Find it odd how most people here think we will change our style with a big forward? I believe some teams tend to lump it more when they have a big striker, but I don't agree that benteke has to rely on crosses, despite most of his goals coming from them. Who in the villa team can create like couts! Maybe we had the least crosses, but why would you cross it to sterling at CF? He will occupy a defender or two, allowing more space, last season we rarely had s striker where a striker should be with balo and sterling dropping deep.
I also don't understand why crosses means long balls, players like lallana couts ibe etc can play all the intricate stuff and If they are forced wide can clip a cross in from high up the pitch, I'd back benteke over any of our current strikers to score then. Hopefully he can allow players to run off him too, again your like to think the players I've mentioned could do that.
As for the high press, he may be a bit lazy, but as long as he's in the right position to capatalise if we do win it high up the pitch!

I posted this morning that the figure I heard was 32.5M. However I don't know whether that is the actual transfer fee alone, or whether it's the total package (transfer, agents fees, wages for the duration of contrcat etc etc).
Personally I assume it's the latter ( ie the whole package), as he is not worth anywhere near 32.5M just as a transfer fee.

I've seen the £32.5m quoted as his buy out clause, so it could be the fee.
As I said a few weeks ago about Benteke, I can never decide if he's a great player waiting to happen once he's in the right team, or just a slightly lazier version of Heskey. It looks like we're primed to find out.

After watching the Wales vs Belgium game I am certain that Benteke will not work in the current style we play. Belgium have some very talented players as we do, who like to play intricate, clever passes, all game against Wales Benteke was always behind the play and slow to react to anything Hazard or De Bryne tried to do and only looked a bit of a threat once Mertens came on and started putting crosses in. Unless we change our style of play to suit him, he'll turn out as big a flop as Carroll.

Why is the transfer fee important to supporters? I just can not understand the importance of the fee to us. I really can't.
It is important to the owners and the club for FFP, but we should trust that if the club officials deem it acceptable, we should not be concerned by it.
All I hope is that we get players who want to be here - their price tag is irrelevant to me.

I agree. It's up to the owners to ensure we abide by the necessary rules. My frustration. Is when we overpay for players that may not be necessary and it comes at a cost of a player that is necessary. Ie we should have been offering 8 m got begovic instead of paying 6 mil for Ings ( you may not agree with the examples but you get the idea)
