Any word on how Alex O'Hanlon is getting on?

I watched him play in the attacking midfield role for the u-17's in preseason, he had an off game but you can see that he has a certain presence about him and did not look out of position. Hopefully he can evolve to become a player like alaba but let's face it we will know more in 2-3 years.

Is there interest in Lisandro Lopez and Gonalons from any clubs?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think you are referring to the FA's under 21 cup competition, I would like to know why we have not signed up for it as well, any clues?

Why have we pulled out this u21 cup thing?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If you are on about the nextgen series, it has been suspended for this season due to lack of definite funding

Agree0 Disagree0

Na its the FA u21 cup or something. Liverpool, united and spurs pulled out

I think illori should be given a crack at rb from what we have heard he is powerfull and very very fast what do u guys think

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Give the lad a chance to unpack his suitcases and prove himself in training against Kelly and co and who knows?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wisdom will start on Saturday and put a solid performance in easy as

I hope he saves his best performance until Monday! ;-)

Eds, With Johnson injured do expect McLaughlin to be given any opportunities in the first team? {Ed023's Note - I would love if it happened as I think in 3 years he will be top dog.. I think Wisdom or Kelly for now will be first choice}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ok thanks

can any1 tell me was Henderson offered to Fulham last season when Liverpool were looking Dempsey for a swap? if he was it was crazy Henderson is getting better and better all the time plus he is still young

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I remember he was offered to someone for just a few million yeah. Would have been a major error by Rodgers to sell him. I would like to think it was a ploy to get more out of him, but I'm not sure. Suppose it did kind of work. he's starting to look like a brilliant young player isn't he. If he played like this from the start then nobody would have given him a hard time over his price tag.

Agree0 Disagree0

You are forgetting - we paid 16 million for a young talent who starred for Sunderland and England U21 as a central midfield player, and then KD proceeded to play him on the right wing, a position totally alien to him.

Agree0 Disagree0

He played on the right for sunderland as well not just central midfield

Agree0 Disagree0

John B nailed it. If Coutinho was played at left back we'd all be saying how sh*t he is. Jordan Henderson was never given the chance to prove his worth in his position and BR is giving him that chance. He is a real talent no doubt

Agree0 Disagree0

At Sunderland he used to make a lot of runs down the right and deliver some quality balls in the box we got him to whip them in for Carroll and we also got downing because the amount of crosses he puts in the box Kenny wanted to build around Carroll and that's why he bought who he bought Adam from corners and everything think about it

Agree0 Disagree0

Erm hendo has played right wing in the first three games of this season

CB partnership vs Swansea should be Agger & Skrtel. Martin put in a MOTM performance against Utd, & has earned his place for the next game. Our other CBs have to just be ready to step up when one of these two gets injured, suspended or is out of form (just as Skrtel was for when Toure got injured). In terms of RB, it's a shame about Johnson but Wisdom done a decent job coming on against Utd & has been waiting for his chance in the first team. Kelly is no doubt a better RB in my opinion but whether or not he's fully fit is another question, & to just put him in ahead of Wisdom would probably not go down too well with the lad. Remember I'm only talking about our next match here against Swansea & I myself would hope to see Martin Kelly regularly playing RB whilst Johnson is out.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree skrtel should start against Swansea, to give sakho time to settle in.
But it won't be long till sakho replaces skrtel.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think wisdom will be a wise choice to defend against a team like swansea. (no pun intended)

yeah he is strong, fast when gets going but his positioning is a bit suspect but he probably will start.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Rogers trusted him against Manchester United so who not Swansea?

Glen Johnson is out for 10 weeks. Big blow! Looks like we're gunna be seeing a lot of wisdom. I'd rather play toure there

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Couldn't agree more. Toure played at right back for Arsenal many times and still has the energy to fill that void while Johnson recovers. Allows Agger and Sakho to find their feet together as a partnership whilst giving Wisdom the run of games at another side while on loan. Still have Skrtel and Ilori as back up should anything happen to Agger or Sakho.

