Let's get everything straight so that we can all move on
In each of the three seasons Brendan Rogers has been in charge The first half has been with the exception of one or two matches poor starts.
In the second of each season we have played some brilliant football but this deludes owners and certain fans that next season will be the year.
But there are fans out there that know that whilst it is a roller coaster ride, in the end certain decisions still need to improved upon.
For example Rodgers should not have not opened his mouth to the press about sterling (This being one example).
Also the ed's are NOt stating that BR should be sacked because they believe he has got some good qualities, it is that he should be more open minded and realise that in the modern world of football one man is no longer enough.
Everyone knows that mourinho is always on the TVs or in the press this is because he has the setup correct behind the scenes
Ok I will except that he likes the adulation as well.
But honestly hand on heart who can stand up now and say that we will have a better first half of season next season than the last three.

Agree3 Disagree4

Agree. how many times does this have to happen before someone makes a change?! Personally I believe that the only reason we are not challenging this season or at least have top 4 secured is BR. I really like the guy as a coach and I wish he could be our coach for many years, but its obvious he can't do it on his own

We were so poor in the first half of the 2013/2014 season that we were top of the league on Christmas Day

{Ed001's Note - performances were not good early on in the season though. Similar to Man Utd this season, playing poorly but picking up results.}

Why do people insist on saying we had a poor start to last season?

We had lost only three games by Christmas including a tough one at the emirates.

In this time we also thrashed Norwich 5-1, West Ham 4-1, Fulham 4-0, and completely rolled over spurs away, admittedly these weren't all top sides but its still hardly the behavior of a team you would say is playing poorly and scraping results.

I remember us being poor against Southampton and Hull but plenty of goals and not many conceded . Lots of 1-0s too which i'd take any day

BR is guilty of so many things. One being constant bashing of Mario every time he opens his mouth.

I really can't get my head around it when people say we were poor or played poorly first half of last season. We played some of the best football that we've played in the last 15 years

{Ed001's Note - but we didn't in the first half, that was the second half when we were brilliant. The first half was very mixed.}

Nobody plays amazing every game of the season winning and packing bad for certain parts of the season is a good thing

Agree with the OP. We cannot wait for BR to always sleepwalk though the first half of every season. dithering and wasing our time as a club by being stubborn and playing that dreadful tiki taka system that gets us nowhere every time we employ it. We will NEVER win the PL (which the owners crave to get their ROI) nor the CL. That is a fact. BR needs to focus on coaching (he is damn good at it) and cut out the other useless BE and blunders as well as get help w/ transfers (DOF) and fix the defence (defensive coach or whatever). If he can do that s well as use our academy, I will gladly plead w/ the owners to keep him because he has proven that he can get the best out of players under him. Afterall, he built the Suarez that was the best srtiker in the PL and one of the most feared in the world for two yrs, made Studge the beast he is today and gave Couts and Raheem the careers they have now.

How can you finish level on goal difference with the Champions and have a bad first half of the season?

Impossible.

The best indicator of whether Brendan Rodgers is doing a good job is not this website(sorry Eds) but the travelling away support.
That's a fact.
And to a man they all back our manager.
Honestly, everyone is entitled to their opinion but I'll keep repeating it.
If we are stupid enough to sack this manager then we will be making a massive mistake.

Lets look at his record for every game he has been manager for LFC: 157 games: 86 WINS 33 DRAWS 38 LOSSES.
Scored 302 goals Conceded 180 goals.
That is a win ratio of 54.49%.
Yes let's sack that manager and get a better one!!!!
So we win over half the time we play with this manager in charge.
When you see how young he is as well you can only think this ratio is going to go up and not down if he learns as he goes along.
Alex Ferguson finished his career at United with a 58% win ratio.
He was nowhere near that level in his first 3 seasons as manager yet Brendan Rodgers is.
But yes let's sack him.

{Ed001's Note - how are the away support the best indicator? Ridiculous thing to say, they were still behind Dalglish too, but he was not doing a good job the second time round (much as I hate to say that!).}

We will have to disagree again Ed001.
I have worked out your identity now.
Are you my wife??
We never agree.

{Ed001's Note - we will have to as the fans are the last people to adjudicate on this matter. Especially the away fans, who are very unlikely to turn, they supported Ged right until the end, as that is what they do. It just shows how entirely and utterly useless Hodgson was in the role that he managed to turn against him the staunchest fans.

As for your wife, no, she just wishes she was as young and beautiful as me ;o)..... wait she doesn't read this site does she? In which case I meant I just wish I was as young and beautiful as her!}

Ha ha ha ed001. Brilliant.
I think they are a good barometer Ed for the very reason you mentioned.
Loyalty.
They are not fly by night fans. they pay their hard earned wages to travel all over supporting the team.
They do not put up with dross for too long either.
I do agree that they are more loyal than most and that's what I mean by using them as an indicator of whether or not Rodgers has their backing. They are not fickle like me. ( I wanted him gone earlier in the year)
The way they constantly sang the managers name at the weekend says everything for me.
They were singing it when we were behind as well because they knew like I knew that we were going to score eventually.
I've not met one yet who wants the manager out.
I was not dissing this website by the way. This website is my mistress!!
And the cougar website above!!
Just to add. She is 39 yrs young and very beautiful (just in case she does read the site)!!!

{Ed001's Note - they sing Dalglish's name regularly too, I don't see that as an indicator at all. They never wanted him out. It is not a good barometer at all, they are blind loyalty, great in that respect, but not in terms of judging most fans, nor a good way of telling whether a manager should stay or go.}

Actually we were doing well at the beginning of last season, was the awful scheduling of the City anf Chelsea games and some pretty shocking refereeing in those games that slightly threw us. Then we went on that run.

Come on Ed they sing Daglish's name for obvious reasons. .
Fact is if they did not support the manager then they would not be singing his name constantly during a match would they?
