he'd be dross beforehand could we?
Better it be a loan than actually owning him right?

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't set the world alight at Chelsea and wasn't great at Wigan, might have been a clue. Might as well have kept Assiadi as he has played very well for Stoke.

Just thought now how BR is with Sturridge & Hendo etc Babel's time as Liverpool came too soon.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ye I liked babel but when a player is at the club under few diff managers and doesn't impress any its time to start looking else where also didn't his move away from the club not go to well was it a german side?is he at ajax now how is he doing?maybe its a case of he didn't take the game seriously enough.terrible rapper my god.jroc is better

Agree0 Disagree0

Babel has the talent to be a top top player, its his mentality letting him down, footys not that important to him, just a well paid job.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah i'm just saying a young babel, not that he would work now.

Alonso signs contract extension with Real.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Better than seeing him turn out in a City/Chelsea/United shirt as the press kept mentioning.

YNMADAM can you give me a update on Jerome Sinclair

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hasn't reached anywhere near the same heights as this time last year. Been abit let down by him tbh ever since his first team appearance & he keeps being held back in the u18s when others are being promoted which tells a story on it's own

Agree0 Disagree0

Is he not real young as in 16 or 17

Agree0 Disagree0

He has not long been back from a bad injury, and has recently found a bit of form. He needs to improve his decision making in and around the box as he tries to do it all on his own sometimes, but he's not 18 till September and he is a good learner. Reminds me of a young Daniel Sturridge when he was at City.

Banter please Eds,

Evening gents,

You Scousers are famed for your sense of humour, how about this?

I posted this on Gooners site a few weeks ago and got a good response.
Just for fun, what funny goal celebration would you have for your players?

I said "The Olly">>> Olly Giroud scores a goal and to celebrate, bearing in mind he's quite a good looking chap, he stands in front of an imaginery mirror, pulls out an imaginery comb and styles his hair and finishes off walking like a model up and down an imaginery catwalk.

What celebration would you boys have for one of the Liverpool players?

PS, you can tell i'm bored can't you lol?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Moses doing a shadow boxing celebration because he looks like Nicola Adams

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd have Suarez pull an imaginary cloak from behind him and bite another players neck like Dracula.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well suarez done the dive in front a moyse was pertty good I would like martin skrtel to do the danny sturrdige celebration just because the big serious head one him

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to say the best was actually done by a Liverpool player suarez the dive in front of moyes just legendary stuff altogether

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez scores against Chelsea then runs to the halfway line then dives and rolls around in fake agony right in front of Mourinho.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol @ you boys,

Suarez doing "The Dracula"

Agree0 Disagree0

Yh I remember the Suarez dive, classic.

plz don't anybody mention Robbie Fowler sniffing the touchline one lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Would like to see Henderson run with a pantomime Hunchback of Notre Dame posture just to throw it back at whiskey nose.

JFT 96

JP

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd have Suarez pull an imaginary cloak from behind him and bite another players neck like Dracula.

Scouse_Pride

We have a winner! funny as hell

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone figured out Sturridge's goal celebration, where he waves his arms around rather like Mr Tickle? What's that all about? Someone should tell him he looks a bit of a knob. I guess we don't work too much on Goal celebrations in training?

Agree0 Disagree0

Shanks - think Moses had better do his celebration when he next wins a throw-in, because we'll be waiting a long time for his next goal!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we should adopt a celebration like Citeh did with 'The Poznan'.

How about if Lucas scores, the whole of Anfield drops their trousers and throw a moon. Just imagine 40,000 big brown eyes gazing down on our goal scoring hero.

I'm just watching press-box on LFC TV and I've got to say that there's nothing more annoying than listen to three journalists who have probably never even kicked a ball in their life.

Give me a drunken overweight ex footballer with an inflated ego any day talking some experienced s***e, instead of a pair of fat kecks with Etons version of Harry Potter squeezed in between.