Agree0 Disagree0

What's wrong with Wisdom? He as always played well for Liverpool. Plus Kelly is nearing fitness. Plus its only a rumour about Johnson.

Kelly would be my preference with Flanagan and Wisdom as back-up, once he is fully fit again.

Anyone know if Cissokho has recovered from his knock?

Agree0 Disagree0

Really Toure at right back? The guy is what 32 yrs old now? I am sure he will have fun chasing after speed left midfielders.

Its now that Wisdom and Kelly have to show they have more to offer the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Where did you get the 10 weeks from? That's only rumour.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think wisdom can do the business at right back for us. He more then proved that v Man U. Strong, fast, and controlled in possession.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather Wisdom there aswell, If anything we might be more solid defensively but he does get caught out of position from time to time

if u follow u-21 mcluaghin (spelling sry) is the guy for rb. he is future england rb for sure, absolute quality.
i would really see kelly as a cb given his height and presence . also wisdom as cb he is very well built again.
however both players can be afforded gametime at rb only
so it would be one of them. I think it would be wisdom.

Agree0 Disagree0

McLaughlin is one for the future, but not for England I hope. He's Irish!

Agree0 Disagree0

Akrubbish

Ryan Mc is Irish and still a little too young to be thrown into the first team he needs more time in the U21's, I think next year should see him breaking into the cup squads

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Ryan Mclaughlin is Northern Irish but he is a good prospect.

Agree0 Disagree0

Flanno is not good enough in my opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

Would rather wisdom had a run of games in our team than someone else's. He's good enough for our team right now so I would use him and have Kelly as further back up.
To be honest I can see wisdom or Kelly taking johnsons place either by the end of this season or next anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wisdom has been excellent right full for us oddly enough his worse game was center half but he will play there and if he plays well he will stay there a head a Kelly its all about taken chances when you get one

Agree0 Disagree0

Wisdom, flanagan and kelly will never cement a regular starting place at Liverpool. their not good enough going forward to play right back which is a must for modern day fullbacks. I fear kellys made of glass and not dominant enough to play center half. ryan mglaghlan is our future full back, has everything

Hello Eds, this transfer window just passed seemed to have twists and turns all over the place. A few unexpected deals here and there, a few transfers which looked nailed on not happening etc etc. Would you say this was the most difficult transfer window for you guys to get information?

Cheers. {Ed002's Note - Not for me in particular.}

Hi Ed002,
it`s great to see Liverpool get such a good start to the season. The problem I see is that in all of those games they were dominated by the opponents for quite a long time. Fortunately, they didn`t concede a goal. That is what I`m waiting for before declaring Liverpool are in the hunt for top four - the situation in which they lose a goal or two, are behind and need to dig in to level and win. I wouldn`t like to see Liverpool lose a goal all season long but we all know it`s not going to happen. If they go behind once or twice and will turn the game into a win, then I`ll start to be more confident about the top 4. It`s much too early to call now. But the squad has been improved well and BR work looks to pay dividend. Liverpool is now where they belong - the top of the table. I hope they stay there til the end of the season. Thank you Eds for your hard work throughout the transfer window. All the best to you, the club and the fans. Cheers. {Ed002's Note - Thanks Tom. It is also worth noting that Liverpool's results all year (not just this season) have been pretty good.}

thanx in advance Pujnabi_LFC {Ed002's Note - (1) Perhaps as a sub in the League Cup. (2) He injured his cruciate ligament.}

Seems "technically gifted players" is this season's equivalent to "tiki-taka" in the sense it is the garbage catch-phrase of the season used by persons attempting to sound knowledgeable / fugaisieish. Just enjoy the game and have fun in your beer league. In BR we trust, all others pay cash

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Fugaisieish?

Agree0 Disagree0

That is brilliant. I haven't laughed that hard in a while.

When Comolli was around it was "The Project" now with Rodgers and "The Group"
