A non sterling post😏
Who would you have liked to have seen in the prem? Someone who's never played in it. For me, Zidane.

{Ed007's Note - Gabriel Batistuta, by far one of the finest - and most underrated - strikers ever to play the game.}

Agree5 Disagree0

I don't normally comment on eds' comments but I loved batistuta! Brilliant striker- slightly more technical shearer but similar everything else. I would have haver loved to see cannigia in his prime too.

Messi just so that everyone can see that be can only excel whne the entire team is built around him in a slow slow league

ohhh ed007, my all time favourite player, watched him when i was a kid. didn't move to a challenging club sadly. would have loved to see more of him.

{Ed007's Note - He was always in the shadows with the Fat Ronaldo being the 'superstar' of the day. Here's a wee bit of nostalgia for you mate,

Theres so many totti r.carlos pirlo there really is so many legends who never graced the league (is there a reason for that ??? )

Zlatan just for the circus that would go with it! Other than that Ronaldinho circa early to mid 2000s would have been special

Not bad for a lad that wanted education more than a career if football.

It's a difficult one, as appreciating players can be difficult when they play for your rivals. For instance, I would love to watch Hazard, Sanchez, Aguero etc being amazing for European sides, and whilst appreciating that all 3 are great players, I don't take pleasure in watching them doing well for teams we are competing with. Hence why I am pleased that many of my favourite players have never played for any of our rivals. If I had to pick a player however to watch week in week out it would have to be Brazilian Ronaldo, what a player he was in his prime.

Batigoal as a complete beast of a striker. He nor Messi IMO, was however NOT in the same class as O Phenomeno, the player that legends Clarence Seedorf and Yuri Djorkaeff (both played with him at Inter) said and I quote, "Ronaldo? The best player I have ever seen". And trust me when he was terrorizing defences at club and international level, he not not labeled "Fat Ronaldo" but labeled as arguably the best striker EVER. He succeded in every league he played in (Italy, Holland, Spain and Brazil) and with his pace, skill and power, he would have scored a bucket load in the PL.

{Ed007's Note - Nobody asked what Seedorf or Djorkaeff said though, it was about who we thought. Maradona said Batistuta is the greates goal-scorer he has seen in his life but we'd have just stopped at what players said about Paul Scholes if we were just going with quotes.}

I just mentioned those quotes to make a point and nothing more.

{Ed001's Note - that Ronaldo was special, he played more for the team than his namesake and yet still racked up goals. Such a shame he lost his way.}