Just a preference mind but it does get on my tabits.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm of the opposite opinion
Why does being an ex player make anybody an "expert"?
Especially given the intelligence of most footballers

Agree0 Disagree0

If you wish to be pedantic CIT, I think you will find ''experienced'' is the operative word ''Davy''used in his post with reference to ex-players!Nowhere does he use the word ''expert''.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wasn't being pedantic I was stating my opinion and if you've got an ex player giving his comments on tv (or any other medium) he will be the "expert"

Hi eds. Hope all is well and you're all coping with the January sales. I'm seeing a lot of rumours about our younger players who bordered on the fringe last year, wisdom, ngoo, Morgan plus others who we are looking to offload. Are we actively looking to loan or sell our young players as they're not making the grade? Is suso the only one who has a possible career with us or is he away too? Lastly are there any promising academy players who are coming on well?

Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - Ngoo is up for sale, Morgan has gone. Wisdom is up in the air, as he wants more first team football. Rossiter, Dunn, Ibe and a few others look likely to make the grade. Baio is the one that interests me right now, I believe he is available for loan, though I personally would like to see him get a run out in central midfield. I think he could be the grit we lack in there. Suso looks likely to return in the summer and play for us, but it is a long way off. We have a strong crop, at each age group, some will have to go to make way for the younger ones.}

Ed regarding the strong crop. Any time you need to get rid of the more mature ones, Ill gladly take them off your hands.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Just take the buds.}

The 11th commandment ed 2 thou shalt not waste leaf

Agree0 Disagree0

And Ed, would you rather have Wisdom in that right back position rather than Johnson?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

08 Jan 2014 20:28:34
While it is great news that Sturridge and Sakho are near fit again, I think it must be realised that our chances of winning the league is real and we need just two or more signings to accomplish this. I know BR is doing a great job but I think we have to dream big to win big and this window as I said may be or make or break point. Hopefully a player or two is added soon to ease not just my worried mine but all those who feel simillar to me. LFC all the way regardless YNWA.

To EDs, or anyone that knows, how has Borini been doing? I don't mean purely in goals and assists but does he look like a constant threat, has he been consistent, has he been playing up top or just off on the left. I haven't had chance to watch him play for Sunderland and i'm, interested. Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I`ve seen a few of his games and he is quite nifty. His work rate, desire and movement off the ball are excellent and he has a devastating finish in him. He just needs game time and confidence IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jan 2014 13:39:46
When I see him play, he impressed me.
I thought he was the best player on the pitch in the half he played whilst Ill.
It must say that either Poyet rates him enough to assign him penaltys in a cup semi, or that he's got the confidence in his own ability to take the onus upon himself. Either way it bodes well. His teammates must trust him.
I think he's been unlucky. What he needed was a real run of games, hopefully under Poyet he can nail down a place in the 11 and really find some form.
If love Borini to really find his feet, score a few goals and come back a better player. I'm really rooting for him,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I wouldn't, I would give Ibe a chance.}

Yeah would like him to up his game time alright speaking of ibe what happened to Sinclair from us how old is he now

Agree0 Disagree0

Good point. He is sterling 2.0 with mre pace, power and trickery. Keep the money till the summer if we can`t get anyone.

Eds fellow reds, it seems that no one wants to make the first move in this transfer window .do you think that it could be a snowball window as soon as one move takes place everyone else will follow? Or is it blind mans bluff no one really wants to spend any money so there waiting to see what each other will do before spending .

Hi EDs

Been hearing that Tom Ince is available and a host of clubs are after his signature.
Would I be correct in saying that we get some money from any sale from a sell on clause.
4 million is a figure being banded about.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - yes, but that is regardless of a sell on clause, when a player goes through a club's academy, they receive a cut of future fees.}

Thanks for the info and yet again giving us mere mortals in the world of contracts and transfers more information and how they sometimes work.
Keep up the great work you all do.

