Yes we played pretty well over two legs, but to register over 30 shots and score 1 goal is shameful.
I'm not criticising the players they all worked hard but with a proper goal scorer Chelsea were there for the taking. And that my friends is BR's fault.
To spend 130mil + in the summer but an injury to one player forces you to start a 20yr old winger up front is poor management.

The owners will be thinking where did our money go? We backed you to build a title winning squad and it's all fell apart due to an injury to one player who was already at the club!

I like BR's ideas for football but I don't trust him with money or the academy.

When the owners look at the facts it's

8th in the league
Eliminated in groups of champs league
Didn't win carling cup

In my opinion he's got half a season to save himself

Personally I think he's already as good as gone.
Given that he assured the owners that a title challenge was definitely on the cards, I think even 4th place might not be enough to save him.
And the odds are heavily against us getting 4th place anyway.
And such a miserable CL campaign will have put the seal on it.
A cup was not enough to save Kenny, although that sacking was apparently partly down to the Suarez issues.
I think the axe will hit Ayre as well- after all he runs the business for them doesn't he?
So presumably he oversaw the workings of the comittee that made several key mistakes last summer, including leaving us with one top striker who is always injured for around one third of the season.
Surely not all the blame for our transfer mistakes lies with Rodgers?

I don't think he can save himself at all to be honest.

He is dead in the water. He has cost the owners a fortune and gone backwards. The only favour he has done them is to ease out Carragher and Gerrard - which will make things a bit easier for his successor.

Yea the blame can't solely be at his feet, although I'm sure he has a very infuencial say on the commitee.
The whole management set up needs a revamp, it just doesn't seem to function properly

So a free header infront of an open goal is the fault of the manager? Not to mention greedy players that won't free up other players in better goal scoring positions? The loss of this semi final tie can only be blamed on the players for the ridiculous amount of opportunities squandered

Just a little interested in the half a season to save himself comment. You saying top 4 and fa cup or euro cup and jobs on for next season? What is it, do you think, is enough to keep his job? Your comments on the first half of the season should be enough nails in the coffin

You can't blame every little thing that's wrong with the club on Rodgers no.
But everything Rodgers does control or influences is broken and getting worse.
That's why he will be gone.

Haha you make me laugh, last year rodgers was the new god now your waiting like a pack of wolves to rip him apart. Yes he's spent a lot of money yes some of his buys haven't been what we thought they would be. But its no good swapping from manager to manager its not worked for spuds has it?.
Get behind ya team an ya manager you glory hunters stop being so bloody fickle.

I was blaming last nights lose on the bigger picture, no forward despite spending 130 +
Players out of position etc.
Of course hendo should of burried the header; like I said above I like rogers ideas and the football we play; he just is awful in the transfer market! And I feel that will be his downfall.

I think top 4 is a minimum requirement to save his job + good cup runs, possibly a cup win.

Hard to fault the players only, LionRed, given that BR has bought 7 strikers and we're playing none of them for various reasons in deference to a 20 year old winger. The players (largely) are doing the best they can, many of them being very young and/or well out of their more preferred position.

Guys be careful what you post about BR and his blunders because the "support BR-no-matter-what" brigade will be here spouting out their moral lectures about how we should all close our eyes and act like the blunders you guys speak of NEVER happened just because we "played well vs Chelsea YET lost" and will call you all BR haters hereas, like me, you are stating the facts that are laid bare b4 our eyes.

Lionred, BR has been here 3 years and the defence still cannot defend a set-piece hence, he is to blame for the goal because his defensive system or lack thereof is the same one that has been leaking goals for 3 years and true to type, conceded a cheap goal last night.

Why have a go at our own fans for having a different view to yours?. That's sad.
I am not pro or anti Rodgers.
I am all in for Liverpool.

He will be our manager next year
