We all have to get real in r expectation of we're liverpool r right now, we can't compete with at least 4 teams in the the league financially r even professionally as the team has shown lately and earlier in the season .if we were a top team we wouldn't have so many players the manager doesn't like r trust the lack of fight in the team when the chips r dwn is the worse I have ever seen and how a manager can sit and watch as it is obvious the lack of strikers is unforgivable changes have to be made I don't know what they r but the current process is not working I would probably start with brendans p45 and put manquillo, Enrique, Allen, toure, ballotelli, borini, Gerrard legend going anyway, Lambert out the door money brought in r saved in wages can go towards players even just 2 top class players good enough to compete with top 4 clubs and my shout for brendans replacement is koeman.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have been spending more than the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea - the only reason the club cannot compete is because of bad choices over players and having a manager/coach who is light years out of his depth. Look for answers and not excuses.}

Spot on Ed.

The comparison with Chelsea is a bit milseading because they were abel to keep all their big players as long as they wanted to. We had to sell Mascherano, Xabi alonso, Torres and finally Suarez. Arsenal are more similar to us in that they had to say goodbye to RVP and Fabregas, two top players and still kept themselves in the top 4 (although not fighting for the title). As I keep saying it is not only about buying great players but also about keeping them.

{Ed002's Note - I know, Liverpool are so hard done by. There should be someone else you can blame for this.}

Ah that's easy, I blame bob Pendelton, the Everton scout who took Wayne Rooney to Everton when he was 9. had we land him in our academy back then, the history would look very different.

Not that misleading, they were able to keep players because the won trophies consistently. We finished second then if memory serves correct tried replacing alonso with barry (why he left) then replaced him with aquilini. Instead of adding the 1 or 2 quality signings needed to get us over the line.

Also arsenal lost Henry, Fabregas, Nasri, Song, clichey, and RVP as well as Bendtner & Chamakh-attack. but managed to stay in top 4, not spend money they didn't have, & paid off a stadium.

We have had the money and wasted it for so long , I think it comes down to the fact that we can't compete wages wise with the other big teams.

The transfer fees haven't been an issue.

Top earners at Liverpool are 120grand a week say , but you go to Manchester and there on double that.

{Ed002's Note - Only a handful of clubs in the world have a higher wage bill than Liverpool - so why are Liverpool only ranked 40 some odd in Europe? It is another pitiful excuse.}

30 Apr 2015 13:02:39
Im not making excuses ed , we have had the money to spend simple as that which we have wasted.

But it also a fact that top earners at Chelsea,city and united will shadow that of our top earners.

Most of our wage bill Is wasted paying top dollar to players who can't even get a game , that is where our problems are.

No excuses just pointing out a fact

{Ed002's Note - Of the 41 teams ranked above Liverpool in Europe, all but 7 have lower wage bills than Liverpool. It is simply something else to look to as an excuse.}

30 Apr 2015 15:15:18
Exactly ed and 4 of them are in the prem sitting above us

30 Apr 2015 16:52:09
I would say that most of the 41 teams above us wouldn't be above us if they played in our league. Because they wouldn't finish high enough to qualify for Europe so therefore wouldn't get the points they get now.Or to put it another way if for arguments sake we played in the Dutch league I predict we would have qualified for CL every season and then there wouldn't be 41 teams above us.Don't forget we play in the hardest league to qualify for CL

{Ed002's Note - You can add that to the list of feeble excuses for this being any ones fault but Liverpool.}

30 Apr 2015 18:18:44
We simply are not punching our weight where as last year we maybe did a bit more although no Europe league helped us as well . We need to improve

Sorry ed I will re phase my posts.

The last thing I want is my posts to sound like excuses because that couldn't be further from my thoughts.

If only all our recent managers had stopped with this obsession of building a massive squad capable of winning the quadruple and focused on buying quality rather than quantity, then maybe we wouldn't be in this mess.

Again you look at our squad and there's probably 10 players which we need to offload in the summer most likely losing money on them all.

We have had the money to buy players and blown the lot so instead of getting fringe players and paying then 60grand a week we should have looked at a couple of world class players and paid them the wages they want.