great season so far plus points all round. the owners appear to have a vision more brick by brick that will allow out team and club to improve steadilly on all fronts. we have a young manager who is ambitious and traditional who likes to play exiting football.we have players such as jones and toure allways on the fringes but prepared and ready to play with plenty of abillity and a great attitude which is a big plus for our squad.saurez, sterling, sturridge, coutinho all players who can make something from nothing.assaidi and suso showing similar attributes whilst on loan.ibe ilori mclaughlin way too good not to feature in future, plus many more exiting prospects.mignolet, sakho have played well in debut season, lucas playing well, allen, aspas, alberto, kelly have all done ok when played, jordan henderson has made great strides and jon flanagan has taken the majority of us by suprise with some supurb perfomances adding the most celebrated goal of the season so far (great moment) . in 18 months time I think our club by then may well have dispenssed with some good players such as johnson, skrtel, agger, reina and maybe enrique although I would love to see agger stay as like stevie gerrard it would be great for all concerned if they were to be in and around the club beyond retirement with active involvement.the day a player like agger for instance (latter part of his career, earned a fortune already) informs the club he would be willing to take a pay cut if it meant a new contract would in my opinion be a player carving his own statue and start a trend in the right direction for football in general which may allow a reduction in ticket prices so the games can be more affordable to attend for those somewhat discluded at present. premier squad numbers could be reduced to 23 players keep 25 for divisions below and allow a promoted club to keep a full squad of 25 for the first season in the top division reducing to 23 if survival is obtained. youngsters would then play an even bigger part allowing more opportunity for accademy players to come through the ranks.i know the club has lots of worthy projects ongoing which do brighten the lives of many and long may they continue. we are very much a community club with worldwide growing support. hats off to everyone involved.
i'm hoping we get through a tough match at the weekend with zero injuries as a very physical game awaits.
great season for me so far,, loving it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Great post. I think we`ll be fine. This reminds me of the way Dortmund reinvented itself after near demise and relegation by taking a chance on a young coach (Klopp) who had just gotten a team (Mainz) relegated and took chances on cheap players w/ great value (Lewandowski cost 4M) and its academy (Gotze, Wiendefeler, grosskreutz, Sahin, etc). With time, luck and patience, look where they are now. This is the blueprint we need IMO.

I'd just like to say fair play to Thomas Hitzlsperger who has just come out and admitted he's gay. Not many people have the balls to admit it, which is a real problem these days. People shouldn't have to worry about admitting there gay, in fact it shouldn't even have to be "admitted". But in this day and age, under the circumstances and abuse some sick people shout, I have huge respect for him. People shouldn't have to worry about being gay, it should just be accepted, as it doesn't make him/her any different from the rest of us. Yeah but as I say, unfortunately there is people that say sick things, and hopefully this is the start of some movement. I am not gay, but I treat people who are the exact same way as I'd treat anyone else. Hopefully this is the foundations to push on and make homosexuality accepted, and I'm behind them 100%. Yeah so I'd just like to congratulate Thomas, it takes courage to do something like that, and he has that in abundance. Great player too!
Cheers,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Spot on ROI, agree with everything you said.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ah, ROI. You were going along so well until those last 3 words. Average I would say.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think "I'm behind them 100%" was the correct choice of words in this situation ;-)
. but good post ROI, absolutely agree with what you said there mate.

Red Rum

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on mate, although I think at least half of the problem, at least in the English game, is with the players (the straight ones). The level of education and tolerance on such issues is shockingly poor. Whereas the fans at least the vast majority in this day and age are quite tolerant.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to say Rover, 52 international caps for Germany begs to differ! I said great player because I feel he was very underrated. Not the flashiest player but he got the job done!

Red-Rum your on the edge there mate! Good joke though I must say haha. I know its only banter mate but when it gets more aggressive and it's actually said with intent then it can get ugly. But don't worry I know you didn't mean it as an offense to people who are gay haha.

Yeah Mikey I agree, players are big offenders at times too. Fans of opposition teams can be very offensive, and when they are using it as an insult it's just disgusting!

One thing I have to say is people these days (and I'm not going to lie I'm no exception) become so unknown to what there saying, that they unknowingly offend gay people on a regular basis. I mean "awh that's gay" and things like that, although mean nothing to most of us, can be very offensive. Just simply the fact that the word "gay" is being used in a negative light can be offensive. I'm not going to lie, I've been a regular offender, and I was wrong even if I didn't say it with intent. Even if I am only turned 18, I have a strong opinion on this matter, because not only is it harming the football image, but its harming the image of innocent people that may not even be involved in the offense.

