I have heard words like "complete embarrassment" and "our biggest ever mistake" to describe Rodgers in the last 24-48 hrs.
I think that is a massive over reaction.
Just saying.

Massive over reaction, what massive over reaction?

You are quite simply being illogical

It is evident that Rodgers is out of his depth.

I don't think so.
He could be sacked.
He could stay another year.
I see the arguments for both.
Is this manager really the worst mistake the club has ever made?
When you start seeing those type of posts then you have to think that is a bit over the top.

He has been embarrassing though, especially in the media. And he has failed pretty much all of his objectives since he joined LFC.

27 Apr 2015 11:41:00
AG.
What was the objective last season then?

27 Apr 2015 12:48:22
His objective during his first season was finish in Top 4 - failed. In the second season, was to challenge for the title - achieved, win a trophy - failed. His objectives for this season was: Challenge for the title - failed, win a trophy - failed, a good run in the CL - failed.

So that's 5/6 failures if you are happy if that, keep up this incredible strange defense of Rodgers' failures.

27 Apr 2015 13:04:57
2nd season aim was to challenge for the league?
Really.
That was not the objective.
It was a top 4 finish.
It became an objective because the team did really well.
I am just after a bit of balance AG.
If Rodgers goes then he goes.
I am not in love with Rodgers.
But I don't think he has been awful either.

{Ed001's Note - I think people have forgotten how bad Hodgson and Souness were if they think Rodgers is our biggest mistake. Rodgers has not done well enough with the resources at his disposal, but he is not the worst we have had.}

I am just as frustrated as everyone else at the way this season has gone.
I along with most people thought that this season we would at least be challenging for the league.
How wrong was I.
And even this year when we have been on the cusp of clawing back something from our terrible start we have then shot ourselves in the foot.
If Rodgers were to stay on next year that would be my biggest fear.
"Are we nearly men under this manager"?
You have to say yes at the moment.
And if he was to be sacked in the summer then that would be where I would place his time at Liverpool. Nearly.
But Hodgson was a "not even in the same stadium" manager when compared to Rodgers.
I suppose that is the feedback I am getting on this site.
There are those who think time is up for Rodgers and those who think another season is about right.
I would not even promise the whole of next season if he were to stay.
I would look at the league after 6-10 games and if we are not at the top or near the top then I would yank him out.
I can't stress enough how important I feel it is to sell everyone we don't want before buying anyone regardless of who is in charge.
We have to take stock of what we have and what the future is for players already with us before signing anyone else.
If that means we miss out on Depay then so be it.
That is why I am getting twitchy already because the rumours have started about buying players when we have about 10-13 players who we need to move on.
It is gross mismanagement.
Is that Rodger's fault?
If it is then maybe it is best he goes.
Clear the decks of the playing staff.
Clear the decks for the management? Yes if we can get Klopp and no for anyone else.
That is my position.

I agree Ed, sourness was a disaster but was left with an aging squad but got shot of too many key players too quickly. He lasted 3 years in an age where managers were given far more time. Hodgson also inherited a dodgy squad but seemed to think draws were wins and losses were draws but at least we got rid fairly quickly. BR had 3 years and an awful lot of money which is why is up there in terms of disasters!

27 Apr 2015 16:03:38
jonnybarnes mate, those were his objectives and that is what the Eds have said here. I believe the eds over the media any day man.

27 Apr 2015 19:11:08
Fair play to you AG.
More power to your elbow.
My opinion is that in his first year the objective was the same as his second season.
Champions league football.
He failed first year but succeeded in year 2.
In year 3 it looks nailed on that he will fail with the same objective.
Or to put it another way, If we were in the top 4 right now then I don't think the majority of people on this site would be asking for him to go.
At the moment I think the majority do want him to go.
I understand that Rodgers himself said he would be winning the league this year.
Silly comment to make.
I don't think you can guarantee anything in this league.
