Sturridge actually wanted to play more than Rodgers wanted. The manager is and rightly so blamed for a lot but sturridge is injury prone. This summer we definitely need in a 20 plus goal striker.
Big blow for us. Can't see us making CL atall now. a lot of change needed this summer not players but structure of club. To have sturridge out and no quailty striker to replace him is criminal

Sturridge is our only real goal threat in that position, I can't see any of the others getting one goal between them, I think we can safely assume that is Brendans P45 signed and sealed.

They all got plenty of opportunities. Sterling did OK in the striker role given that he is better in midfield. The rest got many chances and were just not up to it. Markovich can run on the line and defend, he is not a finisher. All these people who say if only you will give this or the other chance. Ibe showed in the first 20 minutes on the pitch that he is good enough for us. Borini and Lambert got much mroe than that and they are not good enough. They can score an occasional goal, with some luck. Not more than that. as for Baloteli, I wrote enough here what I think about him, will not repeat it.

Edd002 for the length of time sturridge is missing not one of them is a quailty goalscorer.
Sterling has been poor all season and is not a goalscorer. Imo borini, ballotelli and lambert will likely depart this summer and origi is no world class" striker. Funds will be a problem

Agree to an extent but unfortunately BR is not willing to switch up our tactics in the way they need to be switched to make Lambert and Balotelli a real goal threat. Borini, Sterling and Markovic all fit better tactically but their finishing is fairly suspect (or at least has been for this year so far).

Agree Markovic hasn't been clinical but it is his first year and that crazy volley he had that flashed wide was an amazing effort. Why is everyone so quick to write off all our players? After so long without class up top Torres ad suarez come in and all of a sudden it's come to do this. Just because your wife doesn't look like the girl from the blurred lines video( I had to look it up myself glad I did) doesn't mean she can't be a suarez with some time at the gym.