So yeah, hopefully Hitzlsperger coming out will trigger a few more, and make being gay acceptable.
Cheers,

Agree0 Disagree0

Indeed.

It's a sad state of affairs that as the 21st century is all new that people/players still feel the need to bottle-up certain feelings and emotions.

It will get better - but only when the bigots and narrow minded egg-heads grow up.

Unfortunately, judging by many of the helms who walk through the turnstiles, things may take a little longer than anticipated.

Agree0 Disagree0

In the words of the great Charles Barkley (NBA Legend), "I`d rather have a gay guy who can play rather than a straight guy who can`t"

Agree0 Disagree0

There sexuality is there business in fairness and if they think its best to keep it secret in such an adrenaline/testosterome fuelled business we should support that also.the players are afforded very little privacy as it is.i don't think coming out as homosexual while playing will help them in any way.just my opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

@Jimlahey

It isn't that they think its best kept secret - its that they think they have no other option except secrecy. In 2014 that is a sorry state of affairs and it must change.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed seano your right but its tuf they would be abused, not fair but a fact none the less

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd just like to put in here. I don't think the footballers are particularly to blame for the fear. Several footballers who have talked on the issue, D Dublin R savage etc, have said when they spent time at clubs, there were players who admitted they were gay to their colleagues but it never went out the dressing room. I think it's the fear of the fans/media more than what players would do. Dublin and Savage made it quite clear the players in these dressing rooms had no problem with the sexual orientation.

Agree0 Disagree0

Racism in football has been tackled and is much better (though still far from perfect) than it was 20 years ago and a similar sort of approach is needed to homosexuality. If fans abuse players for it immediate life ban from all stadia - that'd be a good start.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - It doesn't work like that any more.}

Please elaborate Ed002

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There is no need to elaborate, it is a loan or a loan to buy.}

My choices would be Rakatic, hard working and a fantastic passer.
Salah, direct, pacey and an end product.
Montoya, highly rated can play full back and centre half.(would actually like Arbeloa back as he was a fantastic full back and could ably cover both full back positions).

What is going on with salah. player apparently wants to come we want him? Why are we letting other teams to get involved. We need this deal wrapped up by friday or we will have missed out. YNWA

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If we miss out then we go after targets

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool are giving out a reputation that they will not pay more than their evaluation for any player. I think this is a great move in general. I'd also rather see Stirling developing with first team football than paying over the odds for a player unproven in the prem. Salah might be worth around 9mil but not more than that on his record. If other clubs wish to GAMBLE their money on players that's up to them.
Lets stick to our evaluation, stick to our guns, is he in or out?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok fair enough. but I would still like to see him or a good 1st team player added to the team before the villa game as i'm headed over to it! Come on brendan get the check book out lol

Agree0 Disagree0

See you there pal going over meself 3-1 Liverpool if this happens we'll win the league (if you believe in superstitious)

Agree0 Disagree0

Just a few names for you Ramirez, Lamela, Errikson, saha, cissoko, Willian just some of the players the people on here have recently craved for, and none are any better than what we have got. As soon as a name is put out there we go into hysteria, is Salah any good? who knows, you will only be sure when they put on the jersey, so I say let the people in the know o their business and support who ever they bring in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good post, Evered. People were craving for all these players at inflated prices. How are they all doing? Nada! I wouldn`t touch any of them and some of them can`t even get off the bench (Willian, Gaston Ramirez, Lamela, Sigurdsson, Dempsey etc.). Those are quite a lot of bullets to dodge, right? This is why none of these "experts" are on the club`s scouting dept and long may it continue. YNWA!

Agree0 Disagree0

Redohio, Willian has done pretty well for Chelsea, he's often their drive going forward along with hazard, I didn't rate him that highly but he's coming along nicely in the BPL.Ramirez is doing OK at southampton who have had a slump over December.(lamela I'd never watched so won't comment) Dempsey was played in COMPLETELY the wrong position at spurs which is AVB's fault. Sigurdsson does OK at Spurs when he plays.

