Good he will ruin them 😂

07 Mar 2015 16:47:25
You can't ruin an endless pit of money. If he went there they'd win the champions league within 3 years. They'd play boring football but they'd be successful

{Ed002's Note - There is no endless pit of money - they are already operating under sanctions which restrict their spending, they have paid a €30M fine and have another €30M fine suspended for now, they have had their squad cut from 25 to 22 for European games.

And there is another job Benitez would much prefer.}

Everton? :D

Where is Benitez looking at going Ed?

{Ed002's Note - He would like the Liverpool job.}

07 Mar 2015 19:26:35
What job is that Ed002?

07 Mar 2015 20:23:00
Rafa as DofF?

{Ed002's Note - I very much doubt that will happen.}

I think Rafa will hold out to the very last for the Liverpool job. It all depends on whether LFC finish in the top4 or not. If we get top4 and the FA Cup, then i think Brendan will get another season. If we finish outside the top4, then its pretty obvious FSG will kick Brendan out. That may be Rafa's best chance of getting a second shot in the Anfield hot seat. But personally i would prefer De Boer with an experienced DOF if Brendan gets the sack.

Rafa wouldn't be too bad, just as long as he keeps the depth of squad.
Sorry my memories faulting, why did he leave the first time though. ?

Rafa was on eof those that helped us get into such debt in the 1st place, he's done quite frankly bugger all at Napoli, in an extraordinarily weak league. He doesn't play the most entertaining football, he hasn't won a title since when he was with valencia.

{Ed002's Note - He won the Europa League the season before last.}

08 Mar 2015 21:29:26
No doubt about that Ed, I don't think I said he didn't win anything at Chelsea.

09 Mar 2015 10:46:30
I don't see how you can blame a manager for debt.
They ask the board for money.
It is up to the board to say yes or no isn't it?

{Ed002's Note - The managers have persuaded the boards to invest in the likes of El Zhar, Aspas, Alberto, Carroll, Aquilani, Ilori,Degen, Moses ..... - so they can be blamed.}

09 Mar 2015 18:06:25
Yes but you missed out Kuyt, Torres, Alonso, Mascherano, Arbeloa, Agger, Coutinho, Sturridge and Can.
Every manager will have a hit and miss record in the transfer market and every club invests in different players every season.
Maybe that is why Directors of football are becoming more and more common.
Because managers alone can't be trusted.
At the end of the day it is the owners and the boards who hold the ultimate power in my opinion.
They can always say no we won't be buying him or him. And I am sure that has happened with Rodgers already and with our previous managers.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has been light years worse than other EPL sides over the past few years.
