Ed002, not liking this sakho, very poor and not worth the 20mil, I think we should of gone with papadopulous personally, as where now out of the transfer window would you be able to say how close we were to pulling of the deal to sign pap? {Ed002's Note - Nowhere near. There was interest from Liverpol but nothing like an offer that would be acceptable.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

First of all, Sakho didn't cost "20mil". Also how can you say dismiss a player so quickly? A poor comment.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am a big fan of Sakho. He is quality.

Sakho did cost over 17 mill. {Ed001's Note - I thought it was just under?}

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with mightyreds, I can't see how you call Sakho "very poor". I think he's doing quite well and will only improve.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ehrm. Sakho? Poor? I can't even.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed shako Is quality he has not put a foot wrong and a lot more is expected from him and i'm sure he will deliver

Agree0 Disagree0

Excuse my typing skills sakho sakho sakho

Agree0 Disagree0

MikeD96, Sakho could have lunge-blocked Sangna's cross and he turned his arse on Cabaye's shot, but having said that he has also made some timely blocks and tackles, the jury's still out on Mamadou me thinks!

Agree0 Disagree0

Another fan with a hidden agenda. Sakho`s awesome, tough as nails and good in the air. He just needs time. Sakho`s the future for lfc so get over it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to say the eds ryt on this one the as I recall was 16.9 million. but what u guys have to remember is this is a guy who had little if any football week in week out for a year or 2 now give him time an hel come good .

{Ed002's Note - Let me clarify this as you all seem to be getting confused. The cost of Kirikou was as follows:

(a) Transfer fee - which was €20M.
(b) The levy applied by the local FA – 5% for the EPL.
(c) Tax due on the transfer fee – typically this will be VAT (at varying rates across Europe) some or all of which should be reclaimable.
(d) Agent fees – this may be to one or more agents (as an example, Liverpool have spent £25M plus VAT on agent fees over the past three years leading to this summer window).
(e) Tax due on the agent fees – typically this is VAT at the local rate where the agent bills from – it is not reclaimable.
(f) Intermediary fees – this may be to one or more sponging leeches(what do you mean you have a super agent?) .
(g) Tax due on the Intermediary fees – typically this is VAT at the local rate where the Intermediary bills from – it is not reclaimable.
(h) Signing on fee to the player (possibly including non-reclaimable VAT if the player is VAT registered) - this in the case of Sakho was waived in part by assurances given to the player in person by the Liverpool manager (there is no point in going there).
(i) Legal fees.
(j) VAT on legal fees which is reclaimable.
(k) Moving/relocation costs for the player.
(l) VAT on moving/relocation costs which is reclaimable.
(m) Paying up insurance costs to PSG (these were not waived in the case of Sakho).

ED02. Outstanding. Now that's what u call TRANSFER DETAILS.

Agree0 Disagree0

Your absolutely right, we should have spent 26m on soldaldo, or perhaps 25mil on jovetic, no wait, maybe 30mil on lamela? You sir, are an embarrassment to lfc fans. Give the lad some time for god sake! Yes he has made a few errors but he also made some great blocks and tackles. Sheesh!

Agree0 Disagree0

That was confusing ed.

Ed, great information, put to bed would be the saying!
Sakho has been good so far. You can see he likes to stride up, either with the ball or to make a heavy challenge. He will need to get used to a more strict defensive line but let's be honest, he's never going to back out a 50/50. He's a monster who will not be bullied, something we needed.
We have witnesses how physicality can unsettle our other CBs, think about Matt Smith of Oldham dominating Skrtel, Sakho is our insurance and assurance that this will not happen going forward.
I think he has been taken out today as Fulham don't have a bully up top, they have skilled ball players which means we need more organisation today, something Skrtel and Agger will offer in abundance with their experience playing together.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sahko has played ONLY a handful of games and the knives are out already. Hendo has been here for over 2 yrs and has only just started to show his true potential and worth. Sahko`s going to be here and will have all the time he needs to flourish so let the clueless fans stop their whining and bitching and get a either support the team or get a freaking life.

Ed002 sorry I didn't see you had answered my capele enquiry, it was dated this week, Wednesday I think? So does this mean anything {Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about regarding Wednesday. There are some obscure pagan issues you might wish to consider with Wednesday - other than that no.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You said check the search function, but with the story being done on Wednesday does this mean there's serious interest, sorry wasn't very understandable

Agree0 Disagree0

So belfast red how much did he cost, more to the point and being serious why does it matter, we have a great squad and manager and are in a far better position than we have been in for years, obviously I have red tinted glasses on but I have faith in the way we are going. very happy role on next week

Afternoon Ed
What's the crack with Aspas mate? He seems to have disappeared after the early season games?
Cheers
JFT96 {Ed002's Note - No cracks, but a sore leg. Out for another month.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Thanks Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's hope the young lad comes back and puts all his doubters to rest. I personally think he is a class act.