Rmemeber how joe allen warmed the bench quite often over the last calender year. Now people are saying he should start ahead of Gerrard.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bob, I've got to disagree with you on Willian mate. He may yet come good, but Chelsea fans are extremely frustrated by his performances so far. One of my mates is a Chelsea season ticket holder and managed to smuggle me in to the Chelsea Liverpool game just after Xmas.

Apart from it being really frustrating sitting with the wrong supporters (so hard not to cheer Srktel and so hard not to shout encouragement at the end!), it was hilarious that every time Willian got the ball, the collective shout from the Chelsea faithful was "just don't lose the ball!!".

It quietened down during the game, and I'm afraid to say that that game was probably a turning point for Willian as he did show a lot of class and spirit which had been largely lacking for the first half of the season.

Hello Eds, I know we are only a week into the transfer window but how comes we were so much better prepared in the previous January window? Reason being, we had already announced the signings of Sturridge and Coutinho by this point last year.

Do you believe that Ian Ayre, is far too cautious and tentative when negotiating deals? It's as if the Salah deal has come to a grinding halt. Do you believe we will move on from him, otherwise wouldn't have we matched his valuation by now?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - different season, different circumstances. There is no emergency to add right now, so no need to rush into deals. Sturridge was a deal we had started work on for a summer move, just unable to complete it then, so it was hardly a quick one either!}

Didn't we sign Coutinho on the penultimate day of the window? After all the Sneijder rumours?

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jan 2014 12:40:52
Ed 1, what are your thoughts on Henderson this year? personally I think he has massively improved and is a key part of the team, not being from Liverpool I am friends with mostly nonreds who keep telling me he's rubbish but they don't watch the games enough to know and in my opinion just go by the form he showed in his first season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - he has improved massively this season, his confidence is up and he is playing well. He just needs to add goals to his game now. I like Hendo's work rate and bursts into the box, just want him to score more, as he is getting in good positions. He reminds me a lot of Ray Houghton.}

The only thing Hendo needs is more confidence in front of goal. If you compare him to Coutinho, coutinho will shoot from out side the box, will try to take on 5 players, he thinks he's a Maradonna, but I do like this in him somehow, the confidence inside the young lad. If Coutinho could tone this down a little and Hendo could get a little bit more of this up this in his game (more agression in front of goal) I think we'll really improve as a team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah that finish against hull were he missed would have done him the world a good I am glad he proved me wrong his attitude is what everyone should follow

Agree0 Disagree0

CM is the hardest position to play on the pitch. He came in at 21 and anyone who expected him to boss the midfield at that age is unrealistic. He is developing into a top quality player and hopefully he stays with us long term. Its a shame Brendan took 6 months to work that out and persisted with Allen, who I maintain is not good enough for our club

Agree0 Disagree0

Go, I don`t agree with one of your points. Joe Allen was one of our best players at the start of last season to the point of dominating Yaya Toure during the City game at Anfield and I think our player of the month. His form then dipped and he played w/ injury and had a rough end to the season. This year though in the absence of Gerrard, he along w/ Henderson were top class during the christmas period and with a bit more composure should have had 1 or two goals (in the Chelsea and City games where IMO, he was very good and solid and even got forward to support the attack). To the point that some were saying we didn`t need Gerrard anymore. That`s saying a lot for someone who`s not good enough. This shows me that he has a lot of potential and just needs time and confidence and our patience. We slated Lucas and Hendo and now BR can`t do without them. Show some fith and support in him and he`ll come good.

Agree0 Disagree0

Been impressed by Henderson, worked his arse off and is now a crucial player. Reminds me of Ronnie Whelan. That's as big a compliment as I can pay as he was a legend.

Agree0 Disagree0

Where as some people do believe Allen is good enough. I'm certainly not one of them, too weak, too slow,, not composed enough in final 3rd and too few penetrating passes.

Just want to congratulate Borini on his penalty last night. I've seen a few people (not many on here tbh) saying "it was only a penalty" but it was not. It was a decisive moment in a Semi final of a prestigious cup that will be the difference should Sunderland make it to the final in the second leg. As well as this, being a Liverpool player can you imagine the jokes and jibes that wuld be sweeping across the Manchester United fans and Media today? He had a lot of pressure as he stepped up to take that penalty. Although you wouldn't have known from his body language and how cooly he placed it into the top corner.

