You can manipulate stats the way you want them though. I won't go and find any because I don't want to look like I'm against him(I'm not), just saying is all.

49 in 99, most of which for a Paul Lambert team is pretty darn good.
{Ed001's Note - it is but those stats do not tell the full story. I mean Villa were built around a system of getting the ball to Benteke at every opportunity, which is not what will happen with us. So we shouldn't expect the same kind of goal return. If he gets 10+ goals a season, that will be a good return for a player who is not the focal point.}

Boom! - really? Ok.
You could manipulate that too, you can make it look like Stoke were better than Barcelona on that day, or that we were worse than Blackpool on the day.
For example, you could highlight the fact that Liverpool had shocking passing stats, or you could say that Stoke forced us into passing mistakes.
You could say that Liverpool had a poor conversation rate against Manchester United(in the 3-0 away loss) or you could say that De Gea had a worldy.
You see where this is going?

I don't understand why he wouldn't be the focal point. Aren't you supposed to feed your striker? If he plays 40 games I'd expect nearer 20 goals than 10 goals as he'll be playing in a team that creates more chances?

Ed, which is why he will REALLY have to up his game and show desire to improve in order to be a focal point of that system by being an integral part of that system just like LS was. LS was the focal point yet was a part of the system hence, his high assist numbers. I sure hope he can do that because if not, God help us with another Andy carroll situation to deal with
