Even with Rodgers here next season, I'm confident of a top 4 finish, just as long as we bring in a natural right back and a natural striker.
We finished 6th with a young winger played up front for the majority of the season, and also a young midfielder played centre back/right back for the majority of the season. Therefore, if we only brought in 2 natural players for those positions, I'd be confident of a top 4 finish.
However, I'm slightly more hungry and want a title fight, but to be ready for that, we must bring in several players. Priority for me would be to bring in a passing midfielder to help us dictate games, we would also need a new centre back and a goalkeeper that would be an upgrade on Skrtel and Migs. Then I'd be confident of a title fight.

Ain`t going to happen, Rum. Skrtel is our best CB, in BR`s eyes so there is all you need to know about his ability to coach a defence. As for the rest of your post, let`s wait and see if a Leopard can change his spots.

Can't see it myself.Out of this seasons top 4 who's place do you see us taking. Definitely not Chelsea, Man city will spend big to challenge,Arsenal only need at the most 2 players and now that they are back in champions league I can see Man U spending big also. So I hope I am wrong but I can't see us dislodging any of that 4

Your wasting your time being optimistic red rum.
I was the same as you last season but the last couple of months have shown me that Rodgers really doesn't have a clue what he's doing.
The other season shown it was all down to the players not rodgers.
Yes we are desperate for a top striker but it really wouldn't surprise me if Ings and origi are it.
Followed by Milner and a couple of defenders

If last season was down to players then this season is also down to the players and similarly if it was down to the manager then he should take both the criticism and praise. You can't completely blame Rodgers for this season and not give him credit for last.

Current top 4 will improve with the type of players we dream of. They will all become uncatchable.
Only hope could be Man City, if Agureo goes to Madrid and both Dzeko and Toure are sold then they could buy bad (it happens, see Mangela). But I can see Bony being just as lethal if given a run.
The top four have players and a manager who knows how to win titles. Our situation hasn't changed, so can't really see why it would.
Being able to maintain 6th would be impressive. We need to be looking at how Spurs, Saints, Newcastle, West Ham and Swansea will improve. Add the wild card of the promoted as both Watford and B'Mouth have money play good football. Stoke and even Everton will have desires to push on too.
There is a big pack which we could get sucked into going by our end of season form.

Completely agree I have a funny feeling we will do well next season not a title challenge but defo in the mix for top 4 will get off to a good start and carry the momentum on suppose we will see ðŸ‘

That's working on the assumption that we buy amazingly well( no track record of doing so) the current top 4 ( as well as Spurs and Southampton ) by bad (most already have a strong enough base they can afford the odd mistake). Once we've accomplished that hurdle we still need BR to start playing players in their position, hope he doesn't revert back to his lame death by football system and actually starts learning from his mistakes ( track record of 3 years making same mistakes).
Too many factors there for us to make it. It will be a Christmas miracle if we get there.

We had natural strikers and right backs in our squad last season and it made no difference because Rodgers decided not to play them.
No point in adding more. No point in letting Rodgers waste anymore money, the squads there he just needs to use it properly.

You obviously missed the entirety of last season then Red Rum? If the battering from Stoke wasn't a glimpse into next season then you could have a look at the Villa semi final or the capitulation against Palace too for further reading.

The season before last we where still woeful at defending with players unorganised most of the time when playing Rodgers style of football.
Then come Xmas he just let them all loose, pretty much the same as last season but it didn't pay off this time for him.
Can you blame emre can for playing poorly at RB or sterling for playing as striker? NO
Everyone knew can was our weakest link so teams just played straight through him, but good old Rodgers stuck to it and hung him out to dry.

The thing is Skrtel is everything that is wrong about our defence. He makes us submit to attacks by dropping off to the point where we are on our own penalty spot.

Full pre-season, no World Cup disruption.
New signings from last season settle in.
No Suarez, Gerrard and hopefully Sterling and Balotelli distractions.

Lavers while I completely agree with you about this season, nobody can say we were poor at any point last season. First half the season we scored 40+ goals which is almost half of what we scored in total (101 I think). Goals conceded wise it remains almost similar. While it is true that we started a little slowly in terms of performance by Oct end November we were brilliant. This season however is there are o excuses. Just don't know why people say we were poor in the beginning of last season.

Adam, no problem admitting I'm wrong, it's not a competition I remember entering, but Internet jousting is not my cup of tea.
So of you want I'll admit I'm wrong about everything right here and now, that's how serious Internet forum jousting is to me.
But in all seriousness I just support LFC and part of that includes being optimistic and positive about the club.
I don't honestly in my heart of hearts felt that is wrong, but if it's important to you then you can have this Internet present from me.
