Klopp confirms he is taking a year sabbatical from the game.

{Ed001's Note - actually his words were that it might be a good idea or something along those lines. What he is saying is that he is not jumping straight into the first job offered to him but will wait for the right one when he is ready.}

Agree9 Disagree2

01 Jun 2015 15:15:30
Klopp didn't say anything about a year long sabbatical. His statement was pretty vague, and very open to interpretation if you ask me. If he really were set on an extended sabbatical then he would have made it clear. He's jobless, so there's nothing else for him to do right now than take a break anyway. As of yet, he hasn't received any offers that would turn your head, so all he can do at the moment is just sit back and see what pops up while he smashes down those beers back home.

01 Jun 2015 15:45:05
Klopp said they following:-

"After seven intense and emotional years, I think it's a good idea to let the numerous memories settle in before I take on a new challenge with my team refreshed and motivated."
"I'm going to take a break until further notice."

Cheers

The thing is the season will be upon us before we know it.
If he's made a statement saying he's taking a break, I doubt he's going to change his mind in the next 4 weeks and say he's back. I think this statement pretty much rules him out of the running for LFC manager 2015/16

01 Jun 2015 16:35:47
Ron, I and the other posters know that you are very pro-BR.

Most others are pretty anti-BR now.

Therefore, I would expect you to read a 'no' into Klopps comments, whereas most other people interpret them as Ed001 has above.

01 Jun 2015 16:47:07
I don't know that Klopp was ever 'in the running' to begin with. At the moment, we have a manager. If/when that changes, then things may get more interesting.

01 Jun 2015 17:19:23
Zed, I've always said Klopp and Ancelotti won't come to LFC and I've always been shouted down for saying it.
Both have said they're taking a break, you can't blame me for feeling vindicated.

As for being "pro BR". I will always be "pro" any LFC manager because that's the way I've been brought up to support the club. Back in the day when Shanks was manager he taught us all to pull together in the same direction, I still behave like that.

I have nothing invested in BR and I don't know him personally, if he gets sacked it will be a shame for him but will mean nothing to me personally. I just want the club to do well and my old-fashioned behaviour means I will support the man in charge until they are not in charge.

01 Jun 2015 17:40:21
Nice Ron.

Well said.

{Ed001's Note - no it is not well said. If you can only come up with 'well he is the manager now' as a reason to support him, then clearly that is not enough to keep him. Too busy trying to be superfans to actually think for yourselves and have an opinion. Support those who are doing good for the club, not those who are causing issues.}

01 Jun 2015 17:41:22
So, RK, if you worked for a well respected person and you really liked and were very pro this individual no matter what, and they committed a crime, oh, i don't know, say fraud for example, would you still be pro this individual? BR has and continues to commit crimes against LFC (foot in mouth, freezing players out, the list is endless), on top of shafting away millions of pounds on players not even needed.

01 Jun 2015 17:57:02
So you were pro-Hodgson then?

01 Jun 2015 18:29:50
RDL - I wanted him to do well. If that means I'm "pro" then I guess I was. Everyone's different but I personally don't get any pleasure or satisfaction out of seeing our managers struggle. I wanted them all to do well and I'm always disappointed when it doesn't.
I don't relish our manager struggling.

01 Jun 2015 18:46:27
Fair enough, Ron. I don't think anyone is happy to see us not doing well. My preference would be that BR was the manager for the next decade or more as it would mean he was doing well and the team was doing well which would be good obviously. Unfortunately I don't see that as the case at the moment.

01 Jun 2015 19:03:56
RK, you are being dishonest and you know it. You have been pro-BR to the fullest and we all have read all your posts on here, filled with pointless reasons as to why he should be kept and now, you`re trying to act as if you never said a thing or "I have nothing invested in him, personally". Was that quote a sick joke? You are THE BR fan on here and you are doing the very same thing he is doing and being villified for as in, taking no responsibility for your actions and past statements and are now acting as if you said and did nothing, just as BR said we were not challenging for the PL whereas he told the owners that same thing in order to shaft them for the 100m he later blew. Give it up bro, we know who you are and what you stand for. You would rather support a failure in order to be seen as a superfan (whoever that is) than support those who are ready to work for our progress as the Ed said.

