So Eds with respect to forwards, you state no forwards will come in in January as we "have no shortage" of forwards". My question is, our forwards are shocking and with the exception of Sturridge (who's is known for his injuries) we have no one who will get even close to 20 goals.
Mario, jury is out but 10 games in and not a lot to show.
Borini, lots of running not a lot of end product.
Lambert, impact sub, may be able to hold up the ball but not a lot of goals.

Now I'm sure you or other posters may say these guys haven't been given a chance but they obviously aren't doing it in training either or the coach BR would play them.

What do we do for goals? I understand BR or the Committee or whoever has bought these players but at the end of the day we don't have a second real striker and Sturridges injuries will always be a concern.

What do we do, keep what we have and fail miserably or sell everyone we can and get someone who has a chance of 10 + goals for the rest of the season?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool cannot rebuild the team every window. Perhaps if Sterling is sold someone will arrive.}

If you were FSG, would you allow LFC to spend more money in January? I wouldn't. We had £115M+ to spend in the summer, which is already a ridiculous amount of money. If the committee can't fashion a competitive team with that, then I would be having a good hard look at everyone come summer.

{Ed002's Note - I am not posting any of you whining, moaning or bitching posts Harry.}

Agree with RDL on the Transfer Committee. Perhaps by giving time, it gives the current forwards a chance to get used to the system we play, particularly Balotelli.

Balo will come good once sturridge returns.
Sturridge pace and drifting will help sterling and balo and the team.
i do believe we need a top top defensive midfielder if we have funds in january we need to spend.
next year we will have rossiter and ibe to replace lucas and borini will safe us a lot of money.
and orogi will be coming.
next summer we will proberly have to replace toure and enrique that's all.
we have talented kids ( brannagan sinclair wilson kent williams and a few others).
Future looks good

Not being funny, but with £115m i reckon i could put together a 25 man squad capable of finishing in the top half of the premier league. That is a lot of money lads. Some clubs haven't spent that in their entire history, let alone 2 months!

We should be title contenders and if we're not by the end of the season, FSG will bring down the guillotine.

GK is the only position we need to fill. Smith can step up to LB and we have Ilori and Wisdom to come back to replace Toure. We need to clear out some numbers, not add any more.

Hardly effort Harry, you got gagged mate. Not down to a lack of trying is it? Lolz.

We don`t need anymore forwards or players at all. If anything, some players need to be shipped out.

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes let's start with the forwards!

Was hoping sterling wouldn't play against San Marino as don't really See him benefitting from the game and besides it being a great chance for Roy to give a player some game time think he needs a rest! Obvs BR missed this with the Boro game but think his dip in form is mental fatigue more then anything! Fingers crossed he is subbed after 60 mins or when we go 4-0 up. Which ever happens first

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Hopefully we'll have sown the game up by half time. He's going for a strong lineup to try an avoid a repeat of the World Cup fiasco, even if it is San Marino.

Any news on the Sakho injury and a possible return date?

With Lovren injured, this could be his chance to really make his claim for a first team spot - the lad clearly believes in his own ability and I hope he can prove it on the pitch.

Ed002 - Even if we were to sell borini in the next window. You still don't think Liverpool will go out and buy a replacement ?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have plenty of forwards and financial concerns. I think it unlikely.}

09 Oct 2014 12:47:36
did lovren play lcb or rcb last season? I thouvht he was rcb?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

09 Oct 2014 13:40:45
He played LCB for Southampton

Agree1 Disagree0

He did play RCB a couple of times when Fonte was out. Think maybe 2 or 3 as I recall, but was mostly LCB paired with Fonte.

Ok thanks guys that leads me to think that br didn't see sakhoas first choice if lovren wants/has to play lcb, I have thought for a while now, tnat br doesn't rate sakho, prefers skertel, so 18mill on a cb to sit on the bench? Puzzled!!

Agree5 Disagree0

So we bought sahko. then decided we needed another centre half so we decided to buy one who prefers to play in sahko's position.
yes. . That sounds about right.

Good morning, just a quick question really, with us spending big in the summer, surley there won't be any new signing in jan, just exits?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I would not expect any major movement.}

What about GK (Valdes?)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - That is a decision for this week of next. If he can prove his fitness, if Liverpool can make an acceptable offer, if FA agree the squad amendment.}

Heading over to anfield for first time in febuary with a Tottenham fan just wondering where would be the best place in the stadium where fans of both teams could sit ? Also any good hotels people could recommend nearby ? I'm absolutely clueless and would like some feedback from the eds or posters . Thanks in advance

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Probably somewhere with a restricted view if Liverpool play as they have done against Spurs in recent history :)

Agree1 Disagree0

You have to go in the kop mate .as a good place to stay if you want cheap there's a hostel on the corner of Mathew street which is the best street in the world, but if you want something more up class there a Beatles hotel just around the corner from Mathew street, can't remember the name but someone will on here .the cavern club is a must as well