So well done Fabio, keep on gonig mate as the true Liverpool fans are still hopng you can come good and be a vital part of our squad for years to come.

Another thing, Moses seems to be getting a lot of stick around here recently. He is clearly in a bad stretch of form right now, and he doesn't seem to be trying very hard either, but he is not a bad player. He lacks confidence right now and the only way that is going to change is if he starts getting some support. Well we used to be the best in the world so what has changed? Until the summer, Moses is one of us, and he cannot be sent back so suck it up and support him. If you cannot critiscise constructively, bite your tongue.

Moses is not one of us he is a chelsea player, he isn't lacking any confidence he is just a lazy player who thinks his talent is enough for him to suceed anywhere. if he is ready to work harder his performances will defintely improve

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Moses is registered to Liverpool as a player.}

08 Jan 2014 14:10:16
Wow, and people wonder why he doesn't want to try for us. He probably visited this site and can't be asked anymore. You don't become a bad player overnight. It doesn't help that we don't play in a style that suits him. He is a very direct player and Rodgers obviously thought he could teach him when and when not to be direct. Give him a chance for god sake. He's barely played and when he has its 80% of the time been out of position covering for the crippled Coutinho.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moses attitude has been poor from the get go - he's playing for Liverpool and being paid astoundingly well for doing so. He has not showed any sort of desire, commitment, passion, work ethic since joining the club and you expect fans to just let that slide? Sorry but there are certain expectations fans have - if you're simply not good enough then fair enough as long as you give everything you have whilst representing our club on the pitch we as fans cannot ask for any more. Moses isn't giving anywhere near his all for the team and is rightly be criticised for it. He cannot expect to just cruise through games without any sort of willingness to work hard or run about - every other player, regardless of form or talent, has done that this season: Moses hasn't and it isn't good enough. I understand fans defending players who are criticised unfairly but this is not one of those occasions - Moses isn't trying hard enough and he is being criticised - it is justifiable criticism.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moses has been awful so far but its not like I want the lad to fail at Liverpool.
If he plays well and scores and creates goals then that benefits us.
I just want him and any other Liverpool players to realize that there is fierce competition for places and if you want to play then you have to bring your A-game. If not then you are not going to play. I am sure that Moses himself would admit to being out of form but we as a club should not pander to him. Its the other way round. He needs to show us why we would want to buy him in the summer( if we actually want to sign him that is).
The good thing about football is that 1 moment in a game can be the turning point for improved confidence and I hope Moses can find that moment if and when he gets the chance.
To be honest I do not know why we loaned him when we have Ibe and Assaidi but now he is here I hope he gets better in the second half of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moses has not been pulling his weight. Even when he loses the ball, he shows no desire or effort to track back which often leaves us vulnerable. His play reminds me a bit of Sahin who came here with the wrong attitude, telling BR where he thought he should be playing which was quite cocky of him. Hey, I want him to succeed because if he shines, lfc shines too. But he has to start busting his butt and show some commitment or he could be shipped back to the chavs sooner than expected.

Ed are we any close to any deals?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Measured how?}

As in, is anything likely to be confirmed in the next week?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Are you including next Wednesday in that week?}

Please, please, please, stop panicking about deals, as for as I understand no club has completed and business of note yet, Have some faith in the club to do the right thing, I admit I was not Brendans biggest fan but the man has certainly won me round(R.T.P) ;) Look at the Willian fiasco in the summer and ok we ended up with Moses, but we kept the receipt and we can send him back.Lets wait and see how it all plays out and stop believing everything we read in the papers, who are just scrabbling about looking for stories.Keep the faith we are fourth for gods sake just six points off top spot.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool cannot "send" Moses back.}

{Ed002's Note - It was not the only error.}

Ed 002 the "send " him back jibe was tongue in cheek, please stop trying to be the Simon Cowell of the banter page and lighten up just a little :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about. I have explained on plenty of occasions that I cannot possibly say when deals will be completed.}

Eds its just that it seems almost every player that we have shown interest in or enquired about is a non starter. Were only a week into window I know but us fans want to see fact and who we are getting.