01 Jun 2015 19:04:25
How is that nicely said Davey? Why support just anyone because he's our manager? Rodgers is an idiot, I'm not ashamed to say I have never supported, didn't want him in the first place. He's not a winner, he's all mouth

01 Jun 2015 19:59:34
If the current manager is removed, who fully trusts FSG on his replacement ?
Because moi, their actual football decisions are all over the place.

OK, they got Hodgson out quickly as there was going to be a revolution there.
Then they go with an old hero, leave him high and dry when the s**t starts flying, appear on the pitch at Wembley with a cup, turn up in the other cup final and don't even shake his hand after the match, then summon him to Boston for the heave ho a couple of weeks later thank you very much.

Then, it's the complete opposite, the youngest and most inexperienced manager.

Appoint Comolli as a DoF-type thingy whatsamacallit, we never were sure what his brief was exactly. Then that idea was scrapped and the reins handed to said youngest and most inexperienced manager.
What was the mess up with a striker short ?
Then it's a committee, except no one is sure where the accountability lies for the mistakes.
Now they're maybe thinking of a DoF / Sporting Director again. Haha.
You couldn't make this up.

The ground. Brilliant, at long last the problem was resolved. Houses for local people, seats for the people. Except on that last part, they won't be seats for local people but mostly on the 'chicken in a basket' brigade (not posh enough for prawn sandwiches in Liverpool yer see). So not 9000 extra raucous voices but the muffled commentary of Sky from inside the boxes and gentle whoosh of suits sitting upon extra-padded leather.
Ah well, can't blame them for that wholly I suppose, that's modern football when the £ replaces silverware as the aim.

The review and staff. Another one. The doors at Liverpool revolve faster than a supermarket. What do they give staff at the club, a six month contract ?

I don't know. Don't call people 'superfans' ed / etc. Because some of us just shake our heads now, the place seems all over the gaff. The club seemed to just tick rhythmically on once over, now it's like a Tommy Cooper trick, you don;t know what the * is coming next !

01 Jun 2015 20:01:36
I hope you're having a laugh Ohio because I can't take those comments seriously.
It's very amusing reading anyway :-)

01 Jun 2015 20:37:54
And no action

01 Jun 2015 23:01:22
Whatever, Ron! I posted facts that have been verified by both the Ed and other posters here so what you think is amusing makes no difference. Unlike you, I can accept if out team is not doing well AS LONG AS the manager has a vision that is clear and is learning from his mistakes. BR is the complete opposite of that. That is what you don't seem to get. I will support a coach who is trying to do and get better and refuse unlike you, to back a failure who refuses to learn and keeps peeing on my back YET keeps telling me it's raining. That's the diff btw you and many of us who are fed up with him. You are free to support whoever you want. I will support our club and our manager who is working hard to get us going w/o any BS.

01 Jun 2015 23:50:24
Seriously Ohio, u need to chill out. The guy supports the current manager and at least has been consistent about it. your anti-rodgers schtick is just boring and mostly consists of you parroting back what the eds have said, when everyone else has already seen it

02 Jun 2015 01:32:09
You really need to stop making this a personal vendetta Ohio. I don't know why you have a problem with me, we support the same team. Chill out for your own health.

If you want to say "you've won" on the Internet then go ahead. It really isn't important to me. I'll just keep posting my side of the debate and I won't get personal.

03 Jun 2015 01:15:01
The eds give us info so I quote them in order not to act like I know because I don't and neither do you, Canned king. RK, your side of debate? You don't have one because you need facts to have a debate and you don't have any. All you have are excuses and supposition for keeping a proven failure. Personal? Don't make me laugh. I'm not the only one who disagrees with you on this issue so why can I be personal with you? By the way, is there a BR super fan contest because if there is, you will win by a landslide.
