Eds, there's been a lot of talk about pjanic. And while many hope it's true, I for one cringe anytime we're linked with a player that excels in the Italian league. It doesn't seem to matter how great a player is supposed to be, the move from Italy to the Prem just never works out. Whether that's due to the pace or physicality or style of play I'm not sure. But my question is, can you think of any players (not just for Liverpool) that have made the switch and been successful? I've been racking my brain and can't seem to think of any. And a follow up to anyone who reads this, who do you think has been the most successful Italian (by nationality) in the premier league?

{Ed002's Note - Pjanic is not Italian and would cost a lot more than Liverpool would be able to pay. Zola has probably been the most successful.}

Zola was the most successful, wonderful footballer and an infinitely likable bloke too boot.

FFP may not be keen on a Pjanic buy

Lucas seems to have done pretty well for us.

I can't believe no one gave a shout for Benito Carbone. :)

Lucas who we bought from a Brazilian team??

Especially if it's a last minute Pjanic buy.

I now realize coutinho came from inter. Surely he's been a success. I have proven myself wrong. There are some players that can make the transition from series a to the prem. But few.