Hi eds and fellow reds,
firstly Gerrard isn't past it or a bad player, he is just playing wrong position he needs to be playing further up the pitch where he can do more damage and be more creative, it was only a little while ago Suarez had said Gerrard is the best player he has worked with,
next up, defensive midfield, Lucas has been great but if he gets tired or injured we should use Agger there as I believe he would do the job well and lastly our problems are stemming from having 3 at the back to accomodate our new signings we need to get back to 4- 3- 3 mostly and 4-5-1 against the top teams to stop getting overun .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bootroom I agree gerrard is still a player who in my own opinion can still touch world class. the problem is he is a bit out of form at the moment but in form I truly believe you could put him anywhere on the pitch barring GK and the man would be awesome (as in be in awe of!)
the proof is even out of form he's doing a great job as captain (see current league position!)
peace out people
YNWA

Agree0 Disagree0

MikeD86 has a point. He just needs to step his game up. He was great last season so let`s just support him thru this time and all will be well.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gerrard was terrible at the start of last season Aswell he found his form around this time maybe drop him for a match give him a break not every player has to play every match {Ed002's Note - I think my valued source nailed this perfectly, and in words you should all be able to understand: http://tinyurl.com/pzcfcyh}

Hi Eds I know I will get slated for saying this but.Do you see lucas leaving at all I mean don't get me wrong lucas has
Great its just I think you need pace and quality and lucas just doesn't have pace thanks Eds {Ed001's Note - Pace? Makelele never had pace, it is not essential and no I don't see him moving on, nor do I see any reason to move him on.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

08 Nov 2013 09:46:33
Macherano was pretty quick. But we need pace in the middle, since gerrard is slow

Mascherano had no positional sense Harry so he needed to charge around. He soon got found out when he lost his disciplined partner, Alonso. Barcelona don't even play him in the midfield anymore because he just lacks the positional awareness for it. He is quick to react to danger, but he's just always so far out of position. In defence he seems to focus more though and its given him a new lease of life.

YNWAdam

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that meant to be a joke, Adam? Saying Mascherano has no positional sense is frankly laughable and I'd love to have him back at Liverpool. The reason he doesn't get played in midfield for Barcelona is because they have arguably the best DM in the world in Sergio Busquets.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah I agree with J-L. You take any other defensive mid; Vidal, Martinez, De Rossi none of them are getting their game ahead of Busi

Agree0 Disagree0

Here we go again let's get rid of Lucas and get a better player in like who? Name me 10 better DM in PL. Please for god sake do not name the guy from West Ham. What happens when that so call better player we buy gets injured or starts playing badly or the fans turn on him too. What Liverpool player will come in for him because we stupidly got rid of Lucas. We are better with Lucas in the team then not FACT. I'am not saying Lucas is world class but who is in football today as a DM not many.

Agree0 Disagree0

There are only 20 teams in the PL! Lucas is a reliable player, but I feel he has yet to hit the form he showed before his first injury.

YNWadam.

Mate I know you wanna go at me. But common Not with Mascherano. I ll give you enough time and opportunities to have a crack at me.
You seems pretty good in football, So As I rate the eds, But How has this passed your reviews is beyond me.
Mascherano isn't playing at Barca midfield.
tell me one player who would. Now forget Liverpool, One player form whole EPL.
He is arguably the best DM after Makelele.

Irish

Mate why do we need a DM, If we are playing 3 at the back.? Lucas actually is a CB, who is pretty much in forward position.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mascherano got found out? Is that why barcelona wanted him and payed 18m for him?

Agree0 Disagree0

Feel the need to jump on the bandwagon. Mash, no positional sense? What are you talking about. Best defensive mid in Europe for a few years, we have never been able to replace him. Crazy comment

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that Lucas, Hendo, Gerrard, Sakho, Cissokho have become scapegoats each time we lose or don`t win. They get no credit when we win but get all the blame when we lose. There are fans who don`t like BR but can`t slate him due to results so they attack him through his players that are trying their best to win games for lfc. Get a life, people!

Agree0 Disagree0

Positionally Lucas is excellent, but he is slow, both in terms of pace over the ground and tempo in his passing. I think competition for places is key, so would keep Lucas and get someone else to add more depth.
