It is nice that Sakho being injured gave Lovern some game time and chance to show he can mix in with Skertl and Can. I do hope though that when Sakho is fit (which he is now I think) it is clear to BR that he should start as he is a way better defender than Lovern. I am saying this because in the past I was under the impression that BR doesn't rate Sakho for some reason and the French man said if he wouldn't get first team game time he will not stay which I think would be a shame. I really hope that has changed now.

I'd like Sakho to start myself too. If Lovren keeps improving though I'd like to see him stay in the side as I think long term he's a better option in defence than both Skrtel and Can.
Skrtel's not going to get dropped so I'd move Can up to midfield. Allen has been playing well alright but Can is a different animal.

I think our defense has looked a lot more shakey with Lovren partnering those two.

I would take Allen out and put Can in midfield so lovren, skrtle and sakho can stay in defence.
It's a shame as Allen has had a few good games, but I think this formation would be better. Use Allen as cover.

Long term I think Can should move forward but not at the moment.
Stats wise we have an incredible record when Sahko plays so I would bring him back in but then again we had a clean sheet last night so these are questions which the manager is paid to answer.

I rate Sakho as our best defender and also Can better than Allen but would be very unfair to bring Sakho straight back in at the expense of Lovren or Allen based on their recent performances.
What that would due for squad morale would be damaging as if you lose your place for whatever reason and your replacement does the business, then he keeps his place, simples.
Sakho back on bench till opportunity arises for me.

I hate to admit this as I have been a very vocal critic of his, but Allen has played his way back in to the team, I would prefer Lucas as I feel his tackling ability is something we need in midfield, but Allen has deputised ably and deserves his place on form, him and Henderson have played well as a partnership.

I feared the worst when we lost Lucas going into this tough schedule. But credit to the boy because he has been a monster in midfield especially vs City where he dominated Toure and Fernandinho. Take a bow, son.

Elderslie - I totally disagree on that. It is not a queue in the shop that if you realise you forgot something on the shelf you get back to the end of the line. At this stage of the season whoever is even slightly better plays, full-stop, no more experiments. And if someone else played when he got injured well done for doing his job and he gets back to the bench. Lovern was ok but not more than that and we lost the EL with him. If Terry or Cahill are injured, they get back straight to the starting 11 when they recover and this should be the case with Sakho. Why wait until we lose an important game to bring him back?