I guess we will all find out sooner rather than later.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The problem is that the dozens of players listed everyday as those which "Liverpool has shown an interest in" simply aren't true. People get upset when it explained that such-and-such a player is not of interest to Liverpool. And we all know what happens when it is explained that there are plenty of other clubs interested in the likes of Salah. The reality is that Liverpool will not be buying another 8 or 9 players this January. When will Ola John (who is known as the Liberian Victor Moses) be arriving as the high-profile loan player? I can't tell you the day or time.}

So are you saying we are going to sign ola john

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No, I am not saying that Liverpool "are going to sign" the Liberian Victor Moses.}

Ok then am guessing you have never been asked this question before do you have any idea who we are going to sign lol

Eds in regards to the question asked about are we close to signing anyone apart from the apparent bid for salah is there anyone else of note we have put a bid in for including loan deals

Hello eds, According to rumors, Chelsea are not pleased at how Victor Moses' loan deal is going at Liverpool and, as a result, are now reluctant to do business with the Reds over full-back Ryan Bertrand. How much of this is true?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Bits of it.}

Are Chelsea still paying a part of his upkeep ed002?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I really don't want to discuss finances.}

Mmm ok.
Do loans often have a performance-related aspect to how the respective clubs may contribute then?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No. It is agreed at the start how wages will be paid, how much the club will pay to take the player on loan etc.. It is still possible to have break clauses for players from abroad and players at lower league clubs, but if unsure the club would look for a six month deal and not a year. There is a break as a matter of course for injuries.}

I don't get why chelsea are moaning . he's garbage. do they expect us to play him? sure if they thought he was of any use d would have kept him, fair enuf we took him on but things don't work out, not like we guna play him over sterling, i'd not even have that fella in d squad

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - See previous answers. Chelsea are not making any big deal of this. If any one is to blame it is Brendo - why try and make this about someone else? You say "he's garbage" - nice to see you showing respect for a Liverpool player.}

Fingers crossed it blocks Ryan Bertrands move here, I honestly don't see what he would offer ahead of our current crop. Also in response to Ed002 and 5 Gold Stars, Victor Moses is at fault for not starting matches, and it is uncalled for to say he is garbage.

Agree0 Disagree0

He`s not garbage because he`ll be on the plane to Brazil w/ Nigeria and they are no slouches. He`s just not pulling his weight and shows a lack of effort which needs to change and fast.

Agree0 Disagree0

In rodgers defence he has given moses about four starts or appearences ahead of our other players(, while performing poorly) if moses don't step up to the level what is rodgers to do his development can't come at a cost of points to us and chelsea know and i'm sure understand this

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with Chelsea - they have already replaced him. Moses is a Liverpool player until the end of the season.}

Personally I think Chelsea should be more concerned that a loan player isn't pulling his weight and making an effort as that puts his resale value right down. Next stop Aston Villa for Moses.

I have a question that I'm hoping you'll able to shed some light on?
I read on the Macca page that Liverpool are still trying to bring Alonso back to anfield but his perferd destination is London? I know your not in his head, but why would he pass up a opportunity to rejoin the team he loves so much for a London based club? Because I think this season we are in a great position than before to actually compete for top spot.
I don't think we should look back in Alonso. But wouldn't be disappointed if he came back. But really disappointed if he joined Chelsea or arsenal.
Random I know but curious.
Another question, do you think Liverpool are working on a signing that'll get us all excited?
And could push us better than what we already are?
I don't think we need a massive marquee signing but need to add depth. Sorry, I've been reading the site for years and I think you've got the knowledge. Sorry to be a pain.
Thanks in advance if this gets reposed.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - You would need to ask Macca how Liverpool are getting on with the return of Alonso. I really don't know what players would get you "excited".}

I can answer this. It's not the London club that attracts him, it's the chance to work with mourinho again. While at Madrid Jose was responsible for xabi staying when the club was looking to sell, they have a very good working relationship. I don't expect him to go to London though, or Liverpool. We had our chance two years ago when he was very willing to come. I seea move to USA or an extension as more likely
