edo1 I think when james pearce of the echo is saying his job is hanging by a thread then this is a good sign he will be sacked because don't the echo wright what Liverpool want them to? and even rodger was nearly crying in interview and saying if they want me to go I will hears hoping hearing he is having ameting with gordon tonigt

{Ed001's Note - Pearce is certainly being fed by someone within the club, I actually thought it was Rodgers to be honest. Obviously not if he is saying that.}

Agree3 Disagree0

I imagine even Pearce has seen the writing on the wall and correctly ascertained the situation. Took him a while .

I doubt anything will happen tonight. I imagine the owners are aware of how unhappy the supporters are, particularly after today. Hopefully Rodgers will be relieved of his job by the end of the week. We can then find the right man for the job, hopefully Klopp or De Boer.

Tbh I don't think anything will happen until the owners have got somebody lined up ready for the job

24 May 2015 22:50:27
I know he's more than likely out of reach, but I think we need a wise head who commands a lot of respect in the game at the moment, unfortunately, the the most outstanding candidate is Ancelotti, who if sacked by Real will reportedly take a year out.

{Ed001's Note - or go to City?}

24 May 2015 22:52:09
What happened today did nothing but confirm what the owners already knew about BR's future. Their decision has certainly been made and if it was to sack him, today's debacle would only give them more credibility in the media when they do sack him

24 May 2015 23:19:08
Eds I know everyone has their hearts set on Klopp but do you think he is honestly within our reach? Also do you think Frank de Boer, Ronald Koeman, Paulo Sousa, Roberto di Matteo or Lucian Favre could be viable choices?

{Ed001's Note - I honestly don't see why he couldn't be within reach, unless he intends to take a year out. There are not many jobs around right now, those that are bigger would not afford him the time. Maybe if Wenger does decide to retire, as he was close to doing last season early on, then Klopp might want to take on the reins there. Arsenal are a much more stable club than us with a bigger potential budget.}

24 May 2015 23:31:33
And what if their decision is not to sack him Redohio? Do Fsg feel the wrath? Fsg, unlike the fans don't do knee jerk reactions remember? If they decide he stays does he get our full support? I ask you because you have been banging the drum the loudest over the last few months.

Do good managers not have the balls to take on a poisoned chalice? Do they need to go to a club where things are much more rosy? Surely you want to test exactly how good you are instead of opting for easy/easier street?

{Ed001's Note - why would it be balls to take on a poisoned chalice? A good manager knows when a job is untenable. It is not about being on easy street, it is about going where you can actually achieve something. Liverpool have not hit rock bottom, but they are on a downward spiral which needs arresting. Does that sound like the kind of job you would take on? It is a bit like having a bunch of job offers, one is from a company that could be huge if you can turn it around, but it is really struggling and could just as easily fold. You would have to be very certain there is something there to take on that kind of job, as it could destroy your whole future career if you misjudge.}

Pearce's latest surprised me. Calling BR's use of Can 'bizarre', the game 'spineless capitulation that often leads to P45s', this 'made that bleak night at Ewood Park in January 2011 look like a masterclass' and 'Rodgers now finds himself clinging to his job' as some of the choice quotes.

I figure if Pearce has turned on you, then you might just about be done.

Well personally ed i don't think we will drop much further than where we are. I have also read numerous times, possibly even from your good self that our squad isn't actually that bad. 5th biggest payers in the league, plenty of talented youngsters etc. We are just massive under achievers and have been for 20 plus years. that's why i called it a poisined chalice.

If you want to know what kind of clubs too managers go to, just take a look around.
Who has Ancellotti managed?
Who has Mourinho managed?

Managers live off their reputation. Why would they take on a dysfunctional club like Liverpool where you can't keep hold of your best players, some faceless committee chooses your transfer targets and fans fly banners across the stadium asking for you to be sacked? On top of that, 12 months after the best title challenge for 25 years you're on the verge of the sack.

Oh yes, forget Man City with limitless funds and world class players with incredible infrastructure, I want to test myself.

Yeah right.

Plus Klopp has turned us down once before.

You can dream all you want, Irish but unlike you who lives on planet coocoo, I live on planet earth and over here with us earthlings, we have said for months that BR was out of the depth and that he would be sacked and that the decision to sack him would have already been made so I always knew the knee jerk reactions would never come from the owners and I was fine with that. The past several weeks, we have become worse with every game and today was the last straw so not too surprised we lost bar of course the scoreline because unlike you, I know a failure when I see one. Ed also said that decision had already been made to sack him per his opinion so if that happens, many of us including me banging the drums as you pointlessly mentioned as if I was the only one doing it, would have been proven right.
