Not sure why some are getting excited about the possibility of Ings joining LFC?

Does anyone believe that this is the kind of player that will help LFC win the league? Playing for Burnley compared to LFC is one hell of a difference. No disrespect but Ings is a big fish in a small pond at the moment. He will not improve us and if Ings is the best we can do then I fear for next season.

{Ed002's Note - You need to start one of those good old fashioned hate campaigns that Liverpool fans start against all of their past, present and potential future players. Facebook works; daubing abuse on the stadium has worked well in the past; sky writing and signs towed by light aircraft is becoming more popular. We only have effigies of Liverpool owners, management and players right now - we are right out of the prospective player voodoo doll packs.}

Agree2 Disagree8

Not all liverpool fans behave in such a destructive way eds

{Ed002's Note - Unfortunately a good number do Snowy. Loved you in Tin Tin.}

Remember when Man U signed Tevez from West Ham?
Remember when Man U signed Berbatov from an average Tottenham?
Remember when Chelsea signed Remy from Newcastle?
Remember when Man City signed Bony from Swansea?
Remember when Arsenal signed Walcott from a then average Southampton?
Remember when we signed Henderson from an awful Sunderland side and he went on to become our captain?

I'm sorry mate you need to think of a better argument than "he plays for Burnley". Sure, there are plenty of examples of players failing to step up, but there are plenty of examples of players moving from big teams to smaller teams and failing; Shevchenko, Veron etc. Why not judge him on his ability rather than his current club.

He is lightning fast, strong on the ball, lives attacking the penalty area, can beat a man with tge ball at his feet, will chase down everything all game, and most importantly, he scores over 50% of his clear cut chances. He guarantees goals from open play. He's only 23 and he'd be coming in as cover for the injury prone Sturridge.

Ings has too issues for me; injuries and inconsistency. Both could arguably be attributed to his age.

If we were paying £25m to sign him from Valencia and his name was Pedro Xavi Villa nobody would be complaining.

There is every chance he could flop. Plentyof good players do. No signing Iis risk free though but for a free transfer Ings is about as close as they come.

Sorry if this came across as a bit patronising, your argument just annoyed me. By all means, criticise his ability and give your honest opinion, but not everybody from a smaller club flops. I feel our fans just have little faith due to signings like C.Adam, Aspas and Allen. Your argument is no more well constructed than me saying "you know what lads, players we sign whose surname begins with A always flop; Adam, Allen, Alberto, Aspas, Aquilani".

He might not cope with the pressure here but that is down to the scouts to find out and make a judgement call on by analysing his attitude and mentality. No for us to speculate about because of a few past examples. Unless you know him or contacts around him, the only thing you can realistically judge him on is his ability. If you think he's lacking in that department, fair enough. You're entitled to your opinion.

Have you actually watched Ings play or do you just go by what you see on Match of the day? Ings has got fantastic movement and would be a much better fit to our system and style of play than what Lambert, Ballotelli and Borini are. Sturridge, Ings and Origi would be a good set of strikers for our squad (Or Group as Teddy likes to call them)

We can't go for ings we just can't, I've just checked and yes only a silver player on Fifa haha

All big transfer fees in comparison to the Ings one too.

In my opinion, it's a gamble that ANY Premier League club can make, especially with all of them cleaning up soon with the TV money.

In saying that, It's not even a gamble as the lad is proven in a side that creates far fewer chances.

He'll score many for Liverpool FC.

One other thing, he will be a success if the mouth pieces lay off him too.

It was high flying Chester.

Ings is amazing. Stop trolling.

Can't believe I forgot it was Chester,must be the age. Anyway same horse different jockey lol

Actually it was Chester City. Also remember John Aldridge was signed from Oxford United, Barnes from Watford and Souness from Boro.

My greatest concern is whether he would turn out to be another Charlie Adam, however, on the other hand, he's a hard worker, he's strong physically and mentally, he looks like he has decent technique too.

Personally I'd much rather we signed Lacazette, but that's unlikely.

I would say, If he scores double figures in a relegation threatened team then he could be a bargain.

I would also say that the criticism of Borini is harsh, as he's not really been given much chance(and when he has, he has always given a decent account of himself through his graft).

(I do stand by my criticism of Allen, Johnson and the 2014/15 version of Gerrard).

Ings is also good in the air
He is also a very level headed player who is scoring with big teams sniffing he still plays his game also like at the price why not have a look at him

Wouldn`t mind Ings as rotational striker w/ Origi, Studge and another top striker. He is quality and provied he has the tmprament to handle the pressure at a big club (we have to b sure about this) then I`ll be fine with him here.

Where Keegan and Clemence not signed from Doncaster too ??

{Ed001's Note - were they not signed from Scunthorpe United?}

EMS, it is simply not right. Not all players starting with an A is a flop. What about Anelka, Agger and Alonso? I think they all did very well and liked them quite a lot. But players starting with a D or B though, like Degen, Downing or Dossena, Bjørnebye, Babel, Balotelli or Borini. I think we should avoid those letters.

Haha, quality lavije.

On a serious note though, wich letter have the worst track records for LFC?

Ed002, I did not say I hate Ings. I am just giving my honest opinion that he is not a player that is going to improve our chances of winning the league and it would be yet another step towards denying a chance for someone stepping up through the academy.

If I am not mistaken, I read a while back that Ed001 was also not to keen on Ings joining.

{Ed002's Note - Ok Max.}
