Is the man for real?
He just can't stop yapping about himself!
No-one is apparently better to take the club forward and did I even hear 'Tactical Genius' mentioned oh dear
Either just like at Reading and according to their chairman Rodgers is completely deluded or he's trying to manufacture his big fat 10 million pound pay off (if that's true lol)
I know there has been countless posts on it all but I for one have had enough now like many others and still can't believe the media love in for the man
Oh and just for the people knocking Rafa, whether he ever came back or not and whether you enjoyed his football or not the man has more decorum and class and football nous than Rodgers will ever have and that's a fact, i'd take him in a heartbeat if offered right now

Reporter "Are you confident that you will be the man here next season driving the club forward as your are now?"

Rodgers "Very much so, yeah. I don't think there is anyone better. That's the reality of how I see it, you know!? Three months ago I was a tactical genius and um, performing to a good level and we've lost a couple of games, some important games and now you're not so good, but that is football, that is what will happen, people will speculate. I feel the same as I did back then, so I never get too carried away when we win and I never overly disappointed when we lose because you have to look forward to the next game."

Context is a beautiful thing TheMeeowmers, you should try it some time, just a thought.

Ollie come on mate. Tactical genius . , no one could do a better job. The man is deluded!

23 Apr 2015 18:09:07
I'm still trying to figure out who called him a tactical genius? And United fans calling you that doesn't count.

23 Apr 2015 18:27:45
Taught he answered that well enough haha

Rafa spouted some serious shabite near the end of his 'reign'.

It was becoming painful to watch at times.

Some people have short memories.

Poor example.

Just the same old posters trying to make something out of nothing.

23 Apr 2015 20:09:54
Get off his case, you really make me laugh. Last season he was god and up to the last few games he was a tactical generous. Now he's not fit to coach the black bull pub team, geta grip an stop being so bloody fickle.

Rodgers didn't say he was a tactical genius, he was saying that was what some people in the media were making him out to be, he mentioned that he didn't get too carried away with it, win or lose and that he looks to the next game. Context!

As for "how confident are you?" Rodgers replied "Very" it's an answer any manager in any industry should give, otherwise they might as well hand the baton to someone else. This was that context I was talking about, but some folks for all their troubles and strife don't seem able to understand, or are too invested in their emotions that they need to sensationalise every little thing that is said without using any context.

For the record after the Villa game I put forward my ideas that maybe Rodgers has run out of steam and that these non performances are starting to get to me as a fan. It's not about what I want, this is about justifying what the manager said to fellow fans that seem unable to read, listen and analyse simple language, again context. Rodgers has drained my patience, I am feeling a little urked and annoyed by the non performances myself just for clarification, but Rodgers didn't say he was a tactical genius, he was holding some folks in the media responsible for saying that and after the loses to Man Utd, Arsenal and Villa he's suddenly no good anymore and that he isn't too bothered and is only focused on the next game.

What Brendan was saying was that 3 months ago pundits were calling him a genius for the tactical switch to a back 3, which, after an early hiccup, had worked very well and heralded a great sequence of results. When that run came to an abrupt end, the praise quickly turned to criticism. In effect, all Brendan was saying is that he doesn't take note of what the pundits say, whether it is positive or negative, he just gets on with his job. I think it is fair to say that the anti-Rodgers posters have deliberately taken what he said out of context in order that they can spout their "Rodgers Out" manifesto. I'm not his greatest fan either, but one thing I think we can all agree on - if Brendan does get the sack it will be because of poor results, and not because of what he says at press conferences.

23 Apr 2015 20:50:29
He definitely did say no one could do a better job!! So he's the best manager in the world effectively. No wonder the players are sick of him

23 Apr 2015 21:26:41
If what the eds is true, that he was warned multible times about what he says to the press, then I am sure that the fact that he doesn't think before he speaks to the press will be one of the reasons he will be sacked

23 Apr 2015 21:32:52
Why I don't listen to football interviews, my life isn't anywhere near long enough.

23 Apr 2015 21:58:02
what he forgot to say tho was prior to those 3 months ago he never had a clue! he also said "this isn't a team of ready made winners?" along with the we are where we belong ( 5th and 2 semi's) is a backward step from Kenny's team! 2 finals ( won 1 lost 1) 5th,6th or 7th makes no difference. if your not 1st! proven himself to have failed and he dosent even know it!

23 Apr 2015 22:09:39
The real issue with today is that he said that 5th place is where we should be. After spending £200m+ we should be challenging for the league and making it out the group stage of the champions league. Considering when he joined he said in 3 seasons time we'd be in the top 4, he's made himself look a bit dim.

23 Apr 2015 23:01:39
The gift that keeps on giving. The reporters bait him and he takes the bait all the time. "Will you be here driving the team forward as you currently". Really? If that is not a trap question, I don't know what is. The reporter baited him and he took the bait. Cluelessness its .best

23 Apr 2015 23:46:30
A bit dim? How about outright creepy an delusional.

24 Apr 2015 06:02:45
well he did say he didn't get overly disappointed on loosing. I bet his players are heartbroken when they loose a game of football. if you aren't overly disappointed loosing games against manchester united and FA cup semifinal, as a liverpool FC manager ,it is really a pity.
all losses are bitter and have to be taken bitterly so that you can come back nastier bitter and more purposefully.
