Ed 1 how's life chief? Great insight as always. Just a quick question.I get the feeling you are not Rodgers biggest fan and I respect your opinion, but I like the style of football we are playing now and second half of last year. its so much better than Rafa let's worry about the opposition even if its the dog and duck benitez. Anyway my point is can he redeem himself or what would you and people in the club like to see him do. because I for one would love to see him be a success at the club.

{Ed001's Note - I like the current style of play, I enjoyed the style of play we employed at the end of last season too, what I don't enjoy is his preferred style of play. I rate him as a coach, but he is out of his depth as a manager.

Of course he can redeem himself, I want him to prove me wrong by winning trophies. If he does that then it would be crazy to sack him. However, he needs to learn to close his trap and keep his foot out of it. He also needs to accept help with those things that he struggles with, such as defending. On the whole though, challenging each season, rather than being out of touch by Christmas, and being in the running in Europe and the cups is all I ask for. Most of all, he has to stop reverting to pass, pass, pass at the beginning of the season. If he does make that mistake again then it should be immediate dismissal, as you can't have a young learner in a role when he refuses to learn.}

Agree2 Disagree2

He has to get us top-4. If He succeeds then he has done a remarkable job considering how poor we were earlier.
BR has more chance of winning a trophy next year than a new manager to the club.

{Ed001's Note - what happens if the new manager were Ancelotti or Mourinho (not that either of them will be coming) would Rodgers have more chance than either of those? If not, what is saying that the next guy chosen couldn't be the next man to be rated amongst the great managers?}

Ed01. I agree with your points, But Like the Eds previously stated, Owners need assurances over Trophies.
BR's biggest mistake was this promise ( 3 Year time scale ).
Owners would also be aware the new man to come in would come with a shopping list.
I still think He would keep his job if We get inside top-4 by hook or crook.
There are a lot of managers outside better than BR, But they all would need time to succeed.
LVG is the biggest living example.

{Ed001's Note - I would dispute LVG being any better, he has always worked to someone else's plan when he was successful. It was a terrible decision to appoint him by United and they are already regretting it within the club.}

Ed01, That's the point. LVG was the best possible and big name they could have bought.
Jose at Chelsea
Carlo at Real
Pep at Bayern

We must be very careful with regards to manager.

I liked when the media said he presented a 'dossier' when it was clearly just 5 pages with pictures stapled together. :D

{Ed001's Note - they do like to stir things up to make a mountain out of a molehill. Mind it was embarrassing that he felt the need to reply to Sam Allardyce! Most people would have just laughed at the idiot.}

Which shows how insecure he is and I for one, did not want him here when he was being touted to replace KK and FSG was right to appoint BR over him. Ed01 is right. If BR can focus on coaching, play the system our players love playing in, get help where he is clearly wanting in, swallow his pride and do away with "his" system and cut out the other BS, he will b brilliant here and like Ed said, if we`re challenging (which we are doing now) and not wasting half a season dithering, I would not want another manager.

Big Sam is funny. He sickened Mourinho last season, and he always tries to annoy Rodgers and Pellegrini with comments .

Edd001, Rodgers may get us into the top 4 but we will have skrtl in the heart of defence next season, and goalkeeper purchased that probably still won't be good enough and the same problems with the wrong players and youngsters not getting chances. It's just a recurring circle every season. He has to make way imo but probably won't because he will have a few decent results behind him by the end of the season but he isn't the man for me.

{Ed001's Note - what if a DoF was above him that got rid of Skrtel and brought in a keeper who was good enough, would you then be happy with Rodgers staying?}

Would the DOF or the coach have the say in Substitutions during a match.
I must agree Rodger's substitutions are terrible.

{Ed001's Note - no.}

I know Mignolet was terrible at the start of the season but of recent he has been brilliant each and every game, as for me has Skrtel in the new formation. De Gea was poor for United but turned it around Mignolet if he continues this way shouldn't be replaced just be given competition

Edd001, if he was coaching the team and that is all I would be happy for him to be in charge but do you really expect him to be here if we get a doF? Definitely not he is far too stubborn and egoegotistical. He is like Rafa in that it can never see Rodgers accepting to work under a DOF that gets rid of skrtl and recruits the players. His media chat is atrocious and he has regressed in that area which creates it's own.problems.

{Ed001's Note - sadly it does seem he would refuse to accept a DoF with us.}

Then we might as well have another manager in place by then. I will be sad to see him go because he has had us playing fluid footie (when he is not forcing "his" system down everyone`s throat). But if he refuses the recommendations then, he must go.
