I understand that Pascoe got sacked and Marsh´s contract wasn´t extended - they had little impact on the teams performance.

I would imagine that Rodgers told the owners that he needed help, and they went aboard with that and they would give him a better and more experienced headcoach and asst manager. Brendan doesn´t strike me as a man who will reach compromises with anyone - It´s Brendans way or no way (he didn´t want to work with a DOF). Also he seems to take credit when something good happens and is quick to scapegoat others when things go bad - Pascoe was his yes-man, but I can´t imagine that the new coach and asst manager will nod along with everything BR does.

I can only see this solution will end in tears.

As long as Rodgers is manager, yes I think your right.
It's like changing the tyres on a car without an engine.

09 Jun 2015 10:54:04
That is actually a problem. I wouldn't see any experienced coach get along with rodgers and his inexperience. also they will not really like rodgers advising them on stuff.
the owners are thinking right by changing the backroom staff and probably it is the only way forward.
I think FSG have decided to give Rodgers a year but this time it will not be on his terms it will be FSG who decides what/who they want and rodgers needs to accustom himself to that.
which means two things firstly next season could very well be a disaster and rodgers fired of his post or secondly the new coaching staff gets the best out of players and rodgers combines all of it into a system that brings results on the pitch , that however would mean rodgers would need to actually listen to people.

now if the latter happens its a masterstroke, if it doesn't it is going to be an absolute circus at LFC.

What does it matter if the head coach is a yes man or a no man?

Brendans that stubborn isn't he? Not like he will listen to a coach?

And the coach operates under him, Brendan is the boss. El numero uno and the coaches do what he says.

Have you ever thought maybe just maybe pascoe new him better than us and wanted to keep the peace by not fighting him. Knowing he wouldn't listen anyway.

Maxi96:
That is exactly my point. Bringing in another coach and asst manager, will only end in disputes, unless they will agree to everything he says. I sincerly don´t believe that the coach or the asst manager will have much influence with Rodgers as manager.

The ability to work effectively with others is going to be essential to a long career - in almost any walk of life. Rogers either has to adapt or go. He seems an intelligent man - I hope he'll work it out himself, because I think he has a lot going for him. I think we need to understand that he's not the finished article as a manager or coach - but I share the view that this is the year he has to make a decisive step forward with the team. I'd love to see Paco back - could he even be manager if Rogers doesn't make the grade?
Ever the optomist,I suspect (and I hope I'm right) that Lallana, Markovic and Can will make a big step forward in the midfield this coming year, hopefully Moreno too. I think we need to recognise where we are The taunts over Lacazette are painful because they are true. We also need to understand that FSG are wedded to the moneyball philosophy and will not make Marquee signings unless the price is right. In this context Ings is a shrewd signing - proven to get goals in a struggling team at this level, available for a relative song, and can only get better. I hope he passes his medical!

AndyM:
intelligent man? you need to elaborate. Honestly I think that he could become a great manager, but he sure needs some guidance from an experienced manager.
Last year we spent enormous amounts of cash on players that wasn´t worth half of their price. Lallana and Markovic are prime examples. For the kind of money we spent on these player, you would expect them to fit right in the starting 11 and have an impact.

I'm with AndyM - I personally think the changing of back room staff isn't a bad idea if we're keeping Rogers. Make sure he gets opinions from the best support staff available and if he can't work with anyone but yes men and earn respect from the team around him then he doesn't deserve the job.

Using the word intelligence and BR in the same statement is an indictment on the word, intelligence. "He has a lot going for him", was that a joke or have you been asleep for the past three years? Someone who keeps making the same mistakes that has earned him the sack twice and almost earned him the sack here and hasn`t learned a thing since, is NOT intelligent at all. Redfuzz, I have posted the very same thing you did for the past days and all I get is that I`m too negative. If people wanna just brush aside the concerns you pointed out, the concerns will not just go away. they are valid and need to be addressed. The owners don`t rust BR and are trying to get him help. How do you help someone by weakening him as in, firing his staff and appointing other people he doesn`t want and deep down we all know, he will be forced to work with? We offerred him help with a DOF, he refused and now suddenly he`ll just take it because he had an epiphany? A leopard never changes his spots. If he does accept this structure and allow his assistants to fall on their swords for him, then it shows he lacks integrity and is just interested in being LFC`s manager in name only and nothing more. As Redfuzz said, "This will end in tears"

09 Jun 2015 15:11:28
I'm sorry but so much of this stuff has no merit. We don't know if Rodgers listens to his back room staff or not. I would have to imagine he at least listens sometimes; I can't seem to get the image of him talking to his assistants out of my head while we were getting trounced those last 5 games.

I wanted Brendan out too, but enough is enough.

09 Jun 2015 16:53:36
Redohio, the use of the work "Indictment" in that context says a lot about your intelligence.

Whether you are happy with Brendan or not, it is time for everyone to accept the decision made by FSG and give him full backing. I am a lifelong Liverpool fan and will blindly follow through the bad times and the good. We can't berate other supporters (scum etc) callign them plastic fans, then act the same way as soon as Liverpool don't live up to our high expectations.

1985Mikey - "It's like changing the tyres on a car without an engine"

PMSL. That is so true and so funny.

Or putting new oil into a ruined engine. 😊

Surely new coaches are good anyway? If you teach a man not to miss a penalty it's not like what Rodgers then says will make him miss? If hyypia comes in I'm assuming as a defense coach of some sort surely the time he spends with the players training them will improve their defensive capabilities regardless? Like I honestly could be daft here but would Rodgers actually dictate every detail if training to every coach? Like pako I have read here people regard his work as causing us to be at our fittest and most effective under rafa. would his work now not have the same effect on fitness? To me this surely improves the team (well hopefully) regardless of what Rodgers does. I'm not saying it's the perfect solution but it's still a step forward rather than back for me!

Klucas, the post you just made shows your inability to think for yourself and have a true point of view after compiling all the sides to a story. BTW, why should I accept rubbish being forced down my throat like a good ol boy and you talk as if you`re smarter than me whereas you cannot think for yourself and follow others in ignoring the mess we are in all in the name of "get behind the team". If you can`t think for yourself and try to see the other side of things as many of us are doing then, I can`t help you there. Also you are in no position to lecture me or anyone on this issue because you may not have noticed but I`m not the only one with such concerns and we have a right to voice them. That doesn`t mean I will not support my club which I will. I am looking at another side of the coin that needs to be addressed. Ed01 and many on here agrees with me on this because they has posted the same thing so at least, I know I`m not on my own here. And I maintain that BR is NOT intelligent because he who makes the same mistakes for years and refuses to learn from them CANNOT be deemed to be intelligent and that is a known fact based on logic.
