Eds, with the whole sterling saga is it fsg again trying to squeeze every pound from everything, sterling is by and large our best player, from his point of view he doesn't want to be on the same wages as skrtel/lallana estimated 80k pw . Sturridge is rumoured to be on 150k a week and sterling is probably more important to the club than he is.
I'd hate to see us lose our best young player and with the departues of Suarez and next Gerrard fsg can match his demands, it seems like ayre and fsg are too strict on negotiations such as when we could have signed mikhytaran/willian etc.
Personally I want ayre gone and a new dof who can try to have us doing what Chelsea are doing

The club has to live within its means, that's the bottom line! They will be able to pay more, I would imagine, once the stadium expansion is bringing in more corporate revenue and under the tv deal. Plus it might help if we regularly qualified for the CL

I thought we were ment to be leading the way among the premiership with the way we include performance related pay/bonuses into new contracts.
If this is to be believed, all the haggling could be over this?
The basic is set similar to all the other players, but you can negotiate on the bonus.
Not sure if it works like this but seems a fair way to do things.
Players really pushing themselves to reach theses bonus markers and get rewarded well for reaching them.
